There are many DIY jobs Im capable of doing around the house, but there are times I need a professional and Dusty Underwood Plumbing is one of my go-tos when I need help. Ive had to use them several times and have never been let down with staff or service.
Josiah and Gage were on time, friendly and professional. I was very stressed that I had a water leak under my home that would result in a high cost repair. In short order, they found the problem, which was not a water leak but a couple of minor fixes. Great news and I only ended up paying the trip fee. They have earned a forever customer as honest and professional tradesmen.

I decided to proactively replace my water heaters, while on-site, the crew noticed a hissing inside one of my walls and found a leak. While this was unfortunate news, they also headed off a potential disaster. The crew that came out were very courteous and did a great job.
Noah was great. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Made suggestions on septic system maintenance but was not pushy about doing anything right now. No high pressure to do anything other than what I called them to do.

The technician did a great job explaining the mechanics behind the aerobic digester in terms of water & air so that raw sewage doesn’t stagnate. Also explained why the sprinkler head broke and why he replaced the sprinkler assembly with a sprinkler head designed for handling sewer water. Tech did excellent work. It is much appreciated.

Initially I had a septic transfer tank installed by this company and was not happy with the service or damage to my property. After a couple phone calls they were able to repair and fix things to my satisfaction. Although they werent obligated they followed through and did right by me on the job.
The office staff was very courteous and professional. They got me on the schedule very quickly, explained everything and answered all my questions. I got reminders leading up to the appointment and a heads-up text once the service professional was on his way, right on time.Austin was friendly, helpful, quick and fixed everything. Micah was very professional, honest, and easy to work with. He repaired a pipe that reduced the leak but there is possibly another tiny one that he said is likely with the sprinkler system. We chose to tell him we will call a sprinkler company and there was zero pushback. They came out Same day as I initially called (though initial appointment was next morning, he was able to come same day). I highly recommend this company.
Absolutely wonderful. This is the first time I have owned a property w/a septic tank. Had no idea what to expect. Technician was more than on time, super friendly, definitely knew his job well, was patient and answered all my annoying questions and got it all done way faster than I expected. We are in the process of getting gas put into our home. Customer service outstanding. Micah so knowledgeable of our needs. We are going to have gas put in our home next week. Very fast service. The guys installed a new aerobic septic system and we are completely happy with it so far. The installers, Phillip, Blake and Josh were awesome. Blake worked magic with his skid steer and excavator and they all were very polite, respectful and informative. Phillip was great at problem solving on the spot as issues arose.The only issue was that the office/scheduling communication could have been better. We almost always had to initiate the conversation but then they followed through after that.We would highly recommend Dusty and team!
We recently moved into a house that had a small leaky hot water heater in the kitchen. We wanted a new hot water heater installed in the garage and we called at least 10 to 12 other plumbers in the Paris and Bonham area. Most said they were too busy to do this job, some never answered the phone or called back, and others said it would be months before they could get to us. I then called Dusty Underwood who came out pretty quickly to give us an estimate and they got us on the schedule in just a few weeks. The technician, Cole Decker, was fantastic to work with! He was friendly, professional, and knew what he was doing. In no time, he had the brand new tank set up in the garage with tons of hot water! We will continue to use Dusty Underwood for any other plumbing needs!!

They worked tirelessly to get the job done and checked for leaks, and made sure everything was perfect. I called yesterday and my appointment was made for 830am today. The technician, Wes, was amazing! He was very professional and solved every problem our system threw at him - and there were a lot! He was very straightforward with the options so we could make well informed and easy decisions. He went above and beyond what we expected. It took several visits to isolate and repair the problem. The cost did seem to be a bit inflated. However, after two months of periodic calls and work, the repairs may have been completed. Time will tell.

We chose Dusty Underwood after many years of service with another company that was just mediocre. We have an aerobic septic system, that was installed when our house was built. We were never told anything about the system by the builder or the installer. Then we blindly chose a company to do the maintenance, because the county told us to do so. We only received a pink ticket quarterly, and 90% of the time they didn’t check 2 of the 4 sprayer heads we have. We knew there had to be a better solution out there somewhere. We received a mailer from Dusty Underwood & decided it couldn’t be worse that what we already had. So, we called & we couldn’t be happier!!!Dusty Underwood had their technician come out & and we found out we were in need of the tank being pumped. We had no idea we were even close & mind you the other company had been coming here for 6 years. They NEVER tested the sludge!Since having our tank pumped Dusty Underwoods technicians have been back out. We received a 9 page report with pictures included on everything that was checked. It has a detailed list of every part of the system, and how it was working.If you are looking for good people with great work ethic and business practices, my husband and I strongly recommend Dusty Underwood. If we have any plumbing issues in the future, they will definitely be the first people that we call.

I had a water leak under the foundation which was not repairable. The crew ran alternate water supply overhead to circumvent the damaged line. In and out in about four hours. I can not thank this company enough! Our hot water heater went out and flooded our closet. I called at 8:30 am and spoke to Jennifer, she sent out Jerry and Mark within an hour and they replaced our water heater. From the start of my phone call to them finishing was 3 hours. Jennifer, Mark and Jerry were the most professional, knowledgeable and friendliest people we have dealt with in a long time!! So glad I called this Company. Their work was wonderful, and their entire staff was so informative and friendly from the beginning of the process to the end. We received a quote from this company in February, then got rescheduled 4 times, eventually landing us a spot at the end of July.The 3rd time they rescheduled, in May, they didnt even bother to let us know. They just never showed up, never gave us a phone call, nothing. I called them the next day and rescheduled yet again, and they put us a full month later, today, the end of June. After I called to confirm the appointment for June, they let me know that Im not on the schedule at all and tell me they can get me in at the end of July.Absolutely ludicrous. We paid them $200 in February for a quote and got strung along for half of the year.Avoid this company.

We use Underwood for our septic maintenance so we thought we would give them a shot at replacing a water heater that went out and was under warranty. I was only going to use a professional and not do the replacement myself because of the warranty involved. Their trip charge was high but would have been waived if we had let them do the work. The real issue was the amount they wanted to charged for a warranty verification and the install (not including any cost for a new water heater). For the amount of just their service cost, I could buy 2 new water heaters and install them myself for about the same amount. And because their cost was not divulged during the appointment setup, we still had to pay the outrageous trip charge just so the guy could show up for 5 minutes, tell me what I already knew about the heater and that they were gonna charge the heck out of me to replace it.Will continue to use for septic maintenance, but will never get them to do any plumbing work.

Dusty Underwood Plumbing and Septic has installed two septic systems for me several years apart, at different locations. The first time I used Dusty I was having septic problems and he personally came out and spent quite some time to help me trouble shoot the issue. It didn’t have to be fixed right away and he didn’t charge me for the visit. A couple years later, I finally got around to fixing it and I used Dusty. I was pleased with the work they did. I most recently had them do the rough in plumbing for the slab and install a septic for a new house I am building. Everything has gone great, without any issues. They have always been very professional and helpful, and have done excellent work.
After hours I called left a message regarding a plumbing emergency in my house. Dusty underwood plumbing was so quick to respond even after hours, constantly communicating with me to get a technician out to my house! Mika was our technician and he was so kind, very hard working, & patient. He’s did an awesome job & we were so thankful he was able to take care of our issue. The next morning the company contacted me just to follow up & make sure I didn’t have any additional concerns! Thank you again for all the care and going above and beyond to take care of our needs!!! Had a real estate inspection. We have no experience with septic systems. The technician was very informative and explained all parts of the system. He also told us what to look for in the future. Three of the four access ports were below ground. He removed brush and dug to get access to the three below ground ports in order to do a complete inspection. Very impressed with thoroughness, knowledge, and willingness to explain the system.Dusty Underwood Plumbing kept us informed of unexpected changes to our appointment. We did not have to wait for them for hours since they let us know a day in advance of the change in appointment time. Greatly appreciated. The technician was on time.
The service tech was respectful but the service call was not handled well. The company was called out for a non-heating tankless heater and was given the brand and model ahead of time. The tech told me off the bat the company doesn’t really do much work with tankless heaters and suggested a new tank heater immediately after just looking at my heater without any diagnostic checking. I asked him if he could at least check the heating elements with his voltmeter, and he found one bad heating element. The heating element costs $40. I understand the apprehension to work on the tankless heater, but the tech was called out to to diagnose on a tankless heater- maybe the company should have turned down the work. Felt like it was just a sales push to sell a tank water heater.
Trying to edit previous post, had another plumber out after the $775 quote from Underwood plumbing for outside faucet and kitchen faucet install, all work completed by their competitor in an hour and a half, total bill $250. Buyer beware!
Technician Noah Carr found that the problem with the system was that the float system was the issue and took the time to explain what needed to be done in order to fix the problem.He was very knowledgeable and very helpful.
Have had the pleasure of using Dusty Underwood an his septic maintenance since moving into our home in December 2012. We moved into a home that had a malfunctioning to non-functioning septic system. Dusty and Rusty both were very diligent in inspecting the entire system and cleaning and replacing parts. They didnt even mind me standing over them and asking 101 questions. On another occasion our alarm was going off after a lightening strike. Dusty fixed it immediately, being a blown fuse; however, while there he still opened the lid to our system and inspected everything to be sure there were not any other problems. I appreciated the attention to detail very much. We have not had any other problems with our septic system since. We also used Dusty Underwood to empty our tank when it came time. Wade and Dillion came to do that job and both were quick and professional. They recovered the area that had to be dug up and left everything in tip top shape. I would use Dusty Underwood Plumbing/Septic again in the future if I had the need.

Quickly found my problem, explained how he was going to fix it, and made short work of it.Colton came and repaired an aerator pump that had malfunctioned. Same story. Quick, courteous, and reliable. The Best plumbing and septic service in Texas. Colton is a wizard at solving issues. About a year ago, he fixed my short circuit problem with the outdoor pump - not a problem since. Today he fixed my aerobic septic odor and watering issue with perfection!
Had an emergency leak on a Saturday after heavy rains. Called a few plumbers and they were the only ones able to get to us right away. This company is a rip off. They charged us 600$ to replace a float. They also threw the pvc pipe into our lift tank to cause more problems so we would have to call them out again and have to have another repair. Very unprofessional and shady business.
I did not need any large plumbing work. It was to install a new shower head and stop a leaking faucet. However, they were professional. Quickly finished up the work and did not leave any mess to clean up. Would recommend them to others who have at least basic plumbing needs. If we have a future project that requires more work, we will call them up again.

Hired Underwood for a septic inspection that had previously been done by another company. His report did not make sense and made false comments about the condition of the system. Underwood inspected our system and showed it to be working properly and needed NO repairs. They also sell systems but were honest about the condition. Will definitely refer this company!

Called these guys and got ripped off charged $1100.00 didnt solve my issue. This company will not back their work I called them back within 6 days of the service call they were rude and informed me that if they had to come back out if would be an additional charge on top of the $1100 they charges the prevoius weekend . They didnt know what they were doing so i call another plumber to handle the issue. It is pretty sad for a company to take advantage of people on a fixed income given the current situation on the world right now. My advise to anyone needing plumbing or septic service is to stay as far away from Dusty Underwood as possible.
Dusty Underwood Plumbing did a great job installing our new tankless hot water heater. They are our go-to plumbers, they have installed the gas line on our fireplace, helped to install the heater unit with our AC system, and repaired broken faucets. They are knowledgeable and professional. We appreciate the care they take with each job and we can depend on quality work from Dusty Underwood Plumbing.
They did a great job of finding and fixing our problem with the septic system when it sounded like a agitating washing machine. Very professional and kept me up to date on what needed to be fixed and when they would be here. I highly recommend Dusty Underwood Plumbing and Septic.
Dusty Underwoods team showed up on time and were very professional, even with my three young and very interested sons would watch their every move. They made the repairs needed and for a very fair price, I would highly recommend Dusty Underwood for your plumbing needs.
Beware! This company doesnt take responsiblity for their actions. We had our house built recently and selected this company through U Build It program in McKinney. They are no longer affiliated with U Build It after this episode. First, when they ran the water leak test after they installed the plumbing under the foundation there were 2 leaks found. One was the shower pan leak and the other was from a nail gun of which my framer ended up paying for. Dusty, owner, told us we had to pay extra to fix both the leaks of which we didnt cause. My builder disagreed and emails were exchanged. Another issue we had was the fire sprinkler hose. They installed / attached the hose on the exterior of the home and Fire Rescom inspected it, and said it wasnt code nor installed properly as it was suppose to be installed on the interior wall. They wanted to charge us extra to fix it when they installed it incorrectly. Thirdly, our water hose to the house was the wrong size. Please note they had the blueprints! They charged us for their mistake. They wouldnt correct it until we paid for it ( over 300 feet of hose). Lastly, they installed the wrong exterior hot/cold faucet and one of them was stripped. Afte all of this we fired them, and hired someone else who knew what they were doing and didnt charge extra for things we were not at fault for.
Once a plumber was eventually available to be scheduled, service was good. Micah worked tirelessly finding and fixing leaks. Clean up was good.

Started out thinking Dustys was the company for me, after dealing with ,calling other companys. Dusty came out he was good, despite wanting to charge me $250 for looking at my septic tank after I received an $11, 200 price on a new system. After dealing with them for 3 weeks, Stephanie calls to tell me that they cant do the job, too far way and takes too long, not mad at them disappointed that they wasted my time , and wasted theres, glad we didnt do business, WoW!!!!! No good!!!!
Dusty Underwood Plumbing has been serving our familys needs for more than five years. Due to two different types of inferior piping installed on our home and land, weve needed a lot of work and weve stuck with Dusty because we know we can count on his company to do good work, stand my his work (weve had one warranty repair), and consistently be there for us quickly in after-hour emergencies (many times). Heres an example of why we love this company: In June, right after we installed a new lawn and sprinkler system, our family woke up one Saturday at 4 am to catch a flight to go out of state on vacation -- where we werent going to have phone service. As we loaded into the car, I realized we had a busted water pipe in the field. We turned off the water at the meter, left an emergency voice mail for plumbing help and headed out - my stomach was sick with worry about my new lawn but this was a big vacation for us and we had faith that Dusty would have our back. As we waited to board our plane, Dusty called me to wish me a good trip and to not worry because theyd get it under control one way or the other. A few hours later back on the ground and headed out to no-cell phone territory in Montana, I messaged in for a status and got a rapid call back from the plumber on site. I called 9-10-2019 Ask to speak with a plumber, Lady refused said speaking with a plumbing isnt allowed. Being told if I wanted to set appointment it would be with her or not at all. I tried explaining to her my situation was a little more complex than just an appointment. I again ask politely to have a plumber call me, even stated we have a mutual friend and were in need a plumber for life. I ask the female to please take my name and my number and she refused, I gave her my name and number anyway ) She even stated the Plumbers dont ever meet the people who hire them? again that made me laugh! How does a plumber work at a persons home and never meet them ? Hilarious right? This indeed made me laugh. So she had another female speak with me and told me to just hire another plumber. So we did. I really didnt want to waste my time writing a review but our mutual Friend insisted that I did and said the actual Owner would be upset if he knew the Hired Help was running off customers. We have a Rinnai tankless water heater that had performed fine until we had it descaled in October 2019. When the hot water was turned on at any faucet in the house, it would only stay hot for about 2-3 minutes and then turn ice cold! After several attempts to resolve the issue, the plumber that had performed the cleaning called Rinnai and was given Dusty Underwood plumbing as a warranty company. Within a few days, they sent Andrew & Micah to troubleshoot the issue. They resolved the problem and we had hot water again, continually within an hour. I would highly recommend this company if you have a Rinnai tankless water heater or plumbing issue.

This outfit is top notch. No corners were cut on the installation of our new septic. The process from start to finish is very painless. No confusion, no what ifs, no suprises. Its all clearly spelled out in the quote. The install crew works like a well oiled machine. Dusty communication is spot on and a man of his word, Hard to find these days with a contractor. No he wasnt the cheapest but not the most expensive. Great customer service these days is worth a little premium. You get what you pay for and cheap is always more. Incredibly over priced!! Spent hundreds and problem still not solved. They charge $225 for every tool they whip out. Plus a travel fee. Adds up quick. Just not affordable.
I have been using Dusty Underwood for many many years, they are courteous, easy to work with and keep me up to date and compliant, from the ladies in the office to guys on the crews an A+ team of great folks.
They are professional and friendly. They show up on time and have a professional demeanor. They do good work in a timely manner and stand behind that work. I appreciate the way they have taken of things in a manner that I dont have to worry, I just make a call and know everything will be taken care of. It is good to have a go-to professional especially for things like plumbing when things can get so bad in a hurry.

Wish I could agree with other reviews!My job took months to finally get completed!Horrible communication from company and total lack of respect for customers time.Left a horrible mess to deal with and telling me this mess is normal and up to me to fix!Big gap under my septic unit Iam being told to just fill with some dirt and it’s crooked it’s an eyesore our my back windows!!!Just going to say setting expectations and communication with customers in such a big expensive job are key!!Horrible and unhappy!Also beware if they cut your water lines they won’t repair even if you pay and they are plumbers!!

2022-05-09I do not make reviews online as I want everyone to have the chance to make good, but we have had ways too many issues with this company. They dont seem to want to work with us to fix their mistakes.We hired Dusty Underwood Plumbing back in 2021 to install the septic and plumbing for our Tiny Living Community. They worked on the property for over 4 months. We relied on reviews we had seen online and their professionalism with their projected vision, projected build out, etc. However I think this project was too big for them.During our project they destroyed decade old trees that didnt need to be removed, tore up the yard beyond what needed to happen for installation, quoted us thousands less bc of oversight on needing another tank, did not place farm hydrants correctly despite stakes to mark slots. We have had to have extensive maintenance already with only two residents on site for two months. Per their text, installed a new check valve on supply line due to have a lot of return from drip field. They adjusted the pump tanks stem. They exposed and straightened the spin filter return from pump. They then tested the system for proper function. Their lead guy got fired during our job without any notice. We had reported him as playing around on machinery.Right now we have a flood from a farm hydrant leaking underground and they wont be here for over 36 hours from reporting it. They may be ok for small toilet leaks, etc but they have not been for this project.

2021-12-29We have used Underwood Septic for our septic maintenance since we purchased our home 2 years ago. In May 2021, Underwood installed a new aerobic septic system as our previous one was not installed properly and had many issues. The Underwood sales team constantly bragged about how their installation team was the best in the business and how I wouldnt want anyone else to install. Based on the reviews I have read, I would tend to agree with that. They have always performed good service for us, and the team was always knowledgeable and nice. But the installation was a nightmare.So we moved forward with the installation of a brand new system which included a new main drain line and sprinkler lines as well. While the installation may have been performed well I guess, the evidence of the installation still lingers. These guys COMPLETELY destroyed my yard. There are huge ruts everywhere from their vehicles and deep ruts and holes around the work site. They had to remove part of a retaining well to bury the new main line, and did a poor job putting it back. My $8000 retaining wall now looks terrible, so I now have to pay the landscape company to fix it. I understand they had to move a few blocks, but it looks so horrible now. They had to cut the drain line for my pool in order to run the new main line. I honestly dont think they had to cut it, but they did regardless. It was a botched repair and now my pool drain spews water out of the patch whenever I backwash. Now I have another repair to a 3rd party. The Underwood team trenched the lines for the sprinkler system, but never filled the trench back in. I had to go and bury all the sprinkler lines myself and clean up that mess. They also did a very poor job filling in the dirt around the new tank, and I had to go put a LOT of dirt around the tank itself as there was at least a 12 deep trench all around the tank.When they dug the tank, they put the dirt in a location behind the tank thats very difficult to get to. I can barely get my tractor in there to get to the dirt pile without falling into a ravine or driving over the tank. The installation quote included an option to pay an additional $600 to spread the remaining dirt into low spots in my yard, etc. I figured that was unnecessary to pay that as I expected them to at least fill in the holes they caused, etc. Had I expected this kind of damage, I would have paid the extra $600 to fix the mess they made.I still use Dusty Underwood for maintenance for my septic, as theyve been good for that. But based on this experience, especially after how they talked themselves up about how good their installation team is, I would NOT recommend Dusty Underwood for septic installation.

2022-06-13Very happy with the service, was mad at first because my repair was out of warranty, but they ended up honoring it anyway. I’ve used this company 3 times now and I will continue to use them. The plumber’s are well educated and very helpful. I usually only deal with Micah, but pretty sure they have a good team. 2022-02-17Cody was AWESOME! The company was wonderful from the moment they answered the phone through Cody’s service call. He replaced the hot and cold water lines to the washing machine.We received a text with his photo when he was on his way. He pulled up in a nice, clean, well marked van. He was friendly, professional and was well prepared. He knew just what to do and made the repairs in good time. He cleaned up the area after he worked.We HIGHLY recommend them. We will have them back to do future work.

This time was a completely different process, obviously we have been dealing with the wrong people. 2022-05-20The service was awesome, but I’m REALLY struggling with the cost associated with installing a new water heater. I was greeted by your tech (Josh) who was awesome. He then said I need to make you aware of the cost to install your new water heater….it’s $960.00 I nearly fell to the ground!!!! Now, I had already drained and disconnected the water heater. I totally understand the cost of doing business, but for 2 hours work for $960.00! Mind you, I’m blessed to be able to afford and pay this cost, I just think that it’s totally unreasonable.

2022-06-22We were very impressed with the time and amount of quality workmanship involved. Installing a new aerobic septic system is quite detailed and time consuming measurements, and taking a lot of things into consideration permits and making sure the client is happy with the design before scheduling. We are very pleased .
