Yearly vaccines, a broken paw, bronchitis, skin allergies: These amazing people have been so kind and helpful to me and my pup. Even when I lived in San Antonio, I traveled back to Austin for her visits because I love this place. They even have snacks on hand for both humans and dogs lol
Every month I’m greeted by the friendliest staff, ready and happy to see my Kennedy. They saved his life by restarting his failing liver, and after a diagnosis based on tests fully explained and explored with me, are now actively treating his Addison’s disease. Phenomenal service and communication even during covid quarantine times. Every time I bring him, in my 7 year old 80lb dog acts like a puppy, excited to see his friends again! Couldnt ask for a better team to look after my boy.
No matter what has gone on in the life of our pets: Random illness, regular check-ups, surgeries, or teeth cleanings - literally everyone on staff at Firehouse is knowledgeable, thorough, kind, and does the best by our pets. One of our cats was under Firehouses care when he was diagnosed with heart disease. We were able to keep him comfortable for a few months. When it was time for him to pass, everyone on the team was there to help us through. We even got a sympathy card from our main vet. Thank you all for your service :)
I feel like I am taking my dogs to the Wizard of Oz Vet... dogs go inside and the Vet calls me (in the car out front) to discuss how the dogs doing. The Vet ALWAYS takes time to explain things - never rushed! Dogs are all smiles going into the facility. Covid19 changes the way pets go to the Vet but has not diminished the level of care they receive there. AWESOME!
There is just no veterinarian in the area like Dr. Saunders. She is kind, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable. She is the only vet that I have been able to trust with our dog. She truly goes above and beyond in every single way. We have been to many other vets in the Austin and surrounding area and they have always left me feeling like it was all a business or to make money. Firehouse is the opposite of that. I trust Dr. Saunders and would do anything she recommends for our boy. Thanks Dr. Saunders for being so dang awesome! Also, a plus: our dog Jeffrey is totally obsessed with her, too.
Our dog was suffering and Firehouse got us an appointment that day. We had recently moved to Austin and were lucky to have asked a neighbor who they used. The staff and Dr. Mozisek were awesome! They were genuinely concerned about our dog and his health! Place is very clean, too! Will highly recommend!
My dog wasn’t taken care of in his early years so in his older age he needs some extra extra care. He definitely a frequent visitor and he loves them. He’s had two successful surgeries here and I couldn’t be happier they’ve always made me feel at ease. He also goes monthly for nail trims. I moved to the other side of Austin but I still take the drive so he can go where I feel he’s safe and getting the best care. Also during shutdown I was very worried going anywhere the curbside service made me feel at ease and they always had masks.
Both me AND my dog love the staff at Firehouse! They always take such good care of my boy and explain everything clearly and completely to me. They are also so kind and will work with you to find options best for you and your pet. Our last appointment was during all this COVID stuff, and though I wasnt able to go in with him, the experience was as great as ever! One of the staff members came and got him, after calling me to get his history, and after his exam, the doctor called me to let me know how it went.We love firehouse! Such great staff that care for pets and their people so well!
I love Firehouse!! I rescued my pup about 3 months ago and hes had a few minor things occur and Ive received the best care for him at Firehouse. The entire team is super compassionate, quick to respond & I feel very confident and secure with the care they are giving my dog. I have asked 100s of questions and they are patient and very willing to walk me through all of the options to care for my dog. I would highly recommend Firehouse to anyone in need of a vet.
Dr. Saunders, Emily, CJ, and their entire team have been SO wonderful throughout our dogs very long (almost 17) year life. They have supported us through so many of our pets health issues, and they were even better than some specialists we saw in the past. The entire Firehouse team cares for pets (and their owners) like family. They are exceptional in terms of their responsiveness, reliability and quality. We feel like we have found the best vet team in town and we have tried LOTS! Clients for life. We love you Dr. Saunders.
We love EVERYONE in the office. Dr. Faught has been wonderful in helping us decide the best treatments for my two senior German shepherd dogs. They were caring and respectful when we had to put our dear Bentley down and allowed us all of the time we needed, both before and after. They provide a lovely private room as well as a private exit for those leaving after that heartbreaking experience. This is a great place to take your pets, no matter their needs.
I took my puppy for the first time for an eye problem, and everyone was very professional and helpful answering all my questions. Valerie went above and beyond having patience with my puppy as she warmed up to her, and followed her inside the building. The Vet who attended us that day, explained to me thoroughly treatment plan and progress during the visit by phone calls. Scheduling the appointment one day before was very easy and quick. Will definitely be returning for future care for Dukesa!
Update: Unfortunately Minerva left us on Friday. She had an incurable blood disease that left her body incapable of producing red blood cells. Dr. Saunders did everything she could to make Minerva as comfortable as possible for as long as possible. After she passed, Dr. Saunders and her team reached out to express their sympathies and gave me a plethora of amazing resources on grief and healing for both me and my other two cats who were devastated by their sister’s death. I have never met a more kind, sympathetic, and compassionate team. I am beyond appreciative for everything they’ve done for our family.—Firehouse is the best thing that has ever happened to our family and our cat Minerva. The doctor and the staff listened attentively to our concerns, addressed the issues they saw, were empathetic to our situation, and gave my sweet baby girl another chance at life after our regular vet labeled her a failure to thrive. I have never been more glad to have gotten a second opinion! They have also followed up after her initial appointment to monitor progress and address any new questions. I couldn’t be any more grateful to the Firehouse team!
Simply the best! I was looking for a new vet for my pup and I am 100% certain I have picked the best vet in Austin! From the first phone call to the end of the first visit every staff member was so nice and so patient. They really took the time to answer all my questions and discuss current and future treatment/preventative care without trying to sell my 100 different products like several other vets I have been to. Super thoughtful goody bag after the first visit was also an added perk! 10/10 would highly recommend!
Firehouse is such a fantastic place to take your fur babies to for all of their health needs. They will email / text / call you - and work around your schedule and needs for your pet. They truly care about their pet patients and the service / level of care is above and beyond. If you need to drop your pup off for a visit and pickup after work, they are so kind. Our little chihuahua loves to stick around and hang out with the employees there. You can also get your pets a bath/nail trim while at their appointment. I highly recommend Firehouse!
These guys are the best. The intake was smooth and the socially distanced hand off for our new puppys checkup went off without a hitch. The staff was very friendly, competent, and polite. It was our first time with Dr. Mize, and it was was clear that beyond knowing what she was doing and communicating clearly, she really loves pets. Its no surprise, as that combination shines through with everyone at Firehouse. The follow ups were quick and clear, and made it obvious our puppy is in great hands.
Everything is fantastic! All the Doctors and techs are really friendly and take the time to explain everything theyre doing and all the available treatment options. Pricing is very fair and similar to other vet offices weve been to in Austin. They make sure to tell you the prices up front for treatment so you dont get a surprise bill at the end. Ben loves going to see all his friends at Firehouse Westlake!
My dogs have been at Firehouse since it opened. Before I moved it was in my neighborhood. Firehouse is worth the drive. When my dog Maggie was getting older, and emergency medical needs came up, they always made time to see her. When her time came they were helpful and loving. Recently they diagnosed my dog Kelp’s cancer, and got us to a specialist, she is doing fine. The Firehouse vets are all great and the staff professional and friendly.
I’ve been to this veterinarian facility previously, for my other fuzzy family members. However, it has been a few years. Our cat had developed a very obvious UTI issue, I suspected urinary stones. This issue can be deadly. We brought him in for help. The vet technician is actually awesome, the only reason I went with two stars. The veterinarian, is absolutely incompetent. After spending $600, X-rays and urine labs (plus the visit), the only feedback was use happy cat spray. Several days later, I received an email for prescription cat chow ( I had already purchased this, from Petco). We were actually able to collect very large stones from our cats urine, off the floor. I never did receive a follow up from the vet. I have no idea what the lab results were. I’m permanently done with this facility. I hope the awesome tech, moves on. OMG, my son keeps asking “What did the vet say? How were his labs? Did they email you yet?” Nope… Fancy Westlake facility, typical high prices for the area, lovely receptionists, horrible, incompetent vet! If I can diagnose and take better care of our cat, than a vet- then that vet needs to find another career!Soo, a follow up. After I posted my review, I finally received an email from the vet (ironically?). Obviously, my cat needs antibiotics, and yes, the labs came back with a bacterial infection, and told a week later. Also, a ridiculous email from the vet, she couldn’t contact me, my phone number wasn’t working. Hmmm, my phone number works when it’s dialed. I have no use for pathetic lies, iPhones record all calls, even if I missed them. So now, a ridiculous lie and incompetence- I don’t need t-shirts, a fancy waiting room, coffee or tea, I need competency.
After having a bad experience with the level of service of this place and the staff reaching out to solve my concerns, Im giving Firehouse another chance to perform and raise their levels to my family needs and standards. Im selecting 3 stars because Im still yet to determine how will things develop in the coming months and if they will be able to provide the services that we need at reasonable costs. In my last visit, I was happy to discover we can get into the clinic now and not forcing you to do curbside, which I hated. And they only provided the services we requested and nothing extra, and did not try to coerce me into getting things we dont have a need for or dont want to spend money on at this time.Hopefully things will continue to improve. I wish things had been handle efficiently since the beginning without me having to raise my concerns and complaints. But this is where we are now and we will see how things develop.
This place is amazing! The people that work at Firehouse go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. I was given a tour of the hospital, provided help out to my car, and was sent home with a goodie bag. The best part about going here is that my dog was comfortable too. I have a 4 year old dog and for the past 3.5 years going to the vet was very stressful. My dog squirms, yells, screams and makes it impossible for any vet to give him a shot, let alone take blood. The Firehouse staff was able to draw blood from my dog easily. My dog didn’t even try to fight. I am amazed and so happy to find a place that can treat my pet and not put him in a panic the rest of the day.
I love this clinic! All the staff are very helpful, and the vets are very knowledgeable and devoted to caring for my fur babies. I have been able to get my dog in last minute when shes been ill, and the vets have been responsible and thorough without ordering unnecessary expensive or invasive tests. And theyre great with my cat too! Ive shopped around, and these guys are by far my number one choice.
We have been to many vets over the years as dog owners but this is my absolute favorite. Dr. Fought and his team are so friendly and knowledgeable and the facility is spotless. They even have beverages and snacks complimentary for those times when I have to bring my kiddos with me. My wheaten terrier had a cyst removed from his rib cage there last year and they took such good care of him and were very good at communicating through the process. Also their pricing is transparent which is nice as there are no surprises like most vets. I highly recommend them.
We absolutely love Firehouse! We have been taking our pup Leila there since 2012. As soon as we pull up Leila gets so excited and cant wait to visit her friends at Firehouse. Everyone there makes sure to make you feel welcome, and the vets are so great with Leila. Weve even taken her there without an appointment after panicking about an emergency and they were so accommodating. Best animal health center around!!
Wonderful office and staff. Customer and pet focused. I was blown away by the level of service I received. My children were offered juice and animal crackers while we waited, which was not long at all. They were very accommodating to my childrens questions about everything and explained what they were doing and why. They even let them watch while our puppy got his immunizations so they knew he was ok.I live 25 minutes away from Firehouse and their are many vets in between, but I will be gladly make the trip to see them from now on.
The crew at Firehouse Animal Health Center are extremely friendly and helpful. This is my first time with a puppy and they were very open and happy to see us. The vet took care of my pups eye infection. Since I had just moved to Austin the vet was soooo helpful, I could not afford heart warm prevention so she gave me a dose to last me until I got my dog insurance in a month. The care I received at the facility was exactly what I needed having just moved to a new place. They toured me around the facility witnessing a very clean, very efficient place of work. I wouldnt even begin to look for another place to take my dog.
The staff and doctors at Firehouse are wonderful. I followed Dr. Faught there from another Vet because I love how kind and careful he is with my cat as well as how patient he is with explaining her health and procedure issues to me.The entire staff is SO friendly and anxious to help that Im really happy to go out of my way to keep my girl in their capable hands.Best vet EVER!
My experience with a new Veterinarian for my dog is always a stressful time for me. My first time experience with Firehouse was just amazing, they took time to listen, offered several solutions, and let me pick based on what I thought was best for my pet. The office staff was very professional, attentive, and my overall experience helps me to trust Firehouse with my veterinarian needs.
I recently moved to Austin & was looking for a vet here that I would love as the one I went to in Phoenix. Well, I am happy to say I LOVED my experience at Firehouse Animal Health Center. I felt incredibly welcomed by the staff. They were all so friendly. The environment was clean & well maintained, which is always a plus. The vet walked through each of my questions with me & provided me with all the information I needed. Ultimately, I am thankful I found Firehouse & would definitely recommend it!
Absolutely my favorite vets, ever.Ive never had providers take such good care of my kids - much less be so patient with me in making sure I was comfortable with any procedure recommended, understood any follow-up instructions, and making sure all my questions got answered. Every Dr. in the practice is extremely gentle with both my dog and my cat - and if they prefer one to the other they never show it! I really feel that they love and care for every single animal in the practice, no matter the breed or size.Love the front desk staff, too - theyre hilarious, knowledgeable, compassionate and EFFICIENT!The best, hands-down.
Firehouse Animal Health Center was recommended to us and location was convenient. The service we got with our cat was way above and beyond what we expected. The people were very friendly and doctors took their time with us to explain what needed to be done. We enjoyed a cup of coffee (also cokes, tea and water were available). We passed on the animal crackers, but couldnt resist a Hersheys kiss or two. There were treats for the critters, and the place was comfortable and pleasant smelling. Since it was our first visit, we were given a bottle of wine. We were totally impressed.
I have literally never written a review online (thought I put this same review on yelp). I am one of those people who looks at reviews and uses them or research, but never actually puts the work in myself :). Anyway, I had to let people know how amazing this place is.I have never been to a veterinarian where each person there is so positive, compassionate, and competent. My cat recently got very sick and they were amazing in caring for him and trying to find out what was wrong. In the end, our worst fears came true and we had to put my little man down. This was by far the most comfortable experience I have had with having to let a pet go, and I know the care my cat received was second to none. I am so happy I found this place and my cat had such a great place to leave this world in such a comfortable and dignified way.The people REALLY care. I am actually astounded by how great they were, having had animals all my life and having seen different veterinarians around the country. Doctor Harrison is the best veterinarian I have ever had, and its not even close. If you live anywhere near this place, this is, without a doubt, where you want to go.
This vet is AMAZING. I brought my recently adopted kitty here for his first check-up and I am SO THANKFUL. The entire clinic is set up so thoughtfully, especially for cats. There are two cat-only rooms, theres catnip, they utilize Feliway in cat areas, their overnight-stay kennels for cats are completely separate from the dogs. Every instance where I would have wanted special treatment for my cat, theyve got it taken care of! Theres on-site x-rays, surgery, dental cleaning, this clinic is fully equipped to take care of all medical needs. Dr Mozisek was so accommodating and thorough. Really everyone seemed to enthusiastically go out of their way to make sure that my kitty and I were comfortable. I cant recommend this clinic enough.
Firehouse is an amazing group of people that take the best care for your pets. I am in the pet services business and I go out of my way to take my personal dog to Dr. Faught and the staff at Firehouse. Further, their facilities are gorgeous and well equipped and makes your pet feel very comfortable. Highly recommended!
I was taking my newly adopted kitten to this Firehouse location and I was extremely pleased with how friendly the staff was. I went there 4 times in the span of 2 months. The reason I put 3 stars is because I felt like there was always something they were suggesting that my kitten needed. I knew that she needed some vaccines still so I took her mainly for that reason but they always suggested she needed something else. It was either to come back for another check up in a week or some type of medication for some other reason. I’m a first time pet owner so I worry and when they suggested things it almost felt like I couldn’t say no. I am a full time college student and a part time worker so I don’t have a lot of money or pet insurance and every time I went it was never “everything looks great all her vaccines are done for now” it was always something else wrong to make sure I came back again. I just felt like they didn’t have my pet’s best interest or mine at the end of the day and I feel like I ended up wasting hundreds of dollars for things my kitten may have not actually needed. Every visit was over $100.
My dog and I love the veterinarians at Firehouse, we always have the best experience. They always take the time to explain things to me in detail and know all the answers to my questions. I live on the other side of Austin and drive quite a ways to take my dog to Firehouse because I trust them and cant imagine taking my dog anywhere else!
I love all the docs and techs at Firehouse! When I got my two new cocker kids, I made sure they each had an initial visit the day after adoption day, and now I know they will be in good hands forever. It is evident that everyone there LOVES animals, and my dogs are never afraid of going there. As a fairly inexperienced dog owner, I appreciate how willing they are to answer even stupid questions. Firehouse ROCKS!
When our long standing vet couldnt fit us in immediately to see our sick dog that they have seen since she was born, i decided to look around and found Firehouse. It was close to home and they had me bring her right in. I was extremely pleased with the staff and how quickly they got back with me on Aprils issues. We now have a new vet. I highly recommend them.
Firehouse is the best veterinary group I could have possibly asked for with a special-needs pup like Sodapop. When I first adopted him, I was nervous about being able to find a vet that would be able to help me stay on top of his neurological issues. I’m so happy that Firehouse was recommended to me, because they have been the absolute best. Dr. Saunders and the entire staff always take such amazing care of him, and it gives me piece of mind knowing that they’re there to support us. Sodapop and I say thanks from the bottom of our hearts.
Dr. Laura Saunders took great care of our puppy! Our puppy was sick with a high fever and Dr. Saunders was able to take care of her. We were worried about our puppy but Dr. Saunders professionalism, communication, and care for our puppy gave us relief. Thank you Dr. Saunders and Firehouse for taking such great care of Peaches!!
I switched over to Firehouse roughly a year ago and have been very pleased with the service and staff. I found myself in an emergency with my Great Dane this past year and Dr. Faught took him right in. The level of knowledge and professionalism has far succeeded that of their completion. I have finally found a vet and staff that care as much about my dogs as I do. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality vet!
We met Dr. Faught almost 20 years ago when he was at a different vet clinic and taking care of our sweet lab, Bumper. We loved him so much that when he opened his own clinic it was a no-brainer to follow him! Bumper lived to be 13 years old and has since gone to Heaven and now Dr. Faught and all of the amazing people at Firehouse take care of our sweet Aussie, Shiny! We will always go to Firehouse and we regularly recommend their services to friends and family. The facilities are amazing and they always make you feel like youre their only client.
A friend of mine recommended Firehouse after a discussion that my current vet, was just too far away with all the Austin traffic. I am glad he did, they are a great group of people with a great facility. My dog is super important to me, so a change from an already great group of people was a hard choice. Seems as though I am good hands...!!
Our experience here is always great! We love the entire team of staff at Firehouse 🤗 and so do our pets. We’ve been a spoiled and happy client for nearly 9 years now. Thank you Dr. Faught and the Firehouse team for the excellent care and service. My family and I really appreciate it!!!
Dr. Faught was extremely thorough. He took his time examining Abbi & didnt rush through her evaluation. He even took the time to address additional concerns/issues I had not discussed when setting my appointment. The clinic technician was extremely considerate, patient & knowledgeable. They were also very gentle with Abbi, which is something I noticed throughout the visit. It was more than evident he has the expertise I am looking for in vet. We all want the best for our pets and thats what I found at Firehouse Animal Health Center. The clinic itself was convenient, clean & personalized. I appreciated the kindness of the staff and all the amenities provided.
Great service and care. I miss seeing everyone face to face, but the level of care under the new COVID reality is just as good as it ever was. I am always confident my animals are well cared for and loved when they are in with all of you and the telephone conferencing is always thorough and my questions are always answered and most importantly, my dogs and cat are well-served. When specialists are needed they refer out to the best so for all care, everyday or more serious, I wouldnt go anywhere else.
I can not say enough nice things about this clinic. From the second my boyfriend and I entered the door with our new pup Lulu Belle, they were so nice and accommodating!!The clinic is beautiful and modern with coffee, tea and water in the lobby... the good kind of coffee!!!Our pup is a Shar Pei and Dr. Jenna Mike was referred to me because I was told she was familiar and knew a bunch about all the Shar Pei eccentricities and yes she did!!! She is the best! The whole staff is too!!!I will be referring all of my friends with pets here!!!
This Vet office is wonderful. They treat you like an individual and accommodate special requests. My dog is terrified once taken into an exam room so they kindly met with him in the waiting room for the exam. He thought he was meeting my friends and it relaxed him. They also are helpful and friendly with follow-ups. The location is fabulous from all areas of Austin; north or south as its on 360 by the bridge. Its especially nice if you are in Westlake!
We followed Dr. Faught from another clinic because hes absolutely the best. The new facility and staff are wonderful and we always feel like he takes extra time and care and attention to our little June, a Boston Terrier. So glad they opened Firehouse, and we are blessed to only have our annual visits, but everything I actually look forward to them :) Whole-heartedly recommend Firehouse!
Pickle loves coming here and the staff is always so amazing! They always have the pets best interest in mind while incorporating the owners concerns. They never make you feel bad or embarrassed about having to decline certain things bc of cost and help you figure out the right treatment plan for priority things to keep your furbaby healthy and happy! They really do care the most about making sure your pet gets the care the they need:)
I visited this clinic for the first time this week to address an ear issue on our beloved Labrador Retriever, Solomon. I cannot say enough great things from the very friendly appointment booker to the greeting I received when we arrived to the high-end facility itself! Dr. Mozisek, DVM was friendly, informative, concise and most importantly didn’t suggest a laundry list of services to increase my bill. We are moving close by in the coming months and I am thrilled to have found this great veterinary practice for our family!
I have been taking both my dog and cat to Firehouse Animal Health Center since I relocated to Austin. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. I have been very impressed with the professionalism and care my animals have received during our visits there! I would recommend this practice to anyone!
This is hands down the best vet office I have ever taken my dogs to. I have a pittie mix and blind dachshund and they loved on both as their own! It’s a bit of a drive for me and slightly higher price then I’m used to but the level of love and service this team puts in is priceless💕 We love Firehouse Animal Hospital!
You simply cannot find a more caring and competent vet in Austin. From routine to the unexpected the have you covered. More than once I have had semi-emergencies and they always fit me in! They have even been helping me with one of my foster kittens and have been so understanding of the situation. I cannot recommend firehouse enough!
This place is excellent. I havent been to a vet I have really trusted in awhile. Everyone is so nice and I know the vets/techs are extremely thorough with Bella. I have full confidence that they truly do look over all of the animals closely. They have found things on my Lab that other vets never see. Thanks so much for going above and beyond. It makes a difference in proactively catching issues with peoples loved ones before something comes up and its too late.
Excellent veterinary care - I have been taking my adopted lab there since she joined our family 3+ years ago. Quality of care matters a lot to me - care is comprehensive and very clear what plan and options are before testing or treatment. Excellent customer service as well.
Dr. Saunders and the team were absolutely great with Alabama during her recent surgical checkup. I really appreciate the staff taking the exam at Alabamas speed. She can be fractious at times, and came through this particular exam all happy and tail wagging. It means a lot knowing that Firehouse is a veterinary clinic that doesnt stress her out. Thank you all so much!
I was referred to Firehouse by the owner of Woof Gang Bakery in Westlake (Thanks Amy!) and couldnt be more pleased with the recommendation! Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly, patient and caring.I went it in yesterday without an appointment and yet within 15-minutes was greeted by Dr. Faught. They ran tests (that 2 prior vet clinics overlooked) and within 1 hour my dog and I left with answers and solutions. Shes feeling MUCH better today and I am definitely a Firehouse advocate! Thanks to Dr. Faught, Tom and Lisa for being so good at what you do and taking the time to get to know your patients.
My 6 year old dog (Bella a delightful lab mix) has been Dr Faughts patient all her life. I was delighted when I heard that he had moved to his own practice in Davenport Village as it is so convenient for me. The facility is wonderful - open and airy. The staff are friendly and professional. Bella was delighted to see Dr Faught again - as was I! I highly recommend this practice .
This place is GREAT! My dog Molly has so many issues with her ears, eyes, and allergies and they have been so great to her! They also spend extra time with us going over all the different options we have and I can tell they truly care about her well being! Would definitely recommend firehouse to anyone!!!
I have dealt with multiple vets in our lives and this office is the best I’ve ever been to. This is my actual text to all of my friends that ask me about where I take my dogs and yes it’s this long: “Its a bit more expensive than the average, but I feel good about every dollar I’ve spent. With my dogs going through random issues recently plus the regular check ups I am so happy I have them. Dr. Mozisek is sooo amazing! I think I’ve seen every vet there and love them all but she is sooo knowledgeable and cares so much. She literally makes me feel like we are her only patients-even when Sam and Shiner throw out an attitude from time to time 😏
We could not be more impressed with the level of service and professionalism. My first visit was panicked & unscheduled and I was sitting at their door at 7:30am. They pulled us right in, were so welcoming and compassionate and more importantly, were able to help right away. It is a great facility, with a great staff, reasonable prices and they make you feel confident they will be able to take care of your fur babies.
When I said my 12 yr. old Lab would likely freak-out if I couldnt accompany her to the exam, Dr. Mozisek offered to do it outside on the patio near me. And when I questioned a prescription, again the vet explained her treatment plan & was willing to reduce the cost. Firehouse is the best!
If youre looking for a compassionate and professional veterinarian for your fur baby, turn to Dr. John Faught at Firehouse. Our pets have been seeing him for years and actually are excited to greet him when we get to his office! He is extremely knowledgeable and communicates clearly. I highly recommend Dr. Faught as well as his very qualified staff. Their care and concern for our pets welfare is most appreciated. Thank you!
Was a first class experience. They not only took excellent care of my dog who had to have several teeth pulled, but they are very attentive to the customer in general. Just a very first class experience with not only knowledgable vets but expert customer service. Drank my gift bottle of wine for being a new patient and thought I should take the time to review them as a thanks for everything.
I have really enjoyed having this great Vet in our neighborhood. We traveled to Italy with our dog and they made the paperwork so easy and followed up to make sure everything went well. They are also so friendly, I love the welcome gift they give you for your first time to see them. Dr. Vaught is such a sweetie and is great with my little Indy.
Shiner and I recently came in for our first visit and we had a great experience. Both Dr. Faught and his staff were very friendly and understanding about my Dogs behavior issues. Shiner also loved Dr. Faught and he was very graciously accepting of his puppy kisses and hyper puppy greeting which was mortifying for me . Dr. Faught also personally called to follow up with my about my dogs test results and treatment options. Really great practice !
What a wonderful vet! These people really love animals and it shows in their care. My dog has a lot of health issues and Ive seen some top notch vets and these people rank right up at the top with their knowledge and ideas how to help my baby. Thank you! Im glad I found you.
Terrific service! I arrived to my appointment half an hour early and was promptly ushered in to begin the examination process of my cat within minutes of walking in the door. Knowledgeable and competent staff made for a very thorough and quick visit, all the while making sure I understood everything. Plus a bottle of wine for new customers just sweetened the deal that much more!
We could not be happier with our experience with Firehouse Westlake. Each time we’ve had to bring our Teddy in, he is treated with the utmost care and attention. I feel everyone at Firehouse truly has a love for animals and providing peace of mind to the “pawrents.” Teddy is in the best hands here.
We love Dr. Faught and his team there at Firehouse. We moved with Dr. Faught when he started Firehouse and have been so glad we did that. The team there loves our pets and has helped us through a few rough times. We look forward to our visits with them (the good annual visits of course).
From Sally at the front desk, Greg the vet tech who spoke to me initially, and Dr. Mozisek in the exam room, I was so very pleased. These are individuals who love and treat your animals as if they were their own. The lowest stress vet experience of my life. I am forever grateful for the kindness I was treated with, even though I was running fifteen minutes late for my appointment. Thank you all so very, very much.
This place is amazing. My Advanced Biology students toured the facility and were able to view a dog spay. Dr. Faught and Dr. Mozisek are professional, incredibly kind, and courteous. The technicians are great as well. Our behind the scenes experience was fantastic. You will love having these people care for your animals.
Cash, my 2 yr old pomeranian/yorkie mix dog, LOVES Firehouse!! Dr Faught is the best vet in Austin: extremely knowledgeable, super friendly, loves animals, and Cash LOVES him. Dr Faught efficiently explains treatments and the various options that may be available. WIthout a doubt, he is extremely caring and makes sure to follow-up to ensure things are ok for your little guy or girl. The clinic is incredible: very welcoming, top of the line, beautiful, modern, clean, and has state of the art equipment. The staff is great, they are all soo friendly and welcoming, and very considerate of every customer/pet that walks in the door. Firehouse makes bringing your pet to the vet so enjoyable (not just for you, but for pet!)
Our eight year old lab had never had an ear infection before, so when he kept scratching his ears, we thought he might have caught fleas from other dogs at the dog park. After a couple of flea baths, during the week, and no relief for his ears, I took off work early on a Friday afternoon, and we were running late due to a traffic jam on Westlake Drive! We got there right at closing time, but they welcomed us, and were so kind and considerate of my stressed out and suffering fur kid! They took a swab of both ears and, sure enough, he had a very severe ear infection in both ears. The staff was amazing and really put me at ease, and I even left with a bottle of red wine..whichis complimentary to all new customers! They give you a choice of red or white wine to take home with you. Affordable services, courteous and friendly staff who really care about your baby as much as you do!
For such a ritzy-feeling place with helpful, happy staff, I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg to get my cats eye checked out, but I found not only the experience great, but the price fair as well. Well worth the drive up from where I live to bring my pets here. Definitely a vet I trust with my kitties!
Our family pet is just that, a member of our family. Hand down, Firehouse treats our four-legged member with the attention and care our hearts so desire her to have. They make every effort to provide superior service, while at the same time being cognizant of our pocket books. If you have a family pet, you should look no further.
I feel as though my initial review is probably buried in amongst the other 5-star reviews. When I moved to Austin in 2011, I went to Austin Urban. Impersonal care, and my dogs diagnosis did not match with my trusted vet back home after my initial follow up.Fast forward to Firehouse in 2012...Ever since that initial visit with Dr. Faught, I have been completely sold by how personable the staff is and with how knowledgeable Dr. Faught is. He is always willing to take time to answer my questions, be it the mundane Sentinel v. Trifexis to dietary questions. Since switching to a raw diet, Dr. Faught has been very supportive and helpful with everything, including walking me through blood panels and other tests to ensure that my dog is receiving all of the essentials in his diet. He also is extremely patient with me and helps me weigh pros and cons to each question or decision I have regarding my dog for immediate and long-term health. What I really appreciate is that no task is beneath Dr. Faught. Ive walked in for a nail trim and he did it himself. While I have (knock on wood) yet to have a major health scare or disaster, I know that Dr. Faught and his staff are more than capable for anything that may arise.Special shout out to Greg and Lisa. Lisa is my right hand when it comes to everything from scheduling and pick-ups, to sending my records to my boarder. Greg is one of the few people I trust to trim the nails. Ive never had my dog bleed with Greg at the wheel, and thats saying something (black toenails are TOUGH!).Thank you for everything you provide us.Andrew and Buggi
After 11 years, my Jack Russell, Dewey, had pretty bad looking teeth. One Saturday morning, Dewey wasnt acting right, his face was swollen and he was bleeding from his mouth a little. I rushed him to Firehouse and we picked up antibiotics and pain pills and scheduled an appt. for early the following week. In the end, Dewey needed 14 teeth pulled. I felt like the worst person on the planet. I dont remember any names but it really doesnt matter because everyone I spoke to was amazing. The detailed receipt with pictures of Deweys super clean teeth and xrays blew me away. Dewey rode home with his head on my shoulder and a couple of days later, I opened that bottle of wine that I was given for being a new customer. I will always trust my dogs to Firehouse! They could not have done anything better and the staff is very likeable!James Hemple
This facility is the cleanest vet hospital I have ever toured. The staff and veterinarians are friendly and truly care about the animals well being. They treat every patient like they are part of the family which is not seen often in modern medical practices. I will refer my friends for their services.

2022-06-13The team at Firehouse is always so accommodating and knowledgeable! My boy always enjoys his visits, which is a sure fire sign they take wonderful care of him even when I’m not around. Most dogs dread the vet visits but he drags me with enthusiasm straight through the front door because he loves everyone there. Thank you for always taking such great care of my big boy, Tremble!

2022-09-01We have been going to firehouse for 2 years now and could not be any happier with our experience. We recently had to have Sir Rooney’s teeth cleaned due to some plaque buildup, and fire house did an amazing job. we were naturally nervous about him going under anesthesia however, the staff took the time to explain to us it was a very minor operation and made us feel at ease. We knew Rooney was in good hands. And afterwards his teeth look brand new just in time for our wedding. 10/10 would recommend.

2022-04-07Firehouse Animal Center is the absolutely best veterinarian group in Austin Texas. I had taken my 2 dogs for the past 9 years all over different vets. But when I found FIREHOUSE ANIMAL CENTER, they were so caring, and always did and still do above and beyond to make sure our pets have the best medical care. Dr. Faught is absoluty an expert and truly cares for the pets.

2022-06-02Firehouse Westlake is absolutely amazing! The staff and Vets are incredibly nice, helpful and knowledgeable. They have treated our pets as if they were their own. I have been taking my French Bulldog there for several years after another vet told us that he was going to die because of a Mast Cell tumor, but Firehouse removed the tumor and he is still alive more than 10 years later. They were also incredibly helpful and compassionate as we navigated the end of our cats life making it as painless as possible while giving us the most amount of time with her as they could with a reasonable quality of life. We cant recommend them highly enough!

2022-08-15We love Firehouse! One of our pups is very anxious at the vet (even with the max dose of sedatives), and Firehouse has a calm room set up like a living room with a separate entrance to make our pup feel more at ease- and it works! The techs and vets make sure to go at our dogs pace to ensure it is a positive visit. The front desk staff is very helpful, the techs are great, and we love the vets weve seen (both Dr Saunders and Dr Nahous). They were both friendly, thorough, and incredibly helpful in answering all of our questions.

2021-08-07The veterinarians and vet techs here are so caring and wonderful!! They take the time to explain things to you and answer your questions, and I never feel like they are rushing me out the door.We have had various health issues with both of our rescues, but they are both now well on their way to good health and happiness!!

2021-07-25We really lucked out with Dr. Weeks. She is kind, thoughtful, thorough, and knowledgeable. My 12 year old kitty, Hendrix, has recently been diagnosed with asthma and Dr. Weeks has been nothing short of amazing in planning and providing his treatment. She is patient and genuinely empathetic to pets and owners alike! She even made sure we were aware of an alternative pharmacy to get the best deal on a very pricey prescription. I worked in vetmed a few years ago and I can say I am so impressed with our care. Thanks Dr. Weeks and of course a big thank you to all the amazing techs and wonderful client service team members that keep the clinic running smoothly. We’re so grateful. We appreciate you!

2022-08-08We loved discussing the health of our dog with Dr. Weeks. She was very attentive and noticed things about our dog that other vets have never noticed before. She gave us great care recommendations and answered all of our questions really thoroughly. We would recommend to anyone in need of a great vet!

2022-04-04We have had incredible experiences with all the doctors and staff we’ve seen at Firehouse. Especially Dr. Mozisek, who guided us through the painful last months with our dog last year, and has recently been amazing with helping us care for our new puppy. Best clinic in Austin, in my opinion!

2022-08-06The entire staff was lovely. They showed so much love and care to Mango. They answered all of my questions and made me feel confident in my dog’s well being and even got us on the schedule for her spay before her first cycle. Above and beyond care overall.
