Horrible front seating Experience, will never enter this place again. After waiting for over ten minutes to be seated an no one Acknowledging anyone standing their waiting. I asked if we could seat ourselves as their were plenty of open seats, and in turn was screamed at by the senior lady behind the cash register, so infront of my 11 year old daughter. Anyone that treats their customers likes this doesn’t deserve to be in business. I when I say screamed I mean she screamed as if no regards for anyone else. Should have took the hint when welcoming in people walking out due to lack of service. Guess what lesson learned.
I came in around 4am, needless to say I was tired 😫 and hungry. The waitresses were excellent, served me quickly and efficiently, the food was great and well cooked. No mistakes whatsoever. After this experience, the waitresses and cooks deserve a raise, this Dennys is solid and please be patient when you come in late and wait in line, itll be worth it, I ate so much, I exploded
My wife and I stopped by for a breakfast for dinner thing. Lonnie our server explained that they were training two new cooks so it might be a little longer of a wait. We got our food and I have to say our omelets were fantastic.. The manager came by and asked how we were doing and filled our drinks. Will be back
I went to Denny’s today and the food was great. The manager, Sandra I think her name was, was being very friendly. She went around to each table and spoke to the customers and I thought that was nice because I’ve never seen managers really do that before. 10/10 would eat there again. :))
A girl oddly with the same last name ( she noticed when my wife was checking out) gave us the best service I have ever received at this location It was Christmas and she was busy but she flowed through the restaurant with grace and keep us filled with drinks and a pleasant smile 😃 as I think she did with most of her tablesShes a keeperWe will start eating here more often 😋
If you want good food in a family friendly sit down restaurant, this is the place to go. This Dennys reminded me of growing up in the south. The food is just as good and the waitstaff is just as friendly and southern as I have remembered. Its a new face on an old standard. I will be going back.
I pre-paid a to go order with a tip. Upon arrival there was no plastic fork and knife in the bag. I asked for plastic ware and was told there was none. I asked to cancel the order and just get a refund. Magically, a fork and knife were found after asking for a refund, still no napkins lol. The manager got involved in the refund and not once did anyone offer an apology or any kind of nice service. When the plastic ware was found it was just like here.. then shoved in the bag. I cant eat scrambled eggs and chicken fried steak without utensils and I dont deserve to be treated like Im the one with a bad attitude.
Called to see if they stop serving Benedict at certain time, young black man answered my call, had no clue what I was talking about,... Was not thrilled as nearest Dennys is 40 to 45 min away.Finally! Brought back eggs Benedict!! They were great! Hash browns were little over cooked on one side while other side was barely cooked! Loved the hollandaise sauce though, eggs were cooked perfect!!
Probably the worse Dennys I have ever been to. First experience was bad but decided to give 2nd, but 2nd was worse than last. Skilful have known when pulled into empty parking lot. Maybe 2 people eating in resteraunt. Was told to seat myself, had to go to 3 different to find a clean. Was asked if I needed a moment to order. I said please. No one ever came, after 30 minutes I left.
They can not afford to loose customers by treating them unfairly. Took the kids to dinner tonight and kids eat free after 4pm. They refused to take the kids dinners off the tab with the excuse they ordered from the adult menu. Kids are 12 and 8 and both ordered from the kids menu. They even pointed to the food they wanted on the kids menu for the waitress.Now I know why the whole place was empty. Dont bother eating here.
The waiter only came to us when she asked us for drinks & food. At the end she just tossed the receipt and didn’t say anything. She forgot one of our plates of food & we didn’t get it until everyone was done with their own food. When we told a lady the service was bad she told us we should’ve came earlier when the service is good.
Dinner last night was so Bad. Service was really poor. The waitress was pushing to get our drinks, then she take 10 mim to bring 2 coffes ( she forgot to bring our coffee cream ) and a Dr. Pepper. Take another 20 min until another waitress take our order, and still we dont have our coffee cream. By the time she bring the cream our coffee was cold. Our waitress bring one plate at the time🤦♀️ she didnt offer us more coffee. Food was ok. And by the way they only had 4 tables the place was empty and now I no why.
If I could give no stars I would. It took them over 20 min to get us drinks waitress took forever to get our order but she was polite. The food was horrible. The fish was way over cooked couldnt eat it. The biscuit and gravy tasted horrible. And how you manage to mess up a club sandwich I dont know but it was a all around horrible experience. I will never eat there again.
Our service was excellent- polite, smiling, knowledgeable about the menu items. Appropriately, she inquired about refills, did we need anything. The shift manager checked us out and that also was a pmeasant experience. Food was tasty. I had the grilled chicken. It was moist, not dried out. Hubby had the Grand Slam and although it also was good, it was more than he could eat . Because we eat there from time, we are seeing improvements each time we visit.
Brought my family to this restaurant for a late breakfast. Was very dissatisfied with the service, food and wait staff. Never got a follow up of how the food was, never got offered refills, missing food from our order and had horrible tasting food. I feel it the wait staff had been attending their customers properly we could have addressed the issues for an enjoyable outcome. A grandparent of the waitress came in with her daughter and sat 2 tables down from ours. Of course that table got more attention than an actual customer from most if the wait staff and management. Yet 2 tables down with eyes a plenty we where ignored. Very dissatisfied, disappointed and detoured from ever eating there again.
We gave this place several chances to many. With the new owners it seems the experience has gone out of the place. Before service was wonderful and food was to pefection. Now it seems it has run down with the place itself. The service takes a little longer. The waitresses take their time in the back. There was even a time they made us wait almost 2 hours along with 4 other tables theyd forgotten. No form of communication between the staff from observation. My husband and I have given more chances than needed. All because we know at times every restaurant has its off days. Every experience in this place though has not been a pleasant one. Will not return.
This was the absolute worst experience. They sat us near the kitchen, and the servers were back there talking about locking the door with all the customers stuck inside. Our server was absolutely useless and didnt check on us at all. We were here an hour and a half before finally complaining and telling every waiter we were leaving. We wanted to talk to the manager, however she was cooking and not readily available for the staff or customers. The scrambled eggs smelled like dirty socks, and my husband and my 6 year old were disgusted.
Very prompt, excellent service. Food was awesome I was there Sunday at 11:30. Place was packed. My waitress Amy was fantastic ! Very sweet & outgoing. We never wanted for anything ! She was constantly coming by asking if we needed anything at all & there w wasnt a table open in the restaurant.
The diner is small for some the one I have been in, they were getting real busy and there wasnt enough stuff to people setted but the waiters were trying hard to keep people pleased and trying to get the food out hot 🔥. Yes there was people getting up and leaving do it the wait time or they didnt get their food but cant pleased everyone
3 items ordered were never received. toast was actually soft bread never toasted. Chocolate chips were not in the pancakes ordered. Server pretty much got the entire order wrong and the ENTIRE time we ate we did not have drinks. My husband finally stopped another server to ask for a cup of coffee but even then we never got a refill. Server was rude and said she was too busy to help us even though there were only 2 other tables she was helping. She even went as far to tell us and I quote we are just too busy, youll be lucky if you get your food by noon It was 9am at this time...we almost walked out then and should have along with the THREE other tables that actually did. We were there for a total of 2 1/2 hours for breakfast. The manager was just as rude when we told him the issues with the server he did not say one word...not. one. word. he didnt even look at us and gave us $5 off our ticket which is fine, but at the very least he should have apologized for his servers actions. Never going back to this Dennys again unless it comes under new management. We usually love Dennys food and service but this location is in serious need of a revamp and new employees.
After sitting for 20 minutes, the server came back to our table to re-take our order because it got lost. So we then waited another 35 minutes to get our food. Fries were not even Luke warm or close to being fresh. We dont expect 5 star food and service here anymore than McDonalds, but this was really bad.
We stood at the front door after we entered waiting to be seated, assistant manager walked past us several times never acknowledged we were there, not even a good morning. Finally went over and told her I believed we stood long enough to be acknowledged and put on the list for a table. Plenty of open tables by the way. Sat at a table for quite awhile before waitress asked for our drink order. Very unorganized and unprofessional service. Food was good, ordered breakfast.
Service was horrible. Food was cold and partial plate, the first plate was all wrong and I normally dont send anything back but wow apparently the waitress was not listening to me at all ordered breakfast food eggs over medium bacon not sausage and sourdough toast. I got over hard , sausage not bacon and no toast. So Im thinking well maybe shes having a bad day. So I get my plate back with bacon on it and the eggs... No toast... So I reminder kindly and it comes out not toasted. I give up. But again people do have bad days and understand that.
I got the sirloin, egg, and hash brown special. I cannot believe how good the sirloin is! I usually never order steaks outside of a steak restaurant, and I took a gamble. For a diner, the steak was superb! It was cooked to my liking (med. rare) and seasoned just right (salt and pepper only). Will visit again!
2018-Awful, awful service. Food was ok but our waitress was the worst. However, the management staff gave our kids fancy holiday cups to apologize for the service issues.2021- tried it again, worse than before, didnt even stay to order per sat for 20 min without being acknowledged. then our server arrived and was half asleep and ill prepared. Never again! oh and the manager Chris Fojt, HAHA dont know how he got his position cuz he could barely be a host.
I give this one star because there are no 0 stars. I have given Dennys in Brenham 5 trys and 4 out of have been horrible. They will stand and talk to other employees while you wait for 20 minutes for them to finish their story before they take your drink order. Todays experience was I waited about 10 min to get someone to the table to take a drink order, ended up ordering our food too. Waited 37 min before we gave up on our food. The waitress ignored us and never gave a refill on our drinks. She never came and apologized for the wait. Then when we decided to just leave and just pay for the drinks, they charged us $6.53 for 2 teas and a kids drink!!! The place was not busy enough for it to have taken anywhere that long. When we told the waitress we were leaving because it was taking to long she said Well its not my fault. I am completely amazed that place is still open with the way service is.
Service was fine. Cook was bad. Ranch dressing was sour. Apples in fruit cup were bitter. My husbands chicken fried steak dinner was good except he didnt get the garlic toast with it. My omlet was good but it came with hash browns and toast which I didnt order. I didnt get the English muffin that I did order. Our waitress was very sweet and apologized for everything even though it wasnt her fault.
Went in this morning, manager said she she could sear us right away. Then she took someone right behind us, and talked to them for 10 minutes. After the front desk young lady sat us, she wiped down just the top of the table, powdered sugar and syrup still on the seat. We sat down for 30 minutes before we walked out without being approached by a server or anyone for even water?
Was passing by..stopped for a quick meal. Waitress hanah was very sweet. Sat us down , got our drinks n suggested the new breakfast pancakes..yummmm. The manager came to check how were things n food. He was very delightful. It is nice to see good customer service still exist. We were very happy. Place was clean n staff very helpful. We will stop by more often. Thanks again Hannah n Adam
My uncle and my mother took me here for my birthday and we had some lovely food with lovely service despite the place being absolutely crowded and the kitchen looking quite slammed. As someone with foodservice experience, I salute the people of this Dennys for keeping up with the demand.
Today is November 4th, I went into Dennys to pick up an order to go and the young woman who was the hostess for the afternoon was very polite, and kind when she took my order. She was an example of what good customer service should be. This young woman deserves a raise! the food was good!
This was ridiculous. One lady was the greeter hostess sitting everyone...taking to go orders...handing out pick up orders....checking out dine in tickets and cleaning tables all while people are waiting to be seated and theres no way to social distance. Will not return . You need more hires!
Excellent food and service! Reading the other reviews, I can see that this may not be a popular opinion....we came at 7 in the morning and had great service, was seated immediately, drinks came fast, food got here quick. Waitress was polite and attentive. I recommend this restaurant to anyone. 🤔 Could be the time of day that affects the service. Go in the morning! Early bird gets the worm. 😉
I’ll give a break for how busy they where today 7/14/19 Waited 35 min to be seated not a problem but once seated we got drink order right away I was like ok not bad but then 10 min goes buy more guest seated and orders taken right away when we was ready to place our order when our drinks arrived but she had something else to do first then next guest seated and order was taken so at that point that was four tables seated and drink order taken and food order taken and we was still waiting so not today satan me and my wife gladly got up and walked out! Never be back again!!!
Weve gone there a few times and always had issues with it but nothing too extreme where we wouldnt go back. The last time we got seated immediately. The thing is we waited for 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We watched as all the servers would pass by us and serve others then they were just chit chatting with one another. I even watched as the manager was just standing at the front talking to other servers. My 18 month old started getting very impatient and loud. We decided after 15 minutes we didnt want to waste our time anymore. No one said one word to us except for when we walked out the door and the greeter said, thanks for coming, see us again!... I said no you wont.
Always either slow or waitresses with bad attitudes I went a few days ago and we wanted to change something on the order and she just sighed and took out her pad then our drinks were empty for a long time and when I said something she just stared at me and walked off. What a bad service, and its not the first time, I dont know whats going on over there, they need a hostess and more waitresses I only ever see 2 or 3 and thats on a weekend! Those orders are always wrong and tables dirty.
Poor management, our server who was very nice, and attentive, Kyanna, made up for the disorganized service. Salad was not ready before the main course and came later. Some sides came in stages instead of all together. The cook did make good food and what we asked for.The manager refused to give us the 20%off from the email coupon we received because supposedly they didnt have a scanner, (we were from out of town and didnt have a printer to print coupon). This restaurant also has an interesting place to hang a purse hook which on the outside part of the ladies bathroom door instead of inside. Place was clean and served the purpose. Could have been worse.
They brought me the wrong pancakes and then took them back and added 1 thing and brought them back. Still wrong but I ate them anyways. Then didnt bring me the rest of my food until 30 minutes later. Several tables got their food before me and my husband did. The waiter wasnt that good. I will not be coming back.
My husband and I have been here 2 times on a Saturday morning. We waited 1 hour and 28 mins for both of our breakfast plates. Mine was a basic 2 eggs, 2 bacon with toast. It’s didnt come with the bacon. We waited another 15mins asking the waitress twice if the bacon was coming. She finally told us, sorry but no we will just give you your refund on the bacon. So in short, I waited over 1 hour and 40 mins for two pieces of toast and 2 eggs. We tried to be understanding, but the last straw was when we went to check out at the register and we were trying to explain the horrible service we received to the manager. He looked at us with no expression, said nothing and rushed us through the checkout. I’m sure you’re thinking “they were just annoying customers” but to our surprise 3 other groups behind us were complaining to the manager as well. The manager gave them the same response. I refuse to ever come back here.
I will say I was very skeptical about eating at this Dannys.However Im a truck driver ,and it was late . So we came in for dinner.Our server was Christopher he was on it, he got our drinks and took our order .He was friendly and personable. Our orders came out hot,and correct. Toward the end it did get a bit busier but he did a great job....
Worst service. We stopped by for dinner. Nobody at the counter. We were attended after 10 min. After sitting on the table we waited 30 mins before someone asked us something to drink.We were about to leave which is when somebody showed up at the table.At the end food sucks. Over fried fries. Stale shrimp. Dont go to this place.
Absolutely the worst service ever. We waited for 10 minutes didn’t even get a menu, people are walking in the back looking for someone to take their money. Plus Moises tried to seat us at a table that wasn’t cleaned from the last people that sat there. Avoid at all costs!
The coffee was cold, the server didnt check on us until after speaking to the manager. The server forgot about our food and then the manager forced the server to apologize like he was his father rather than taking responsibility for his employees actions. Weve stopped here a few times in the past with no issues, but this was the last time...
Ok wow. Firstly, we had to wait a good while before I flagged someone down to take our drink orders. Secondly, apparently our waitress didnt want to wait on us as another waitress ( Amy) waited in us so Im going to make sure Amy gets tipped. Thirdly, my coffee cup had lipstick on it and was was easily wiped off. The rest of the cup looked dirty too. Only three stars as they got three strikes before I even got my food. Thank you Amy for stepping up to take our orders and making sure everything was ok. The food was just ok this time. I dont plan on coming back.
Its hit or miss here on the quality of service. We left today to go eat at Kountry Boys Bakery and Restraunt. There was no wait and the food and service was spot on. Theres not enough parking or seating while you wait for a table at Dennys. No hostess or ANYONE for that matter at the front counter to tell you to sign in for the wait list. Take my advice and go to Kountry Boys instead. Support locals!
I was not at pleased with my visit in Brenham Texas. My wifes t bone was overcooked and my c f steak was cold. Server never came back to see if liked the food, maybe didnt really care. I drank all of my tea and never got a refill, and they wouldnt honor the free kids meal with side wont ever visit this location again. Tomball location is one hundred times better.
Im not happy with this place at all I have small children not only was two people working here fighting in front of my kids and scared them the service was not good only had bring couple of plates then made us wait a while for the other food. I dont understand the general manager was here why she couldnt fix the problem I dont understand. I wish someone would contact me asap.
Food and service was ok. They must have had a bad day. Looked like the busser was serving tables No name badges, didnt even know our servers name. Half of our group meals were not right missing items, main meals but on top of each other on small side plates, no utensils ect. I might give them another try when I come back through.
We tried eating in, one time after we moved to Brenham. Once. Its a small place, and they try to make up for it by pushing tables together almost in communal benches and packing you in like sardines. If you dont mind not being able to have a private conversation, and having to ask strangers to move so you can use the restroom, and you arent claustrophobic,.ok. But good luck getting service. There are a lot of workers doing...something...but almost nobody waiting tables. I promise that you will never see a coffee refill. There arent a lot of breakfast options for eating out in Brenham, so we tried again with takeout. Ordered online, went to pick it up, 30 minutes after the order, and its not ready. Hostess says something non-committal about checking on it, then nothing. No info, no eye contact. So I sit, and sit more, until it becomes apparent that they didnt start my order until after I arrived. I ask again 20 minutes after my arrival, and she says something about a mixup and how it shouldnt be more than 10 or 15 minutes more. Nobody bothered to say a word about it, including the manager who I found out later knew all about it. So I walked. Theres an hour of my life I wont get back. Tl;dr: this place sucks, just stay at home and cook.
Just left this place September 2, 2017 11:30 am. Got bit by ants at table. Complained to Manager who was also cashiering and he didnt offer a discount and acted like he wanted to hurry us out. They just wiped table off. Doesnt he know some people are allergic to an bites?
Server talked bad about other customers to my wife and daughter. Server also took 15 minutes to get drinks ( not busy never busy ) then forgot what they were. Food was not only cold but wasnt cooked right and missing items. After 3 times sending it back. They had enough. They are not known for their service and it was by far the worst ever. Owners dont care about service just money. DONT GO HERE.
Slow service. The waitress brought me the wrong meal but it was so late I decided to just eat it. She then brought my actual plate and took the one that she sat in front of me (that I had already salted and ate half a piece of bacon) and took it to the other customer.
Normally its ok. But today (just left after arriving at 2) group of 7, four kids. None of us were satisfied with our meal. Took over an hour for the food to come out. Nothing came out at the same time and nothing was hot. Dissapointing paying 46.58 and noone being full or happy.
As soon as I open the menu I was disgusted to find jelly smeared all over on both sides of the menu! I had to ask multiple times for my silverware, the service was bad, kids were yelling and drooling everywhere, and the sausage was cold, my mommas banana pecan pancakes were NOT ONLY BURNT BUT COLD, the floors were nasty all over, the syrup dispenser was sticky. I will never return here if there is no other food in the world.
Ok idk if its the chain or just the individual dennys here in brenham but it seems like the last 3 time i have been here they were out of everything we wanted. Once they were out of hamburger meat, second time was buns and cheese. This time they were out of pico and couldnt make banna split cause they were out of strawberry ice cream and strawberry syrup. Im sorry but it is up to management to stay on top of inventory and make sure this doent happen. I can understand once but the last 3 time in a row i have been here this place has left me very disappointed and wondering why do i even continue to come back. Well not anymore im really done till management issues are dealt with. Good bye dennys!!!!
Got a obvious new waiter. We sat down he did get our drinks. Only to come out and say Im making fresh tea, all good, I wanted coffee instead (he is also slow during whole point) brings coffee, and walks away, no cream, took 4 min to get him back out, got cream, mixed my coffee, tasted it eww, its french vanilla, ok 5 min later new coffee. He comes out 8 minutes later do you want your salad with or without meal? Really? Brings out salad, 1 minute later brings out meal... barely had time to cut up and add dressing. We asked for mustard and we get honey mustard, ask for real mustard. He says we dont have mustard, omg really, told him go ask somebody. Dennys do better than this guy , there are obvious better choices or do better training. Then to pass off the salad on kitchen staff, saying that they usually have it out faster , no fool its your job to check on it. 0 stars

2022-06-14I’ve been eating Dennys for years but honestly this one is at the top of my list. Amazing service and food was fresh(you can see the smoke on the pic) and delicious. Totally recommend! Our waitress thank you so much, we had a complicated order and you were so patient and kind.

2021-11-22Everything was great.... Dennys is an American tradition and in this visit the only thing I could recommend is that you eat the double chocolate pancake pops at the moment, but if you decide to take them home wrap them up in a napkin (each ball) so the trapped grease can exit... thanks for the good food Dennys!

2022-04-03Our waitress was sweet and made sure if our orders were correct and if they werent she made sure she took care of it. Only reason I gave it a 4 star was because of the lady at the register. Her body language was horrible and she was rude. She acted like we were a nuisance and was trying to brush us off. If I was to come back and I saw her working I would definitely not eat there.

2022-05-30Went in last night. Stood at the front door. Ignored by the wait staff? No eye contact no hello no just be with you in a second. So we seated ourselves. Understandably, frustrated. Waitress didnt appreciate that. We seated ourselves and she loudly told another staff member that she was not going to wait our table. Someone else finally coming and took a drink order but didnt bring everything we needed and when we asked for straws and napkins and lemon for the tea, we were told essentially we would get it in good time and the person walked away. I realize that todays wait staffs and most restaurants are hard pressed and short staffed, but that still doesnt justify that level of anti-customer service.

2022-05-22Server was super friendly and courteous. Fastest Dennys Ive ever been to. Was honestly surprised with how fast the food came given the slow experiences at all the other locations Ive been to across the country.

2022-05-29Wonderful food, outstanding service and great atmosphere!!!! The food exceeded my expectations but our waitress Tarranda (I apologize if I spelled it incorrectly) was extremely spectacular! She was so caring and attentive about us even though she had so many other tables, she was extraordinary and not just a great waitress but an amazing person. The next time my boyfriend and I come back this way were definitely going back here and I hope to see her smiling face!!!

2022-07-05Dine here at your own risk... my family and I are from out of town and were visiting family. We started breakfast by one of our family members finding their fork was not properly cleaned. Then as our meal was starting a cockroach came up the wall next to us. The waitress saw it and killed it by using a napking and her hand, but didnt offer to change our seating or even move our plates as she killed the critter. As we were eating someone in our party found a hair in their plate. Then someone else found another.We did not get a discount (our bill was about $150), and even if we had we will not be returning here when visit again. We live in Los Angeles, and have never been exposed to such an environment. Our waitress was good, cleanliness not so much.

2022-02-21Waitress was nice. Food was terrible. They forgot half of what we ordered. No toast. The new steak over a bacon cheddar potato cake... Im not sure what the meat was but the plain not done hash browns they put it over .... Was not what i ordered. I think they cooked the chicken fried steak a few days b4 it was a breaded hocky stick.
