Went in Saturday and was the worst experience., I wanted to try an item and make sure it was working, but I was told by a male manager that I didn’t need to try it out. He said if it was out there, it was because they already tried it out l, and I did not need to test it. I just left because the rudeness this man was
Probably thee worst goodwill I have ever EVER went to. The employees are the absolute WORST! I went to purchase merchandise and was the only person in line, while three, not one not two BUT THREE employees stood there gossiping and didn’t even attempt to stop and help me. The red headed girl kind of glanced up at me but still just stood there and didn’t help me. I ended up just walking out, THEY MUST BE DOING REALLY WELL THERE SINCE THEY DIDNT NEED MY BUSINESS. don’t come here, it’s a waste of time and frustrating. And not one of them were practicing social distancing which is CDC guidelines..during a PANDEMIC! So rude. No wonder they are hiring.
Worst experience ever with a goodwill, the employees harassed you for the last 10 minutes before closing went to every customer screaming “we close in ___ minutes” FOR 10 minutes straight. I think the reminder walking in was plentiful. Awful experience if I could give no stars I would.
This will always be my favorite goodwill. And I have been to MANY. It is always clean and well organized. The staff has a great attitude and I always find great deals. It’s rare for Goodwills to be clean and well taken care of. It’s obvious the staff cares about their store. I’m constantly in this store and I will always recommend it. I’m never disappointed!!
This place is a nice and easy location to donate to, but some of the worst pricing decisions I think I’ve ever seen at a goodwill. Items are extraordinarily overpriced here. I’m talking broken, piss-stained, cat shredded, dirty, falling to pieces items are well over $50 dollars, sometimes closer to $70.
Have found great stuff at this location. Although sometimes they’re short staffed and it’s hard to find someone to unlock a fitting room, but the staff is friendly. Also sometimes the things are overpriced like some old pair of dirty rain boots for $12.99? I could get some new ones for that price.
Really disorganized clothing sections. Sizes are completely mislabeled and many sections are completely mismatched. Tshirts in the light jackets sections. Its tough for me to buy anything when i have search through every article of clothing to find something my size. It used to be much better. Idk what happened, i hope it gets fixed soon. Very disappointed
Heres the deal: I work hard for my money, as do most people. My job environment is brutal and often I get very dirty and I risk ripping or ruining my clothes daily. Why in the world would I pay full price for new clothes? I buy my work clothes and a lot of my regular clothes at Goodwill. They are just as good as new and I save a LOT of money compared to retail. The store is clean, the workers are friendly, and money is better budgeted. Yes, I absolutely tell people where my clothes come from and I recommend this place all the time.
The worst experiences I have had in retail by far. The manager Joe, told my friend she was disgusting and to get out. My friend yes had a few clothes on the floor that she intended on picking up. The manager did not ask the customer to pick up the clothes. Instead he immediately launched into the above insults and demanded that my friend get out. This is unacceptable and unprofessional and is a very bad look for the Goodwoll store. I will be writing to corporate about the basic respect lacking at this store. Skip this store and visit another.
For what I go there for I like it- which is vases and vessels. I do think their clothes are overpriced as some clothing items cost as much as Walmart charges. The counter staff is pleasant for the most part but I do feel an under current of rudeness at times. Place is pretty clean however
Well first of all , its one of the largest Goodwill that ever been to. It has a massive collection clothing bicycles Electronics home decor and all in an organized fashion. I bought a very nice Ralph Lauren shirt in perfect condition less than $ 8 bucks. Im definitely going to go back again. Thanks Goodwill. Keep up the good work.
I would have given more stars except for one reason. The mens clothing, specifically pants were all out of size order. Going to the section for size 38 waist you could find 32 inch waist 34 in, 28 in, etc etc. Other than this, the store was clean, the employees polite and I found it a great store.
The managers are mean people. I dont think they have good hearts. I did community service there and they acted like it was slave labor. I do not recommend this store also everything they sell there is poor quality. I recommend going to a different store. There was this one really cute worker that was really nice there, so Ill give it 2 stars instead of 1.
Your employee stationed at the drop off lane in the back today thinks its perfectly okay to block the entire lane to have a leisurely 15-minute conversation with a customer. They both refused to move the vehicle forward just a little bit so that other people could continue to drop off their donations.
I just tried to return this TV I purchased at Goodwill for $45 they would not let me return the TV because I took the sticker that was on the screen off of the screen even though I had the receipt and the TV of course they would not let me return the item I mean thats messed up dont you think because its a TV I mean whos going to leave the price sticker on their TV screen anyway shame on you Goodwill for accepting free donations you do not donate to any Charities you are a for-profit business and your manager at the South 1st Street the chubby Mexican with glasses is very rude and obnoxious and got a kick out of not returning this for me even though I called and they said that the manager should do it for me and that it was up to the managers discretion well what I did was brought a whole stack of Goodwill receipts with me and show that I was a good customer. It sucks because I like Goodwill but this one transaction is going to keep me from a store that I like. I wish there was something a manager would do possibly give me a call and accept this item back instead of ripping me off completely for $45 and losing my business I will be writing corporate
Bizarre management decisions. The manager at that location apparently decided it would move people through the dressing rooms faster by closing them down the closer they get to closing so instead of four dressing rooms they then had 2 dressing rooms open for all the people trying to try on clothes really fast before closing. So yes, stupidest manager on the face of the Earth is at that store. Talk about angry customers.
Hello Im a long time shopper and donator of the Goodwill of the Central Texas division. 20 plus years . But unfortunately over the last few months I have noticed some changes around the goodwills in the Central Texas area. Changes as a consumer donator etc that I dont exactly like. Two weeks ago I walked into a Goodwill and I saw a used TV most likely donated with a price tag on it of $699.00, never in the history of Goodwill have I seen such a price on any TV. Ive been shopping around for the last month Ive seen items sitting on the shelf for $200 plus and the list can go on and on. My experience as a shopper is coming to a screeching halt, Ive been in denial for the last couple of weeks that Im not seeing what Im seeing in these stores sometime it blows my mind that Im actually physically standing in Goodwill a place 90% of the product is being donated. The prices are pretty much compatible to me being in a retail store such as Walmart. Thats not the feeling that I want in Goodwill Ill say it again Goodwill not some big corporate retail store The place where I can as a consumer go and purchase something at a reasonable price And when I have items that Im no longer using I can donate. My point is the Central Texas goodwills in my opinion has entered into the greed game. The intentions no longer matches the name of the establishment. Not Goodwill, More likely Greedwill its sad to say but its true. I hope you others as consumers has noticed this and will join me and a somewhat boycott of spending your money and donating your merchandise to a corporation, Central Texas goodwills who has lost the true essence of its name and has entered the greed game. My full report. Thank you.
The store was poorly maintenance and organized. They had racks of short sleeve shirts labeled as ladies long sleeve shirts. They had the front boarded up still from when someone crashed through the front window some time back. There were personal items such as a wallet, back back and purse laying in the sidewalk in front of the building. Check out lanes are not organized to facilitate fast checkout.
The selection of clothing is still lacking in the mens section, but if youre looking for some household items, and the general thrift store selection, this store has quite a lot to look for. The store is relatively new, and is usually busy. The staff is friendly, and they do accept donations toward the far end of the parking lot. Ive found a few great deals, but the prices for some items seem a bit high compared to other thrift stores in the Austin Area. Its worth a visit!
Ive noticed here in the last year or so, prices have gone up. Designer blue jeans can be as high as $30 bucks! A lot of the home decor items are extremely used and have a higher price then what its worth. I use to go once a week but now I go every couple months. Maybe, and I usually walk out with nothing due to the prices. And the shoes!! OMG! Just because they are Nike doesnt mean they are worth$25 dollars!! Old ass worn out shoes with ridiculous prices!!! Plus the sun shines through the big windows in the afternoons, blinding the hell out of you! I literally have to wear sunglasses to shop in the front of the store. Today I was shopping and I left because I was getting a headache from squinting much and having to hold up my hand to block the sun so I could see what I was looking at. I have mentioned this to the manager for the last 3 years and well... Anyway, Goodwill your asking way too much money for stuff that is donated!
Nice, big selection of items if ones timing is right. The areas people contribute okay items with occasional gold (found a brand new normally $200 wall art from Pottery Barn for $8!). I accidentally left my hatchback open for the duration of my visit but to my relief my car was undisturbed, not sure if I could say that at many other Goodwills
Things have certainly taken a quick downturn at this Southpark location. It was filthy, most of the stuff there was icky, peely, grimey, gross and ridiculously overpriced! I honestly could not believe my eyes. I dont understand what happened? I was there only 4 or 5 months ago and it was clean, well organized and it had a pretty nice selection. Today, as I rummaged I found a pair of womens shoes with the whole back end of one completely and unmistakably chewed off obviously by somones pet. And Goodwill still set them out to sell? I mean shame on whoever thought it was okay to donate trash and shame on Goodwill for putting it out on the sales floor!
As local Goodwills go, this fairly new location is convenient, has plenty of parking and is pretty neatly organized. Except for the books. And the toys. And the kitchen/household goods. Well, OK, the clothes ARE sized and hung neatly! I did notice that all the labels in most of the mens shorts had been cut out - odd. And the prices, well, the prices are approaching ridiculous like most all the Central Texas Goodwills. Seriously Goodwill, make me feel better - if youre going to price something that Target donated, at least remove the Target priceag so I cant see that youre trying to charge me the same price as I would have paid at Target!
Horrible service, lot of the people who work there are the worst. over priced 2nd hand items. auctions for the only stuff worth buying so they can over charge for that too. place is a rip off. 75$ for used boots I can buy brand new for 120$ no thanks. So its January 14th 2018 figured Id give this Goodwill a shot again and sure enough I did not let me down with failure. Theyre selling guitars for 7999 plus tax that are worth maybe $20 with the case. the one on display is broken. so sad
Found what I needed at a good price. Finding help wasnt easy. Had to go to the front register for assistance. Rather than calling someone to help, I directed what I needed to get to make my purchase. There were lots of people working the floor, but none ever asked anyone if assistance was needed. Instead they would look at us and then walked away.
This visit was not as good as anticipated. I expected the clearance to b more visible. Also no coupons, bids on products, where ever discover in other states. Wisconsin have no bidding, coupons, and Saturday discounts. Why the Goodills in austin, texas. do not have this Im concerned.
Im only giving a two star because the of the deals and most of the helpful/nice staff. Otherwise this is a germ ridden junk pile with lots of scary broken glass. Plus way too many kids/children/new born babies and none of them our taken care of watched after or have any discipline at all(CPS would have a field day here). Then comes the people that are just extremely rude and will run you over if you get in their way. GWO needs to start kicking all of these people out!!!
Im going to tell the community Austin Texas about this Goodwill. I went into the Goodwill on Monday and I just enter the Goodwill and went straight to see the plates I was going to bye well when I was entering I saw a lady in that was the manager soon as I walked in she had her eyes on me and I knew right there she was discrimination just she knew I was and ever since I entered Goodwill she had her eyes on me. And then three minutes she came straight to me in my friend that didnt know nothing and she discriminative because we were gate and she said that we were putting things in her pants but she had her eyes as soon as I walked in and as soon as I went to the dishes she never took her eyes she made up a story saying that two people went up to her and told her I was doing things in my pants that was negative feedback I contact since the day I walked in Good Will we never left eye contacts nobody went up to her and Im going to post it for the gay community about the manager that supervisor whoever runs Google at night cheese discrimination gay people she hates gay people she threw me out because I was gay from the Goodwill in Google supposed to be for people that have good Community but she is very horrible and I did give some language because I knew in my heart that she was lying I never talked that way I never disrespect people or use any kind of language but that lady got into my feelings because I knew she hated gay people who will excuse it to people went up to her me and her had eye contacts we never lost anything to nobody went up to her and I knew she was going to throw us out because she hates gay people she makes food will look very bad for business and I hope that this council is the main office cuz Im going to make a big issue about this we never lost contact and she said I had to leave because I was thinking things in my pants shes lying she just said she hates gay people and she took us right away and my friends like I said he has nothing to do with it she goes you too you get out that means she has KP

2022-01-12Prices keep rising. This is for used items. If you check store sales, most clothes can be bought new for the same price.

2021-10-15If I could give 0 stars I would. Tried returning a new item that did not work, was told by supervisor Jonathan that they would not refund or exchange or give store credit for new items even if they are broken, defective or for any reason. Horrible way to do business, I feel like Goodwill just stole my money. I will no longer be supporting this business in any way. Sooo sooo sooo disappointed.THis business is supposed to help people in a bad spot not take advantage of them.

2021-07-20Im frustrated. I once tried to leave stuff and the guy screamed at me because he thought I was stealing things. Some employee guy yelled at me after I left the store wanting me in the changing room or something weird. The cashiers are so slow. And the really nice shirt I found, I cant use because its the wrong size because they mis-tagged it. But... I cant hate the place because I have found a lot of good clothes and dvds there.
