Goodwill Store & Donation Center in other cities:
Really low quality of manners coming from the cashier. Tossing my card back on thr counter instead of handing it to me, having attitude and just did not seem like she wanted to be there. Made the experience very awkward and uncomfortable and probably just wont return to this location. Please hire friendlier staff for the front.
Love this store since Red is gone!!! Pat is the best employee that store has every had. Please promote her to the manager or just oversee the store. She greets us with her presence every time we come in. She’s like a store owner that cares about customers and employees. That store has done better since the two red headed workers have been let go... we’ve stopped going when Amber was in charge, the store was empty and the shelves were always empty. Since Pat has been putting more items out and seeing the employees happier, their have been more customers coming in. We’ve really noticed a difference are in the store 3 times a week. Pat is the best thing this store has needed, always willing to help you out and answer any questions you have. The jeans are more organized and the store is cleaner, repaint the bathrooms and have someone attend to them.P.S. get rid of all the toys except for board games, the customers tend to not go down the aisles, if their are toys scattered on the floors. Or put them up by the baby clothes or kid clothes, in the corner of the changing room. If you keep them by the racks, no one will want to go down the aisles, to look at the higher priced items... 💰 👍Thanks
My mom was looking at a blanket & a very rude employee screamed at her to fold it back up & she nearly snatched it from her hands. I told her she didn’t have to be rude about it, since my mom wasn’t done looking at it & she was going to fold it. It was very unnecessary from her part, to scream at a customer for looking at an item she wanted to purchase ?. While we kept shopping we noticed she was rude to other customers as well. If she doesn’t like working at a customer service job she should just quit. I informed the manager but she looked like she did not even care, she even said that they have a hard time trying to pick up store up. So do they expect people to shop without even touching anything?. The manager didn’t even apologize for her employee screaming at my mom. Poor management . Friends & family will never shop in this specific store anymore.
5/1/2021- The most rude people I’ve ever seen at a donation center. Considering Goodwill is going to sell and make $$$ from the items donated, you would think they would take donations graciously and say thank you. The two men at the drop off line in Plano acted as if I was interrupting their day. I will try finding a shelter to donate my items to next time. Goodwill should be ashamed of themselves.
Wow they make it difficult to donate. All the bins were full when I arrived and I had no idea it was “contactless” as usually you receive some sort of greeting & written confirmation when you donate. 4 employees saw me in the drive thru and no one said anything for about 15 mins until I eventually called the store and the manager came out and explained I’m supposed to put my donations in the bins and no one comes out and helps because of COVID, which is fine but would have been nice to know!Very unhelpful employees! I’ll just throw the sht away next time!
I use love goodwill except they changed their pricing to all is the same like a nice shirt cost 5.99 and then a t-shirt that belong to a employee of a restraunt also cost 5.99. paid 8 for really cheap veacekets but didnt know it. However got 2 pair of shoes for 3 each just got watch what your buying
I absolutely love this store! The manger and the crew were so nice to me! I am new to the area and there was a lady named Pat that helped me find towels and was so kind and made me feel so welcome. The manager with red hair checked me out at the register and was kind enough to walk me through how to sign up on the VIP list. She also gave me a calander with all the discount days on it. She was amazing and even welcomed me to the area.Out standing store and people! I will be back!
There was a bunch of donations outside tonight, (Friday), and these poor people were doing their best to put everything inside. I sat outside waiting and noticed that out of the 4 people outside, only 3 of them were working and only 2 of them looked like employees. When I asked, I was told the other 2 were volunteers. 1 kid Jacob was busting his butt, while the other employee (dont know her name, large, black girl) was either standing around talking in the parking lot to her friends or on her phone. In a 30 min period I saw her move 2 boxes. How does she still have a job ?? This is sad, that management probably either doesnt see this or doesnt care.
The female cashier hardly ever wears her mask properly, but it doesnt matter because masks dont work if they arent airtight. Overheard the manager chastise her for it but nothing came of it. Absolutely do not feel safe shopping here because of her, clearly they dont take health seriously. Also, the same cashier overcharged my friend 3 times what she owed.
I always have really good luck finding dress shirts and ties at this location at a fraction of the price they would cost at a normal store. Store can be a bit chaotic at times, but its a thrift store and that should be expected to an extent. They regularly have sale days where certain colored tags are marked down even further - its worth a try.
This used to be a great Goodwill store that adhered to Goodwills pricing policies, however now the store clerks tend to just spout off a price off the top of their head and it is different from one clerk to the next. Goodwill typically has a set list of prices for various types of items and this store used to have posted prices. As an experiment, I took an unmarked item to one clerk who told me the item was $2.99. Having been a frequent thrift store shopper for years, I knew the item is normally priced $1.99 at other Goodwill stores in the area. I asked her if she could check her price list to be sure she was charging me the correct price and she got very disturbed and agitated by my request (and she declined). I told her I no longer wanted the item and she returned it to stock. A few moments later, there was a different clerk (shift change?) at the register so I grabbed the same aforementioned item and took it back up to the cash register to inquire about the price. Interesting - it was $1.99! This has happened now on more than one occasion at this particular Goodwill location, so be aware that the pricing inconsistencies exist, here. Catch a cashier on a good mood day for best results. On another note, the housewares and household linens section was very organized and each item was neatly folded on my most recent visit, which is unusual for a larger thrift store. The price of books is higher at this store than other thrift stores in the area - definitely not a bargain. This store seems to be best for baby clothing and household items, although be sure to get an accurate price, as the items are no longer clearly marked in their sections.Military members and senior citizens receive a discount on Thursdays.
I visit this location almost 2 times a month and I always find something in this place. Love the deals I find, great place to find name brand clothing for my daughter, always find build a bears, adult clothes you have to have patience and dig but its worth it. Housewares not bad again have a keen eye and know your stuff. If you are a bargain hunter there is something for most. No furniture though.
Went there to donate a truckload of China and glassware. Pretty nice stuff that should sell for them. Upon completing a donation I always take pictures of the boxes and totes to stick in the tax folder for that year. The woman in charge this morning also suggested I do this as well. The donation took up 2 large bins. While taking pictures of bin #1 the other bin was brought inside. Unwilling to bring the bin out I attempted to walk inside the little warehouse to take a picture of my second bin of donations. Over the years I have been in scores of donation centers and have been in the donation storage area of every one of them. This is when the woman in charge started yelling at me that I was doing illegal activities. So I stopped at the entrance of the warehouse and zoomed in with the phone camera all the while she continues to yell, take my license plate down and say she is calling the police. Calling the police? For taking a couple of photos of MY DONATION! I told her we loved them and left.I have never been treated this rudely and disrespectfully at any donation center. I will never frequent this location again and will probably never donate to or buy from a Goodwill again. I suggest nobody deal with those people since they think they can and should talk and treat people however they want.I should have loaded my donations back in the truck and taken them to Salvation Army.
Great experience!!got a ton of great clothes here that were ALL brand clothes 💓workers were really kinda and nice, super chill people and i got a week worth of shirts that only cost 23$ total... including some amazing finds.i suggest shopping in the Men’s Shirt section for anyone who likes baggy shirts and such
Ive been to many Goodwill stores and this is definitely my favorite. But on my last trip I was very disappointed with my shopping experience. An employee was being very helpful in showing me some fossil purses that they always keep behind the counter. She was the only one at the checkout, despite a long line that eventually developed. I then asked someone else to help me out and he said no. He even told the other employee not to show me any more purses. In the end I bought 10 and was happy with my purchase. I was in too good of a mood to address my frustrations with the manager. The three stars are for the young lady that helped me out.
Carolyns Review...........Employees were polite and informative. Typically I can find farely new clothing ag this location. Everything is easy to find in the store as well. If you like my review. Please dont forget to press the thumbs up and comment as well. It helps us all with your feed back. Thanking you in advance.
I have a ada approved disability and because of that i cant wear mask. i was threatened by employee to have police come even though i left store willingly. only store in allen plano area that treated me this way sad. especially from good will who helps disabled people will never shop here again
HORRIBLE! The employees try very hard to be good. The problem is one woman they call ‘red’ she says is the manager but she behaved more like the owner or master, she feels entitled to say ‘in MY store’ you do not do this, you do not do that, you do not touch here, you do not touch that. Wait a minute, we (the customers) pay your salary. Rude, dictatorial, unconscionable of her position on this world. I am a regular customer but l am in peace with my self to know l won’t comeback to this store until this woman is removed from there. You (manager) insulted me and offend me 3 times. I did forgive you the first, l let it go the second, l won’t forget the last one. I recommend to go to ‘Salvation Army’ their staff is good and happy they have a job. Also the merchandise is much better and clean.
I love this goodwill but there is an employee there with the rudest attitude. I had heard about her in the reviews and now I know what they mean. Shes so mean and talked to me like I was stupid. She seriously needs to get fired, because it wasnt just me!! The customers before just had a simple question and she gave them the worst attitude I have ever seen. I could go on forever about how mean she is, but it would take my whole life.
I LOVE Goodwill store, they have amazing deals, when you keep on checking. Before I used to shop at Khols but now I do it now and then .The Amazing thing about Goodwill the clothes are better believe me NOT, I told my friends, they could not BELIEVE WHERE I got them from.
The prices are better than the Salvation Army thrift store. The place is just as disorganized as the Addison store. The clothes are not organized by size like they are in other cities. Organizing by size makes it easy to find some really nice clothes. At this store every time you see something nice it is either too big or too small. I am wondering if this is due to poor management in the Dallas area or it is just the Plano and Addison stores.
Had the absolute WORST experience at this store on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.I purchased quite a few items and when I went to my car to review my receipt (it seemed high to me), I realized I was charged incorrectly (over $10). I returned to the store and told the nice young man that originally checked me out about the error. Thats when the manager or supervisor stepped in to help - he had the key so he had some type of managerial duties at that particular time. We reviewed the ticket and then he said, so, what are you asking? I said that there were two items at $3.99 that I was charged for, but dont have and something for a $1.99 that I also dont have. He said that he could do a full refund and ring me up again. I told him that was fine. When he started to ring me up, prices on items suddenly changed. He said that the large bag I purchased was no longer $5.99 and it was now $10. I told him to keep it. (There was NOT a price on the bag, but I had been quoted $5.99) Then he changed an item that was priced at $.29 to $.59. I told him to keep it. He wasnt talking to me unless I asked him a question; he was just talking to the young man about the price changes. As he would get a new item, I would ask him what the price was now as they kept changing. I also told him that it wasnt right that he was changing prices as he wished. No response. After all was done and I was charged, there was no Im sorry or thank you ... Just him filling out his paperwork for the return. Horrible supervisor. Horrible experience. I hate to think that the goods I have donated and the money I spend go to his paycheck.
A little disorganized, but Ive found some good clothing items here when I need something quick. Two strongest points of this particular store are clothes and books. If youre looking for treasures, save your time and shop St Vincent De Paul up the street instead. Goodwill seems to cull their intake and do something with the truly fun to find items that make it to the shelf at some other stores, perhaps sell them through some other venue like eBay, although Im not sure of that.
The worst Goodwill Ive ever been to. Chewing gum smeared on the changing room doors, no hooks for hangers in the changing rooms, clothes seem to be located completely at random. I dont expect thrift stores to be fancy but I hope they arent gross or completely falling apart, and this one was both.
The prices are ridiculous its second hand stuff it should not be expensive! Also I purchased DVD movie and when I got home I found out it was empty the DVD was not there! I bought 10 movies and the price was 2 for $1 when I got to the cashier she said it was $2.99 for 1 movie as I said ridiculous! Most of the stuff has no price tag! Now I have to go back just to return the empty DVD! Horrible
I cant believe people are giving bad ratings to a Goodwill store. I mean, I thought if I should review it myself from a usual donators perspective, but when I read the reviews from all the shoppers here I was shocked! Yes, I am giving this place five stars even though I have never stepped foot inside, yet I have stopped by many times to donate things that are in good condition that I would rather someone benefit from, even if they have to pay an establishment such as this for it. Someone below actually used the word yuck, and where do they get their stuff from, the ghetto? I mean, seriously?! If this was a typical retail store that you dont like (for a certain valid reason of course), then I totally understand someone giving them a bad review, but this is where [typically] the less fortunate shop and try to get things for cents on the dollar that they would otherwise not be able to buy brand new. This is disgusting and quite shameful.
I wouldnt even put a star on this dont even deserve one. But anywho good store but worst staff. Rude workers including the store manager. If your going to be gross about picking up the stuff when it comes to price check why even bother working there??? Their attitude is the worst, if you dont like working there find yourself another job. Staff makes the store look wrong.
They had the worst customer service ever! They asked me for an ID wheni didnt have one and I purchased a movie that wasnt even Rated R and they told me that that was their policy to check IDs for purchases but they let me buy my movie and as I left I flipped them off. So dont shop here customer service is bad!
I would have given this 3 stars, but thats not fair. The main reason I dont like this Goodwill is that all the good stuff is usually gone. Its rare that I find anything that I actually want. I usually am just donating things.I think its because the area has more people, and of course I blame Macklemore. :) The Goodwills in less populated areas dont seem to be as picked through, and you can generally get better finds there.Im glad Goodwill exists though, to provide jobs and cheap used items. Last time I was in here, they seem to have walled in the book room that used to exist to the left when you walked in, and maybe theyre using it for office space or something now. Im not sure.Clothing is sorted by color, not by size, or at least it seems that way, so its really frustrating trying to find things in your size.
Worst experience EVER... I overheard one of the workers telling another coworker, that she just attended a funeral and was laughing at all the people that were ugly crying... Are you serious?? That is one of most insensitive things to say, and to laugh with your coworker about it... 😠Then another worker is standing up sleeping in the back of the store...Everything is dirty, broken and over priced... Will never return!!!
If you think the staff is rude please trying donating. They make you feel like you have crap and they cant stand you. I donate all of my items each year and they are the worst place you can go. Try Salvation Army... they usually are very kind and help me get my items out of the vehicle. I wont go back.
Wow! I cant believe people are giving a Goodwill establishment poor ratings. WOW. JUST WOW. Would you go to a homeless shelter complaining about how they dont give you 5-star treatment? People shop there out of NECESSITY, not because they WANT TO.You shouldnt walk in there expecting it to look like a typical retail store . Its a place for used/worn clothes. If you want the luxury of a typical firsthand retail store. then GO TO A FIRSTHAND RETAIL STORE. To me, this store looks about the same as Ross. You all should be ashamed of yourself.
This is the most disgusting Goodwill Ive been too because they have really bad stains on their clothes. There was obvious blood stains on some womens jeans they were trying to sell for over $10. The price here pretty expensive for what you get and you have to dig through lots of clothes to find your size and everythings mixed up. Overall its really dirty they need to start sorting through their items and throwing away donations that have disgusting stains.
Thought I would at least get a thank you when donating some pretty new and nice stuff there; instead the short blonde woman with glasses told me why did you take your stuff out of the bag when I was showing her what I had and got all annoyed. From now on I will give all my stuff to the one on Custer and Hedgcoxe.
By far the worse Goodwill Ive ever stepped into. Where do they get their stuff from, the ghetto? Yuck. I guess Im spoiled having recently moved into the area from Florida where the Goodwill stores are pretty nice and the things that are donated there are mostly quality stuff. I was shocked because this is Plano - supposedly a more high-end area of the Dallas area. Not according to this Goodwill! I didnt really go through their clothing so maybe theres something decent there, I dont know, but this place had nothing to offer household-wise except scratched-pots and pans, useless trinkets, no furniture, no jewelry, mix and match glassware. Terrible. Never again.

2022-02-01I just wasted a bunch of time in this store picking out a bunch of clothes only to find out they dont have their dressing rooms open. So if you actually like to try on the clothes before you buy them, dont come here! Ridiculous! They could at least put a sign on the front door or dressing rooms.

2017-11-09This is a nice place to go look for used clothing, you can find very good deals at a good price, its clean, no messy floors. Conveniently it has an outlet where you can try electronics before you buy, they even allow returns if you get home with your electronic and didnt work which is really good. Cashiers are really nice, will def go back!

2022-01-30Rude, Rude, Rude! Been going here for 15 years. Will not be back. Would rather throw it in the trash. The lady that worked the drop off 1/30/2022 needs some disciplinary action. Will not be back.

2021-06-16This was my first visit and most likely the last. Ive always been a big fan of Goodwill and enjoy looking for that unexpected great deal in housewares, or finding a new author on the bookshelves. On this trip I was searching for plain mens tee shirts. There are huge ceiling-hung signs indicating Mens, Womens, Childrens, etc. I went directly to the Mens section and found every rack was a mixture of mens and womens clothing. In addition, the racks had size markers which were completely ignored. I was looking for XL, and there were plenty of every other size where the XL sizes were supposed to be. If everything is going to be jumbled up together, then get rid of the identifying signs which at this time are pointless.

2022-06-24Majority of the store was dusty, extremely old and the items were dirty.
