HealthCARE Express Urgent Care - Texarkana, TX in other cities:
I am an OTR truck driver. I can not always get home as I am a FL resident. I am having a RA flare. Aggravated, in pain for soooo many weeks my husband decides we would just stop. I went in, what an amazing facility it was clean and beautiful. I stepped to the counter. I’d say my level of pain is a 10!!! I had to wait for the beautiful lady to count her personal money and place it into her wallet. After taking care of her personal business ( I hear her name was Leah) I was asked for my license, and insurance (if I was insured). I was given a stack of paperwork. Let’s remember I am having a severe RA. I informed the lady at the window (Leah) I was having trouble writing. Leah answered….. you can sit over there. Minutes later I was called back. The medical assistant (Ethan) was amazing. He assisted me with my things and was genuinely kind! Ethan listened and was sympathetic. I would certainly return to the facility. Medical facilities need more medical assistance like Ethan. You did an amazing job. Leah…. Beautiful young lady. You need to work on your personality and your willingness to help people.
Ive been to this clinic on multiple occasions, in my opinion they are the fastest clinic in the Texarkana area. Today I had an appointment at 6pm, I had lab work done, and in addition to my appointment I also brought my son with me as a walk-in! We were both seen and out by 6:40. The nurses and doctors are always kind. Thank you all for all the hard work and care you all put in on a daily basis!
Dr and nurses were all fine, although I waited for over an hour after making an appointment. The negative review is because I can’t get my prescription. After 3 different pharmacies and several phone calls, no one has an order in their records. I’ve spent half my day now waiting.
The lady who took me back to exam room, took my vitals, and administered covid rapid test was extremely caring, forthcoming, and gentle. I did get her name Keke and I give her all 10s across the board of 1-10. She checked on my insurance and came back to let me know service would be covered. Dr David Williams was attentive, asked questions, asked for clarification, and answered my questions quickly and thoroughly.
My husband and I rushed in right before closing. He was having an allergic reaction to something. It turned out to be from shellfish probably that we had at Red Lobster earlier that evening. The staff was awesome. They started an IV of benedryl, and later added Prednisone to the mix to get his swelling down. They were very helpful and checked on us constantly. The Physician Assistant, Alex gets a big kudos for all the help that evening.
I went in with an abessed tooth and hurting, the nurse was more attentive that the NP. I was looking for a second opinion and was told they did not have the ability to help with dental x-rays or give second opinions. Even with all the x-ray and CT equipment they have in the back; maybe no one work it on the weekends. Had my vitals take and given a RX for pain meds. to help me sleep at night.
Ive used Healthcare Express several times before in the past. I had to go in recently because of an upper resp infection. I used the online booking, which is quite helpful. I checked in as usual, and within minutes, a guy with jeans on called my name and weighed me , and showed me to my room. He took my vitals, seemed pretty professional. He was a nurses aide. Then the PA came and saw me, asked me what my signs and symptoms were. He suspected it was the flu, so he sent a nurse in to swab my nose. It was a nurse by the name of Michelle, let me tell you, she had the WORST bedside manor I have EVER come across!! I am an RN myself, so I have sympathy for my fellow nurses. But she came in with NO GLOVES and RAMMED the swab up my nose. Did not even explain what she was going to do, and worse, had absolutely NO COMPASSION!! My family member was right there watching it and could not believe it. I was ashamed to call her a fellow nurse. I would of NEVER of treated my patients that way. I have been in this line of work for 20 years, and thank god I hope to NE VER get that cynical as that young nurse. I hope she never has a family member to be treated like that, but she would probably be the kind to act high and mighty. Yes, I am glad we have an alternative care to go besides the ER, but please BEWARE, and have someone go with you.
Came in 15 minutes early and sat for an hour and 15 minutes. Appt was at 9 am. Asked receptionist why were sitting so long and she called somebody and said about 15 more minutes.Definitely need help in there scheduling.Talked to a fellow that said he was 5 minutes late the day before and they turned him around for another day. Talk about double standards.
Normally, I get excellent service here but I went on 1/29/19 for an upper respiratory problem. i was given antibiotics. That was great. I also asked the PA to refer me for a mammogram and a bone density test. The imaging place has yet to see a referral for the bone density test and they said the referral for the mammogram was sent by a PA from Paris, Texas whose credentials they would not accept. I love going to Health Care Express because I dont have to waste 2 or 3 hours of my time waiting to be seen for 5 minutes. PLEASE HELP ME GET THE REFERRALS THAT I REQUESTED. Thank you
Never going back here again. Only person that was polite was the lady at the front desk. Literally told them what all was wrong with me, doctor never seemed to care and saw me for maybe 2 minutes. Not the results I was looking for. Plus, I have insurance and it cost me WAY more than any other clinic I’ve visited.
HealthCARE Express makes being sick a pleasant experience. The office and medical staff go out of their way to make you comfortable and address your concerns. I hate to be sick, but they hate for me to be sick, too, and do all they can to get me on the road to feeling better.
Fast, friendly and efficient service from the front desk all the way to the provider. Every provider has been very sweet to my children and spoke to them to include them in their care. They have also been great with follow up calls that I have had. Highly recommended for adults and children.
DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL LIE TO GET YOU IN THE EXAM ROOM AND BILL YOU FOR IT LATER. I went to healthcare express during a work trip with coughing and wheezing and dizziness. I got there and told them I wasnt from the area and I wanted to make sure they were a participating provider with my insurance. So after waiting in the waiting room for 30 minutes the receptionist told me she was happy to tell me my insurance was accepted and Id be good to go. So 3 chest x rays later I had pneumonia and bronchitis as well as an upper respiratory infection. Not thinking I would have any problems I signed all the forms got Medicine and left. Then 3 months later, I get a bill for almost 400 dollars, because guess what? THEY ARE OUT OF NETWORK. I called them to explain the situation and the extremely rude billing lady pretty much told me it was all my fault and I could pay or go to collections. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE.
I give one star for a good reason. I am told it would be $150 if I pay cash to get treatment. So I payed cash. Then I get a bill in the mail. I love the part that implies I was in the room for 45 minutes. Well maybe I was just waiting that long but I was only in the room for anything medical for a few minutes. I payed the new bill because what can you do with people like this But there are a lot of other places now in Texarkana. I think I will see if they give me a mystery bill next time I get sick instead.
I waited in the waiting room for 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time and spent another 30 minutes after they took me back before the doctor ever came in. They said they would call me in a prescription and never did. When I called them and said they never called it in a woman who claimed to be a nurse said she would send it in immediately. 20 minutes later the pharmacist still did not have it. I called back to see what was going on and a rather rude man claiming to be the only nurse said he had no clue what I was talking about. He claimed that he was going to fax my prescription in and it is still not here. Waste of $200. If I could give no stars I would.
I had to take my son here while we were out of town for Christmas break. He was seen for less than 5 minutes and we were billed $360 for an office visit, which is ridiculous. I was told at the time of checkout that the bill was $100 but when it ran thru insurance I was called and told there was an additional amount due, which I was unaware of. I can understand if additional tests were ran but this was only for an office visit. I dont live in the area so I wouldnt go there again anyways, but if I did I would never visit this establishment again. What a rip off!!!
Took my mother here, let me say first that I normally love the medical staff at HCE, normally everyone is so nice and the location on Arkansas Blvd is amazing, however, this visit was different, the nurse (dont remember her name) didnt think to ask because she seemed as if she couldnt be bothered, when she was asking questions that my mother didnt understand, I answered for her and she completely ignored me and rolled her eyes! So disrespectful and talked to my mother like she is an idiot, MANY people doesnt know medical terms, I do but my mother doesnt and she just acted as if my mother was less of a person than her! I absolutely didnt feel comfortable with her in the room and the attitude she had was HORRIBLE! she honestly doesnt deserve a job in healthcare! But thats my opinion! I will continue to use the other location on Arkansas Blvd, but this little young lady has ruined me ever bringing a family member or myself to this location!
Best Place to Get Zero care. 👍 Have anything wrong, they will just give you a steroid. Had personal experience with multiple patients of theirs and they will give you a shot of steroid every time. I would highly avoid this place. Please go to the Neighborhoods Emergency room.
My wife hurt her arm one evening working. We went to HC Express on Richmond road because the swelling and pain continued to get worse. It was almost closing time, but they got us in and checked out. They said it looked like part of her elbow had been damaged possibly broken. They gave her a splint and sent us to Walgreens to get pain medication, saying they would schedule her doctor appointment the following morning. Waited an hour at Walgreens the prescription never came through. The next morning they never called with an appointment. My wife called them the day nurse said she had to wait possibly 3 days to get an appointment. My wife is still in pain, cannot get medication, and the day nurse will not schedule her an appointment. She cannot tell us why or give us a reason we have to wait - just that we have to. I called and they would not even let me speak to a doctor, putting me on hold for 20 min. At this point my wife is skipping class which she really cannot afford to do, and going to the hospital. I am not totally dissatisfied with the service that night, but everything following has been unacceptable. If you have an issue my recommendation is just go to the hospital.
The service was outstanding and reasonable in cost compared Hospitals. Very clean and great doctors and staff. I would like to thank them all for helping me with my health issues. I will look forward to my next physical exams and future health care. Kevin Fisher , Hooks Texas
I dont remember the name of the Doctor I saw today, but he wasnt the very pleasant. I had an asthma attack yesterday, as I told him, 1st one in over a year. Cough so much my chest was hurting. I had to find all my nebulizer stuff & my albuterol was expired so I told him I had to take double treatments. I wasnt wheezing at the time (treatments) & he rolled his eyes when I asked him for steroids. I showed him my lips covered in fever blisters, inside and out but he didnt give me any medication for them, I know it exists we use it at the hospital. He was in such a hurry to get away from me he didnt ask about other symptoms I might be having like intense cramps in my chest, hands, & feet. I wanted to ask him for some phenergan cough syrup or even just phenergan (for a cough suppressant) but he seemed to want nothing more to do with me. I think his name was Meredith? Someone needs to talk to him about how to listen to people & maybe you could send him to have a heart surgically implanted.
I had diabetes for a year without knowing what was wrong. So I went to healthcare express on richmond and 7th Street and told the Drs my symptoms over and over, over several visits.... and not one Dr could figure it out, even after doing tests... I went to a different Dr and with in 1 hour, he had the correct diagnosis and treatment planned out.... Healthcare express is a pitiful excuse for a medical facility... and after I confronted healthcare express about what happened they now refuse to see me... shame is a sorry excuse to not see someone... so I filled a complaint with the medical board of Texas and I pray to God they fore the inadequate Drs who miss diagnosed me for a year!
After Dr Kahn left everything changed. The knee injections I had there were pure torchure. Dr Emchee Kennedy told me to be quite and the medication would work. Left and went to other Dr had the same thing other knee felt like a bee sting and no sedation they billed my insurance for anstheia 786.00 four times it never did anything. If you have the right doctor no need for anstheia
Well, I finally got my insurance to pay this bill but yet it is in pending and Healthcare Express sent me to a collection agency... Before I got out of someone that if I walked in and paid a walk in fee with no insurance which was 80 dollars I wouldn’t have been billed but since I had insurance and I pointed out they charged me 35 dollars for a copay but since it was urgent care and my insurance copay for urgent care would have cost me 70 dollars I said I’m happy to pay the 35 dollars difference and I was wondering why they charged my insurance company $681.00 dollars when if I didn’t have insurance I would have only paid 8o dollars for a visit... Is this insurance fraud and now that they sent me to a collection agency and it is stuck on my credit history as not paying them which they got paid three to four times over 80 bucks then I’m stuck with it now... I think I need to find someone to investigate this place...
We had a good experience until the doctor prescribed a 190.00 antibiotic (generic form) and I called and called and my husband even went In to get a less expensive antibiotic, but hours later no one would change it... we bought the expensive one b/c our daughter had a 102 degree fever... which is why we went in the first place...All we needed was a more reasonably priced antibiotic...
I wouldn’t give this place one star if I had a choice...Nurse gave up on getting vitals on my 20 month old sonSo called doctor (APN) didn’t even look at his bumps and gave up on looking at his ears...told us he had an ear infection and an allergic reaction hence the bumps all over.....Steroids for the bumps and antibiotics for the ear infectionPaid 50$ copay, 25$ for pxArgued with him I couldn’t give him BenadrylWhen I got back to ft hood, took him in to see his PED...Hand foot and mouth....So am I pissed my son took antibiotics and steroids for no flipping reason? You bet I am....beyond wordsIf you got tricare, don’t go here....

2022-07-11We were in town from Georgia visiting family & had an urgent need. Both the front office and the providers were so professional and kind, really helping my son to be the most at ease that he could be in an uncomfortable situation. We are thankful to have had such a great place available to us with this unexpected health event. Thank you so much.

2022-04-24Went in on Saturday morning with Plurisy, got X-rays, labs, and an EKG. Was pleasantly surprised that I was still out of the clinic in less than 2 hours. Very professional and thorough. Definitely recommend.

2022-07-22I called in regards to my husband testing positive for Covid, I asked what meds they could prescribe. After a pause, I was told they could offer advice on cough medicine. Okay, this is not only inexcusable, but absolutely appalling and disgusting! The bottom line is - These people dont care about you, they are STILL catering to Big pharma and literally putting lives at risk. Its been over 2 1/2 years since weve been dealing with Covid and these doctors know there are proven meds. that absolutely work!!! No excuse! None!

2022-01-10I came in today because Im sick and had been around several people with covid in the last 5 days. I waited a long time but they were alot of people ahead if me. This is a Sunday. Most others are closed. When I got my turn I was taken back with apologies about the wait. They were swift and professional. I got a covid and flu tests. No covid but have both A&B flush. Got my prescriptions called in and apologies again for the wait. I was very pleased with the service and the time. Im sure I would have went through 8 hrs at the hospital like I did last time. A couple hours and 16 people ahead of me isnt bad. Thank you for your services!!!

2021-08-26I took my 15 month old in to have splinters removed from his foot at 9am and they were pretty busy. We were in the waiting room for an hour and 15 minutes before being brought into a room. Once we were in the room we waited while I attempted to entertain my toddler, who was still in pain, and by the time we had waited 45 minutes no one had came in to assist. At this point my toddler was tired, hungry, and unwilling to patiently wait any longer, so we left. As we were leaving there was an empty exam room with 3 nurses sitting a laughing and chitchatting away!! Highly irritating to see after waiting so long for someone to help me remove splinters from my child’s foot. We wasted a total of 2 hours at this facility this morning. I do understand how busy they were, but for no one to even come check on us or even assure us we had not been forgotten was highly irritating. Especially since the nursing staff had time to hang out around the office. You’d think they would want a crying baby out of the office just as bad as I wanted to leave.
