Rudely kicked out of the park by the park security could’ve said nicely the park was closing. Not once were we rude to him he was blaring his alarm and yelled at a woman with her daughter that the park was closed to get out. Honked multiple times behind our backs as we walked to our vehicle not once did we comment back and he was just blaring his horn at us.
The Edbg World Birding Center is a great park. Its huge and has a little of everything. The added water/splash park for little kids is a nice addition. Ducks are really cute, just dont go near the geese. A goose near a bridge by the far north pavilion area chased my daughter and our dog! I think he wanted money for passage or something. 😂 Take sunblock, water, and bug spray if youre going to stay for long periods of time. The picnic tables need a table cloth if you eat there. Theres bird poop all over. Parking is always available. Theres a birding center that is super cool. During visiting times theres a fee, but I think its worth the cost, b/c there arent time limits. There is also a community garden, lots of different trails and piers. I like this park better than any other (even in McAllen). Nice place for the kids to release their wiggles, and for dogs who have the zoomies. A++++
I really like the little closed off trail (across from the butterfly park) I spotted a red cardinal (boy) & got kind- of hooked... Theres so many different species of birds living in this little closed off area. I never thought Id enjoy spotting them but...honestly, its really fun plus I take care of two birds with one stone (no pun intended) Doggo loves walking the multiple trails with me to... The park is really big. The butterfly park is worth a visit (its really, really pretty...there are plenty of butterflys to look at (as one might expect) Ive also spotted a few bunnys, lizards, spiders, etc... Theres also a community garden, a baseball field, a soccer field, bbq pits & of-course some of your standard playground equipment. Plenty of space, worth a visit.(:
Been back and forth here the past few weeks. During March there was a livestock show and the vendors food was awesome, we’ve been fishing here, kayaking, jogging, played volleyball, had lunch, kids played at the playground, gone to the birding center and walked the trails that they have, even picked up sandbags for myself and my family. Edinburg Municipal park has something for everyone. Always have events going on, so pay attention because this is the place to get engaged with your community.
We drove down there for the night out 5k run/walk. Nice park, I liked the trails.Spasmatics were funny & they always play good music. We drove down from Kingsville for another 5K run @ this nice clean Edinburg park benefiting Crime Victims family. A good turn out for a good benefit.
Really nice park, big enough that one can social distance well from other but still enjoy the park. So sad to see the wetland trail get hit by the freeze recently but any other time it’s my favorite trail to jog. It’s covered by overhang trees and there’s a dock you can walk on to get an amazing view of the lake. They also have a mile trail, the world birding center, an “exercise pavilion” and both small and large dog parks. So long as you have “proof of registration and shots” your dog can enjoy its own lil park that’s only off leash.
It is a beautiful park with very nice walking trails and scenery. There is a birding center which is difficult to visit because their hours are not posted and if the schedule is posted, the gates are not open when the sign says it should be. There is also a charge to enter the birding center (unfortunately I dont know the amount because I never seem to catch the center open), but the rest of the park is open to the public which has a lot more activities to enjoy. There are workout areas along the public trails, restrooms, playgrounds, tables with BBQ pits, and lots of ponds. With the current pandemic this park has become very overcrowded making it unsafe to visit, and the visitors have been very destructive. Other than that it is a good park to visit.
This is one of my favorite parks in the Rio Grande Valley. I love the natural area carved into it with brush and giant pond. The length of trails is great for a good workout or a stroll. Only real negative to me is that they could use more dirt trail and the paved component is old and needs to be re-done.
I have never been to a more beautiful city park in all my travels. Very clean and well maintained. Bike and walking trails, huge ponds with many bird species, covered shelters for cooking and emergency stations are just some of the reasons that make this park a great place to visit.
The park is beautiful, maintenance workers keep it nice and clean, they are really good at their job. The scenery is great, there is nothing like taking a walk around the park, seeing the water full of ducks and geese swiming around the lake and feeling the morning air. 1.5 miles is how long the walking trail is, 2 times around the park is enough for a good workout. I love this park.
This is a beautiful park. They have multiple playgrounds along with a water park and huge sheds for ppl that have scooters or skateboards or anything like that. They also have bike trails and a nature trail for u to walk. They have a basketball court and a volleyball net. They have alot of places to sit so u can throw a party or just chill. They have a pond and animals that live there. I recommend this park 10/10 🤗
It’s a beautiful park, I took my family there. Unfortunately, we didn’t know that the ducks there are very aggressive. No wonder people bring bread with them. I didn’t have any bread on me, so the ducks became aggressive and started biting me. Luckily I was able to get away, and get my family to safety. Kick a few ducks as self defense, that’s how I got them to stopped biting me. I guess it happens to everyone because a few minutes later, we saw those same ducks were biting this little girl who ran out of bread, and her family was able to kick them away too.
This park is full of fun play sets for kids the trails are very enjoyable to walk. Plus you can grill while the kiddos play. I like saying its the duck park its filled with a ton of ducks plus, the birding center has beautiful scenery and many different species of bird. This is really the only park I take my family. Good times always here.
I been coming to this park since I was a little like 8 maybe dont remember but overall this park is great for all sorts of activities. Wild here is amazing unless you make a goose your enemy then your screwed. Great bike riding trails, but parts of the trails needs to be fixed and gaps filled. The restrooms here are ok, just need to be cleaned more often. Word of advice always use bugs spray unless you wanna be mummified by mosquitoes then be my guess. Hope you all have fun and be careful.
Is a beautiful place to go with or without children, love the ducks and walking around with my grandchildren. I know you will love it too. There is baseball fields and soccer fields , baseball, volleyball plus the play grounds for the children to play. Many people like to go and run on the track theres a trail where many go to take pictures of the wildlife. I believe you will truly enjoy it.
This park is very nice. It has tons of parking to any of the areas, be the playground, courts, or tails. My kids love it, they have several playground and most of all the park is well maintained and clean. Restrooms are clean as well. I love the walking trail and the bike trail as well. If you live here or youre visiting the RGV, you dont want to miss out on this very nice scenic place. It is also nearby a wetlands park and birding area. I know they also have a community garden and many events you can keep track with on their Facebook page.
Great place to run. Its about 3 miles every 2 laps around on the paved trail. Always security driving around. Basketball courts are badly made. They should uproot the paint and leave only concrete. It would make it more safer to actually play basketball and to do drills. Do not go there if its wet. Theres no point. As for every thing else the playgrounds are safe and fun and plentiful. Great family place!
Its a nice park. Perfect area to hydrate along my 107 bike route..Surrounding areas do not complement the experience..Too many loose dogs in and outside of park..Park Patrols seem more like a hindrance to the people enjoying themselves..They park incorrectly; block areas meant for pedestrians, and seem to be in areas where women are in stretch pants. Very Obvious to a person aware of their surroundings! Gross..Love the park though!
Overall, a very nice park. A multitude of soccer and baseball fields. Plenty of parking. Plenty of covered structures for inclement weather. There are numerous playgrounds for children of all ages and abilities. Even some adaptive equipment for children with handicaps. The park is interlaced with paved and crushed granite gravel sidewalk so easy wheelchair access for all who choose to attend. Plenty of covered picnic tables and charcoal grills. Park dotted with small lagoons with turtles and Ducks. Nice distraction, leads to lots of mosquitoes but this is South Texas. Overall a very nice facility and much nicer than what is within Edinburg proper. Plenty of parking so easy access for all. Overall Park is clean plenty of trash receptacles. Multiple sets of portable toilets throughout Park.
A joggers place to do what he/she loves best if not for the endless multitude of mosquitoes that plague this lovely park every spring and summer, even late into mid fall. On the bright side, the park is at its best shape during the early months of winter before the seasonal cold front visit the Valley. Thanks to our warm weather, the temperature drops to a surprisingly pleasant 65°F to 80°F. Few are the days and weeks in which this park is the perfect location for a family friendly outdoors experience.
This is a nice park but they need to do a better job at keeping the bike lanes cleared!! I cant take my daughter out for a bike ride without families and kids walking or standing in the middle of the bike trail. She had a couple of hard falls because she had to stop abruptly to not hurt anyone. And when I tell them to move out of the way and to get off the trail I get the ugly looks. The signs are clear people... Bike Trail!!
I tried to ask a question of a park ranger. He motioned his hand over his mouth, evidently meaning, Wear a mask.I was outdoors and 6 feet away; he was in a car with the windows up. I backed up to 10 feet distance, and tried to speak again. He shook his head No and drove away.1. In Edinburg, do people have to wear masks when outdoors and away from people? (Im visiting. Where I live, in another State, we dont.)2. How did this officer know that I wasnt having an emergency??!! He could have opened his window an inch, and spoken from 10 feet away. Please, lets use common sense and courtesy.
Honestly its amazing it has a big trail all around the park which makes it fun so u are not seeing the same things all of the laps it is a great investment for your family moments to make memorable memories and over all its just amazing the space to share with others
Great kiddie areas, theres a bunch of different sections so if ones too packed you can just end up at another one. I usually go for my shorter runs there. One lap around the main track seems to be a mile. You can also take the detour through the hiking area, you go around a little lake engulfed in trees and nature. Please, please, please... take a doggie bag if youre taking your pets. I hate stepping on a little something smooshy
App would be great if you could send me some pictures of my cats please find the little guy is coming to pick me up at night so we can get us Carmens number of the person who wants to know how much is the deposit to hold the little one who wants to go into the backyard shed and got her a good morning this week in the morning and then we can get together for the night so we are ok with the kids and I was just playing around with the little guy doing the same thing as last time we talked to the owner of the property to see if you could send me some more of that you have you heard anything about my account for Google maps distancia de la la Land Rover to be able make sure yall know if they have you doing your best price on the house phone when it comes to my mind
Love to run here. Course offers inclines, trail, blacktop, synder, canal terrain and plenty of playscapes for the kids. There is a pavilion area in case you would like to stretch before you run or get in a mini workout of some sort too. It does get busy at around 6:30 PM.
Next to it is the World Birding Center. Thats where I take my nature pictures. Two of them came on the UTRGV gallery magazine. The park has a total of three trails and three small lakes. One trail is a 1 1/2 miles. The gravel trail is one mile and the other small next to the 1/2 mile gravel running trail that goes in a circle. There are is two three big playgrounds with three basket ball courts. Two with sun cover and one in the open.Kids are allowed to feed the ducks. Entrance is free.
Great place to BBQ, workout,go fishing w/ a cleaning station too! Feed the large amount of ducks , watch baseball games and soccer ! Apart from the cool car shows and festivals that take place here threw out the year, best park in south Texas! With its own birding center, community garden and private crosswalk in to a huge Soccer stadium for the Rio Grande Valley Torros!!!...other than the birding center & a game at the stadium...everything is free!
