I go to the elks diner probably 3 days a week. The waitresses are so nice, the foods delicious and when you go in there no matter if you have a permanent seat waiting for you or your brand new, they make you feel like family. Plus, they have the best coffee anywhere. ☕ So if you want a good experience to where you know youre going to walk away happy this is the place to go.
Worst breakfast Ive had in a while. I got the Elks scramble which didnt have a lot of flavor to it. It was also watery and made the home fries soggy. I ended up not eating it because of how awful it tasted and was still charged for it. The waitress was not friendly at all. I was rushed to order even though I told them I had never been there before and wasnt given any suggestions. Would never come back here again.
Please visit this diner in the heart of Burleson!! The staff is country friendly! Ordered the senior SOS which was plenty: 1 scrambled egg, hash browns & biscuit & gravy. Place was almost full with customers & parking lot was full but another customer pointed out an empty table. Dont wait to be seated. Would recommend.
My family likes to try new places at least once a month and this was our choice pick this month. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was very friendly, I love they use Folgers coffee! However the food was less than appealing than hoped for. Would return for another chance and hope it is better tasting that time.
We have eaten at the Elks Diner for many years but over the last year, it has really gone down hill. Its no longer a clean establishment. Aside from the evident filth the booths are worn down and uncomfortable. They have installed strange wood partitions on some of the booths complete with the lumber sticker still on and a mirage of splinters waiting for you. Dont touch them! The waitress we had today called me baby girl three or four times before I politely asked her not to do that. Im over fifty and by no stretch of the imagination am I small. Its a level of cringe I do not need while trying to enjoy my pancakes. Another waitress had yoga pants on. I mean, come on yall. You can do better than this. The overall vibe is gloomy, and maybe thats because the dead roaches in the windowsill harsh any kind of happiness you have coming in. The food was was “okay” and the prices fair for what you get. This place should be your absolute last option and maybe even after youve gone without food for three days last option. Nothing will bother you at that point.
Best breakfast food anywhere. Found this place totally by accident and have eaten there every first day off from work that I get a chance to. The staff treat you like family. I am super impressed with this little eatery. I recommend it to everyone often. A must try for yourself.
My husband and very good friend visit Elks Diner almost every Saturday and Sunday for well over 6 years. Occasionally I drop in during the week for my fix of Liver and Onions...I know MOST of you think YUCK, but I am here to tell you, if IF you do like liver and onions...THIS IS THE PLACE to get it. I will even go so far as to say Its better than my Momma use to make. We love the small hometown feeling that this place offers and the staff is wonderful. The food is wonderful and the prices are too.
Its a feel good place where you feel like your family as soon as you walk in the door. The food is awesome but the coffee is to die for.Its funny you dontknow if its the service, the home made pies or the homemade food that draws me here at least once a week.Give yourself a treat and come and see what makes this place magical.♡
We eat out a lot in Burleson. There are some really fine dining establishments that have great food, only hire mostly young highschool or college kids as servers, and have the crowds to show for it. Today I tried the Elks Diner for breakfast. It was good food for good prices. The waitstaff was an assortment of ages and our waitress was incredible at great service. I like the idea of giving employment opportunities to everyone in the community. For a Sunday breakfast at 9:30, we didnt have to wait. It did fill up quickly while we were there. Well be back to bring my FIL there. It wasnt as noisy as some other places can get. Im glad we tried it.
This place is great. Unfortunately, the competition in Burleson for breakfast places is at a SuperBowl level and this is a Wild Card team.I can say most of the same things about this place as I say about the other places. So, I’m going to just name the attributes that make it different.Good - It’s a MUCH more quaint, down home experience. The staff is actually a slight bit friendlier. Due to it being a little less popular, it is easier to find a table.Bad - The staff may be friendlier, but they are also a little slower. The portions are smaller, and the prices are still about the same. The Eggs Benedict is about half the size of Our Place’s, half the flavor of the Brunch House’s, and they are about the same price.Overall, it goes Brunch House and Our Place are 1a and 1b, this is a pretty close third, and all the IHOP’s and Denny’s and Waffle Houses are in the locker room with their underwear on their heads asking the coach for their football bat.
My friend took me here today for breakfast to celebrate my birthday. I had the hungry man meal: 2 Eggs, 2 Bacon, 2 Sausage Patties(I subbed this for 2 slices if bacon) and French Toast. I had a french toast here a while back that was almond crusted with strawberries. I didnt see that on the menu so I asked she said we can put pecans on top of it. I assumed this meant sprinkled but they were actually crusted so put on prior to cooking. This was to my delight lots of pecans too!Everything was cooked to my specifications and the French toast was perfect an not soggy! My friend got the breakfast taco plate with home fries and toast. She said it was very good.I really enjoyed todays breakfast. The waitresses were friendly.Last time I was here that wasnt the case. Two waitresses fought across the restaurant and my waitress tried to tell them to go to the back and talk to each other because you are disturbing the guests. They both turned on her and started yelling at her . my waitress apologized for this happening and I told her thank you for trying to put a stop to it and being professional.I informed the cashier/manager and she was very matter of the fat well she should have stayed out of it!!! I was shocked told her I thought my waitress was the only one acting like a professional.Back to today I was very happy with the wait staff they were smiling and joking with each other and helping each other out with a smile. This was what I think a Diner experience should be fun staff, fast but yummy food and cozy hometown a locals type place!!
Do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant. Service was great, food was great, theres a lot of attention to detail . All the tables and chairs were in good condition and every surface looked clean. Restroom was immaculate. I was very impressed and Im definitely going back.
We thought we would give this hometown restaurant a try. Big mistake, the waitress Was awful. She dropped our pancakes on the floor, and forgot several things we had ordered. After the amount of time we spent waiting for our food you would think it would be hot, NOT. Needless to say this was 10 am and they had 5 customers in the restaurant. Dont waste your time or money on this place, go to Our Place Restaurant. You get great service and hot food!
My fav for a cup of coffee or a country cooked meal. Waitresses are great and prices are good. Place is clean. Loud uncontrolled kids are nevertolerated and Ive never seen them there but a minute if they are. Respectable restaurant for good mannered family or elderly comfortable meals. Nice, clean, respectable, reasonably priced.
If youre looking for good home cooking at an affordable price, this is the place to be. You can eat breakfast at any hour as well as the lunch & or dinner menu. As any good place its packed on Sat and Sun so patience may be needed.Today I saw it paid forward 4 X with others picking up other peoples checks, not even knowing them. Like a big family!
Stopped by for breakfast Monday morning. After reading some of the bad reviews, I was unsure if I should. But I was in the area and wanted to see for myself. Good decision. Friendly staff, quick service , best breakfast Ive had out in a while. Probably stop in again next time Im by there.
To start with, the coffee was horrible. I took a drink and almost spit it out. I ordered chicken fried chicken and when I received my food, I thought I was eating at KFC. HORRIBLE experience. (I actually think KFC would have been better, HA!) I dont know if the place changed management or cooks but the food was the worst I have ever tried. This was not my first time at Elks either. It was always good until today. I took one bite of my food and just left it. The server asked and I told her I didnt like it. The manger came and asked if everything was ok, I told her no, that the food was horrible AND I still got charged for the meal that I didnt eat. To say the least this will be my last time at Elks. What a disappointment. I dont recommend this place to anyone. Make a little longer drive and go to Our Place, that restaurant never disappoints!
My Reuben sandwich was horrid: soggy with tough corned beef. If the cheese was Swiss it wasnt apparent. The worst sandwich Ive ever had. It was so soggy I had to eat it with a knife and fork. Onion rings were a pale tan, not the golden brown they should have been. There were only two people in the place, and both had their food. There was no excuse for the extremely slow service. We wont go back. Poor to mediocre food and service.
Service greatFood notFood undercookedEven though I ask when ordered no undercooked foodThe bottom of eggs were black and hashbrowns tasted really badProbably wouldnt want to see the grillFoid taste like it wasnt cleaned for a very long timeWaste of money and timeSpeaking of timeWhen will restaurants understand if i want fast food Ill use a drive thru

2022-04-09Today was my first time to visit. I decided to go here because of the reviews. The serving size is super awesome. They are, most definitely, not stingy with the food. However, the taste is much to be desired. It was kind of bland to be honest, and the beans were under cook, not as soft as they should have been. Conversely, the service was fabulous. Stacy - our waitress - did a fantastic job. Thank you, Stacy 👏

2022-04-26The food was excellent. I ordered an omelette with special requests, and they did what I requested with no problem. Service was great, and our server was very friendly. The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars is because the place extremely filthy. It looks as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years. If they were to improve on the cleanliness, I’d definitely come back.

2022-04-23I would give it zero but no optionMy wife and I were looting for a place to eat at times on weekends when we moved to townThe server was too interested in talking to customers for long periods of time.E had to wait well over 10 minutes before we were even Acknowledged .The service was totally unprofessional. The food was ok. Really hard to screw up eggsWhen paying has to ask Cashier if she was interested in knowing how our service wasProceeded to tell her about the experienceTo my amazement she said they get those same complaints about the same waitress a lot.I asked why she still has a job there? She said that she didn’t know.So I told her I would never return dic since they didn’t value customers complaints.

2022-06-12Been here many times and it never disappoints. I love the feeling of a small town cafe, the random coffee cup you get is fun and really lends to the small town feeling. Burleson is growing, but this cafe keeps it down home.

2022-02-09First time coming, I got the omelet and home fries, all were delicious. Staff is friendly and atmosphere is very nice and comfy. Edit: Came back this morning, stood by the counter for 5 minutes and was greeted by absolutely no one. There were 2 girls working the floor and 2 girls working the bar. Both floor girls walked past me multiple times. One girl at the bar looked at me and I thought I was about to be greeted. Didnt happen. The first time I came, there was a much older lady working in the front and she made my visit very pleasant. I guess she wasn’t in this morning. Now look, the person reading this has zero reason to believe me but as a black woman, I’m the LEAST likely person in the room to make a situation about race but I just truly felt like I wasn’t wanted here. I moved to this part of town because I wanted to be around other people that work hard and take care of their families. We live in Crowley but I frequent Burleson and I have never been treated so poorly. Thank God I found Lizzi’s Lunchbox or my lunch would have been ruined. My food was great BTW. Anywhoo, do better guys. LOVE is the answer, not hate.
