So, you always here the negative things about housing companies, but never any of the good so here is a change. We lived in our house for 4.5 years anytime something went wrong (A/C issues, stove, dishwasher, clogged pipes, etc.) they were always fixed and usually within 24hrs. The maintenance folks were outstanding, professional, and always personable. The staff in the housing office were always helpful and accomidating.Further, when we moved out we elected to clean the house ourselves. I had heard horror stories of people being charged large amounts of money after they had, spent days cleaning their house. We too spent days cleaning our house and passed with only one charge of $6 for a window blind one of our kids had beat up (more than a fair price considering the cheapest ones I could find were about the same price) the cleaning is tedious and time consuming, but if you follow the list and go room by room it is not bad at all. To put it simple, clean the house to the condition you would want it to be in when you move in. Yes, the charges can be a lot for what they are, but seriously how hard is it to take a Clorox wipe and wipe off your outlets? Our experience with Balfour was great and we would live on base again if we ever end up back at Dyess. Thanks for the great experience!

Charge you your housing allowance, plus any fee they can think of such as replacing carpets after you been there only 4 months. Cheap materials show, they arent equal quality renters, rank takes priority you might have nothing compared to what you could have off the installation.

If you are moving in, I suggest that u ask for their move out check list and go through it each step. And if theres a spec of dust on any part of the house like the corner of a window, write it down. Be anal about it because they will give u a dirty house. Check the flower beds also. Make sure theres no weeds there because when I moved in, it was full of weeds and didnt think anything of it then I got charged $50 for them to take the weed out. Make a note of everything, I mean EVERYTHING is what Im saying and save urself the headache.

They use the cheapest stuff to fix problems. Half of the time the problem isnt even fixed. Posted opening hours arent correct. Sign on doors shows hours and says open but the door it locked. I ask them why is the door locked...we close at twelve...well its 15 til so youre still open...no we are closed, bye. Garbage company.

What youd expect from government housing. Seems they only care about residents when it comes around to survey time.
