Genie Car Wash in Austin
Genie Car Wash in other cities:
I had not been here in years. When I used to lease automobiles, instead of purchase, Genie had a contract with leasing company for free car washes, etc. I washed my car every week. It has changed. Doesnt look like same place. Equipment in the wash tunnel needs updated or replaced. Had to get the beach off of and out of my current auto and didnt want to go a long way. Well, my auto is clean and looks 1000 percent better, but I fear it cant compete with other car washes I have been to.
Horrible car wash service. When I went the fist time, I requested the basic service for $12.99 and vacuum inside, I wasnt expecting much due to the price I paid, but honestly it was a lot worse. Not only they didnt remove my matts to vacuum they left footprints all over them. They didnt wipe the inside and didnt vacuum properly. I had to ask them if they had actually cleaned the inside.I went a second time paid $35 ($39.99 plus tax and $5 tip) for the executive package. Worst decision ever, again they didnt remove my matts to vacuum, they didnt wipe the inside properly, all they did was vacuum wherever they thought I would notice I guess. My car once again looked the same from the inside. So pretty much I got a basic service for $45 bucks. NO THANKS. Save your self the trouble and dont waste your money in this place.
I went there asking for a basic car wash, which was advertised as $17. The guy said well get it nice and clean . Good stuff, i thought, until they ringed me up inside with $39 for the executive wash.Ive never asked for this, i have never agreed to this. When i got it back, it was cleaned mediocre at best. Had to point out a dozen dirty spots and the best result was the picture below.Overall very disappointing quality and a sleazy upsell.
I love having a clean car. So naturally, I purchased the 1 year pass with Genie. I have gone religiously every Saturday or Sunday for the past 8 months. However, I can’t do it any more. Even though I have another 4 months left on my pre-paid car wash pass, I am going to Arbor car wash instead. To explain...The service is good when you first pull up. They get your car wash requirement and then immediately start vacuuming your car. But then, they drive your car around and put it in the line with the others. This is where the problem occurs. They have 10+ people working at any given time and 8/10 workers are not doing anything. It appears as though the 8 workers have not been directed to a single task to help speed up the line of cars that builds up.So I wait roughly 1 to 2 hours to get my car clean every time. I wish I was exaggerating but today I sat there for an hour and they hadn’t even started on my car. I sat outside and watched the workers stand around and look at each other. I finally left and have given up on Genie. The reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because once they wrap up cleaning your car, they do an okay job. The only complaint I have about the actual wash is I have to ask them to take out my rubber floor mats to clean them or they won’t do it.Overall, I wish I could get a refund! I will never go back to Genie.
This was the worst car wash ever. If it had only been $12.99 I Wouldnt be so mad. But I added the executive wash to the package and for $35 expect that all parts of my wheels would be clean, the bugs would have been removed from my front of my car, my windshield would be clean, and that they would vacuum underneath the floor mats, etc. Parts of my car look good but the rest is not acceptable. There must not be any supervision. Im very disappointed.
Just wanted to warn everybody of this awful service. I would understand if I paid $5-$20, but I DID NOT! I PAID 90.00!!!!! This is extremely frustrating and a complete waste of time. Left my car at 5pm and didn’t get it back until 6:30pm. I was told it would be ready at 6pm. I was told my trunk would be cleaned and they didn’t even touch it. I am going to try to speak with management tomorrow to request a partial refund or a do over. I am not satisfied!
BUYER BEWARE! No wonder they are going out of business. They upcharged $95 for a minivan and left several untreated areas and dirt they didn’t bother removing. Additionally they made me wait 8 hours for this horrible work despite me being the first appointment of the day. Too many complaints. I should have taken advice from friends about these morons. Their car wash is incredibly outdated and a running joke “since 1968”. Go elsewhere. They are a dying franchise and it shows! Good riddance!
Got my car DETAILED here. Nice friendly staff, took the car right away, kept it a couple of hours, called me when it was ready, as promised. They did a pretty good job. Shampooing got most stains and dirt from the rugs, although some stains on the seats didnt come up (fortunately, I was able to get those with a quick sponging). The interior was decent but there was some loose stuff on the carpets that the vacuum missed, and there was still a little residual crud in the armrests and a couple other places. The windows were fairly clean, only a few streaks, except they didnt get the bits at the top where the window goes into the door. The outside was kind of disappointing. Lots of bugs were still plastered on the outside. Im pretty sure they just sent the car through the automatic car wash and didnt do much else. They waxed - hope those bugs arent sealed onto my car now. But hey, these issues are minor DETAILS. (note the irony). Im glad my car is pretty clean. I think it was a good job for $100, maybe $120. But I paid $169.99.
I paid for a full service wash and express detailing for $89. They did a terrible job, still had marks on my windshield and the body of my car. The guy told me they could get all the spots off with a premium detailing for an extra $300 however if I paid on the spot they could get them off for an extra $200. These guys are shady and a rip off. Very disappointed - Id avoid at all costs.
I asked for an exterior wash and inside vacuum- should have been around $18. Instead, I was billed for an “executive” wash which is the most expensive of the three regular car wash options- $38. I’m sure the guy submitting the ticket gets a commission, so watch out- they will try to sell you way more than you ask for. When I complained to the young woman at the register she did take $5 off my total, but I will not use this car wash again.
The quality of the wash, wax and interior detail was second to none. Excellent customer service from start to finish. Fair pricing. They are even so dedicated to making sure you are happy with the wash they take you around your car to see all the hard work that was done. I would HIGHLY recommend this car wash. I bought my car new back in 2015 and when the gents here were done with it, my car looked like it just rolled out of the show room. Will be back. Thanks to everyone there for the amazing work.
BEWARE. You will pay for a hand wash 6 month pass BUT they will “accidentally” put your car through the machine wash. My car has never had a machine wash since I bought it years ago until today. Incredibly disappointed in this Burnet location Genie Car Wash. Do not turn your back on where your car is IF you are here.
I had a mixed experience here. Typically I do work on my car myself, as it is an older specialty model. Hesitantly, I decided this past weekend to take it in to Genie for a wash and wax because they seemed to offer good quality work and hand-waxing. Ending up being very pleased with the result. The bill was only $99 for wash and wax. My car looked beautiful and I could tell there was a solid coat of wax all over. The very friendly technician who looked over the car with me enthusiastically did the very few needed touch-ups and even shared that included with the detail service, I could bring in my car for free within three days if it rained to have it rewashed. It did rain the following day, so I took the car in for my free wash. The wash wasnt free. The cashier rudely said it was on my receipt that it was $2.93 for the Rain Check wash. I understand that this was only a few dollars, but I had already given them quite a bit of business a few days before and had been told that it was going to be free. Almost immediately, another person at the counter paid for my bill. (He seemed to be an employee) He proceeded to ask who told me it was going to be free. I gave him the best description I could, and he said it would be coming out of that employees paycheck. The cashier scoffed and gave me my receipt. A few short minutes later my car came out of the wash and the attendant very quickly gave it to me, without finishing drying the exterior or taking it to their finishing station.Overall this was very disappointing. Set a poor tone for my day. Being a business owner myself, I know that $3 is VERY little to make your customer happy. On the side of if the employee was wrong or phrased it incorrectly so I misunderstood him: a liability of having employees is that they are human, are going to make mistakes, and will cost you money as they learn. It appears that this business main goal is their bottom line, and not their customers satisfaction or their quality of service or even loyalty to their employees. I will not be returning.
Genie Car Wash is the best in town. I checked Good quality because thats what I look for, thats what I have to have, but wait... this Genie Car Wash is also a good value, the staff is friendly and professional, and I never have to wait too long! Win, win, win, win.The quality is excellent every time! Ive been to all the car washes in town and Genie is my favorite. I just bought my daughter a years pass for Mothers Day and she was THRILLED!
Got a free car wash coupon for my birthday through five stars! This place is a bit dated with decor - but we did not come to stare at the walls. We came for a free car wash and wow..what an amazing job they did.We just got the basic as it was the freebie one for my birthday. The customer service was outstanding and the detailed attention they provided cleaning our car just for the basic wash was fantastic and above expectations! If this was the Basic - well, I can only imagine the quality for the higher priced services. We will be back for sure - thank you Genie staff - you rock!***UPDATED REVIEW 7/2017***The freebie car wash I got for my birthday was much better than this visit. I got the Phils Special which includes vacuuming the interior - they missed the entire back. The wash and wax left spots all over my car and it just wasnt even worth the special price I got for the wash - not sure if I will be going back.
Horrible first time experience$34.99 for what?I had to ask the dude to give me the wet cloth to finish the job.... should PAY ME to wash my own car, should’ve seen the reviews and best believe i will make your company and the address in Austin aware of how HORRIBLE the wash wasI have pictures, already send an email to corporate and will continue doing it
Fist off I’d like to say I had absolutely no issue with how my car was presented or taken care of. The young blonde detailer you had was very well spoken and treated my vehicle in a timely fashion. I would like to express that I think I tipped in the wrong box...it’s honestly hard to tell the difference. I like giving the people who worked on my car a tip not everyone else. That should be changed!!!! Not only for the confusion but just I tip extra for the worker not for people who don’t even touch my car. I
Received very good costumer service. The associate/manager greeter us well, including our dog. Very dog friendly business which its always a plus. Got a good value for what I paid for, cashier included double air freshener instead of one. (Gray Honda Civic with pyppon wheels).
I went to Genie because I found a really good deal on Groupon. I pulled in and was greeted pretty quickly. I decided on the wash I wanted and left my car to go in. The wait was very long. (They were busy) It seemed as though there were short staffed. The waiting area is in need of a really good update. The couches were in such bad shape you would not want to sit on them and no one was using them. My car was cleaned and dash wiped down. I dont think Ill buy another car wash because if the wait time and unpleasant wait area.
Price vs quality of work is not warranted. Employees attitudes are terrible. I had to ask for a rag to wipe down the interior of my car. My floor mats and air freshener were tossed in my back seat that still had dog hair all over it. The manager offered to run my car through or refund me. You would have to pay me to have the same employees touch my car again. There are plenty of other car washes in town. No need for me to come back.
I used the self serve car wash today. 3 of the bays were closed down for not functioning. My bay was open, however the power soap nor the spot free rinse functions were working. The facility is old. There is no way to pay by card like some other washes offer. There is an atm inside the service area so you can get cash, but you must exchange for smaller bills in order to get your coins. Badly needs renovating.

Not Happy with the Service I received for the price I paid! Dont know what happened today but a few yrs back I would only use this Burnet rd. location. Because it was Great Quality work for the price you paid. I bought the Full Service wash with Express detail. My floor and seats look like they have not been vacuumed, the outside of my Car was still Dirty! The guy from the detail crew did a great job on the dash and doors! I had him go over the Dirty spots that were left on the outside from the wash crew Overall Im a very unsatisfied Customer! Will not be using their Services anymore!
2 star because for the price they charge for mediocre service and final finish. This place been around for years and sad to say they lost their touch and integrity for greater Austin area. I see why when customer go to pay they have a sign that says all sale are final. No refund. If I were to recommend this place, i would say drive a little further down the road or to another car wash. This place had gone so far south of the border.
After my first ever Tinder date with a twenty-something year old fiery redhead on her birthday she proceeded to launch the contents of her margarita filled stomach out in my two-month old F-150. So much for that new car smell. Genie Car Wash was the only place that could help me out and I bought a year membership on the spot and am now in my second year. Getting in a newly cleaned truck is a lot like getting a fresh shave and a haircut; it feels good to look good and its always classier when its clean even when your an old rocker like myself... Thanks guys!
Worst Genie car wash ever! The parking lot is horrible and falling apart. Looks like a dump. The one in South Austin is so much better. My car wasnt clean at all. Inside or out. Wouldve gone back to have them run it through again, but didnt have time. Was so very disappointed.
More or less the same results as a $16 drive-thru car wash for $30+, except someone just vacuums and towel dries for you. Interior was somehow more cleaner than exterior of my vehicle. Might come back if I dont have time to do a wash myself, otherwise, Id save my $20+ and do the small deets myself.
The detailed car wash wasn’t so detailed! ...The edges of the seats were not cleanedThe inside of doors and trays were not cleanedThe sun blinders were dirtyFor areas that was cleaned the quality wasn’t so good either. In general, won’t recommend and the service did not worth $139.
I think the secret here is to go for the higher priced services. Their basic washes have never really impressed me, but I got a Groupon and so got the VIP wash with leather option. I was very pleased with the way the car came out. Ray Ray went the extra mile and also gave me a good rundown of all they did and took care of the little things I had lost in the cracks and crevices if the car. Not sure Id go back just for a car wash, but if Im looking for another detail wash this will be the first place I come.
As much as I want to give this place a higher rating, I just cannot. The reason being that they seem to consistently push you to get a service you did not ask for. I went in the VIP wash service (which is about $55) and they tried charging me for an interior detail at $169. I had to argue with them to change it and they were adamant about adjusting the service, which is ridiculous because the interior details is not what I asked for in the first place. Another poor experience is when my girlfriend went there and once again they attempted to push her into a service she did not ask for. The vehicles came out very clean and they did a great job, but the customer service is very poor. Beware of the upselling.
This is not the point because all cars are priceless to their owners but -- I brought my new very expensive car there for a first time hand wash totally unsatisfied. There were dudes just standing around perhaps they were all on a break? Before they even washed it they also tried to hard sell me on a long-term yearlong wash contract for a couple of hundred dollars. The car was still dirty when it came out and I had to go wash it again in my own garage immediately afterward. Thank goodness I said I would think about it and only signed up for the 15 dollar wash. I wish I had read these reviews in advance.
Review is based only on the self service wash. Theres few self service washes around this part of town. This one needs some updates: no credit card reader in the wash bays, lengthy time to switch wash modes (soap/rinse/wax/spotless rinse), some bays seem to have low pressure. It can get a little sketchy past dark.
I would never recommend coming here, my dad used to love going here and I would go because he always said they did a good job. Now that car washes are a dime a dozen in this city, this place needs to step it up and quit treating you like trash and your car like trash. This place is a time suck, you think there is no one there and look at the lines on both sides yet it will take an hour to get your car washed. They go through the motions of cleaning your car but your car is not really clean after all that wait. They dry your car with towels that fall on the ground, therefore scratching you car. You are better off with a drive thru gas station car wash, and that isnt saying much. They have this punch card for each wash you get, yet its inconsistent when people punch and or sign the card. My dad went and used it and they called him a fraud, how dare they care him a fraud when he has been going there for years. Maybe they should have a more consistent reward program or consistency with how they sign the cards.I will never recommend this trash of a car wash and terrible customer service for how they treat loyal customer. Disrespectful to you and your car.
Genie Car Wash always does an excellent job. They have different levels of detailing, different levels of washes, and attentive staff. They have a fairly comfortable waiting area, as well as viewing area so you can watch your car go through the entire process. When your car is finished being detailed they are quick to let you know.
If youre looking for a car wash where you pay for your car to be cleaned, but it remains as dirty as when you brought it in, this is the place for you! As a bonus, theyll even leave a wet and soggy towel used to dry the car in your passenger seat floor in case you really wanted a moldy smell in your car. When you ask the worker to please remove the marker used to indicate the wash you paid for on the interior of your windshield, hell glare at you angrily like asking for something to be wiped away is a chore. Maybe thats why they left the dirty and wet towel in my car? Listen, you get what you pay for, but I would have at least preferred a somewhat clean car and the seats vacuumed. Had I not noticed the wet towel, my car would have developed a disgusting mold smell. This type of service is absolutely repulsive. When I emailed the business, I asked for a refund because all I received was water splashed over my car. I didnt hear back, of course. Please avoid this place like the plague.
Been here at this location 3x now. Ticket writer Not friendly and inside sales not much better. I paid for a deluxe car wash and didn’t receive it. The inside sales told me it wasn’t a big dealBecause there wasn’t really much of a difference. Think I’ll give Mister car wash a try. I purchase yearly passes usually.
My previous experiences with Genie have always been okay, but after today, Ive decided to look for another place. First off, I asked for a Managers Special car wash which is $24.99. I asked for my dash and doors to get a good wipe down with some armor all, which in the past was included with the $24.99. Saw my ticket that said $39.99. I accepted that as extra. Stood in the line to pay that took forever and the girl totaled it out to $59.98? What? Then she said its the Express Detail thats $39.99 plus the wash. Told her thats not what I wanted and she handed the ticket back and said, you have to go back and tell him. Of course, my car has already been through the wash and the line is now an extra mile long. Poor customer service and was not worth it. Never will go back again. Genie might do well if they hired a counter girl that had a higher IQ than my 5 year old and knew the meaning of customer service.
Very disappointed. I bought a $309 car wash and detail, and not only did it take them over 4 hrs when they said it would be 3, but door jams were not cleaned at all, and wheels were not even touched. Even the front bumper looked like it was hardly touched. I could have said something while there, but I couldn’t wait any longer. I would recommend taking somewhere else.
I have taken my small Fiat there 3 times. First time, the inside of the windows were not clean at all. I also had white residue on my doors and seats. Second time, the inside of the windows were dirty as if they used a dirty super wet towel and left the job undone. Third and last time was a few days ago and I am still trying to figure out how they can employ so many incompetent employees. I figure, the car goes through more than one person. My little Fiat which should be easy and fast to clean, was left with lots of dirt. Around the license plates was still dirty, the bottom bumper of the sides was still dirty. The windows were not as clean and clear as you would expect. I dont normally write reviews and I hate to see a business getting so many bad reviews, but how can you try to improve something if you are not aware of the problem? Good luck!
NEVER AGAIN! i got $26.99 car wash and gave $10 tip(yes, I regret it.). I gave $36.99 and got this: They didnt vacuum inside the car. They didnt dry the door jambs and i warned them to do it. My car had a mud spots after car wash at the rear bumper. Rims was not cleaned at all. i had water marks on windshild 5 min after they wiped it. What kind of car wash was that?
Hi All,I have been to Genie on Burnet road Austin Tx yesterday(7/28/2019). This is the WORST experience I ever had to get my car cleaned and pay 60$ for it.I went for the VIP car wash(60$) which includes almost everything(wheel cleaning dressing, coat protectant, underbody spray, clean dashboard, velocity wax). Its not worth it at all.. the underbody spray doesnt work and the guy(named: PJ) was rude when asked about it - I neither got a refund nor another service to compensate that. And the cleaning was horrible(vaccuum was not done and car was not wiped down properly). I had to talk to the management to send back my car for 2nd wash immediately which was not upto mark.WORST SERVICE EVER!!
They asked me to move and leave the line after waiting for at least 20 minutes, although Im paying for the wash. Very poor costumer service. So much for a VIP account. Most of the people there are really good and do a great job otherwise I wouldnt be going there everyday. Today I got a super rude experience and that is not how I believe I should spend my money to be treated like that.
I went to Genie car wash yesterday. The man who was supposed to write up the tickets was busy talking to a friend. He kept talking for 5 minutes while many drivers sat and waited for him to give them a ticket. Two of the employees tried to get him to come back to work but he just yelled at them. When he finally came to my car I let him know that I didnt appreciate that he put his social time above his customers. He told me to have a nice day. I went inside to wait for my car. Thirty minutes later I look to find my car. It is still sitting at the vacuums. He was punishing me as a woman for calling him out on his unprofessional behavior. I asked to talk to the Manager. He didnt offer to intervene He told me to Have a nice day. I just asked for my money back and left. The message I received was clear- women who complain to male employees will not be tolerated.
You couldn’t pay me to come wash my car here again. Literally every part of their self service car wash was having issues. If you don’t simply lose your money to their machines, you will leave with a car that looks worse than when you arrived. They need to close the self service portion of their business down.
Do not take your car here for a detail job if you want it done right. They do not pay attention to the details at all but still charge premium pricing. I paid for the interior/exterior and tire detail package plus a wax job. I dont even think they vacuumed or even wiped the inside of the car before putting the coating on the upholstery and they left some white residue in the creases of my drivers seat (I have an all black interior). Tires/rims looked good and the exterior was decent but I still had to point out a few places for them to get. In my opinion, very over-priced for what you get. Probably still a decent car wash if you are just looking for a basic exterior wash but I would not recommend anything above the basic wash though.
I decided to pay extra for hand wash and wax. The end result was horrible. Large parts had been missed with cleaning. Every one of the rims looked like they never never got touched. Between wiper and hood did not get cleaned post rinsing. Which left some dirt to remain. What makes even worst is the price.
What did I just pay $40 for and a $5 tip? My mats are still dirty. My rims are not clean. Smudges all over my windows. Never coming back. I should have read all the reviews before handing over $45. Note to the manager... Please dont respond to my review. Spend that time hiring some quality individuals.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE, READ THE REVIEWS. I supremely wish I had read the reviews before I took my Rav4 here and left with buyers remorse. The following are my issues with this place:1) Way over priced ($150).2) Poor quality of work (missed a lot of obvious things).3) Dishonest (stole money out of my car).I took my car to get detailed, $150 dollars later and I regret that decision. For detail work they somehow missed to clean around the car emblem, my backup camera screen is covered with a greasy film, and there is lint/ dust all over the keys. On top of all of this, when they moved the spare change in my cup holder around to clean around it, somehow all of my quarters went missing. It may have only been 3 bucks, but that is not theirs to take and certainly not a worthy tip for their shoddy work.If you have a groupon for them, and just want a quick run through the car wash, great. Do not expect anything else and certainly dont let them inside your car.
My husband took the SUV in after a spill. They quoted him one price (already high price) to detail the vehicle. Then when he went to pay it was $100 over what was quoted and they said it was harder to get the stain out than they thought. Then they tried to high pressure sell him on a $600 service contract. Unethical practices. STAY AWAY!!!
I would have rated WORST if that option is available. Genie car wash might be a familiar name but their services are one of the worst. My friend already warned me but thinking it might not be that bad, I took a chance but I really regret now, that, should have listened him. It was the worst experience . Completely unsatisfied. Spent $140 for a Car wash and Detail services worth less than $30 or nothing. I would neither recommend nor visit Genie car wash ever because:1. Passenger side car wash Cleaning Brush does not work.2. Exterior wash does not clean the places near side mirrors, places near wiper blades, corners of windshield, roof and rims thoroughly.3. My car was already very clean (therefore $140 for me, so, expect more than atleast $150 for clean and much more if worse) but the Interior detail is not at all a detail. They just did superficial touch ups with shiny liquids. Door pockets were not cleaned. Applied protectant directly on dust without cleaning the dashboard. So, all the dust along with liquid got accumulated on the side lines and corners and became dirty greazy. Only my driver side foot area had Carpet dust but the carpet shampoo/ vacuum did not remove completely.4. I dont know much about waxing but some places waxing was done on dirt since car wash was not that clean and some places it was not done thoroughly.5. And last but not the least, do not forget to collect all the car accessories like mats.. they forget to return. for me first they denied they dont have any but later gave.Briefly, i would have cleaned my car better than what they did with the money i paid besides I would have bought a personal hand vacuum, waxing/buffing machine and many other accessories.
Trust the reviews! I didnt and I regret not listening to them. I was super-disappointed. This is a new car to me and Ive been super clean with it, but after all these rainy days I wanted to give it some extra TLC. I left part of a wrapper in there on the middle console just to kind of see would it still be there when I got in - and it WAS! I have weather-tec mats and theres only 2 inches of carpet exposed and there was still dirt in the carpet. The gear shift console area had not been wiped down. And, there was obvious water marks on the outside back fender and rear window. After pointing this out to the guy - he said it was hard water and I must park by a sprinkler. I said I dont and why isnt that on more of the car then? Anyways, I could go on. I feel like I could run through the HEB carwash and get better results than I did today for almost triple the cost had I just gone to HEB and not have my interior vacuumed out either. Boo. Sorry Mr. Cleveland. I saw your responses on the other reviews so thats what led me to give them a try, but I now see they were right.
They were so rough with my car, the right front doors rubber (the grip on the lower part of the door) was left hanging & my all floor mats were not placed back properly & theyre kind off broken now, which is really sad. Its really bad, I still have 60$ worth of car wash still left & I dont feel like using it 🙁
I had a 10 year old Kia Rio that was in terrible shape because it had never been cleaned (I’m not a good car owner). I spoke with Vidal on the phone and he helped me the next day when I brought it in for interior detailing. He was extremely friendly and helpful. When I came to pick the car up, I was blown away, I legitimately thought it was beyond cleaning and was forever going to be a wreck, but lo and behold, I had what appeared to be a brand new car in front of me. A very talented man named Michael handled the detailing single handedly, and I cannot thank him enough for his talents. I still find it hard to believe how beautiful it came out of that place. This was money well spent, and if you choose Genie, ask for Michael because he works absolute magic. I will never go anywhere else for a cleaning.
95.00 for car wash and detail, the wash was horrible you can see all the water marks all over the body and windows, the detail they didnt do what they said the were going to do, I talk to them and pointed this out to the personal and still they looked at one more time and gave it to me not how I wanted. The only thing they did good was cleaned the seats very good but over all service I would recommend them.
Not sure why there are so many one star reviews. We went there today and our experience was positive. The person who hand waxed our car spent time to do it right and very polite. Wash and wax job looks good. One thing is they seems not following whats on website, the guy over there decides what and how much.
I have had mixed experiences here. Sometimes my car is pristine and it is under 30mins other times I have waited over an hr and there are water spots or the inside is not as clean as it should have been. They keep offering groupons though and I keep buying them because each wash still comes out cheaper than the drive thru ones and for the most part my car comes out cleaner. My only gripe is the upselling, especially when you show you have a groupon and the sometimes ridiculous wait times. Also, I wish they had a better announcement system to let you know your car is done.Upside, they have a comfortable seating area and free wifi so I have learned to just come with my ipad and make the most of my wait time.
I came to this location because I was on this side of town. Service was horrible! No soap was added only water & spin bushes were working. One of the employees sat in my car and let 5 other cars go ahead. Spoke with cashier about the soap not working, she tells me she can send it back through & thats about all she can do. Ask for manager Patrick he basically tells me the same thing. He later came back after checking the machine, he tried to get me to go back through I didnt have the additional time to spend waiting again. I will never come back to this location. South location is much better.
I paid 36 $us for an exclusive car wash package. They supposed to wash the exterior and wipe the interior + vacuum+ oil product . After the car wash service my car was equally but with some cheap oil on it . They didnt even wipe the interior with water or a clean wiper! They just put the oil on top of the dirt.I would not recommend this place at all.
I took an 08 Dodge Caliber here yesterday to get the interior thoroughly detailed. It was gifted to me from my grandfather since he recently bought a new car. The inside was ungodly filthy. I felt terrible for brining it in and wouldnt have blamed anyone who had the misfortune of being the first one in that car to clean it if they had quit on the spot! It took nearly all day (understandable given its state), but my goodness. I cant even believe its the same car now. The passenger seats were badly stained and they got them looking like-new again. All of the hard to reach crevices and nooks were cleaned beautifully. When I finally got to see the car and sit in it for a second, I wanted to hug that guy! Definitely coming back in the future.
Bought a detail package on Groupon, glad I did because o wouldnt have paid full price for the job done on my Jeep. No detail at all in the work that was out in on my Jeep...very sloppy & things missed.I will not be returning for future service. Ill find someplace that can get the job done right the first time.
Good job, PJ and crew, I have no complaints to this 209$ wash/wax/interior clean. Letting it dry now. It wasnt a blow me out of the water deal, but my expectations were met. Being a first timer at Genie, I can say it might help to post more details in the waiting area about the VIP stuff. I have to say, I chose Genie over Mister Car Wash because of the managers (Terrance) relentless follow ups on here and other review sites. Sure seems customers matter.
I usually don’t write reviews, but my experience with Genie was SO BAD that I was compelled to do so.I pulled in and was the second car in my lane. That meant about 4-5 cars in front of me.Well, after 25 minutes, my car had not gone INTO the wash. I inquired, but was told that this was normal – it was in line in the order I pulled in. Complete BS.It finally did get washed, and then it sat in the drying lane for another 25 minutes. It “air dried” by the time they got around to “drying” it. The process of doing the final “cleaning” by drying was lost as it was bone dry before someone attended to it.Then they did a poor job wiping it down. There were many, many areas in cracks and corners which were still dirty. I had to come home and complete the job I paid them for.I tried to complain to the manager (on the wait to get into the wash and then the fact they didn’t wipe it down while it was still damp), but he could care less. After spending $25 and over an hour, it will be my last time visiting the Genie chain. Stay Away!
Normally a great place to get your ride lookin good. BUT, last time i was there they only had 3 guys drying all the cars. It was very busy and lot of cars backed up. My truck had already dried by the time they got to it. Truck had Lots of water marks they didnt bother to wipe off.
This muddy footprint was on the inside of my door AFTER they charged me for a more expensive wash than what I asked for. I asked the dryer to clean it off. This is what it looked like AFTER he “cleaned” it. The only thing they have going for them is a North location. But it’s worth the drive to have a better experience. Won’t be going back.
Spent $120 on a car detail and was very disappointed. It was a raining day, so there was no need to rush as no one was waiting behind me. Specifically wanted tires and rims cleaned and only tires were done. Also, noticed that only the tops of the leather seats were armor alled. Basically they did an okay job, but did not pay attention to details like cups holders or handles. Will not use again.
Dont go here. Paid $18 for a wash and vaccum. Save your money and go to a gas station car wash. Its the exact same. I could have done a better job had I gone to a self serve. On top of that service was very rude and made me uncomfortable (i.e. guys looking at me in ways I did not enjoy and making comments towards my looks). Needless to say I wont be back
How did I have a gift voucher for over 300$ and still have to pay over 100$. Do not tell anyone but the person at the register that you have a voucher or the price will go up accordingly. The person that did detail the car did very well though even though he forgot my radio antenna and I had to drive back about 30 min to get it.
Very disappointed. I paid for a VIP which is just below their detail services figuring that it would be fine for now. What I did not realize was that in this case VIP stands for Very Incomplete Process. The one star is because they used water... dirty water, but water none the less. The windshield wasnt even cleaned well. I would take it back but I dont have that kind of time. I need to find some place that can get it right the first time.
Genie carwash is a good place to go if u want a well job done. the only thing about the carwash is that you would want the right person on your car. if not you will have to take it back to get it re-done again so i suggest that when every customer goes there ask for the best employee that will do their best on it. Terrence is the manager that i prefer that all customers talk to if you guys have any questions or any problems about the job being done.
I had came to get a Wizards touch detail package which on the website was 89.99 but was told it 119.99 because I had a large car. I drive a Mazda 3 is classified as a compact car. The customer representative was rude and tried to justify the price increase by comparing our car to a Suburban. I understand a full size SUV takes more labor and time to clean but a Mazda 3 is not a large. It is a compact car. He then told said that anything larger than a coupe justified the price increase. A 30% price increase for a compact car is unreasonable. The customer representatives rudeness and combativeness was unnecessary and unwarranted.
This is the absolute least maintained car wash in austin. I went there to wash my car myself. First, there is only one bay with a working light at nighttime. Half off the bays had cones in front of them indicating they were closed, I assume. I start to wash my car, and as soon as I turn the soap brush on I get showered with soap from the broken line above me. Its 37 degrees and windy. I finished out my time and moved my car to the next (dark) bay to the left to soap brush it. I get $1.25 put in and the machine stops accepting my money. I put in a few more quarters to try to get it to turn on, nope. I go to the bay to the right of me and someone has broken into the coin machine. I can go to any other self wash in austin and get a better wash experience than this. Its pitiful. I can only imagine what terrible dirty rags they would use to hand wash my car.
I should have listened to the other reviews but was wooed by a coupon and its location to come get my car washed. It took FOREVER. So unless you have an hour at least to spare, skip it or wash your car yourself. I waited inside for 45 minutes then decided to go sit outside. I saw my car seating at the end of the line with the doors open and no one working on it. After 20 minutes I went and asked what was taking so long and they said it was done and they had called 3 times. Thus, it must have been done while I was inside and didnt let the woman inside know or something. Regardless, horrible service and the car was no where near as clean as it should have been. awful.
This car wash is close to my house, but the machines to doit by your self are expensive and they havent a credit card payment, they have just accepted quarters. Also the vacuum are even more expensive because the time it is too short, in fact in other car wash the vacuum is free after you have cleaned your car.
Took my car in today around 2, the guy asked if I wanted the carpets vacuumed and shampooed, so I said OK. He wrote up the ticket and handed it to me and off I went to get some lunch at El Mercado and waste some time while they washed my car.I got back and waited another couple hours...my car was finally done around 5. I went to the cashier and she said thatll be 479 bucks...when I picked myself up off the floor, I realized Id signed off on some super deluxe treatment. My fault for not reading the ticket more carefully, I guess, and Ill take my lumps and pay for my mistake in communication. However, for $400+, they could have driven my car to the door instead of making me walk to the shop area, and they could have had my floor mats back in the car instead of making me ask for them (they were/are sopping wet, by the way.) . And they certainly could have done a better job of wiping up whatever greasy product they had spattered & streaked all over my dashboard, and also getting up the few spatters of sick on the passenger side floor and back seat (blowback from driving home an ill person a while back, nothing huge, just a few drops)...and, yes, I found streaks and dirt encrusted here and there in little grooves, not to mention a few coffee grounds and wetness inside my cup holders. The final insult to the injury is that they broke my license plate frame. It was just a cheap plastic from Apple leasing where I got my car, but STILL. (apple leasing is great, BTW)An expensive lesson in miscommunication, and I definitely did NOT get my moneys worth, for all that.Incidentally, my cars 20,000 mile service is due at the dealership, and guess what? Its going to be a LOT less than almost $500, to service the IMPORTANT parts of my car. What an unbelievable rip.
Terrible. Absolutely terrible. I checked the ratings of this place before we came and thought how can you screw up a self serve cat wash? I found out that answer when we got here. Its expensive, the sprayer and soap brush were old and leaking, and there are nests of pigeons everywhere. Did I mention this place is terrible? As soon as we finished rinsing the car a pigeon crapped on it. Dont ever come here. If you do and you have read this review consider yourself forewarned.
WARNING STAY AWAY! This place seriously charged me well over 200 bucks to shampoo my carpets. The kept my car for 3 hours and did not wash it, no armor all, no cleaning the windows, no cleaning anything! When I demanded my money back they only gave my a partial refund! 45 bucks for a 3 hour carpet shampoo!LOOSERS! Stay AWAY!
Omg, HORRIBLE!! Dont go here...ever. been here since 1pm, it is now 545pm!! And dont let the ass hats in the parking lot talk you into free glass repair, they cracked the windshield on an 8 month old car and said it was not their fault because it was already Broken ,first off if they had even hinted that could happen I would never have let them touch the car!!! And second a free fix is now going to cost almost 200.00 and that is at cost. Seems to me like someone is just trying to scam people into paying way to much for a half ass cleaning and detail just to get rooked into having to replace some auto glass too because of untrained, inept, employees that dont know how to disclose possible damage to your vehicle as as result of their free service. Got the car back after six still filthy.
I just brought my car in for a regular wash I was charged Ford Deluxe and they said that because my car had already gone through they were going to knock off $5 even though it was not what I asked for. When I got my car back it look like a regular wash what the heck!
Husband came into today to have car washed. Whoever drove the car out of the wash must have sh#* their pants. There was enough sh#* on the drivers seat that it got on the back of my husbands shirt and on the top of the drivers seat. How gross! Forget ever going back to this place!!!!
Just left the Burnet road location and Im disappointed in the quality. There are major bugs left on the grill, hood and side mirrors. Dirt left behind wheels and dog nose prints on the inside windows.I couldnt ask for another wash as I was on my lunch hour.I had hoped the negative reviews were wrong. :Cant post pictures here but did on Yelp for you to view.
Seriously, dont go here. I wish Id read the reviews before I went.I called to confirm pricing before I went and was told the interior detail wouldnt be higher than 110, but when I got there, it jumped to 140. It took 1.5 hours MORE than they said it would, and the woman at the register was rude about my using the Groupon Id bought. When I left, there were still multiple dirty spots. It was an awful experience and I hope that you dont have to go through their crap too!
I think the initial process is whats most confusing for folks. When you pull up, its somewhat in disarray with a bunch of people everywhere. Overall the ppl were friendly enough, but the representative I worked with kept trying to sell me on add-ons and confusing pay $120 now, Ill get you a good deal today and you can come back for a full detail. Ill take real good care of you..Long story short, be an informed customer, look at the prices online prior to your visit, and take your time with the rep (since they always seem to rush you). Also, Ive found prices are somewhat negotiable if youre getting addtl services (for example, I got an engine cleaning on my jeep and was able to get the packaged price down). And finally, they have a nice enough wait area with WiFi, so come with a book/laptop etc.Hope this helps - RK
Waste of money. I had a Groupon for an $80 car wash, car came out with dirt and road tar still on it. I walked around car pointing out the dirt and tar, the guy only wiped down exactly what he was showed. If there was dirt/tar right next to where you pointed it wasnt getting wiped, unless show specifically pointed to it. Not worth even the cost of the Groupon.
They stole sunglasses from my car, and when I confronted the manager he denied it. On top of that the car was still dirty. They did a really poor job on the inside. The outside of the car was still dirty. This place is run down, and needs to go out of business. Avoid this place.
Highly unprofessional staff. Out of kindness I won’t post the details, but you’re welcome to message me if you’d like to know more.PS pricing is negotiable and may change day to day or based on who you’re dealing with. Be sure and negotiate unless you’re the type who pays sticker price for a new vehicle
Just left and discovered I had been robbed of $3 in change. I happen to know because before pulling through the auto wash, I had cashed s $5 bill to do it myself, but, what do you know, virtually all of the self service bays were broken. Not a big deal, but I dont appreciate being robbed. Thanks Genie!
Drove a larger car and had it fully detailed so paid abit more, but what was unfortunate was that they took 2.5 hours to clean it and still left dirt under the seats along with a hand print in the seat polish. Used to come here alot as a kid, but wont be back unless it is to self clean my cars.
Took $3 and went to wash my car at 7 P.M.Put $1.50 in, but it was broken; nothing would come out.Couldnt get my coins back so I had to exchange some bills, but machine is off.Went into next booth, but soap wont come out..I just came back home with a wet car, and Im not going back.
Im only giving them 1 star because you can not give minus 5 starsI have taken cars and trucks here for years every single time my vehicle is not cleaned this time it wasnt even vacuumed 61 bucks and wax left all over spots all over Ive spent more with same results I highly recommend any other car wash
Worst experience Ive had, all the trash were full, a few dead birds in stuck in the drains, no soap. I dropped ten dollars and got screwed. Will never go there again. When I walked in the office to complain, the employee who was in there just stared at me, as if I was disturbing him while he playing his video game. The place is a disgrace, I would not even recommend to my worst enemy.
Well they arent the friendliest, nor the cheapest. You apparently need 1 to know exactly what you want before you arrive even if you are the only person in line and 2 need to hop out of your car running, never mind if you have your hands full, you are to address them. Felt like I was back in Army Basic
So I had a groupon for $80 worth or service for $40, I went in there thinking I would only pay the difference but it ended up being an extra $100 on top of that I tried talking to them about it but there was nothing they could do since the job was already done 😩 I will never be back! the work wasnt even good

2022-03-23The tunnel was misstimed and barely working. Nearly all of the soap and extra product I paid for was sprayed on the floor and the nozzles turned off when my vehicle was under them. The agitators stopped working as my vehicle passed under them. The employees were seen picking up rags from the ground and using them on painted surfaces. My tire shine was hastily applied and missed most of the tire. I paid for a VIP service expressly to have my doors, dash, and cup holders cleaned, but had to remind the end of the line guy and he did a 20 second wipe with a greasy sponge that left my steering wheel sticky and most of the doors, dash, and cupholders untouched. My paind still had dirt on it that was easily removed with my finger. When the cashier was informed of the equipment not working she told me to find Patrick and let him know. The benches in the outdoor waiting area are falling apart and missing pieces as well. The area where the cars are dried off is very slippery and there was no warning signs. I witnessed at least two people slip while entering their cars and nearly fall. Youre probably better off with a hose and a rag in your driveway.

2022-06-09Honestly, I’m upset I even paid for the membership. I live an hour away from any location but figured it would be nice while in Austin to get the car cleaned and so I bought the membership. EVERY TIME I have come, I have some sort of issue but it’s just not worth the time to go get back in line. The people that finish off the car make you feel like you’re the one in the wrong when you point out the pitfalls left behind as you inspect and seem to always expect a tip for their lack luster work. I paid extra for armor all treatment and find it was done half a$$. Parts of the dash not even done. Why do I pay the price of an entire bottle of armor all for a terrible wipe job? I moved my daughters booster seat (not buckled in) and they left all the crumbs behind. Just terrible. I don’t recommend this place but if you go, make sure you inspect the vehicle and get your moneys worth.

2022-06-01I read the reviews and came here out of convenience because of the location so my bar was already pretty low. But spending $100 for a car wash that left smeared windows (the guy was using one hand because he was smoking while drying my car) and a dirty interior (vacuum missed whole leaves, floor mat was gritty and dirty from workers shoes, cupholders not cleaned, dash not even wiped) was extremely disappointing. Not sure what I paid for. I came home and finished up myself. The tires looked shiny, Ill give them that.

2022-06-15Its a pretty good car wash. And the cell service car wash is one of the few that is convenient to get to in Central Austin. I can get my car fully washed in about 15 minutes for about $4, can beat it if you got a few minutes

2022-06-21Sent my wife up there to get the VIP Wash – $59.99 Executive wash. You had two options to choose from, she picked - Clean dashboard, cup holders and door panels. They charged her extra for what was included. Dishonest and wasn’t even done right. Those kinda of business practices are disgusting. I will never refer to them or go back. $85 for the advertised $59 wash, because she didn’t know better. Let’s take advantage of people cause we can.

2021-09-25155.00 dollars and a 3 hour wait. A blind man could have done a better job at vacuuming. And whats with the excessive liquid left on the center console? I will never return here.

2022-07-05I recently had a bad experience at Genie on Burnet Road. They were detailing my truck so I could sell it and they didnt touch the top of the truck??I called them and they were going to fix it but its a extra step that I have to take now in order to get the car ready. It was $400 and his boss told him not to do it. They know they were supposed to do it I emphasized I needed the top done and thats when they didnt get done so.If youre going to use them you need to watch over everything they do and inspect the car really well before you leave. Because of this override of a district request, I dont recommend them for this kind of work. This was the 2nd time with a detail issue with Genie ànd that was cheap either. I would have a mobile detailer come to your house its about the same price and they are sure to do what you request. I cant recommend this business at this time.

2022-03-20The coin operated wash is a complete joke. The power soap was water. If they arent going to spend the money to repair the wash equipment then shut the power off and quit taking peoples money. Giving one star is generous. Genie Car wash was a reputable brand back in the day. What happened? BAD BAD BAD

2022-07-02The big sign out front says “Temporarily Closed” but it doesn’t look temporary. Inside are a few coffee cups, cigarette butts, bits and pieces of paper on the floor. Outside, lists of services and prices, all the usual rules and regulations, nothing different. Looks like people had minutes to lock up and leave. Scary. I don’t think they are coming back.

2017-11-25I went in today to get my car washed and chose an option that came with the vacuuming of the inside. Both the wash and the vacuum were done sloppy. A ton of dog hair, dirt, and bird poop was still on and in my car upon completion. Also, Im pretty sure these lovely circular scratches happened sometime during the process.
