It’s truly a neighborhood Walmart. I see people there I know all the time. The food items are well stocked. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and presented tastefully. The high in demand items like home AC filters aren’t always stocked. And, their self help cash registers seem to be broken all the time. So, there are long lines at checkout. Staff always have a smile on their faces and ready to help. That’s a very positive thing!!!!
I think I finally understand why so many people talk so badly about Walmart. Customer service is the absolute worst. Wasnt so bad when the prices were cheap, but now that theyve gone up might as well go somewhere else to shop. I know they one person wont make a difference, but I wanted to share cause Ive been shopping with them for about 30 years now and its very disappointing to say the least.
Honestly this is the most unprofessional and disrespectful place. Employees never seen to care to help the costumer and they are very rude. I never EVER like to post bad reviews, but honestly this store needs to check their management. Incredibly rude attitude come from the supervisor and managers. I can totally see why other employers seems not to care about costumers.
Wal Mart employees arent always well liked, however this was not the case for yesterdays experience. Two individuals went out of their way to help me pick put the best candy for my students. Not a big gesture or anything, but when you have a bad day its nice of people to help out even if its just a fist bump and a smile.
Their checkout machines are in bad need of maintenance and servicing. The employees and management dont listen very well. They hear what they want to hear. I did get the issue resolved, but Im tired of going through this everytime I go to this Walmart. I will not be returning.
Waited in jewelry department over 20-30 minutes, so many associates passed and nothing. Called on the person I’m charge of jewelry three times and still nothing. Horrible horrible horrible! Bad service! Even by calling to the store to let them know we have been waiting for assistance, no answer! Ugh HORRIBLE!
It gets the job done for things you might need, from the typical range of foods, electronics, clothing, furniture, and so on in one place. The place is clean, fresh, bigger, and has a KFC inside the place. (Which was recently installed since like early 2020 or so?) Though not really diverse, it is certainly something cheap and covenient of a supermarket.
Dont even bother calling this place, apparently they dont pay their employees enough to answer a phone, and such a place cant be supported. Happens on the daily, youll find yourself calling multiple times on your free time just for the phone to automatically hang up on you after 10mins. Then youll go ahead and call every department in the hopes that you can speak to someone just for no one to answer you. This is very unfortunate, and unprofessional in their part. Its extremely frustrating, and by far this is the worst WalMart in the McAllen/Edinburg area when it comes to calling them.
I came in to get some tires installed 94 bucks for all for came in at 2 30 pm I left at 7 45pm they dont have a lobby to wait until its done the guy sed 1 hr came back 2 hrs so I started to watch them all they did was move the truck from the middle lain to the right lain no tires installed not one nor balanced by 6:30 ...keep in mind I had kids and family with , this is getting frustrating it was a 1hr job 3 kids 3 adults just standing in the middle of lains. Worst service i have ever had from Walmart slow 🐌 workers and how can u have a tire and lube shop with no lobby no chairs nothing.. bring chairs and food cuz this people dont care about service its about their paycheck an hrs
Just came back from Walmart. Had to take advantage of the Xbox Video Game Sale! Bought my digital card game, scanned and go, and out the door.. when I forgot my recipt! The staff was very helpful and friendly on getting and remembering my purchase, and it was a great easy transition after my silly mistake. Compassionate, caring, and friendly! Thank you guys for all you do, especially during these times.
It was the worst Walmart experience Ive ever had. Now they have decided that they dont have any manned lines but everything is self checkout and the self checkout area is tiny so I had to scan my entire full cart on a 1 by 1 ft surface area. I had to place bags on the floor to reach and scan what was underneath before I could put any scanned items back in the cart. It was so beyond stressful and ridiculous.
Hardly any registers open, self check out registers work really slowly, no help from employees, they walk away when they know youre going to ask them for help or ask a question. If youre looking to get in and out quickly its best if you go to a Dollar General near by.

Ive visted this Walmart a few times during this pandemic and it feels amazing knowing that the employees do all in their power to ensure their costumers are safe! They wipe down every single cart, they offer hand sanitizer as you walk in, they have guidelines along the aisles to direct traffic a certain way, and they always disinfect the Self-Checkout stations. Only twice have I seen the supercenter with empty shelves for necessities like toilet paper and hand towels and with food items like chicken and meat. I recommend still being cautious when visiting this Walmart as its not a requirement to wear face masks and gloves, so many individuals take that to their advantage and are a danger to others. If that were to become a requirement by the managers, then Id gladly bump up this rating to 5 stars!
Like all stores Walmart has it’s pros and cons. But this one is by far the worst I’ve experienced. Talk about how the staff is unprofessional and unhelpful. They know almost little to nothing about their store and always end up with the excuse of “Oh this isn’t my department.” If it’s not your department that you “specialize” in, then what are you doing there?? Dirty bathrooms. Clogged toilets. Prices are never accurate on some products. Their return policies are pointless. Tried returning a brand new pool that was already ripped straight out of the box and they wouldn’t accept it back even though it had warranty. Oops forgot to also mention how they have staff check your receipts before you leave, I’ve always been conscious of the fact that if they see you are “light skinned” they don’t even ask to check your cart/receipt. But if they see a “dark skinned” person, they’re QUICK to pull them to the side and go through the persons shopping bags and check off the items found and listed. Prejudice much?
I would give it more stars but the service wasnt there. Went with my family and I, and we walked around for quite a bit. Only once did somebody ask us if we needed help and we didnt. But for being there so long and running into several employees, nobody asked us if we needed help (except for that one person). Usually thats fine, but during the checkout we waited at an open register while this female employee was conversating with a male employee completely ignoring us. When she finally rang us up and we used our credit card, we waited a few minutes before she even hit the button to okay it.Other than that, Walmart is Walmart. Many things you need and many things you dont need.
Just another big market, it is okay has almost everything you might need when in a hurry, food is fresh it has self check and the better thing is 24/7 so any time you want it is open. not too busy so good if you dont like busy places. if you dig enough might find some very interesting rolls back...
BEWARE OF THE TIRE & OIL CENTERHusband & I went to go get a tire rotation & oil change took 3 HOURS but thats not even the worst part, these idiots Didnt even tighten the bolts up so our tire lost 2 nuts from our rims!! We called to speak to a manager but no they just kept transferring him back & forth to electronics & Walmart manager & they never did anything about the issue, no compensation no Im sorry NOTHING. we couldve literally lost more but when we saw one on the floor we checked how loose the others were & EVERY SINGLE ONE was loose. My family couldve been a serious car accident had all fallen off. & Im not exaggerating please if you care about your families take the extra miles & go to the next Walmart tire center. wouldnt even post one star for what these irresponsible untrained people did but yet theyre quick to charge u after theyre done
3hr + wait for my tire to be patched. 2 vehicles in front of me and the only reason they gave me was that they were short staffed. I usually dont waste my time with Walmart but it was a Sunday and most tire shops were closed. I had to drive with my low tire to pharr. Never again would I consider this Walmart.
My neighborhood Walmart 👀 does not have a return policy for items bought on the jewelry department because of the covid 19... so be careful if you purchase jewelry or watches for your loved ones for Christmas 🌲🎅🎁they wont refund your money if something breaks or doesnt fit be warned ✌
Nice & organized. staffs were pretty helpfulHowever they are not well planned about night time. I visited the place in night. They kept both of the self payment option closed simultaneously for maintenance everyday. So I had to wait evrytime in a long que for getting something that cost one dollar
Wow, for a multimillion dollar company to reduce their customer service, down to one cashier line, at 6:30pm......its just pathetic! The rub is that most of the customers in line are older. At least a couple of them in their eighties and nineties. Customers who deserve respect (after all it is a golden rule)and a little extra care. People who should not be forced to use the self checkout. Some people are not comfortable with new technology.Shame on you Walmart and the management at this store. Even after I pointed out the extra long line and asked that they open another register because of the elderly in line, my request was ignored!
Worst service ever! Worst customer service! Very rude associate. Never have had issues till today. I was waiting in the cosmetics section to be charged while the associate, CARMEN, saw me and didnt come to charge me so I was leaving the cosmetic area and she told me all cosmetics had to be charged there. (Of course i knew this, not my first time) so i let her know no one was here and she said well i am. After that, unnecessary comments were said and had an awful attitude. There needs to be an improvement in customer service or receive proper training on how to talk to customers.
Was there in the Automotive Tire Center as they call it, for 2 hours waiting to have 2 new tires put on my truck, well that NEVER happened! POOR BELOW BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS! Had no choice but to walk the store, not once was I greeted by an employee and they have no comfortable sitting anywhere in the store and the tv in automotive wasnt working either. Store 429 your a joke.
I cannot in good faith give this store a good rating because of their lack of clean facilities. I feel it important to have a clean and working baby changing station for mothers like myself to make a quick trip the the ladies room to change babys diaper. I wasnt able to change my sons diaper because the table wasnt stable when unfolded. Broken hinges aside, the table was visibly dirty with what I assume is something unspeakable. I will not be returning to the particular Walmart that I visited today because I know that when nature calls I will have to go somewhere else which is very inconvenient.
I have been working for Walmart almost three years now, 2 Years in Rio Grande City Walmart. One year ago I transferred to Walmart 429 at University Dr to be closer to the University where I am Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Walmart Management has done a great job on working around my school schedule. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work for such great company and also be able to pursue higher education. Disappointed that I couldnt get a electric cart. Yes I know someone from this walmart told me to get my own. I dont need one all the time just in big stores. When I have a electric cart I shop alot because I can go over the whole store. I may spend $200 -$300 in one trip. Its so sad that I cant always shop here.
I went by to return a heater that I had bought 2 days ago and the customer service cashier didnt help me properly. She had a bad temper and a bad attitude. All I wanted was my money back in my card not the money back in cash. I didnt have my receipt but I had taken my card so that they could look up my receipt and therefore return my money back. She couldnt even do that. She claimed the store policy was to look up the receipt but wouldnt be able to return my money to my card. I will never buy stuff from here again unless its food or clothes that I can exchange. Excuses excuses and more excuses.
Lady at customer service had attitude when I was trying g to return items that werent open. One of the boxes was damaged when I bought it and the item was also damaged which I did not know until she opened it. These items never left my vehicle. Please less attitude towards customer . If you dont like your job find another one or just do your job and treat the customers right.
Worst service ever, all these high school employees are a joke and the senior staff seems like they never grew up out a such a childish mentality. Doesn’t matter if it’s a large corporation or a small mom and pop store, the reflection and attitude of the staff reflects on them as people and that is the worst attitude and disrespectful service I’ve ever had and some of the ugliest people I’ve ever encountered.Go to the McColl and Trenton one, the people are worlds nicer and treat people like people and not some inanimate object.
I just left very upset all I s trying to do was ask a question about some car DVD players for our trip and it felt like I was invisible we were also getting our oil changed so my husband took the car before being serviced because I started crying from how upset I was they had no reason to be rude to me but I guess..... I loved this Wal-Mart before I got my tires from there last year we were going to do the same with our other vehicle.....guess not anymore
I used to avoid Wal-Mart if I could, but lately I stopped by to get some gardening stuff and windshield wipers.Im impressed by the appearance of the store. Theyre clearly trying to improve their appearance, from the colors of the store and the employee uniforms.Good on you Wal-Mart.
I dislike Walmart its getting more expensive everyday and staff is always unhelpful at this location. If I could pick another store with the same options I would. Wic is no longer being labeled because its more convenient to skip that part. Fruits and vegetables are scarce.
Ordered a pair of 13W black Fila shoes online. What I received was a pair of 13M gray Fila shoes. At least they got 1 out of 3 right which was the brand. Went online to return them and it stated that I could go to any Wal-Mart to have the return labels printed. Went to Wal-Mart on University in Edinburg and after 5 minutes, 2 associates could not figure how to find the order and said I would need to call to return the shoes. Worst customer service to help a customer to return items that were shipped by someone who could not fulfill a simple order.
Hello ppl!! Just wanna let U guys know that Wal-Mart is still running like the 1st day they starting!! Employees treat US like family n for that I owe them respect. Keep it up the positive attitud n respect. Just dont work as hard as U guys do. Take it easy, it all pays the same RAZA!!!
I dont know why I have an ungodly hatred of Walmart. Maybe its the people. Maybe its because they dont have any registers open like ever. Maybe because they have self check out but theyre always off? I dont know. I just refuse to come here unless its an absolute emergency. Try target or HEB or maybe even stripes? Any place is better than this.
Well what is there to really say, its a Wal-Mart. I never really interact with any employees while Im here but most smile and say hello when youre around them. Some offer assistance when they see you, others, not so much. This location is usually in an organized condition and theres never really any craziness in terms of pallets and all that at night time being in spots where you cant reach merchandise. The lines can get kind of long but, thats all Wal-Marts. Its a good Wal-Mart, I have nothing bad to say.
Failed to find someone to do a carry out for me. I am 8 months pregnant and need assistance lifting a 50lb dog food bag. Waited 20min and was told that they couldnt find anyone. I saw plenty of employee around the store so it is hard to believe that they couldnt find a single person.
Ridiculous. Trying to contact security or manager no answer. I attempted 5 times!!! An old man lost in the parking lot for over 30 mins! Temperatures over 90 degrees. And no help to be found. Where the hell was security? Do you guys have any security in the morning. Very disappointing !
Great Walmart, I already wrote a previous review on the regular site. Texas Walmarts are the best, I had a terrible experience at an unnamed Walmart in Federal way Washington so when I came back to this one I was truly proud ind impressed. it seems like the Texas Walmart employees put the customer first, service above self.
Great Wi-Fi throughout most of store, my iPhone 5S only disconnected once - and only momentarily. Staff are readily available around 10PM on Monday nights. The staff are well educated on directing customers to specific products. Excellent security, the security is constantly roaming around in the parking lot. It really adds some relief to late night shopping.Management, here are some suggestions.- One, please educate all staff about the app. I asked for help using Wal-Mart pay, but the cashier was it familiar with that payment method and did not ask for help despite two nearby and unoccupied cashiers.- Second, prices are not updated regularly on price tags. As a result, the Chas register lines are get jammed as cashier manually look up prices.- Third, prices on items are inconsistent within the same type of item and do not match other Wal-Mart locations.- Fourth - this may be for corporate and not management - but please perfect the price scanner to show prices and not state Item is out of stock in store when I clearly just scanned it in the store, which the app would know because of location capabilities.
Horrible experience. Humiliated by manager. My sister just got a walmart creditcard earlier in the day online. We were trying to pay and had all our info for the accound number card number exp date and even registered it for walmart pay. For security reasons walmart pay wouldnt go through and manager refused to allow her to enter her card number manually. Waste of time. We went to a different walmart and were able to complete our transaction by entering her card number. Manager with a horrible attitude at university walmart.
Walmart visa cards are a ripoff. Cant believe i gave these away for Christmas. Sorry those who i gave one to. I had one left over and what a nightmare getting that thing to work. Then the fees i lost i dont know how money on that card. Sorry Ill make it up to yall next Christmas
After the visit I made to this Walmart with my four babies today and was kicked out by Walmart manager and staff, n the nasty old person who was screaming and cursing me and my children was permitted to stay I will be filing a discrimination lawsuit first thing Monday morning. Me and my children did nothing wrong but be the only white people involved.. its sad that the person cursing children and making them cry was not removed instead the people involved were children and they were removed 😖😞😢😢😢😡😡😡. Walmart u will hear from my lawyer very soon I will not let my babies be treated like that it is unacceptable and very sad on Walmarts be half

2022-01-29I love going to Walmart to fo my shopping, it has everything I need & the employees are very courteous friendly and helpful. Being that I use a wheelchair, the staff always helps me with things I cant reach always with a nice and friendly face. They keep the store nice and clean. Its always a pleasure shopping there 😃

2022-05-11I always shop at Walmart, some time or another. In store as well as online. Recently Im not happy with the price increases. Many grocery items went up by a dollar or more, instead of a quarter. Some downright doubled. Example: fresh bakery fritters went from $1.93 one week, to $3.76 the next. The dozen glazed donuts went up in stages, from $3.49 to $4.25, then to $4.99. We customers notice this. We also notice when items ring up a dollar higher than the shelf price. Change you price tags already.Walmart is still my go to place for most anything.

2022-06-17Last in the front was rude because she called me out in front of everyone.I don’t like using plastic bags and I forgot my own bag so I put all my groceries in the basket and as I was walking out with it to not carry everything in my arms the last in front said “maam!” to call my attention and she didn’t say anything. Just pointed at e basket with all my groceries and then pointed to the baskets that were on the floor for customers to grab. I knew what she wanted me to do. To put the basket where it was and not walk out with it. But how come we can take the cart outside and not the basket? The point is to facilitate our carrying the groceries to the cart.When I worked in customer service, I would’ve nicely said “oh I’m sorry ma’am you’re not allowed to take baskets outside but let me get you a cart instead.”I know this is something small but someone having a bad day can easily just get their feeling hurt.Just for future reference

2021-02-28I have never been at a nicer Walmart. Every single person in here was standing by and ready to do what they could for you. everyone greeted you. and everybody was so helpful and pleasant and polite and had such wonderful manners. my hat is off to the manager of the store

2022-02-11The store was well stocked; however, they werent too anxious to accept my money. They only had two live cashiers. The one in whose line I waited was not in a big hurry. Thankfully, the Customer Service associate came and rescued me from the long, slow-moving line. As a former WM manager, I was a little disheartened.

2022-04-25Amazing just too many people and only 1 register open and slot of people dont know technology like that and cashiers know more than us so we would go through the line faster, many people are in a hurry and need check out as fast as possible but other than that its okay.

2022-03-05This Walmart has the worst service ever , I dropped my phone in a bin of stuffed animals and I had to bend over to reach in to grab it at the bottom and some employee Caucasian mid 50s/60s very short haired lady screamed at me from across the mens section to stay out of there !! It was quite awful I also had an incident of black Friday of last year where I was looking at pjs and I saw some in the middle section and I kneeled down to see them better and she almost dropped me and basically jumped on top of me to not touch it while raising her voice at me. My mom was present on both incidents seems like when your looking for someone to tell theres nobody available.

2019-07-11Everybody’s experience could be different and this one is mine. They have everything you need, what I like about this store is that it’s close to work and close to the dorm when I used to be a college student. Good for college students and good for work if you are in the middle of an emergency
