Half Price Books in other cities:
This was my first time at this particular location and its such a neat little store in what looked to be an old house. I always enjoy browsing through HBPs when I come across them because each is different and has their own personalities. This one was no different. I was definitely pleased to see a cat colony outside that seems well taken care of. Books and cats are two of my favorite things. I left with three fantastic finds and Im definitely going to come back if Im ever in the area again.
Dang near every book you could ever want here i never leave with out glancing at some good options Thank you staff for all your hard work the people notice your efforts. Even tho I didnt ask for any assistance i do like the courtesy and professionalism for those that do.
Nicely kept store, well lit and quiet interior. Felt safe. The parking lot is a little tight and there are many strays outside, but they didnt bother. Books had a fair price for what I was looking at. I would certainly come back here to look for another read in the future. They also buy books, some video games and such. Not a bad spot
Very helpful clerks, clean, well-organized, with amazing prices. The store feels like one reading nook after another. Its cozy without feeling small.Clear signs make it easy to find what Im looking for.Lots of variety for gifts, from collectibles and fan t-shirts, games, puzzles, toys, CDs, records, Blu Ray, DVD, journals, books, computer games and more. They have full season disc collections of some of my favorite shows for under $10!Note: parking is in the back, and half the store is upstairs. I didnt see an elevator.
Great book selection. Rude staff. I dropped off 13 books to sell with most in excellent condition. I gave the staff member my number and he said that they would call me when they were done sorting through the books. I was not made aware of their policy for patrons to stay in the store while they were reviewing the books so I left the store to do other chores. I called 5 hours later (2.5 hours before closing time) to ask about the books because I never received a call. The woman who answered had the most passive aggressive tone and seemed annoyed with me for not knowing this policy. When I explained that no one made me aware of the policy she grumbled and did not respond. When I returned to get their offer, the same woman from the phone gave me the offer and she did not make any eye contact and just ignored me besides sliding the paper I needed to sign. They gave me $8.40 for 13 books. Part of me wonders if they decreased it because I had left the store. Students, do not waste your time trying to sell your used books here. Try selling them back to underclassmen so you can avoid the unprofessional staff there.
We had a nice outing here and picked up some gifts and books for me. My husband asked about a couple artists on vinyl and while they looked them up in the system they werent in any stores. That was nice customer service. The store wasnt crowded yet with Christmas and holiday shoppers. It was really clean and organized.

2022-05-23This place is used book heaven. I love how sprawling this location is. Dont forget the second floor! The building is admirably old and Im in love with the layout. Theres plenty of space to maneuver around for the days they get busy. I always find amazing books to take home. Theres such a huge variety of books - it makes me so happy just to walk around and see what I can find. I prefer to park behind the building and walk inside using the back entrance.

2022-07-03Im here all the time, and almost always walk away with several things. Love being able to look for books, music, and videos in one place. One of the better clearance CD selections for a Half-Price in town, with a variety of prices and material. Great collection of Mysteries, Music books, Art, Literature, Nostalgia, and other areas. Love that the stock turns over so frequently. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

2022-05-19Great experience buying books, could use a bit more organization and some book do seem over priced, but by the same token many are bargains. You just have to be willing to dig through. Go when you have time or when it is just too hot outside and you will enjoy the experience. Second, always sell your books and music here much better than what your going to get in your garage sale.

2022-07-24Good place to score used books. Eclectic restored building off Broadway provides an authentic antiquarian feel. Occasionally stumble upon some rare or hard to find books at a reasonable price. This location is my favorite of them all.

2022-06-24This is my favorite half price books location it has lots of books books that are both newer and very old. The staff there is always very friendly and very helpful its a cozy older building that screams favorite bookstore. My only complaint is a complaint I have about most bookstores today and that is that there is not enough places to sit and enjoy the books.

2022-04-09This is by far the better of all the Half Price Books stores Ive been to. So quirky and full of variety definitely my new favorite spot! Only downside I would say is to get to the parking lol if I could leave a 4.9 I would. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORE

2022-05-07Books have gotten expensive. I used to frequent a lot, but my visits are becoming less. Books are not half price. Some are more than the original price. Hardly any magazines either. Definitely will not return. I will start ordering books from another source.

2022-05-01Great as always. Good place to get lost and find some nice literary selections from the past. I believe the Broadway location is the first HPB store in San Antonio so its filled with great deal of good memories. Check it out if youre in the neghborhood.

2022-05-29Nice selection with friendly helpful employees. Only gripe is that it gets hot on the second level as theyre not sure conditioned, just fans. Also, if youre selling back books, they pay next to nothing for them.
