Even though they always seem like they have a fully packed patient schedule, they still somehow manage to schedule us in same-day when it is urgent and within a couple of days when it is a routine appointment. They also ask if anything else is going on and are happy to take a look and make sure our pup is fully taken care of when they leave. Curbside appointments are super easy and quick. They never try to push unnecessary treatments/medication to squeeze more money out of you, which has not been the case in my experience at other clinics in the area.
Starting in 2015, I volunteered with a Great Dane rescue/rehabilitation organization, which earned me two Great Danes and a steady stream of houseguest-style pets. At first, I brought my ‘on-loan pets’ to 4 Paws at 4 Points because they offered a greatly-appreciated discount for performing comprehensive physical assessments. Dr Lisa Okonsky and staff quickly secured my loyalty by the impressive level of experience, care, and knowledge they lavished on their clients (myself included!). From first contact with the front desk staff through the actual exam, I fully trusted that their abilities, their expectations and their priorities aligned with my own. Eventually I stopped fostering, but happily continued bringing Kane and Aurora (my two « foster failures ») here for their ongoing healthcare. And although I quite recently said farewell to the best Dane I ever knew, I’ll eventually have another ... and I’ll bring him/her to 4 Paws.
This is the first review I’ve ever done but I was so nervous about finding a vet for my pups and I’m so glad I was referred to 4paws! Everything about this place is fabulous!! Every person there is so incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. They were able to squeeze us in last minute which was so amazing considering I have a hectic schedule. This is the first vet I’ve been to that I felt like they truly cared and listened to our concerns, and also helped our dog feel comfortable as well. I definitely recommend them! From making an appointment to the actual visit, everything was so quick and efficient! Thank y’all so much, I look forward to future visits!!
Weve been taking our dog, Banks, since we adopted him a little over two years ago. They are always so great with him and treat him with love in each visit. Weve just adopted another dog and took her in for her shots and Im looking forward to sharing the same great care with her as well.
I would like to call all of the employees her my extended family. They have been so very caring, empathetic, professional and overall fantastic! We have been coming here for years and this will always be our Vet.Thank you again for being compassionate during difficult times and happy times.
(Im not a review kind of person, but I just had to this time!)Service was incredible. Staff was beyond nice and helpful. We were seen immediately without an appointment. We have never been there before because our regular vet is out in Bertram but my dog got a hold of some antibiotics and we had a bit of an emergency... When I called they took the time to talk to me on the phone and answer all my questions and they told me they were booked but would be able to squeeze us in. I am so beyond grateful for them! Excellent service!
These wonderful people have taken care of my sweet boy since I got him, and every visit has been a pleasant experience. Everyone is very friendly and caring, and they answer all of my questions every visit. I cant say enough great things about them! I highly recommend taking your pets for love and care at Four Paws!
This place leaves me speechless everytime I come. They truly care about my sweet pets and always make Jess feel special when she comes! When they brought her to me yesterday, she had on a cute little rainbow paw bandana! So sweet!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I would recommend them to anyone! Jessie literally jumps up and down when I bring her here. Amazing!
In late August, we had to put down our 18 year old Chihuahua. Four Paws at Four Points was so incredibly caring. They gave us all the time we needed to say good-bye, explained everything clearly, and treated our dog with great respect. Considering how hard of a situation that is, I would firmly place my trust in them 100% for anything else. Their professionalism, their care, and their exceptional bedside manner make them stand out over any vet I’ve ever gone to in Austin in the past.
There is no genuine care for pets their overall goal is to rack up a bill. I gave them several tries with my dog for an ear infection that came back multiple times and a bill of $200+ each try. Last attempt I called and demanded something change or at least a free examination, I was told they could refill a prescription for allergey medicine that would run $70 for a months without even looking/evaluating my poor dogs situation. Save yourself time and money and find someone who genuinely cares for animals not just a check.
I drive from Hutto to take my canine kids to see the wonderful people at Four Paws. They are compassionate and have a passion for their patients. My pets never suffer any anxiety, even after overnight stays, when visiting. I am completely comfortable putting my best friends health and well being in their capable hands
My husband and I have taken our dog here before and weve enjoyed their service. They seemed to care for our dog and do what they could for us. This last time, we were gone for a little over a week and dropped her off for boarding. When we picked her up, she was caked in old pee all over her paws. I know they ask about bathing your dog or not, but when it becomes a health risk, we didnt understand why they didnt communicate that with us and get our permission to bath her. We are lucky she hasnt gotten sick. They didnt seem to care for her or her heath at all. We are happy that we dont have to deal with them anymore since we are moving, but its not fair to other owners who may leave their dogs there in the future. Its disappointing that their service and care has fallen this low, especially for the kind of money you pay to board your dog there.
Our two year old Shih Tzu has been going to Four Points at Four Points since he was 8 weeks old, they have been consistent, offer high quality care and are such a warm and friendly team. I always know he is in great hands! I highly recommend this practice for your fur baby!
I am completely comfortable with Four Paws at Four Points treating my dog. What else do you need to say? The staff and vets there are very nice and polite and love pets. They even call to check up on your pets to make sure that everything is ok after being treated. If you are new to the area, definitely give them a shot if your pet needs some help.
Everytime I bring my dog Jameson in these people are so wonderful with him. Everyone is so nice and you can absolutely tell that they love their job. If I call with questions they answer every single one in detail and they seem to really care. They never seem too busy to take the time out to help you, which really helps especially when youre stressed about your baby being sick. Knowing hes in good hands can really help put your mind at ease. Such a wonderful staff! Thank you!
I have never been to a more professional and comforting veterinary clinic! They have a customer for life right here. They go above and beyond every time we are there! And you won’t believe how affordable they are for the care they provide; it’s always a happy surprise when we pay the bill! Don’t trust your furbabies to anyone else!!!
I can not write enough wonderful words about 4 Paws. Our dear Twiggy (dachshund) had to go to dog heaven, and I, my daughter and ex-wife have never had such a great experience with any veterinarian, EVER. Their treatment of her passing was so heart felt. We had 3 paw engraved in plaster, and one was sent to my daughter and my ex-wfie. Both had a pink ribbon. Mine had a blue ribbon. Small details like this I love.We came to 4 Paws because of a concern over a diagnosis, over several months, from another veterinarian, in the area, who thought Twiggy had a bacteria infection. Dr. James immediately noticed a large (golf ball) growth that the previous vet had missed after numerous visits. Obviously the news was not good, but it was shocking that Dr. James so easily found the tumor, whereas the previous clinic used found nothing. I can not give enough stars and highly recommend anyone to use 4 Paws. In time, we will have another dog and 4 Paws will always be our clinic. Thank you 4 Paws for your expertise, but mostly your heart and soul…..
NOT IMPRESSED! I took my dog in for an overall opinion of her well being. The Vet I saw was okay, but not very knowledgeable. She wanted to prescribe pain killers that may effect the kidneys, even after mentioning that my dog may be experiencing kidney failure. I asked if she felt like we should do a blood test to check how her kidneys were doing before giving her something that could cause greater problems and she agreed that was a good idea. She did want to test her urine as well, but the tech was not able to get a urine sample. So, they asked for me to collect the urine myself and bring it back. When I brought back the urine sample they tried to charge me ANOTHER $22 office visit charge. I asked why they were charging an office visit since I did not see anyone and they said it was for the techs time- even though the urine sample was being sent off to be tested. The receptionist knew I was not happy and offered to get the tech. After she checked with the Vet she actually argued with me in the lobby stating that I needed to pay for the time they were spending on this..remember I collected the urine and brought it in after spending $200 on our first visit and at least 2 hours of being shuffled from room to room while they saw other patients. They were willing to lose a customer over $22. A charge that was not earned (or needed for their business). I feel this practice cares more about money than the care of animals.Hopefully you will think about this before taking your loved ones there.
I boarded my cats here a few weeks ago. It was the first time coming here and they could tell I was a little nervous dropping them off. They had one of the vets come out to talk to me and give me details about what services they would perform on one of my cats while they were staying there. They were super sweet. You can tell they truly do care for your animals.
Very impressed. I was a horrible crying mess over my cat. They were very understanding, and let me sit in a private area so I could gather myself. They arranged for my cats surgery quickly. They explained every step to me and called with updates. My cat is doing wonderfully now. It cost a pretty penny but worth every single one.
I have been here for my dog afew times over the years and have no complaints. They have done what they were asked for; shots, general annual check up & dental cleaning. MOF, unlike other Vets, they have never pushed more services & tests on me. Granted, theyre not cheap but I havent found an inexpensive Vet yet. I would go there again in a heartbeat.
The person making my pizza was surprisingly rude and unfriendly. The bathroom looked unattended to and was dirty, I felt grossed out using the bathroom. The drink area looked as though it had not been cleaned in a while. I most likely will not be returning to eat here again.
We had amazing experience. We had to put our Captain Jack boxer down. We had just moved to Austin not having a vet and they made everything as great as this hard day could have been. Thank you Four Paws you helped us Thru this hard time. When we decided to get another Fur baby they will be our vet here for sure.
Legit and laid back vet office. Expect to wait after your scheduled appointment. We wish the pro staff would review the pups file at least for 2 or 3 minutes before consultation. the vet inquired into whether or not the dog is spayed when the appointment was ENDING... This was our 3rd visit.....uhhh....
If I could give them more than 5 stars..I would. They are the most amazing people. My chihuahuas, Hildi & Lilo are my entire life. All that matters is their health, and safety. I have been going to 4 Paws for over 18 years with Kira (Andrew Threatt). When I received Hildi, and then Lilo, first place they both went was 4 Paws. They are caring, loving and knowledgeable. Even when I turn into a big water-works guy, they are there.I love you guys. Thank you for everything. Thank you for keeping the ultimate & only loves of my life healthy.
Terrible unethical experience by doctor Kleypas, I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. This doctor was more focused on making sure she charged me correctly which she clearly demonstrated when she “examined” my Bucky by touching his back. She NEGLECTED my little Buckingham and did know other treatments to properly assess (very poor practice). I spent over $400 for a quick examination that was rushed by the doctor. Needless to say, zero results.
Awesome awesome awesome awesome! The docs, the techs, the front office staff, everyone cares about you. They know what theyre talking about, theyre down to earth, and they dont break the bank trying to keep your pet healthy. If they say to do something, theyre not selling you food or products, theyre giving you sound advice. Its really great!
We have been going to this vet since we moved in december 2011. So far our boxer who is 7 years old had a severe eye problem. When I called on the phone they said to bring him in, so we did, they gave him drops with steroids in them which made his boxers ulcer worse. We made another appointment for his eye and they switched his medicine and this time told us they dont specialize in eyes and gave us the name of a great eye dr. Of course that was after they took my combined $400 for both visits and meds and did not help my dog at all. Then our dog had a hemotama in his ear, which he has had before. We went in and told the young vet that he has had one before and the last vet drained it and it never came back. She proceeded to tell us that she never drains hematomas because they ALWAYS come back. She gave him a round of prednisone and convinced us this was the best option. Of course it did not work and we had to schedule yet another appointment where this time I demanded she drain the ear, give him antibiotics in case of infection. The moment before she drained my dogs ear I asked her how many of these she had done. Her answer was none, this is my first. But just two weeks before she told me how draining the ear NEVER works, yet she had never even performed this? Well it did work, 3 weeks later his ear is fine and I am out 250 bucks for both appointments when one would have been sufficient if she had done not only what we asked, but what we told her had worked the 1st time he had had one.I am not going to this vet anymore for two reasons and I would not recommend them ever. The first being that multiple appointment costs multiple dollars. They should have told me over the phone that they do not deal with eyes and sent me immediately to a specialist. The vet should have drained his ear the first time. The second reason, is that I called to let them know how disappointed I was with their service, spoke to the manager and she assured me that the owner would call me. Well its been a week since that call. So my money is good for them, but my satisfaction with their services seems to be something they dont care for at all.On a side note, I have never been to a vet that uses carpeting. This vet does and let me assure you of the smell. Its just plain gross and not hygenic.
Recently, I had a family emergency requiring me to leave town unexpectedly. The staff at Four Paws At Four Points were very helpful and accommodating to our pet Schnauzers, Daphne & Lily. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a caring and friendly place to board your pets.

2022-02-03We have been coming to 4 Paws at 4 Points for 20 years now, this is my first review - MY BAD. 4Pat4P have been great taking care of our family – our Newfie and Great Pyrenees since they were pups. 2021 we had to euthanize our 13 ½ year old elderly Newfie and earlier our 7-year-old Great Pyrenees due to cancer. They treated us and our pets with respect, kindness and care. Last week we had our first wellness checkup / shots for our 2 new Great Pyrenees pups, Jagger and Bowie. The vet and technicians were helpful and spent extra time examine and reviewing new pup detail. I can not say enough good things about the team. FYI, we also have 2 cats that are less then a year old. The whole family is doing great thanks to the help and advice from 4 Paws at 4 Points

2022-07-27My first review of any business. I am only writing as front staff nor owners would not even address my concerns of them being always late for appointments, clueless vet techs that do not review notes about your animal ( dog) that has been in there 5-10 time for the same problems. Then you ask - please just give me a prescription to fill elsewhere - to avoid coming there for steroid shots for allergies. But know I guess to maximize profit they want you to come in and get a shot! But I am too busy to wait for this and issue has been ongoing for yearsI then say prescription please- I will get online or costco - half the price and no time wasted. No they do not call - then fill it there. I ask for files to just leave this place. They print wrong files- get mad when I point out -and say they are just a lowly paid person - call me miserable and just walk offI beg for files - write email when I finally get- say let vet /owner knowThey just write back and say we do not care you said you are going elsewhere. I thought as a business owner I would want to know if my staff was that rude and incompetent?Im out over a thousand dollars but more importantly time wasted and a dog itching itselfNever ever got a follow up call or email in last two years of appointments- just swipe my card!!!! Tell me keep doing things that do not work - and always late for appointmentsSo long 4 Paws -one day when Austin is not booming - this will hurt you if not addressedWriting this on behalf of my dog, Vino.We will find a place that treats customers with respect, trains front staff and pays them wellMark

2022-09-04The Vet and Vet Tech were wonderful! They were so good with my Chili Dog. He was scared but they loved on him and he began relaxing a bit. The Vet called and checked on him.

2021-10-21I have been a client here for a year. I came in first as a new client during the pandemic and was happy with my experience. Today was a different story, my dog Sage is a 33 pound chihuahua mix/rescue from the shelter and was scared of the tech, Deanna, coming towards her to pick her up. After successfully picking up Sage, Deanna almost dropped her off the table twice during the visit where my dog was merely shaking and not showing any further signs of aggression, just fear. Sage frequents all places with children, dogs, and humans and has never shown aggression. She even has a dog walker who enters the house unannounced weekly with no issues. After the appointment I overheard the staff being entirely unprofessional and stating my dog is not safe to be around my child (I am currently pregnant) and I should be worried about her with my baby. I didn’t know you could determine that without being an animal behaviorist and it only being a 5 minute clinical introduction. I also had an open balance I was unaware of, which I happily paid since finances are absolutely not an issue. I would rather pay all the money in the world for good treatment of my dog and myself which is my I will not be taking my dog back to this clinic. If you are looking for compassion, you should definitely consider different options along 620/in Austin. There are many that show much more professionalism and care towards all types of dogs and clients.

2021-09-19Over my dogs 12 years I have used FOUR paws at FOUR points receiving reliable, caring, honest service. They showed concern for the long term care of my dog Rosie as I never felt they viewed my dog in a transactional manner. There were many occasions I took them my dog for treatment and days later I would call up (sometimes multiple times) seeking follow on advise. They provided that advise with no mention of fees or appointment required. At times the actual Vet would get on the phone to provide advise directly, the vet was obviously putting my pet before his monetary bottom line. When my dog developed cancer I appreciated their honest straight forward approach. Instead of dragging us into unnecessary tests and temporary treatments for an incurable situation they laid out options to minimize my dogs pain and retain remaining quality of life.Four Paws at Four points in my many experiences has been a great long term Vet.

2021-09-09Ive taken my dogs here for the last 7 years or so. Theyve taken amazing care of my girls. Some vet clinics wont allow you to fill prescriptions outside of their clinic (like 1800 pet meds). I always want to support this clinic when I can but sometimes if the medications expensive I have to find another way and Im so happy that theyre willing to work with meDefinitely worth bringing your babies to. :)
