Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center in other cities:
The staff at the Bill T. Teague center is the absolute best- I have become a regular donor thanks to their care, warmth, and dedication to their donors well-being and safety. I had been a person who only gave once in a while at blood drives, but the team here has turned me into a regular donor- couldnt say enough good things about them! If you are hesitant, come on in- they will take care of you!
I’ve donated a lot of blood in my time and no one has ever taken the time to fully explain to me the value of donating platelets before Sarahi. She really changed my mind without being pushy. She was so sweet and knowledgeable and I felt so comfortable with her taking my blood. Great experience
This was my first time at this location and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The receptionist gave me such a warm welcome. I then sat with Dajai who was my screener, and we had great conversation. I then told my phlebotomist, Sarahi, about how nervous I was about donation and she made sure I felt okay through the entire process. She was extremely kind and tried keeping me distracted. From what else I saw, the other phlebotomists and staff are also just as kind and attentive. I am so glad to have chosen this location for todays donation.
My adult daughter and I gave blood yesterday here and they treated us like visiting royalty! From being greeted at the front to being escorted out the door an hour later, being brought snacks, and lots of solicitous treatment in between, it was a great experience. And we got to save lives!
Listen, first Id like to say that the Bill T. Teague location was very professional and accommodating. I love to donate platelets but the donation center i used to go, got a new schedule in which they cut off the times for platelet donors. Which brought me to the Teague center. From the first encounter Ms. Deja R. jokingly reminded me how long its been since I gave, and from that moment I felt at home. From the manager to the phlebotomist and the staff. They made you feel so good about saving lives..Lets not start on the snack choices, I mean I honestly believe that this location has first dibs on new snacks that are coming out..Overall, hats off to the Ms. Deja and the Teague family. From start to finish it was world class. Yes, Ms. Deja made sure she reserved my next donation in advance. The Teague donation center will now be my center of choice.
Easy online sign up on their website. I came to donate platelets for the first time today. Everyone was masked and helpful. I somehow worked myself into an anxious mess because of the platelet machine and the length of time it takes (I have medical anxiety apparently). But Kasey and the other staff were extremely nice, explained what was happening, helped calm me down and weren’t condescending in the slightest even though I was acting like a child. I don’t know if I’ll donate platelets again but probably will just donate whole blood. I appreciate the care they took to be kind and understanding which can be a rare experience these days.
I can usually tell when I have a new phlebotomist. They are usually a little nervous, awkward and unsure of themselves. Needless to say… that causes me to be apprehensive.Today a had a phlebotomist named Layla at the La Concha location. I had absolutely no idea that she was new until after the stick was done and I was almost finished. She was completely competent and confident in what she was doing. Kudos to Kayla and to those who trained her!
I had my first donation with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center today! I decided to do platelets as they only have a shelf life of 5 days so they need consistent donors. The snacks were amazing (yum-yum), and the staff were so kind to me.They made sure I was their top priority. I want to especially thank Cristi, Daniela, Brian and Kristal for being so nice to me while I was powering through the last 10 minutes of my donation! They made sure I had a great experience and I encourage everyone to donate to help save lives.
I signed up to give blood at mobile donor station, when I walked in to ask where I can park since they were in permit parking only lot, the staff said they did not know. I asked if I could park next to the mobile station and they staff said they did not know.....i asked what if I get towed, they said they were not responsible. I said, well i guess I cant give blood......GULF COAST, have designated parking!
The team here was incredible!! I visited for bone stem cell donation, and Jolanna (JoJo) was my nurse. She and the rest of the staff (Veronica and Betty) were INCREDIBLE. They had a crazy day happening but were extremely attentive and kind. They made the experience fun!
I have donated at this location multiple times, including through 2020 and COVID-19. I used the CFL Express Pass app to check in and complete the pre-screen questions (about 40) before I arrived. Just an option if you have free time before showing up. Ive encountered multiple phlebotomists and techs and they have been professional and courteous to me each time. I dont expect every one of them to be chipper conversationalists with me, and for me thats fine. I just expect competence, and they have delivered each time. The site is clean and the staff are masked (and I believe, gloved too). They are responsive and ask me how I am feeling through the donation process. I enjoy the plentiful salty snacks and juices available as well as the nice shirts (also got a cool hoodie couple times). The best part is when I get a notice that my blood is being sent to help someone who needs it. That keeps everything else in perspective!
The front desk receptionist was very rude when answering the phone. She dropped the call on me and when I call back to ask for her name she hung up on me again. Wow! This is the type of service this company offers. Terrible and horrible experience. Wont be calling here again! I hope management do something about this.
I would just like to start off by saying that Gulf Coast Regional Blood Centers staff over all was great. But I would like to mention one employee in particular David. He greeted me with a big smile on his face and treated me with the upmost respect from the second I walked in to donate. He was friendly, nice, and caring. Even though I couldn’t donate that day he made me feel like I still made a difference just by taking the time and coming in. I hope the next time I try to donate I see him again!
Their customer service is appalling!! I Donated twice, second time was convalescent plasma due to having covid. They’re good at calling when they need blood but bad at answering the phone when you have comments or concerns. I tried signing up to donate on December 10th but apparently I need to wait to receive my lab results via snail mail before doing so. The letter was sent out on November 17th to arrive the 20th, and it’s now December and I still don’t have the letter. So someone else now has my confidential results. Called multiple times over the span of 2 days and when i finally got through to someone the woman was extremely rude and told me “you need to just be more patient”. This is making me consider not donating through this organization again.
I am at event at the Lee and Jamail Skatepark. Person at the truck was very unprofessional. We asked how long the wait was he said 15 but did not mention we had to sign up. So while we were waiting outside a few other people walked in and he let them sign up. Not a good experience for a single parent who has been working all day and still takes time to donate with her son. Never donating again with people like that in those positions.
It seems the staff had some changes over in the last year, but the place generally seems busier now. The staff is great, though it didnt seem they noticed Id donated many times before and treated me like Id never done it before, which was slightly annoying, but I appreciate the efforts and concerns. The place is clean and the staff is very attentive and its giving for an amazing cause to save lives.
The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is an excellent place to give back to our community by donating blood on a consistent basis. The quality of service they give makes the process easy and effective. I would recommend going by 1 of there donor center or schedule for a mobile drive to experience the process. Thanks
My overall experience has been good through out the years, but it only took one time to seriously think about giving blood again. Blood leaked to my forearm from giving blood causing Hematoma (Painful bruise the size of my entire forearm, which caused sleep deprivation for more than 2 weeks) . Its been 3 weeks and the bruise is still there, gladly it doesnt hurt anymore. Personnel needs more training.
Today is Thursday August 31, 2017. I came in to donate blood because I read on their webpage that they were short due to Hurricane Harvey. I arrived at 1pm and communicated to them that I was a walk-in with no appointment and a first time donor. I signed in and they took my TDL. I was told the wait time was about 90 minutes. I agreed and understood the situation at hand. I waited and the 90 minutes passed by. At 3:15pm (135 minutes of waiting) I asked how much longer before they called on me. They told me there were 5 people ahead of me and that it would be at least another half-hour. They asked if they could reschedule me to come in on another day and time. So I just waited over 2 hours for nothing. They could have suggested this when I signed in instead of having me wait over 2 hours. Needless to say I asked for my TDL back and walked out of there. Ill be donating my blood elsewhere.
Research before you donate. This company has major issues with Assault, Racialism, Retaliation, Threats, Harassment, breaking company policy. Mistreating people shouldn’t be acceptable. By donating your blood you are helping them continue their abuse. Donating is a great cause. Donate somewhere else who treats their employees with respect.
There was another review that said it all: the telemarketing HAS to stop. I told them to take me OFF of their call list. Im a college student and its the most annoying thing ever to get multiple calls a day from Liverpool Texas with people asking me to make an appointment to donate more blood. I already donated with them, and its disheartening that they call so many times a week to get me to donate more.

2022-03-07Ive been donating at this location for many years. I did my 48th donation a few days ago. I keep returning because first I feel a responsibility to donate and a very near second is the exceptional experience provided at this location.Ive never had a bad experience at this location. Each time I visit it is like visiting old friends. But that is only one part of it. Every person there is professional in the very best use of the word. They all do their best to make donors comfortable and safe while at the same time meticulously documenting every step of the process. If you would like to donate but are understandably a bit nervous about it, go see these folks. I wont tell you that you wont experience some discomfort (after all there is a needle involved!) but I can assure you that this team will do their very best to make donating a positive experience. Please donate. You will feel great about it and your donation will make a difference.

2022-02-20Always an awesome experience! Highly skilled phlebotomist, friendly and helpful screeners. Very clean, organized - great experience every time! I try to go every 8 weeks. If they could do the source plasma on the weekends again… I would come more often.

2022-04-09Fantastic experience! Cristi, Brian, and Jessica were amazing. Took time to walk me through the types of donations, and during the process, we had a blast! We talked about what we were all making for dinner. It really made the experience fun and made the time pass by quickly. I will definitely be back!

2022-04-19The staff here is so professional and friendly. I have donated blood in other places but this is my favorite. The boss lady (I didn’t get her name) checked on me a number of times as did Ryan who was my guy. The two of them clearly know what they are doing, which made me feel very comfortable throughout the donation

2022-04-09I always enjoy donating at this location. I’ve met many different staff members, and all have been prompt, attentive and friendly. The donation process has always been smooth with no issues. Getting blood drawn is not exactly fun, obviously, but they ensure I feel comfortable and valued.

2022-03-01I have been donating at Champions since December of 2021. I also volunteer two days a week at Champions. The staff is great and many donors ask for specific techs. I have not had a bad experience at any time and I donate every three weeks.. I would recommend this location to anyone.

2022-02-26I have donated 14 times over the last two years at this Center. Every time the phlebotomists have been incredibly kind and gentle. Its such a pleasant experience that I keep coming back. If you want to give back to the community this is a great place to do so.

2022-04-15As usual, a great experience with efficient, friendly and professional staff. And they follow strict procedures to ensure safety and integrity of the blood that’s donated. Today, for example, Christine at the front desk, Gisell who checked me in, and Brian who drew my blood were wonderful to deal with and made it a fun experience. Great organization and people. Thank you!

2022-03-13The medical personnel there were very friendly and cordial, they answered all of my questions clearly on the different donation options and how they work. They let me know every step of the way as I was donating how the process works and how it’s going. They gave me the snacks I wanted with no problem. Their facility also has more options of donation than the trucks. Highly recommended to donate here!
