Delicious food and excellent/friendly service. Options for everyone, including the meat eaters, the vegetarians, the vegans, and the Whole Food Plant Based Eaters. We had a Taco Baked Potato and a Sweet Potato with pecans and maple syrup, and side salads. Very good! The wraps looked really good too.
1st visit-Precious place!- food was amazing! I had a bacon ranch chic salad sandwich with blue jack cheese, and basil soups (Mondayspecial). Though inside was delightful and has books to read, I sat outside to enjoy and equally cozy environment on the square- Ill be back😀
Awesome atmosphere. If any family or friends want to visit in Kilgore, we always head straight here. Amazing freezer items as well as good, consistent lunch specials. So many quirky areas and interesting things to look at around the cafe. Only downside is one of their managers; he does intense amounts of drugs and even sells (or sold recently) weed brownies made with the brownie recipe slightly altered.. every time I come in I can’t help thinking about it. I have to admit, they’re quality brownies and cookies.Editing because I cannot add a reply:You have not sold from the store, yes. But, your manager has said that he altered the stores recipe for the brownies he sells. I assure you, he is either currently or has very recently been on several substances and has sold in the past.
Upon a recent visit to Texas, we had the opportunity to try a few new places to eat. The Downtown Cafe was one of them. Thought the wraps were not only beautifully made, but were delicious had to return a few days later for another! Was a pleasure to meet the owner. Experience was a complete D’lite!
Wonderful cafe for healthy food and a warm atmosphere! Instantly uplifted every time I walk in here. Excellent salads, baked potatoes, sandwiches, wraps and soups! Mrs. Debbie knows most everyone on a first name basis and usually knows their orders too! Love supporting this place!
Fabulous place! We were travelling through and blessed to find this treasure of a place. We were treated like we just came home. They went out of their way to make sure they made the food exactly to our liking. Since the person who took my order knew my name, when my food was served by someone else they delivered my food to me and used my name rather than asking ,Who ordered the... That was impressive to me. The food was awesome and very generous proportions. The atmosphere was welcoming. Ive never walked in a place and felt like someone just wrapped a warm blanket around me after coming in from the cold. It was nice to see how they try to be a blessing to others by recycling used books and sending the profits to a Papua New Guinean to help them with school fees for their family. I really wish this gem of a place was located in my hometown!
I cannot tell you how much I love this place. Since changing jobs I dont get to come as often as I had before & I miss the food, the art, the atmosphere & most of all the people.I am always pleased with my food & service. In my 5 years of patronage it has never been dirty or unkempt. The kindness of the owner & employees is felt in the atmosphere & the food.Great food, good price & a wonderful experience overall!
Downtown DLites is the place to go in Kilgore if you want a sandwich, salad, soup, or a baked potato! The bread is homemade, the potatoes are huge, and the staff is very warm and friendly. The owner is very generous and loving, who sees her restaurant as a way to make friends and minister to the community. I highly recommend Downtown DLites!
I had the baked potato soup with a salad. It was excellent. You could tell it was homemade soup - Delicious!!! The salad was very fresh, even though it was near closing. Left with a full tummy and bought some art whileI was there. Everytime I am near by and during operation hours, I try to stop by. P.S. dont forget the frozen yogurt!!!
I work a few miles away and today I ordered on facebook via chow now. Hopped in the car and drove the 7 minutes to their shop, walked in, and there sat my order ready to go. Wam bam thank you maam i was out of there in no time flat. Just got done eating and it was delicious! Im not stuffed, but it was about the perfect amount of food for a quick lunch. I had a panini and it was yummy! The house kettle chips were really good. Very cute little place. I will definitely be going back!
Loved...- the look (clean, classy, and whimsical),- the atmosphere (soft music playing, books available to read, and donations area set-up for a needy cause with handmade goods - very nice),- AND... the people were great! (friendly, helpful, and sweet - my little boy spilled a drink and was so embarrassed and felt so bad, but a girl came and sweetly took care of it telling him it was no big deal and not to worry).- OH AND THE FOOD!... :) IT WAS DELICIOUS! Loved the barbeque baked potato!;) ... and the frozen yogurt OF COURSE!Thank yall!!! :D

2022-05-10We moved to Kilgore a year ago and Downtown DLites, BY FAR, has been our favorite place to eat here. When we have friends and family that come into town, we are sure to bring them here so they can experience it for themselves! I can honestly say that everything I have gotten on the menu, I have greatly enjoyed- I cannot say that about any other place Ive eaten. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. I love reading the Scripture verses on the walls too. You will not find better service anywhere else, everyone is always extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is fresh and the service is always with a smile. Mrs. Debbie goes out of her way to try to memorize all of her usual customers name- that just goes to show you what kind of place this is. When we think about eating out for lunch we end up at DLites because it never disappoints. Not only is the food wonderful but its also affordable as well, especially if you get the Daily Special. It really is appropriately named, youll have to try it for yourself to fully understand.

Staff are some of the most genuinely kind and friendly people I have ever met. I just love them!! This is a must visit deli when in Kilgore. Dont miss the opportunity to eat and relax here. You may spot me in the window seat!!

2022-05-05Always love coming here! The staff is always super friendly and the food is great! The store is christian owned and they have lots of crafts and desserts made by local vendors you can buy. Definitely a place to stop by at if you’re visiting Kilgore.

2022-05-09Cute place , food not so great . Had tomato basil soup and turkey sandwich . Dry sandwich very dry . The Mayo I received on it was so little I thought it was a joke ! My biggest complaint is the tomato basil soup . Pretty sure it was a jar of Marinara sauce poured in a bowl . No silky texture like it’s suppose to have or creamy either . Very lumpy and very bad . I couldn’t even eat it . I decided to take it home instead to fix it . If they actually made the soup homemade I would suggest taking cooking classes or just buy pre made for now on . Husbands chili dog was non existent pretty much !

2017-12-19Nothing special at all. When I was ordering my food I asked for sweet tea. They made a comment that they need to refill it since it was running low. So I waited... and waited... and waited. They never refilled it. So I ended up paying for a drink and only drank water. And the sandwich I got was boring and plain. Nothing I couldnt make at home. It came on normal toast, a plain slice of cheese, and it wasnt even a whole grilled chicken breast. And my friend got a loaded baked potatoes with brisket. They said it tasted like brisket out of a can, and that it was just all microwaved together. However, the location was great and the actual place seemed kind of cool. They people there seemed really nice and helpful. But overall I was disappointed.
