I went with my large family including my two nephews, and we had the best time! The staff is extremely incredible and friendly. It is a great place to go and relax, but if you want more than that all you gotta do is ask. I was able to get to know a bunch of the horses in the 3 days i was there and that was an epic experience for me.Sean, Garrett, and Tammy made this the best part of our vacation for me! I already want to go back lol.
We went for a one hour horse ride. It was the best price around for a genuine dude ranch. What a cool place with tonnes of history! The view from the top of the ride was nice and people were friendly. As it is a steep rocky landscape, dont expect to do anything other that walking on your horse. Would love to stay at the ranch longer next time! Only negatives were that our ride was slightly under an hour to be finished by lunch, and the ride leader wasnt incredibly outgoing, so we didnt learn anything during the ride.
My husband and I needed a little break from work and coming to the Dixie Dude Ranch was an unforgettable experience. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxing and we were treated like family. We went horse back riding in the morning and in the afternoon with Ruthie and Charlie. The home cooked meals were delicious. The pool was refreshing and the hot tub was relaxing. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart and I can’t wait to go back!! Mr. Clay Thank you for sharing your beautiful and special place with the world.
If you are looking for an all inclusive stay with an authentic cowboy/cowgirl experience, look no further. Dont expect your cabin to be anything but rustic and simple but do expect great Texas cuisine, three times a day served family style. Do expect to meet people from all over the world sharing the same western experience. Grab those reins and say YEE-HAW on a guided horse ride up to three times a day if you want or take dip in the pool or hot tub. Go fishing in the pond with provided rods and reels, walk the trails on 725 acres of pristine Texas Hill Country or simply take in the views. Downtown Bandera is a guick10 minutes if you want to experience true cowboy nightlife. Kid friendly to the max. Evening entertainment varies form cowboy guitar singing around the campfire to picture taking atop a longhorn cow. GTEAT TIMES FOR ALL.
Just wrapped up a fabulous weekend at the Dixie dude ranch as a mother daughter get away. It was everything we could have hoped for and more! The home cooked food was outstanding, cozy accommodations, unlimited horseback riding.. but the people are who made it so memorable, friendships made we will cherish forever! What a wonderful get away to disconnect to reconnect. We can’t wait to come back to this special gem. I have to add in as well, the town of Bandera which is a short trip from the ranch is absolutely charming and so much fun!
Went with my hubby for our 5 year anniversary and absolutely loved it! Had always been on my bucket list to go to a dude ranch ever since I was a child and it did not disappoint! Amazing food, amazing views, amazing hospitality... just overall amazing! Sad to leave but will definitely be back!!
As a single mom with three kids this family-like environment was exactly what I didn’t even know I needed to end the summer. Relaxed, nostalgic, good food, friendly staff… We left very late the night before checkout and my 5 year old was sad because he couldn’t find his Spider-Man lego. Imagine our surprise when a few days later we found it in the mailbox!!! They’d taken the time to send it back. The smile on his face. Priceless.
I have no idea why anyone would ever give Dixie Dude Ranch anything but five stars! This place is a GEM. What makes it so special?1. The entire ranch. This rustic, working ranch is nestled in Bandera, TX amid the hills. The grounds are open and beautiful to explore. The property has a pool, which is heated in October and November, a hot tub, a playground, plenty of firepits, seating, a ping pong table, goats, horses and a horse stable, and a main lodge. Our kids loved playing and exploring, while we loved gathering around the fire pits. There is enough wide open space to spread out, or common areas to gather and chat with other guests. Watching the sunrise and sunset was incredible, but the star gazing out here is what truly took our breath away.2. The food. What a treat to sit down to a delicious and filling meal, served family style. Youll need for nothing - with three meals a day, the staff made so much food. We were excited for a breakfast of pancakes, sausages and fruit, following by a lunch of spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and fresh veggies, and then had a dinner of the best BBQ Ive had in a long time, with all of the fixings. It was so lovely to be spoiled with great homemade food for every meal. We never lifted a finger - the staff does an excellent job of spoiling you so much during meal times!3. The cabins. Adorable, cozy, comfy, all you need for a weekend away! My kids loved the bunk beds, we were happy in our bed, and had plenty of space for all our stuff. No mini fridge in ours, so if that is something you need, make sure you ask which cabins have that. And if you want a working fireplace, same thing - just ask the staff which cabins have that! They are all special and unique!4. The activities! We were thrilled to have horseback riding included with our stay twice a day. We loved the rides. As a first time rider, the staff was incredibly supportive and helpful. My six year old even rode on his own for the first time! You can also ride in a more advanced ride, which they offer to those who dont need as much assistance as us beginners do. The horses are well loved, well cared for, and well trained and I could just relax and enjoy the views. And the ranch has entertainment daily - the first night we had a roper who was fantastic and the second day we went on a hayride to see the Longhorns. Such an epic treat!5. THE PEOPLE. The people make this place special. They are kind, humble, and hard working. The staff was nothing but gracious to us at all times. They have a special soft spot for kids and adored our children. Even the guests were good humored, like-minded, and there for fun - some were families, some were on mother/son or father/daughter trips, and some were celebrating romantic occasions. It was fun to see all the kids play so well together. We felt right at home here at the Ranch and leaving was hard.If you are looking for a fun adventure off the beaten path, you cant go wrong with staying here. Its fantastic.
This place is the epitome of family and friends. This was my second visit. I met the most amazing people while visiting. Im always treated with kindness and love. I absolutely love the staff. As always compliments to the staff that prepare the meals. You should never leave hungry. This is a great place to relax. I enjoy all the activities offered: hiking trails, horse back riding, fishing, swimming, hay ride, sitting on the porch, and a playground for the kids. Its very rustic and authentic. This is truly one of my favorite places on Earth!
This was an AMAZING ranch! We went for Spring Break 2021 with our 14, 12 and 9 year olds. They LOVED it so much!! They did not want to leave. Alex and Kim greeted us with big Texas smiles and everyone was so friendly. The Dixie Dude Ranch provided a place for our kids to run, fish, play with other kids, horseback ride and relax. We called them “free range kids”. The food was fabulous, the activities were fun and the atmosphere was relaxing. The staff invited you to explore the rolling 700+ acres of beautiful Texas land. We will definitely be back to experience ranch life!
I dont leave many reviews, but this place was absolutely amazing!! I brought my girls each one-on-one for a mother/daughter trip and the staff went over and above to make it special for them! The trails were beautiful - both on the horse rides and some hiking we did on our own - the food was wonderful, atmosphere restful, family friendly, and exactly what we needed. Well definitely be back, thank you, Dixie Dude Ranch!
This place is the best! My husband and I went here for our honeymoon back in July. It was my second time coming and my husbands first. The prices may seem high but when you look at what it includes it really is a good deal! The prices does include 3 meals a day (except Sunday dinner) and 2 trail rides per day. The food was wonderful and the staff were very friendly! I am lactose intolerant and the kitchen staff were sure to make food that I could eat as soon as I told them. The cabins and rooms are super comfy and really spacious and the pool is the perfect size! The trail rides are beautiful and they do offer advanced rides if you ask for them. You do not have to leave the ranch for much but the town of Bandera is definitely worth checking out and the ranch is just a short drive away. There are a few other dude ranches in the area but this one is by far the best. We will be back!
Id give this place ten stars if I could. My wife, daughter and I have traveled to alot of different places and experienced alot of different accommodations and hospitality but none can come close to the awesome people at Dixie Dude Ranch. We dont have family close to us but they made us feel like we were staying with family. The food was amazing, scenery was beautiful and my six year old rode horses like she was born on one. The cowboys that guided us were so attentive to our little one that we never worried about her. Kim and Alec were the best hosts. We already have a trip planned for later in the year.
DECOMPRESS at The Dixie Dude Ranch. This was not our first visit, but our first time staying the weekend in a cabin. Hubby, 15 yr old daughter and myself thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rides were FANTASTIC!! Each ride we thought could not get any prettier - then we were proven wrong on the next ride. After we rode in the afternoon, which was HOT, we took a super refreshing dip in the pool. Great food, even greater staff - I have nothing but praise for them. They took care of all our needs and wants. I recommend The Wrangler Cabin. We got up on our last day to watch the sunrise over the hills. And to our surprise, the horses were all coming in from the pasture right across our front porch. A few of them even stopped to be petted. It was truly MAGICAL!!! We will definitely be back.
Highly recommended! The Ranch is an amazing place to heal stressed dudes, disconnect from the world and enjoy the time without other appointments but with the cowboys and the kitchen. The staff makes you feel family right away, the food is good and plenty, and you shouldnt miss the Cowbow Breakfast.
We (sadly) didnt stay here, we only went because we were told we might find longhorns there. The guy who greeted us was super friendly and helpful. He went to rattle the food bag to see if it would bring out the longhorns, and it did! If were ever in the area again we would definitely stay here!
My sister and I just returned home from there, and we loved it. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel at home on the ranch. The food was amazing, and there is a fire for roasting marshmallows every night. We enjoyed some beautiful hikes, and the views were breathtaking. The horses were well behaved, and the wranglers were a joy to ride with. If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet escape, this is the place for you.
This place is amazing. We just finished our spring break vacation and spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Dixie Dude Ranch. Perfect place for families. We had so much fun. This place is beautiful and the owners and staff are amazing. We can’t thank them all enough for the experience and memories. We will be back!
I LOVE THIS PLACE! I have been twice now and each time was an absolute blast. The staff is so friendly. The food is awesome. There is plenty to do. The property is gorgeous. The wranglers are sweethearts. It is so fun to meet people from all over in a quaint environment. This destination is definitely going to be at least an annual event. And typically I am a wanderer that likes to explore new places, so I rarely like to do the same thing twice. But I would go to the Dixie Dude Ranch as many times as I can make it happen!
Im a yearly fixture here, circa Spring Break. This is where I take my kids to unplug them from their electronics, and make a passing attempt to make them real Texans who have ridden horses. This is, ultimately, an existential experience.Do I find it annoying that there isnt broadband? Yeah... for a day. Then I get over it, and enjoy being unplugged myself. There are usually other kids for mine to play with, and they do all the things they dont do in suburbia -- climb trees, run around ditches, throw rocks, and scare one another around the camp fire. -- and thats exactly why I keep bringing them back. The horse rides are rather basic, but perfect for kids. Theyre also long, and through some beautiful country. There have been two occasions, however, where Ive been on fast rides, split off from the main party. They were awesome. Im sure this has something to do with being nice and friendly with the staff, rather than an entitled whiner ;)If youre looking for a few days away from it all, or have kids, or (as Ive observed) a nice rendezvous for an assignation, this is a great place.
No horses to ride. You will be given a mule. Horses that are on ranch are rescue. In a poor state of care..some blind. Its over priced and not value for money. Floors in public areas filthy. No entertainment on an evening. Swimming pool filthy and not in use. Kitchen staff provided lots of food if you like eggs and pasta. ...go elsewhere
The Dixie Dude Ranch is a must is you want to experience the real Texas lifestyle. Perfect for a multi-generational family to gather, eat great food, enjoy time to relax, visit, tell stories, be entertained. Perfect for kids of all ages. Plan your trip way in advance. They fill up fast.
Four of us had five days there in September 15. Had a fantastic time on a great ranch. Everyone who worked there was ambassador, from the team in the kitchen who did superb meals to the riders who took us out twice daily. Always took us somewhere different on the trails and made it special. Clay and his team made it a holiday to remember. Still dreaming of going back...
Have just returned from a glorious week in Paradise at the Dixie Dude Ranch. Service and hospitality were excellent and I would highly recommend it. I particularly loved the food, scenery and of course the horse-riding. I went on my own and everybody made me feel very welcome. Only downside is coming back!Kind regards to all the Staff and of course to Clay and Diane.Karla WinterCroydon, UK
Our family stayed on the ranch for a few days and had a wonderful experience. Our two boys (ages 7 and 8) cant stop talking about the horses and the ranch dogs. They asked me if we could go live there. All the wranglers were very friendly and polite and the daily horse rides were amazing. The view of the valley is unbelievable! Each meal is included and was really hearty and tasty! Each night they had entertainment (story tellers, cowboys songs, etc). Overall, the experience was great for any age!
Where do i start! Its the best Dude Ranch in Texas. 3 delicious meals included with the price 2 horse rides a day with numerous nature trails up hills valleys and mountains. My son and i love it! If i knew about it 10 years ago i would have made it a yearly stay for me and my boys. The ladies at the ranch are so nice god bless them. The guys there are quite what a cowboy is well reserve and they take riding serious so kids and adults stay safe. But at the same time ask them anything and they will teach you. Thank you for such a great experience Dixie Dude Ranch. Will be back next year with more kids and family! Lol
Went with my father, we truly enjoyed the place. People are so sweet and hospital. Nevertheless, the horses seemed overworked. I suggest there be intermediate periods for the horses to rest. I felt so bad and didn’t realize it until I rode one they seemed extremely exhausted.
Ive noticed people are saying this dude ranch is overpriced but everything is included in the price! I actually did the math and the other dude ranches around Bandera charge more per person per night but also charge extra for each horseback ride plus other activities. With Dixie, each guest gets 2 rides per day included plus breakfast lunch and dinner, all of which tasted phenomenal. Their staff was incredible. The wranglers were knowledgeable and accommodating. You really cant beat Dixie. I will definitely be back again!@Bubba, give Rooster a carrot for me ;) thanks for everything!!!
Completley stress free!! We had a fantastic experience at Dixie Dude Ranch! We stayed for 3 nights/4 days and left wishing we could stay at least one more night. All of the ladies that took care of us were SO welcoming and very nice. Let me tell you, they can cook with the best of them! The cowboys who conduct the rides daily (yes, plural.. a guest can ride 2x per day) were as authentic as it gets. They actually know all of the horses names; we heard a story about every one that we inquired on and each saddle is strictly for a particular horse. This leads me to mention how well the animals were cared for at Dixie Dude. 👍Be prepared to disengage from the outside world, as there is no cell service out there. A landline is available free of charge and WIFI is located inside the main building of the ranch. My family and I are looking forward to returning very soon! Thanks everyone for such an AMAZING time!
Beautiful ranch just outside of Bandera west of San Antonio. Peaceful and picturesque. Not only were the staff consistently welcoming, the food good and the horseriding fun, but having armadillos roaming and hummingbirds hanging around was a really nice cherry on the top.
My grandkids and I spent 2 WONDERFUL days at Dixie Dude Ranch. We loved the rustic cabins, the meals were very good and plentiful ( they keep serving as long as you keep eating) and the horse back rides were an hour each time on a different trail each time with very well trained horses (This was my first time riding a horse and I was scared to death, so the wranglers made sure I got a gentle horse were I felt comfortable). Everyone that works on the ranch is smiling and seems to love their job and they are eager to make sure your visit is the best possible experience you could have. Theres plenty of free time to hike the trails, fish in their pond (poles and bait furnished), play one of the many games in the lodge game closet, swim, play washers or throw horse shoes or just sit and watch the world go by. Great memories were made here that we will never forget.
The only horsebacking experience in Bandera that allows you to ride double with your children. They are also extremely courteous and friendly. The hill side trial is beautiful. The horsebacking ride is first reserved for overnight guests. If there is space they then accommodate guests wanting to just horseback riding. The ride is at a walking pace, up and down the hillside and through few bushes. There are several cowboys that help make sure your ride is the best experience it can be.
Amazing place! When I arrived I have to admit I didnt want to be there...just left a posh hotel to come to somewhere really rural...no internet no phone signal. Limited wifi. But oh my goodness when I left 2 days later I shed a tear. Its the most amazing relaxing fun rustic homely friendly place I have been. I would go again tomorrow! Its a must not miss! Although Im missing it! Take me back!
A painful experience and deep fear after what had happened to me! I stayed at the Dixie Dude Ranch from March 16-18 with my 7 years old daughter. I fell from the horseback and got a swollen head and a server back pain. The stuff told me the horse made a sudden jump because of a bird flying under his neck and scared him. But in that ranch there are birds everywhere!!!! I was even more scared because I could not imagine what if this happened during my first riding in the ranch where the road was basically maintain path and one side was steep valley! There are no warning, no protection, no proper training. More important, no substantive help after the accident. No one come to take care of my scared girl (it was another visitor who brought my daughter to the place I fell), no one came to my cabin say any comforting words ! They even cancelled the dinner at Sundays night and I had to drive my daughter to the town to have some food for her!!! I dont know there is the hospitality they boosted. I paid them USD533.00 in exchange of an ever painful march break! The 44.00 USD tips I paid are not for the owner but the stuff working in the kitchen. The waitress offered me an ice pad! The only thing I got from there. Terrible!
Incredible experience! My wife and I wanted to give our twin 12-year old girls a dude ranch experience as we both fondly remembered when we had gone to dude ranches as kids, when we were their age over 40 years ago. Dixie Dude Ranch was awesome. First of all, we loved the fact that there was no cellular service at the ranch. So, we were all forced to totally tune out the outside world, which we all welcomed. When we arrived we were greeted by a welcoming staff who knew our name before we even walked in the door. After getting an overview of how the meals and horseback riding worked, we then went to our cabin. While certainly rustic, the cabin was very clean and welcoming just like the staff. The dude ranch was a truly authentic experience. We did horseback riding, a hayride, swimming, fishing, played horseshoes, had smores by a campfire, stargazed, and met some incredible people from Scotland, the UK and France. The food was traditional cowboy fare. We had BBQ chicken and sausage the first night and a pork dish the second night. We had many highlights during our stay at Dixie Dude Ranch. The top highlight was the cowboy outdoor breakfast. On Mondays and Fridays the ranch has a cowboy breakfast where you ride up on horses for about 45 minutes to a beautiful spot on top of the hill country. Upon arrival at the breakfast spot, we had a delicious breakfast including eggs, biscuits and gravy, and coffee made on a campfire. Then after the wonderful breakfast we hopped back on our horses for another beautiful ride back down. Not everyone got to ride the horses to and from the cowboy breakfast, some went there and back on a hayride. But, since we were leaving Friday afternoon we got to ride the horses up as that served as our final horseback ride. The cowboy breakfast was truly an experience of a lifetime. The next highlight was being able to take my twin girls fishing for the first time. The ranch provided us with fishing poles and bait at no extra charge. What really made the experience incredible though was one of the ranchs dogs, Pancho, saw us with the fishing poles. He barked at us as we were leaving to find the pond to fish. Then, he trotted up to us and showed us exactly how to get to the pond. The dog then stayed with us the entire time we fished and then led us back to the ranch when we were done. I have never seen a dog do something like that before and it really made our first daddy-daughter fishing experience one I will always fondly remember. The final highlight was the incredible stargazing. My older twin daughter and I on both nights sat out on Adriondack chairs provided by the ranch for hours until past midnight just gazing at the stars. Because the ranch is so secluded there is little to no light pollution and we were able to see millions of stars. It was breathtaking. In all, the horseback riding was great, the staff and the wranglers were friendly and very accommodating, the food was delicious, and the setting and experience as a whole was one we will always cherish. We hope to be able to return sometime soon.Just a couple of tips. You are able to bring alcohol to the ranch. So, if you enjoy a good adult beverage, be sure to stock up on your way to the ranch. Secondly, you might want to bring your own pillow as the pillows were a bit small for our liking. Thirdly, while the ranch provides marshmallows and sticks for the campfire, if you want the full smores experience be sure to bring your own chocolate and graham crackers. Fourthly, understand that there is no cell service. You can get on WiFi in the main building. But, tell your friends and family that if they try reaching you while you are at the ranch not to expect an immediate response. With that being said, if you want an incredible western experience, Dixie Dude is phenomenal. My only regret was staying only 2 nights. I wish we had stayed for at least a third night. From the staff, to the food, to the wonderful authentically western experiences, Dixie Dude Ranch is a tremendous place to visit.
We went here in March and it was one of the best vacations weve ever been on! Very child friendly! My two year old still hollers yeeehaaw Bubba (let Bubba know he still remembers him) every time he gets on Sox which is a toy horse we got at their gift shop that has the same colors as Sox their horse. All of the employees were the best. The food was amazing. Took the wife a bit of convincing to get me to go to a dude ranch, However im SO glad it worked! We have another little boy coming in November so well be coming back for more of Joes singing by the fire! Thanks again for a great time! Hopefully see yall sooner than later!Mitch
Took my family of 5 to Dixie. Ages 10, 8 boys and 5 year old girl. We had a great time there. This is a must know....this is a ranch in the Hill Country of Texas. It is rustic, there are horses, goats and they also have some Feral Hogs penned up there as well. You are staying in what look and feel like cabins on a ranch. This does not have a Resort fell to it. We just went the first week of August, 2011. We chose this one because they allow 5 year old riding if the child is calm and alert, or they allow riding double. Our 5 year old daughter rode solo, and I saw 2 year olds riding double. The riding: you are riding through the Texas Hill Country, it is Rocky, Dusty and Beautiful. The Wranglers, Dave, Brandi and Rory were absolutely awesome. They were constantly paying attention to every detail. You arent running the horses or off on your own if that is what you want, these are trail rides that are a slow, relaxing walk. THe kids had an absolute blast. We got to ride twice a day, and we arrived at 3pm and were able to ride the evening we got there and also ride the morning we checked out.The accomodations are rustic, the pool is nice, was very nice. As someone mentioned, the kiddie pool has a lot of dirt at the bottom, I believe a symptom of the dust in the wind there. Our kids didnt get in the kiddie pool, they spent hours jumping in the 9 foot end over and over.I took the boys on a 2 hour hike up to a cave, and had a really good time with it, but Im an outdoorsman and enjoy the hot, rocky Hill Country. Bring sunscreen, this is Texas, the sun is hot from May through October.Food was southern home style cooking. It is family style, plates full of Chicken Fried Steak, Green Beans, and more food than I needed constantly. Friday morning we took a trail ride up to a Cowboy Breakfast up at the top of a Hill, really awesome. All the meals were tons and tons of food. One suggestion, bring hiking boots/shoes, bring some cards, dominoes, board games to sit and have some fun with the Family... NOT watching TV. We played Horse Shoes and Washers (if you dont know washers, youre not from Texas). Also the kids played ping pong. Also, bring flashlights, we had the kids hunt frogs after dark an caught two.The fishing hole was completely dry, Texas is in the middle of an amazing drought, so this is not suprising, lakes and ponds are dry all over Texas right now.We went to town for a small Friday night Rodeo, really cool. Also, they brought in entertainment at night, a great trick roper one night, country dancing lessons, and rides on a Texas Longhorn for the kids another night. They provide some fun, but the place is built for you to make your own fun, its not an amusement park. The kids told me it was one of their favorite vacations ever, but they love animals (3 beautiful Yellow Labs there too) and horses and hiking just like me.
Unfortunately we were only at the ranch for 4 days! It was a great experience! The hosts go out of their way and run the ranch like a family, including the guests! The horses are in good condition and easy to ride! However, horse riding is very high! Riders are m. E. not in the right place! Its like being pulled on a string and the horses know what theyre doing! Also suitable for complete beginners! Its still a lot of fun! The ride for breakfast with a visit to the Longhorns will always be remembered! Treat yourself, if you are not completely shy of horses! We will come back!It doesnt really matter that the accommodations are nice and the meals are good! Of course you shouldnt expect star cuisine! Thank you to the ranch owners and staff, everyone is very, very kind!
Soft country music could be heard from the stables and warm light shimmered through the wooden walls! I wanted to hold onto that feeling forever. I stood there on the porch for a while until I walked back to our cottage through the warm night air.Our 3 days passed too quickly. Right from the start, you have the feeling of being part of a big family. We eat and ride together. From the veranda of the main house you can watch hummingbirds and dogs and cats are always around you. Just like them, cattle, longhorns and horses also belong to the court. In the evenings we were always offered a short program to bring us closer to the lifestyle, the history and the people of the region. With live music or longhorn riding you could immerse yourself for a moment in the old western days.A place to dream and relax, where the price-performance ratio is consistent.Thank you for these unforgettable days.

2022-06-30We stayed for 2 nights at the DDR as part of a road trip around Texas. The rooms are clean and simple, to be honest we hardly spent any time in the room at all! There was horse back riding, some great hiking trails and so much nature to see and admire. The food was amazing, you definitely wont go hungry on the ranch! We spent the evenings in the pool and after the sun had set, in the hot tub. Overall, we had the best time with great memories made.

2022-07-03Just amazing. The whole experience was just perfect. Simple and rustic in the best ways. The food is amazing. The entertainment is simple but provides plenty of fun. I’m pretty sure my daughter is in love with Killer the horse and has already asked too many times when we can go back. I loved meeting folks from all over the world. Great way to relax and recharge.

2022-06-23Our second time here because our granddaughter requested we come back. So three years later here we are again and just as pleased as the first time.Come with an appetite and a smile and get ready to meet new friends from around the world. The food here is amazing, made from scratch by three smiling ladies waiting on you better than any 5-star restaurant. It’s served family style at long tables with benches so you can meet and strike up a conversation with your table mates.Ride horses, take a dip in the pool, take naps, read a book and disconnect from the world. No cell service! (But great WiFi)The ranch dogs, Pancho & Pecos will greet you at the front door, Kevin the peacock (yes, a real, live peacock) will hang around and occasionally crow like a rooster. But the best part of DDR is the staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful, including the owner who is there everyday. The property has been in the family for five generations. You can’t go wrong here and your kids will remember this experience for the rest of their lives.

2022-03-29Our visit to the Dixie Dude Ranch was amazing! Our 7 and 5 year old had the best time ever! We went for daily horseback rides, swam in the pool, enjoyed cowboy songs around the bonfire, and did lots of front porch sittin’. The accommodations were clean comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I brought a bunch of snacks because I was afraid we’d want to snack during the day, but the meals were delicious and hearty and I’m leaving with all the snacks I brought. Horseback riding, especially for my kids, was an absolute highlight - coming from Michigan this was a first for us. Great family atmosphere! Our kids met many other nice kids and had a blast playing together. The family style meals encourage getting to know other guests - just an overall great atmosphere and experience. We highly recommend!

2022-06-13A magical place. Almost everyone falls in love with it. Heaven on earth for kids. People who come here come back year after year!
