H-E-B in other cities:
HEB has a place in my heart. It is easy to love this place. That being said, their baby aisle, kids snacks and dog food aisle can be better. There is not that much selection compared to other HEBs. I use another HEB location frequently since i do find more variety there.
The pharmacy staff is friendly and always ready to answer questions. Theyre accommodating when I have special situations with my medications and doctors. Theyve rarely been out of a particular prescription, whereas, unfortunately, Ive faced this situation with both Walgreens and Walmart. I highly recommend.
Always a great shopping experience at my neighborhood H-E-B. Never go anywhere else for produce, fruits, salad bags/boxes because other stores dont match quality or consistency. Great selection of Craft beers, wines and artisan food/spices. Plus you can actually find employees to ask questions & ample amount of lanes & cashiers to check out in a timely manner. Always clean store and great products. 👍🏼
I like this store. But one thing I dont like is they have a specific product that some other stores dont have people ask for it they tell you we will order it but they dont. I use to buy Mississippi Mud beer. I bought it on every visit. Another BABKA BREAD bought it on every grocery visit no more. Another canned octopus no more. These are the things I bought on my grocery trip.
I would not recommend anyone of my family or friends to purchase flowers for there. I ordered 2 bouquets of flowers a week in advance for my mothers funeral and the morning of, I went to pick up, they never made my order of flowers. I spoke to an overnight manager and he basically told me oh well by shrugging his shoulders. Very unprofessional employees and terrible experience!
I had a really bad experience today because one of the supposedly manager who was there accused me of fraud and said I wasn’t able to use an heb digital gift card which in the past I had pay with them in the same store ( it also says there redeem in store) because my husband always sends them too me and I had never had that issue before. I had to drive all the way to the heb in 10st which the managers there were so helpful and I didn’t have problems paying there with the same digital gift card the cashier there didn’t even question anything and the managers told me there was no problem at all and they even apologized for the inconvenience even tho it wasn’t even in that store…
Always love shopping at H-E-B because their deals are awesome! Yesterday we got 1/2 gallon of Butter Pecan ice cream and a free ice cream scoop in a mint shade! Thats literally way cool! They also had them in pink and lavender! Also picked up some jalapeño cheetos, pastrami and ham for sandwiches, its to hot to cook but H-E-B has everything an easy menu!
Its always a challenge using this HEB. the curbside carts seem to be priority, Usually the partners stocking for curbside dont set aside as a courtesy. The carts take the whole isle and believe me when i say those isles have gotten smaller. I always leave a small tad frustrated.
Its a pretty good location and the selection is good. My only concern is regarding the produce section. Every other time I come in, I always see fruit that is well past its shelf life. Sometimes it gets left out long enough to attract fruit flies. This is especially true for the organic fruit shelf. That really need to be addressed.
Hey guysNormally i just toss it cause i rarely go out other than to buy food but this the 3rd loaf of SOLA that has moldI kept the receipt this time so ill be by later today to drop it off if u dont mind ... the last loaf of bread my kid was almost about to eat it cause made herself a pbj sandwich ... good thing i caught it ... yes she open a new bag ...This one i just bought it today ...I hate going out if i dont have too ...
My favorite HEB. Been going for 15 years since we moved into the area. Friendly staff, produce department excellent, well organized. Ive been to several other HEB locations, and prefer this one to the others. I can get in and out without a hassle. If I every had a problem here, they have ALWAYS come through and helped me out.
I dont like it that they keep putting more and more of their store brands and not name brands. What about us that dont want store brands? Why isnt there at least a few of the name brand items? These were the empty frozen displays on Thursday evening. When are the name brands going to be stocked?? And another thing, why can you only get $50.00 cash?? Does HEB not carry enough money?
I love my H.E.B. ! Everything is organized great, restrooms are very clean as well as the entire store. Every department in the store is so helpful. From bakery to deli to pharmacy, produce, csas. My family and I are thankful for you all staying open during these troubling times.
I love this HEB the workers are always courteous, kind, polite, and helpful. The Staff treat you just like family here as well as the customers, everyone is always smiling very positive Grocery store to shop I would highly recommend this particular Grocery store to shop. Also the Deli is amazing try their Lemon Pepper Chicken by Boar its so delicious me and my son just love it. 💖💖
Best grocery store Ive ever been, too. At least compared to all of Texas, North Carolina and California. Great customer service and i love the way they go out of their way to help you find what youre looking for. Im a regular and the kids always know I need an electric cart?. God bless them. Free H-E-B
This HEB has a tribute to the military veteran Alfredo (Freddy) Gonzalez, when you visit. I come back to see the mural. The employees (partners) are very welcoming. Self checkout for customers in a hurry. The curbside pickup uses too many parking spaces. The west side of building should be considered for this purpose.
I live closer to another HEB, but this is the one I go to because of their outstanding customer service and product selection. I can go into this store looking my worst and they still treat me like royalty. I love their Curbside staff, they save me so much money and time. Its worth every penny!
I never heard of an HEB store until I arrived in Texas. Now thats all I know. This location employees are friendly but busy. But if you need any assistance they help you as soon as possible 👌. Check out line moves quickly. However, I would like to see self service lines available.
A great place to shop for groceries at a reasonable price. Plus you can find just about anything at heb for culinary essentials. They also serve fresh flavored waters such as my favorite the cucumber water. They also have sushi, rotisserie style chicken, rice, and Mexican style food. They also help with paying for car tags and other great helpful things such as retail shopping section of the store.
I was pleasantly surprised this store had, masks, hand sanitizer and other otc items that are usually missing on shelves. The only thing missing was better product knowledge. I asked an employee where in the store I could find phone chargers. He said, oh I dont know. As I turned away from him, next to the conveyor belt, were phone chargers. Perhaps, an infographics map of the store and disseminate information about the products that are sold? Overall, the store is fully stocked and the customer service was up to par.
Not much to say. Typical grocery store. Produce is always fresh as is their meat. Pretty clean as far as grocery stores go. Pick up available is a nice option 4 stars-----------------------------------Been shopping here for years but I had to edit and add a comment. But they definitely dropped the ball.I purchased some farm raised catfish & prepared it blackened. Upon eating my meal I discovered several worms. I went back and talked to a manager & made an incident report. ( they took my info) I gave my name and phone number to this day they never called me back. I returned the next day they were still selling the item. I returned 2 days later & were still selling the item. 3 month later nothing. I have the rest of my fillets in the freezer & video of the worms on my plate. Obviously they dont care or failed to report this. I gave them the opportunity to make this right & they have failed miserably. Because of this the next step is posting the YouTube video. A simple apology would of gone a long way. Downgrading from 4 stars to 1 because of this.
My groceries were picked correctly and all the items were in good condition. A very pleasant young man greeted me when I texted my location. He explained that there was one item on my list that was not available and suggested a similar item that he brought with him. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. This service is not free but it is very convenient and may even save you money since there wont be the temptation of junk food by the register. Will definitely use the curbside services again
WHY CANT THIS LOCATION ENFORCE MASKS!! Love this location but I really hate that I see so many people without masks and no one says anything, Just went in and saw 4 people in my first 5 minutes with no masks.... literally customers with no masks chatting with associates and no one tells them anything....upsets me...just wish they would tell customers to wear masks... 😷 WILL DEFINITELY FILE A COMPLAINT WITH CORPORATE
If you didnt grow up with H-E-B, you will have no idea why many are infatuated with this grocery store chain. Prices are just the same as anywhere else. Quality is just the same as anywhere else. Beer and wine selection however is where this grocery store chain definitely excels versus many others. They have many Boutique label beer and wine offerings. To a wine or beer snob like myself, I could spend an hour just in that section, much to the chagrin of my wife. They pride themselves on local offerings, and they definitely do have this, but many chains have caught on to this marketing & are doing exactly the same thing for exactly the same prices. This is really your only choice for groceries in South Texas unless you want to go to Walmart.
My husband and I went in to do some shopping for a party we are throwing our 2 baby pitbulls and we were short 9$, well Bobby, our cashier paid our balance. He didnt have to but he did it without hesitation. I was in tears. Thank you Bobby at cashier 10, we really appreciate it. We need more ppl like you in this world. Aside from great customer service, you sir are out angel. Thank you.
This HEB curbside on Freddy Gonzalez is a complete joke! They didnt fulfill our original order the 1st time (thats stealing in any book), so here we are again & its not even packed this time.... yet Im sitting in space E431 going on 30 minutes waiting for 5 items. Other cars have come & gone, wonder if HEB even cares about my time... as I have a newborn whom ive now had to be away this long. Its now 10:19pm & been here since 9:45pm, but people pray for me that I get this 1 bag of my items before curfew! It wouldnt let me give 0 stars, so thats why its showing the 1 star
My wife and I went first to HEB #431 on 2700 W. Freddy Gonzales, Edinburg, TX 78539-7312. We had $360 to send to a relative in Mexico. The money was my wifes part in her parents small 50th wedding anniversary party. It was our first time sending money through WU. We gave the clerk all the information and when we were reviewing the information we asked how much it was going to cost us. She told us that it was going to be $8. I gave my wife the $8 cash. The clerk immediately said she was going to cancel the transaction because we were LAUNDERING MONEY. She accused us of money laundering just because I gave my wife $8 cash to pay for the transaction. It looked like she really enjoyed telling us that and cancelling the transaction. She added that we needed to wait 24 hours before we could send money through WU. We were surprised beyond belief.
HEB is a grocery store chain covering most of Texas as well as Noreste Mexico. They compete with Randalls Fiesta Rice Epicurian and Whole Foods as well as the Wall Marts that sell groceries - Kroger and Albertsons are around in some places too. HEB sources both local and global and is excellent on their HEB brand, designed to meet or exceed the quality level of the name brand. Their store Hill Country brand is their low cost option. Always a good choice
HEB is a good grocery’s store with fair prices and some friendly employees. But the only downside for me is tortillas. My kids and I like banderita corn tortillas brand but sadly H-E-B carriers the smaller ones the tacos size which are smaller. I asked two individuals why don’t they sell the family pack. I was told that is up to the vendor that makes the decision not H-E-B. So H-E-B don’t really care what a customer want. So I head to Walmart now since Walmart carry banderita tortillas family pack. Thumbs down for me
HEB is a Texas institution like Whataburger is in the State. In the RGV to buy your food you go to Wal Mart or HEB. The Rio Grande Valley use to have more choices with IGA supermarket branded stores which were eventually put out of business. Sprouts Market Garden grocery will appeal those who like organic, non GMO products similar to like Whole Foods. But because of that HEB years ago introduced Central Market, an upscale food store that was created to compete with Whole Foods. The only problem is that theyre located in the richer larger cities of Texas like San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and Houston. But that didnt stop HEB from sharing the store brand of Central Market with their HEB stores. At this location, youll find a lot of Central Market products which are for sale among their HEB brands as well like their Hill Country Milk is where youll also find Central Market milk as well for sale. Because this store is on a side of town that is nicer, the store has more items, selection, and brands that you wont find at other locations like the HEB on Closner. Both locations at Closner and at this HEB on Freddy Gonzalez are always packed. This one has a larger deli, larger liquor and beer section and this goes for any other types of foods as well. Larger organic, non GMO products across the line. Similar to their Central Market stores, Whole Foods and Sprouts. But then again thats the trend, so youll find more organic products as well at Wal Mart. But I trust HEBs poultry and meat because Ive had a lot of bad experiences with Wal Marts meat/pork/poultry section. Each HEB is different in their offerings depending on the areas demographics and income.
HEB Mc Allen stores have a Healthy Living dept. which allows them to buy from vendors that HEB Edinburg stores cannot. Likewise, one of the managers at HEB on Freddy St.in Edinburg said they have been trying to get a Healthy Living dept.to be able to buy from same vendors as Mc Allen HEB for the past six months, but have not been able ,as of yet. Not sure why, especially since Gold Gym & Crunch are just down the street..The manager commented.

2022-05-25They have a great variety and everything is organized nicely. Its a small store and yet you find what you need. The staff was quick with scanning and bagging! So it was a quick in and out process, which I loved! Definitely shopping here more often.

2022-04-25I ordered delivery yesterday 4/24/22. I received a call at 4:15pm from the curbside attendant that they had given my order to another driver. The attendant told me it would still be delivered same daysbut it would be later. She then told me that for the inconvenience they would take $10 dollars off my order. I was still billed the same amount. I went in this morning around 7:30am to speak to the curbside manager at the time and she told me that they would grant it but she seemed hesitate. I thanked her but as of now I have yet to receive anything. Heb always has great customer service until this time around. I am very disappointed.

2022-05-26HEB is my go-to grocery store. I know where everything is. I know the parking lot. I know the people.Like everywhere, prices are up. But I can still find many of my usual basic items at the same low price as always. And I dont have to worry about quality. If ever anything were wrong, HEB will always make it right.

2022-07-21This isnt the first time Ive had issues at this store. I cant always get there as early as Id prefer to and even when Ive been there two hours before closing, aisles are constantly being blocked off by boxes of food, wodden crates, or employees who see customers are trying to get in and they refuse to make space for us to get to where we need to go. Some (not all) employees act rude when asked if they could please move these things. Ive also found rotten produce quite a few times and have brought it to the attention of an employee a few times so they can properly dispose of it since it isnt sanitary as well as the fact I am allergic to mold and they get upset with me for calling it to their attention.I used to love coming here but in truth, this location has drastically gone downhill in terms of food quality as well as the standards of employees. I have always been respectful when talking to an employee but I have not always been met with the same respect. Im tired of constantly being spoken down to or treated as if I dont matter. I truly hope things improve because I have been coming here for over 20 years and would hate to stop shopping here simply because people dont know how to be polite.

2022-04-07Always shop here and great service. I once left my phone outside on a shopping cart and an employee turned it in which I was able get it back. Awesome pharmacy also ! My go to store get all my needs even if I travel farther than the store on Closner.

2019-05-01Much nicer experience this time around, they have recently been a remodel that really upgrades the facility. The addition of the curbside HEB is also really awesome.Edit: I was really excited when they were making the changes to this HEB, since I live near this store I thought that it would help with convenience. First of all, curbside has so many spaces to park that parking for regular customers is tough. This is not a huge parking lot to begin with, so at peak times you are parking at the gas station. Second, They just added self checkers, so now as a result I have seen a marked increase in the time spent in the regular checkout lines. I dont think the store is big enough to accommodate the changes that they want. My last trip to this was during off peak hours during the day, and it was still a horrendous wait. I find myself increasingly making my way to Walgreens across the street for the little stuff. You cant really just run in and out of this HEB anymore.

2021-10-03Monica in the floral department was wonderful! I needed two bouquets and i told her what I wanted within my price range and she DELIVERED! I dont think I did a great job explaining what I wanted, but she understood and the bouquet were better than what I imagined. If you need a floral arrangement go see Monica at HEB shell having you leaving with a wonderful arrangement!

2022-02-16HEB has great customer service, always has enough registers open, and has fair prices. The store is also well stocked. If you cant find an item, there are employees who can look up the items you are looking for and tell you where to find them.
