Dickeys Barbecue Pit in other cities:
I ordered a pound of catfish. I did not expect it to be catfish pieces when I got home. I am so disappointed ! I called back and talked to whomever answered the phone. He said that they weigh it. Yeah Right ! We used to order catfish plates on Friday for 10.99 and get 4 strips each, not pieces ! I know that we are in a pandemic, but dont take advantage of people when they are spending their hard earned money with you.
Wife went in for a take out order on Friday the 18th. We got 2 meat plates with 2 sides. So she gets the food home and we discovered thst the brisket is dry, jalapeno cheddar sausage dry, bake beans had a funny flavor to them and rolls were not fresh. This was at 4 in the afternoon so maybe this was items left over from lunch. And to top it off the cobbler was 80% crust and looked disgusting. So 30.00 dollars basically wasted. Get it together Dickeys!!!
The service was awful I called to check on something on the receipt and the 2 clerks that answered was rude and unprofessional my girl went through the drive thru and ordered 2 pulled pork sandwich combos and was charged for sides and drinks that was supposed to come with the combo she said she didnt have a button for the combo she had to share separately for the sides and drink so they lost the business of me and my girlfriend if I can put -5 I would do that
The food here is excellent. We have eaten only pickup orders since COVID-19 hit. They often leave of things on the drive-through orders. At times they have left out pickles and onions, which are normal complimentary consonants. After the 1st time this happened, we made sure to request them. They still leave them out sometimes. Eat-in service had always been excellent, with the added benefit that they had an open self-service condiment bar with picked, onions, jalapenos and a variety of barbecue sauces, and self-service fountain drinks, including sweet and under tea. For the food, this is our favorite barbecue place.
This was the worst food Ive had from a restaurant in recent memory. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and it was served completely different than what was on the website. The chicken must have sat for hours and was either overcooked or reheated multiple times. The manager at the Cooper St location said sorry thats not the way we make it at this location. No apology, just cavalier attitude. Coleslaw was tasteless. Fries were fresh and hot. Good fries are easy enough to find. No need to return to Dickeys.
Yesterday’s dinner was today’s lunch and the sad part is you can tell it was bad yesterday, when it was a different color and fresh. I am not a fan of warm potato salad either. $45 for chicken, ribs, and a burger. FYI for anyone who cares there are better fast food bbq joints. Go to soulman’s or spring creek.
The ribs and chicken was dried out like they were from yesterday. The slice beef sandwich and the sausage was nice and juicy.I ordered a 3 meat plate around 1:00 in the afternoon. Never had it been that bad before. I have had Uber to deliver a 3 meat plate from there and it more moist and tender than today.
Placed an online order this morning in my credit card which charged. However I received no notifications that the restaurant was closed. It was closed because of the weather but I received no notification that my order would not be filled because no one was coming to the restaurant. Someone should have been monitoring the situation. I am hopeful that I will not have a problem getting my money back. Fortunately I found 2 other favourite restaurants that were open for business today.
Super delicious Barbecue! Everytime I pick up my food, I almost cant wait to eat it. Even though it is sitting next to me on my 3 mile away home drive, I can imagine it teleporting into my mouth! It is so difficult not to eat it as it sits next to me mocking me. It taunts me with the smell and then the aroma of their in house barbecue sauce mocking me.Got to get home and devour it!!!! 🤤🤤🤤
Nothing I ordered was worth eating. Even my 1 year old that will anything passed on everyones plate. I had to put sauce from torchys to make the food tolerable to eat. I wish I had the energy to return the 71 dollars worth of food. Had to order more food for dinner from another place so everyone didnt have to force it down.
Excellent, not exceptional BBQ. Facilities and service were great. Best Dickies Ive ever been in.We used to bring our own chocolate syrup to our local Dickies.... This place had their own!Place is clean, everything is well laid out. Fresh yeast rolls! Its not close to home, but Ill be back.
Stopped for lunch today. The place was busier than normal, and yet I saw the friendly staff helping younger kids get straws and lids for their drinks. They are very quick cleaning off tables and having seating available for the next customers. The food is always excellent! The condiment bar is always clean and stocked. Our main go to place for BBQ for all of these reasons!
The food was horrible & cold and they got our order wrong. Ordered a to-go order from here. First they called to tell me the food would be delayed another 15 minutes, then they actually didnt get it out until 45 minutes after they had initially told me it would be ready. I could deal with a delay if the food was good, but it was all cold except the salad, and the sides were gross. The salad was warm & had no dressing or croutons-just cheese and lettuce. They didnt get the order right & sent us regular sausage instead of jalapeno. One person had ordered chicken and they sent 3 small slices of chicken-not nearly enough food. They sent tons of extra sides we didnt order but didnt give us the drinks we paid for. I am NEVER eating here again. Complete waste of $60.
Dont go close to closing time. We got there at 8:15, they close at 9. They had already started the clean up routine, all the chairs were up. The rolls were like rocks, mac n cheese was cold, fries were old. Nobody was there to take payment so my mom sat down to wait for someone. A lady came yelling she didnt pay, hey you didnt pay. It was really unnecessary. We didnt try to leave, just sit down and watch for someone to come to the register. The creamed spinach was delicious, the meat was really good, and the potatoes and green beans were good too. I might give them another chance. But to start closing almost an hour early makes it feel like customers are an inconvenience.
Made my catering order with the online system. However, the order never made it to the restaurant when I called to confirm the day before my sons graduation dinner. (Really not what you want to hear that an order is missing when you have 50-60 people arriving for dinner the next day.) Anyhow, the manager took my order over the phone and reassured me it would be okay even though it was less than 24-hr notice. On the day of the dinner, there were issues with the card payment due to suspicious activity; but, again...the Manager worked with me to ensure my event would continue without issues. My family thanks the Dickeys on S Cooper for such great customer service!
Good tasting food and service. During the visit it started raining and the roof leaked around the A/C. It was immediately brought to attention of the staff that the condiment bar food (bbq sauces, pickles, onions, etc...) were being contaminated. Very slow response with a pan that kept splashing the food. It seems the staff is not concerned with sanitary measures required in food services. Makes me a little concerned about a revisit.
Staff always greets you and makes you feel welcome. Food always looks fresh, is hot and the restaurant is always clean. Free ice cream doesnt hurt either. Ive been to another Dickeys in another city and it doesnt compare to the Arlington, TX on Cooper street location.
Came in today Sunday, ordered an adult meal with a free kids meal . Female cashier didnt want to honor the free meal, she looked upset and irritated with me. She said the sandwich was not the correct size & went back into the kitchen then came back with the manager. The manager said that it was OK but the cashier seemed not ok with his decision. I let her know that they could take the sandwich and change it for the correct portion. The cashier did not thank me for my purchase. As we sat down to eat the cashier seemed to follow us near our table but still behind a counter where the bread is served in a way that felt taunting and she was on her cell phone texting and glaring over at our table our entire meal. We did not eat comfortably the whole dinning experience was very unpleasant. The manager did come to our table after our meal to ask if everything was was okay beside what happened . And offered us pecan pie, pralines or ice cream . We thanked him but declined
I gotta give it to yall. This is the FIRST time that I have gone through this drive thru and actually received the order that I placed!!! Idk if there is change in management, or what but PLEASE keep it up. Ive boycotted this place for a year, so I plan to be back as long as this is kept.
Disgusting food. Ordered a burger. Tasted like warm, moist cardboard and a gray meat like substance. I couldn’t get it into the garbage can fast enough and it made me mad enough to leave this review. Will never go there again. I make the mistake every year or so of driving through, then once the food touches my mouth I am reminded why I never go here.
I like Dickeys. They have barbequed turkey, chicken, tacos, as well as brisket, ribs and sausage. Also have several hot sides. Its set like a buffet line. So, its quick. Love their bread! But dont get their chicken fried steak! Their baked potatoes are huge!! I like it when they put chopped beef on the baked potato! They have a soft Ive cream machine and have cobblers and pies also for dessert.
We visited the Dickys at 5530 South Cooper St. Arlington Tx, it had delicious meat, rolls and sauce, the tea was real good, great condiment bar, peach cobbler was also good. The restaurant was clean and comfortable the bathrooms were also clean. I had the cream spinach and I have to say it was not my favorite it looked like it had like can spinach and maybe some frozen spinach they were differant colors it just was not very flavorful. I would recommend this place plus they also have a good size meeting room.
I really like Dickies, but unfortunately this branch is the closest to my home. I think today was the last straw for me in ordering from this place. Half of the time I order to go from this Dickies, they leave off my side. Today not only did they forget TWO of my sides but they got my order wrong - and I paid for $40 for 3 peoples LUNCH DEALS. It is VERY frustrating. Come on guys have some process for the to go orders! 2 Stars (as opposed to 1) cause the food is pretty good.
Where to begin they didnt have the heater on in the dining area when was ordering my food the meats were at minimum a warm temperature along with the self serve sides were cold then went to put my food down on the table to get more bbq sauce from condiment area and that as well was not not even warm and even noticed the other few customers that were there were eating fast because again no heat in dining area it was just overall bad experience dont think Ill ever return to this place
We orderd cornbread dressing here for Thanksgiving. In the past it was good but this year it was terrible! Had huge chunks of carrots no flavor. No one asked for seconds. I heard these items were supplied by US Foods....they failed and dont even get me started on the horrible banana pudding!
2/27/2015Dickeys on Copper St. Arlington Texas is terribly. And when I complained nothing was done to correct it. Oh, I did get a Im sorry. My son and I had a to-go order of their two meat comb. Brisket and sausage. The guy cutting the meat was taking the little scraps of meat and putting them ON TOP of the brisket before slicing it. Like a dummy I forgot to check our order before leaving, due to fact that we waited in line for over30 min. When we got home and looked at our order and I hit the ceiling. Both orders: The sliced sausage amount would measure maybe 3 long. Both orders : brisket had 3 slices (very small pieces), and I mean small. The rest consisted of the SCRAP pieces I mentioned. All of this crap cost us close to $30.00.If you want good barbecue, DO NOT, DO NOT go to Dickeys. Ive always said There is no such thing as bad barbecue. I WAS WRONG !!!!!
This place has really gone down hill. Had pulled pork plate, meat ok not great. If I have to pour BBQ sauce on it, its not that good. I had to wait on the fried okra, when I got it was raw in the center, had no taste and I sent it back. The macaroni and cheese tasted and had the consistency of a frozen Stouffers dinner. (Im pretty sure they dont make it fresh), the kids chicken nuggets were the frozen dinosaur nuggets you buy at Wal Mart. They were no good. And lastly, the vanilla frozen ice cream had a funny aftertaste to it, kind of sour. The food did not sit well with me and I will never go to Dickies again.
Have been going there for years and everything always went well until going through the drive thru Friday night got the catfish plate with a side of okra and baked potato casseroleI dont know what their food safety procedures are but I got food poisoning from I believe the baked potato casserole ruined my whole weekendunfortunately I brought it over to my friends and he had some too and it made us both sick
Went through drive up on fathers day to order lunch when got back home was not the order I had placed completely different had to 5 miles back up their went in side never once did anyone they were sorry just said she made a mistake that does not make things better for ruining my fathers day a very poor service place.

2022-05-28Just left the drive thru and this is how my food look. The fried okra is definitely not fresh, you can tell it been sitting for awhile and hard as a rock. The bun on my sandwich was stale. This location is the worst Dickey’s I have been to.

2022-05-22Five stars for the service. Four stars for the food. The cashier noticed my walker and immediately picked up my tray and carried it to our table. I was blown away at the kindness and consideration. (I’m 25 so people don’t always take my disability seriously.)As far as the food most of it was really good! However the creamed spinach did not live up to its appearance. I hoped it would be really good creamy collard greens but it was too oniony and not in a good way. It just tasted like undercooked onions with a lack of seasoning. That being said, the rolls were outstanding! Fluffy with a nice salted butter.

2021-11-25Wow. How rude is the girl behind the counter. I prepaid my order. She could not find my order. She was rude, so unprofessional. I am understanding when there is a staff shortage. I understand workers are strained and busy getting orders out. But I do not understand unprofessional manners. She asked for my name 3 times. I gave her the order #. Then accused me of having the wrong place. Then a minute later gave me my order. Terrible service. And restaurant dirty. Dirty floors.

2022-02-26Stopped today (Saturday) at 1 pm and had a two meat plate. Restaurant was deserted (should have been my first clue) . The brisket was dry and ribs even drier. Definitely not fresh. Looked and tasted like from day before. When they served it it came out of tray covered with Saran Wrap. Not a great experience.

2022-07-06Place is clean except for bus trays and leftover food on cart left in dining room. Food is second tier bbq compared to Springcreek. A lot of good side dishes here though. Prices are high but fair for the quantity of food you get.

2022-05-19Please seal the customers orders, when we order through Door Dash/Uber Eats. It is unsafe, to be sending out, open bags of food. To protect the customers, please seal the bags. Be it with stickers, or staples. I dont feel safe eating my order. Because, the bag wasnt sealed. Just left wide open.

2022-05-22Lety was an excellent server. She noticed my daughter has a walker. She took her tray. I really appreciate thoughtfulness like this. Her smile brightened my day. The food was good as well.

2022-06-02Brisket by the pound was half fat hidden under the good. It was not a good deal. When I called them nobody could help me with the problem. I wont return.
