H-E-B in other cities:
Its a good general grocery store if you buy the typical American food or even Mexican or Tex-Mex food.If you are eating healthier, on a specific or particular diet, or limiting processed food youll really need to look at items and their ingredients. There is a very limited selection of organic fruits and vegetables. There are some organic and/or non-GMO items(processed) throughout the store but, again, very limited. Even these can sometimes have ingredients that ought to be avoided.Still much rather stop here, even if the items Ill be able to purchase is limited.
One star because this is a Texas based store and they still want to stop you, or make you jump thru hoops to carry your weapon to defend yourself incase of a emergency. Which is a God given right. So clearly they only care about the parts of the constitution that suits them. We have mostly switched to buying from local grocery stores that allows us to carry in anyway we want. Even if we pay a bit more. atleast we can help out the mom and pops stores in the area . And only shop there at heb for what we cannot find elsewhere. If we all do this we can reclaim our rights a little at a time.
This HEB is a gem. I order online, go to their curbside delivery area, and their personnel are like a well oiled machine: efficient and speedy despite the current holiday chaos. This staff is courteous and friendly. If you go into the store, it is always well stocked with everything you can imagine and more.
I will never shop here again. I waited for my curb side pickup for almost an hour. I work in retail and I know sometimes things happen but its not what they did its what they didnt do. The answer the excuse they gave me for not giving me my order from a manager was I have no idea. I just had surgery thats the reason I was doing pick up. I got no apology, no explanation, nothing. Very disappointed
This HEB is almost always busy, but they do a good job of staffing appropriately to handle all of the customers. The selection is pretty standard for an HEB although they have fresh tortillas from local tortillerias and barbacoa on Saturday mornings. My only wish is that they has Lays Salt and Vinegar chips!
This store has a lot of good fresh produce, meats and vegetables, that sort of thing. Its limited on a variety of other things, like canned goods, cereals, and condiments. The one big mark against this store is that since its close to the border, you get a lot of cross border traffic from Mexico and theyre usually pretty rude.
Really bad customer service they made fun of an elderly adult (my mom) . She forgot some shrimp that paid at the store then she found out and called to the storethe guy that answered told her that if she have the receipt she could go anytime and get them she asked him for his name and he said James ( false name he was making fun and pranking her) She went to the store and refuse to give the product because there was no James at the store they made her feel like she was lying and taking advantage and embarrassing her .They should show more respect to seniors or customers and not make fun on us .
UPDATE: My husband convinced me to visit again and although hesitant, I gave them a second chance. I Shopped for flowers and was very well taken care of by Sandra R. who helped me put together a beautiful bouquet and she was very friendly as well as had a very pleasant personality. Then at checkout, Cynthia M. was dealing with a hectic customer before me and she handles the situation with professionalism and her smile never faded despite the customer being rude and unpleasant to her. She greeted me with a smile and I told her about my previous experience and how her and Sandra changed my view of the store. Sadly, I saw Luis and the manager again and was not happy to see their faces, but hope they can too adopt Sandras and Cynthias attitude instead and learn from them on what customer service should be about. Bumping HEB to 3 stars instead of 1.Years without coming to HEB (since I was a minor) and I have always stuck with Walmart. Today, I came for the convenience of being near it for the moment being. I noticed big lines on 4 or 5 registers open and opted for the self checkout instead. My mistake was assuming and not seeing the sign on top that it was 10 items or less. The manager approached me as I am practically more than halfway done scanning and obviously I didn’t pay attention to the sign, instead of letting me finish, he tells me to put everything back on my cart and he will cancel the order. Strike one since I’m a fast scanner and almost done scanning my about 20 items or so. Then strike 2 at the register with Luis G. I get to his register and before he starts scanning, I tell him if I need to scan the box of juices (as it is heavy and I cannot lift it). He tells me no or I’ll get in trouble. Understanding. He asks me if I had any other items on the cart, I say no. He then tells the guy bagging while handing him the scanner “Here. Check to see if she has anything else on the cart.” The guy says “no”. I tell him that’s what I said. Like if I’m gonna steal anything for God’s sake! Never again coming to HEB. I’m sticking to Walmart where they have nice employees and no limit on the self checkout.
H-E-B in Eagle Pass is just better than Walmart. Nowadays that we have curbside, Ive had a better experience with them.Ok, so I wrote this post almost a year ago, they did a great job during the pandemic. Some of us still decide to use curbside a year later, and its very frustrating to wait 20 minutes when you were the first car here and other cards are being tended to. Also, its very annoying that lazy people do not want to park in regular parking spots so they take up curbside parking. I mean I know its not packed at curbside usually, but its ridiculous that an able-bodied person has to take up one of these spots.
Upon entry I always get greeted at the door, cashiers are always friendly, the people in produce are very helpful, Meat market has a large variety of cuts and cuts that come pre seasoned. Cakes and donuts are really tasty( I can never just have one donut!). I always get in and out pretty fast. Be aware that the store requires for you to purchase plastic bags or take plastic bags. I’m adding this, so it no longer comes as a shock to those who do not know
Pretty much the best store for exotic/rare with high quality variety groceries in all Eagle Pass... There isnt much variety as walmart in electronics, toy aisle, frozen aisles and prepared food/snacks aisles, but a really good place when you are looking for ingredients with high quality meats, vegetables and fruits.
I remember my first time going their because i was lost and great and wonderful workers helped me out !Great food for great prices.Always have great deals going on.When im in town i always want to get my groceries here !Love itNever leave the store unsatisfied !Cashier are super nice and friendly
Prices are good, selection is reasonable. However, the parking lot needs some control. There are arrows showing the flow of traffic but no enforcement. Drivers will purposefully drive the opposite way to beat someone else to an opportune parking, but it ends up causing more of a delay. That is before going in the store. After you get out, then you will fight to even get a chance to reverse out of your parking and then get out of the parking lot after 10 minutes. Try going at irregular hours: when they open or close to closing and avoid pay days and food stamp payment days.
Busy, busy, busy only a few cash registers open at a time spend more time waiting in line then you do shopping. He is great been to many them in San Antonio and other towns this one is messed up because of management!Flaming bird is awesome and the beans I could eat a gallon of them a day!
Very good place to shop for ur food n pick things up for making a good cookout or dinner at home. They have awesome deals n u can get lots of things when u buy one or two items n get 3 or more free with coupons. They even have samples of food u can make at home if u dont feel like going out. Or u can go to the deli n buy something premade n fresh to take home if ur not into cooking that day. One of the best places to go with low prices n better deals.
Once revered as a business to have a Great Shopping Experience, but alas that is no longer the case. The walls are adorned with less beneficial foods than it once occupied and replace with about 80% obesity induced junk food. Unfortunately the store no longer has the array of options it once had, but that is not the company to blame. They only cater to what drives sales among the majority of the residents of Maverick County, all in the same while losing integrity as a well rounded grocery stores. Perhaps this is but a small example is what caused H.E.B. to fall to seventh place behind competitive groceries. H.E.B. may provide better product in larger more health conscious areas, but along the rural areas it is no more than a candy store.
Employee Cynthia Martinez was very rude and did not respect my decision of social distancing. I was following rules and in the spot I was supposed to be. She asked me to move up in line to bring a customer from another lane. I stated that I was not comfortable moving up till the customer finished paying. She said, Smf! Smirked and told me maam you can move up. I said, not till they check out. She yelled, saying HEB gas rules (which I was following and she was urging me to break). Laughs at me and says that if I have a problem to talk to her supervisor. I brushed it off. Moved up when it was my turn and the famous Cynthia Martinez approached me again, leaned in at me breaking social distancing, invading my space. Smirked to me in a very hateful tone in Spanish saying, No te dije nada, solo te pedi que the avansada! And walk away angrily. She had no right to reappoach me in any form or way. Her behavior extremely inappropriate. I have been a customer since I moved to the area and have never been treated in that manner. So disrespectful and a lack of common courtesy. She tried to take my right away from me. View the cameras. I expect to see a change in her lack in customer service and teamwork. Shameful!
HEB here in Eagle Pass has great low prices and is staffed very well. You can always find an associate to help you out. If you have a problem at the register they have alot of baggers that will check prices or get you a different item if a coupon is misworded or they are out of stock.
I think everything went up at HEB ,I have about two bags of groceries and it was 55 dls, when I had the same thing last week and it was about 38 dls , everyone in the store are very nice people and treat you very good , but it looks like it went up on all the groceries, Im always happy to shop at HEB, but be nice and dont raise the price of groceries. thanks
Everything I want is on the top selves I was disappointed that you stop carrying the non dairy Ben and Jerry ice cream I know Eagle Pass community are not informed on foods that are better for you health I go once a month to Kyle heb and bring foods that are non meat and also moo creamer for coffee you also dont carry my kind vitamin that I get in Kyle would be nice if you can carry those foods and let people taste it Im eating healthy for my colestrol and have got it down thanks to foods that are vegan
I am from Corpus Christi tx, and I hope that it doesnt change. The people here were very friendly and helpful but I felt so stupid, because I had to ask what some of the food was that I was sampling. And more shocked when I was asked do I have my bags or do I want to purchase one. Of course I said no then the cashier began placing my groceries in the basket. I then asked her what are u doing, she then explained that if I wanted it in a bag I would need to purchase it. I told her I wasnt from here and they did not do that at my heb. As much as I purchase products from Heb, if that change happens in Corpus, I will go some where else. And then I didnt understand a word that was being said over the loud speaker because it was in spanish. I felt so out of place at this store.
Had to do some work in the store for several weeks this year. Staff was friendly, night manager was great always ready to help. However the director was an ass, every once in awhile the directir would have a breakdown about material he could see from his office window. Even though all of tbe shelves were cluttered with boxes of store product, boxes of construction material was not acceptable to this ass even though it was a partial remodel. This caused mutiple delays in tbe oroject. If you have to do work in this store, add about 50 percent to you bid gor BS!
No paper bags and charging for plastic..that is not right! Who is pocketing from the bags anyway cause sometimes they do not put that money in the register...heb makes too much money to charge for bags! Even the dollar store give them with purchase...so does Walgreens!
A lot of the staff here is extremely rude an extremely off face the accuser customer of being intoxicated who absolutely does not touch alcohol I know this person and they have never had a beer in their entire life in their entire 53 years and he was rudely and horribly embarrassed in lines and crowds of people bye-bye being refused to sell an alcoholic beverage he was purchasing for his spouse by accusing him of being drunk when he has never had a drink in his life they really need to get their facts and act straight rude rude rude and that doesnt go for just that particular staff member that goes for most of the staff Bakery management sucks grocery management sucks and some of the general management sucks they really need to move people around or get new management

2022-03-19My favorite store to grocery shop. I wish they would branch out into surrounding states. Great prices, good service, well stocked and several neat and different items to by. Plus a great wine selection.

2022-03-16Always has a youthful and charming array of employees. Traction to register is never a hold up and only line you stop and wait for is like looking in the mirror, the self check out! HEB team is as colorful as its produce and isles.

2022-02-13Sad to say this is the only grocery store here. Prices are beyond for the quality! Wine selection terrible cater to people who have no knowledge of wine! You might as well display Strawberry Hill! Limited on Pinot Grigio, Malbecs, Syriahs! If HEB is gonna not allow competition than provide for your customers!

2022-03-15Manager needs to get hands on. Now that bridge is open and there are more international customers/buyers, inventory levels are not kept constant.
