Fitness Connection in other cities:
Nice employees but VERY rude management. I was trying to cancel a personal training and the manager got very rude and passive agressive on the phone. It felt as if he was trying to intimidate me into paying for something I changed my mind about. It was as if, if he didnt make a sale this week his job was on the line. If youre thinking about choosing a gym you might as well go to Planet Fitness.
Gym is really nice looking and Isabel answered all my questions and walked me through the mandates with covid 19. You must wear a facemask and gloves at all times. Had enough workout benches and they were social distanced 6ft apart. On a 5 day free pass and heard about a sale membership starting this weekend. Definitely leaning towards a membership.
Good gym, and enjoyed working out there. However, I left for military leave and wanted to come back. All I wanted was the 49 dollar sign up fee to be waived since Ive been a committed member and HAD to leave for a while. I was told no and if I wanted a good workout to join or go somewhere else. But the gym is nice and is up to standard. It does not seem like they care about you though.
I have been at the fitness Connection since it opened, and I workout 5 to 6 days a week and appreciate the upkeep and cleanliness. I like to telling people that I feel like its like going to the park. An amazing variety of quality equipment, both machines and free weights. Besides being a great deal, Ive met tons of people and made some real friends. My only wish is that soon the gym will return to 24 hour statues.
This gym is useless, and no one is listening to the customers. Ive been reading through the reviews and everyone is complaining about the schedule, but they are not doing anything about it. Whats the point of having a membership when you cant workout when you want. Closing at 8pm or 6pm ???? Are yall serious😡
I had brought my friend as a guest. He used to be a member at the one on Cedar Park but never have tried this one. I wanted to convince him to join but they rudely didn’t let him try it out because he had gone to the Cedar Park one. How is that fair? He has never been to this one. Now he definitely won’t join for them not letting him try it out for the day. Thanks for nothing.
Large local gym, equipment is maintained well. My partner loves the women only section. I think some locations have a cardio theater in that section too. Maybe only downside is the mens restroom could’ve had a extra stall or two, maybe a few more urinals- seems like one of either is always out of condition (I guess user error flushing stuff that shouldn’t be).
Great gym, the staff is super friendly, but the hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are awful. I like to get my workout in early in the morning (like many people) or after my kid’s bedtime (7pm- not all that late) but their weekend hours make it super difficult to do either. Unfortunately will probably switch to a gym with better hours so I can actually go as often as I’d like to. An excuse for extra covid cleaning doesn’t really make sense considering they’re able to be open M-Th for longer hours.
Management is beyond awful. I tried signing up but the manager would pay no attention to me and once i was able to grab his attention he would give me little to no information about memberships. Once i finally brought up how incredibly rude he was being all he managed to say was you getting a membership or not?
The sales office was very pleasant with lots of nice sample equipment. The staff was courteous and EXTREMELY low pressure (no pressure!). The offer is awesome. But... the place was supposed to open 1 Nov 2017 and today is 3 Nov 2017.You can see from the pics that the basic buildout is not even close to complete. And then the equipment has to be installed, etc.I remember asking the manager if my pre-membership would start billing in November even if the gym was not completed, and he gave the correct answer “of course not”.“But”, he said “I’ve helped open many new locations and we’ve never missed an opening”. Well, you guys blew this one big time!
This was marketed as a 24 hr gym but now closes early (ex 8pm friday). Fitness Connection, You are packed full again now that were back to normal and have refused to go to 24 hours anyways. I will be canceling my membership this month and will take my group with me. be 24 hours or lose to the competition.
I love it here but please extend the hours. The lack of childcare is already a bummer but to not be able to access the gym in the evenings and early morning hours is incredibly inconvenient. So many other gyms have their hours open back to normal. At least to 12am would really make a lot of your members happy.
New Review: Lots of red flags with their payment cancellation and refund system. Ongoing communication and requests to cancel the personal training and get refunded for overcharged payments are in vain. Just be aware...Old review: 5 stars>> Very good gym! Popular, with lots of equipment. Helpful staff and trainers. Highly recommend!
A good place to work out, but super unreliable. Theres literally always something. Theyve opened 25 minutes late, causing me to miss my work out Sunday morning. Theres no hot water in the showers, which I need to use every day because I go straight to work after exercising. Extremely disappointed because I pay for these services to make it more convenient to work out and I cant even currently do that. Also didnt send out any notice about the showers, so I was late to work last week because I had to drive all the way back home to shower.
I’m afraid to join another gym because this gym is so awful. I signed up with my roommates a few years ago bc it was only $10 and near our house. I only went a few times and after a year or so decided to cancel just bc I wasn’t using it. They made it nearly impossible. I called, emailed, and sent a letter in the mail to cancel. And then as I’ve seen other reviewers say they “couldn’t find my letter” and asked if I’d sent it certified. I’m not going to pay to certify a letter for y’all to cancel my membership, do y’all need my $10 that bad? After my second letter supposedly went missing, I just stopped my bank from allowing them to take payments and Fitness Connection sent me to collections, but honestly I’d rather that than dealing with their bs.My roommate still goes there and is trying to call because of extra charges taken out of his account from them. The gym location number just reroutes to the corporate number and he waited on the phone for over an hour and when it finally connected they hung up on him. Which also happened to me when I was trying to cancel. He has now had to call back and again has to wait in the 20+ person queue. Are you kidding me? The corporate is not even that big, I get people are calling y’all bc y’all are scamming them but hire more call center reps with the extra $10 y’all apparently needed so bad.All in all, I don’t recommend this gym.
Great gym but really disappointing hours, especially on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Would be 5 stars if they went back to 24/7. They say it is for the safety of their team members and guests (totally understandable if that’s the case), but masks are optional? Seems disingenuous
What terrible customer service and policy. First, it takes forever to get to a customer service agent. Theres consistently 30+ min waits. I froze my membership because I wasnt comfortable going in due to COVID. I was told that I would be notified ahead of time if I wanted to resume my membership. They went ahead and charged me without notifying me and then when I called to cancel my membership, they wanted to charge me an extra month of membership plus an annual fee. This gym will try to take all the money they can get from you. They will make up something and say theyll leave your remarks to their team but wont do anything about it. Looking at some of the reviews, this has been a consistent problem and seems like they really dont care since they respond with the same cookie-cutter response.
As I got activated from military, I went to pause my membership. Management told me it would be on pause for 90 days then afterwards it would reactivated and I would need to call in order to pause it again. No branch of military deploys for 90 days, so no matter what branch you’re in, you’ll have to call to pause it again or they’ll charge you.During deployment that’s the last thing I want to be thinking about. This goes to show they don’t support the military, which is fine, but I’ll also not come back to this establishment. This place clearly only thinks about the profit.
I moved from Cedar Park to Round Rock back in October and was thinking I was going to have to get rid of my membership because they delayed opening the location on I-35. I used to workout at the fitness connection in cedar park, it’s a good gym but lacked on some equipment. I’m glad I didn’t cancel my membership. The new location was well worth the wait. The only down side on this post would have to be about the parking lot. Most of the time people don’t stop so you can cross or are going over 15mph but that’s not the gyms fault. They have every piece of equipment you’d need to get a good workout in. The staff is always friendly and courteous. The gym is usually packed in the evenings but that’s normal around this time of year due to New Years resolution. It’s not so packed on Sundays. Of course equipment gets damaged from not being used properly but they usually have it fixed in a couple days and that’s a lot faster than I’ve seen at other gyms. The monthly charge is $10.83 and a annual fee of $40 once a year. I’ve been a member since 2016 and not once have I ever regretted it.
Maybe it’s time to consider opening the saunas up again and extending the hours. Literally the biggest perk for me coming here was the sauna and early early mornings. I enjoy the COVID protocols, and am glad measures are being taken. But when they are too strict for too long, it starts to look as if it’s a way to cut down their overhead, which is abusive. I pay for a membership, a membership for me meant early mornings before everyone else, and a dry sauna. I look forward to my automated feedback.
Amazing gym and staff! I want to start off saying I am surprised the pricing to how much this gym offers and no contract? I was debating between here and golds and no comparison this was an absolute must. Front desk was very friendly, unlike golds. Also Ashley and the manager josh who signed me up were very friendly and helped me make a better change for myself. It seems like the staff here actually care about your best interest with haggle free pricing and surprisingly very clean gym to how busy it was here. Only thing I can recommend is a smoothie bar for protein shakes would be nice they did not have
For the cost, it is excellent. Things are clean, the changing rooms are available if you go at the off times and the staff is generally friendly! You understand what you’re paying for what you sign up at Fitness Connection. If you’re serious about your fitness, it can get crowded around the benches and squat racks — as most places do — just be cognizant about your timing.
The current pandemic protocols make zero sense. I used to be able to go here late at night and have plenty of space. Now, it closes super early on weekends, under the guise of customer safety (as I’m sure will be the response to this.)Considering the fact that almost no one wears a mask here (which I’d argue the staff/company honestly can’t be blamed for) what is actually happening is about the furthest thing from safety I can think of. The truncated hours and people wanting to get their workouts in lead to the place getting absolutely packed. This is like the definition of a high transmission risk area, so how in the world is this asinine policy making us safer? It sounds like a sorry excuse. If the economic impact of the pandemic means you need to make some cuts and alterations to your business, fair enough, but don’t act like it’s for reasons that it obviously is not.
The gym itself is very good lots of equipment selection athough it get very busy at time but you get what you pay for. But lack of professionalism slaps you in the face like rain as soon as you walk outside. Its so glaringly obvious none of the associates care to help you when needed something. Also good luck cancelling your membership. I called and the automated machine said it was 35 minute wait and after 45 minutes of hold time the wait was 38 mins. The customer service is a joke.
This has been my gym since before the lockdown and just reinstated my membership again. The gym is clean, affordable and it has everything you could need to stay in shape. The COVID guidelines are reasonable and make me feel safe even though once in a while you catch people not wearing their mask properly or taking their gloves off. I get it - it’s hard to police this as a gym, so I’m not faulting the staff.I’m just happy I can work out at the gym again and incorporate some normalcy back into my life.
This place is amazing! It has all of staples, and tons of stations so you don’t have to wait. They also have all the obscure equipment I need for specific types of training. Very friendly staff and the story of how this gym got started is like, the epitome of the American dream. Very happy with the cleanliness, equipment and facilities are also in great shape - it looks brand new. Incredible gym, even without the fact that it’s an unbelievable value.
Gym has a ton of equipment to use. Ive only had to wait for a machine a few times. They offer classes, supplements, and even cups and stuff to mix your boost drinks with. You get a lot of gym for a pretty low monthly rate. Most of the staff there is friendly and helpful. They also smile a lot. As you leave they say goodbye and invite you back. Great gym. My only thing is they are not 24 hr and have a very limited amount of locations (2 in Austin area I believe). Other than that they are great!
I like this particular FC better than the other location in Austin. All I would suggest would be to extend the hours at LEAST to midnight. And Friday Saturday and Sunday have the regular hours (closing at 10:30). The staff are amazing. I am sure that they are tired of being asked if they can extend the hours, as they have no power over that. There are many sanitation stations and they have opened more equipment.
This gym has exceeded my expectations! $10 a month no hidden fees & the gym is HUGE! plenty of machines to go around, always CLEAN & staff is great! I normally check for peak times so I can avoid the gym rush (google can help) & get my workouts done quick! The private women’s studio is wonderful, plenty of machines in the movie studio & in the weight room area. The dry sauna is the largest in town, NO JOKE, it’s amazing & still very clean & well taken care of!
RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Management is incompetent. The facility is pretty great, unfortunately its run by people who could care less about you or your money. My membership was being billed to some one else. On two separate occasions we had them fix this. It was never fixed. Fast forward a year later, this person is still being billed for my membership. Just called to have it fixed and something be rectified for their mistake. Instead of helping in any way, they billed me for the current month so I could cancel the membership. BILLED ME FOR THEIR MISTAKE. AWESOME. They want your money, they could care less if you stay.
This review is going from 3 to 1 and Id like to make it a zero. Please be advised that if you plan to cancel your membership do it at least 60days before your annual fees are due or YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR IT. The way it was explained to me is the annual fee i paid when the gym opened in December 2017 was for 2017. So i paid an annual fee for a yr of non membership. And it just so happens that when i sent in a request to cancel services the 2018 dues were to be taken this month *Nov 2018. What a coincidence. Ill never join another gym. Lesson learned....****Good gym, love that they was a womens only area for shy girls. Wish the guest policy wasnt so stringent of theyd get 4 stars. Id give 5 stars if they had a better mix of classes
Ive been a member at this gym for around 3 months now and I can honestly say that its the best gym Ive been a member of. It rivals the multi-million dollar fitness center that I had when I was in college. This gym has every piece of equipment that I could ever ask for, and multiples of each from different manufacturers. I love the variety that they have here Ive never had to wait for a machine, bench, or rack since Ive been a member. A lot of the gyms Ive been to didnt have a whole lot of space for squats, deadlifts, and other free-weight leg exercises, but this location has all the room you could ask for. One of my only complaints is the clips they have for the bars. They only have the spring clips which are a pain to get on and off the bar. I really wish they would invest in a dozen or so lock-jaw clamps. The music is sometimes played a bit too loud, but its not really frequent enough to be a huge complaint. Other than that, everything is kept very clean, the staff is nice, and the facility itself is fantastic. For the price of a membership, you honestly cannot beat this place. I just hope that it doesnt become overcrowded.
By far the worst gym membership I have ever been involved in. The facility itself is not big enough for the amount of members they accept, the staff is rude and extremely unprofessional, and they charge you more than they let on when you initially sign up. My wife and I have basically spent a years worth of a gym membership in a matter of 3 months. Despite what they claim, customer satisfaction is not their concern whatsoever. They are only concerned with taking your money with their predatory business practices. Do yourself a favor and give your business to another gym.
Fitness Connection (Tech Ridge) is one of the newest health clubs here in town. This health facility may feel like a big box gym but it offers friendly competitive prices in the market. This gym has new equipment with a friendly staff environment that will help you on any inquires you may have about your account or on the club and there services! This fitness center is now 24-7 with varying hours for the holidays, it also offers a kids club for the little ones to play while you get a good pump in! Some of the amenities include a sauna, basketball court, a cycling studio, and a small equipped weight room section targeted for women. So far, I have had no complaints on the facility as it is clean and the weight room equipment is well maintained!
I signed up online before gym was open, around September. I got charged for the months that they weren’t open, because I checked the box “access all locations”. I told the manager I never went to any other location, and if they can waive my account since I got falsely charged. She ends up saying it’s my fault for signing up for all the locations.First of all, I never clicked anything that said “all locations”. The website automatically puts it at that, and it’s probably a tiny box, hidden somewhere to click “only this location”. I didn’t see and didn’t know, and I ended up getting charged $30 total because of this (3 months). The manager couldn’t waive any months for me and just said it’s my fault. This gym is will not whatsoever refund or waive you anything. The manager will not work with you, and will just say everything is YOUR fault. No wonder this corporation has low reviews everywhere.I don’t recommend signing up for this gym. Sure it’s cheap, only $10 a month, but once they get your money, there’s no way of getting it back. The manager herself did not work with me, and just said it’s my fault the whole time. I will be going to a new gym, and not this trash shady scamming gym.
Of the gyms I’ve been a member of (golds’s, planet fitness), fitness connection tech ridge, is by far the cleanest, most organized gym. The employees were so friendly to me and extremely helpful with assisting me. On top of that, the dry sauna is huge!! I’m proud to be a new employee of this location, and am excited to assist in changing others’ lives in a healthy way!
Place is always way too packed for the amount of equipment they own. On top of that I was charged for 3 months after cancelling my membership, and when I called their customer service, I was told that theres nothing they can do would not recommend. Just go to goldsOh and on top of everything, when you want to cancel they charge you an additional month anyways. This place doesnt care about fitness, just money.
The gym itself is great!! Lots of awesome equipment!Cons:Personnel who are not health professionals take your temperature weather you consent or not. Also, they make you wear a mask throughout your workout which makes it nearly impossible to breathe. They also make you wear gloves, which get very sweaty. All these policies violate FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS. One should not be denied access to facilities simply by choosing not to comply to these illegal procedures. One time one of the clerks YELLED at me with this authoritarian voice because I didnt get close enough for her to take my temperature .Those temperature devices can mess up your pituitary gland.I hope they realize they are breaking federal CIVIL rights laws.
Signed up me and my brother and told my family members and some friends to sign up too. Its been 3 months of charges and I have yet to lift a single dunbell. Starting to regret cancelling my membership at 24 hour fitness. Gym looks nice but Im not gonna stay fit looking at a nice gym. Was told I wouldnt be charged until they opened, but their withdrawals have been random and of varying amounts. Im considering cancelling my membership, but then I literally would have paid for nothing. Beyond frustrated.
Clean Gym, decent staff. Card number stolen called to update account. Made to pay 3 months of late fees which were 4 months worth of membership. Customer Service stated it is not their policy to waive any late fees and it says in the fine print on your contract. I signed contract almost 2 years ago. This broke the camels back. Cancelling my whole families membership, shopping for new gym that will be very transparent with their customers and offer to work with them regarding late fees.UPDATED REVIEW: January 23rd Fitness Connection manager responded to this review and I reached out via email on January 23rd as they requested and no response...It is now February 12th. 😑
I signed up for a membership on 6/27/18 and was billed a prorated charge of $3.12. My first full payment was billed on 7/2 for $23.82 and since then I have seen several charges that were not authorized on my account including another charge of $43.30. I called the billing department and they said that the charge is for an annual fee. When I signed up for this membership, the reason I signed up was there was no startup fee and there was nothing mentioned about an annual fee. I dont recommend anyone using this gym or trusting this company. Youre better off using a home gym.
I call often trying to cancel my services, and kerp being told to stop by to cancel which I did stop by then was told I would have to send on a request to cancel my services. I never have used them, and every month faithfully money comes out of my account. Today $84 was taken out and I call and jo response back. I am very dissatisfied been loyal and I am disappointed in the kind of service provided. Been with them for over 3-4 years, and they make it so hard to cancel memberships when it should not be. All I want to do is cancel my membership. Help...
The gym itself is great. Its big with lots of equipment, a sauna, a basketball court, a room for group classes and more. I have to rate it 3 stars because its too crowded to enjoy. If you go and cant find parking, good luck actually finding equipment available if you decide to even go in anymore. I usually go to gyms pretty late so I can have a fairly empty gym to myself but not here. I went around 9 or 10 and it was still PACKED. I wanted to hit the punching bag and they had the area closed off for some kind of class or something. Its not the gyms fault and being busy is a good problem to have as a company but I will eventually cancel my membership since I cant enjoy Fitness Connection and Im already going to another gym thats not as crowded. My apartment also has a small gym. Id rather go to those than deal with the pack of idiots at this gym who take way too long on the equipment at a crowded gym while looking at their phones.
Went in being told I was given a 7 day free trial, ended up that was false and was then rudely treated by staff. One person on staff swindled me into buying a membership telling me I could cancel or freeze it at anytime. He told me he was happy to see me getting serious about my health but then when I refused to spend $50+ on pre supplements and protein powder he turned around and insulted me saying I was not serious about my health. Customer service was awful and they do not care about the individual, rather just there wallets. What they offer is great but the customer service and rude treatment made me want to leave immediately and in the parking lot I filed to cancel my membership. A horrible experience and a waste of one hour.
I think that place itself is awesome except when it’s very crowded. My issue with that place is that the staff are very rude. I had a friend from Miami came in and I was trying to bring him in to workout with me, there was a guy that kind of like Asian. He was very disrespectful. I tried to used the VIP guest card and he was like “no you can’t even use that”. I would be okay if he explained that nicely, but he chose to be rude. My friend was very embarrassed and I was too. They do terrible business. I am gonna have everyone of my friend cancel their membership with them. There are many other better gyms out there. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to sign up for it. They don’t care about their clients, just the money. Something like this requires people with social skills. Not just anyone.
BEWARE OF THE SCAM! This place is horrible. I signed up in the summer month of June, only reason I signed up is my best friend had got a gym membership here. I was like cool $10 a month and $10 initial fee sure why not! I can always cancel when ever I want. I was still and am still paying for 24 hour fitness. I finally told my best friend I can not go to the gym here, it is to packed and way to annoying. I have been trying to cancel my membership but of course it is impossible. So beware you can only cancel your gym membership by sending a letter by mail stating why you want to cancel etc. Will I have attempted twice to cancel and mailed twice a letter. Yet of course they still take out the money. It is a total scam. Every time I call they place me on hold and then hang up. They have the WORST customer service. They never return my calls, I am going to contact my bank and see what route I can take. I have not been to this gym in over 2 months. RUN AWAY! Stick to a gym where they treat you greatly and would let you cancel. This place is a joke.
Okay where do I start! When I realized that they had $10 every month and had more equipment more than planet fitness. You know I had to check it out and gosh I love it. The thing is though their enrollment fee is off the chain. They have the one you pay $22 every month and a $49 enrollment fee. And the other option is the $129 enrollment fee, double check on that-it maybe more, and you pay $10 a month. The wonderful thing is that they have sales going on. Like for me, when I signed up, I pay 75 enrollment fee for the $10 a month. Even though it is packed at certain times-5 to 8pm, they have a lot of cool equipment. They also offer trainers and day care! What the what! You gotta check it out. I dont have pictures but you can check the website!
WATCH YOUR BANK ACCOUNT!I canceled my membership because they opened this location much later than the day the said it would be open. No big deal, I found another gym and figured I lost $10 and the annual fee.I realized my final charge was more than what I should be paying for the remaining $10 for this month.I called their customer service and asked about the charge. I was told that my bank had rejected their charge and the gym had added on extra late fees and rejection of payment charges. I confirmed that the card number I gave them was correct. It was.I asked why they were responsible for not working this out with the bank, since I had given them the correct information. They said they werent authorized to contact the bank.I asked if they had tried to contact me regarding the bank rejecting my charge and they said they had nothing on file. They said that I would have had to authorize them to reach out to me.I asked why Im being charged for something I didnt know about and they made no effort to correct. They said that per my contract it was my duty to make sure the charges came out successfully each month.Great business practice!!! Have your customers have to keep a spreadsheet each month to make sure you do your job of taking the money theyre trying to give you.Oh well, at least Ill be done with shady gym chain soon.
One of the Worst gyms in Austin they got me to sign up and 3 months later the doors had not open on location. When went to inquire about my membership they said I had none. It was till a year later that they called cuz of none payment my card had been cancelled it was at that point I found out they had charged me all year and never notified me of membership. Then they wanted another worth of payments to cancel. Then it takes an act of Congress to cancel. Go to Golds or Old School Hyde Park Gym to of the best Ive been to and enjoyed.
BUYER BEWARE. Fitness Connection has HORRIBLE customer service. I was only needing a gym membership for the summer so I went in to talk with Fitness Connection about the possibility of what that would look like. She told me that the day I had come in so happened to be the last day of the promotion of waiving the enrollment fee. They also told me they could waive the annual fee since I would only be needing the membership for 2 months. I thought this was great but wanted to make sure so I asked multiple times to make sure I had understood her correctly. I actually wrote down on a piece of paper everything I was told I would have to pay within my time with the gym and she confirmed that it was correct. With that, I signed up. A month passes - and surprise, surprise I get hit with the $40 annual fee. I also found out that the no enrollment fee promotion had went on for another month. I tried talking with the manager to speak my case but he was never in when I went to the gym. I asked for an email address or phone number and the staff refused to give it to me. Fitness Connections staff and process is very, very frustrating so take that into consideration before applying. Also, NOTE: (because the staff does not make you aware of this when signing up) to cancel your membership, you have to send the corporate office a letter. You cannot cancel online or by a simple call. Conclusion: I would hope that the staff was just unaware and misinformed me when I was signing up but after reading other reviews, it does not seem to be the case. The gym is good but not worth having to deal with their customer service/sales people and having the feeling like you got swindled into signing up.
I really like going to fitness connection it’s a very nice atmosphere. the people are very welcoming helpful. most of all there is a manager named Barry who goes beyond his duty’s making sure everything and everyone is good. I remember one time when I was thinking about supplements and Barry had already had some this man gave some of his own supplements so I could try them now that’s a type of place I know anyone would enjoy thanks fitness connection!!!!!!
Honestly great amenities, free weights and weight machines for the price ($10 per month). Most of the people that go there have terrible gym etiquette, but thats not the establishments fault. I wish they would find a way to enforce common gym etiquette such as , not hogging all the weights, not putting weight racks back ,etc etc etc...
I enjoy the gym and all it’s amenities. I left 24hr fitness to come here and it’s great. My only issue is in the bathroom/locker room. In section of the locker room where the stalls and urinals are located, there is no way you can open the door sanitarily. People go straight from the stalls and urinals to the door. The door doesn’t have a foot kick, and there’s no sanitizer in that area. I would prefer not to touch the door handle that the guy behind me touched after holding his junk and wiping his butt. Otherwise I’d give a 5.
Super cheap - $10 a month. Open 24/7. Plenty of parking. Place to drop your kids off (kids area is huge and perfect for playing). Dedicated womens-only area. Trainers are better than lifetimes (on average). 2 shortened basketball courts with really good wood floors that arent slippery. And my personal favorite thing: TONS OF PLATFORMS AND SQUAT RACKS for all of us lifetime power and Olympic lifters. Bumper plates! Good, sturdy bars that have solid, all-purpose knurling.I personally dropped golds gym for this spot because of the ability to do Olympic lifts without having to be dainty with the weights on the platforms. But this gym has the old school lifting culture you see in movies like Pumping Iron. Everyone is focused on their lifting, but there are plenty of us that are willing to help with things like form and spotting.
HORRIBLE GYM!!!!!! Do not go here.1. Extremely rude gym staff.2. Very crowded3. When I signed up apparently they inputted my card number wrong for autopay and the payments were not going through. Since I wasn’t paying the payments on time of $10, they racked on a $20 late fee for both my husband and I. So this turned into $60 a month to go to a HORRIBLE gym that I didn’t even like! I was NOT contacted, when I went into the gym it took them MONTHS of me attending badging in for them to let me know that there was a problem with my account. Which, first of all was THEIR PROBLEM for entering my information in wrong in the system. So then my late payments when to COLLECTIONS. Since this was not my fault I have tried multiple times to get a refund of the late fees with no success.I’m giving up, canceling my account, but I will tell EVERYONE i know to not go to this gym.Trust me, do not attend a gym with no organization, you will be the one who gets hurt.
Invited 3 friends to this gym after I joined. 1 joined and 2 were talking about joining. We all came to play basketball and all were wearing our masks. Shortly after we arrived the staff came and began aggressively yelling at everyone and then kicked everyone out because apparently some guys there weren’t being compliant with masks. I’ve been in management for years. Very poor handling of this.
The only thing I don’t like about this gym compared to the one on Lake Creek is the lay out. I feel like their lay out is very unorganized, but maybe that’s because of how much smaller the place is compared to the other one. However, I like how there’s the monkey bar equipment there so I can practice my grip strength. The best thing about this place are the workers. They are very welcoming.
The gym itself is fine but canceling my membership here was an absolute nightmare. The WORST customer service I have ever received. I was lied to and then the manager was coincidentally at lunch every time I asked to speak to them. The cancellation process is super outdated and completely uncalled for. Stay away from this gym! The price may be tempting but they’ll get you in the end.
Who cares? Such an entitled and needy culture. We get awesome workout machines, cool programs and all for $10 a month! Im very thankful for this gym much better than the wobbly, half time functioning treadmill at my apartment and the sad excuse for a weight machine that is also broken. Thank you Fitness Connection...Tough its true they do need to work on being straight and honest about their plans with customers. Opening almost two months after they said theyd open was definitely not cool... and yes they rushed people into the $10 deal while it lasted longer than they said..But hey, more customers!Just Dont cheat your customers on their money and be open when you say you will, FC, and all should be good!
When is manager going to replace the water filter by the water fountain? It has been out of operation since November 2019 and it is now January 31, 2020. How many more months to get a water filter? The line for the water is so long and the water fountain drips slow. They finally hire more housekeeping to clean the bathroom because it was nasty. The positive thing about this gym is the prices and classes.
It is terrible service that they provide, They rob you in your own face they charge an annual membership to you half of year like by April and you register for example on February 28 You enjoy the membership is the month of March and already in April you are Charging all year does not give you any information about this And the method of canceling the subscription is very cumbersome. It does with the whole idea that the sea becomes difficult and that you follow the conditions of the gym are the best personal and personal conditions. great help provides a lousy service and customer service of Fitness connection the worst call to ask if a payment has been made And tells me yes and when I arrive at the gym I find that the payment has not yet been made it is not about agreement and my card had already been money for someone else. The truth is a theme in this gym an account because with the equipment ... one last time be thieves
Rudely told to put on my gloves as I was preparing to get on the machine, and putting on my gloves was what I was about to do anyway. With this said, I believe you should reconsider your safety policiesAccording to the CDC (copied straight from the website): Wearing gloves outside of these instances (for example, when using a shopping cart or using an ATM) will not necessarily protect you from getting COVID-19 and may still lead to the spread of germs. The best way to protect yourself from germs when running errands and after going out is to regularly wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.Wearing gloves should be option as their are very uncomfortable to wear and workout was they get drenched in sweat. Not all staff members are rude, but this one individual has been rude several times. I understand safety policies but policing people because they took their mask off for a quick breather, while being more than 6 ft apart and, to top it off, rudely demanding them to put it on is unprofessional. I understand safety, we are all in this together BUT please inform yourself well before being so harsh about it.
I have to agree worth the couple other reviews in that saving 5 stars for 24 hrs. The $10 membership only gets you this particular location. So with my schedule, i without at 330-4 in the mornings. Nights are really to busy for me. So, Ive really only been a coupe times since opening. So trying to be optimistic before cancelling that 24 hrs is coming soon.Positives are definitely the friendly staff, new huge facilities, and quality equipment.
I joined the gym because there was suppose to be 24 hr access at both locations and they had the amemnities I wanted. The other location is not 24hr and they did not have a hot tub or steam rub as the sales associate described. To top it all off, I was charged an extra month even though I canceled 30 days prior to th date. Sales associates and front desk people have been rude at both locations. This place has just been terrible to deal with all around. They have lied and did whatever to take every cent from me and did not provide what they said they had. My new gym is leaps and bounds better and I bet you can find a better gym in this area.I will he reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau and make sure I tell everyone I know of just how horrible this place is.
If this can be a negative 1000- i would do so! Mind me, i called signed up over the phone i wasnt charged anything so i never requested a refund or not sure if they ever did try to charge me because my wallet was stolen HA!, i called the same day to cancel they OK It to not worry i was NEVER told i was supposed to send a letter to cancel my membership that i NEVER used explained why i never went back because i thought i was all taken care of, turns out now i have a 230$ and some change bill in collections because someone in this facility did not do there part is making me aware of the proceedings i was supposed to have done i also received a call 2 times to be asked when i was going to go in to work out, told them all the same thing that i cancelled my membership and had someone text me to plan a work out which i repeated my self again that i did not have a membership with this gym, i called to ask what i could do all i got is someone trying to wipe there hands off because i was never informed of what i was supposed to do! very RUDE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE , how am i supposed to have this amount in collections because someone did not do there job in informing me! After this i would never consider joining this gym. I am a single mother with no help how am i supposed to just hand out that money i need for my baby?! if i can have corporate with this, i need this solved NOW before this gets worse i have enough stuff to have paid off to have this unnecessary load trowed at me when it is NOT MY FAULT.
They gave me a tour of this place and its AMAZING and its only $10 per month so how can you leave a bad review if its not even open yet? Dont blame the GYM for not opening in November, blame the city inspectors. Come on now, the price, location, amenities and equipment are unbeatable and the kids club is so cool. Planet and Golds gym dont have all that for $10. The BEST things are always worth waiting for....Im excited! Cant wait for you guys to open!
Phenomenal features for a fantastic price! However I have since moved out of state without a FC in the area and cancelling is not an easy process. Like it’s been two years and I’m making it a New Years resolution to do it. They have made it accessible online, which when I initially moved they told me I needed to write a letter to their corporate office.Facility is great but their business processes definitely need some tweaking.
Requiring you send a certified letter in the mail to cancel your policy is just shady business practice! The equipment itself is pretty nice. Thats about all the good points. The bad is their sales and cancel policy. The people that go there and equipment dont help.Other gym members will come up and just stand in front of you and stare at you for 5 minutes if you are using the equipment they want. Ive worked out at a lot of gyms and never been in one with so many lunkheads. Several times I have seen equipment break, handles come off or other issues. They seem to fix pretty quick, but there is always something broken. The sales is very pushy, a bunch of bs about this special is only good for today and we have to sign you up right now plus we need the names of 5 friends we can harass to join. The biggest disappointment is the cancel policy. Nothing anywhere on their site to find the details. You have to go into the location to get the details and literally mail them a certified letter and wait 30 days after that to cancel. I dont mind a 30 day policy, but seriously, requiring a mailed letter is just shady business practice.Edit -Thanks for responding, I already clearly said I dont mind the 30 days notice. Requiring a certified letter is shady practice to make it difficult to stop. This is why the club pushes for a checking withdrawal instead of card, so you cant block it.How can I sign up or send you money? In club, over phone, by website - No Problem, its easy. How can I cancel? In club, over phone, by website NOPE!!!Why is it easy for you to process taking money or signing up by multiple easy methods, but make it extremely difficult to end membership?
Terrible experience trying to cancel membership (leaving because too crowded, not the best location for me and wanting a different gym experience overall). They would only provide a sketchy address to a Jonas Fitness to physically mail a letter to cancel. And I wont get any notice of cancellation unless I turn in a tracking number for the letter I send. When I asked to speak to a manager, they told me she was out for lunch from 2:30 to 3:30 and I should call back later but she may not be able to talk. Really sketchy process and the lady at Jonas Fitness is very rude also. Terrible customer service and typical attempt to keep non-users in a membership they dont want to pay for.
The worst gym I’ve ever been to. After you get past all the new shinny equipment you’ll notice all the meat heads throwing the free weights around and slamming weight stacks and bars. One douchestroid slammed a cable stack so hard it made my ears ring! Also it’s so busy you have a hard time finding a dumbbell on the rack that’s less then 60lbs, either their laying all around the place or the Bro-tein next to you will have 4 pairs scattered around “his” bench. (Yes he’s “useing” them all)I went to this gym as a visitor with my friend to check it out. I have been a member at 24hour fitness for 10 years and I’ll gladly pay slightly more for a better gym. I say slightly because after the monthly charge, Initiation fee, late fees, and the annual fees. you’ll end up paying a lot more then you think. Then good luck trying to quit without more charges. I will never become a member here! Rude and dishonest staff, sneaky contract details and extra fees. Just an overall terrible gym experience. Beware what your getting into! There are way better gyms in the area.
5 stars to this glorious house of gains, a place where life and death are meaningless and pain is God. Im seeing a lot of 1-3 star reviews from some frail and pail, no callous having punies. These punies are complaining they arent showered in compliments and hugs from the front desk when they walk in.Well Ive got words for you, the glorious house of gains, aint no social situation, its a one man freak show, where its you vs you and the iron is your sword. So man up or leave the space for the rest of us trying to work, thats why they dont care if you cancel, because its called Fitness Connection, not Fitness Coercion.
Ive gone 3-4 times a week for the last year and change. I wish there were more varied classes, but I really like the ones I attend (Shout outs to Stephanie, Summer, and Nikki) and there are tons of options on the gym floor for cardio, free weights, and machines. Each locker room has a sauna and dressing rooms as well as a restroom and plenty of lockers. Im also very satisfied with the childcare; Brenda and Hunter in particular are wonderful with the kids and do a great job looking after them.
It makes me really sad to see all these bad reviews from unhappy people who haven’t even used the gym yet! I have been a fitness connection member for almost 3 years at 4 different locations and i could not be happier! I’m so excited that this gym is finally open bc it’s much closer for us! I understand the frustrations, but as an employee for a small remodeling company i also understand that permitting can be the biggest pain in the butt. It’s only the city of Austin... if this gym opened in Pflugerville or Round Rock or ANYWHERE except Austin, they wouldn’t have this annoying problem. Me and my husband have brought so many of our friends here and we will continue to do so. The group fitness classes are the best ever, there’s a dry sauna AND childcare all for $10/mo! How can it get any better than that?! Not to mention every machine you can imagine! I have worked out at 24hr, anytime fitness, planet fitness, and lifetime... nothing beats fitness connection. I will be a lifetime customer
Once again, fitness connection pulled a fast one over me and everyone who has an account with them. I am moving out of state where there are no fitness connections so naturally i have to cancel my account there. You have to literally send a letter in the mail and make sure its certified on top of that stating you wish to cancel. Cant do it in person, email, or phone. You have to physically send a letter in the mail. What kind of scam is that? The more inconvenient they make it the less likely you are to cancel? Funny how absolutely easy it was to sign up right there on the spot but to get out of it? Not easy at all. Go anywhere else but this place to work out. Youd be better off running outside in the cold than to deal with these scam artists.Edit: so I convinced my wife to give this gym a shot. We both work early and have kids so we have to go early and at separate times. She showed up at 5 am today and sat in the parking lot til 530 along with everyone else. They never opened. All the lights and TVs were on but they never opened the doors. Were on a tight schedule. The least you could do is open when you say you will. Not to mention when I signed up all the way back in January or so, they said they would be a 24 hours gym in a few months. Its been over 6 months.I changed this from a 5 to a 1. When I signed up, I agreed to pay 22 a month to be able to split the annual fee in 2 instead of paying up front. I assumed they would drop my fee back down to 10 a month after so many months. They didnt. Ive been going for 6 months now just to find out I CAN drop down to 10 a month but only if I request it and if I pay an ADDITIONAL fee. So, to stop paying literally double the price for which they promote, I have to give them more money to save money. Not to mention, I had to pay another annual fee after being a member for only 3 months. What kind of set up is that? I will continue to go because it is a good gym overall but the money handling is one of the most ridiculous things Ive ever seen.
I do like this gym. Lots of good things ...more than bad But...the womens dressing rooms smell funky. and the theater always has an issue when i am in there and if it is working they play the same stuff over and over. This location is always really busy. There needs to be more locations in this area.
I have family and friends that have a membership here, so at some point I considered switching from the gym I currently attend. But I am so thankful I didnt! Twice some of my friends have mentioned how they have shown up to the gym early in the morning, only to find out it has not opened at the time that its suppose to (5 a.m.).Not sure about others...but this would frustrate me.
Was a great experience until I was late on a payment after being a loyal member for a year. My bank account got hacked. I got a new debit card and forgot to call the gym to update. Bill was due on the first and on the 8th I was charged 3 times my membership for being late. Called to speak with manager because no one contacted me to let me know but she started arguing with me and sad they left a voice mail. Long story short, I cancelled my membership and was told I would have to do it by mail. What??? Is this 1850. Lol. They charged me another triple fee to follow because cancelation takes over 30 days to complete. I was scepctical about previews bad reviews on this gym but now I understand. What do you expect for $10 a month!?
Me and my family have had a membership here we had for maybe almost a year at that. We wanted to cancel because it wasnt conveniently close by and did not get to go very often because of that. My mom went to the gym and asked how we go about cancelling she was told that you cannot do it verbally she was given a little red card with an address to corporate and was told she needed to write a letter to cancel and we did that 3 months ago. Now they are still taking out of my account and have cost me to go negative in my account two times now and when I called to speak someone about it they told me oh no you can go online and cancel it when going online was NOT an option given to us at the time. they had no idea where my letter went and how it was not received. I called today because I noticed they yet AGAIN took out $23 from my account and caused me to go negative in my account and I was told by Barry the manager that I have a 30 day period yeah I an fully aware of that when I cancelled 3 months ago!!! $130 later with nsf fees to be told I cannot get a refund due to the LACK of communication and training knowledge the employees that have. Told me I can still use the gym for 30 days I dont want to use the gym I want my money back I dont see any professionalism here at this business at all and hope moving forward this is told to new members so they dont waste their money like I did.
Very rude and had an unpleasant visit to this location by two women with my girlfriend. We felt singled out for taking off our gloves for a couple seconds and also lowering our mask to drink water and take a breather at the end of our set. We understood the rules but they were being really annoying only coming to us and we always spotted them when they was near so we knew they was only coming to bother us. Even tho they said they was telling everyone around which wasnt true because after they left they went straight to the front desk. Worst workout experience we had in this location!!!We dont need someone breathing down our knecks during every set its really annoying
Love the gym itself, extremely crowded Mon-Thur even at 10 p.m. Fridays and wknds are always empty. Seems like the only thing holding this gym from 5 stars is their cancellation policies. Get it together fitness connection, its about to be 2019 it shouldnt be that complicated.
💪♥♥ fitness classes every day except Sunday ♥♥ 💪 large variety/ quantity of equipment 💪 clean, welcoming gym. its always spotless whenever I go including the locker room/shower 💪 love the cages you can do a variety of exercises/lifts on 💪 ♥♥♥ 24 hours open 💪 quality gym at an awesome price
Fine facility, but unprofessional customer service.I doubled checked the small group training (UBF) policy with one of the staff members about two months ago. He told me I could cancel the group training program from the Fitness Connection website. Next day, I got an email saying my membership was scheduled to be canceled with the group training program.I talked to the General Manager, another staff member, and the UBF coach about this issue. They told me I had to contact the Fitness Connection Membership Service for membership reinstatement. So I did. Then, I got an email from the operator without apologies and confirmation of reinstatement. It just told me I should contact the UBF for cancellation. After I successfully canceled the UBF program over the phone, I found out my membership got terminated this month. I spoke to the same guy, who told me I could cancel the small group training from the website, to discuss the termination. Without an apology for his mistake, he told me I did the wrong way to cancel the program. When I listened to his explanation, he seemed irritated as I was wasting his time. He only apologized he couldnt override the termination, and I had to speak with the general manager or customer support for the issue. At this point, I decided to let it be. I just didnt feel comfortable going back to this fitness center. To those who are looking for fitness center, avoid this place if customer service is your priority.Update: I shouldnt hope that they would solve this issue. Its been two weeks since I wrote this review, and I didnt get any responses. I guess they only care about the five-stars reviews.
I’ve had multiple problems with these people.1. When i was signed up, i decided to bring a friend with me and gave him one of my VIP Guest passes. They started asking him questions and all. He’s from Pflugerville and not Austin, they declined the pass and said he couldn’t use it because he wasn’t from the city? That’s ridiculous. Then they started telling my friend if he wanted to use the pass, he had to sign up and pay a fee? At that point we just left.2. My mother called to cancel her membership. It took like 2 weeks to cancel cause we had to fight to cancel our damn membership. The next time i came, they said MY membership wasn’t valid anymore? Note that i was under my mom’s name since i was under 18 at the time so i had my own membership as well. I called and they told me that they’ve accidentally canceled my membership. I asked if they can reopen it since it was their mistake and they said they couldn’t and that i had to pay everything all over again. What a damn rip off. Terrible gym, terrible service.
Nice equipment but the sales people are very, very dishonest and pushy. Theyre worse than a sleazy car salesman. They insisted and insisted and were very rude. The chubby hispanic girl that was incredibly persistent on me getting a membership right that second became visibly mad and made a smacking sound with her lips when I told her I was not signing up that day. And ironically, had it not been for their sleazy sales tactics and godawful customer service I would have signed up. Everything was great about the gym, except for the sleazy sales team shoving their own personal agenda to make commission down your throat refusing to not take no for an answer. Anyone with half a brain can feel the bad vibes they reek of. And after reading some of the other reviews I can see I wasnt wrong. Please dont let yourself be intimidated by their aggressive sales tactics. And dont fall for the misleading info they offer you. Tread lightly. Youve been warned. Goodluck
Nice equipment, very clean. I like the woman’s area. They have a lot of equipment and a theatre in the stair stepper/treadmill area. They also have a sauna in the woman’s locker area which is nice. Horrible and pain in the butt cancellation policy. You have to write a letter and certify it and send it to Webster tx to cancel. Very inconvenient!
Although the gym its self is amazing, the only down fall for Fitness Connections is th kids club. There at the kids club their priority is the safety of the kids but I dont understand how the safety of the kids is their priority...... Every time I go to leave my kids at the club there are about 3 or 4 ladies working that club, but when I go to check on my kids I see 3 of the ladies (playing around, doing there hair with their backs towards the kids, on their phones or playing with the guys at the check in counter for the gym) and you have 1 or 2 ladies caring for about 15 or more kids. So thats their priority for the safety of the kids. Like I said the gym its self would be great but these ladies make the gym bad by putting their priority before the kids safety.....
Always clean great childcare center. Cheap prices:) only downside was when I signed up, was told I could visit the other location on 183 with no problem. Went for about a year to BOTH locations no problem until maybe around February of this year.. told I needed to pay $100 to have access to that location. Misleading and never was told prior about the change.
UPDATEGenuinely shocked at what a 360 im doing on this company but the corporate customer service reps are beyond miserable people and have no interest in helping the customer resolve an error when it is the companies fault the error occured in the first place, they will raise there voice and try to make your feel stupid. The manager originally got me to join is no longer with the company (big shock there) and the only acceptable facility in the tech ridge location is falling in disrepair, i cant wait to be done with this company. Its very rare that I’m impressed with not only the quality and value of a particular product or service or with the level of customer service provided to me.Even rarer would I take the time to reach out to a company to give feedback on my experience with said company and staff.Forgive the length of this email but I believe its necessary to give as comprehensive and honest a review as I can based on my personal experience.Upon entering your facility I was in the midst of comparing and contrasting different gyms based on my particular wants and needs and walked in off the street to get a feel for this particular company of which I’ve never heard of being new to the area. Not only is this one of the most hygienic and complete gyms ive ever wandered into but the sheer comprehension Fitness Connection provides is nothing short of fantastic.Brand new equipment, clean showers, dedicated fitting rooms, dry sauna and even a full basketball court just to name a few. Now, we all know that regardless of how clean or beautiful, or how many services a gym provides that is more or less irrelevant if you do not enjoy walking through the door and engaging with negative people every time you intend to exercise. This is where John Grubbs comes in the general manager of this particular facility. Im unsure if your actively looking for people like John (why wouldn’t you be) but he has a passion and a genuine character that oozes out of him every time he speaks. For the first 5-10 minutes we didn’t even talk about what I want or why I was there so much as he was genuinely interested in where I was coming from and what brings me into town and who I am.This immediately set a precedent that would become a hallmark of my entire experience inside his gym today (roughly 30-40 minutes), honesty and transparency are two words I cant use enough.Despite the fact the facility has everything I could possibly need, its clean, price point etc etc its johns personal touch and transparency that ultimately sold me.In the event Fitness connection did not have everything I wanted or it didn’t have the best price point I can honesty tell you I would choose this gym over the multitude of others just based on Johns level of customer service alone. Its an approach like this that not only provides excellent member retention but will ultimately lead to more sign ups just based on word of mouth and will foster a much more effective and happy workplace for the members and the staff alike.I work for Blendtec as a corporate sales trainer via Costco so if there is one thing I know is value and customer service. John is stellar at what he does and I truly look forward to coming in for my workouts or a pleasant chat, I even saw him open the door for another member who was 10-15 full steps from the front entrance. I wish your company nothing but success if this is the type of leader your actively looking to bring on board. Great jobSincerely,Ben Johnson
Quite a few squat racks and benches but not enough weights for those racks and benches. Definitely not enough lower weight dumbbells which is a problem at all of the locations. The people here dont have much courtesy. They just leave weights all around the gym so you have to search for them or use something different. Ive never seen staff putting weights back where they belong.
I signed up before the place was built. I initially liked it. I was sadly sold on the personal training through UBF. I loved my first two trainers and felt it was worth the money. I did a boot camp as part of a FITNESS COMPETITION ( this was a huge massive scam ) But thats UBFs fault and not Fitness Connections right? Well.. Since they are there and the place totally pushes their services, I say they have some responsibility. In Jan, I was having knee and joint issues but I was talked in to more classes ( because I can be stupid) because the price was right. Then I got hit with my Annual Fee - which was more than Id originally been told but Id been made aware of by a sign on the desk so I got that hit with open eyes. Unfortunately for me. I became medically unable to continue working out there. I took my Doctors note in to try to get a HOLD on the charges, but no ... it wasnt good enough, the date was wrong, the format was wrong.. 2 x. I finally got it right and took it in to both UBF and FC. 3 months later and Im Still getting charged. UBF just mystery charged me and FC continues to charge. Ill be there in person one more time to attempt to cancel since they have no aqua therapy. After that its a attorney. So - AVOID.. Its almost impossible to cancel the services and they do not maintain the equipment. ( Example - Leather Medicine balls were all torn up with stuffing coming out but this was ok? )I realize I blended the two allegedly separate companies but honestly, nearly dare you to separate them. Run screaming and do NOT use your bank account. If you know what you are doing and need someplace cheap, this might be ok.
The cancellation system was the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. They want a letter and a months notice for membership termination. I do not recomend this gym to anyone. The hours for this facility are inconvenient just like the cancellation.Costumer service is absolutely terrible. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM
Same issue as the other reviewers...Signed up during the special pricing to avoid the enrollment fee and was expecting the gym to open on November 1st. November 3rd came around and I saw a charge on my account even though the gym had not opened yet.I called the office and was told that they could not do anything about it and for me to drive to the other location or cancel my membership (which means I would lose the charge AND the annual fee). If I wanted to drive 40 minutes across Austin to work out, I would have never signed up for the Tech Ridge location.Ive sent numerous emails and have yet to hear back on the November statement charge. Really disappointed on the way they are handling this situation and they have yet to open.
I moved here from a different state and in my previous state youd pay 40 dollars a month and its not 24 hours. You get lot of equipment to use for only 10 dollars a month. Its never real busy but then again I dont go at peak times. Its easy to get to and they always have plenty of parking. The only thing is they took out the heavy bag. I was at a FC in Houston and the same thing happened. I was there for 2 months and they took away the heavy bag like they did at FC Tech Ridge. I do hope they bring it back.
*They deleted my other review on their Facebook page, so Im reposting it here.*Oh well be open next week. Oh were going to be open anytime this week! Were waiting for the city of Austins approval. The gym itself looks great, no complaints there. But the reason for this poor review is because theyve been lying to my face for the past month on when the gym is going to be open. Instead of giving me b.s excuses, just be honest so you dont waste my time and I dont waste your time asking the same questions. I was really hyped for this gym since its $10 a month for all those machines and free weights. Now Im just disappointed, especially after deleting my and other peoples reviews. Guess it was too good to be true.
Its a nice place, I love the sauna.... until it gets too hot for me and I feel like Im dying and its also hard to breathe in there,I love that they play movies but I wish they would just have the sound on instead of just having subtitles, I think I recall a time where there was sound but I could barely hear anything! Other than that,i really like this place! It would be cool if you could connect your phone to the movie thing, just a suggestion 😊
They double charge your account on occasion so you have to make sure they don’t scam you. This gym will also quote days that they will return the money and lie. I have been waiting on a reinbursement of $40. The basketball court is awful and a member can’t bring friends as guests to participate on the court.
I signed up back in August to take advantage of this great deal 🙄 and I’ve been getting charged every month since even though the gym isn’t opened and shows no sign of being opened soon. So glad I signed up early to avoid the enrollment fee, though I’ve pretty much paid it anyway since they keep taking my money without the gym being opened.
Bad consumer services. After signed In They gave some kind of “Free VIP Coupon” saying you can bring friend to try their place 7 day Free but I went there with my brother and they refuse him to have access in the Gym and still don’t said why he can not use that coupon.
The staff is very rude, have maybe found 1 or 2 staff that are genuinely polite.Update... HUGE staff improvement! Enjoy going only thing is during peak hours, but if you go before or after those hours you should finish your workout without having to wait for someone to finish using the equipment.
Fitness Connection offers a great price for a membership at a gym with decent equipment, clean showers, and a sauna and public classes. Their service is good and responsive, but it takes them a while to replace equipment such as for the water dispenser or lightbulb in the mens sauna room.
I signed up for 5 day pass for Tech ridge- Fitness Connection. I arrived here at 9:10 pm for checking out the gym. But, the front guy told me that I am not allowed after 8 pm even though the guest policy clearly states that guests are allowed till 10 pm.The guy’s name is Jesus and the manager is Scott. They didn’t reveal the last name of the manager too. Disappointed.
I love this location. Its close to my work and not too far from my home. I workout often and everytime I do, Im greeted by an awesome guy named Terrance. He helped me get into dieting and helped motivate me to be in the shape I want to be. Everytime I see him, he has a smile and greets me happily. I go during the night so its not too crowded yet hes always so chipper and I love it cause it helps me get in the mood to workout. The only bad experience I had was a night ago when a new girl started to cover the front desk. She had someone talking to her for the most part as i walked in and as i stood there, not trying to interrupt whatever was going on between her and Im guessing a customer, she doesnt move a muscle from her chair and just says You can scan. Sure Ive scanned myself in plenty of times but she didnt say any kind of greeting nor did she even attempt to show any enjoyment in her job. I scanned in and walked away without a word to the gentleman that was standing there talking to her or to the girl herself. I just went to the changing room and changed then left and stored my clothes in my car then came back in to workout. She didnt say a word to anybody leaving nor coming in. She just sat there blankly on her phone or talking to the gentleman from before. As I was working out I noticed a few people walking in a bit confused. As I peered over I noticed nobody was at the front checking people in. It was like that for about 5 to 10mins. No one was around and then I saw the girl walking around in workout clothes. Not the uniform for the gym but actual working out clothes. It threw me off at first cause I didnt recognize her but then I watched her casually walk to the desk and sit down. No worries at all. Just sat there on her phone. This upset me because how can you not greet/wave to people as they were coming in and going home? Like its not that hard to crack a smile and not be glued to your phone, at your job to be specific. When I left I looked over just to see what exactly she was gonna do as I exited and all I got was her back and her head buried into her phone. This has never happened before. Everybody Ive met and seen in the front greeted me, told me to enjoy my workout, and told me goodnight/day as I left. She was the first and only one Ive seen that was so lazy that she couldnt utter a word to a customer. Was the only bad experience Ive had at this location.Other then that Ive had fun working out here and jamming to music and feeling welcomed instead of shunned and secluded. I felt like I was somewhere safe. They always have a good amount of open equipment for me to use and weights are almost always racked when I get them. Out of all honesty, this is the best experience Ive had at any gym, ever. Yes that bad experience left a bad taste in my mouth but the next day I forgot all about cause Terrance greeted me happily and full of excitement that it got me back to focusing on me and my goals for going to the gym. I love this gym.
Im writing a poor review because I was promised that it would be a 24 hour facility when I signed up in October months before they finally opened . Was lied to and they already took my money. Might have to cancel since I hate driving 1 your to the location that is 24 hours. I only signed up because tech ridge was closer to me and I was willing to wait for a 24 hour gym that was close to me to open but now that is obviously not the case. Terrible!
I would give 0 STAR if i was allowed to. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not waste your money and time in this club. When you sign up they tell you one thing but later they charge you too many hidden fees. First thing is the annual fee which they charge you $53 right after you sign up. Also, they tell you, you can upgrade or downgrade anytime after 3 months with $0 fee but they lie. They charge you up to $100 for the member change even though it is not on the agreement. Managers attitude sucks. He behaves like you owe him money and never help the customers. Please do not join this location........
Pretty mediocre facilities, a little below what you would expect for the price. Main issue is that if you want to cancel you literally have to write a letter and it doesnt get processed for 30 days despite being able to easily sign up for your membership online. Clearly just a tactic to inconvenience you into not canceling.
Have been charged for membership since September. Called in today and the location is still not open and they do not have a date or any idea when it will be opened. I went to the lake creek location once, it was nice but too far away to be attending in the meanwhile plus my plan did not cover other locations. Plus the empolyees of lake creek themselves were suprised to see I was getting charged already before opening month. Wish they would have the courtesy to inform members of delays and figure out a way to compensate. Ill wait a week more and then most likely cancel my membership.
This morning a woman at the front who calls herself a manager, refused to allow me to work out because I didn’t have my key tag (this is the first time this has ever happened in the 3 + years i’ve been a member) and she was so rude and uncompromising about it. I said “can’t you make an exception and look me up in the computer? This has to happen a lot to ppl.” She said “No. We changed our policy. Unless you have identification on you.” I don’t know about you all, but I don’t make it a habit of working out with my purse and wallet. This gym needs to understand there are extenuating circumstances and not everyone is going to have their key cards or id every time. Purses get stolen. Cars go in the shop. you don’t always have these things with you. There should be a way we can check in ourselves, with an ID code or something, but never should a paying customer be turned away from your gym and treated rudely to boot. As if it wasn’t bad enough, one of the trainers came up and told me right when i started stretching to tell me I couldn’t stretch IN THE STRETCHING AREA “because there’s a bootcamp about to begin”. Well guess what Fitness Connection?! ITS NOT APPROPRIATE TO ROPE OFF THE COMMUNITY STRETCHING AREA FOR YOUR DUMB CLASSES. I PAY TO USE IT. GO RENT A ROOM SOMEWHERE ELSE OR USE ONE OF YOUR HUGE WORKOUT ROOMS SINCE YOU ADMIT THE PERSONAL TRAINERS ARENT EVEN AFFILIATED WITH YOUR GYM. Ridiculous!! Will be changing gyms after this.
Very hard to discuss any problems with the Costumer Services, they have only one email address used by all agents and it takes days to get a reply. I had a problem with their annual fee being charged twice and one month later it is not solved. The gym is always crowded, the internet connection never works and they are constantly running out of water!
I would like to start with the most important thing in my opinion, they are deceitful and hypocritical in this company. Starting with the one that attends you in the gym, to the customer service by phone. They lied in everything from the first day, and even to leave me, they continue to lie to me. I do not recommend anyone to attend a fitness connection, or they will cheat you like me.
This company is garbage! i signed up back in august of last year. we were told the new location would be open in oct. then nov. when they finally opened we were told it wasnt completely open. by the time it was fully open we moved to an apt that has everything this place offered so i wanted to cancel my membership. when i called to cancel i was told that i needed to mail a letter to them stating i wanted to cancel and it would take 30 days. i was also told i was late on a payment. funny because i have auto draft on my account. they are supposed to automatically pull from my acct so im not late. now i have to wait 30 days to cancel something i dont use. chick wanted to offer me 2 free months. i dont want 2 free months i want to cancel the acct. according to her there is no one who can cancel my acct. this company is garbage. i would not recommend this place to anyone!
EVEN A START IS ALSO A TOTAL WASTE . THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMOne of the Worst Gym i have Joined.Everything they say is a lie and dont join the gym ,if anything got broken in the gym , it takes months to rectify it.I lost the credit card and they charged the fee for that and saying that i cannot be refunded. It is very hard to reach them and after all that waiting they send it voicemail which never returned back.
I took a tour of the gym a few days ago and can confirm a nice facility. That being said, Ive called on several occasions and the gym isnt open yet (Dec 9), after being told of a Nov 1st opening. I spoke with John, GM, about the charges to my card and he told me to see the front desk when they open as they are taking it on a case by case basis.Im trying to be patient as they go through the permitting process because as a business owner I know that the city can be a PITA when it comes to expediting the work. I think they are understaffed.I will await the opening and if I am not satisfied, Ill be cancelling my membership and disputing the charges on my CC. I have no intention of paying for something that I am not receiving.Let the buyer beware.
Ive been a member since November and Ill give you 3 reasons to go: CYCLE w/Kim, Sauna and Childcare!I was skeptical bc many other locations received bad reviews and this location did not open when expected but since then Ive been happy. Staff is friendly and personable but it can get crowded (like any good place). Would be excited if it were to be 24 hr soon1. Cycle w/ KIm- Oh.My.Goodness- I LOVE this class! I started a month ago and kims hip hop (cylcing to bounce music, Drake and Kendrick Lamar?????) playlist and old school mix (Prince, Let me clear my throat and other 90s stuff) keeps me going! I look forward to this class and its really help me get summer time ready! Shes strict but fun and has good moves. You KNOW the workout is good when your shoulders and wrists are sweating! Quick tip- get some cycling shorts with the pads built in. They are $10 on amazon or at Walmart. MARCUS does cycle too and hes great. Although he has more of a free spirit/ positive vibe, you WILL work harder in his class because of his rhetorical questions (Are you holding yourself accountable? Why are your here today This is your workout are ALL queues for me to add weight to my bike!). The sense of community in class is great. Kim needs more bikes! Go to Marcus class on Wednesdays or Saturday mornings like I do to get the weekend started right!2. Sauna- so I HATE when people talk in the sauna so the best time to go is NOT after a group class like cycle or yoga bc its crowded. But its great for meditating at 5am. the Sauna is truly a treat at the end of a workout3. Childcare- i have a toddler and I love the kids club! Its free and has more supervision than the the other locations Ive been to. They know my child and seem to genuinely care. You cant bring in a bag and I hate that i have to stop my workout when my little one poops (wish they could change diapers!) but they are caring when she cries each time i leave her and they keep her enaged. They should be able to take tips!REALLY REALLY wanted to keep this review to myself bc i didnt want cycle to fill up even more than it has but I am truly thankful for these instructors. Austin doesnt have a lot of soul, so i LOVE to get my fill while working out!
The cancellation process is a nightmare!!!! Avoid this at all costs. I received a text message today (via their customer support line) saying that I have an outstanding balance and that if I did not call them it would be sent to collections. When I called the number I was told that my and my husbands accounts are not connected an therefore I was not authorized on the account. Basically they’re differentiated by phone number ANYWAYS... I asked to speak to a manager and she told me that I have an oustanfing balance of 0.01 cent. What in all the f***!!!! Then the manager informed me that I would need to go to the gym to pay the balance. I hung up and called the gym and Luckily the office manager at the there took care of it and that was the saving grace but if I had known that I had to mail in my cancellation request and everything following was this much drama I would have never joined. FYI it’s always crowded and that’s why I had to workout at 5am in order to have a decent workout without waiting on equipment.
Started going to this gym about two weeks ago and so far I have a few complaints. And these are things that can EASILY be fixed.1. No paper towels in the bathroom? People wash their face, go in the sauna, etc. There needs to be paper towels in the bathrooms. Blow dryers dont solve everything. Doesnt make sense.2. The wifi, to put it simply, is just unusable. Doesnt work. You have over 100 people in the gym at a time all trying to access it, of course its not going to work if you dont have enough bandwidth. Get some tech guys out there.3. No wallet lockers. Annoying to have to walk around with your wallet, keys, phone, etc in your hand all the time. And its kind of unnecessary to buy a lock and put those things into one of the big lockers in the locker room. Can easily install these.4. Theres no real designated stretch area. Theres kind of one by the personal trainers but not really. There should be an area full of soft mats for abs, stretching, jump rope, etc. I havent seen any foam rollers or stretch bars or anything. The layout can easily be designed to accommodate such an area.5. 3 bench presses (might be 4) for such a big spot is kind of like what? Also, no hex/trap bar from what ive seen. Not everyone wants to do straight deadlifts and kill ourselves.Having said all of this, the space is nice, clean and new. Might even have too many machines if you ask me. Basketball courts are legit too. Again, small things that can make your place even better imo.
They make it so difficult to cancel a membership. Like, why do I have to send a 30 day notice CERTIFIED MAIL for them to stop charging my card? Get with the times. In the year 2019, anything via snail mail is an inconvenience to customers. Any other gym, you can just call to cancel or maybe even make a face appearance...but not snail mail.
I am solely writing about my sign up experience I have not used any of their facilities. This is a shady business. They lied about the promotion ending soon to get people to sign up quickly. And now they are not open when they said theyd be. I was told I would not be charged until they opened yet I have already been charged the first months fees. I am sending in my cancellation letter.
These people are crooks. I was in retro fitness before they bankrupted. They transferred me here without my approval. I did not go there for six months before I noticed they have been secretly charging on my credit card. It is almost impossible to cancel. You cannot cancel over the phone or at the facility. You have to send a letter and they always deny they have received it. This company is like herpes. You cannot get rid of it. I think it was started for fraudulent purpose only. I have notified Texas Attorney General for consumer fraud. You should do the same too.
I toured the Lake creek location and decided to join with the expectation of the Tech Ridge facility opening soon (I was told mid November). While I understand things happen and there are sets backs, the generic in a few days next week etc. type answers that I get when I call for update is unacceptable. If youre not sure or have no idea when it will open or you KNOW you have to wait on the city at least say that. Sure people will still be upset but at least we would know the truth and not expect to for this location to be open soon. And judging from the other reviews, no one really seems to know. The amenities offered for the price really is a great deal. But what good is a deal of you cant use it. Yes there is another location and I have worked out there, although it takes me an hour to get there during the week due to traffic. I think most people are more upset with how its being handled.
Heres an update ever since my first complaint theyve gotten it together they gave me a t-shirt for cutting my lock off what I let me know the first month there when they first opened. And now they have great Fitness classes I love their Zumba I love that pop Pilates and Im sure theres many more classes and body pump is off the racks and this class is awesome
BUYER BEWARE. Im changing my 4 star review to a 1 star. I will have to cancel my debt card to get out of this sneaky contract.UPDATE: 7mo later and I am still getting calls saying I have a past due balance. They made me send them a handwritten letter explaining why I want to cancel (not kidding), and apparently that still wasnt good enough. Ive since changed who I bank with so Fitness Connection can no longer auto draft. I havent stepped foot in their gym in almost a year, and Ive tried several times to cancel. This is approaching abuse at this point.
So my husband and I signed up for this facility, we have been able to go in and look at the facility, it looks BOMB! Amazing, state of the art, tons of luxuries you cant get anywhere else for the $10 price.I see a ton of people upset (rightly so) about being charged for the monthly due when the gym hasnt opened. I inquired about this and got answers. Allow me to shed some light...1. I have worked in the construction business here in town...it can take FOREVER for them to do anything, really. They have to finish inspections and approve permits...blah. Thats what the gym is waiting on. Thats what theyve BEEN waiting on for at least a month. And no, its not ridiculous, its just Austin. When you have dealt with them, you understand it feels like you have to have a permit to sneeze in a building...they can be absurd.2. When you sign up for the multiple location membership which I believe was the one offered for $10 back in Aug - Nov, it starts right away because there is a location in town you can go to...the Lakeline location. Its inconvenient but it is there which is why youre being charged. This is something they offered to me when I signed up, they explained I would be charged first month because there is a facility I can go to. I opted out of it for that reason, I knew I was not driving all the way to Lakeline to workout. I live in Pflugerville...not happening. Also, if you signed up online, thats not something that was disclosed. In person you should have been told that.3. The promotion has been last chance since the end of Sept because they were hoping to open in Nov but thanks to the city, theyre sitting around waiting for approval. It is last chance, however because as soon as they get that green light, they will discontinue the special, and it will be full price. No I dont work for them, I know thats the first thing Im gonna get. I work for a medical company in the Barton Creek Mall area. I have no affiliation, family members or anything with the company, I just signed up for them and was lucky enough to get a great employee who answered all my questions and appreciated that I took the time to ask about all these bad reviews instead of jumping to conclusions. Like I said I have worked with COA on construction permits etc for years, from before the Austin boom to after and it really does take a long time. Not ALL permits take forever, but I worked enough with them to know this kind of situation is not unusual. I hope it opens soon, its a great facility, cannot wait! =)
Charged you for months when the gym was nit open which iss not wbat was agreed upon. Now it is impossoble to cancel. I canceled online and got a confirmed letter before the posted mail in cancels only. Not they only want a certified letter mailed in. What?!! If you want a real gym with owners who care, go to big tex around the corner
No sauna and the the gym is not 24 hrs anymore makes it hard for me to be consistent I lost 135lbs in fitness connection great staff 5star customer service great people I just need a 24hr gym with sauna it makes it hard because I get off when the gym is already close and during the day I have to rush my workouts and being 24hrs and the sauna was the main reason I got the membership
My husband signed he and I on May 23rd, I believe. They said it would be $10/each with free kids club. I thought to myself, wow this is too good to be true!! But if thats the case Im all in. Well literally June came around , I get hit with a late fee owing them $38. I called customer service because I was shocked this was happening. I just signed up.I get to customer service, the lady tell me she cant waive the fee due to the fact I have make 3 straight payments on time in order for that to take place. I said lady we just signed up, how is this possible? She then tells me I need my card on file in order for this not to happen.I call my husband and tell him to please take care of it. I was too upset to deal with it.He calls and he says everything is taken cared of. Surprise surprise, I go inside the gym to work out, and the lady at the front tells me I still owe $38. I tell her Im not paying that, I just started. I will only pay you $10 as agreed. So she only takes off one charge leaving me to pay $22. I go fine Ill pay it but please dont allow this to happen again. Now its July, same cr** happened again. Its only been about 3 days in July and I owe them $30soemthing dollars. I was livid at this point! They are no help. I had to re-update my debt card and lets hope this doesnt happen again.Well for my husband it did. They said the bank rejected the payment....hummm I wonder why? Sounds like someone is doing fraudulent business and its only a matter of time before they get caught! You either fix your system where its running properly or will lose money and business because their is poor management on you guys end! Last chance, if I have to owe more than $10 next month Im cancelling and warning people to stay away!!
I came to the gym with my friends, because I just moved here, I forgot to bring my id. They dot want me in without physic ID.But I CAN GET MEMBERSHIP WITHOUT PHYSIC ID!!!!I said ok, I will tell my friends, I am waiting for you outside, because I know that my friends will not take them during fitness. Mobile phone. The staff at the gym asked a person to follow me, only 10 dollars but I think trust is priceless.I am a owner of a business too’If the worker at a shop dot trust your customer how do we build a long term relationship ‘
Rude Staff I joined a few days ago and had great help. I decided to bring in my girlfriend 3 days later to show her around. It started at the front desk where the girl working told my GF in the rudest voice “you don’t look 20,” she then walked away while giving us instructions she asked for my girlfriend’s ID when my girlfriend replied to her “Really? I am 20 would you like to see my ID,” the girl answered “yes really,” and when my GF went to give it to her she replied “no, he will take it after the tour,” motioning to Renzo the employee next to her to which he didn’t reply or say anything. Then the original girl had my GF put down her info in their guestbook and was still being unclear. I then took my girlfriend on a tour and she loved it, we then were intercepted on our way out & corralled into the sign up area (which was fine we wanted to anyway) and then Renzo took over, at this point I didn’t think it could get any more awkward or uncomfortable. He sits us down and is hardly going over pricing and gym rates when he goes “do you both have iPhones?,” we both nod and he pulls his out and for the next 4-6 minutes talks about how his Iphone keeps having this iCloud message pop up and at this point we are so done and over this we are like “sorry can’t help you.” Next he starts saying I can’t sign up with a credit card, even though 72 hours ago I signed myself up with a credit card, he needs my girlfriends routing information and account #. Finally we just said we are done here we can do this later and stood up to walk out. This gym has nice equipment and is brand new, but it ends about there for niceness. I’m cancelling my membership and I’m going to be seeking a refund for how my girlfriend was spoken to.
Could yall just fail your New Years Resolutions. Some of us are actually trying to be productive in the gym. Get off your phones stop talking and do something. STOP SITTING ON MACHINES YOURE NOT USING!They sell far too many memberships, absolutely cram packed with people. Lack of amenities only a sauna. Spend your money elsewhere. Got advised dvised to come in at lunch... Absolute joke. 0 stars
I signed up here because its cheap, a variety of classes & tons of equipment. However, everything else is not so great. The WiFi there has never worked for me. I dont think its my phone bc my WiFi works everywhere else. I asked the front desk one day about their internet. She said she would check on it. That and the times after it still didnt work. Also, one guy at the desk was extremely rude when I checked in. I almost just walked right out. Also, I had lost my check in tag shortly after I signed up. For months, I just checked in with my drivers license. Then one day all of a sudden it was a problem. Im seriously considering canceling and finding somewhere else :(
I just stopped by the Fitness Connection located at Tech Ridge....simply had a question about the 5 day pass, and also the membership options. The gentleman at the deskwas unable to answer my questions by statingI dont know too much about the website indicated he would get a Manager on 2 occasions (but he never left the front desk). And also indicated to two people after me that he would get them a manager as well. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.....
Horrendous Customer Service here! Good luck trying to cancel your membership as this place makes it a living nightmare, even if you are moving out of state. Then this place tried nearly a year later to charge me for some ridiculous $35 fee and send a debt collector after me after not contacting me whatsoever. Avoid this scam business like the plague!
Let me start by saying HORRIBLE... HORRIBLE... HORRIBLE.customer service is a joke especially when your trying to contact their headquarters. Why must they make it such an inconvenience to cancel my membership come on were in the 2018.I do not recommend this gym to anyone not even my worst enemy
Let me start by saying this place is overcrowded. No matter what time of the day you go you will have to wait for machines and space. They have hidden fees its not really no contract. Biggest mistake going here. Other places charge a bit more but I promise this gym is not worth anyones time or money.
The worse ever service I had in my life , the front desk are rude un professionalism they force me to wear gloves 🧤and If You have to buy it from them !! What a mass business take advantage on this Covid 19 pandemic, She was discrimination with me the lady up front! God will get you back since you take advantage from us!
Terrible business!!! I keep having nothing but false information with this company. They keep charging me fee’s from left and right! For any potential customer BE AWARE that this company does not have a website where you are able to make any changes or make payments. To top it all off they claim that you can cancel at any time given that it is a Month to Month contract, but requires you to send a letter to some address with your information and they require you to send it 30 days in advance!!!WHAT CENTURY ARE WE IN!?
Edit: reduced to 1 star. Just because unethical business practices are the industry standard, doesn’t excuse their actions. Overcharging appears to be commonplace there. Just looking at their word-for-word form responses to the many other low ratings proves they do not care. For, any indoor gym trying to remain open during a pandemic is inexcusable.

2021-12-18This is THE PLACE to exercise. I’ve always had a good experience with Fitness Connection. My Wife and I been attending over two years now. The staff is very friendly along with the people who exercise there. Very spacious and the child care is excellent. My kids keep asking “are we going to the gym today?” 🤣 The maintenance team does a great job of keeping the equipment clean and makes sure the equipment is safe to use. I can go on and on…

2022-08-16Love this gym’s lay out, location and how well equipped is. Lots of parking spaces and close to many interesting places. Cleaning of the place could definitely improve, overall I love this gym.

2022-05-30I like the large number (and variety) of training machines, free weights, and sauna, as well as the fact that Fitness Connection keeps all of the facilities clean. From the front desk to the management, I appreciate the personal touch that the gym personnel provides. Every time I go there, they greet me by name and occasionally offer criticism and a friendly or encouraging phrase.I love the ease of having a great gym close to my home, therefore I go there frequently

2022-03-23I love Fitness Connection and can speak highly of this location. The gym is clean and I never really experienced machines being broken or having to wait too long for them. There is plenty to do and the staff is always friendly when greeting you. I had to cancel my membership because I moved but the manager was really understanding and helped me with canceling my membership without an issue. Highly recommend Fitness Connection to anyone!

2022-06-23Read and take notes before committing.1) When canceling make sure to cancel at least 30 days prior; theyll charge you for another months membership if you dont do so. Make sure to take other members off as well; theyll charge you for that, too. Their policy is another Uncle Sam in the making. 2) They do NOT send email reminder of annual membership of $50. Youll find out on your lovely bank statement. Youre supposed to remember this. 3) Their gym hours have not resumed back to 24/7. 4) You sign in with your physical gym only. Otherwise, its $10 to replace. 5) They have a lot of machines, but its a lot of treadmills/cardio machines. They have limited leg/glute machines. Id say just as much as a Planet Fitness would.Overall, its like a bigger Planet Fitness but with a lot more people, higher annual fee, and no email reminders at all.

2022-06-27Love my first gym ever! Everything here is awesome, zumba class, body pump, cycling. Cant wait for them to be 24 hours again and hopefully the kids club takes more age rages off kiss.

2022-06-06****BEWARE*** if you join with your minor DO NOT FORGET that when you cancel you MUST remove and cancel their subscription as well; even though theyre minors they technically have their own accounts. I went in to cancel and assumed my kids account would be cancelled, but nope, not the case. 2 months later, I was still being charged and of course had to pay the additional $50 fee to cancel hers. Read fine print and learn from me, do NOT sign up online; youre thinking, convenience, nah, thats how they get you bc if you dont read fine print, youre going to be surprised come the time you want to cancel! Will never go back to fitness connection.

2022-03-03The staff is great but the management could be better. Im traumatized by him glaring at me while my membership card is not scanned correctly. Please dont condescendingly look at me while I walk into the gym, because it made me feel so nervous and not welcome. Hopefully, this issue could be resolved so I can go to the gym worry-free and not feel threatened.

2022-08-06A steal for $10 a month. Mostly clean equipment with great classes. My only complaints are the hours. Its like theyre just not going to bring back 24/7 and just giving the silent treatment about it. BRING BACK 24/7.

2022-03-07Ive been working out locally the last ten years and belonged to many gyms in Austin, and Fitness Connection is by far my favorite! They have an extensive amount of equipment, including an additional mini-gym dedicated just to women, a theater with cardio equipment, kids club for members with children, plus so much more. The space is well lit, energetic and generally just a comfortable and motivating gym to be at! The current manager, Justin Anders, has been very helpful in every area ranging from a problem with equipment not working properly, to cleanliness, AC temperature and adjusting the volume once in the womens center. I rarely have issues there but if I do I just let Justin know and he works immediately to improve the quality of my experience there. This also extends to many other staff members at FC, however Mr. Anders goes over and beyond with the customer service he provides and should be recognized for his hard work.
