Very decent product selection and an extensive in season sports selections.Quality products with competitive prices.I purchased a Sole treadmill. Supervisor/mgr on duty had it waiting for me when I arrived. Good service in that regard.My biggest observation would be staffing fluctuations. It seems if I am down the main center isle (clothing) 5 employees ask if I need help, but if I am looking to purchase a large or expensive item I cant find help for the life of me. But for this issue I would give 4-5 stars.Fix this issue and I believe your sales will increase immediately.
I would like to give a shout out to Logan - he was at our cashiers desk and helped us with our questions. He was very respectful and had a very pleasant demeanor. Its customer service like this that makes people want to leave positive reviews immediately after exiting the store and already making plans to come back!Product wise it was like any other sporting shops with variety and quality brands but what makes them better is their customer service.
Its clean and the selection is okay but they are always out of sizes and often suggest things like, Sorry, I dont have a 10, but I have an 8 1/2 and a 13. Wanna try one of those? No. No that is not an option, but thanks and you shouldhold those up to each other so you know why, maybe...idk. 😒
Love the price match and helpful employees. I came just now on a busy inventory day was still acknowledged while browsing. I asked for help and get this, the guy works at another location so didn’t know much but went out of his way to help me find someone! I was amazed I wasn’t brushed off. I then saw a manager making sure the cash register was attended and when my cashier needed help someone came over in less then 2 minutes. The communication here is above and beyond. I love the team work and how everyone helped me today after my visit at the Frisco location. I will drive all the way out here again for the excellent service!
Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a very long time. The staff is clueless on customer service. I went in to buy a new bike for my son and basically just wandered aimlessly through the store without any help. When I found an employee he couldn’t answer any questions for me on sizing my son for the right bike. I thought there were employees trained in each area of the store and it’s clear that they are not. Dick’s is great if you want to buy a soccer ball but if you really don’t know what it is you need, be prepared to have to go somewhere else!
The service is incredibly slow here. I could not find anyone on the floor to help me so I had to wait in line at for the cashier to help me. There was only one cashier and a line of 5 people. He had to walkie someone over to help me to the area. Waited again. Then had to wait again in a line of 4 people to pay!!! I was buying an expensive item. They should have been more. Waste of time. Bad customer service.
Had a few bad experiences recently during checkout and has kept me from going back.Store is usually clean with random products in the walkways (I assume they pick them up). Decent amount of options. Staff is generally very nice, however after 20 minutes being stuck in a checkout line with a cranky toddler, I really began losing my patience. The biggest kicker was that multiple lanes opened afterwards, but they pulled people last in line instead of next in line. Not sure if this was because I had a crying toddler and no one wanted to deal with us, or if it was just thoughtless line management... but definitely frustrated and felt ignored during my last experience here.Hope others have a better experience!
I called to verify that an item was in stock. Drove all the way up there from Dallas. When I got there they said they had my item, but it was youth size, not regular men size. This was never disclosed through the phone otherwise I would not have gone! Once confronted, the guy at the front (high schooler) acted as though I was wrong somehow. Never shopping here again.
So from the beginning, we got to the store and asked if we could get the shoes since we looked them up and the size was in store, after saying yes the lady who doesn’t work in the shoe department just left and went to help someone else. wasn’t done until 30 minutes later. So we take our shoes to the cashier and he RETURNS ONE OF THE SHOES WE BOUGHT AND EXCHANGED IT FOR ONE OF THE OTHER SHOES WE BOUGHT. So then we go back and wait for the lady and she finally comes and takes forever but she finds our shoe, then we finally get to the cashier with four shoes and this one is a little smarter but it still took forever to explain to her that we weren’t buying three shoes and once she finally understood she had to take 20 minutes to void whatever the first guy did, then she had to return one shoe, take the money out, purchase one shoe, put the money back in, and then exchange the other set. and then finally we did it
I can see why people love this place. However, I cant say that I really do. I never see any employees walking around or even visible other than the registers, if I needed help. While they have a great selection in athletic wear, in particular, they seem to be so overpriced. The store is large and they carry stuff for just about every sport, I think. If you were in a pinch and couldnt find something anywhere else, you probably would find a solution here.
Not very impressed. We went to get my daughter some basketball shorts (shes in kinder basketball). The boy section had at least 15 different styles and sizes. She didnt like those so we went to the girls section,😒😒 2 styles, black with white stripes or white with black stripes. Not a single one in her size. So I go online, had a lil better luck they had 4 styles. Order her a pair in her size all is good till 3 days later they message me and say sorry your order was cancelled due to not having it in inventory. Seriously this is the last time I shop here they either dont have the size we need or just outright dont have what I need.
I stopped by this store today to exchange a shoe I bought my son 2 weeks ago for a bigger size. Right at the front there were 2 employees standing around the front desk talking to another employee as she was checking out guests and discussing if they are going to the dog park later. I walk over to the shoe department which had a few guests on the floor looking for help with no employees to be found. I waited 5 minutes before a girl came over to help and looked up three pairs which had none in the size I needed. I looked for more shoes and another employee came by after waiting another 5 minutes to flag him. Took him another 10 minutes before he came back to tell me those shoes are also sold out in that size. I asked oh what other shoes do you have in a size 2 when the first employee interjects and said maam our backs are against the wall we are sold and you can go somewhere elseWow really? I am completed shocked that this is the reponse you give a customer when they are asking for a suggestion and who spent 30 minutes in the store to find no shoes. I even asked for a manager and was told they are busy right now it will be a minute. I will happily take my business else where because after today you lost me.
I ordered a weight set online to be picked up in the store. I received the notification that my order was ready to be picked up. When I arrived all of the workers looked at one another trying to figure out who would go get the weight set. Ive been here at the front waiting for 15 minutes as I see all the associates helping other customers. Did they really forget about me?Whats the point of ordering online and getting a notification that its ready if its not really ready when I get here?
Excellent experience with the staff at The Village of Allen location of Dicks Sporting Goods. The store is very clean, organized, and well stocked. Ample parking, easy to access from Central Expressway and feeder streets. Management is helpful and cashiers are quick, polite and friendly!
We like Dicks sporting goods because they have good prices and selection of stuff. We went in looking for water shoes which we searched for and finally found on the second floor. We looked for someone to help with the selection and there was no one on the second floor to ask. We ended up deciding they did not have something we liked and left.
Great products... I will say the staff does help if you ask but no one is going to come up to you and ask if you need help. They have a nice selection of workout machines, workout clothes, and shoes. They don’t clean up during the day... when I went the hats were everywhere the were all over the floor, on the wrong shelf’s.
Purchased an open box bike rack. I was looking for a 2 bike rack and there were none new. They did have one that was returned. When I asked the person managing the area if there was anything wrong she stated no. No fault of hers but the rack was missing pieces that hold the clamps on the arms. Did not know that at the time. We were traveling 75 mph down I35 when both bikes fell off of one arm. Luckily not the other. Our bikes were 3 inches from falling off. We were able to make it to another retailer and buy another new rack. Some slight damage to the trunk of the car as well.
Dont buy a bike here. If you ever need to have it repaired, dont expect them to fix it. Our experience has been that they have NO clue what they are doing (weve experienced 3 bike purcheses with them). After 2 months of pestering them about getting our bike back, it is never fixed.... So, spend the extra few bucks and go to a nice bike store with better customer service.
Staff is atrocious. They dont seem to care whats happening or have any interest in moving faster. They didnt handle the online pick-up properly or timely or really care that they were at work. Employees were behind the customer service counter without badges, were sitting on furniture chatting, and while browsing the store were almost in possible to find anywhere except huddled together chatting. Miserable experience, which is starting to become the standard here in Dallas for Dicks, a company Ive been loyal to since buying my first baseball bat there when I was in middle school. In the words of Trump: sad.
The customer service here is well 2 stars... Called to see if they had a baseball bat for my son, they made it seem like they didnt want to go check for me. When they did go check they said they had it in stock for $247.00. Went to the store and they ended up not having the bat we wanted even though I gave them the item #, the price was not right either the next size up was $347 dollars. I would go to Monkey Sports store on E Bethany and 75 that has everything you need in stock.
I was in the store for 20 minutes and could not find anyone to help me. I asked a check out girl for help and was told to meet help by the escalator. No one came. First time I have been disappointed in Dicks. I was told to go to Dicks by a salesman at Cabelas. Good for Cabelas bad for Dicks.
The girl at the checkout talked me into opening a Dicks credit card with the promise that I would get 12 months same as cash. I got my first bill and there was an outrageous interest charge on the card. I call the credit card company and they said that it was not true and wouldnt adjust it. So I promptly paid the card completely off and closed the account.
Dicks is always a good place to go shopping for your sporting needs. Its not very often that I go here looking for something and dont find at least one of them. Wish they were a little more cost efficient as thing seems a little expensive here, but thats okay because the variety is usually very good.
Big issue for me is that Dicks has clearly shifted emphasis from the outdoorsman to the metro sports. The store screams this emphasis and no longer cares about me. Contrast it with more outdoor stores like bass pro and cabelas. Ok. Ill shop them rather than struggle to find good merchandise at fair prices.
Terrible! Went to exchange a Christmas gift. They were out of the size I needed so they gave me a refund on a gift card but I had to go to shoes to order on line and because they are the only ones in the store that can over-ride the non sale price. I never was able to order because on line was out of the item too... Left the store shaking my head and a gift card I dont want or need!
This place is infuriating. Trying to find help is pointless. How are you supposed to try on shoes when there is no one around to help you. Then when you do manage to flag someone down you better hope that one pair fits, because they disappear again. All high school students who could care less. Long lines at check out and horrible staff.. no thanks..
This may be just a pet peeve of mine but standing in line to check out at the front was a girl at the customer service desk visiting with a young man wearing a headset, obviously working there who noticed that there was myself standing in line as well as three others behind me. And only after the two had chit chatted about something that happened in their personal lives did he decide two take me to a register where the light was already on and proceed to check me out. The question is why did I have to wait 10 to 12 minutes before that happened? You know how it is when you stand in line, 10 minutes feels like 30...

2022-04-24I went there to buy running shoes.Awful.1. Extreme greed - prices. It would be ok, I understand struggle of modern non- online shop.But.In shoe store they give 1 (one!) shoe and then, in one shoe you have to run finding another and reason is that just customer to not steal those precious shoes… you know guys, leave those shoes to yourselves.2. They hired those young folks with dreads haircuts with no desire to work. You need to wait for his attention and wait while he s lost for 20 min in back store… no attention or respect for customers. Don’t hire them.3. Shoes collection is only good for going to posh rap party. Not for running in park for a grown up.F. them. Let rappers be their audience.

2021-09-05We went today to make a large purchase, of mostly workout clothes! Store was great, customer service was great, however, Sharron was just unbelievable! Very kind and helpful!Also Mateo was extremely nice!Great team great store!

2022-04-08Big shout out to the guy working upstairs and the manager for letting a $1000 sale walk out of the store because they would not swap the exact rim off another bike that was not damaged because the didnt have anyone working in that department. Im a heavy equipment mechanic and operator it would have taken 2 minutes to swap the wheel. I was there ready to buy and did not have time to come back tomorrow as they had instructed. Found the same product for the same price at Sun and Ski sports with way more helpful people.

2022-01-14I bought a very nice TaylorMade driver as a Christmas gift this year. After about two dozen swings the head dislodged, which was surprising enough. I returned the defective product to my local Dick’s for an exchange (with receipt), only to be told that Dick’s doesn’t perform repair work and that I would have to take it up with the manufacturer. I will, without question, take it up with TaylorMade but will never spend another dime at Dick’s. I refuse to do business with a company that doesn’t stand behind the products they sell and support their customers. With the competitive nature of today’s retail environment it seems as though Dick’s is looking to go out of business. That’s unfortunate as I’ve been a long time customer of Dick’s but as of now that relationship is over.

2021-06-22Great selection and helpful staff. I especially like that they have a tablet with a barcode scanner where you can see if they have your size shoe in stock. They also offer great discounts for youth sports leagues.

2020-09-01Spent 20 mins parked in front of the store waiting for my curbside pickup item to be brought out. When I received notification that my item was ready, I headed to the store. When I got there, I followed the instructions in my email to check-in. After waiting 10 mins, I submitted the online check-in form again. After another 5 mins, I called the store to let them know I was there. A few minutes after that, I finally had my item. I had my small child with me, otherwise I probably wouldnt have waited that long and would have walked in. Overall, it would have been faster for me to drive there, go inside, find the item myself, purchase it, and drive home. Definitely not worth the negligible monetary savings. Next time, Ill patron a big box store or online store I trust.
