Guitar Center in other cities:
Terrible disregard for paying customers. Stood at checkout for at least 5 minutes and listened one clerk shoot the breeze with a customer who had already paid. The other sales person was on the computer. Then, they both walked away from checkout. Finally, one came back toward the desk. I asked him if he were free now to help me buy something ($150+ worth). I can understand laid back atmosphere but not slacking on paying attention to customers. I felt invisible in your store.G.L. Hardy
Well stocked selection of acoustic and electric guitars. They have a neat room dedicated to high end expensive guitars also. The staff is helpful and they greet everyone who comes in. This is my favorite Guitar Center out of the many that I have visited in Texas or anywhere else.
I have shopped here since the 1990s. Ive had nothing but the best treatment from the sales staff. Purchased several guitars, a bass or two, a drumset, amps, and a number of accessories. They have musical instruments for all budgets. Very knowledgeable team. Thanks Guitar World!
These guys truly know their craft. When you walk in they simply greet you and let you look around so that you can get over whatever notion you have that you know what youre doing. Once you get inundated with all of the different products that they have available there must be some type of pheromone that comes off of you because they know exactly when that point is and thats when they approach you again. At least thats the experience I had. Its at that point that you are actually ready to talk shop. Not before then, and they know this. LOL. From guitars to Drums to keyboards PA systems to the my new show of drumsticks guitar picks sustain pedals and anything in between I have not met a single guy in here that does not know what hes talking about. Now I have gone to other Guitar Centers and I am proud to call this one mine
Very dissapointed. Called in and was told there was a left handed Squier in stock for $260. Drove 30 minutes to be told differently that they only had one telecaster for $799.99 . I really dont appreciate being misguided, as their ordering system takes about a week to complete. I left the store only buying a $3 string because they did not have the item they said was on stock. The two locations that Ive been too have a lot of work to do. I am sad to inform I wont return.
The store was great when I first walked in. Needed a part and greeter was helpful in calling someone from the service dept..When this person appeared he was not happy for some reason and rolled his eyes. Ask what I need and when I explained and showed him he replied about an issue that I did not speak of. When I responded that was not what was asked. He said oh well I still can not help you with that walked away. ( all I need was screw for a turning peg)
We loved The Guitar Store in Arlington today!! Their website showed real time in store products. We confirmed by phone and just like Gary promised on the phone the 8 string guitar was waiting for us by the register! We had called, searched online, and went to every music store and we could not find an 8 string guitar. Arlington said they had it in the store, the one we saw on their website!! We drove from Dallas to Arlington after a sandwich at MacAlisters we three said lets go!! Wow what a rush of energy!!! We had found it and there was just that one 8 string electric guitar left!!! They held in to it behind the counter for us. Gary was there and knew who we were immediately!! My son plugged it in and played it!! Wow his smile was as bright as the sun! It is the best Christmas ever!! He has not stopped playing it since we got it. Awesome!! Thanks Gary from The Guitar store in Arlington.
LOVE how awesome the employees are!! Incredibly helpful & phenomenal prices on everything. Im STILL shocked that we were able to get my daughters guitar fixed in ONE night, for ONLY $80!!!MOST other businesses quoted at LEAST $200+.Been coming here for years & will keep coming - They have a Lifelong Loyal Customer, here!
So yes they have guitars, lots and lots and lots of guitars. Both new and used. And yes they have everything to go with your guitar. Amps, cables, stands, strings, and everything else. But there is lots more, drums in every brand and color. Cymbals throne, hardware and everything else. But dont stop there keyboards, sound systems, mic, speakers, boards and d oui n forget lighting.
Called ahead to make sure a used mic was still in stock, got told that it was and had my name taken to hold for me. Proceeded to make the 45 minute drive to get there and when I get there and see the mic on the counter I tell an employee my name and inquire about it then get told, “oh , I just sold that to that guy. I didn’t even know anyone called about it.” Well that’s just great… Kudos to the other guy for being at the location first and buying it but I was told it was going to be held for me… unfortunately over the past 10 years this location has let me down again and again. The quality of employees (at least the ones I interact with) has declined substantially which I hate saying because I’m sure they got some stars, but I can’t say I’m going to be doing business here anymore. You would hope for better service after you’ve spent thousands of dollars there.
Among the better Guitar Center locations, an acoustic room full of treasures, a nice selection of electric basses and knowledgeable staff. The best part was running into a brand new bassist that we were able to give some helpful pointers to. Its never too late to make music! If you need instruments or supplies, they usually have sales going on. A life without music is hardly worth living. Make your own sounds with the help of Guitar Center!
Got told that the sound system I bought from them was a terrible choice.. Kept trying to upsell me out of my budget to the point of me having to openly say, I dont have the moneyAt that point the salesman lost interest and sufficed with just selling me what I showed up to buy..
I have bought couple guitars here, store is Cool and have a lot of variety. I bought a classic guitar Last week and one string broke. They want to charge 30 bucks for a strings change. I think that price its Just stupid. I think they should do it for free at least if you Just bought the guitar. What a Shame. Guitars its the ir specialty they should fix that price.
I recently placed a pickup order for an electric guitar at your store. I was surprised to find out that there was an inventory error and the item was no longer in stock at your store, but after speaking with Nicholas on the phone to confirm the store did not have it he was able to reach out to another store on my behalf.I appreciate the extra mile he went to make my order as seamless as possible.I hope this review helps shine a light on his great customer service.Thank you for hiring such an amazing employee!
This store is horrible!!!!!!! First time I came with my kids, some old man(Caucasian)that worked there followed us around the store and if we were going ti steal something. Mind you we are African American and at the time were the only ones of that race at the time. He literally followed us into each room. He had my kids nervous that he was going to do something crazy(considering the current racial issues if today). Never had an issue like this in any other guitar center Ive ever been to until I moved to Texas. Guess in better off ordering from another company cause this should never happen at any store. 10 thumbs down
I recently visited my local guitar center looking for some software for my new DAW. I was greeted when I walked through the entrance by the manager. I went back to the pro audio department and walked around that area three times and was never acknowledged by the salesman in that department. I didnt see the product I was looking for so I started to leave. The manager approached me on the way out and asked me what I was looking for. He dialed that department and after waiting a bit the rep finally answered the phone. I was told that product is not carried in-store and only available online. How come the GC website does not tell you that? Guitar Center is far from its Glory Days and if they dont find some better help, people like myself will just purchase the item online which is exactly what I did. I found it for less and it is being shipped to my door for free shipping via FedEx. Wake up GC. Youre losing the battle!
Terrible customer service. I went into the store to buy a new rack system for my drum set and they didnt have a single rack on the floor. I went in with cash in hand to buy the rack and clamps, a whole new set of cymbals, a new high hat stand, new double kick pedal and heads for my 7 piece kit. I never even got an opportunity to tell the sales associate that I was there for more than the rack system before I was basically dismissed and he walked out to the main customer service desk to go talk to his buddies on staff. I guess talking to your coworkers is more important than making a sale for your company. Also, the person working the drum section tried up selling warrantees to the customer ahead of me numerous times which was a big turn off. Needless to say I didnt purchase anything there and they will no longer be getting any buisness from me or any band members of mine. Too bad you missed out on selling me around $3,000 in merchandise because thats what I was planning on spending at your store. Ill be taking my cash elsewhere from now on.
This is honestly the best Guitar Center I have ever dealt with. The employee named Christian was extremely helpful. He went out of his way finding me a case that I thought was initially lost or would never receive it. This guy is one of the best employees in this store, I would totally recommend. Honestly this guy deserves a raise. 10/10
Its been a few years since Id been to this location. I like the layout and the staff seemed pretty cool. I dont like the number of guitars locked up on the racks. I understand some of the really high line models but there were a lot that were locked that didnt seem that outstanding.
Staff is nice and helpful but the company posts items available that arent in the store. Went to pick up some speaker cords they had them online for $7 but in store the only thing they had was over $15. Ahh the price we pay for convenience. Ill just order from Amazon next time.
Tried to buy a couple items today. Walked through the store, past several employees, to the acoustic section. When I got to that there the one employee said hello and left. Looked around for a few minutes (10-15) but nobody ever came back. I could not find what I was looking for so I left. Tried to buy a music stand but once again could not get any help even while standing at the checkout counter. There were several employees scurrying around but none seemed to have an actual mission. As you can tell I won’t be back, and will buy online.
Never online order through them. I spent almost 2 grand in this store in June on DJ equipment and have all my receipts to prove this is not a fake post. I have never had an issue before this.. I purchased a case for over 200$ on July 2nd and I still have not received it. The store proves my business did not matter because they have done nothing to help me find my order. I have physically gone up there 3 times and every time they tell me this is an issue they are having and take my number and tell me the right guy to talk to is off but no one ever calls the next day. They have never offered to callthe company or give me any valid explanation besides so so will get back to you. I dont see any real concern from the staff. This charge on my bank account for $232 keeps pending and then re pulling out of my account I have pending charge on 8/2 and still no sign of the product I ordered and no follow up on where my product is. So unprofessional I will never purchase again. I was so relieved to find a place I liked to buy equipment. The experience has been terrible now. I could have ordered a case myself if I knew it would be handled so poorly and my account would be holding a charge for almost 6 weeks. Since the store doesnt return my calls anyways I dont expect to get any further help from this post but prevent further customers from making the same mistake.
I wasnt able to return / exhange my Christmas gift. The website said returns accepted until the end of January. They said it was purchased at the end of November so nthey wouldnt help me. It was a gift, I dont know when it was purchased. I had been a customer for over two decades but Im going to avoid Guitar Center, Musicians Friend, and all related companies going forward. Ive spent so much money with them...
It’s a great place for family. They’re really nice and helpful when you need a purchase done. I took some piano classes and vocal lessons there and the teachers were astounding! Extremely friendly and easy going. You’re in great hands because they need to have a degree in their instrument and pass a way to teach there! Best place so far for lessons!
I foolishly waited to buy the guitar I had picked out as a Christmas present until the Saturday before Christmas (late paycheck, thanks 2020), so I called when they opened that morning to check stock, not only were they out at my store, but in all of DFW!! Ohh no!! I think to myself scrambling for other options, kicking myself for procrastinating. BUT!! Not only did the sales rep Chris give me other comparable options over the phone but informed me of how they differed from the model I originally picked out. When I went in about a half hour later, he showed me what he had recommended and played them for me so I could hear the differences! Christmas saved thanks to a bada$$ sales rep, honest information, and easy buying experience!!! Will definitely visit again for future needs! Thank you Chris and guitar center!!!
I inquired through the website about a set of used congas. I received an email almost immediately from CHASE and he was very accommodating. He even let me know he would be out of the store for a few days and gave me the contact info of a coworker that could help me. That is great customer service! Unfortunately, the Arlington store did not have exactly what I was looking for but I did make a purchase with another Guitar Center location after contacting several other locations. Every employee I spoke to at the numerous stores I contacted were also very helpful and pleasant. I highly recommend shopping with Guitar Center!!
I dont really like their customer service. If you dont have many giutars to sell is ok but dont shake your head in front of customer and say YA WE DONT HAVE MANY. Just try to help even if you have few options, ask some questions from customer. Basically they dont have desire to sell something in my opinion.
Super knowledgeable guys working here, never be afraid to ask for advice because the staff is more than willing to school you on all musical subjects. Prices vary but are pretty fair for what theyre selling. Also I find that ordering parts with them is a really great experience that takes little effort on your part. Rock on🤟🏻
Very friendly and helpful staff!! We are new to the Guitar World and we had several staff members walk us through different types of guitars and even someone who specifically scheduled guitar lessons and was able to get us in for an initial complimentary lesson just for walking in that day! Amazing! We will be back very soon!
I buy all my sound equipment here b/c it is top notch quality. The staff is always knowledgeable and Ive had no issues. Sometimes, it can be hard finding a staff member, so go when is not busy. After I bought my equipment, an employee called me to ask how everything was working for me. I thought that was cool. But then he called me three more times over the next three months and I finally had to tell him that I was okay and that I didnt need anymore equipment.
The staff at this location is great and very patient. I’m pretty green at playing guitar and purchasing equipment. They do stay very busy, but as long as you don’t mind waiting your turn then it’s fine. I actually don’t mind having the extra time to figure out what I need then ask my questions instead of wasting a ton of time. I’ve bought two acoustic guitars, wireless mics, wireless guitar systems, and a monitor all for church use over the last 6 months. The pricing can be better on other websites, but the thing that keeps bringing me back to Guitar Center is the peace of mind I have with the return policy. I had to return $2k worth of unopened equipment purchased from the Pro Audio guys and they were great about it. I was concerned about having to return something that we had spent so much time deciding on and that had a decent price tag on. Then my next time in I was greeted with the same great enthusiasm and friendly customer service. Thanks Myles!I can’t think of the guy’s name in the acoustic room, but he recommended a Takamine to me and after getting it home and now playing it for several months at church I’m convinced that he nailed that guitar choice for right under my budget. This summer I’d like to purchase a Taylor or Gibson and I will definitely be going back to talk to him in-depth before making that kind of investment.
My experience was horrible! I waited my turn out side to Social Distance and none people of vor just walk up into the store and demand service. My service was so rushed that after visiting twice, I didnt get half the things that I need because they were so busy try to satisfy other customers after me. I dropped off three guitars for service and brought two hundred worth of junk and missing parts after standing in the hot sun. Then after taking another 23 mile drive to get more junk thats incomplete, they a me when I. 10 minutes out and said come pick up my guitar its ready! Im like No, im taking it all back tomorrow and getting a total refund. I cant do this with them.
They have everything you would ever need for audio or music. The layout of the store is pretty great as well. I saw an area for guitar lessons. There are sections for everything. But even if you have trouble finding something, they have plenty of friendly and helpful staff ready to help you find what youre looking for. Only complaint I have are the prices. Theyre definitely steep on things that could cost much less somewhere else and be the exact same quality, if not better. But its still a great spot to get that cord or power supply you need for your microphone you didnt know you needed when youre in a pinch.
Really good place. I went to the one in Fort Worth first and the customer service is nowhere close to the one in Arlington. I heard them complaining about disinfectant guitars the people try and end up not buying. I had a guitar that I saw online and was supposed to be available and it seems like it overwhelmed and frustrated them. I spent the $450 beginner budget at the Arlington location and it was totally worth it.
I learned a lesson about buying used guitars from the Guitar Centre… dont do it! I purchased a Manuel Rodriguez Acoustic guitar In 2018. Very seldom played it. But while hanging on my display wall, the anchor bridge that anchors the strings to the body, all of a sudden dislarged from the body with the strings still attached. They want a $100.00 to repair it.No thanks! Never had a problem with their new products over the years, but Ive learned my lesson on used.
Love guitar center, but this time the did not carry a lot of the in the middle priced guitars, as a married person and electric guitar aficionado I do not have a big budget, enough to buy over the 400 dollar equipment. They were lacking of a lot of ibanez and Jackson brands, understandably due to the pandemic.
There was a time (5-6 years ago) when this facility had a great Sales Staff. Knowledgeable, and willing to work for a sale in such a way GC made out reasonable, and the customer (me) would happily walk out with new high end purchase. Now, it is a chore just to get someone to move their butt out from behind the counter. Lazy and non-caring is the best I can describe. Absolutely no knowledge on how to go about a sale. Best they stick with pedaling cheap goods and accessories. Should be right at home with that approach.
They had a used guitar in stock according to Guitar Center online, I emailed the store for more info, Andrew called me back and gave me great accurate details, and when I couldnt get the online purchase to work I called the store and Andrew was great at getting the sale done and shipped to my house, Shipped the next day (it was late when at called) and it was packed amazingly perfect (always scarry to think how they get handled in shipping) and arrived safe and on time. The guitar is great, Great overall experience. (by the way this on a $200 guitar, not some high priced guitar) Living a thousand miles away I couldnt shake their hands so they get this review instead.
The staff is extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile to get what you need and to keep you informed along the way. They dont push the warranty on new guitars, but I would definitely consider it. It pays off in the long run, just in case an accident happens!
Reading the reviews from other people got me a little confused about my experience there. I walked in and it was busy. I was at the cedar hill location and they did not have what I was looking for but said that the Arlington location did. I waited for a member to clear out to clear out for about 20 minutes. Then a manager walked by and I asked him if he could get the pedal for me. He said “those guys will get it for you”. I get that that’s probably not his job but if the store is busy, he should be helping customers even if it takes 1 minute out of his busy duties. He went to a little room and spent time looking at his phone after he told me he could not get what I had come in for.
This store is one of a kind ,hard to find items elsewhere can be found here. The customer service was very helpful and courteous. I found the mixer cable I needed and they had several styles and assorted prices to choose from. Will continue to shop here for my audio needs
I have to say that we had a great experience buying our guitars from the Guitar Center in Arlington. I played a little when I was younger but put it down for almost 25 years and my husband is just starting so we weren’t the most informed customers. Chris Bonner helped us and he is super nice guy, and seemed genuinely knowledgeable about guitars in general and actually plays, which seemed not to be the case at some other locations. I mean, if you’re buying a guitar, unless you’re an expert yourself, you want to speak to someone who can answer your questions and advise you. Chris helped us pick out good quality instruments that we are extremely pleased with. We won’t even hesitate to drive back to Arlington for any other products or services we need. It’s totally worth the drive from west Fort Worth. Not only are the staff ‘in the know’ and so helpful but this location is literally packed to the rafters with a huge range of instruments and other equipment. We could’ve spent hours in this store. I HIGHLY recommend the Arlington Guitar Center. And thanks again, Chris!
For the most part I have had pretty pleasant experiences at this location. However, there has been an occasional hiccup in the quality of customer service as far as attentiveness is concerned. Also, I had to return an item once and an employee was extremely rude to me, almost as if he had some sort of personal vendetta or something against me. (And I had my receipt along with proof of purchase on file in the company server, and it was within 30 days, and still in original packaging). So he was just being extremely rude because he was having a bad day I guess. Plus they are too expensive and a bit snobby in my opinion. Other than that, glad to have them nearby.
Hey Guys just wanted to say Thanks again for the great service over the years. This last trip in Duncan helped me with a used classical guitar, and also a mike stand that I needed!Big thanks also for Bruce (manager)we got to talking about how long the store had been there!Since 93 I think, and I’ve been a regular since then, lots of great guitars I’ve purchased over the years. Gosh my old Gibson ES-135., a baby Martin that I still have, Taylor GS 8e , a dlx 214 ce, lots of other miscellaneous guitar items. Strings, Capos, Cases, too many to list! Thanks for all the great service, looking forward to seeing y’all more often!Denton Frenette.
Great place to buy musical instruments strings effects I really like the staff there friendly service is good. They have a large selection if youre in town and need a pair of strings or some pics and want to just sit down and imagine buying an expensive guitar you can sit down and play it and go off in Fantasyland.
Very disappointing experience we had at their Arlington store. We put in a deposit on a used guitar and was instructed to come back in a couple of days to pick it up. The guitar was for my son who was so excited only to receive a phone call on the day that we were supposed to pick it up that it was sold to somebody else! Again, very disappointing that they would treat their customers that way
I got a great deal on a guitar. Unfortunately the setup did not include adjusting the buzz out of the neck. I asked to get that fixed, and after returning fifteen minutes later, I discovered that cost another fifty bucks on top of the setup fee. And now the buzz is back. Whatever dude.
Some of the employees are nice and helpful and some are just plain rude and lazy. Asked for a guitar to see if they had any in stock brand new inside a box and was told yes from an employee. After waiting for almost 30 minutes and no answer he came back and was like someone else is back their looking for it. I waited a little longer and finally I decided to walk out with no guitar. Very disappointed on the rude service. Guitar center needs to step up with their rude employees and get their inventory right! Especially at this area.
I think this store has to be one of the best. Under the store manager Dan Granado, the employees are friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and eager to answer all my questions. I bought all of my percussion and accessories at this store. If you want to talk to someone who is glad you are there, and actually use the words Thank you for your business, this is the place. Way to go guys...keep it up.
Sadly, my experience here wasnt good. We were there for about 15 min waiting at the Guitar counter and no one would come help us. We made eye contact with several employees, but still no service. So, I guess I will just order online since they lack cuatomer service. Id like to give my experience there ZERO stars.
My dad has bought two guitars from guitar center in the past year. He went into his nearest guitar center (in Kansas City) to purchase a 3rd guitar which is a Christmas present to me. The guitar he purchased was at a different location, in Vegas, and was to be shipped to this guitar center in Arlington. Took them 8 days just to ship it, he had to call and complain multiple times, they apologized and agreed to upgrade the shipping for free. Then, UPS took another 6 days to get it delivered, it’s supposedly supposed to arrive Monday. So much for upgraded shipping. Still haven’t received my guitar. We’ve agreed that this is the last time we will be purchasing from guitar center.
Ridiculous, I waited over 30min to get in. I was third in line and watched six people come out before they let me in. Not only that but you have to have a mask to enter, funny since the employees werent all wearing one. Guitar Center generally is unimpeachable but they are currently weaker than 10yr old elastical bands.
These guys were good, but it would have been nice if they had tried to replace the item they were out of instead of trying to sale me something that I was not interested in. This was during Christmas last year, but I am hoping that they will have improved their salesmanship by now.
Raz!!! I hope I spelled your name right!!! Awesome guy with an outstanding personality and very helpful he even remembered me from the last time I came in and which to me is a huge deal in sales and really makes you feel welcomed and I feel great about my purchase as I left! Really cool guy along with the rest of the staff I ran into. Thanks for the help Raz!
I have been going to this location since its inception. Have spent a lot of money in this store over the years. I went there today after not having gone for about three years and noticed right away a remodel had taken place. No biggie, I spotted the acoustic guitar room in more or less the same spot in the back and headed back. All of the high end guitars were locked in the hangers. No big deal except no one is around to unlock them. I want to play about 4 of them. A couple 900 Taylors, a Gibson SJ and something else. I waited and then left after about 25 minutes...The lack of access and assistance cost the store a sale. A 5000.00 sale. It used to not be like this. The stock on electrics was lackluster.
This used to be a good store, and thats why I gave them a good shot at my business. I have bought basses, amps, and countless cables from these guys over the past few decades. I brought my merchandise in for trade, and though the kid was trying to be helpful, it was as painful as a trade in at a crooked used car lot with one of those Bozo Sales Managers. The one thing I hate about dealing with lazy people is that feel if I go out of my way to do business with you, like 28 miles, then perhaps at least stepping out of your office to say hello would be helpful. Instead I got the kid going back and forth with the infamous, well let me see what the manager says...line of B.S. for over an hour. The manager--who I later found was actually the Assistant Manager----- never even stepped out of the office, but I could see hes in their talking to The Hot Chick In The Office. ..and no he isnt on his phone or computer, and no I dont know what they were talking about for over an hour....I just know theyre sitting there talking and laughing while this poor kid is forced to go through the motions of pretending he knows what he is doing. The kid comes back with a super low ball offer, and believe me, I know they need to offer 40% vs. what they can sell it for...Ive been in retail. ....DUH!....I get it. Well this is more like 30%....but I want a specific amp, and I told the kid, if he could get the meter to move $40 in my favor which is like an additional 5%. Id make that amp grow legs. He goes to talk to the manager...another 20 minutes goes by, and he comes out and says, well maybe you guys can talk in an hour or so....at that point...I simply walked. The next day I went to The Music Go Round in Ft. Worth, and they not only gave me their undivided attention....they gave me 50%. The deal was signed sealed and delivered in 35 minutes flat....signed check in hand. Sadly, The next day, I had to go back to Arlington GC to pick up a used bass cabinet I had had shipped in from their Conneticutt Store. Despite the delivery notice on my phone, the same kid who had to stumble around with no help from his lazy manager the day before cant find it...but he does get help. I unpack it myself because I wanted to make sure it was not a DOA at this point. It had a quarter jack with speak on connector, so I asked if they had a cable I could test it with. Not only did they supposedly...not have one , they asked me if I wanted to BUY one......If Id have thought an instrument warehouse was that poorly equipped Id have brought the cable I had at home...and after the adventures the day before......I simply walked for good...speaker in hand. Thank G*d the speaker works. I doubt I will ever set foot in that store again. .....Two Stars only because they used to treat me well in years gone by and they still have a decent selection. (Just dont ask for a demo cable or a fair price on your trade in.)__HOWEVER____I am upgrading the two stars from this review as the management heard about my story, referenced my past history, and asked me to come ion personally. We managed to cu a deal, on a few smaller items, and they treated me very well. The Customer service manager asked me to personally make him my go to guy, and ask for him whenever I am in the store. They went out of their way to make things right, so Ill give them two stars back.I am sorry it really had to turn into a two day nightmare before all this could come about and we could mend fences. My very first bass upon my return to Texas over 25 years ago came from this very store. I really hate burning bridges with long term business relationships.
Spent over two hours looking for a guitar for a birthday present & not once was I approached for assistance or even greeted & when I got in line to finally purchase the guitar I was completely ignored & watched multiple sales associates just look at me waiting in line & walk away & pay no sort of attention to me at all which just made me incredibly frustrated to the point where I wanted to leave & take my business elsewhere. Its like this location doesnt know what good customer service is.
Staff needs to either brush up on their knowledge, or learn when to say, I dont know, but Ill try to find out instead of making something up. Having a music specialist tell me that rosin is, great to leave on the wood of a violin because it helps condition the wood and also improves the sound of the instrument is ridiculous! Gives me zero faith that I can expect to get good information and/or advice from anyone in the store now.
Guitar Center has been a staple business, and landmark, in Arlington, TX for years! They have a huge selection of instruments and recording equipment. Their service was great. Chase (aka Nephilism) helped us with a wing bolt we need replaced for my daughters Roland electric drum kit. They dont stick it so he had to call a Roland distribution to get the part. He was really helpful and really nice. We had fun checking it all the different gear and playing with instruments and microphones. Good times!/** If you read this review and it helped in any way please give it a thumbs up! **/
Although I did not make a purchase, there was a gentleman named Larry who was quite knowledgeable on guitars and took good care of me. When i make a decision on which guitar I want, I will for be seeing him again. Also, this location has quite a selection of used instruments. Go check em out.
One thing I really like about Guitar Center is that they offer instruments and a wide range of prices. This particular location has undergone some positive changes in the past that I think really helped with the shopping experience people the selection is great, and the store is really well organized, designed organized and laid out.
Guitar center is the best place to go for instruments because, they always have the best price. The employees know what they are talking about and seem pretty cool. They have a huge wall of guitars and other instruments all around. I subscribed to their emails (which is free) and theyll send you decent coupons (my last one was 15% off a qualifying item [saved me $50]) and they also have coupons who download the app and have their magazines sent to your address (again for free).
I will likely never have a reason to become a patron at Guitar center. My work has me out all the time so I dont really get to spend time or money on hobbies, which is what I would say most people who come to Guitar Center come here for..But its nice to come here and look at the cool electronic instruments. The drums are pretty sweet and the acoustic guitar showroom is cool as well. Maybe Ill get my daughter into this type of thing when she gets to that age, but until then I can only comment on how nice everybody is - employees and customers. I like to walk here with my daughter and wife in tow and we always spend 20 minutes or so looking at all the stuff. Time and time again, Im never bothered (in a bad way) by the staff. Theyre always asking me if they can help me. After that, Im alone to do what I want.
Worst experience ever here my first time ever I had placed an order for an Akai MPC LIVE I PAID 11 hundred dollars up front even paid next day shipping not only was it late a whole WEEK WHEN I GOT HOME WITH MY ORDER. They told me they would pre order me a mpc live two in Their inconvenience with them the last time we negotiated businessAll I WANTED WAS A NEW PRODUCT IN THE BOX I GUESS THAT WAS TOO MUCH TOO ASK FOR !!From GUITAR CENTER!The whole point of me going and shopping at guitar center was for me to get something brand new if I had wanted to buy something that was used I would’ve went to a pawnshop or bought this off of Facebook or somethingOkay soo today IS THE DAYTHE UPDATEJune 25 thI TAKE BACK MY COMPLAINT THEY FIXED AN RESOLVED EACH ISSUE ! Great MANAGEMENT TEAM THAT GOT ME WHAT I NEEDED AND WANTED THANK YOU !
I came to this guitar center misled by another guitar center employee at another location. He told me I could come to the guitar center and pick up my order after paying for my item at his store because they didnt have it In inventory. To begin with the employee at the cedar hill location said he ordered the item for pick up at i75 location. Once at the i75 location the employee who helped me there told me the item was for pick up at the Arlington location. Finally after running around and going to this store in Arlington and getting help from Steve. Steve tells me the item was ordered from KC and would no be there until 4 days. I was mad they had me running around so much so Steve got his manager Randy and explained the situation. Randy got me taken care of by not making me wait for 4 days and giving me the item from in store. Randy and Steven were great and Im thankful for employees like them at GuitarCenter!Thank you guys for your hard work !
This store is the worst.. I go in to buy a new bass. Explain to the sales guy I dont play bass ask him if he can pick it up plug it in slapping a couple times. Hes like do it yourself.. wth no big deal I guess I ordered the same bsss from someplace else. I will get it couple days later.. not pay any tax and get a free cable and tuner for the same price. thank you Guitar Center for making me purchased elsewhere. Oh and the $100 other stuff I was going to buy.. Ill go to the Louisville store for that its only 30 more miles away. I have a loyalty for people that help me.
Do not attempt to buy a piano here. I went in on a Saturday night wanting to buy a digital piano. Apparently this is not what the keyboard section of the store is for. You must be wearing all black, look a little dodgy, and play obnoxiously loud jazz piano or really bad church/stage piano, and stare at people creepily. Then when a legit customer tries to listen to the quality of a piano, you must turn your volume up so they cant hear. The floor models are so worn out you cant get a good idea of what youd be buying. And not a single employee attempted to help us shop. My mistake, wont happen again.
Brought my guitar to this location to sell it. Was originally offered $250 for my guitar by an employee named josh. I refused his offer but about an hour later came back to accept his offer. He denied he had offered me anything and then insulted me with a very low offer. The manager was super cool and tried to make it right. Tho he couldnt find my model of guitar anywhere he proceeded to say that all models are similar??? Tho the prices ranged from $250 to over a $1000 on the page he had pulled up??? I wasted my time i feel like a liar and feel that I have done something wrong when all I wanted to do was sell my guitar for the amount they offered me in the first place. I have been a guitar center customer for 15 years but I think I will just stick to ordering my gear from Sweetwater and sell my gear on my own.
Guitar Center will either be an extremely positive experience or a negative experience. It is rarely in the middle. You will either get someone who cares about you and your purchase or you wont. Never believe that a coupon will work because it wont. There are so many restrictions that it never seems to work. Just make sure you are up front about what you need.
Half the guitars seem broken. I go to play a nice $1400 strat and the volume knob seems like its holding on by a thread. I go play another its broken too. They all have ancient strings and no where close to being in tune. What fun is it to have to tune every guitar before its playable, and thats if the strings arent crusted over with greasy garlic bread fingers....Its a really nice building and location. If they hired people with some competence I wouldnt be buying all my gear from online retailers
Its the long store hours and the wide variety of equipment for any musician that earns Guitar Center three stars. Thats probably true of any store location. Ive shopped at the Arlington, TX store many times, and have spent a few thousand dollars there over the last 20 years. Their prices are fair, and the instruments Ive bought turned out to be as good as the staff claimed.Getting there in the first place is always frustrating. The store *appears* to face Collins Street at a major intersection, but you cant get there that way. You have to take the intersecting street, Lamar Blvd., and turn on Ryan Plaza Drive, a small street thats easy to miss.Like the other reviewers, Ive had problems with the staff. For one example, one day I wanted an amp emulator, but I didnt know what they were called nowadays. I tried explaining to the saleswoman, You know, things like the Tom Scholz Rock Box, which is a dated but famous reference. She was young, and hadnt a clue what I was talking about -- so she shrugged it off. She wasnt interested, and didnt go ask anyone. I wound up so frustrated I said, You know what, never mind. Ill ask a man. Which was a vile thing to say; Im sure many women know guitar gear better than I do, but its not as if I walked in there planning to say something sexist to a woman. I let her bad attitude get to me.I dont like that they ask you your name every time you make any purchase, updating a file on you, and mailing promotional advertisements. I buy instruments or gear when I need them, not because theyre on sale. Also, if you visit any smaller, non-corporate music store, youll find that there doesnt need to be hard rock blaring in the background constantly, which seems to be the case at Guitar Center. It is very easy to go in there needing only some cords, strings, etc., but then get distracted by all the cool stuff displayed prominently. If something is on sale or being heavily promoted, you will see it.Again, if you sleep all day, and still need to pick up some gear or accessories, Guitar Center is open til 9PM on weekdays, and that makes it worth tolerating their lesser qualities.
When I visit a Guitar Center, I usually find their employees to be condescending. Not all, but quite a large percentage. I usually find this to be more true if you are trying to trade in gear. Well, earlier this week I decided to branch out and try the Arlington location instead of the Hulen store even though it was an extra 20 minute drive for me. Im glad I did.I had the intention to trade a couple of guitars I hardly use for something I would play more often. I saw a used LTD Elite Eclipse I that I was interested in and an employee named Todd got it down from the top rack for me and left me to jam on it, occasionally coming over to ask me if I was still doing okay. I had some concerns with the volume knob being loose and Todd tightened it up for me, but then went above and beyond by taking the back plate off so we both could evaluate the electronics to make sure everything else was copacetic. I was impressed with the fact that he took the initiative to make sure my concerns were definitively taken care of. Todd was extremely personable and a joy to work with, which is something I can rarely say when I talk about Guitar Center.Long story short, I ended up trading both of my guitars for that LTD. No, I was not completely happy with how much my trades were valued at. (Who is though??) What truly sold me was Todds customer service. He even worked with me on pricing and met me in the middle of what I was trying to accomplish financially. I had no problem spending more than I wanted/expected to because of his excellent service. This was probably the first time I traded with Guitar Center and left completely satisfied with the store. A little customer service goes a long way, and thats a quality that a lot of Guitar Center employees lack. Fortunately for me I met Todd, and he will definitely who I work with from now on. Thanks, Todd!
Went to get some strings today for a multiscale 5 string bass. Nothing too exotic. Guitar center didnt have ANYTHING for me. Said i would have to order online. STRINGS? I already have mixed feelings toward guitar center, but this was the final straw. If I cant find strings for my instrument, why would i go to you for anything else? Youve already forced me to go elsewhere.
Even though they are out of stock on an item they will not restock it unless you pay for the item first which how am I going to be able to check out the equipment I want like all the stuff on their wall if theyre sold out the glory of going to Guitar Center to hold and feel the instrument you want to play before purchase
Guys Watch out for the sneaky promotions! Bought $1500 worth of stuff because the rep said it was 20% back in gift cards. They told me to wait till end of march. Well I just checked my email at the end of march and it arrived 17th into my spam. The only problem is is was only good for 5 days!! Called Patrick Manager at Arlington store and he wouldnt give me a straight answer on what he would do. He wanted me to come in and then based on what I would buy he would then tell me what he would do.
I was there to change 5th string of my jackson rose floyed guitar. Cause i never had rose floyed before and i did not know how to change and tune string. They said i need guitar setup. I left my guitar to do it and went back there next day to pick it up. Paid $60 plus tax but string was too tight and action was high. I told them about it and left my guitar there. Got call after 3 days to come and get guitar. I went back there and checked my guitar, they fixed that problem but there was new problem. 4th, 5th and 6th string was buzzing bad. I call another employee to see if he can hear buzz and we could hear on Amp. But Repair guy said, “i can not fix it thats all i can do.” And he asked another $30. I was like for what ? He did nit fix that string buzz and charged me another $30 plus tax. I paid almost $100 and still has string buzz. Now if i go to another place, i am gonna have to spend another $60 dollor. i will never go back to this place again. If you guys know best place to fix with resonable price please let me know.
Great deal on holidays.Make sure to ask for their montly magazine.I had bought all my live sound and drums / cymbols from the 75 locations and lbj.Sometimes you will find great deal on used stuff. Also the benefit is that you can play , test any instrument equipment you like. Some times the staff is not very helpful.. Do your research before buying. The only downsize. They dont like people that ask a lot of questions..
It suck. Bought a new guitar and accessories. Probably spent way to much went back to pick up new guitar asked sales guy to adjust the strings. He adjusted one handed the guitar back and walked away. Didnt even ask if I needed help so I had to repack the guitar but I got to leave a mess behind with empty boxs and packing bubbles all over the counter. If cant do your job as a sales person find another job. I got better service at the Hulen store

2021-07-18Great place for music supplies. Picks, straps. Replacements and just anything you could generally think of music related. The service is great and the workers are very attentive if you need any help. They offer lessons, sale used instruments, new instruments and even the premium selection is pretty great

2022-05-03I was traveling through Dallas and staying for 6 days. My acoustic guitar needed set-up and the action improved. Took it to the store on a Sunday evening and was honestly surprised to find a guitar tech was there. Showed the guitar to the tech named Collin. He was great about listening to what I was looking to do to improve the playability of my guitar. He had it finished by Monday afternoon. I picked it up on Tuesday but Collin wasn’t working. I tried it out and was very pleased at how well it played. The action was significantly lower, the intonation was spot on and there was no fret buzz. Over the years I have had quite a few different luthiers and techs work on my guitars. I would highly recommend Collin for any work you need done.

2022-08-18By far this is the best Guitar Center in the metroplex! The store is super clean and organized. They have what appears to be the most in-stock inventory. However, in my visit I saw that there are items on the shelves that are not listed as in stock on the web/app.

2022-04-25Ordered something for same day pick up, was contacted that the item was not new in box and damaged. Offered for me to pick it up at other locations, all a fair distance from the original store. Told me it was sent to that store, drove an hour, only for it to be unprocessed when I arrived (contrary to what I was told) and had to wait another thirty minutes. Then I was told it would be “who knows” how long after it processed. Asked to cancel my order and was told it will take 3-5 days… then I get my receipt and it says 5-7 days.Wasted four hours of my day off just to have a few hundred dollars less in my wallet for who knows how long… three days is a lot different than seven! Won’t be going here again for awhile.

2022-08-21Its was like Yesterday_BeatlesI got and learned huge amount of knowledge about musical instruments. From cymbal to mini-grand pianos, those expensive giitars, I got a chance to play with the blue Martin ( series San Francisco tour)!?While I play, the sound of Taylor guitar made me cried like a baby.Thank you Micro Center.P.S. I am not comming to Guitar Center today. Sunday always crowded. Hasta manana.Arlington, 15:03 Sunday August 21, 2022Sàigòn, 3:03 sáng Thứ Hai 22 tháng Tám năm 2022.
