H-E-B in other cities:
He is a good place to buy meat , fish ,and just grocery. Employees are friendly, But they need to enforce wearing a mask, saw a man coughing without a mask. Most of their employees I saw were wearing a mask and they had free mask at the door. Any one with command sense would be wearing a mask for everyone protection. My opinion.BC
The little H‑E‑B is convenient for those of us on the south side of town, but the big H‑E‑B on Main Street now reminds us of what the little one lacks.Comparing apples to apples more fairly, though, there is a lot of empty shelf space, seemingly unnecessarily and a lot of inconsistency between the two. E.g. why is there such a lack of wet dog food when the big H‑E‑B is stocked fully? Why did the small H‑E‑B stop refrigerating ANY non-alcoholic beer? The small H‑E‑B *does* have great deli staff though.
The baggers needs some instruction. We are encouraged to bring our own bags and we should. However, unless you are watching/can give the sacker some instruction they will load your bags to the breaking point. Last night I took in three bags and they filled two the top so that they could hardly be lifted. The third bag they just set on top of one of the others ... Additionally when you hand your bags to the checkers they should ask if it is okay if they use plastic bags as well. Thank you.
This store seems to really put forth the effort to provide top notch customer service. The store is always clean and stocked. New and very pertinent coupons for meal completions placed out regularly. Staff masking and cleaning done well, customers are required to don safety masks. Checking out is quick, kind, and painless. New registers always open when needed and I always get help out to the car with my purchases when necessary.
I got the curbside pickup for the first time at this location, and it was most excellent! The young man who brought my groceries out was very courteous and very pleasant to speak with. He loaded my groceries into my trunk for me and let me know when he was done. Everything I wanted was available and they didnt have any substitutions or shortages. My partner even had to go inside for something we had forgotten, and he found everything he needed. Good experience overall. :)
The store itself is fine, easy enough to navigate around. You can find what you need in this store. The staff is another thing, five out of ten. Some staff is friendly; they treat people with respect, and are rather helpful. Sadly, good deal of them is rude! I can make an endless list that would make an easy fifteen page book. I will leave it to this: Thank you to the kind honest staff, you should be honored. The rude ones I will say: Good people are out of work right now, so show some respect you have one and learn some manners.
Oh my gosh. The new Kerrville H-E-B is one of the new big versions that have the attached BBQ stores. I like the plan, its well lit, and arranged. Lots of prepared foods. Great selections of chili sauces and salad dressings. Two cooking stations for demonstrations. And a great company.
When I was a teenager I worked at HEB as a checker, and that was a long time ago. My family shopped there, I worked, and I shop there. The stores are always clean, the checkers are polite, and if you cant find what you are looking for you are not far from an employee that can help you.I find the prices are fair and lower than most.I love the stores and would not go anywhere else!
I love this H‑E‑B! They have everything I need. The aisles are huge and well stocked. The staff are just wonderful and so helpful. The worst thing is that the parking situation is crazy. Would love to see like walking routes clear and defined. But everyone is trying so hard and doing their best. The meat counter and fish counter are lovely and they know their stuff.Btw, this is the only place I have seen in Kerrville that has black garlic. If you don’t know about black garlic, jump on it. So yummy.Nicely done H‑E‑B!
HEB is the best grocery in the USA. The employees really care to help you. Whole Foods is the only competition with real imported European foods, but expensive. Ive traveled the country and HEB is the best. I gave 4 stars because this HEB on county road 16 is smaller in every way than the one on Main street. The new HEB is being built and will open November 11, 2020.
Have to park minimum of 1/8 mile away from store entrance, all parking at front of store is for curbside customers,. Curbside shopping employees run over you with curbside carts & get angry when I get in what they consider theyre way, the courtesy car flips me the bird when he thinks Im in his way & then wont give me a ride. Other than that the new store is great, would like to see a customer service center.
I want to thank a wonderful employee, Sal, at HEB Sore #2/655 on Sidney Baker, Kerrville. He pointed out a couple of things that made my birthday gift purchase a whole lot better. I was in a rush going in, but Sal made it a point to let me know not to forget to pick up a floral card for the plant I was buying. Even though this might seem like part of his job description, it made my day. A very nice man to have in your store that leads with a smile and a pleasant personality.
This store is usually my favorite because its usually so calm & laid-back, and I never have to drive around to find a place to park. However today it was very crowded and frantic, and the parking lot was packed. Im hoping this is due to construction going on at the store on Main Street. Hopefully that will change soon!
There are 2 HEBs in Kerrville. The small one on Sydney Baker South, and the large one, which is currently under renovation/construction/demolition. I have always perfered the one on Sidney Baker. While it doesnt have the variety of the other store, it is a more manageable one. Also, I find the employees there to be much more customer oriented. The big one on Main at. has been undergoing an entire body lift. When it is complete, I hope to be able to give it a good review. For now, unless you really need that special something that only the big one can give you....stick with the Sidney Baker store.
This store has amazing prices and a great selection of fruit. Great deals and was very good for cheap meal planning. I needed help finding a couple of things and there were always employees nearby to help me around the store. On one occasion, an employee took my shopping list and helped me find everything on it. This store has gotten me to rarely shop at Walmart anymore. Walmart is good but this HEB has everything you need and amazing staff. I will come here again and again!
The cashier Leslie B. Was so rude, the slider where my groceries were was full and she just stand there, I couldnt put more groceries there until she started it. She didnt told me how much my groceries amount it to, she never asked if that was all I needed, which I needed a bag of deer corn, I had to ask someone to help me get the deer corn bag, definitely she didnt wanted to be at work
I was checking out and I didn’t realize I went over my limit and didn’t have enough to pay for my items (due to my dog getting into a bad accident the night before and having to pay for his care) and a employee named Brisa said not to worry about it and she paid out of pocket for the rest of my items. She has no idea how much of a difference she made. There is still kind of people in this world!
I would like to take the time to share my amazing experience at this location and in hopes that someone at corporate HEB knows they have amazing people working for them. Yesterday I dropped my wallet with a decent sum of money in it. One of your empoyees found it and turned it in. I saw that my wallet went through a few of your employees hands and everything was still there. AMAZING. Its nice to know there are honest people in this world. I never take the time to write stuff like this but I felt the need to let you guys know that youve got good people there. Ill always shop there from now on too. That experience was inspiring
This is my go to store and there is a wonderful person who works here, his name is Michael. This sweet man never meets a stranger, always has a smile on his face and something silly to say that brightens your day. Anytime Im in he greets me with a big hug..and asks me how Im doing and throws in a little joke or two. It doesnt matter how busy he is he makes time to acknowledge he sees you. He is such a good soul. If youre in little HEB please make sure you say Hey to Michael! We need more people like him in this world.
Best grocery stores in Texas! Huge selections of fresh produce, last minute cooking ideas, fresh fish and meat department, a lot of local products and merchandise. A beautiful well-managed floral department with lots of gift ideas. So happy to finally have a store close to me!!!😁
I Love My Local HEB , only problem is today, Budweiser is discontinuing the 12 16 oz. Aluminum Bottles..Prices went from $10.98 to $14.98. Always thought you either keep the price of the product, or reduce it. First time I have ever seen a discontinued item go up in price. Yes I bought the last one..But I Love this Can Bud comes in, yet hated the idea the price went up $4.00
Were kinda in a twilight zone, our big heb is being reconstructed into a super sized store, and they have stopped stocking lots of items weeks before it will be finished, but our little heb store doesnt have the room to stock all the items the bigger store regularly stocked.
This HEB is better than the bigger Main Street HEB in Kerrville because generally there are less people and better parking and traffic. However, the selection is slightly more limited and the store is largely understaffed. The thing about the HEB stores in this town that will drive you crazy is all the senior citizens that go there to socialize and they block entire aisles and hold up check out lines consistently. HEB really needs to open a senior center (theyre totally missing a diversification opportunity here) for these folks so the younger people dont have to drive all the way across town to Walmart to avoid the frustration of not being able to move around these slow chatty seniors in order to shop.
I love H-E-B! Its the only place I shop! I always find what I need and a lot more, that I probably dont need!!! Anyhow, we need one in the town I live in which is Bandera Texas! We have a store called Lowes and its horrible! so hopefully yall can work on that, that would be great! Ive even started to buy all the stuff with your green checks on it, from the chips to whatever that has the green check I buy it! Because the quality is good and everything tastes really good! I used to never do that it had to be brand name! Anyhow, Ill be back there soon! Thank you!
Saturday morning August 15th, was the first time I had returned to buy groceries at our favorie HEB since my husnand died. I was having an extremely hard time coming with him no longer here. The woman in charge of the shopping carts at the north end of the store, her name tag read Cynthia, helped me through a really sad time. She was compassionate and kind not overwhelming, but generously came to my aid. God bless her now and forever. Anne Stewart
Very good, very nice employees, just wish HEB wouldnt allow dogs in store the people i see put their dogs in grocery cart nd i sometimes take my 1 year old grandson as careful ad i am wiping down with wipes he still holds on ,so please i know they love their pet but i love my grandson nd wheres theres food shouldnt be no pets, Home Depot etc is fine but not a grocery store. just my opinion
Polar opposite to the HEB on the other side of town. Jose Luis Chavez needs to be fired if he hasnt been already. One of our members was sent for an interview with him for a night position several months ago and he was told that he, at 42, was too old for the job... he (the Manager Jose) also showed up nearly an hour late for the interview and despite the fact that our member had been told that he would be working there all night he left promptly after the interview. Our Member informed this store location that they were withdrawing their application for employment at this store, but despite two notifications on his part they still continued with the hiring process of a job he was told he was too old to work for.The stocking employees at this store seem to have a little lack of a work ethic. We will not be giving our business here, and from what we have observed we are not alone.
For a business like h.e.b. to get with the state of texas and except programs like tanif, and no one in the frickin store has a clue about the program really says a lot about a business, and its not even the way the store employees yell what is tanif, makes the individual that qualified for the program even more embarrassed by the ignorance of the employees and the so called management that is suppose to teach them about these issues so that people are not looked upon like they have nothing but what the state gives them.
Not the best experience Ive had at HEB. I asked an idle employee where something was, and he literally pointed with his head. When I asked for clarification, he seemed perturbed. All of my heavy items and glass jars were put in the same bag, the handle of which broke before I got out the door. The cashier was friendly though.
Thank goodness we have them but this, Kerrville, being where it all started I would like to see them give us their best like their Farmers Markets in SA. Completely understand that the population market may not call for it according to your development plans but done right using the history of both the area and the family as well as a extensive marketing strategy to the outlying areas (possibly even some kind of discounts or something special) for those that travel a predetermined distance, I personally have seen how far many people will go for a better shopping experience. Unfortunately with the choices they have right now many choose to go to Boerne Walley World. Maybe something out of the box like a out of town discount card or club would stir them to come this way Even if it meant closing or using one of the other stores to upgrade to your best (a Flagship) where it all started! One other comment no matter what HEB does about another or upgraded store please DO SOMETHING about your meat/seafood departments, especially at what people here call the smaller store (Hwy. 16) and I do not mean tha staff they are good its the choices - nonexistent!
The better of the two HEBs in town. My review of the original HEB is below.Ive been to HEBs all over the place but this one is by far the strangest. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to what is placed in the aisles. Very weirdly laid out. Due to this, its like a mad house every time you go in there. People everywhere! Take the extra couple of minutes and go to the one on Sidney Baker.
