El Super in other cities:
The food was good but the service was really rotten. The people serving food are not organized. They act like they dont get along. The workers are sending people left and right to get their drinks and food. They didnt give us the tortillas that come with the food and when my boyfriend asked for them, they shorted out the tortillas and he asked if needed they could give some extra tortillas being charged for them and they ignored him. Some older men were eating there and kept getting up and getting the produce for their meals with no attention given. Very poor service. The one star is for the food but the service ruined it.
I shopped at this location on a Monday around 2 PM and the traffic was slow, the store was highly organized, very clean and ultimately it was a very pleasant experience. We were able to enjoy yourselves going through each aisle looking at the different items that they had available, and the staff was very helpful. I will continue coming to this location even though it’s a little bit out of my way.
...I had not been to this awesome experienced-filled place in quite a bit...Boy!!! Was I in for a huge, very pleasant surprise!!!I strongly recommend El Super for, not just your Mexican food, groceries and household items, but rather, for everything that you may need, want or desire to purchase... youll most definitely find it all here!!! ♥️🙂
What place? Oh I see it El Super is that how you say it I sent it with an English Caucasian accent El Super like the letter L or like El Cid well it was okay meaning it was good I bought a few Mexican candies because I love them a lot especially coconut and stuff and they got good prices as well. I guess thats all I can say about this place because Ive only been there for maybe three times I guess it was pretty good and its a Sunday morning so it was I found a parking place right away. But one thing for sure I could be a whole lot better if it were so you know Murphy mobile Bubba hubba bubble bubble flapping chicanitas Mamacita walking around know what I mean what Im saying hahaha I just kidding. Just kidding. I really aint no not yet
El Super has dramatically improved. Produce is good, the bakery is excellent especially their 3 leches birthday cakes. The customer service, cashiers are very nice and attentive to what youre looking for. I havent visited the meat market yet but Im sure its improved because the whole store looks clean. I definitely reccomend the low prices on produce wednesday and thursday especially, produce has been better than walmarts, and the bakery.
Great experience store was kept organized, checkout was fast as it normally is. Some decent deals that are usual 😁. Fideo 3 for .99 and we got some yummy oranges by the pound but hey still an in and out stop didnt have to buy so much today. Remember dont over use plastic bags not great for environment.
The prices for the meat and fruit are pretty cheap, and friendly staff.but when buying fruit from this place it looks good but when you take it home a u want to eat it goes bad and no taste. Who ever distributes the food to them either they cut the fruit green and they store on the fridge and when they unpack it for us to buy is no good it looks good but not sweet the mangos are sour, oranges are tasteless, as well as other fruit. Ur better off paying a little more and eat good fruit. Yes its cheap but not good.
I grocery shop at this location at least once a month. The product selection 99% of the time is pretty good. I am always pleasantly surprised to see what kind of fruits and vegetables they have in season and priced very well. Today decided to get an horchata from their Deli and much to my delight it was very good. I will definitely be revisiting this location as I normally do once a month if not more.
Very recommend it! 👍 Bought some fish, and people from the meat department cook them for You. It was a very good fried fish, too late for a picture is already gone. Fruits and vegetables look very fresh, and prices are not bad. I will come again, over and over for sure
So nice place to do your groceries. Wide variety of food and goods. Has a good atmosphere, everything is well organized and cashiers are relatively fast. Also you can prepared food, delicious and big burritos, juices and even electronics and jewelry.Excellent for quick visits!
This grocery store has a pretty good restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner. Good prices clean not as crowded as other places they always have enough cashiers to handle the number of customer. The meat department is great they will cut meat to any thickness you want.
Prices are good in certain things. Now you better be careful with the prices that you paid.Because they dont remove the signs from the sales that they had before. You and the pain twice the price.About the Fish Department ,they still fried the fish. But you better be prepared to have overcook fish. And the salad bar did they used to have to be able to eat it there ; is no longer available. Now they dont want to give you lemons and hot sauce to go with it.To me it was much better before.
Read all the signs, sometimes the price shown is if you buy large quantities. If you miss the requirements they will happily charge the higher price and say nothing about it and If you complain they treat you like the enemy.Though its a good place to buy produce and meats.
This place generally had some decent fruites and veggies for a cheap price but it’s disgusting to see how they care for the food. I took pictures but unfortunately I can’t upload them here. There are fruit flies everywhere which eat the fruit while it goes bad. On top of that, they don’t do anything to get rid of the pest. As the food goes bad, they keep their prices up without realizing that no one is going to buy rotting food. If you go there, you’ll see what I mean. Whoever is in charge of this place,Really doesn’t care for the hygiene aspect of the foods.
Had a lovely experience here the woman was great behind the counter & was delightful. My Spanish is a bit ruff but she loved that I used it & even helped me enunciate a couple words better. Ohhhh & The frescas were just just amazing she let me sample them all!😁 I love this place & El Paso cant wait to visit again!
This place smells like dirty mop water mixed with dirty fish EVERY time we go. Which is now as little as possible because of the stench. Fruits and vegetables look horrible and unappealing. Today i gagged again smelling like pee mixed WITH dirty mop water. Come on people, its disgusting EVERY time. The owner can review others listed here and wish a great weekend but cant respond to the comments on stench smell throughout the store. Im sure they can afford to get industrial cleaners and require employees to mop with FRESH CLEANER MORE OFTEN!!
I had a bad experience and one complaint with the bakery department because the prices changed. I got a small tiny cake for $149.99 which I ordered in advance for my daughters 15th birthday. It was not the cake I expected to receive. The bakery is not the same. Nor the store is the same. New corporation. New owners. The prices went up.
Its crowded. The aisles are filled with weird items. The bakery has shelves of weird-looking breads and confections. Most conversations are held in a weird language. Spanish.Am I still in the US?Absolutely, and this store is a treasure trove of items normally found in the Mercado of Juarez, Mexico. Not only will you find exclusive produce and ingredients, but their meats are always fresh and at great prices. If you dont know the language on the labels, step up to the counter and one of the butchers will find what youre looking for.Their seafood area has a variety of selections, but not fresh. However, were in the middle of the Chihuahua desert. Of course it was shipped frozen. Even so, if filleting the fish is your thing, you can buy whole swimmers as well as squid, octopi and more for your dish. There are also a number of stalls both outside and inside the store that are worth a peek. And of course, you can pay bills at the customer service counter. Its crowded.I can see why.
The soup (especially the caldo res) is delicious and comes with Spanish/Mexican rice and corn tortillas. They substituted the flour tortilla for me. The bakery always has a good variety of bread and pan dulce. The people are friendly, courteous, and helpful, and willing to correct any problems. Check the ads in store for more sales.
My last visit to store was a couple of years ago and I enjoyed the traditional Mexico atmosphere with music n concession stands with variety foods, Mexican candies ,excellent prices on vegetables and fruits and the pastries!OMG!delicious. .....but today I saw a different name atmosphere was quiet cold, dull, and very americanised it was like shopping at at a small typical store was very ,very dissapointed.will not go there again.and I have relatives in Arizona that when they travel n pass El Paso they looked forward to the old store and they were disappointed also will not shop there again.........
Looking for a grape juice they said they had, ten minutes of searching at the exact spot they said it would be and finally asked another kid if they had any. She said if we have it who doesnt have grape juice? Line took forever and Im sorry old lady but the person in front of me was almost so obviously to the ten people standing being her. The lady carded me for cigarettes, Im 32 and she asked me to confirm my birthday on my ID. I seen 13 year olds by ciggs at that place. So yeah your lucky 2 stars El super lame, but i did see some good prices but bad costumer everything.
We were there 10/8 around 9pm they only had one registered open they had a couple of members waiting in line they finally decided to open another register, but instead of helping the members that they been waiting there the longest they didnt. So I had to wait at least 10 more minutes to get checked out. And the front end people I think they really need more training especially the young lady that was closing that night. Really bad attitude.
Went to the Cocina to buy some tacos and enchiladas, lady who served our food had a nasty attitude, we asked a question about the plates and she seemed annoyed by it, she even threw my enchiladas onto the tray and some of the cheese went flying out of the plate.. If you dont like your job, then dont work there. But overall, good store, variety of options.
Seems a bit more organized and definitely more lit than when it was Ranch Market. The specials are still the same, and the layout is moved around but still basically the same. The workers seemed to have learned some English from when I visited last, so thats a plus. You cannot get money orders here anymore though. I used to be able to get my MOs here for $.10 each, now I gotta pay $.99 at Circle K. Its okay though. The specials on meats and fruits make up for it.
My wife went to the store to purchase catfish when she bought it home we noticed it smelled Spoiled and the Flesh was dark in color went to take it back spoke to management asked for a refund or exchange and they denied a refund or exchange I don’t know why they’re selling spoiled fish be careful shop with caution
Im really disappointed about the service of the cashiers, today was my third time those cashiers keep any item from your shopping bag… when I arrive to my home to make my dinner I saw I miss a a dressing salad and pasta bag so , please everytime check your bags before to leave this store so they are making steal our grocery so BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR ITEMS…
Staff had not finished putting out pastries when I arrived. Waited patiently in line to ask for one of the pastries they had not even put out. The woman working the counter did not even listen to what I asked and just pointed me to the display racks. Last time I ever get goodies for coworkers from that place. When you can get service it is lackadaisical, they are not even prepared to handle a small lunch crowd. Go elsewhere.
You now have to bag your own groceries, which have always been overpriced here. I went here days ago, and a big, fat, bald idiot wearing a uniform told me that I couldnt go in with my backpack. This wasnt the case before, so Walmart and Target gained new customers, myself included. From what I understand, the owners are from Mexico, and they changed the name and practices in order to take advantage of loop holes and pay less money to the government. There is no customer service here.As far as the big, fat, worthless, bald idiot is concerned, remember that you are getting paid peanuts to do a crappy job. My job is pretty cool, and I definitely get paid more than you. Always remember that.
I have good service but the food is always the same thing and it looks dried out or has been there to long..The chicken soup is the best I have ever have eaten, the beef soup is also good. The baked chicken is to dried out ,I would not buy it.l think all the hot food that you have out in the open should be covered because of flies.and why dont you make the Jamaica drank?
I bought a 65.5 pounds of pork. It was given to me whole. I later called to see if they could cut the meat for me and they were going to charge me $56!! That is absurd. Lo que cuesta es la carne no el corte. Tal ves pagaria 15 por 15 minutos de trabajo pero no 56 dollars! que mal servicio.
Horrible customer service. I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to stop chatting with her friend and take my order. Then I went to buy some sour cream and I asked for some from the counter and the old lady behind the counter told me to get it from the little cooler they have in front of the counter. I couldnt find it and she YELL at me its the yellow one, cant you see it? I just left. Im not going to buy anything from there ever again and Im asking everyone I know to do the same.
For the last times I have shopped there I have had the worst experience, I bought a pknof home made flour tortillas and when we got home right as we was gonna eat dinner they had lot of mold, then a pack of porkchops smelled nasty ,today o bought a pk of chicken breast and same thing it smelled nasty.. For sure no more shopping there..
Was great as pro ranch market.. I dont know what happened when el super bought it everything that made this store what it was is now gone.. from the sculptures on the isles to the beer section that had towers of beer and signs of your favorite wine or beverage that just made it feel more welcoming .. this store does not feel authentic anymore all the way down to the employees telling me the owners took out the lonches which were my favorite thing about going there .if you enjoyed pro ranch market for the smells and vibes and just gathering there to eat and great with loved ones like I did hopefully your experience is not soured like mine was coming in after the buyout and remodel only to find everything I loved about my favorite supermarket was changed and or rid of. El paso does not need another big 8 or lowes it needs what its had since pro ranch opened.
Horrible place since the change from Rancho market to El super market.. bought some tamales because I always loved their tamales, however this time the tamales were hard and old. I even got horrible customer service, the lady was real rude just because we asked for another tamale! I dont recommend this place anymore. Horrible employees and horrible products!

2022-04-30I recommend the butcher shop and meat market inside El Super. The variety of fresh-cut meats they offer and the value are hard to beat. Their display cases are always bountiful; the selections look fresh and make you want to make a purchase. On top of that, the staff is friendly and knowledgable. I prefer to go early, or there can sometimes be a line.

2021-09-14Their bakery is excellent! I asked last minute (a day or two before) if they could prepare me two dozens of white cupcakes which I would then decorate myself. The lady gladly took my order. They have a bunch of very cute and beautiful cakes to choose from as well if you don’t want to get all Martha Stewart and decorate your own. (Their tres leches and chocoflan cakes are 10/10.)Also swing by next to them and try the food. I personally liked the ceviche. A little too spicy for my liking but I ate that up and was pleased!

2022-01-25Store is nice, clean...lots of merchandise to choose from. Bakery is awesome with good prices. But the hot meal station is terrible...they use old oil that you smell and taste on the food.....plus we were badly in need of the restroom after the dinner....Ill never buy hot meals there again. But I will shop in the store.

2022-05-16Products are ok, but some cashiers treat you like sh..t when you dont speak spanish. And today a female cashier charged me extra, I realized that when I arrived home. Receipt can be barely read. I added receipt as well. O bought 1 milk, but I was charged for 2Edit: It is happening 2nd time, make sure to check screen, I bought 2 parsleys, cashier counted it as 3
