H-E-B plus in other cities:
Me and my husband and daughter went to get some stuff that we needed we went to self checkout due to the other lines where long and we had few stuff. The workers are pretty good at putting heb stickers on the stuff that you don’t bag well not this time I had a box of dog food and two frozen pizzas they didn’t give me or put last I checked not my job to do so either… well when we where walking out we were stop by a guy he was on the phone with other heb employee I assumed and said excuse me come here Mrs and said she’s good she paid no I just checked she’s good she paid while he was looking at my receipt that I showed him he did not apologize to us or me and they do not ever check or stop anyone in my yrs of going there I felt so disrespected and embarrassed and discriminated I told the guy really really and I walked out! I believe this falls back on the employees to make sure they put the heb stickers on items or put them where the shoppers can get not our fault or responsibility either
Damian in the seafood department went out of his way to help me this past Saturday morning with my search for crawfish. The team was busy early in the morning setting up all of the meats and seafood into their display cases. Damian stopped what he was doing, went out of his way and helped me find what I needed. This is above and beyond in my book and appreciate your help Damian. That was very HEB of you! This is why I enjoy shopping here.
I love this store, and for the most part all of the employees are very nice and helpful. But theres a few HEB personal shoppers that are running around and theyre so rude and then make a rude remarks to other employees after they run you over with their carts and act like you were in the wrong. Its very rude and disrespectful. Thats my Only complaint about the store👍
They always have what you need and the customer service is superb. Also, went in to get medication for a rash my little one had. Was happy they had heb brand to help save some money. They also had a choice for a clear medication versus using one that stayed pink after applying it.
The pharmacy crew is outstanding always kind when I get my medicine and the pharmacist Jason was so kind to look into a concern I was having with my vitamin and medicine took the time to explain the information with me was just truly an amazing experience thank you so much H-E-B bastrop pharmacy
Requested a few items and was instead told about the products they carry that I didnt want already. Organics are hit or miss, quality lower than other HEBs. Everyone looks sick but only masks are employees. I hate to say it but its probably good idea to just avoid this one.
A fantastic selection of wine with some hilarious labels, and this is now been turned into a sort of tradition with my fiance and I wear we go and we pick out a bottle that has a title that either applies to our current situation, perhaps a fantasy situation, are we just like the name of it. We have been keeping the bottles so at our anniversary as we can go and see if the wine is still being produced take a little walk down memory lane. Even if you dont like wine Take 5 10 minutes to just go look at the names of these wines because 10 out of 10 had me giggling a lot and I hadnt even cracked open a bottle yet!
We just move here in Bastrop, the first time I had a bad experienced with the cashier. She was asking if I want a lotto. I told him I dont have a cash, she it is ok. Credit card will do it. OK??. So continued to checkout. She rang everything, then when she finished she told me I owned 4 dollars I said why?? She asked me loudly if I have a FOOD STAMPS, well, I told her it would nice if I have that, and asked again. Everyone heard it. So frustrating. My concern, she should asked that question infront of everyone 🙄 that is so rude. I dont have a food stamps. I told her to take out the lottery tickets in the lists. Not so appropriate asking those questions. I hope she will not do that for eveveryone.
Its decent, make sure you have well less than 10 items for the self-checkout lane. I had 8 items and the HEB employee stopped me and blocked me from being able to use self-checkout because he said I had more than 10 items. His manager later even admitted 8 is less than 10, and I should have been able to use the self-checkout, however, I was not allowed to.
Ugh! PACKED!! Felt like being in hornets nest. As if the crowds werent bad enough, theyre constantly skawking over the 100+ decibel PA about lotto tickets in one ear while they blast in your other ear with a bullhorn hawking tamales. Practically had a panic attack with all this sensory overload. I avoid going here unless its absolutely necessary. Their store in Elgin is much less stressful.
Great selection of natural products in the healthy living section. Mias Mirror is the most amazing boutique hidden in this location. They have the cutest clothing, amazing jewelry and SHOES!!! You can buy boots, Yellow Box blingy flip flops, tennis shoes and much more!If you want a good cooler thats cheaper than a Yeti but comparable performance definitely give the HEB Kodi coolers a try!
My favorite HEB anywhere! Thats saying a lot because I have never been to a bad HEB. I dont want to imagine life without HEB. I cant fathom doing all of my grocery shopping at Walmart. Several years ago, my wife was up for a promotion that would have meant a move to Wisconsin. While it wasnt the deciding factor, we had to really consider moving to a place that is HEB free.
This review is for the bakery only I’ve already reviewed the store with five stars the store is amazing the bakery today was very disappointing. Going to post this photo omg not happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sad thing is I’ve gotten this cake before and this is the worst cake I have ever seen from HEB and this is where I get my cakes from. 🤨🤨🤨
I use to love the Bastrop HEB for several reason. The biggest reason was because they always had everything I needed. It was one stop shopping as I like to call it. But now they never have anything ever. Finding small things like English muffins or dish soap are like looking for a four leaf clover or the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. So I no longer shop there.
Awesome store! We shopped while we were staying in the area. Curbside worked great too. Well arranged, stocked. Great selections and lots of interesting products you won’t find at big box stores like Walmart. Produce and meat department are excellent quality and pricing. Wish the would expand outside of Texas!
SO helpful! Thank you Rosy at the balloon and flower section for going out of your way to find us some UT balloons! We really appreciated you taking the time to look and getting us some great balloons. They’ll be the perfect thing to celebrate my sisters acceptance to UT! 🤘🏼
So today my husband had a trailer and he was going to pick me up on one of the outer parking lanes so we wouldnt block traffic with the electric cart(since Im disabled and can hardly walk) and this young lady comes out to me and tells me i cant be picked up right there because i will block traffic when there was hardly anyone coming out or in in that lane, she insisted even thou i kelp explaining her my walking situation. HEB you have failed me. I should suit you for discrimination.
Did curbside pick up, started dinner, item missing. Spoke to Arthur and he said I could come get it. That would be a one hour and 10 minute round trip drive. Not including waiting on my item. He said he would refund me, after about 20 seconds, he hangs up on me. I call back only to have him lie and say he said thank you before hanging up. First wouldn’t you say your refund is issued? Second I could hear all the background noise but couldn’t hear you speak? Poor customer service
Just moved to Bastrop and this was my first time at this store & its amazing!!! I went to buy some of their in store single serve meals which are delicious & great prices! They had several coupons for the lunches. I also needed an inexpensive blender & they had a $5 off coupon for an Oster 10 speed, so I got it for $15! Super friendly & helpful employees. Never going to the Walmart here again!
HEB Plus on Bastrop always has a really great selection. I love especially love Healthy Living and how helpful they are with ordering things that that store doesnt usually carry. I wish the checkers were more with it. I know its hard to deal with hundred of people a day, but after working at HEB for 4 years, I know it is possible to still be kind and professional for each customer.
Pretty good HEB. It’s a little bigger (hence the “Plus!”). It’s been pretty crazy most times I’ve gone in though, and so I decided to just start doing Curbside Pickup for the most part- especially during these times. Makes me anxious squeezing through a bunch of folk. But...all in all, it’s a fine place to get groceries.
Lots of fresh produce. Love the large aisles to browse and shop without getting hit and bumped by other baskets and shoppers. Check out person Josh was personable, fast, and efficient!I told him he should be in one of those bagging competitions because he is fast and efficient! He also knows his prices on sale items. He was on top of it and he was a very personable young man.Another employee thanked us for shopping there as we left. Wow! What well trained customer service! I was impressed! But I do like having uncluttered counters where I have to pay where there is room to put my purse down.I did like that there were not of unattended baskets all over the parking lot. The parking lot looked neat and clean as well as the inside of the store.I like that!
The store is clean, the shoppers are awesome and kind. I love Bastrop. This store is above par. Every time I go I end up feeling happy. We are all great. HEB just goes the extra mile. Save me a buck, happy as... 😝.. I dont know why, but all the people that shop here are healthier. More ways than one.
Its a clean store, a lot of people but as I said before typical for a big store chain. Only issue is that the self checkout is for 10 items unless and they make you go through one of their lines with their cashiers if you have more than 10 items and the lines are really really long and they dont even have all the registers open.
I love shopping at H-E-B. They really care about you. I absolutely love that they will send a team member with you out to you car to help you load up your groceries. Theyre also very helpful when it comes to coupons and questions. There is the occasional time when a team member isnt 100% helpful, but theyre usually new and havent been trained up yet. I expect and normally receive outstanding service and great quality produce and foods.
H-E-B makes COVID shopping a brease. I use the app to manage my shopping list throughout the week, and finalize my purchases a few days in advance of when I want to pick them up. I can still add items through the app until a few hours before pick up. Because I finalize my basket in advance, I can schedule free pick up. The in-store shoppers get everything I need and have it ready for me. I have been happy with the produce they selected. The people who roll out to my car are friendly, courteous and respectful of social distancing guidelines. I highly recommend curbside pickup. It is an excellent service.
It’s a great place to get groceries. But try to go when it’s not so busy. And honestly, it wouldn’t kill you to bag your own groceries. Besides, it makes things move faster. If it weren’t for the amount of customers and lack of isle space, this place would get 5 stars.
Well use their pharmacy because I have to. The line during rush. Is usually very long and very slow. Was chastised for bringing in my service dog who had an accident on the floor which I was sure to disinfect and clean up. Was actually asked to leave. Staff and management need to be educated about Americans with disabilities and the right to have a service dog with them in any public place. Unacceptable. Refuse to shop there as a result.
The selection is GREAT. 7-10 flavors of drinks or different cuts of meat varieties. Check out is super fast, but also helpful in reminding you of things like ice, stamps, gift cards that you needed to get. 2 person double check on check purchases keeps my money safe. All in all I love HEB and would recommend them again and again.
HEB goes out of their way to be the Texas gem that it is. The store brand, Hill Country Fair is maybe even better than national brands, and although I got the app to use for curbside delivery, I found its also good if you are in the store looking for an item. Just look for the item and it will tell you where it is located. I love my HEB. And usually they have the cheapest gas in town.
Even though things can get busy here, management monitors everything, which is great. Meat and seafood are exceptional as is the wine selections and general food offerings. I was frankly stunned at the level of service and selection when we moved here from Dallas. Kudos all around for Bastrop H‑E‑B!
TEXAS sized selection on everything from produce to beer to pickles to cat food. I can easily spend a half hour - and thats only in the produce section! Maybe you see this as a bad thing... Maybe you see it as a wonderful thing... I have mixed feelings about it myself. But I do love the variety and very reasonable prices. Great in-store coupons and deals. Sure, Wally World is just across the highway, but if youre a native Texan, you appreciate the fact that HEB is A TEXAS company. Keep it local, yall!
The Management at the his HEB is not up to par. My encounter with a female manager who was rude and condescending to me because she wanted me to go to a different check out line. I was fine where I was yet she wanted to argue with me. Several times when I have gone the past 2 months since I am here temporarily, there are several customers not wearing masks none at all! No one ever tells them anything so Im not surprised that they just announced a team member came down with Covid. I love HEB but this location needs a management overhaul.
This particular HEB is usually one of the best HEB stores to go to if you want the best in quality with your food and its definitely the HEB to go to if you are a health nut. They have lots of awesome Healthy Living food items and products. The customer service here, in my experience, has always been great! The employees have always been very helpful and kind. :)
I love my HEB but this one did not impress me on my first and probably last visit, not due to the store itself but to the clientele and lack of mask enforcement in the store. In these times of Covid-19 there were waaaaay too many maskless people in the store. If we had not been desperate for some supplies we would have left immediately but we got the hell out of there as fast as possible. Very disappointed with HEB management at that store.
I think I found the perfect time to go, early on the morning! I was finally able to pick up some essentials for the kitchen, and pleased to find them made in Texas, HEB brand. Super prices, and very nice to see friendly employees throughout the store. Its a beautiful state of mind to be shopping for local food at HEB. Thank you!
I like H‑E‑B. It has options for all budgets. I wish they had the self checkout lines open for people with more than 10 items. It gets really annoying when these are empty and the other lines are full and we can’t use them because H‑E‑B’s “policy” this would really help move the lines along faster. Other than than no other complaints.
Great prices, plus you can usually get some really good deals with their coupons. I wouldnt recommend going Fridays nights or Sunday after Church. People are always friendly. Dont go one the first or second because nothing is ever in stock. Other than that, its the only place I ever get my groceries from. Fresh meats, fresh produce and you can watch them cut your meat if you have a specialty item.
What the hell, HEB? 2 different couples not wearing masks in the store at 6:30 pm tonight! I asked the cashier if customers are still required to wear masks. She said, Yes, but we dont enforce it as much as we used to. And I thought HEB was a company that modeled itself as caring about their customers!
HEB is clean and has a good selection for grocery needs. It is usually stocked well. The produce is way better than any place else in town. Curbside services are a great option if you do not enjoy shopping. Have used them several times and have always been satisfied. The sushi is yummy and the cooking demonstrations are nice. Employees are friendly and helpful.Reasons I did not give 5th star: The curbside shoppers and people stocking are often in your way if you are trying to shop in the store. They rarely offer to move or let you around them. They recently added self check out lines...which can be helpful if you are in a hurry but I resent the lack of service. You often end up bagging your own groceries in most lanes (even when you have a full basket).
This HEB Plus has always provided excellent customer service all the way around! All the employees are extremely helpful, willing to go out of their way. They are very friendly too! Even though the store is usually busy, theres rarely a long wait in checkout. They keep it staffed well so the lines move quickly. With two kids, thats awesome for me!The store itself is very clean and has a great selection- lots of organics, nice meat counter, chef station with samples, deli, bakery, floral, wine/beer, etc. I also LOVE the Mias Mirror Boutique where I always find unique, nice gifts or a little something for myself.Friends and family who have visited this HEB have also had great things to say, so I felt comepelled to write a quick review to share.Highly recommend this store to anyone in the area or just passing through!
I booked HEB Blooms Bastrop for my 9/26/2020 wedding and I absolutely adored my floral. Sylvia, Yolanda and Katie were excellent to work with and the eye for design was incredible. It was everything I wanted as a bride even though I had a hard time describing what I wanted. I highly recommend this team!
Sundays are usualot extremely busy, as it was today...but HEB had plenty of friendly checkers. The experience was good overall, however I have to say that it took me longer than normal to get through because there were at least three employees shopping for someone else and the carts are huge and parking in front of the bacon and cheese areas held me up. It should be parked away from front and walked to by employees. I was frustrated going around them to squeeze in to get my products. And the ones shopping today were basically clueless that there were many other shoppers waiting for them to move that big cart. Other than that, it was fine
Relatively good variety of inventory. Prices are generally acceptable. Cashiers are always friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. Never had an argument on price discrepancies. Produce is usually abundant and fairly priced. Always enjoy shopping here. Great deli and meat counter is really good.
Very crowded as always, they do insist on visitors continuing to protect themselves by wearing a mask, which feels like the norm now a days, the people that go there, always rude, like theyre the only ones that matter, by going right in front of you without saying excuse me, the grocery items seem to get changed around more than expected but you can still find everything your looking for.The lines going to the counter are always long, but thats to be expected for being such a big store.
Love HEB. I shop there every week. Great food, great prices. I love the variety of items and how easy it is to find them. Theyre constantly adding more items like electronics, and its great. I also love HEB curbside which I use to shop. Its an online shopping site for HEB that allows you to quickly add items , buy them, and simply pick up your items at the store instead of shopping for them. I also like the HEB pharmacy thats included.
I am from Indiana, and had never been to an H-E-B before today but will definitely make an effort to return on my next visit to Texas! This store was clean with nice produce and meat departments. The prices were very reasonable which was a pleasant surprise after having shopped at Whole Foods recently. It was also quite refreshing to see the camaraderie among the employees; they truly seemed to enjoy their jobs. I honesty left the store feeling uplifted and very impressed - superior job H-E-B!!
My favorite place to shop for all my grocery needs PLUS more ;) Always the freshest produce and you can always find great samples!! The ready fresh meals are my favorite! Healthy and delicious! Great when you want to stay on track and need a ready to cook fresh meal for those busiest of days!
This HEB is excellent. To everybody complaining about face masks not being forced, you are way too easily giving up your freedoms to a hoax. You are being controlled by fear and trauma based mind control. You have no right to force your germaphobia on others. This HEB is doing the nation and its people a service in respecting their freedom to choose. Suggesting a face mask is fine. Expecting them to FORCE it is tyrannical. God gave us the breath of life. No one should be forced to block it.
The store is huge and holds many options of food to choose from. The curbside service provides 26 parking spots and the service is efficient and fast. However, there is a flaw in their response to a request to call when you receive a text of substitutions or a product not available. They never call!! The team members have always been helpful when they bring my groceries but I never get a phone call.
I am a hybrid shopper between small city, with one HEB, and a neighboring city with a plethora of HEB locations and other grocery store options to include organic stores. I realize there is an HEB app to help find food items, but I never feel as though I am at my home HEB when Im at neighboring city. It became a situation when I was shopping at a different HEB for my weekly shopping and scouting to find an alternative. I could never find the one location to match my home HEB. I can find the food items/brands I need at this location and do not feel forced to buy HEB brands. Or feel limited in terms of options. Checking out is easy; which is pleasant.
The Selection of fresh foods and produce is wonderful. Bakery, meat market, and deli are fresh with knowledgable and friendly employees. Very clean and organized on every isle. Shelves are kept neat and full. I love that this store has expanded its floorplan, adding more products as well as more cashiers/ Self- checkout lanes. I know People who drive the distance from neighboring towns to shop here, I myself drive20 minutes One-way trip and would Prefer to shop here over any other. They have a pharmacy, a Business Center, a floral Section, electronics and now clothing and gift Shop, gas station with car wash with each having their own Benefits and Perks. I love their dispensers with fresh coffee Beans, nuts, trail mixes, dried fruits, and even Peanuts to squeeze your own fresh peanut butter. The alcoholic beverage dept. is rather fancy too, But I dont drink. Its THE place to do ALL of your grocery shopping. The best of Bastrop. Very difficult to find any fault in any subject. Even the Bathrooms are Pleasant to use, always clean and stocked up on soap and toilet paper. ;P
It used to be a lot better here. A few years ago, there were a lot of changes to management.I actually quit coming here for some time due to the drop in quality of produce and customer service.Today, I went and saw big improvements from last time! Much better layout, bigger selection in bakery, and the produce looks better (but still not as good as it used to be).Staff us super busy and friendliness/helpfulness isnt what it used to be.Its a decent place for where it is - you can either really go here or Walmart in Bastrop. But I remember when it was a lot better. It also seems that they bought back self check out and got rid of the elections section. Grateful for both if these things!I do love some of the people that I remember from years ago that still work get, but theyre always busy and seem really unhappy.
This is my favorite HEB in the area. Large selection of items and staff are always friendly and helpful. My only problem is that unless you go early morning or during the middle of the night, they are packed with people. A lot of times, its difficult to find parking. The strangest thing about this is that they have curbside delivery and home delivery. Im always shocked when I take a break from work to get a few items, and cant find parking on a Monday at 10 AM and all the check out lines have several people waiting.
Im pretty impressed with HEB, they have everything and checkout is fast n furious. Its a one stop shop, I was able to get everything Id forgotten for the wedding: card, gift, booze, suit, shoes, belt, cowboy hat and belt, booze, and wedding ring that I lost. I love HEB.
This HEB had a lot of good product and some good people. You get minus a star because you dont enforce masks and I saw a few workers who werent even wearing any. Including cart gatherers who are in contact with people in the parking lot and inside the store. Walmart has tighter guidelines it seems.
Your customer service is slipping. Lane 17 was open with the light on, with noone home. I went to the next register and the girls standing in the bagging area looked right at me and still didnt offer to check me out at her open register with no wait so I got in line at 18. Also, who is training your cashiers to stand around and wait until the customer has finished unloading their very full cart before they start scanning? Nothing says your time is valuable to a customer more than an employee standing around chatting instead of starting their order. Way to put those scans per minutes at the top of your priority list. God forbid you should mess up your speed score if, and thats a big if, you run out if things to scan on the belt before the customer finishes emptying the cart.
Customer service is trash during any day that is not normal! Veronica made myself and others move from a line we had been in because of whatever reason she could come up with first it was to many items than it was 2 many people than just because... I called to speak with someone and Chris Market Manager told me I could help the situation when I asked how he hung up.
Worst H-E-B I’ve ever been to. Way to crowded, than I had a employee stocking me around the store. Saying I couldn’t use my coupons on my items when I checked out. Lady you have no right to go up to people telling them they can’t use coupons that are given in the store. She was also very rude!! Not going to be watched like a criminal for using coupons. Never will I go back. Will be doing my grocery shopping IN A DIFFERENT TOWN!!
Stopped here at about4:30pm on Sunday, 8/9/20 for two (2) items. Mass chaos! Had to step back outside in the summer heat to secure a watermelon. 15 items or less lines were packed! And I mean packed! No social distancing at all. People were in line with no gaps. Ill do without before shopping here again. Yikes!
People are very friendly and helpful. Great deals on all your needs. Had a woman by the name Annette help me to find what I was looking for and extremely helpful and kind. The cashier Alexis is EXTREMELY fast which sent on my way. I like to go in get what I need and not spend the majority of the time waiting in line.
Its the best grocery store Ive ever been in my life. The problem is its too crowded and the people will not allow you to get to the Isles. They need to build another store in the Bastrop area. Too slow to navigate through the store and too crowded to get to the counters. Checkout is horrendous at best.
UPDATE: Sat in my car for 50 mins waiting for curb side pick-up.... what a joke, 3 employees standing around chatting while 1 tiny woman pushes a huge cart of groceries out to a customer. Only 1 cart of groceries were being brought out every 15 mins. Not sure if its a HEB thing or the type of people HEB hires. Good help is hard to find 11/13/2020 This year really blows. *Way too many people at the store, only about 65% wearing face masks... young girl collapsed in the checkout isle. People still buying way too much food, double carts. Bags hanging off the sides of their carts... its crazy. Ill stick to paying extra with instacart instead of going thru that again.
Even though it was crowded, probably because people were getting ready for Christmas, it was great! People were nice and helpful. The staff were generous to help and guide me. The cashier, Monica, was helpful as I was using gift card and made sure that everything was good. Thanks! And the atmosphere was very cheerful and happy. I enjoy my time while being in H-E-B. #heb #food #shopping #Bastrop #Texas
Super busy all the time, but theres friendly staff and they meet all of your food needs. Not so much stuff clothes wise, but definitely a one stop shop for fresh and frozen foods! A great pharmacy with awesome pharmacists to help you out, and a small clothing section as well.
My favorite store, when some suggests going to any other store in the area, I tell them whatever they want is at HEB, lines move fast and they have those yellow coupons. My kids say I am supposed to buy electronics elsewhere and when I got the Nintendo Switch game system, I had a HEB coupon and there was no other store anywhere giving discounts. I even get compliments on my purses and a few tops and folks outside of Bastrop dont believe me when I say I get most everything at my grocery store! Why because here everything is better, even my produce options. I just wish there was no cost for online shopping and pick up like Walmart has. But I get it, some one went around store shopped for me then in the quickness brought out to the car. Sometimes time saved is worth the cost.
THIS CAR WASH NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED:I think everyone needs to know this, so its going to be short and sweet. It looks like my car went through a wind tunnel and sand was swirling around in there. A very dirty truck must have gone through, and the rollers are supposed to be frequently cleaned, but this one isnt, and there is no car wash attendent there. I cant go back and change the past, but I can let others know. I asked my boyfriend, How do people get away with this? And he said its because most people dont notice right away, and do a week later like I did, and its hard to prove. He told me thats why people who really care about their cars either wash it themselves, or take it to a self-car wash. The only decent car wash is the new one by the boot shop, but still, beware with the drive-through rollars. It only takes one time. Now my entire car is going to be rusted down the road.Otherwise, as far as HEB goes themselves, HEB is always great, except this ones pretty small in comparison to the larger ones, of course. Meaning fewer items, so its a disappointment when they dont have something. However, everything else is great.People trust HEB, but dont trust this car wash!
I was picking up my HEB curbside order when I got the moodiest girl giving me my order. She didn’t clarify if it was mine or what items I was missing. She went straight to the back and knocked harshly on my back window for me to open the back when I clearly told her many times it’s open. As soon as she opens it she starts throwing my groceries inside and just slams my trunk and leaves when she’s done without saying anything else.
By far the superior option. In this crisis HEB is friendly, helpful and has actively taken measures to keep people employed and safe. Sanitizer and wipes were kept for the checkout staff and you could see them using such things during peak hours. They helped organize checkout lines to minimize time waiting and exposure.
Great HEB. Huge! They have just about everything there, a big variety, lots of different brands. the produce section is big, but not huge. Good bakery / fresh foods. Bulk section. Good coffee selection, at least, if you just like coffee. If you *really* like coffee, you might be disappointed, but then again, you probably wouldnt come to HEB for that :)Overall, I really like this HEB, and Ill be missing it when we move away soon!
This day I attended a free gardening class offered through the HEB and local Extension office. I enjoyed it immensely. I got to meet other people in my community with similar interests. The manager of the store was also in attendance which left a personal touch to the great experience.I LOVE that HEB has a great “Organics” options!
Really like this store . Everyone is friendly and helpful. The selection of products is wonderful and always improving. If you dont see something they will get it for you. I especially like the option for organic, from produce to meat to dairy, even pizza. When people visit me from out of state, they amazed at this fabulous market.
The ladies in the Accessories store, the little shop inside HEB took such good care of me. I told them my son was shipping out to join the Navy on Tuesday & they went above and beyond in taking care of my purchases. They wrapped my flowers in a bag with a little water, made sure to take the tags off of a gift I was purchasing & were just the cats meow! Nobody makes you feel rushed, & every employee I passed by greeted, or smiled, or asked if I was ok. It was Saturday at 10am, so of course the whole store was full of people & still everyone was so friendly. I love my HEB.
Managerial/Organizational complacency creates disturbing outcomes, across a variety of recent interactions: Three stories/interactions/observations1. Generally, I dont grocery shop on a Friday night, after dark. Because of the rise of the COVID-19 outbreak, and the need to stock up on a variety of items, coupled with time constraints, I did visit the Bastrop/Hasler HEB on Friday evening, March 6th, 2020. And heres what I saw, and what disturbed me.Its true that the parking lot is considerably less crowded, after dark. And maneuvering through the aisles is easier. But while there are fewer shoppers, per se, this Friday night (and perhaps on other Friday nights, at many locations), the clientele were hard-working, paycheck-to-checking working class families, Latino and White. Generally, they earnestly marched up to the checkout with two or three baskets, each. I watched while a young and inadequately staffed HEB line struggled to serve their working-class brethren. Ive been in the store other times, and never have I seen the extended wait times (20-25 minutes, average) in check-out lines that I saw at this Hasler, after dark, on a Friday night. The difference in the level of service and staffing was STARK.From where I sit, the inadequate staffing level appeared deliberate, as if large working class families stocking up after their paychecks were cashed were less valued (and therefore justifying the inadequate staffing levels) than the ersatz elites at The Colony and other developments (present and future) springing up in the last of the gentrifying quadrant East of Austin. Class politics and staffing levels showed its ugly head in the details of staffing levels, IMHO, at this HEB on Hasler.2. This brief story is individualistic in nature: Earlier in the week, I had ordered a preemptive refill of medication for my condition, a few days before this type of precaution became a formal recommendation to the public, by the Federal Government. (I had read articles about supply chains interruptions of medication, due to quarantines, between the Chinese [who supply raw materials] and the Indians [who produce many generics]). I used the automated system (on Monday, March 2nd, 2020), placed my refill, and was given a pickup time for mid-day, on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020). When I went to the counter to pick it this prescription, they had no record of my order. (My smartphones history has a record of the call, which I showed them). Counter personnel, who were pleasant, nevertheless blamed the telephone system and the automated program for the problem. When I asked when the prescription would be ready, I was told that it would be sixty-to-ninety minutes.Given that my wife waiting in the car, this kind of timeframe was unacceptable. I asked to speak to the store manager. When I spoke to her, her initial response was I dont have much to do with what goes on, over there (pointing toward the pharmacy). I found this answer to be unacceptable, pointing out that the Buck stops with her. I wasnt going away.Given my persistence, the order was processed in 10 minutes, although I had to also answer a number of questions from the pharmacist manager, asking, multiple times, why I wanted an advance refill. I explained why (far better than the explanations I was given as to why my order was not processed, after I was given a pick-up date). Given that the entire pharma business is predicated on global supply chains, Its incredible that a pharma manager had to be educated on supply issues.3. Digital: I have increasing found items without price info . The MyHEB apps barcode function did NOT work.4. Update: 05/31/2020: Ive only been in the HEB parking lot once, since this review. I went to pickup a pre-existing prescription at the drive-through. Two observations: 1. NO social distancing, such as occupancy limits, were apparent. 2. The drive-through experience was terrible. Speakers were old, video was horrible.
We live in Giddings, Tx, so no big grocery stores here. The one we have is nice, but there are things I cant get here.... and I like HEB produce.Cant say anything bad about any of their departments. Help is there when you need it, theyre super nice, and Im thankful theyre not horribly far away. All in all a great store!
This is what Im talking about. Selection and quality at competitive prices. If youre still shopping Walmart out of habit this store is for you. Most stores seem to cater to the clientele of the location which is great because more then likely they have what youre looking for. Compared to other major chains who carry same items in every store with very little variation. Worth a look.

2022-04-12Great store. Special dietary needs friendly. Love their curbside pickup! I like that you can approve or not approve substitutions on an item by item basis and/or include comments such as, only substitute if its also gluten free and the same brand etc. They go the extra mile to accommodate. And dont forget to check out all the gorgeous bluebonnets in front of the store in the spring time! Huge field of them.

2022-03-25It is always pretty busy, the least busy times are between 9pm and closing. Lines move very quickly ,thanks to employees that know how to scan items quickly, and theres a self check out that helps this also. The bakery is on point, large produce section, lots of beer and wine to choose from. About as good as it gets for a grocery store at reasonable prices

2022-06-29I dont care what anyone else says, HEB is by far the best grocery there is. The food that they make is always so fresh and delicious. Being a Texan we always love making Guacamole, with HEB we dont have to because theirs is amazing! Their selection of fine cheese and meats is outstanding. If you dont go and get their fresh tortillas, then you are missing out. They also have a very large wine and other beverage selection that cannot disappoint. This store has the cutest little Boutique with lots of Jewelry, shoes, dresses and alike.

2022-02-12What a place. Very busy but the place is huge with plenty of staff and selection so we were in and out in good time. The meats here are amazing. Great selection of custom cut steaks and seafood. The sushi selection was amazing, and a great selection of flowers for any occasion. The in-store made pizza was terrific, and I love shrimp cocktail and theres always plenty available. This week I picked up some coconut shrimp. Cant wait to try them. I love shopping here.

2022-04-12I really like this HEB, it has so much more than a grocery store and a little bit more. Easy parking and friendly staff help make it my go to store even thought I live 25 min away.Edit:It seems like all stores are struggling now to keep shelves stocked which I dont understand. Every time I go there are more employees than customers. On more than one occasion I see managers and three or four employees having meetings in the middle of a busy aisle.

2022-03-06I am from the Northeast where we have Wegmans grocery stores, and H-E-B is the closest in relation. There are friendly staff members, clean facilities, high-quality products, and fair prices. The employees are always approachable and helpful!

2022-06-10Great H‑E‑B, would be better if it wasn’t so crowded all the time. Anytime we need to go for a prescription or for groceries we need to carve out at least 1.5 to 2 hours for the trip. With the influx of people moving to Del Valle and Cedar Creek it might be time to build another store out that way so that this store and it’s staff can take a breather.
