Genghis Grill in other cities:
Decided to dine in. Upon walking in the server who after I began scanning the qr because I assumed menus were digital now gave a condescending remark. The whole experience never came back by the table aside for asking if we good and if the check was to be together or separate. While another waitress was in there the experience wouldve been better if we were served by her. Paid via the app because I was already over the whole thing and then he jumped up about it after saying I paid with the app turned his back and didnt say a word. Glad I didnt tip. Just treat me like a actual person and check on me not to just give me a check and we will be Gucci. Wont be returning to this location to atleast see that he is no longer at that location. And Id love to speak with a gm or district manager if not the manager of this establishment.Edit: appreciate how the owner responded with a way to contact which I did, however I have yet to receive a response. Even if its just acknowledgement at this point there is REALLY no reason for me to give this establishment a second chance.
Food was decent , but overpriced. Spent 42 dollars for 2 regular bowls and drinks not including tip. Waiters were fighting over who to serve us while we waited 20 min for drinks . Manager interfered between the two, all within 2 tables from us . Would recommend another Ghengis location if you must have it. Would not go again.
Im came in from out of town and while in town decided to visit for a Togo order, since all of the restaurants near my hometown were permanently closed. Genghis has definitely dropped the ball... when I entered and let the greeter know it was Togo I was directed to a barcode and promoted to scan to order no further instructions... if I wanted to do an online order rather than in store I would have done so then once navigating through the scan there was a download required. I walked out if its this complicated to spend my money here I just wont
I loveeee this place best restaurant hands down the staff is amazing so friendly and clean and the food is incredible i love the build your own bowl it’s so cheap for the fact you can go and choose how much meat and veggies you want in your bowl you can be you and build it your way i freaking love it 🥰 i come every week now it’s crazy how addicted i am ✨🤸🏾♀️
The sever was good and promptly. The signature cocktail they were advertising was an Old Fashioned and that happens to be a favorite drink of mine, but what was brought to my table was whiskey with a splash of coke.... so that was disappointing. The cost has increased significantly for making your own plate so it can be hit or miss on how great it is... you can go to a nice Chinese buffet and get close to the same thing plus so much more for less price.
Food was really good and well cooked with great taste. I personally didn’t like the idea of mixing my meets and veggies in the same bowl but that didn’t really change the taste! I got a regular sized bowl and could barely finish it for lunch. They also have discounted lunch prices ($2 discount). Service was good!!
Good wok, I didnt like this location as much I had liked other locations of Genghis grill. This restaurant lacked Sriracha marinated chicken and they didnt had the Asian chilli sauce of which I am a big fan from other locations of same franchisee.I have been to BDs Mongolian grill but I preferred Genghis more because of the choices they provide but this location was just ordinary. The food came out good and everyone liked it, the chicken were huge pieces and were not cut in pieces hence felt a bit raw.The shrimp was good though.
This was a new dining experience for sure. Im a very picky eater..not to mention I like getting my order fast but here...individuals select their meats, sauces, veges, spices and other items in a selected bowl and hand bowl and hand it over to the cook and he whips you up the meal you designed yourself....if youre not a great cook keep your fingers crossed and pray you put the right flavors and quantities..might I be facetious to say my 1st thought was why am I doing 50% of the work for the chef cuz he just cooks it after I did the harvesting 🤗
This was my first time visiting and I had a pleasant experience. Hunter was our server and he did a great job explaining the process and even brought us up to the buffet to show us everything. The portion was decent for the price and everything tasted great. The only issue I had was the buffet wasnt stocked very well. There were at least 5 or 6 items that werent fully stocked.
After almost a year we came back to ghengis grill and we knew there were gonna be some changes because of COVID, I like the renovation feels more airy, and bright😃!! I was sad some of my favorite employees weren’t there anymore. The new way of choosing all ingredients was not bad at all I think I actually like it more, like always service was good, place was clean... definitely gonna keep coming.
Amazing Mongolian bbq, come here for the food! You select your size bowl, fill it up with raw ingredients as much as you like (you can really stack the meat up in a large), and they stirfry/grill everything at once. Good sauce and flavor selection, great if you like to make your meals your own with your own choice of seasonings.
Ordered a Pad Thai, was told the cook doesnt know how to make Pad Thai. What kind of restaurant hires cooks who cant cook something on the menu!? Restaraunt is also filthy with dirty tables all over the place waiting to be cleaned up. This place is sketch and I wont be returning
Awesome place. I can keep going back to this place to discover a new dish every time. You select the size of your bowl, fill it up with meat, sea foods and veggies. Add the salt dressing of your choice and pick your sauces(ranges from sweet to spicy). Then you have the option to select rice, brown rice, fried rice or udon noodles as the base. That is it.
We love coming to this place and have for years. But just be aware that they raised the prices across the board. The Large bowl was $14.99 & is now $19.99 & the regular bowl was $12.99 & raised to $15.99. I’m sure the small bowl has gone up too. We didn’t realize until the bill had come, but everyone else just be aware of this new increase.
Food was great, the variety and flavor of sauces they had are very flavorful - However service and store cleanliness (or lack thereof) was extremely disappointing. To start, our waiter and waitress argued in front of our table about who was supposed to wait on us while we waited 5 min, then our severer didnt mention how it worked with bottomless bowls until after I asked. After I got my food I was happy with it, but then it got worse. On my way to the bathroom the bartender was guzzling down a Red Bull, which seemed pretty unprofessional for a restaurant. Ive always gone by the rule you can judge a kitchen by the way they bathroom is, and in this case I wanted to throw up .I mean how low of standards does every male employee have when they walked in here and didnt care to take care of this - and to think they were in charge of keeping my raw food I ate safe makes me want to vommit 🤢
Picked this up tonight and I have mixed reviews. I wanted a teriyaki bowl and they had one so I ordered it. Service was ok but took about 10-15 minutes which isn’t bad. The prices are a bit much for the portions and considering it’s a quick casual place. It was close to 17 dollars for a medium bowl. Overpriced food. Didn’t get a receipt either. The food itself was ok but not enough flavor from the sauce and chicken was fair. Overall ok experience but not what I was hoping for.
I personally have had good experiences here. Ive gone about 4 times over the last month and some change. Our most recent visit we were unable to go because they were out of so many food items it wasnt worth it. But we came back the next day and everything was fully stocked looked good and fresh kept on ice. Food came to the table nice and hot the exact way I put it in my bowl. The bartender was very kind and personable Im not sure why others were saying he was rude. But each visit is different. They really are trying to make this location nicer and more updated. Just give it time. I cant wait to be back.
Pathetic service - very ROUGH people waiting table. Invited a friend and his fiancee over and as they came, i wanted to welcome and give them a couple of mins to breath before we place the order and the waiter was LITERALLY on our heads to finalize the order. Afterwards, found a cockroach on the furnitureNot going there again
Food was cooked to perfection but service is deplorable. I ask not only the manager for my tortilla I asked my server twice. I had to go get my own refill of ice tea. The quality of service has lacked since Covid. I use to go weekly but I will choose where I spend my money. Tip was giving to cooks and one dollar for waiter.
Sadly I found my favorite location to eat at had employees that were unprofessional, my waitress was serving food while wearing flip flops which is very unsanitary, she was also very rude when I later asked for a water asking why I didn’t ask for it the first time she came to the table. I could also hear employees talking loudly about customers, the whole experience was ruined by bad service and the attitude of not caring that the employees had working in this establishment
DONT GO HERE PLEASE...DANGEROUSI would not EVER go to this place ever again. I received a drink from the bar and in the ice was a broken piece of glass that cut my tongue. I bled quite a lot. I ask for the manager and he would not come out to check on me. They gave us a poultry $15 off our bill, (4 persons) and the worst part is they never changed the ice out. They didnt even inspect it to see if there was any more glass in the bar Ice area. Dangerous place to go to do not go to this restaurant. They dont care about cleanliness or their customers. They saw these napkins and saw my tongue actually bleeding and didnt offer anything. Terrible place. Pick another location please.
Fresh food is always out - from seafood to chicken and don’t forget pork and steak!!! All veggies are clean cut with several spices/ sauces to choose from! Just add what you want to your bowl- you can pack your bowl pretty tight - a small seemed too small but it was More than enough!!! Then hand your bowl over the chefs and tell them what kind of rice or noodles you wanna add and it a very short time you’ll be eating a very satisfying freshly grilled meal!!! Bon appétit!!!
Good atmosphere, clean, fresh food, nice staff, I love Genghis. I suggest checking you food before you leave if you order to go and if more than one person. My base ingredients was mixed up with someone elses I called and was told to come back which was as frustrating as realizing the order wrong and living 40-45 minutes away. I would think they would at least suggest a next time opportunity to get it right or offer a credit, discount something, but they didnt ..
Husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary today. 10/10!!! Delicious food, even better as left overs! I recommend getting a large bowl if you want leftovers for later or the next day. Also gave a us free dessert for our anniversary. Definitely will be coming back.
I love Ghengis grill so I found a location near my job. I walked in they took my order and then I get to the line and I asked the cook where to get my bowl. He responded saying you have to stay 6 feet back. I then asked again thinking he didn’t hear me and he says the same thing a little more aggressively. Then I ask one more time where are the bowls and he finally tells me with an attitude. So a couple and their child were in front of me. No one behind me. I put my food on the counter to get cooked right after the family in front of me like within seconds. So the cook proceeds to only cook their food and made me wait as he was standing there drinking his drink and talking to himself. He finally finishes and has it taken to the bar. I didn’t know he was done so he yells at me and says ma’am go get your food from the bar. I observed him rolling his eyes and talking under his breath. It was so unnecessary for him to behave in that manner as he is providing a service to the community. I definitely will not be returning to that location.
Sticky floors as soon as you walk in.Rude staff who doesnt really want to be there. Was given the wrong size order and charged for a larger one and on top of it all, the food was scorched.Nothing like eating meat flavored charcoal. Will not be back. You will receive a much better experience at the Frisco or Mesquite locations
Service is terrible! The food is great and all but this review is solely based on the service here.Only one waiter attending multiple people and just to get his attention was bad enough. I couldn’t recall what was the reason I never came to this location and today I remembered why!… some things have not changed for the better.. I don’t even know our servers name because I was not greeted properly…..
It looks like my previous comment has been deleted.I DO NOT recommend that spot. Service was slow and terrible. We ordered an appetizer that never come so we had to ask for it again. We waited for our bowls at least 20min so we could go and choose our meal. The waiter was really slow. We waited for everything even to have some water. When we finally got to choose the food we wanted, I was waiting at the table for about 15-20min. They gave my bowl to another customer 🤷♀️🤦♀️. No apologies, no offering to take off the appetizer or at least getting a discount for the whole experience 💩💩👎.
I love this place. But I hate that theyve been completely out of bacon the last 3 times Ive gone (with bacon on my mind). The lady at the grill gave me the wrong base this time. But, overall, this place is amazing. The food bar is clean. The supplies are organized. The workers arent rude. And the brotha that works the bar has awesome customer service skills and makes some perfect drinks!
I really appreciated the fact that this specific location has someone to pack the bowl for you. It made me feel more comfortable knowing one person has gloves on and is serving each item as opposed to every person coming in touching the tongs. I drove 30 mins just to come to this location. Dont get me wrong, I would do it any way if this was the only one around because I LOVE GENGHIS GRILL ❤ lol. But I came here because I feel way better about the way my food is handled during, especially during covid. Great service and team 👏👍.
Whats not to like... you pick your own ingredients, veggies meat and seasonings / sauces mixed with rice or noodles. Its prepared by a stir fry chef nice and hot when your server arrives at your table. The staff is friendly and attentive. If you like Asian food give it a try and see 👍 Happy New year 🍾🥂 Cheers
Have been there today . It was not very busy at around 8 pm . We entered and was not attended for few minutes . We were finally received after 5 mins when the person at bar asked us to sit at some place with hand gesture. 10 mins passed no one attended , finally we were hungry I went and stood in the que . Finally after 10 mins in que someone came at table and did a “hand gesture “ to me again to come and I lost my line in the que . The behavior is kind of rude and unwelcoming.Food was ok , thanks to our long wait .But with this kind of behavior I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anybody .
Love it!! Love it!! Love it!! My son treated me to supper tonight, and as always, it was super fantastic! It was funny that they put his large bowl contents into the regular sized bowl meant for me. We got the correct food, just the incorrect bowl. Didnt affect the taste, and have us a chuckle. Extremely greatful for my sons company tonight. Does anyone know if the one that was on Park at the Tollway is going to reopen & when?
I have always seen the sign for Genghis Grill but it never stopped to actually eat there. The minute we walked in we were greeted by friendly people and asked for a quiet table. We were placed somewhat close to the grill area and although it appeared to have a bar area around the grill I was surprised that they did not have bar stools around it so people could watch them cook and eat there also. If it all possible this would be a suggestion to upper management or corporate. The waiter came promptly and asked us what we would like to drink and when he returned he asked us what kind of bowl we would like. After bringing us back are bowls to go select are ingredients we proceeded to the line of freshly prepared meat vegetables sauces and spices. Since there was so many sauces to choose from I asked one of the waiters what he would suggest. He told me that the honey something and the g something tasted very good and was probably the most popular. I do favor chicken and tried a little bit of the shredded beef then picked out all my favorite vegetables. When the bowls were delivered to our tables we ate leisurely and our drinks were refilled when needed. The entire experience was awesome and we will definitely return again and again. Last but not least the prices are very affordable and even with a tip the two of us ate for around $30 hours. If you have not been to Genghis Grill then please try it today and you will be glad you did!
Its been awhile since Ive been at this location. Looks like theres been a couple of updates in the booth tables and bar area. I know theres been a slight change with how they did things. The biggest change I noticed was no longer eggs on the bar, you have to ask for the egg(s) one or two- once you hand your bowl to the cooks. The staff of super friendly and very helpful and knew exactly what they were doing. We actually sat in the bar area and received great service!
Ive been a regular customer at this specific location for several months but thats over now. Ive never had as many issues with any other business that Ive visited regularly as I have with this one. The staff barely acknowledges you and they act like they dont know whats going on when you have an issue. Zero accountability as well. Id give zero stars if I could.
I’m so disappointed in the fact that this place lacked diversity. The service was slow and the welcome was not warm at all. As you look around there wasn’t any other race except for Hispanics, which was confusing because this place is representing an entire different race’s food.
The place has been remodeled and has a better flow. Have never really had any issues before but we did todayGot there around 11:45 and was not busy at all. The hostess immediately sat us but the our server was too just watching basketball on TV to come over to us. The other server was walking around on their phone. We ordered, filled bowls and when received the rice was cold. Would have sent food back but server was not around. While we weree eating was never checked on. For refills we went to the drink machine ourselves.Food was OK, service could have been better.
Great experience! We came to this one to redeem free bowls we were given since they accidentally put an ingredient I was allergic to into my bowl the last time we had gone. We had a waiter named Henry who was so fun and constantly checked up on us. Food was great, they happily applied our coupon, and definitely won back our service. We were just bummed to find out the hazelnut wontons are no longer on their dessert menu! But still, an outstanding experience.
Nice place to enjoy as you choose from a small, medium or large bowl to use. You choose from a variety of meats, seafood, sauces, and spices. You have choice of rice or noodles. Good customer service and they offer a rewards program also. They have cocktail specials that are good and affordable. Nice for families, friends and eating solo. Nice for dating and not very loud atmosphere. Easy to find from street view and free parking. ENJOY!
I went to the Addison location on Thursday Jan 23rd, 2020. I waited about 50 minutes for my food. I Ordered it to go at the bar. When I got my To go order O asked for silverware and napkins. Since they were out of utensils (only had dine in metal utensils), I decided to eat there so I could have a few bites. I always eat my meat first. I absolutely love this restaurant. After Im halfway thru my meal I notice a rubbery taste. My meat is not done. I tell the hostess and she asks what I want her to do. She takes the bowl and re cooks it burning it. I threw it out. She said the manager would be out to talk to me. I waited an additional 35 minutes and no one came by or addressed me. I left my info and no one has contacted me. I’m non confrontational and smiled and treated them well even tho they didn’t show me half the decency. Maybe because I didn’t raise hell they didn’t care. I got sick at work later that day and the following day had to call in after being up all night w food poisoning. I was able to get a picture of the chicken I spit out. I’m very disappointed with the way they are handling this situation.
Waiters fought over who wouldnt wait on us. Waiter went home after bringing us our drinks. Asked for a lemon, waited, then I got up, went to the bar for a lemon, he reached in with his hands to grab the lemons. Rice was old and dry, food was off. I love this place and usually very consistent, its gone way downhill. Asked 3 waiters for a check, finally got managers attention. I thought he was the bus boy. I told him about my experience and compared his manner of dress to how the restaurant was being run. Go anywhere else but here. Food probably not safe.
Had a late dinner on a Saturday night. Place was pretty much empty when we arrived at 9:30 which I was actually pleased to find considering thats usually the biggest concern at Mongolian grills (waiting in line) . That said everything got crusted quickly and it took way too long to get our food. I appreciated that they tried to make it more enjoyable by allowing your to sit down after selecting your ingredients. However I died of my food at the grill and didnt get it back for more than 20min. Average usually seems to be in the 5 min range for any other grill I have been to. The place was clean (booths, tables, restrooms ) however the ingredients bar actually made me apprehensive about eating. You do get a ton of food for the money and it was 50/50 experience taste wise for those in our group. I watched a few drinks come from the bar that made me sad to be the DD for the night. The overall redeeming virtue for me was or waiter (who was also or bartender) he was so polite and helpful. He took the time to walk us over and explain the slightly different process at their grill. He was attentive even though he was the only bartender and handling multiple tables.only because of him I will give Genghis Grill a second try.
We arrived fairly late so there wasnt a lot going on, but it seemed clean and our waitress was very nice. The edamame was odd, but the food was good. The food could have been even better if I was good at constructing it, but that is the craftsman not the tools. There is a handy dandy cheat sheet to help you build it that I missed and cant wait to use on the next visit. My only complaint is just that the building is a little old and run down, but there is not a ton you can do about that. Price was about $30 for two people to eat there.
During the pandemic we are testing a lot of take out. This Genghis Grill in Addison was great for dine in. But our take out was not great. The portions were small (we spent almost $50 for 3 bowls), considerably smaller than the dining-in portions. We all felt the bowls were dry (not enough sauce and no way to order extra) and one of our meals had only about half a cup of rice in it. It was as if they were running out of ingredients. The app is clunky and coupon codes didnt work. wont be eating here for pandemic take out again. Coconut Thai grill is way better if you want a yummy rice/noodle dish to go in that area.
Food was okay made the mistake of sitting at the bar our food server was good but the bartender was more concerned with flirting with a woman at the bar than taking our drink orders the server ended up mixing a drink and admitted she didn’t know what she was doing …this was bay far the worse bartender experience I’ve ever had he literally mixed a few other drinks for other people and didn’t even address our drink orders
Great place to load up on protein.Restaurant appears to be fairly clean although the decor could hide a lot. Wait staff is friendly and sort of attentive but the place is more or less self-service. The grill tenders are far better at dinner than lunch so your meal is not overcooked.A good solid 3 star place, consistently consistent.
The food was great, but the waiter never came to our table to ask have we been helped. He actually walked passed me and my kiddos 3xs even looked out way. Instead one of the sweet waitresses came over and took our order. She was so sweet. And I thank her for her service.
This was my first time visiting this particular location, however I will NEVER be returning. Visited here during my one hour lunch break & service was absolutely horrible. I stood at the door for approximately 10 minutes before I literally walked to the line to get some assistance on getting an actual bowl to make my own. I was then told I could sit wherever I had wanted & even then it took at least another 10 minutes to be asked what I wanted to drink. When I finally received my order, it was wrong. Needless to say by the time I received my order correctly, I had to request to have my order to go because I didnt have time to eat there.
Honestly, over the last couple of months this location has gone to trash. The food area is not clean & everything is sticky. The veggies does not look fresh and when asked if there was anymore seasonings (cayenne & Cajun are my go-to fave!) I was just told “no” with a snooty attitude and the woman just turned around. She definitely gave me a “careless” vibe. This is definitely not how I want to spend my evening after a long day of work. I came to relax and enjoy my food and I got the complete opposite.
Ugh TERRIBLE. I ordered one regular sized bowl TOGO and it took over 40 minutes. And it wasn’t even busy. The manager was cooking and I politely asked him if he knew how long it would be, because I’ve waited over half an hour, and he gave me the rudest look and said he was trying to get it out. Upon watching and waiting an additional 15 minutes, I realized he was laughing and joking with a girl and a kid with no sense of urgency. (They were leaning in over the grill bar, probably his wife/girlfriend and kid.) how ridiculously unprofessional. Will never go to this location again. Staff was rude to.EDIT: Just finally got home to eat. I waited 45 minutes to have my bowl made wrong (I ordered half fried rice/half noodles, there was no rice.) and my noodles to be super under cooked. What a terrible terrible experience.
Got my pickup order wrong and no time to return to get what I ordered. $15 wasted!!!!!! I ordered scallops and not a single piece was in there. None...I started by posting just one star but after thinking about it. I should have called back to let them know. I did not because I knew I had already driven back to office and there was no time left for t them to replace my order. I changed to two stars.
Co-worker and I went for our lunch break. I had never been to Genghis Grill before (I heard excellent things. My coworker was familiar with Genghis Grill just not the Addison location.) We go inside and the lady directs us to the bar location to a very aggressive, unpleasant man which set the mood for our experience. We pay for our food with him and then pick out our food to be cooked. I decided to use the restroom while waiting. The toilets and stalls were filthy and no paper towels were available. We were brought our food by the very aggressive, unpleasant man and left. The food was good but the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. We will not be returning.
Ive been to Genghis Grill before and know how it goes. You get your bowl, you get your own food, you leave it to be cooked and they bring it to you. Our food sat up there until it was barely warm. Wish we had done what another person did and ask if we had to get it ourselves, he got his hot and steamy! Our waiter did not keep up with us to ensure we had a good experience or drinks as we had to ask for more water with our meal. Short version is, this is a poor representation of the franchise as a whole.
This place seems a very dingy place to eat. Not a pleasant experience, it needs renovation. The booth seating material is ripped and cracking, very uncomfortable and gross to sit on. The paint on the window sill is cracking and peeling. The countertops seem old and dated. The lighting is horrible. Its so gross feeling eating there. The staff is ok. The rice couldve been cooked more. I would not eat back at this location until its redone.
Rarely do i get close enough to get the treat to eat at the grill its typically a treat following a medical appointment. Yesterday was one of those so called treats, unfortunately it wasnt a treat as it is normally. With covid concerns, your no longer able to make your own bowl, its made by an attendant.. in this case he chose how much or little of the ingredients i chose, with an end result of my bowl being 70% meat, 20% veggies and maybe 10% udon noodles. The flavor profile also wasnt the way i build my bowl, i like it to be on the very spicy side, this... my grandson could have probably eaten.Additionally, the waiter, spent the whole meal speaking with a few females, one wearing a extremely short dress, who when stood up umm wasnt wearing panties and was proud of exposing herself to everyone in the grill at the time. The host, came to my table and said you wont be charged for the extra entertainment. The grill appeared to be clean but, the male rest room hadnt been cleaned in some time, the urinal horrible, nasty it hadnt been cleaned in months with all the staining. In short. I wont be returning to this location and probably not another grill until covid passes.
Poor service, attitude with customers,Restricting customers from choosing foods.Very bad behaviour of the employee ( Sebastian about 16-18) . Would never go again here and rather will go to arlington gengis grill( i am regular eater at GG) one where they serve really good and excellent customer service.
I used to like going here but i left my wallet one night I went back for it the next day and all my cash was gone from my wallet. I know I had cash cause I got paid Friday 1/24/19 and I went to the grill Saturday 1/25/19 10:45 p.m. Very dishonest person who cleaned the table and got my wallet. No effort in trying to help me. If they have cameras witch they should, cause of the bar. Why not try to help me identify the person who took my money.. I hope it wasn’t my waiter cause I tipped him fairly generously. I just wouldn’t go back after this. Keep your belongings close and or on you. Such a trustworthy place. It just ruined it for me.
Incredibly unpleasant visit. If I’d be able to give this place negative stars I would. My baby, my husband and I went out to eat to this location. We weren’t even able to eat! An intoxicated man came into the location and started an altercation with an employee. Instead of the employee just ignoring or calling the cops he attempted to FIGHT the intoxicated man, he threw glasses from the bar, attempted to throw a bottle, and even jumped over the bar counter. Mind you we were sitting directly behind the bar so any of these items could of accidentally hit my three month old baby. Once the argument turned physical only ONE other employee attempted to stop the altercation. The first opportunity we got to leave we left! We never got our food or anything, it was such an unpleasant experience, NEVER AGAIN!!!
Under staffed and food was bland, I use the same ingredients every time and the flavor is always great, this time I had to go get extra sauce. Our waitress was great, she kept a smile on and did her best to keep up with needs even tho she was clearly in the weeds as was everyone else around her.
Bartender who was our server was great but everything else was awful. Place was disgustingly dirty. Food trays in line were empty, cross contaminated with food everywhere. Cooks burnt one order and added wrong ingredients. Short changed noodles on both orders. Forgot our appetizers until we slid seed something halfway through dinner. Cant stress enough how dirty the place was.
This was my first time at Genghis Grill, and it was awesome! My fiance brought me here for lunch, and we had fun filling our bowls and seeing who could stack their food more efficiently (I won 😄). The environment was really comfortable, the restrooms were clean, and the food was delicious!!
Great selection of options for preparing your own bowl, which they cook to order. If you like Egg with your stir fry, be sure and ask at the grill for how many you want included. Service is always fast and fresh, and delicious. They also have a rewards card, where you can earn free meals,as well as birthday specials, etc. One of my favorite places to go.
Just had dinner here with my husband! Our server (our receipt said Adrain, but not 100% on his name) was also our bartender, and man did he deliver! He was attentive, funny, and a really nice gentleman! They were busy tonight but you wouldn’t judge that based on our quick service, only by the full tables. What a great dining experience.
Horrible service. We came during lunch time. And the wait time for someone to say hello can I help you is horrible wait time. We had to track someone down to get their attention. We finally get bowls and come back and someone else is sitting in our seat. We had to be sat somewhere else. Our waitress is supposed to be Katie. We have seen Katie once. She never approached us to say Hello or I will be with you in a minute.I will never come back to this location. For a place that isn’t that busy during lunch hour the service is absolutely horrible.
Went last night for dinner with family and friend. Food was good. But by the end of the dinner we started to pay and a roach started crawling towards us in the booth...... yeah never again. Told the waitress “ you guys have bugs “ she said “ let me go tell someone “ and never came back to the table.
Pick what you want! Meats, fish, veggies, sauces, seasonings, eggs, and starch. Freshly grilled right before you eat it. I had the blue something drink. It had blue Curacao and vodka in it. That was good. My wife had the mango margarita. That had to much mango, not enough margarita.Overall a great place for reasonably priced food!
I counted 8 people working, we placed our order, got our food together and taken to the grill and THEN got the 2 waters we ordered. A jack and coke, advertised as $5 on their tables while they charge $6, took until after our food arrived cooked on our table(approx 10 minutes). Tables left dirty the whole time we dined. Waitress gave me incorrect change. I will not be eating here again.
I had a really nice experience here. It was my first time here and I was greeted when I walked in and explained how the system works. It was a bit intimidating at first to fill up your bowl, but I got the hang of it. My only suggestion would be to perhaps put up signs giving tips about how to assemble a bowl. Such as, meat to veggie ratios, season your meat before you stack veggies on top, how much sauce to use. I used 2 sauces for a large bowl and I wish I wouldve done 3 or maybe even 4. It was cooked quickly and turned out delicious. A definite fun experience and will be back.
The last 3 times Ive come here the grill never puts the eggs with my order. I know it may sound petty but I paid for something with the intentions on it being correct. So today I specifically told him 2 eggs he wrote the #2 on my paper and circled it. When I got my order no eggs..so the bar tender asked him and he says we dont have any eggs ..why couldnt he have told me that to begin with then they were out of other things as well
Im giving this place 5 stars for this reason. We sat at the bar. The bartender was pushing out drinks, the place is full. He checked on us the right amount of time. As we were leaving, he told us they were shorthanded and he wasnt suppose to be at work. He showed up! Thanks for the great evening.
Terribly slow to get any type of service or even attention when you walk in. Then they take forever to bring you your food. Mine stayed out for 5 min in a bowl before they raised it was a to go order then they hastily the it in a container then let it sit there again for another few min. Previously, they used to over charge me until I called them out on it. Do NOT go here and waste your money or time.
Pretty average experience. The food quality is worth a visit and it is cooked well. The service is very disorganized and inefficient. It would be a much better experience if you could order as you walked in and self serve beverage. There is a lot of waiting around due to the way the establishment is run.
You guys...you seriously need to lower your prices. $9.99 for a small? I was like “okay..that’s a little expensive but maybe they give you a lot of rice or noodles” NOPE. Also why do you guys have servers...? This isn’t really a dine in type restaurant. We’re not reading from a menu and reciting or orders back to our server. Or at least it doesn’t give off that vibe. In total my tab came up to $16...$16!! For one person! That includes the Small, one drink and tip.I can go to chipotle and get a burrito bowl and drink for like $12. And still have left overs! All in all the service was great. Really nice people. But won’t come back due to the insane price for such a small kid sized portion.
I have eaten at other locations of Genghis Grill before and absolutely loved them. This was not the case with this location. On my visit they were out of CO2 for the sodas, which in and of itself is not a big deal however, bringing a flat Coke and telling us after the fact that it was flat and they were aware is not very good service. The bathrooms were in need of a good cleaning as they looked to have been cleaned last during the 90s. Overall cleanliness was less than stellar. The bar for the meat and sauces had a lot of empty bins and some were mislabeled. The food came and was ok, I scored a meatball that I didnt ask for ( YAY) my girlfriend scored a few onions that she didnt ask for ( BOO she hates onions). Overall it was a sub par experience. Next time I am craving Genghis Grill, Ill go to another location.
Do not eat here if you have food allergies! Other GG locations are good about preventing cross-contamination, but not this location.I was very careful in selecting my meat and veggies, informed the cooks of my allergy, and yet I still found it in my food.I will say, the manager did the right thing and comped my meal, since I couldnt eat it and had to go to the hospital. She handled it very well. The cooks, however, could be heard complaining about me from across the restaurant.
I have one word for you: AVOID! After “service” from a waiter that clearly didn’t want to be there my wife got a few pieces of totally UNCOOKED CHICKEN in her bowl!!! Some of my seafood was also pretty chewy and questionable, and now, 5 hours later, we’re totally exhausted sitting straight up on our couch, completely nauseous making the occasional run towards a toilet instead of having a nice date night... my stomach is still turning by the thought of looking at the food. At least the manager was apologetic and offered the “meal” at no charge. With uncooked chicken moved around on the big cooking surface I’m wondering how many bacteria have been spread around different meals this evening!?! The only way to visit this place is with a health inspector!
I freaking love Genghis Grill, and this location is great. I always tell myself I can handle multiple bowls of whatever stir fry concoction I come up with, but I can rarely handle more than one.I love the variety of meats/proteins, sauces, and extras. The services is usually good, and the atmosphere is solid.
Restaurant is bare minimum. Have been to several and this one looks like trash. Ceiling above bar is a free hang, understand that, do not understand why its lower on a corner like its about to fall. Fixtures throughout restaurant are rusty, ex: screws, door handles, food bar.... this is not part of decor, its actual rust. All that was noticed before even being seated. Wife had time to use restroom and return before waitress came to greet us at door. Only 3 tables had patrons of parties less than 3, and 2 people at bar. Now during that time their was 2 employees barback, 4 in kitchen, waitress came from beside bar. And no idea of how many employess in back. Floors sticky throughout the place, tables not wiped down but were clear of dishes. Waitress did not ask if we knew how the store worked or said how it goes after son made comment he never been to one before. Now trays to set your things on by food area were on a storage shelf by kitchen/backroom door that didnt know if were clean, dirty, or stored. Now food was good. Inside and outside store presentations were bad. You just had to know thats what you lookin for. Cleanliness was bad. Store organization was bad. Time to recognize patrons bad. Only good customer service skills was waitress. Cook staff looked lost and disorganized cause they couldnt find oil, pen for writing.
I have ordered my lunch and they never started it. They acted like they didnt care. I told her never mind and I left. Now they have charged me for food I never got and when I called the manager dismissed it. This is the second time they mess up my order first time my appetizer was left out. I will never return to this location the service has gone down such a shame.
This is by far the best experience Ive had at any restaurant. Our server name was Randy, he went above and beyond to give as a wonderful great experience for my family and I. And for that am very grateful. Keep up the great job Randy. We need more people like you in the restaurant business. Once again thank you for your service Randy. I highly recommend anyone to go up there and ask for Randy. He works at the bar so sit at the bar area and you will have a great experience like I had.
I usually love genghis grill but this was my first time going to this location . Me and my co workers put in group order with special instructions on each bowl and me specifily put no meat on my bowl in capital letters. And they messed up my entire office order and put shrimp in my bowl which I cant eat. They said they were going to call me back that day(Friday) and accommodate for their mess up but I still havent heard anything(Sunday Today) . The women at the bar upfront was very nice about it and was trying to be helpful but it just wasnt a good lunch spent there when I ended up waiting an hour. Hopefully this doesnt happen to anyone else, but if you want a group order or if you cant eat meat I dont recommend ordering from this location.
Update: I went back and the service was on point. 5 stars, food was good.Came here for lunch and the servers seemed confused; I was left standing with no direction. 5 minutes later, I was told it was open seating and that a bowl would be brought to me. Another 5 minutes, Im sitting at the table, watching servers walk past with no acknowledgement. I left.
I normally refrain from writing reviews on chains as service and quality may differ from place to place, but I have to mention, Genghis is one of my favorite Mongolian grills. The one on belt line in Dallas has really quick service. they have never burnt my food. Staff have always been hospitable. At the end of the day you simply need to figure out how to mix, match and season your meat and veggies to appreciate a place like this. If it tastes bad, or too salty or spicy or bland, you can only blame yourself. For rookies they have some selection suggestions.I wish the portions were larger though, given the price. I would suggest avoid the noodles/starch, this way all the flavor goes to the meat and veggies. Also stuff your bowl really well. (I personally find the portion size at all Mongolian Grills quite small (considering i ALWAYS GO FOR THE LARGEST BOWL SIZE), but then again everyones appetite differs.
Not the best Genghis Grill around, theyre always missing some sort of vegetable. The booths by the bar are all ripped up and there isnt much room for people on both sides of a booth without people accidentally kicking each others feet and legs. The friendly staff make up for the ripped up decor and missing bits from the make-your-own bowl area. If you can, sit by or at the bar. The bartenders are always great!
I will never be back to this Genghis grill. I am highly disappointed and let down. From the spoiled tasting chicken to the rude service, as well as having my waitress short change me. It may have only been 30 cents but that 30 cents became her only tip from me. As we walked in we were told to sit anywhere. The booth we went to sit at was broken. There were 9 total tables that needed bussed. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.
I usually have a wonderful experience at Genghis. I go to the Addison one since they closed the one in Carrollton off Park. I got home and the fried rice was not soft, various cuts of meat was dry and tough as if overcooked. I did not feel like driving back as I was passing by from work. May give another try, maybe the cook was new or something. 😕
I want to personally thank y’all for taking care of me on today. Great food! But every time I came in they would always have to register my rewards card! To day Austin went in and found my card and was able to fix the solution and I found out I have a couple of rewards. So glad he was able to register my card and figure out the issue behind everything . Thanks Austin! I will surely be returning! :)
This is one of kind of restaurant where you can create your own customised delicious food in all aspects. The food was simply amazing. You can create what portion of what food, spices, vegetables, items u need in your dish.nice seating area with very hospitable staff ready to help you in all aspects for the food.
This place was absolutely terrible. Ordered online so we wouldnt have to wait for our food because we have an infant child. Arrived at the time I was told my food would be ready. I sat there for am additional twenty minutes before the bar tender who was too high to function gave me my food. Only half of it though. Not even reading my receipt or trying to see if there was anything else. Never going to this location again.
Like Genghis since my 1st visit back in florida. Same style. Great service. We are really very much liked the old lady who took care of us. She served noodles for my 4 year kid without any charge. She is really nice. We will see you whenever we back to Dallas again :)
First time customer. Most aggressive server Ive met in years. The guy with dreads. Guy got frustrated when I asked how to order food. I felt rushed. Then he exploded on us for asking to split the check. Please dont come at me with that much aggression. Its scary. Still tipped the guy but wont be coming back. Food was good.
Place is badly in need of a good cleaning and facelift. Everything in the restaurant looks like it hasnt been touched in years. Wait staff is not well trained. For example, they didnt clear the dirty dishes from the table. Food was OK. With so many good restaurants in Addison, I think Genghis days are numbered.
I usually love Ghengis Grill, and havent been in a while so I was looking forward to the food. I went in with two friends and first off it took a long while for us to be greeted by a server! And the one that came over wasnt even assigned to our table, but she noticed that we hadnt been helped. The one that was assigned to us never came to acknowledge us. So we finally get our bowls and get over to choose our ingredients. As soon as I started to put the meat in my bowl we see a roach crawling by meat and veggies!! Needless to say that ended our visit. We did let our server know before we left so hopefully the cleanliness will be addressed.
This is my favorite go to spot when I dont feel like cooking. The gentleman at the bar (forgot his name) is always helpful and always helps me mix my ingredients and sauces together well. They are inexpensive, and you get alot of food for the price. I can never eat it all and always have left overs.
Generally love GG, but this location is awful. Brought my bowl to grill followed two minutes later by a Coworker. His food came out and others did too, not mine. Asked waitress as my lunch was coming to a close, she never gave me an answer. Left hungry and down a whole lunch break. Short staffed and it shows.
Im pretty sure literally every employee in this restaurant was high. Waiter never even gave me water, appetizers didnt come, didnt get egg in the stir fry after ordering it. I dont really do the online review but this is really and truly abysmal restaurant and people need to know. Go to a different Genghis Grill, this one is terribly run.
Dirty. Low standards. Bar tender/waiter had really long dirty finger nails and had his fingers inside my bowl upon delivery. Bathroom was extremely dirty with build-up on the faucet.Food area was very messy and should be checked for bacteria. When I checked the meat after it was prepared, not all of it was cooked properly.I would not recommend this place. Thoroughly disgusted.
Its a small place. There was a very tall Asian perhaps coom that was exceptionally nice and accomodating. I ranked it 2 because our waitress delivered our plate to another table. Walked away. We watched the whole thing (it is a small place). Guy caught her and told her it wasnt his and she picked up the slip and brought us the plate. Now this could have happenned without us seeing and knowing. We refused the plate she tried to rebut but did offer a redo. Took it. Then she over charged for the meals. Only reason 4 the 2 is the cook. Not going back..YOU should be aware and watch your server. Or better yet. Go to a different one.

2022-04-25Delicious 🤤 My boyfriend had never tried out this restaurant, so we decided to give it an opportunity. He was so glad that we stopped at this place! I really enjoyed eating at this location as it was not packed. The food was fresh, and cooked perfectly. The waitress was excellent as well. She was so friendly and attentive to my boyfriend and I. She wanted to make sure we weren’t confused as to how their process worked. We each got the build our own bowl and packed it with chicken, shrimp, sausage, vegetables, sauces and spices, tofu… we just packed the bowl to the brim and enjoyed it with rice and noodles. Definitely recommend this restaurant and this specific location! Thank you!

2022-04-21We went here with coworkers and we thought it was a good experience. This is an Asian fusion restaurant located between Midway and Belt Line. Plate sizes are large, my advice is to go for the small plate as its enough to satisfy a regular customer. I thought it was a bit more expensive than I expected but I guess that you pay for freshly prepared food. The dishes are cooked in front of you but depending on the time of arrival you could have a longer wait. They do have standard dishes if you prefer to have a quicker service

2022-07-12Best food I had while in Dallas. I could pick out all my ingredients and seasonings and when I let the chef know that I had allergies, he was gracious enough to keep my bowl separated from others.Next time Im in Dallas Im definitely visiting this place.

2022-01-07Loved the Mongolian beef stir fry. Hard to find places that are healthy when going out for lunch. Give it a try!

2022-05-26Genghis Grill is worth visiting because its a fun experience in putting your own bowl of food together that the chef will then cook up for you. However, my main purpose for this review is to give kudos to the young lady who waited on my son and I with such a friendly smile and helpfulness. These are the hard-working professionals who make visiting any business an enjoyable and worthwhile experience.

2022-06-14This is a great joint. I love the ability to make your own bowls. The appetizers are also decent ( I recommend the sweet saucy balls or the chicken potstickers). I enjoy the range of meats, fresh veggies, seasonings, and sauces. I personally like their 3G sauce and Sesame sauce- but I like them sweet and cannot handle anything remotely spicy. I think you cant go wrong with the fried rice or udon noodles options. They are good at both dine in and take out and their margaritas are pretty good.

2022-05-23Not very happy when you order a bowl for $20 and you dont even get it half full especially when you dont even order protein with it , which is the most expensive cost to the restaurant.. what a shame I will not be back .

2022-04-06First time I went to this place, no good impressions at all. The restaurant is ridiculously expensive for the type of restaurant that it is. Its almost like a counter/self serve place charging fine dining prices. In addition, the forks they gave us were dirty with rice stuck in between.

2022-03-27I now see why they didnt give us a menu upfront. If we had known the bowls were 19.99 for larges and 12.99 for a small, we wouldnt have even sat down. Drinks are 2.99 and appetizers are 8.99. My table of 5 cost $121 for three larges and two small bowls. Weve always eaten this same way when we came to genghis so we were incredibly shocked at the bill.I understand inflation but Genghis should be more upfront with price increases. Seems underhanded. No need to respond GG.
