One of the best brew pubs in town. Have been coming here for ages. Great selection of local and in house brews. Great environment to catch up with old friends or debate differences in opinions. Love the smell of the place, old wood and wax, spilt beer. There’s not of these places left in Austin these days. Parking is tight, so expect to park down the way and walk.
TL;DR: great draft house with over 30 beers on tap + seasonal. Food next to the bar (may vary day by day), indoor and outdoor sitting. Easy access and parking for handicap. $10 minimum if you use a credit card. Smoking allowed outside. The location might be a bit hidden but with parking and a handicap parking for easy access, it is a great place to hangout and have a drink.Edit: food varies. Sometimes there is a food truck, other times they have someone on a grill with sausages. Might change at different days.Food truck is located next to the parking lot and the menu has a lot of variety of foods from burgers to chili fries. Price range from 6$ to 10$.You can sit inside or if is a really nice day outside is the best way to go. Be aware, outside is a smoking area. They have weekly promotions on their drinks and is pet friendly outside. They have Darts if you want to try your accuracy.
This place was recommended to my wife and I by Ben over at Houndstooth Coffee. This place is legit if youre looking for a wide variety of beers to check out. Luckily we visited on a Saturday and they were giving out free brats to its patrons. The staff was very nice in helping you choose a good beer based on your tastes.
A really good brewery with lots of drinks on tap. A fantastic atmosphere and a great place to meet a group of people. I came here for a corporate Holiday party and we all had a great time with great drinks and beer. With lots on top from IPAs to Ciders and everything in between, you are sure to find something everyone can enjoy!
Ive gone many times over the years and were there for their 50th Anniversary party. And it was just as good as if they werent celebrating. The bruat they made for the celebration was great too! However if youre looking for a vast collection of craft beers, this is the place to be! Bonus is the staff. They actually know what theyre talking about!
Always great. Been coming here since the mid nineties (when you could pull up your truck and sit in the bed and drink). Great beer selection. Bathrooms always could be improved but I guess thats part of the charm. At least theyre updated but still could make them a tad more efficient so two people could use them at a time.
Great selection of beers and a very nice outside patio to chill with friends and/or your pet. They have a food truck that changes depending of the day of the week but you can also get pretzels and kolaches in the bar. The inside of the bar is small with some tables but it’s perfect if you want to have a more intimate conversation. Parking lot isn’t big but you can find spots on the street if you don’t mind to walk a little.
Would say 3.5 maybe 4 stars with a few tweaks. Average rating. Beer is tasty for sure, I liked the double red and a few other proprietary choices but it is on the expensive side at 7+ bucks or so per pint, depending on choice. The inside is open for ordering but no seating is back yet from the pandemic so you have to sit outside. Well shaded, but not all well protected from rain so it can further limit seating. Also had a burger and fries from the trailer on site, Little House. Taste scores high marks for flavor, freshness, and quality ingredients. At $11 by itself and $3 adder for fries it was also a little steep compared to some local options. Overall Id definitely recommend going and checking out their beer selection, which is well crafted. Prices will limit my repeat visits a little bit.
Awesome old school Austin pub with some of their own house beers and a great rotating taplist of guest beers. Solid food truck slinging fish and chips, burgers, and brats.Mostly covered outdoor seating (outdoors only currently). Great place to enjoy a solid beer outside.
Great pub with an outstanding patio! Tried three different beers while my friend had frose and wine. Ordered fish and chips, sliders, and fries and the food was good too! You order from the website and they put your order out on a table or in a bag by the food truck-- It would be great if the site would tell you when your order was ready instead of having to go up and check. But my orders were fast even on a busy Friday night. Certainly would come again.
Grabbing a pint at the Draught House is an Austin tradition (one of the better ones). Although I first ordered a beer there back in the early 2000s, they continue to revise and renovate the space making it more accommodating and accessible than ever - to say nothing of the absolutely amazing and near-iconic Draught House beers they are brewing these days. Do yourself a favor: grab your friends (and darts if you got em), grab a table and enjoy one of the best places in town.
If what you are looking for is a vast range of beer choices, then this is the place for you. I can guarantee you there will be something youll love here as they have dozens and dozens of beers on taps from a wide range of breweries both local and national. If you are into trying different beers, definitely always go for the flights as this is the best way to try more. There are plenty of tables inside and outside and seem like a really nice place to bring all your friends along.
This is my favorite beer garden style pub in Austin. Great beer selection...check. Also a microbrewery...check. Great service...check. Easy to access (not always crowded)...check. Food trucks...check. The best thing I love about this place is the ambiance, though. I feel as though I am transported to some Bavarian village every time I visit. Note: I have not yet actually been to Germany, let alone any beer garden in Bavaria, but I have seen lots of pictures.
There are plenty of places you could catch covid in Austin, but this wont be one of them, and this local Austin institution needs your support. Everything is outside, including the ordering right now, with plenty of space between tables, and some patio heaters. The selection is a little more limited than before, but still ample. Prices have obviously gone up, as they have everywhere, in part because you have to purchase food with drink (a tiny portion of chips and salsa in this case). I knocked off one star because service is even more cold and unfriendly as its ever been. Dont expect a hello from the bartender, nor a last call 15 minutes before they slam the doors closed. In any case, get out there and support your local bars that promote pandemic safety for their staff and patrons, and enjoy your beer in the process!
Great staff and the perfect little pub environment. They have an beer selection of brews with something for everyone, including stellar in-house brews. The food truck outside is bomb, though I dont recall the name. Pretty much everything is $2 off on Tuesdays and I will absolutely be coming back.
It feels transported from my imagination of what an English pub is supposed to look like. It MUSTVE been made specifically like that from the outset. Its just... too perfect. But it feels like it has always been there and always been like that.If the term English Pub makes you homesick, look no further!
A truly amazing selection of beers on tap. Good atmosphere. The place has changed over the years and some of the charm is lost with the new projectors that showcase beers on tap. Nonetheless, the old study carved wooden interior and the picnic style seating outside under giant magnolias retains much of the classic draught House charm.Great spot for big groups and pet friendly seating outside.
This is one of my favorite places in Austin. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The beer selection is superior. And, the ambiance is exactly what Im looking for in a relaxed beer garden.Update June 2017: I miss all the decorations! I still love this place but its starting to look overly sterile and lacking in character lately.
Stellar as always. Theyre making a really good effort for social distancing and cleanliness. You order beers and food from an app on your phone - super easy - and they are brought out to a central table. Theyre working hard and it was a good experience that I felt safe at.
Good beer selection from Texas and all the US (plus a few that are brewed in house). Lots of outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Free brats on the weekends. Theres also normally a food truck outside. Staff isnt always friendly, but they churn through a lot of people when they get busy, so its easy to see why they arent too chatty.
Great selection of beer and the outdoor area is really nice, so long as its not too hot. Inside always smells a bit strange, but thats to be expected of a place that is making their own beer. Staff is vey knowledgeable and eager to help you find something youll enjoy.
They have a huge selection of beer and so many benches with umbrellas outside to fit large parties. Their house beer is not that good though. Also the inside is dark and not entirely inviting so people rarely sit inside. Its a great place for groups if the weather is nice. The staff is efficient though not friendly. Theres free neighborhood parking. But still its never my top choice of places to get a beer, and theres no reason to go when the weather isnt conducive to outdoors.
Great ambiance and selection of craft brews! I am always happy to recommend this place to my friends when we go grab a beer, and Im happy to drive here forty minutes from South Austin any day. Dont sleep on the house brews! The ESB is a delightful compliment to your Austin fall afternoon.
I wish you could give half stars here because the Draughthouse deserves 4.5 stars. It isnt perfect but it is damn close.Their beer selection is top notch, but it can be a bit expensive depending on what you want. However if you go on Mondays most beers are three bucks which is very nice. The outdoor seating is ample and relaxing. They have a section with chairs if you want to kick back and relax or there is a huge section of picnic tables if you want to drink and socialize. My only real complaints are that the staff can be very aloof sometimes and just disregard you waiting for a beer, however the times this happens is few and far between. Lastly, the inside of the bar smells awful and the bathrooms are gross. Other than these two things, this place is a gem.
Horrible experience. My first time there, they forced you to buy fries for every beer you buy. They were super rude, no real clarity on how to get a beer. Didnt have any Rules List but seemed like everything we did they yelled at us...didnt ask us...or discuss with us...literally yelled at us. We social distanced, wore our masks...seems like they just use covid for an excuse to be rude to a customer. Beer list was good.
This spot is delicious! We came here in a big party, and though we were about 15 minutes late for our reservation, the restaurant was very accommodating! They offered us indoor or outdoor seating, it was awesome they were prepared for either. We sat outside. The food was AWESOME. One gal in our party is vegan, and they had options! Maybe thats the LA way... but they made the potato appetizer vegan for her (delicious) and vegan taquitos. I ordered the Salmon which was excellent. I wasnt a huge fan of the sauce base, but thats okay. The short rib was also superb, as well as the gnocchi. Portion sizes were good, but I wouldnt recommend sharing. All in all if I found myself in the area, Id definitely go back!
One of the great places to go and get a great craft beer here in the city. Their selection is very good. Its definitely got the pub feel inside and there are several places to find a seat and sit back to enjoy your beer. They also have a nice outdoor area which is great during the summer. Several food trucks have made their appearance there but I still miss them having their own kitchen. Parking can be an issue in so far as there are 5 spots on the property so you might have to park in the neighborhood. I wish they were closer to home though.
My go-to pub! Very broad selection of beers, from local brews to some youve never heard of. So if you like trying new beers you have plenty to choose from. The bartenders are great, they really know their stuff, which I liked a lot. So dont be afraid to ask them for suggestions, you wont be disappointed. Can be quite packed on busy days, but that never stopped me. Overall 10/10 experience.
Fantastic beer selection and a really cool laid back setting. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Tailgating is welcome if you can get a parking spot. Last time I was there they had a food cart in the parking lot, which is an added bonus to the awesome beers selection they have.
A wonderful experience to say the least. My wife and I hail from Shreveport, LA, and to say we have a love for craft beer would be an understatement at best. From the smell as you step into the door, to the customer service and most importantly the taste of the beer. I mean to say that these guys have a wonderful thing going on.This will definitely be a stop for years to come as we visit family in yalls wonderful city (have I said wonderful enough?)Truly,Josh Warren
Good beer selection, decent amount of house beers too. Cant beat the $3 house pint nights. Cozy, but has a lot of outside space too. Parking lot is pretty small though. You will likely have to find street parking, especially on busier days. Usually there is a food truck around.
If you are looking for some late night beers or a quick beer after work....or really just any beer in general, THIS IS YOUR NEW FAVORITE PLACE. Not only is the beer selection absolutely ridiculously well stocked, but the bartenders can help you pick something you have never tried before. Walk up, say I would like a Pilsner I have never tried before and you will have an amazing new favorite beer in your hands in seconds. I love this place and the vibe is both mellow and exciting at the same time. The patio and outdoor spaces are lovely, but I like sitting inside and watching everyone staring at the beer list with huge, wide eyes.If you havent been yet and you are a beer fan, please go as soon as you can.
Tons of beer on tap, and really knowledgeable staff that will help you find what youre looking for. Even if you have no clue, theyll let you sample beer until you find one.Amazing laid back atmosphere, with a mixed crowd of older and younger aged folk. I feel completely comfortable here in a t-shirt and cargo shorts.Seating outside is limited, always see tons of people sitting in the parking lot with lawn chairs. Totally dog friendly, and the wifi is pretty good too.
The best draft beer selection, this is a place for groups to come, try some interesting and excellent beers and chat. There are a lot of large tables and outdoor seating, so it definitely conducive for groups rather than mingling. That said, there is a noteworthy friendliness here, especially while waiting for your drinks. We are still in the south after all!
Excellent spot for a few drinks with groups or solo. The entire space has the exact architecture, décor, and general vibe for what a pub/brewery should be. On the inside there are lacquered wood tables with a bar front and center displaying more information than youd need to know about each beer, including how much is left in the keg. The staffs music picks range from Krautrock to Post-Punk and thats generally all I heard (which I personally found pretty awesome). The outdoor patio is quite large, with rows of picnic tables each with an umbrella and ash tray. It was never very crowded and is situated on a quiet street. They have darts both inside and outside.
Secluded, great atmosphere, very well informed bartenders. A couple of screens to watch some sports, great selection of taps with an app to keep up with them, great large patios with heaters. Not so much on the food and snack menu (kolaches, Frito pie, nuts) but you can bring your own food in, highly recommended
The Draught House has a large beer selection, including some of their own brews. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Great beer specials during the week and I find it less crowded during this time. Different food trucks are there during the week (love the Peached Tortillas on Tuesdays). If you are in the area, go there to have a pint or 2.
Everyone loves the Draughthouse. Its that perfect neighborhood bar--not pretentious, great beer selection on tap, great outdoor seating (when its not 100+ degrees outside). They serve lots of local Austin beers by the glass or pitcher. Its just a great place to chill with friends over some beers. One issue is the somewhat limited parking. You can usually find something in the neighborhood though on the street. They do some great small parties / events featuring local brews and businesses. Its just an awesome place that supports the community and is supported by the community.
Great place to try a few new beers. They have plenty to choose from and the menu board is filled with information about each beer. I love their outdoor area. If you’re hungry, grab some food from the food truck in the parking lot! Be prepared to wait in line for beer on more popular evenings.
The name says it all. The place has one of the best craft beer selections in town and the ambiance is perfectly chill. The beers are not overpriced and its not a pretentious place, which I wholeheartedly appreciate.Looking for really good deals? Come on Sundays (TX Beer Day) and Tuesdays!
One of my favorite beer bars in the US, hands down. Rotating selection of house made beers and craft beers from around the US and the world. Surly staff knows what they are doing and what they are talking about, so dont give them any lip. Line forms at the door, so stand in it patiently and wait your turn. Pro tip: On busy days, grab your first beer then head to the back of the line; enjoy your beer and conversation with friends as you wait for your next turn at the bar. Have a Hans Pils for maximum refreshment.
A tutor style building that is just as charming (and dark on the inside) as you would expect it to be. This place is pretty phenomenal. Sure, we could talk about the many beers on tap (but that would just take to long). So Im gonna hit some of the highlights: nice bartender, dog friendly, and in a location thats not saturated with other bars. Oh, and I would be remiss if I didnt mention their Sunday deals on Texas brews (they have them, go get some Texas beer!).The line for the the (usually solo) bartender can be a little trying. By the time you get to the front, you may feel a little bad asking questions about their selection. And, because everybody loves this place so much, the outside are is almost always packed. Nevertheless, if you dont mind drinking in the parking lot, it appears you can go ahead and do it.
This place is awesome! they have the best beer selection! I love the whole feel of it all! They have food trucks outside and you can bring your lawn chairs and own beer if you want and just sit outside of the food trucks! Or you can go inside and get a delicious beer for a pretty affordable price!
An institution of beer in Austin. Always a great selection of beers on tap and in bottles, plus they brew their own here too. And their beers are usually some of the best around. But dont come looking for wines here, they dont carry any. The closest youll get is a cider. Also, no food save a small selection of nuts and chex mix type, that can be purchased at the bar. They also sell a few cigars to puff on outside on their patio.Speaking of their patio, be forewarned. Come to this place early or risk not finding any seating inside or out. It then turns into a waiting game of seeing if anyone will leave or having the forethought to bring camping chairs and hunkering down in their parking lot to enjoy your beers. I assure you if you decide that route, you will not be the only ones as this is a popular means of populating this local.
A casual pub with a huge selection of beers of different styles. There is a large outdoor seating area, and you can bring your dog to hang out with you. An alternating list of food trucks visit the small parking lot. Theres plenty of parking at the nearby park, and in the neighborhood.
I want to live here. The interior is so comfortable AND they have a great patio? I never know where to go when Im here. The bartenders can always lead you to the best possible drink. Its the perfect place for a one-on-one night out. Ive never had the food, so I cant say anything about that, but given that they excel everywhere else, Id be hard pressed to think that they failed with standard pub fare.
Great little bar. Small so its quick to get crowded but the service is friendly and the selection is impressive. They seem to really focus on Texas beers - they have nearly everything brewed in the state! Take an outsider so they can sample what Texas brewing is all about.
Huge selection of beer. I had no clue what to get. The bar tender was very nice and helpful in helping me with my selection though. I really like the atmosphere of the place but it gets crowded quick. I enjoy going here early and leave before the crowd really hits. Local beers heavily supported.
This is a cool pub that has several elements that are lacking in most places around Austin. If you want to feel like your in an Irish pub with your mates then the wood finish that surrounds you at this location will satisfy your desire for hard-to-find authenticity. The kabob place around the corner has great food, although my friends and I spent too much time distracted by the correct pronunciation of their name.
Great craft beer selection and reasonable pint prices regardless of specials.Staff can either be super cool or super pretentious...it is just pick of the draw. They sometimes have food trailers, which I have yet to try, but the food stuffs I saw wandering by looked and smelled legit! The seating and queue can sometimes get out of hand and be hard to come by, as can the parking, but such is the nature of the beast that is a neighborhood bar in the Rosedale area.Check out their calendar to see the latest events as some cool ones go down here!
This is my neighborhood bar and Im pretty lucky. Lots and lots of beer choices on tap, of course, all around $5. Its always pretty crowded but still worth going. The crowd is generally older and nice if a little clique. The building always reminds me of Schlitterbahn..you know, how us Texas imagine what Germany looks like.
Whats not to love about Draught House Pub, with outdoor seating, fairy lights and a chalet kinda laid back casual spot, gives the place its awesomeness. There is an awesome selection of craft beers on tap, and you would be spoilt for choice. Garbos Food truck is stationed here as well and serves up some pretty awesome lobster rolls to gobble down with you beer. Love the Austin relaxed and fun vibe. If the place gets too full you can totally pull out those garden chairs from the back of your truck and set up a party right there. Oh and your furry friends are welcome too, no need to leave your best friend back at home now!
One of my favorite bars in Austin. Good selection of beer and relaxed outdoor seating. They have barely serviceable food; dont order any, instead, if youre hungry, get food from the food trucks that they let park on the property many of the evenings (Chilantro on Wednesdays is particularly good).
Draught House is one of the best bars in Austin. Its away from all the commotion of downtown, has a fantastic selection of craft beers, and is insanely welcoming to any and everyone (dogs too!). The addition of TV screens showing the beer menu remedied my biggest complaint with this venue (aside from the confusion its name causes). Tuesday night is $3 pint night and is always super busy, so be sure to bring some lawn chairs to sit out in the parking lot! The East Side King trailer comes by on Thursday and Friday nights from 5-10pm, so be sure to check out Paul Quis famous food truck.
Coming from a 28 year old it Has a large enough beer selection of beers but the overall atmosphere is very lacking. Very dark inside to where you would fall asleep and outside is just as boring with truck stop benches to sit on and bland generic music playing. I have no need to return.
I love the beer selection at draught house. There are always plenty of really great, interesting beers to choose from, including several house brews. Its a little small inside, so not the best place to go on a cold night between Thursday and Saturday. When the weather warms up the beer garden area provides some much needed extra elbow room, making the place a lot more fun on busy nights. Earlier in the week, Draught House has some good beer specials, and is a lot less crowded, which suits the dark, woodsy atmosphere really well. Low-traffic nights are great there. You can chat with the bartender, sample beers, and tuck yourself into a corner to talk to your friends. Lately, Ive seen a food truck there, so now theyll have good food too.
First of all, they make their own beers and carry every other beer you could ever want. Second of all, they have free brats on Saturdays. Third of all, its dark and wooden inside and German-beer-gardeny outside. Final of all, have you checked out the specials? $2.75 for certain pints on select nights... thats a good deal!
Ive been to and have drank in every major metro area West of the Mississippi and this is a top 3 beer bar on my list. Its just the right amount of grime, quirk and attitude that set a great mood. The beer list is expertly curated and any palate can find something on the varied boards with all styles and locations from coast to coast. The rotating food trucks were great as well. When I came in and sat at the rail, I mentioned I was from Seattle and I wanted a crash course in the ATX beer scene, the bartender and a whole slew of industry people pointed me exactly where I needed to go. I got so caught up in actually ended up staying until closing just BSing with everyone.
The best brewpub in Austin. The best brewpub in Texas! Knowledgeable staff, great specials, and the best selection of beers Ive seen anywhere. Its never extremely loud, the patrons arent annoying bastards, and the lighting/climate control are perfect, even outdoors. An essential part of a #perfectdayatx.
Dear Everyone,Yes. This is the best beer bar in Austin. With that being said, just so everyone knows, the mens restroom had a toilet and a urinal, that means two guys can do their #1 business at the same time. So do us all a favor, use both of them and shorten the line for the restroom.Thanks. Enjoy your beer.
This has been a favorite pub of mine for years and years. They always have a great rotating list of draught beers and even used to make their own; I hear that might be coming back soon. The inside is a nice, dark pub feel and the outside has a great biergarten feel with ample picnic tables, etc. It used to be a favorite for tailgating as well, as patrons can sit on their tailgate or even bring their own lawn/camping chair to sit outside
I love this place, so many beers to try and bar tenders that will provide you their honest opinion. i like to go when it is not crowded and sit inside to read a book or do some work while enjoying the old-timey pub decor. during the weekends their patio is great to hang out with friends and just have a good time
Divey with lots of beer. Some days its gets really packed. Other days not so much. Some days you can keep the glass. Some days you cant(unless you are stealing... dont do that) bartenders know the beers ask for suggestions. Lots of tables outside to sit. Lots of room to stand. Can also bring your own chair
Authenticity is something Austinites have begun to preserve due to its diminishing availability. The Draft House, formerly known as the Draft Horse, is authentic. With little to tip you off that it is not, in fact, a 200 year old British pub, the deep grooves in the tables inside and the calm atmosphere on the patio provide ample time to drink tasty beer made in house, relax, and feel like youre somewhere real. Which you are.
Love the draughthouse. They always have a absolutely fantastic range of beers. The inside is a dark, cozy british style pub, and their outside seating area has a large number of picnic tables in a shaded area with a Garbos food truck. Dont mind the staff who are always a bit apathetic (theyre never mean, but they arent exactly friendly),
A nice pub with a great selection of beer. Theres also a pretty good menu of food, along with a rotating appearance of various food trucks from around the city. Since its a neighborhood spot, it gets pretty crowded and parking can be a little limited. Thankfully theres outside seating, but sometimes the streets get pretty busy so it can seem like youre basically drinking the exhaust fumes along with your Firemans 4.
Fantastic brew house. Weirdly, I seem to come here mostly to show out-of-towners who want to drink somewhere cool and Austin-y (yes, Im one of those people who thinks we should be showing off our city and not pretending we can hold back the tides), but its actually a great little neighborhood joint that rewards consistent patrons as well.Theyve got a great tap list, with both decent sipping beers as well as more exotic beers for people looking for rarer stuff. I really appreciate that their chalkboards with the taplist show both the ABV and the size of the beer alongside the price - Ive been to places that dont, and its annoying to order something stronger like a Belgian that sounds cool only to be presented with a tiny 8oz or 10oz pour instead of a full-size pint. Luckily that doesnt happen here. Beer prices are pretty standard for craft beer, but some days like Tuesdays and Thursdays have much cheaper prices, possibly to compete with the Flying Saucer over on Lamar. The staff tend to be cool and knowledgeable.Their interior is a fairly decent size with an ample assortment of variously-sized tables, but the real action is outside where theres plenty of long tables for groups. Even better, outside is closer to their onsite food trailer, which as of winter 2013 is East Side King! I cant get enough of that place, but they also offer free bratwurst on weekend afternoons, which is an awesome perk. The only downside is that parking in the neighborhood sucks if youre not lucky enough to get one of the few front spots, but just tough it out, since this place is worth it.
My go to spot for a pint in Austin. They have a legit beer garden and excellent selection with nice weekly specials. On Tuesday nights they have $3 pints and the Peached Tortilla truck in the parking lot, hard to beat that combo. Hopefully they will start serving their beers again soon.
Thanks to all the other reviews, we showed up the first time with lawn chairs in hand! Definitely a great atmosphere and the intimidating line did move quickly as promised. I was excited to see they had Karbach on tap; however, it tasted a bit off so perhaps their lines needed some cleaning. I look forward to coming back and sampling more of their stellar beer selection!
This is probably the only bar I have tailgated out in its parking lot. Saturdays they bring out the grill and offer free brats to those who eat meat. Monday thru Saturday there are different food trucks stationed in their beer garden. There is limited seating inside but a fair amount of picnic tables outside to make friends at. This Tudor style architecture bar makes you feel like you did not travel far to a pub in England or Ireland.Wide selection of beers, 50 plus on tap in a given time. Fridays they crack open a fresh cask.
One of my fav places to grab a beer or two in Austin. Great old school german style pub. They have a ton of beers of tap ( abt 100) and the staff is very knowledgeable. Discribe what type of beer you like or what you are in the mood for and they will guide you to the perfect pint. They have tons of outdoor seating and place is packed in summer. Only con is that the restrooms are not up to par, but Im willing to overlook this and still give it a 5star rating. Check the specials board they have on the door, they typically have some compelling ones.
Tons of outdoor seating - with umbrellas for the summer, and heat-lamps for the winter.Dog friendly outdoors, ∞ craft-beers on tap, darts, old-school wooden-beamed construction, excellent food-truck, and friendly friendly people (this *is* Austin after all)Love the place...
This place was cool and the beer was great. Im giving three stars because on a Thursday they had one bar tender. We waited 10 min in line to close out the tab. I dont know why they only had one bartender but it was an unnecessary wait. Maybe it was just that one night though
This is a nice place to bring a chair and hang out in their parking lot, not to mention their great selection of beers. Ive seen people get pizza delivered there since they dont offer food. Their anniversary party is the best beer fest in town so keep your eyes out for it. It usually takes place in late October.
This is one of Austins gems. If you love draft beers and are willing and wanting to try something new or different, this is a wonderland of choice. Parking can be difficult, and the line can be long, but those who are willing to put in the effort will not be disappointed.
You know those bars where you could stand at a section of the bar for an hour before you catch the bartenders attention? Guess what: Draught House is your savior! One line (though it can get rather long at times) eliminates those feelings of being scorned by the bartenders. They have a lot of outside seating and a phenomenal beer selection, so you really, REALLY cant go wrong going here.Heres a tip: Bring cash for the bar, especially if youre just staying for one or two beers. It will be a lot quicker for you to not have to wait in that line again just to close your tab.
I enjoy the time here spent with my friends. This is one of the few spots that knew exactly what a Cola-weisen was and they made it for me.The bar staff are always helpful and when you can catch the food truck White Girl Asian Food here you might as well settle in for a night of eating and drinking. Good times!
I came to Draught House for the first time a few weeks ago, and Ill definitely be back. They have a large beer selection with decent prices, relatively fast service, and a great backyard/patio. Theyre a little off the beaten path but still pretty easy to get to from Central Austin. This bar is pretty much the antithesis of anything youd find on dirty 6th, which was exactly what I was looking for.
If youre a beer lover, this is the best bar in Austin. Even with all the new guys popping up on Rainey and the Whip-In now brewing their own beers, this place has a history and ever-changing taplist that will always be hard to beat. As for the occasional line – deal with it. Its single file and it takes the frustration out of trying to get a bartenders attention. They recently upgraded their chalkboards to digital screens making it much easier to see whats available. Use your time in line wisely and figure out what you want before they ask. Its always good to have a backup as the limited stuff can run out at any time.
Hands down my favorite craft beer bar in Austin. They make up for a lack of a kitchen with food trucks on a daily rotation throughout the week. Indoor, patio, and parking lot seating available. I like to go on Tuesdays for $3 pints on Wednesday for glass nights (cheapest one in Austin)
Maybe the best of the neighborhood bars in north central Austin, maybe the best altogether, The Draught House has stood for a long time and features an astonishing selection of beers for drinkers of any stripe, various specials on different days that all are actually pretty damn special, and a wonderful staff. I dig this place the most, baby.

2022-07-07TLDR: Great pub with a solid beer lineup.Theyve done a great job capturing the cozy pub vibe here. I got a couple different beers, a hazy IPA as well as a stout. Both were pretty good. My biggest gripe is that they dont serve flights, which is sort of the standard for a breweries in Austin, but you win some and you lose some.

2022-04-24The only time I make a review is when I really enjoy the experience and making memories with friends. Sadly, this isnt one of those reviews.• Staff wasnt affable when we ordered our brew they didnt say hello and were rude.• The beer tasted like the draft lines were not clean and sanitized.• There was no music outside. However, there was music inside which I would enjoy if it wasnt just Metal music. I overheard multiple people inside complaining about the music.I hope this review is helpful and I hope Im not being to harsh. The food was amazing and I love that its pet friendly. Just mainly the staff needs to understand the crowd more and show excellent customers service.

2021-12-23Great beer with some nice local vibes, and the food truck in the parking lot has really tasty vegetarian options. Lots of outdoor seating with a connect-4 lawn game. A great place to go whether you just want a beer after work or a gathering with friends.

2021-06-08The Draught House Pub is a great neighborhood tap room! I have been bellying up to the bar here off and on for decades. It is a great Irish/British pub located in North Central Austin. It thankfully survived the pandemic. They have plenty of beer on tap and outdoor seating. They have a food trailer out front offering Fish & Chips, burgers and other pub grub. This is a laid back casual hang frequented by locals and travelers who are in the know. Do yourself a favor and get down here for a pint ot two 🍺🍻. Dont forget to tip! U love this place!

2022-04-07Beer selection and outdoor seating great. Food truck must have been short staffed with an additional private party so couldnt eat there this time because the wait was too long. Last time had a delicious akaushi burger. Felt bad because saw some of the cattle on a ranch near Comanche and they have beautiful eyes and coloring.

2022-06-24Great beer selection. Outdoor seating is very nice and is a great place to hang out. Food was good but not spectacular. I was there more for the beer than the food anyway.

2021-01-22One of my favorite places to have a beer here in Austin. Always a really good vibe here, Im almost hesitant to write this review because I dont want it to get too crowded. The food truck here turns out some pretty good pub food as well.
