A great place to spend the afternoon. Take the train tour in cooler weather. Its fun and informative. Send the big kids to the video game section and the littles to the discovery center.Your set up perfect for a block away having lunch at Babes and a sno cone at the famous Sno Cone Lady. Then tour the Heritage museum and old buildings for a great phot op. Also in the area is The Frisco Commons memorial park w splashpad and trails.
We hosted a birthday party here for 5yo. It was more affordable than most of the other options, and thats because they really dont provide anything other than tables and staff, but thats what I wanted. The kids LOVED playing here, and all attendees get all day admission, so it was a great value. The exhibits were really interesting, highly recommend!
This place is great. We spend all day here today!Mr. Zach was amazing with a room full of 7 years olds. 1st grade trip with around 50 kids. Handled all of them with ease. This man has a knack with kids. Definitely made Education fun. Nothing is hands off. Completely hands on everything is encouraged. Fun for adults too. Souvenir Shop was VERY affordable. We left with multiple items under $5 and they go up to $75. From slime to a Drone. Your average toy though is under $10. The associate who checked us out was sweet and super informative. Gave us a pamphlet about memberships which she sold us on. $80 for a year and it includes a lot of discounts to everything from parties to the Souvenir Shop. We have our membership and will return very soon.
Frisco Discovery center has something for pretty much everyone. You can visit anyone of several activities or take a guided tour through the train yard which includes being allowed to climb on some of the engines and walk through some of the cars. I highly recommend it.
The Sci-Tech Discovery Center was OK. It was expensive for not much to do. Along with that the staff for the center was not open to suggestions at all. The National Videogame Museum was better. There was a nice tour and pretty cool pieces of technology. Overall, it was decent at both places
What a neat facility. Shout out to the city of Frisco. Visited the Black Box Theatre to see a show by the North Texas Performing Arts bureau also peeked in to see the Train display and a peek at rhe Video Game Museum. Great parking lot. Easily accessible for wheel chairs.
Unless you have a few hundred dollars you dont know what to do with, dont come here. The prices to get into each area is pretty pricey. We could only afford one place. I am sure that each area is really neat and exciting, but we had no idea that each area required its own entrance fees. Pretty pricey place!!
Not much there; it seems like a front for grants or tax money. Im all for places like this when theyre done well, but this one is not. Whoever said it is dark and dreary is right. Staff isnt very good at explaining anything. It was over $8 for a four year old. Glad we saw it because I always wondered about it, but now I know were not missing anything!
The Frisco Discovery Center is a hidden gem in this city. It is a one stop shop for many activities.Take in a bit of culture in the black box theatre. Weve sent 101 Dalmatians Kids, and Joseph and The Technicolor Dream Coat.Theres also a science room and the National Video Game Museum.Do yourself a favor and GO
I went there without thinking about it. The entrance fee was a little over 10,000 won for adults. Five tokens are given at the entrance. You can play airplane gamesThe game can be played without a token in the 60s. Its like a game in the 70sAnd theres a recreated youth room in the 70s, and theres a big room next to it where you can play Nintendo Switch. Most of Dallas are cold because the room is cold. Good in water

2022-05-29Such a great time for all ages. There was so much space to explore, tons to look at, and plenty of nostalgia for everyone. The way some of the displays are set up is so creative, & you can interact with most everything in the museum. Highly recommended.

2022-06-29The volunteers that helped me set up our party room were really good sports. They were willing to help me blow up a gazillion balloons for these balloon arches that I purchased, not realizing how complicated they were to set up. The space wasnt entirely clean. There was some leftover bits of food on some of the table covers. Also it just would have been nice for the money paid for the party package to include bottled water or something. Couple of two litter bottles or something. 15 minutes its not a lot of time to set up if you have a lot of decorations. So youre going to want to make sure youre on time, and that you dont have a lot of balloons to blow up or something. We chose the rocket activity. There was an in-room activity, and then an activity outside of the room. It was a lot of herding cats and shuffling back and forth. Still this birthday party package was one of the least expensive of all the places that I called. The activities in the general play area are pretty cool and I felt that kids were engaged there

2022-06-21Loved how cool the museum is and its decorations. I wish they had more arcade games in a bigger room. Dance dance revolution, busta groove, soul calibur, master blaster, festers quest, gauntlet on dreamcast, and marvel versus capcom 2, and tekken were missing from the collection on top of contra 3

2022-06-10Is a very neat place. On Saturday the tech and train place closed at 5 while the video game museum closed at 6. All opening at 10, so I would plan accordingly.

2022-02-18My kids always love this place. They change it periodically, so while it is not a large place it is worth going back occasionally as the exhibits change.Honestly, the membership is totally worth it, and members get a discount on camps!

2022-06-18Has significant room for improvement. This place has such a great opportunity to capture the minds of young kids but fails with vast empty areas and old equipment

2019-11-03This was a private collection that was donated to traintopia. It is one of the largest model train layouts Ive ever seen and very beautifully done. The model train collection is only part of the displays by traintopa. They have a large collection of real engines and cars. Many of which have either been restored are in the process of being restored. One of the most interesting is a large steam engine. Well worth the trip to see. Make sure you check the schedule for the tours of the large engines. Also check the weather as the large equipment is outside.
