Dos Juanitos Mexican Food in other cities:
Absolutely terrible. Be aware prices are significantly higher in person than listed on website. Fish tacos are fish sticks with some lettuce and ciltrano. Asada was tender but extremely bland. Tripas fried and soft, tasted dirty. Asada fries are huge but aldo very bland. Fries were undercooked and soggy. Guacamole on the fries lacked any flavor. I imagine this would be great after the bar or several drinks, but definitely not sober.
So far the best carne asada burritos outside of California. Being most of Texas does not know what carne asada is. This place has delicious burritos. They would get five stars if the staff was consistently friendly. Theres some times at the drive-thru window but they just want to move you a long like cattle. And then other times staff is amazingly friendly. It just depends on who you get. But the food is delicious.
Ordered a torta, horchata, Dr pepper, Rice, beans, and a taco -- all very affordable. I was shocked how much I didnt end up spending on so the food I got. Which service and very tasty. Good menu and nice little extras bar up front to get limes and other good additions. Horchata was very tasty and the pastor was exactly how I wanted it.
I have eaten here the last 3 weeks and ordered the same thing each time. 3 breakfast burrito and every time the eggs were hard and brown just way over cooked, last week the potatoes were not soft and still hard. We have always liked this place for breakfast and lunch but after today we will not spend another dime here.👎
Don Juanitos is excellent. You have to try their carne asada fries, they are delicious. The young man working behind the counter was very friendly and took the time to walk us through their menu and offer suggestions. The restaurant itself was very clean and neat. If you are in Burleson this is a must try place in my book!
**UPDATE: I still LOVE coming here! I completely & wholeheartedly stand by what I originally said. 🤤😌ORIGINAL POST: Ive tried a LOT of Mexican food places in Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Arlington. I drive 18 miles there & 18 miles back JUST for Dos Juanitos. Takes about an hour all together. I cannot speak for what its like on the inside. I always go to the Drive-Thru. But this food is bomb af! I come here about 3-5x a week. Im trying to limit how many times I go but the friendly service, rice & beans, plus the green sauce is what keeps me coming back! Dont take my word for it...go right ahead and give em a try! Tip VERY well too please. They DESERVE it!
I have been looking for a great Mexican restaurant since moving to Burleson, for some reason this place never stood out to me. Tonight I was driving home and took the wrong turn and bam there it was it was fate! This place was amazing I love the food! Service was great also! My family and I will be back!
As a San Diego native finding this gem of a taco shop was so awesome. Food is fresh, taste just like the food back home. Staff was very friendly. Super nachos, sopes, breakfast burritos and rolled tacos were delicious. Definitely my new go-to spot when I am craving Mexican food.
Im only going to comment about my order. All their food may not be as bad as what I ordered!! I dined in and ordered the #1 for $8.95 it came with an enchilada I asked for beef and it came with a beef taco rice and beans and ordered a medium drink bill was over $11.00. Problem #1 Both the taco and the enchilada was made from shredded beef and it chewed like beef jerky. Problem #2 the price of their meals was that of an expensive restaurant and the food is being served from a take out style establishment. And what was worse about the situation is the food is being served on a styrofoam plate and having to eat it with a plastic fork. Have you ever tried to cut shredded beef with a plastic fork?? And worse trying to cut beef jerky shredded beef with a plastic fork. Beans and rice was OK. I thought it was a mistake to stop and eat there but I thought what the heck Ill give them a try. I will not be back I left my meal on the counter after only taking one bite of the enchilada and 1 bite of the taco and the flavor was bland as with most products made with shredded beef, and one bite of the rice and beans. I feel I did not get my moneys worth of food even if it had tasted good it was still over priced!!
I was stationed in San Diego for a decade, in 2002 and I had my first sight, smell and taste of a Carne Asada Burrito. When I moved here, it was hard not having this food and then I found this spot, oh man all Im missing is the salt in the air and the ships on the water!! Keep up the good work!!!
Menudo wasn’t not very good at this place compared to others I’ve had. Try Taco Chon Menudo then compare to this menudo and you’ll see a difference. Tacos from here were also dry and not very good. Even with lots of lime and salsa, meat was still dry. It was our first time here so I’ll give it another chance but order other menu items since I know what their carne asada and chicken tacos, along with their menudo, tastes like. I wasn’t a fan.
Dont kill me, I didnt really like this place for DINNER. We picked up thru the drive and took this food home. I had the mixed enchiladas added rice and beans. I felt like I was eating food that was left under a heat lamp. When I opened my Styrofoam box all the food slid to one side with by all the grease in the box. I went in to take a bite and it was piping hot and dry (this is what makes me think it was sitting in a water heat bucket or under a lamp for a bit). Maybe I went at a bad time (6pm Sunday) BUT there breakfast is great which is why I gave it a 3. We usually get the Burleson Burrito, its the green hot sauce that makes it the best. (Fire!!) The food is way over priced! This trip that pushed me to give a 3 we paid for a breakfast Burrito, mixed enchilada plate added rice and beans, cheese enchilada and 2 drinks $40. Maybe I am just use to our traditional tex Mex food. Sorry Dos!
Went for the first time yesterday and chose the drive thru option. We ordered a breakfast burrito and some breakfast tacos. Very authentic, served freshly made, hot and so delicious! Some places do not have good chorizo, this place does. I am hooked! I kept thinking of going back for more all day! Oh, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Absolutely recommend. I know I will be back, often!
The food is good but overpriced for small portions. The menudo barely has a few pieces of meat but costs as much as other places or more that are just as good but give you a full bowl. Not worth the cost. The carne guisada is good but it needs more flavor and again a larger portion for the high price. As far as Mexican taste its good better than a lot of other places but the portions are too small for the money and some things are a little bland for real Mexican food
My family and I were so excited to try this restaurant! After seeing how highly rated this restaurant was, our mouths were watering at the prospect of some delicious, authentic breakfast tacos.I’m really not sure what happened since the other reviewers tried this restaurant. Perhaps the normal cook didn’t show up for their shift. Either way, the tacos were an unrecognizable, inedible mess.I’m actually not sure how it is possible to mess up a taco this badly. The chef somehow transcended the laws of physics, managing to produce potatoes that were simultaneously burnt, soggy, and undercooked. We ordered pot/egg/chs and bacon/egg/chs but got pot/ham/egg/chs on all of them. Along with some unidentifiable crumbly bits that we would have needed to send to a lab for identification.Despite the numerous ingredients, all we could taste was what we believe to have been the remnants of a dirty grill. Honestly, I think I’d rather lick a grill than have another of these.I’m sure that all 700+ reviews can’t be wrong, but beware when you roll the dice at this establishment!
First timer. Drive through went smoothly and I got my food in a timely manner. Ate in parking lot. Got the #1 which is a taco and cheese enchilada. Taco was okay rice and beans werent bad. A bit on the bland side. Enchilada was cold and had a lot of lettuce on it. Sauces were ok as well. Overall it was mediocre.
Horrible mexican food, all these people giving it high reviews obviously never had California mexican food, they have no idea how to cook tripa correctly, big pieces, plus it was super chewy, 🤢Tripa is suppose to be cut into tiny pieces and cooked till crispy, beans and rice super mediocre, carne asada had no flavor, Ive had better food at gas stations
Only restaurant that it’s still shut down due to the Corona Virus! I had to order to go! Definitely not impressed with the Food whatsoever! My 5 year old can do a way better presentation than that! I do not recommend even if you are starving! Just stop by McDonald’s and get you anything else. I promise you will regret it!
I was so surprised by the amount of food I got for the price! Excellent service, good flavors! Ill definitely go again. The loaded fries were a feast! They are family sized so maybe not something to order for one person....I DIDNT KNOW!!!I ALSO ordered the Al pastor burrito, their flour tortillas are fabulous and half was plenty to fill me up!
Pre-Covid this was acceptable as a Mexican food substitute when we didnt want to drive out of town. Last few times, order has been wrong, tasteless, and definitely over priced. Today, got tacos that are quarter filled, NO flavor, using what appears to be pre-packaged taco shells 🤢🤮 and Soo soggy it could only be eaten using a spoon 🤬 at least the frozen shoestring fries were crispy this time 🙄 most definitely zero stars worth
I love stopping here for all their offerings. I mostly get the chimichanga plate. Outstanding! I love that I can call my orders ahead and pick them up on the go. Love the folks who work here. Hard working, polite, and very helpful. Great food, great taste, and great price. Why eat fast Mexican when you can get a meal to go here? Highly recommend this restaurant!
Its just okay. Very fast food-ish. Not much in the way of atmosphere. Service was ok, not super friendly or helpful considering we announced it was our first time there.Food came out pretty fast. On disposable plates that were pretty flimsy for the food it was carrying. Great chips, good carnitas. The rolled tacos were very good. The guacamole was very good. My companion had a shrimp burrito that he said was superior. The salsa bar was, well, interesting. Jalapenos, hot carrots, sliced cucumbers. Four different sauces, but no actual salsa. And each sauce was very thin and blistering hot. No real flavor. Just fry your mouth hot. Not having a mild/medium, fresh traditional salsa just ruined the whole experience for me. That should be the first thing a restaurant develops. Anyhow. It was just okay. We probably wont do it again, even though the food wasnt bad.
If you are craving delicious Mexican food than this is your place. This local restaurant has plenty of options to choose from the food to the drinks. If you happen to go inside to eat, it is definitely worth it because they have a salsa bar with all kinds of side items to enjoy with your plate of choice. The owners of the restaurant also go the extra mile to ensure excellent customer service. I will definitely be going back to this place when I am in this part of town again.
New place in in town. Great food at reasonable prices. Salsa bar at the front counter allows you spice up your dish however you want. I really enjoyed the pickled carrots and jalapenos. We had Sunday lunch and enjoyed the following, the fish tacos, tostadas, beef enchiladas, and chicken quesadilla. The sides of rice and beans were also very good.
This place is absolutely amazing. We tried the barbacoa burritos and thats what we get every time we go now. Tons of flavor and ingredients. Also very authentic. The burritos are pretty large too, but dont get the place confused with free birds or Chipotle. The flavors and authenticity are spot on in comparison. Get plenty of hot sauce. Its all delicious and pretty spicy. The burrito and hot sauce go perfectly together.
This place is great! They are fast, friendly, inexpensive, and have great food. Not much else to say. If you want some good and fast Mexican food, go here. Be sure to get the horchata and both the pickled jalapeños and carrots AND the limon pepinos!Let’s just say this, that location was once a Burger Box that lasted for YEARS. Then, for almost a decade, there were about a baker’s dozen of restaurants that came and went. Anyone that saw this would think that there was some sort of curse on the place. Well, Juanito’s broke that curse, and for good reason.
I moved away from the area down to South Texas 3 years ago but drive up to Burleson just for Dos Juanitos burritos. I crave a shredded beef burrito literally everyday, and a Nevada burrito every other day. Treat yourself like the King or Queen you know you are and go have a burrito!
I dont know how this place hasnt put all of the main stream taco/burrito places out of business in Burleson. Quality, quality, consistency, and service same every time I come here and the reason I keep coming back. Do not be nervous about the look of this hole in the wall I have found myself coming here over all the other profit over service places everyone else loves. The closes thing you find to seminary and Hemphill in Burleson. You cant go wrong with the al pastor plate and they have good horchata as well!!!!
Being new to the place, I wanted to go inside to see their menu & prices. When I got to the door there was a sign saying drive thru only & the door was locked. I did not want to do drive thru since I did not want to be rushed to decide. They needed to put on their large sign by the street Drive Thru only. I just got my time wasted & will not be back.
This morning is the third time I have come by at ten after six! Nobody was there the first two times, this morning someone was there but did not answer the drivethru. Pulled up to the window and after 5 minutes of making eye contact with a lady inside she opened the window. Told me they needed 10 more minutes before I could order... the sign out front says open at six AM so does their google listing. If you’re not going to be open and ready by six then don’t advertise that!!!
This place is amazing best Mexican food in Texas we just moved here from California and we know good Mexican food. You can put this place up against any fine dining restaurant it will blow it away. Salsa bar has something for everyone super hot to mild even my wife can handle.
Awesome authentic Mexican food. Go here routinely and havent had anything I dont like. Ive read a few negative reviews for this place and looked at the users past reviews and while they gave Los Jaunitos 1 star they rated No Frills Bar and Grill 5 .... I guess some people love reheated frozen food over the real deal. Juanitos is the best restaurant around here.
Food was good, not great, but a solid good. They are known for their burritos and that or the cornitas tacos is all you should really be eating here. Youll be happy with it. They have a drive thru. The seating is incredibly small and dated. Not clean at all. A hole in the wall kind of place. A favorite of day laborers and local Hispanic population, thats how they stay in business, so you know they have authentic food. I watch what they order and they are always grabbing the big California burritos to go or sitting down to menudo or bowl dishes. Its definitely worth a try.
Small, hole-in-the-wall that is WELL worth your time to explore! An extensive menu invites you to return and try everything! I had the carne asada fries...and I kinda dont want to try anything else they were THAT good! The salsa bar has 5 or 6 different salsas, along with other condiments. Dont miss this place!
Carne asada burritos and fries are great options. Churros are made fresh super hot out of the frier and everything always taste great with a horchata. Our family loves their food and they’re always fast. The chili’s at the counter are my favorite. I’ll eat 2 or 3 of them. They’re very hot so be careful. Make your head sweat.
Great food. Very authentic. Had bean and cheese burrito and the beans were the best Ive had since being in Mexico. Flour tortillas were good too. Husband had carne guisada plate with jalapenos instead of bell peppers and said they were awesome. He also had a barbecoa taco and raved about it too.Beware their sauces. Couple of them will knock your socks off, and not in a good way! 😛
We go almost ever weekend for menudo and other things. Today was a nightmare. They must have a new manager. I asked the order taker if I could speak to the manager and she said he is off. I then asked her if I could clarify the order with the cook and she said they dont have one. Lol I said who the heck is preparing the order. Dont know if we will ever go back. It was comical but so frustrating .
Disgusting, I will never eat here again. My daughter found a fingernail in her quesadilla....the food was bland, the service was terrible, and the restaurant was very dirty on the inside. If I can see that the restaurant was dirty, then the places I cant see are even dirtier, such as the kitchen. I feel like I need a tetanus shot after this experience. Please do not eat at Dos Juanitos, they more than likely have roaches and rodents and hygiene and cleanliness is not an importance to this place.
This would be the first and last time I ever get food from this place! I ordered a burrito and I tear it in half and there is a long strand of at least 3 hairs holding all the food together!! So I go to take it back and the guy who I’m assuming is the owner gets mad at me and makes excuses like I put it there! I don’t have hair long enough to be in there and you can clearly tell it was cooked in the food! I will never go back and I suggest you check your food
Real Mexican food. Since moving here from California Ive been looking for a good Mexican food place NOT Tex mex. I literally cried when I found this place. My family eats here twice a week, there isnt another restaurant that compares in the area. The prices are great and the portions are huge.
The carne asada burritos are amazing. They are also big enough to share (if you want to, I wouldnt share my though lol). The staff is also very polite and most definitely good service. This was a surprising hidden gem in Burleson. If you want actual Mexican food in Burleson, go here.
I hail from San Diego, CA, where there is an authentic Mexican Taco Shop on every corner, so when we found Los Juanitos, boy, were we in heaven. Come to find out, the owner, is also from San Diego. No wonder why its so delicious. Its a MUST try, you will not be disappointed. My favorite is the California Burrito with french fries.
This place is simply amazing! The food is out of this word! The people are so nice and make sure you are taken care of. Also to top it was open on Christmas! They were definitely a life saver for my family and I! Thank you so very much for the great food and great service!
Came out to greet me in the drive thru when speaker couldnt hear me, took my order on pen and paper. Service was VERY quick, cheaper than I expected and way better than every expensive Mexican fast food around. I wont be back to taco bueno, fast taco, or taco bell again.
Just discovered this hidden gem of Burleson! Wish I would have tried it sooner. Tacos and tortas were fantastic. Id easily go as far to say the best tacos in Burleson! Staff was friendly and their toppings (salsas, cucumbers, radishes etc...) all tasted really fresh. Cant wait to try more of the extensive menu. This will be our new local go-to for tacos.
Food is great here but I have one complaint and the reason behind the 4 stars. I love their relleno burrito, but they never clean the seeds out of the poblano pepper and I hate picking them out! They have Agua Fresca here and horchata is my favorite. I come a couple times a month and always enjoy whatever I ordered.
This is a guess. Probably a true 4 stars, I would give it a 2 star, but Im extremely finicky. Had the chimichanga plate. Not bad, didnt know they put veggies in it. Just wanted beans, meat, and cheese. Maybe I didnt read menu well. Also thought it would be fried longer. Lots of meat choices to choose from. I will try it again. I may be too white though. Nice people.
My wife and I have been searching for a few months for some really good carne asada burritos, and its been a struggle. We were at the Golden Corral in Burleson and saw Los Juanitos across the street. They had a big sign for California style carne asada burritos; caught our attention. They have been at this locations for about 4 months, recently moved from San Diego (Chula Vista). Good prices, great family, and amazing food. Its very authentic SoCal/Northern Mexican food. We tried the burritos, quesadillas, and carne asada fries. Excellent portion sizes, the food was very hot, and was a warm atmosphere.
Its a little known, out of the way, hard to see eatin hole. But they sure do know how to fill my pie hole 👍 Grab a 🍽️ plate of traditional Tex Mex or stop in as the sun comes up for a hearty 🌞breakfast 🌯 burrito (just make sure you get napkins 😁) Either way, Dos Juanitos is a pretty great little restaurant in Burleson ❤️
Praise Jesus!! I have been looking for a passable California Burrito all over DFW for 5 years. Some how this little place popped up in my own backyard...Carne asada here is the best I have had since living in San Diego. Good flavor, good quality meat and cooked well.. Trifecta!Fries (they are in the California Burrito) these are perfect in both the burrito and the carne asada fries. (Yes I ate both dont judge me its been 10 years)I will be back weekly if possible.
Really sad I have to give a negative review bc of all the good reviews but sadly it wasnt a good experience. I pulled up to order and was rudely greeted and when I asked for a minute heard a sigh from the other side. Then when I ordered he said that it!? Really rude. So I just drove off apparently they didnt need my money which probably would have helped bc it was dead and it was lunch time. Oh well on to Pollo Regio.

2022-01-05Came her for breakfast while in town for a wedding. Their barbacoa tacos are absolutely delicious!!! I also ordered an egg and potato taco and the egg was way overcooked. Id stick to the meat tacos and aguas.

2021-07-14Looking at the menu when I pulled up at the drive thru was overwhelming at first, not going to deny. Made me think to my self that their food might not be fresh because of the variety of choices they have to offer. Well, I was wrong to think that!!Food is pipping hot! I doubt they use microwaves to reheat food here and that makes me happy.I got a California burrito and a plain chile relleno. My fiancé got three tacos-barbacoa and al pastor. He also got a carne asada burrito. We had no idea the portions would be massive! We had leftovers for lunch the next day that I was looking forward to eat!

2022-04-15I grew up in the tri-cities area of Washington State and havent had authentic Mexican food since I was a kid staying the night at my best friends house, whos dad grew up in Mexico. This place brings back those memories I have missed for almost 20yrs. You want real Mexican food that you will find at the diner table of a Mexican family. This is the place to go. This is not TexMex, it is not over seasoned and not what you will find in big chain restaurants. This is what you would expect on a traditional Mexican family table. Make sure you do not forget to squeeze fresh lime on your food, it changes the flavor profile completely and brings all the flavors together.

2022-05-25The food was pretty good and the staff was really friendly. I ordered chilaquilas, and thought it would come with tortillas and potato (like everywhere else), but it did not. Also, it was incredibly spicy. So spicy I actually couldnt eat it. Their smaller tortillas (I also got a regular bean and cheese taco), are store bought. Im unsure about the large ones for burritos, but those look a bit better. It was a bit of a let down tbh, but Id still give them another shot. The staff alone earns some credit for sure.

2021-06-14My favorite place for authentic mexican food! Great portions! The staff is great everytime I come in and the food is always fresh! The breakfast burritos are incredible and pretty big and its impossible not to order carne asada fries even just to take home for later! If you havent had a churro here, you absolutely should. Its the perfect finish to a meal here!

2022-06-10This place has pretty decent food but there is ALWAYS an issue. My breakfast taco this morning had no meat in it and three days ago when I went they didn’t include a whole meal.

2022-07-09Went through the drive- thru to order a super burrito, taco meal, and kids meal. Total was $39.40 at the window. On the menu it showed $10 something for #10 meal and super burrito and $5 for a kids meal.I called and the lady tried to say it was $11.85 for the taco meal and $11.85 for the burrito.Even then the total would have come to $28.70(without tax)Which still wouldn’t equal to $39.So beware to check your receipts, I guess they are tipping themselves/up charging through the drive-thru.Won’t go here again.

2022-06-17Absolutely love their steak and egg burritos in the morning. Their guacamole sauce isnt too great, but the verde and red sauce are nice and spicy
