This is the most unprofessional and non responsive company I’ve ever used for rental car. Where do I start? We rented a vehicle at Hertz Dallas Love field and they upgraded us to a Tesla. Not knowing anything about Tesla’s we agreed. My wife’s best friend was having a wedding no better way to arrive than in a Tesla right? WRONG! First they just left us hanging without showing us vehicle features and how to operate. The one thing I did notice before we left out of hertz was the battery was only 51%. I asked representative at the gate if only 51% will get us to/from airport/hotel/wedding venue and back to Hertz. She said we don’t send out Tesla’s with 100% battery, 51% should be plenty of battery for 24 hour rental. Naive yes, and off we went. We made it to hotel about 29 miles away and we were down to 26%. I asked Hotel Drover to plug in vehicle while we getting ready and having lunch before heading out to venue. The charge received over 1.5 hours yielded about 3%. Now it was time to head to wedding. The wedding was north or Fort Worth about 26 miles. We started heading that way and my PREGNANT wife asked are we going to have enough battery? I thought surely we wouldn’t be given a car that wouldn’t even take us 100 miles. I was so wrong. We arrived at the wedding and the vehicle alerted us to not leave the vehicle and drive directly to charging station. Not ideal but we had about 1.5 hours before ceremony started. We went to the closest EV Charging station about 12-15 minutes back towards Fort Worth. WE MADE IT!! However the charger attachments we had available didn’t match the charging station attachments. So our rented Tesla died right there at the charging station. So we are fully dressed in wedding attire in 98° heat stranded. We tried for over 1.5 hours to get anyone from hertz roadside assistance team or Love field location to pick up the phone. Finally we were able to get in touch with emergency roadside assistance who told us to put the keys in center console, lock the vehicle, and he ordered us a Lyft back to wedding venue. By this time my PREGNANT WIFE was in tears, sweaty and we missed her best friends wedding. As of this morning our Credit Card is still being charged and customer service can’t close out the ticket until the Love field location approves. We have literally wasted over $1500.00 in hotels and flights all ruined by hertz. I would do anything to get someone on the phone that actually cares about their customer. We will be hiring an attorney if we don’t get answers by the end of the day.Why don’t you have somebody reach out to me asap? This is BS
I have tried to reach this office by phone over 20 times at different times of the day to make a change to my rental. The online system wont let me change it and Im told by the 800# I have to talk to someone local. Ive been a loyal Hertz customer for many years but not anymore. Answer your phones!!!!!
Car and check in was good. When I looked up the hours when I had to return the car at 4AM and the office said it didnt open until 7 AM so I could not get in touch with anyone to find out what to do when I arrived. It ended up the return department was open before the checkin office. So I was good. I just didnt know until I got there. This needs to be explained to ppl returning during the hours when on line and when you call its states that the office doesnt open until 7AM.
This place is a joke they will take a reservation and then don’t have any cars ale you wait and then offer you an upgrade for double the price. I watched 4 people while I waited who were turned away that all had reservations. One person made it two weeks ago and still turned away. They are unhelpful and just down right rude. Hopefully I don’t have to ever come back to Dallas love airport if I do I won’t use hertz I recommend you stay away as well even if you have a reservation
Not a 24 hour location! My flight was delayed, called corporate and they informed me they would stay open. Got to the Hertz in Dallas at 12:10 and was told they have no cars. Next day Maria apologized and was great, she doesnt make the hours but why not pay overtime if an employee works after midnight? FYI all other rental car companies were open. In the future I will only use the competition.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I get there and tell the gentleman (the manager) I have a reservation so I give to him, he tells me he has me covered and comes back with a bill for almost $1200 for a midsized car cor 3 1/2 days! I asked where he got that from because thats not what my reservation called out, he started making up stories.... come to find out he added everything he possibly could to it trying to jack up his commission... he had asked me if I was there on business or personal, I told him business and thats when I feel he decided to make adjustments...I wonder how many people just throw the card out there and never realize that they had just been played...
I wouldn’t recommend getting your rental from this place. The staff is not polite nor do they have good customer service skins. The manager was completely nonchalant about helping me. The least you can do is be polite to people who are not from the area. Rent at your own risk. If I could half that one star I would!
This place is garbage. I reserved a rental car over a month ago, flew in today only to finally learn of the fine print that would leave me stranded in Dallas. The staff was short spoken and unwilling to offer any help or advice for this situation. Will not be returning.
My experience with hertz at the Dallas love Field airport location was great. ElDON, Who was very Helpful and friendly with great interaction with me. The next time I come back to Dallas, TX and rent a hertz vehicle at this location for great service with EIDON thank you.
I rent cars at Hertz and I was disappointed at the 2019 Nissan Versa they gave me. It was older and hesitated at times when taking off at lights and accelerating onto the freeway. The car idled high when first turning on until it warmed up but was dangerous on more than one occasion when pulling into traffic. Never had a bad car from them here in Cali, OR when I visit Dallas.
Super friendly and super easy! DeAndre (I hope I spelled it right, the ink from the marker rubbed off from the card) made my latest Hertz experience very pleasant! He was professional and had me in and out in a jiffy! I may upgrade to becoming a Hertz Gold Member based off this experience. Definitely recommend!
Cars all have a stagnant smell. They say they dont open till 7 am but they are open earlier, as early as 5 am for drop off. Dont bother calling, they dont answer. They run you through most stuff than any other rental agency. Ill be using strictly National and Enterprise after one time with hertz
Toya was extremely helpful in helping us getting a car under confusing circumstances. I would recommend Hertz Dallas Love Field.Lakita was also very kind and helpful too. It was late at night and we had flown into the wrong airport.Toya and Lakita solved our problem and we drove away in a gray car.Thank you so much.
I made a reservation, and on time to pick up the car I lost the credit car, tried to use my debit car instead, and was not allowed, ended up having to pay another uber and have big trouble canceling the reservation. They could have charged 1000 on my debit if they wanted to secure the car
Just returned a car with a tank full of gas. They had the audacity to send me a fraudulent $40 fuel charge!!! Yes, I have a receipt from filling the tank. Shame on you Hertz Dallas Love Field for committing fraud and hoping people don’t notice. I called the hertz number to reverse the charge, and it’s an automated system that says “please visit hertz.com for help with your fraudulent fuel charge.” It’s impossible to figure out how to fight it on the website. Also, the car was not clean when i got it. No “gold seal” sticker and it hadn’t even been run through the car wash so both interior and exterior were dirty. As a gold plus member who spends about 10k a year on car rentals myself, I am disgusted and frustrated that I will likely have to spend hours disputing this fraudulent charge.I’m sure they were betting on me not noticing. I fly into Dallas love field all the time and if this isn’t fixed easily, I will not only not use hertz in Dallas anymore, but I won’t use hertz at all. I’m sick of this.SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! You absolutely RUINED my day. Congratulations.
The best car rental company. I appreciate Hertz even more due to the unpleasant experience I had with Thrifty for charging me $15 dollars for each toll charge rather than a 1 time admin fee as per their communication at the counter. As a Hertz member I am able to go pick the car of my choice in the area specified in the email. This saves time and you can pick the car you like. Customer service has always been great at Hertz and the cars are very new. Every car I have rented from this location had less than 7,000 miles. Drop off was easy and efficient and the customer service was great. Unlike Thrifty, Hertz charged a one time fee of $11 for all the toll transactions. I highly recommend Hertz for your car rental needs!
Worst experience. I was at this rental location 2 hrs. Kicked out line twice. Unable to rent car due to not having adequate reservation according to employee. I understand being short staffed. But there was absolutely no sense of urgency or fast paced movement in employees who has lines out the door.
If I could give -ZERO Stars I would! This location does not take phone calls....The phone is set up to hang up on you. They allowed my 65 year old mother to be stranded in an airport just because she didnt have a return flight. Her father is being removed from a ventilator today. How is she supposed to know how long he will last or when funeral arrangements to book a return flight?! NO COMPASSION! I will NEVER trust this company again.
Staff at the satellite location are very lazy and unprofessional. I returned the car and literally waited for 10 minutes and no one came over to me. I went into the office and asked if I could get a receipt and they told me they need the guy outside to check the car in. Great, and what do you want me to do about that? Should I go outside to find your employee? No one there wanted to do anything but sit around talking with eachother. Terrible customer service. Fire everyone and start over!
Well, u better read the rules closely. For example if u rent through price or how ever if there are changes u HV to go back through price line @ depending on the terms ( read the terms ) NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE. If u need to drop off at a different location extra cost. Other than that clean car ran well customer service excellent 👌.Also higher if u go through Hertz..😃
Where to begin. How about don’t rent from Hertz. I made a reservation 2 months in advance through my perks from work where they provide employee discounts ect. Well today was the day to pick up my rental. I arrive my reservation is no where to be found note I even got an email from Hertz confirming one day before included reservation number. First of all it sent me to 3326 Mockingbird Lane Dallas Texas which till this day still shows as a location from Hertz. Alto is now the owners of that location they were very nice and directed me across the street to the new Hertz location in Cedar Springs. Which is not important but note things started off wrong right there. Back to location representative at the front said no those reservations from third party websites are not valid here I can give you a car but a walk in price. She called her manager whom stated he couldn’t give me a car for that price they wanted double. He then calls someone else in front of me and I asked to speak to them he quickly hangs up and stated I can’t call her again she is at home whoever he was calling maybe manager on duty because at this point I was desperate and was willing to pick up car the next day but now the ridiculous price. I ended up leaving and called customer service which stated they couldn’t help because my reservation was a past reservation by 10 minutes. It’s 5:40pm now. I called several numbers then I got we have no cars available plus you will have to pay the last minute pricing. Avoid this and rent elsewhere don’t let them ruin a planned trip or any occasion you might have.
I took a weekly rental from hertz and when I returned the car after a week, they charged me a lot more. I asked how so, they said because our week is only 5 days. This is outsmarting the customer and is a cheap marketing gimmick. Grow up Hertz and be more transparent. A week is 7 days not 5.
Thanks for leaving us stranded at the airport hertz. Our flight was delayed and got in after midnight even though the website says they will wait for us in case of delays.(already paid for rental) Had to taxi to hertz to find out they were closed and then taxi to our hotel 15 mins away to taxi back to hertz in the morning. TRASH! I swear GO SOMEWHERE ELSE for a rental!!!!!
I made a reservation for a pickup truck to be picked up Friday, 7/9 by 10a. I called the day before to see if the truck could be picked up by 8a. The employee I spoke with could not guarantee an 8a pick up, but said we could check to the day of fir availability, which I understood. We decided to keep the 10a pick up time and arrived at Hertz at 945a. We complete the check-in and go outside to get the truck, to find out they do not have a pickup truck available. They had a mid-size SUV and try to give that to us instead. The issue was we were taking a kayak and needed the bed of the truck. After a 30 min wait, we got a large pickup truck (at the same rate). Although we did get a better deal and larger truck, the disorganization really bothered me. The employees at the Love Field location in Dallas, TX, did everything in their power to accommodate our rental request. There should be something in place where they make sure that have vehicles on site for that days reservations. If the vehicle is not onsite, please contact the customer beforehand.
1.2 stars is most accurate. This is by far the worst Hertz Ive been. Let tell you, turns out that you need to make a reservation to get a rental in this hertz location, that means like in my case that I just walked in and a staff member told me Im sorry, we only take costumers with reservation, the office didnt have any costumer at that time, I walked outside the office, went online and made the reservation, in less than 5 minutes, walked in again and the same guy told me, now I can assist you. He could just told me go online and make the reservation and it would been of great help. Anyway, after that he told me I have to go at the end of the line and wait for my turn, by that time at least 10 people had walked in to the office, and when its finally my turn, a couple that has just arrived at the office skipped everybody to make a question, next thing you know is that they are being serve. I demanded why? and the same guy told me they are gold members. Whats that supposed to mean, he later explained that gold members dont wait in line. What HERTZ most do is buy a sign stating that so that way everybody is aware. Finally when I got my rental a lady apologizes and gave me a free update, which was not worthy because I spent more than an hour to get a rental that shouldve taken only 5 minutes. Plus the condescend tone of that particular staff member was unnecessary and annoying. Instead of treating costumers like that you should treat us with respect and help us.
I left my gate and garage controller in the car. Came back not even a hour later and they tell me they cant find it. Then I ask them to look again and they tell me they found one. Im like they both were on the visor together. I know they were there because that was how I got out of my house that morning.
Hamid man you rock👏 - He works in this location and helped us a lot on getting good service.Rashae you are such a sweetheart❤️ - she helped me in closing the ticket and she works in this location. She is so kind and no words to describe but ❤️.Best customer serviceGrate locationClean carPolite staffLess waiting timeEasy upgrade
Absolutely the worst customer service Ive ever experienced anywhere, even in my travels abroad. I had a reservation through AAA and while some of the issue was lack of information, I had to make several reservations. Each time I went to customer service they were dismissive, rude and offered no other information even after I asked questions. Roshae took the time to talk to me when she saw me sitting outside on the phone trying to sort things out. She offered information and help (she wasnt even in the customer service dept) and she was this companies only redeeming quality. Yall need to give her a promotion. Horrible experience, i do not recommend doing business with this location.
WORST rental car experience ever. KATHY really needs to work on her customer service skills. She stated that shes been with the company over 20 years & Im convinced that is because she knows someone in the company & absolutely NOT because if her customer service skills. Thanks for people like manager John to offset the bad experience.
Does anyone ever answer your local phone? Been trying for two days to contact you guys after my flight was delayed five hours and I was unable to get my rental, I rescheduled flight for today (as the original did not land until 1:30am which obviously you all were closed. Website won’t let me edit pick up time. Can’t seem to get a live person to help?!
My first and last with Hertz. We got our rental from Dallas TX and first the rental was dirty then get to half way to Mississippi the oil notification went off showing 3% oil. We thought it wasnt resetted after oil change. We get to Florida the notification came on to add oil it as 0%. We drove to 2 small Hertz locations not able to give me same size suv. We were told to go to Orlando Airport and man that line was super long. Good thing 3 hours later their manager Neema at the Gold Member Team helped me in and exchange! Orlando took care of us with a clean SUV and oil!By the way dont waste your time calling them they dont answer and it takes you to customer service who that takes a long time getting the right person. I was on hold 2 hours!!!!!
Have not made it to the lot yet. We are at Love rental car shuttle stop and have been waiting 30 min for a rental car bus to pick a group of Hertz customers up. We have seen every other rental car bus a minimum of 4 times. Really disappointing as I have been an avid Hertz Gold user since the 90s.And they just locked the door and left us all here with no cars. Would not even come to door. Just looked at us, walked off and turned the lights off.Never again will I rent from Hertz.
When we showed up at 10:45pm, I was supposed to take my car and go since I was gold status. Instead, we waited with our 14 month old baby in a 3-person line for 1 hr. Once through the line, I went outside and waited another 30 minutes with my wife and baby. After midnight or 12:15, they finally brought us a car but it had a check engine light and loud rumbling due to the AC. After moving all of our stuff and uninstalling and re-installing the baby car seat, we took another car. This car ALSO had a check engine light and cigarette smoke. We repeated the entire process with all of our stuff at 12:30 and they told us they had no more cars. They finally found a giant truck and we had mentioned that we were driving super far over the weekend and that this would be a gas guzzler. After arguing back and forth at 12:30am, they finally decided to give us $45 credit toward gas. When leaving the facility we realized they actually only signed and gave us a $35 credit. Not sure if this was on purpose or on accident but pretty frustrating. My wife ran back inside as they were closing everything up and they did make it right by giving us the $45. Overall very frustrating experience wait 2+ hrs late at night with a 14 month old baby sleeping on you and having to rock her the entire time. Come on guys you can absolutely do better.
If I could give this location and this company zero stars I would. I have never experienced such dissolution when an employee of the company cant tell me how much my rental will ACTUALLY BE. Completely convoluted. I was only able to be quoted for a two-day rental, when I only needed it for one day. I was told if I returned it within one day (at 7:30 a.m. following day) to the drop off location that I would not be charged for the 2-day rental. When I asked how much that would be I received an even more convoluted answer. I reluctantly agreed, after renting the vehicle, 30 minutes into my journey, I discovered the Hertz location that I am to drop off at is closed the day I need to have the vehicle returned. Getting the branch to answer the phone took me about 5 minutes and three phone calls. The solution to my issue was they said leave a note with the keys of the date and time I dropped off something tells me thats not going to fly. Im unsure what business can function in that manner and stay open. Save yourself the time and the massive expense go somewhere else. I will absolutely never rent from Hertz again. Go to Enterprise, at least they can tell you how much youre actually going to get charged. And when and where you can actually drop the vehicle back off. And God save you if youre renting herts right now....
I have been a Hertz Gold customer for longer than I can remember. The relationship likely ended last night at Dallas Live Field. Their website said that this location provides after hours pickup and the Hertz agent on the phone confirmed it so I made the reservation months ago. I even called back many times before flying to confirm it. When we arrived last night, I called the 800 number for the shuttle and they said “did you talk to someone at the location earlier because they closed at 8:00”. But then they put me on hold to come back and say that if I can get to the location, someone is there now. I asked how I was supposed to get there since it was 0.6 miles away. She told me I would have to find a way. So I left my wife at the airport with the luggage and walked. When I arrived, there was certainly no one there. I called the 800 number again and was now told no one would be there until tomorrow morning and there’s nothing we can do for you except cancel the reservation. Stranded outside of a closed Hertz building in Dallas at almost midnight on a Saturday night after all of that certainly ended my relationship with Hertz.
MAJOR praise for Lindsey who works at the kiosk for Hertz. I had no idea that this location had limited hours as I had never flown into this airport and was shocked to hear they had just closed. This employee(I hope I have her name right) had already stayed late and actually reopened for me so I could get a car! I was so grateful for her. Everyone should be aware this place closes at 8pm! My flight didnt even land til 8 which i noted when i reserved through booking.com. Without this amazing employee i would have been stranded alone in an unfamiliar city at night.
Ive been calling this location for 4 days straight now and no one picks up. I am just trying to get clarity on their closing time as my flight lands at 10:30PM and dont want them to close prior to me getting my car. These reviews and their bad customer service have me worried.
The employee(an African gentleman) there was extremely condescending and rude to my supervisor. Hertz you lost good business and a very lucrative partnership because of this employees assumptions over people of color born in this country. This is why stereotyping is very ignorant and it pays to broaden your information on others before working in a public spectrum driven by revenue. Dont not opt to be ignorant..educate yourselves.
Id give them no stars if I could. Theyre scamming crooks. I highly suggest you do NOT rent from Hertz. Any location not just this one. There is a hidden $244 refundable deposit. It doesnt matter how much you rented the vehicle for or if you went through your insurance the price is not what you rented the vehicle for. Then they make up a bunch of taxes you have to pay that was never listed anywhere when making a reservation or rental online. Stay away from Hertz. Go enterprise or something.
Hertz car rental at Dallas Love Field location has a high volume but low staff Accommodations which makes the experience very stressful and lack of professionalism. Made a reservation upon arrival at car pick up there was one attendant and 18 people in line. To add insult to injury there was one counter attendant and 18 people in line waiting to get rid of cars that had already been pre-pay for. If you’re going to pre-pay for a service at least make sure that the service equals up to the satisfaction of the customer!
AVOID. This place is an immigrant nightmare. Indians own it, so it’s horrible managed, the car was freaking FILTHY, Hertz customer service OK’d me keeping the car extra days, and I then started getting automated threatening repossession calls for exceeding 28 days (even though I’d only had the car 9 days). Finally, the super fat sweaty Somali guy at drop off couldn’t speak a bit of basic English. (FYI I’m not against immigration, I’m against bad immigration policies. Stop letting idiots into our country. We have enough at this business).
The staff here was extremely kind, they upgraded my vehicle due to the additional cars they had available in inventory. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes when picking up my vehicle and drop off was super easy because of the drive up service they have. Love working with the Dallas love field hertz team
I hope that I have the correct employee name, but LESLIE WAS AMAZING! I would love to get in contact with her direct manager and send a more personalized thank you to her as I am not able to get in touch with this location via phone to confirm I have her name right... anyways,Leslie sprung in to action without any hesitation when we arrived to return our rental and ran in to an unexpected issue that could have caused us to miss our flight home, the service was phenomenal! no lines at check in or during the return, no waiting around, shuttle transfer was great too!
This has been the single worst rental car experience of my life thus far. I got to the lot and no cars were ready for several customers who had reservations for that time slot. I waited 15 minutes for the car, then got to the exit and was told the car was on a hold because it needed an oil change. After another 10 minutes, the attendant let me take the car that needed the oil change. When I went to return the car at my designated time at the end of my trip, there were at least 15 cars in line to be turned in ahead of me with only one attendant. That attendant told me that I could leave the keys in the vehicle and catch my flight and I would be emailed my receipt. I verified this was accurate with the front desk and left. I was then charged with $100 for a late fee and called the customer service line. Turns out my car was never returned in the system which generates the late fee. It took another day to be returned so now I was charged another $100. So now I have $400, including the $200 deposit being held on my card because this location could not do its job. The customer service line told me that it will be 5-7 days before I will get that money returned to me, even though it was their mistake. I do not recommend this Hertz rental car and will likely not use any Hertz in the future.
I was able to get a great price through Priceline, but the line was out-the-door at the pick-up on Cedar Springs with only 2 people working the counter for several rental agencies. Waited almost an hour to get my car.....pretty hard-sales on the insurance at $40 a day
Very professional and sympathetic. I had issues with my card due to previous fraud and JIM was soo patient. He explained what he could and could not do without making me feel like a burden. Im sure he has heard every issue out there but made me feel like he was there to help not just move the line along. Very grateful. And it made my Dallas trip flow perfectly..
Not sure why this location gets such negative reviews. Have rented at this location several times and have had nothing but great experiences. Cars are ready, clean, and staff is always friendly and helpful. Shuttle runs frequently and it is a quick ride to the location. Highly recommended if you need a rental on your trip through Dallas Love.
I arrived at Dallas Love and went to pick up my car. They had none and were overbooked by 60 cars. They told me there was a computer glitch that let people reserve them days earlier. They didnt even bother to call me and let me know. Its funny, about the time I landed, I got a confirmation that my rental was ready!
Renting a car is a miserable experience right now. All of these corporations need to turn over their upper management for such short sighted, aggressive decisions on their inventory. But the employees at this location still somehow managed to make it fun and tollerable.
Flew in to Dallas Love Field for my wife’s graduation in Abiline. We were on the last pick-up waited over an hour to get the vehicle (this was at no fault of the two employees at the counters). We needed to change our flight to get home instead of the evening, the new flight leaves at 6am, office does not open until 8am, and by golly no after hours drop off. I can understand a non-airport location but this is an airport with flights coming in and out from 6am to 11pm (sometimes delayed).Again, I do not blame the counter staff, I blame the corporate penny pinching that has not provided the location with the resources to handle the customer volume they attract via online reservations. Also, good luck getting service post rental, call center in the Philippines trained to simply say “I am sorry” but with no ability to rectify or communicate issues to upper management.Corporate get this location the resources they need or just close it. Your wasting customers time and money.
I got fees for cleaning crumbs and another fee that isnt clear as to what the reason is. Very rude indian woman booking cars back in and trying to find any reason to add to your fee. I filled my truck to the full line but somehow was still charged 9.99 for 2 gallons of gas each. My bill is an extra 120. No wonder this company is going out of business. I use rentals often and will never use Hertz again.
Had a reservation here for 9/3 - arrived and waited for the shuttle for about 30 minutes before one of the other shuttle drivers mentioned that the location had closed its doors. Turns out they had run out of cars, then just shut the doors and walked away. I was left stranded and ended up taking an Uber over 60 miles to my destination. Definitely wont rent from here again.
I have to give it to Hertz Rent A Cat. Starting with the first day that I picked up my rental vehicle, everything was great. I was in and out in over 5 minutes, the staff both in the office and outside in the rental car area were friendly, well mannered and quick to help with anything that I might need. When returning my vehicle, again all the personnel were friendly and quick to help. I was out in under 5 minutes when doing the vehicle off. I would definitely recommend Hertz. Great job!
**Fair Warning! Long but honest review of Hertz and Experiences from me and my wife, friends, family, colleagues and coworkers**I honestly dont know where to begin with what could only be describe as multiple horrible, cringe-worthy nauseating experiences that makes drinking toilet water seem like a good idea.-It doesnt help if you do a reservation thru a 3rd party, they will not honor any pricing or voucher used. (Even if its a corporate/company account)-It doesnt help if youre married and your spouse uses their card from your joint bank account to reserve a rental here, they will not let you get a rental even a debit card! (Enterprise does allow you to use a different card with a spouses/significant other/ friends name)-It doesnt help talking with condescending, rude associates at the check-in desk because theyll only tell you, Theres nothing we can do about it Its not my problem Call the 1-800 number or I cant help you-It doesnt help if you cancel your reservation all together, because they will still charge you the full amount even when they wont allow you to get the rental you reserved. (This is how they make their money)-It doesnt help calling the corporate phone number with their robotic lack of empathy or human connection. Basic forms of customer service are non existent within this company, they truly do not care!Overall this company as a whole is something that you should avoid at all costs, literally and figuratively. It will cost you more than just your money, but your time, peace of mind, sanity and any hopes of having a good experience with renting a vehicle. i wrote this review in hopes of saving at least a few people the headaches Hertz has given hundreds if not thousands of potential customers that need to and should take their business elsewhere. This review is based off my own personal experiences and those who are close to me, as well as the customers who went through the same or similar ordeals while observing the way this location/company does business. Ive made mistakes and arguably some bad choices in my life but making the decision to go with Hertz for a car rental is by far the worst thing you can do to yourself! Youve been warned!
Absolutely terrible experience. The manager, Maria, was rude, cold, overcharged me, and lied about her contact with me. But the fact remains that they do not honor the hours listed on the website and go with personal decisions based on ego (she said “I’m not gonna credit this” when it was checked in and the msn doing it mentioned an adjustment) rather than honoring the discussion I had with the corporate staff. It should be mentioned that the checkin was a total fiasco as well. I didn’t get the car I booked and the one I got was very dirty. Will never use this location again and likely won’t use Dollar, either. This is no way to treat customers under pressure during a national crisis. These kinds of businesses will fail because of people like her.
Normally my Hertz experience is first rate, but todays rental was terrible. I guess they ran out of vehicles, and even though Im a 5-Star member, I ended up with a car not in the category of my request. Worse, I actually saw the attendant pull this Camry from the back aisle and place it in the 5-Star line for me to pick up (there were no other vehicles in any of the 5-Star parking spaces. Things happen and Hertz is normally top-tier for me. This was a disappointing rental.
What can I say about the people who work here? Two of the employees were the worst, and three were great. In addition all of Hertz employees really need to understand the policies, as well as procedures. I mean after you get your car do really need to have someone at the exit gate to verify that you have the right car? I mean every key is unique therefore, one key will not work with another car. So why do you need to check the car, the agreement and the drivers driving license after all of that has been verified during check out. And there are certain people who should never be in customer service. Before you make any decisions listen to the client first then make an assessment. Because you represent everyone in the company as well as the company itself.
I rented a Mustang convertible for a road trip to Florida last week. Upon pickup the car had just been returned and they only ran it through the wash. The inside was not cleaned or disinfected at all. So much for Covid disinfection. Then, just 200 miles into our trip the vehicle was saying an oil change was required. Also, the front and small rear windows did not align properly when closing the top so we had to manually adjust them each time to prevent a half inch gap in between. Even with those adjustments, the top leaked during a rain storm. Lastly, the passenger side rear tire stem valve leaked and wouldnt hold air. We had to bring a portable air compressor to keep adding air to the tire. When all of this was mentioned upon returning the vehicle the agent just shrugged and said ok. Didnt make note of anything. Just seems like this company doesnt make sure their cars are properly maintained for the vehicles to be driven any further distance than around town. That along with nearly rude service by the counter agent makes me not want to rent from this location again.
Where do I even start! My representative that i dealt with personally was Mr. Elvis. He was one of the best salesman I ever dealt with. He was personable, friendly, easy to deal with, and made the whole experience from viewing the car to test driving the car, he made easy for me. I enjoyed talking with him, he gave me his own opinion about things about the car selection, he went over other cars with me that I had in mind of actually purchasing from Hertz, he did and amazing job I cant say enough about the AMAZING job that Mr. Elvis did personally with me. If I were to recommend anyone buying a car and going to a place such as Hertz, I would definitely recommend dealing with Mr. Elvis, at mockingbird. He would be my go to guy!!! Thank you so much Mr. Elvis for helping me purchase my new car I appreciate everything that you did thumbs way up....would rate this experience far more than 5 stars!!!
I wish I could give 0 stars I have been to 2 locations made prior reservations, just for them to say they don’t have the vehicle. So the receptionist stated they had another car that would keep my price the same but then says I can’t use my debit card because the new vehicle is a truck and I need a credit card. I specifically told reservations I only had a debit card. I wasted 3 hours traveling to different locations just to find out reservations and the actual location are Not on the same page. They don’t have updated information about cars at their locations around the US. Very disappointed.
Reservation/Pick-Up/Drop-off process was smooth and customer service was superb which is what I have always experienced with Hertz. One star is lost because for ease of parking and navigation through the parking lot at the location - it was filled with cars parked haphazardly and too tightly together, which caused anyone who was dropping off or picking up a customer unable to navigate out of the parking lot without committing a driving violation (Note* I was not a customer coming on the airport shuttle)Another Star is lost due to sloppy clean up and preparing the car for the next rental:1) a giant spider hanging from a web inside the vehicle I rented2) a sticky substance on the passenger seat3) a previous customer’s receipt with personal info in the visor and4) ANOTHER customer’s valet ticket still attached to the keys.I still will overall recommend this location to rent from, as well as will rent from Hertz as again, however, I caution all customer’s to inspect the vehicle thoroughly and be prepared for the parking lot.
Terrible!!!! TERRIBLE!!!!I’m a calm person that really tried to treat customer service reps well because I know most things are not directly their fault. BUT in the case with Hertz, especially at the mockingbird location, it was some of the worst service over ever experienced!!! I had scheduled a pickup for my wife at a body shop, which they confirmed, then no one showed up to pick her up. I stayed on the phone for over 3 hrs trying to get it sorted out but for some reason no one could get the branch to answer the phone. And I kept on getting routed to a call center in Asia and I couldn’t understand the reps (no offense). Needless to say, Hertz never came to get my wife bc the office finally closed all together and the managers couldn’t even do anything for me. So guess who came and picked my wife up..... Enterprise!!! Save yourself the time and call Enterprise.
I reserved a suv for my family’s Christmas trip 2 weeks prior and after I Uber there to pick up vehicle at 6 am like my reservation was set up. Only to find out they do not have the vehicle I reserved. Normally I would be calm because I knew I could go somewhere else but not during the holidays. No one had a vehicle like the vehicle I reserved. Not only that but the lady working the front counter was extremely rude about the situation. Really bad customer service. Why reserve or even be a gold member if you don’t take care of your customers.
I am a Gold Member for a reason ... Hertz always does it right for me. If they dont have the car, its an easy upgrade on them, but their vehicles have all been great! I love just walking to the lot, picking a car, keys are in it and drive off! Return is always easy ... drop and go!
One of the things I love about being a Gold member is having the car ready and waiting upon arrival at Hertz. Recently I had reserved a minivan at DAL for six people and all our luggage. I was initially upset when there was no van waiting for me, as there is no upgrade available with the needed seats and luggage space. However, the manager made arrangements to give me a large SUV to at least get out of the airport, and then personally brought a minivan to us later in the day, across town, to switch out. The service was great, the vehicle was ideal, and the rate was well worth it.
Nice car, friendly but very slow in getting the car ready despite my calling before heading there to pick up a car. Only one person there to rent cars and she had me waiting 20 minutes while she did the make ready on the car. There were two men in the office but both rudely informed me that they only did Sales. I tried calling the phone for the rental agent but it didnt ring in the shop...only in the office where I was. I thought about calling Uber to get a ride to Enterprise but the girl finally pulled up. She acted surprised that I was there despite my having called saying I was on my way.
Long wait times at the counter and apparently they stock Chevy Spark. That car as loud as 747 and bumpy like a buggy. It sounds like your in airplane when your driving on the highway. It gave me headaches 4 days straight. They need to get rid of their cheap inventories.
I am used to a better Gold experience. The shuttle was prompt and the driver friendly. However, when I arrived at the lot, I had a car assigned but there was only an empty space. It took about 40 minutes for them to come up with a car so I was definitely late getting to my office--and for the rest of my day. Good people interactions overall, but no car!
Terrible car rental place. They had one worker and we waited an hour in the line. After waiting an hour in the first line we went to a second line AND WAITED SOME MORE. They seriously have no workers and the ones they have are terribly rude. Would NOT suggest renting from this place!
We found our car immediately, put our luggage in, checked for damaged places, got in, drove through the exit, got our invoice and left the lot, all with in fifteen minutes. That was wonderful because we were on our way to see a very sick friend. The car was comfortable, the controls easy to find and drove well. It held grandchildren, soccer balls and other equipment easily.Return was fast, the shuttle waiting, and we were on our way home. The worst part: the car was not cleaned well; it still had a dirty windshield around the edges and the body was only swished with a rag.The best part: no obnoxious smoke smell or the smell of strong cleaners to mask a smoke smell.Thank you for a good ride.
If I could give a zero star rating I would their incompetence is unparalleled. We had prepaid for our rental only to find out they didnt accept it even though they had charged it and collected it. Which means they basically charged me twice. The next family road trip we will just take our own vehicle.
The agent who rented the car to us was friendly, professional, and helpful. I requested a Toyota Camry which was in the class that I had reserved. So, the agent with the managers help found one using the computer. Unfortunately, the black Camry had several scratches on it, including a very long scratch line that appeared to be made by a car key. I was surprised that the form that is filled out to show dents and scratches on the cars is completed by the representative at the exit gate. So, everyone waits in line while each car is inspected. That is after waiting in a line of 6 customers inside the rental office. I rented the car for one week, and it drove very smoothly throughout the week. When I returned the car, everything went well. The price was reasonable and less than one other competitor that I had checked while researching my rental options.
Hertz at Lovefield was probably one of the best customer experiences I have ever had at any of the Hertz locations. They offered a smile and a friendly atmosphere from the bus pick up to the rental process and return. I even had to contact them on the phone prior to rental and they were overwhelming helpful with my rental experience. The car choices were also top notch. The staff with Mario went beyond expectations and felt like a family even after midnight! thanks
Easiest rental experience Ive had... and a free upgrade! Had problems with 2 different Enterprise locations and then went here. Marcus and Kyle at Hertz got us all set up in a matter of minutes and into a much better car than was expected. Will be using this location from now on. Thanks!
Checking in went ok, getting the car took for ever, then when we where shown car it had a strong chemical odor. We asked for another vehicle they gave us a fight about not taking it. Manager claimed there was no chemical odor. It took 1 1/2 hrs to pick vehicle up, sure glad I didnt pick up the day I was leaving.
The people checking the cars in and checking me out of the gate were very pleasant, efficient and helpful which I really appreciate. At DFW it seems like I have to wait forever to get my return checked in. Yesterday, the guy checking in my return even held the bus for me which was great since I was short on time.I have one complaint, and that is that it seems like I see 2x every other rental shuttle before Hertz appears. This is nothing new, but I really wonder why the lots cant be reoriented to allow for shared shuttles.... it would save a bunch of time, energy, fuel, equipment etc and get us to/from so much more quickly.
We recently rented a car from Hertz, and although the experience wasnt flawless, the resolution was terrific. Our car had prior damage that wasnt noted after we drove off the lot. In addition, the tire pressure monitor light came on day 2 of a 9 day rental. After speaking with management, they listened to our concerns, documented the account and we ended up being compensated with 1 rental day charge taken off our bill and a voucher to use on a future rental. The Hertz staff went out of their way to ensure that our concerns were addressed and we were compensated for our trouble. Customer service at its finest was demonstrated by Kerry and Miguel! My husband and I would not hesitate to rent from Hertz at this location again.
Arrived after 10:00PM and desk was still being staffed by 3 people. Assigned car was not in assigned space due to another customer driving it away. But before I could get back to the desk, a Hertz rep ran after me in the parking lot to tell me the mix up and I did not need to move. They drove a new van to me, helped load my luggage and told me to drive to the exit gate and my new paperwork would be waiting for me. It was. Car was as ordered and price within $5.00 of original estimate. The return was easy and quick with a bus to the terminal waiting. With just my wife and I, they took us right to the terminal. Great job Hertz!
This is the worst rental company in the world. Theyll take your money then refuse to rent you a car because you cant pass a random credit check. Horrible, rude customer service that told me to just use another company as though that were an option at the last minute. Never give them your patronage.
Been on hold for an hour, absolutely no service. Our car is shaking, hurting the drivers arms, passengers are extremely uncomfortable, seatbelts are locking due to the shaking. I am very unhappy with the service. Now having to drive 81 miles just to get a new rental car. This is supposed to be a vacation not something extremely stressful and unsafe.
Communication is much needed at the call center. It would be nice to know if you are a gold member, It does not apply if you book through a third party. Expecally when I called Hertz to add my rapid reward number and gold member number and was told you have that service. Not so when we picked up the car. We have been gold members for 25 years.
Kathy C. is the Best. She made my day!! My flight was delayed til almost midnight and I wasnt going to fly out that late. I went to Enterprise (Im a Plus Member) and they were rude and actually turned me away. The guy at Enterprise actually said try Hertz next door, so I did. I walked in and was greeted by Kathy and even though it was 9:45PM she was upbeat and on her game. She said Sure I can help you. This lady made my day, week and month all in less than 15 minutes. Thanks for the Great Service.... Mg
After having my flight delayed and changed, I arrived at Love Field an hour past my scheduled time. When I went to find the shuttle for getting to Hertz, the shuttle was literally outside the door waiting. I got on and he took right off. I am not quite sure if the driver was waiting for me specifically, but I sure felt like it! Thank you Hertz for being ready for me even at midnight!
Not my best Hertz rental but acceptable. Arrived early and the class car I reserved was not available. I did get another for the same price which proved to be OK. Desk agent was difficult to understand. I did not get offered the usual location map which would have been very helpful as I had not been in Dallas in 30 years and getting back to Love was a challenge. The car was clean and as mentioned acceptable. Return went well with no problems.
Went to pick up prepaid car at night, Kathy and her manager refused pickup saying that my DL is not valid as per their own rules, though Texas DPS website clearly states-NOTE: If your Texas DL, ID, CLP, CDL or EIC card expired on or after March 13, 2020, your card is still valid and you are not required to renew at this time.A waiver has been granted for the expiration date of your card that remains valid for 60 days after the Department provides further public notice that normal operations have resumed. You may download a copy of the Verification of Driver License Expiration Extension (PDF) notice. All local and state law enforcement officials have been notified of this expiration waiver. When the Department resumes normal operations, you will be able to renew without any penalty. They dont even listen if you have valid point and mentioned that policy made by their Director, wanted to keep booking money as they refused refund when asked from customer service. Not going to rent from this place ever we missed an important trip because of their wrong rules and ignorance as it was late night and no cars were available at decent rental rates at 11th hour, never prepay if you want to save the juggle of getting back your hard-earned money after they refuse you.
Use a different vendor! Inexperienced staff will lie to you and overcharge you! They took my December prepaid rental and used it as a credit towards a September rental without telling me. I thought I was paying $279 for our 3 day rental, instead they effectively charged me $540. They did this by taking the $261 credit from my December reservation, without telling me, then charging me an additional $279. I’ve spent over 5 hours on the phone with more than twenty different people. 9 Hertz employees have agreed that the employee who made the reservation made a mistake, yet they still won’t credit me the $261. Sure, had I not been rushed and read the fine print I would have seen what they did. I was rushed, the employee said the rental would be $279, and the receipt had $279 in big bold numbers, so I thought that’s what I was paying. Go with a more honest car rental firm who values their customers.
EDIT: Once everything was sorted out, they reversed the charges, knocked off some of the cost and offered us a free upgrade (that we didnt take because wed already loaded up our luggage). So in the end it was just a lot of stress and an hour lost. They did what needed to be done to make this right. So far, absolutely awful experience renting from Hertz Dallas/Love Field Airport. We booked the rental weeks in advance, went to pick the car up, and upon trying to leave with the car, were told that our card was declined due to the additional $300+ dollars required for the additional driver. We were never informed of a fee for an additional driver, but were told by an attendant that if we didnt add the second adult to our contract, the car would be towed and we could be sued. Been waiting around for an hour now trying to get things resolved since they already overdraft our card.
I travelled far and wide . I had come to Dallas to be mishandled by a man named Norm. He had a terrible attitude with a I don’t care attitude. He was very short with me and would not hear anything I had to say. I also contacted customer service prior to my reservation to ensure I would handled properly .
Terrible customer service attempting to exchange a car that had a tire with a nail. They turned me away saying they couldnt help me. The customer service 800 tried their best to get me to a safe location and hertz at love field put me at risk back on the road to Try and figure this out.
Best Experience here ! Had booked a midsize car, but when I arrived there was no car in Gold [ I am a Gold Member ], hence they gave me a free upgrade to choose any car from Five Star. When I said I do not want an SUV [ as only SUVs were parked ], and Since I requested, they gave me a car from Presidents Circle ! I was so happy to drive it for a day
Dont these guys. My wife had made a reservation through Expedia which the Hertz associates (including the manager) refused to honor as the card was in my name. Were married, this is one of the stupidest, most backwards rules I have ever heard of. My wife ended up missing her appointment because of their inflexibility. Dont risk it.
After being a Gold Member with Hertz for years, I refuse to ever use them again after experiencing their HORRIBLE NEGLIGENT customer service. We made the mistake of purchasing Hertz vouchers through our firm, but after calling Hertz in making a reservation, giving the voucher info over the phone and turning them into our local branch, they never applied it to our balance, even though our receipt after car drop off shows the voucher usage and shows our total due to only be $92 after $400 worth of vouchers applied. After trying calling, faxing and mailing, they still havent resolved. Thankfully, Chase disputed on our behalf since Hertz didnt take time to investigate and resolve. Now, Hertz has a 3rd party debt collector contacting us on this issue from October of 2017! What a nightmare! Never again! So if your company has perks with Hertz, choose someone else. Not worth your time or energy dealing with this company!
It has been a living nightmare dealing with this dishonest, slipshod rental service. I regret ever picking up the phone to rent a vehicle with them, and PLEASE rest assured, I never will make this mistake again, nor will I ever let any of my friends or relatives use their scam-ridden service. My nightmare unfolded as follows: I arranged to rent a med-sized sedan from the Palestine, TX location on April 26, 2019 at 3:30PM. When I arrived, the car I ordered wasnt available, so I was given a different vehicle altogether. The agent who issued the vehicle, Meredith, apologized that the SUV was dusty. I also found old candy wrappers inside the vehicle. I returned the vehicle to the Plano East location at 6:30PM Saturday evening, as per my contract. Unfortunately, the address the agent sent me via email to which to return the vehicle, doesnt exist. Furthermore, the phone number listed for the Hertz location WASNT HERTZ! It was a Pep Boys Mechanic shop at a completely different part of Plano, TX. After much anger and frustration speaking to three different Hertz employees, and trying to get each of them to understand that the Hertz address I was given isnt a real address, I finally found the REAL location, quite by accident. I was told by a road-side assistance Hertz employee, to simply park the vehicle in the parking lot, which was shared by about 200 other businesses, and drop the vehicle key in the dropbox in front of the Hertz building, as the business was closed at that hour. She said to write the time and date of my return in the corner of the Hertz contract I was given, and place that in the dropbox with the key. Unfortunately, I was never given a paper contract. Furthermore, a sign in the window above the Hertz dropbox adamantly stated to NOT place any paper in the dropbox. Here I was getting two very different instructions, both by Hertz employees. My nightmare hadnt even begun yet, however. Monday afternoon, I checked my bank account, and found to my sheer horror that Hertz was withdrawing $549 from my account, pending. My service agreement was for $149.73. In a panic, I contacted Hertz customer service in Oklahoma City and ultimately spoke with a supervisor named Ed. Ed explained that the $549 was only pending, and would not be withdrawn from my account. The reason for that large amount showing pending, was that the Hertz employees at Plano East had not yet adjusted my contract appropriately. ED ASSURED ME I WOULDNT BE CHARGED MORE THAN $149.04, and that he would see to that personally. Ha! Empty words. This afternoon when I logged into my bank account, I found that $649 is now pending debit from my account by Hertz! Confusingly, I received an emailed receipt from Hertz, stating that I was being charged $413! My contract was for $149.73. I called customer service once again, and this time, I was connected to a center in El Salvador and spoke to an unhelpful employee named Janeli. Janeli reaptedly refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor or manager. I asked if I cold leave my phone number for a member of management to call me back to resolve this disgusting overcharge. He refused that suggestion as well. Needless to say, no human being should ever have to endure the nightmare that Ive experienced with HERTZ. If I can prevent just ONE other customer making the mistake of renting through that company, then so be it.
Very unhappy with Hertz. My reservation got mixed up with someone else, I was overcharged for items I didnt need. It took over 35 minutes to get a car. The car stopped several times. It stopped at the airport when I dropped by bags at curbside. I had to leave the vehicle at the airport and they had to tow it back. The windshield wipers had oil on them. Horrible experience.
As a regular Hertz customer for years now, this location at Love Field is by far my favorite in the DFW area. Always given great cars with no issues. In and out. The car is always ready when I get there and dropping off is a cinch. I have never had an issue and their hours of operation are perfect for my schedule. I highly recommend this location over any others.
Always give good cars I am a hertz gold member so the prices and savings are always good for me. I just like Hertz overall I only rent from them the past 2 years. I do a prices search as well to make sure I am getting good price and 99% of the time it is always a good prices. Plus no 200 hold for deposit on my account which is always a plus....
First time renting from Hertz (loyal Budget guy) and might be the last - certainly at this location.Longest line Ive ever waited in to get a car (and I rent bi-weekly). Flight was delayed an hour and we got in at 9:30 PM. 6 people in line and we waiting nearly an hour to get to the front. No apology either. Unacceptable. The car was fine but the GPS unit (or whatever that thing is that cant be removed from the front passenger compartment) is completely annoying. Would have been awesome 10 years ago - useless now.
Renting a vehicle through Hertz was the worst mistake Ive made in 2017. As a frequent traveler, renting a vehicle for my family has never been an issue.I rented a seven passenger minivan online prior to my arrival in Houston, TX. The prepaid up front fees were $190.00. Upon my arrival, the local representative suggested I go with the eight passenger minivan for $45 extra per day. The whole idea behind an eight passenger minivan was to have a more comfortable ride.Traveling with elderly people and children can be a challenge. I agreed to pay the additional $45 per day for the additional seat.Needless to say, this upgrade was a mistake. I ended up with a basic minivan that not only was uncomfortable, but it was malfunctioning! The sliding doors jammed and I had more bells and whistles in my 95 Honda Civic. When I returned this upgraded minivan on Thursday, I let the gentleman at the front desk know about the issues with this minivan. He was nice enough to tell me, we are aware of the issues and there is a recall out on this vehicle. Of course this information was never relayed to me at the beginning of my trip.At this point, my rental turned out to be $620 for five days. Thats $124 per day for a low end minivan with 1/2 of an additional seat, recalled doors and busted mirrors.Turo, a local competitor had the Infinity Qx80 for $70 a day. Instead, I ended up hustled into a Toyota Sienna for $124 a day. To top this off, I had to deal with incompetent Hertz representatives from start to finish. I attempted to address the situation initially but the manager refused to resolve the mess his staff created.I will never use Hertz again and I will make sure that none one my friends, family and even clients ever use you guys.
Waited with three others for 15 minutes for shuttle. Had to wait 25 minutes for one person at counter to help the line. Return person wanted to charge me $13.99 since I only drove 50 miles. Needle was well past the full mark as I just topped off. Said I had to show fuel receipt under 75 miles. Complete joke and will not be renting from this or any other Hertz again.
We booked through a third-party website and were told that the debit card we booked with was not sufficient for them to honor our *paid* reservation. After trying to wrap our heads around how any legitimate company would let a third party rip off their own customers, we were left with “there’s nothing we can do about them, they do what they want” and irritation from the agents in clarifying with us how to move forward. It’s always frustrating to pay for something that won’t be honored but always worse when you’re met with condescending attitudes from professionals.
Positive experience again with Hertz Rent A Car. Landed at the airport late but had no issues. My car was waiting for me when I got there. The process to get out was quick. The return was quick also. Will make sure I use Hertz Rent A Car on our annual trip to Dallas.
Our experience with this Hertz rental was bad from the beginning. From the time we walked in the door there were three agents at the counter, one helping another customer and the other two at computers at the counter. There were no other customers waiting. Nobody even acknowledged our presence until about five minutes of waiting when we finally moved from the stanchions set up for a customer line and walked up directly up to one of the agents that was glued to his computer screen. He informed us at that time that we had been waiting in the wrong place in the 20 ft x 10 ft space in front of the counter and that was why he had not acknowledged our presence or tried to help us. How rude.It was at check-in time that we found out they had accepted our rental through priceline even though they were not even open for us to drop-off the car at the time we specified needing to return the rental when booking our rental through priceline. We were informed they dont open that early and not given any other options.Lastly, nobody bothered to explain to us the toll situation in Texas, which anyone who has traveled to the Dallas area can probably agree is good to know about if it is your first visit there. We were not told about anything setup for tolls with the car or given any options of paying anything in advance or told what the charges would be if we didnt setup something in advance. When our GPS took us onto a toll road without us realizing we were entering a toll road we tried to call and ask about it and nobody ever answered the phone. So, we were charged an extra $5 a day every day of the rental after the fact because we accidentally ended up on a toll road for a few minutes the first hour of the rental period. We never could get anyone to talk to about it and werent able to clear it up when we returned the rental because we were instructed to just park and leave the keys in our rental car in the lot of the Hertz rental since there were no agents on duty at the time we needed to return our rental. After this experience I probably would not rent from Hertz again.
I was picked up within 5 minutes from the airport. My name was on the board with stars beside may name instead of the parking number. I went inside and within just a couple of minutes we were able to determine that the credit card listed was an old card and we were able to correct that in seconds and I was on my way. Great service and friendly.
I rent at least 20+ times a year from Hertz all across the Southwest. I have had several issues at this specific Hertz locations and have become pretty aggravated about the issues that I have experienced.I typically will rent a vehicle and fill up on my own when I come back. When I do this, I will leave a copy of the fill up receipt on the seat so that it can be seen that I did indeed fill up the tank. At this location no matter of how I have done this, I get charged for the fill up on the tank when the tank is full when I pull up. I have called back and spoke with management and, unfortunately, this seems to be a policy of management and so therefore encouraged.
Easy out, not so much in. If anyone is reading this, drop off opens at 4:30 am. I spent the night in Love-Field airport since NO ONE answered the phone and my flight left at 6:30 am. I dropped the car off at 11:00 pm when I knew they were open. Would have liked to have spent the night in a bed.
Hours say they close at 11:00p.m., but they do after-hours pickup with your flight information shared. So, I made sure I put in my flight info and reserved the car pickup at 11:00p.m. to allow the system to make the reservation (if you pick after 11:00 it just throws you an error). My flight was massively delayed. I arrived at 2:00a.m. rather than the 11:30p.m. expectation. The staff at Hertz kept the bus driver, and a checkout person there until we made it over. They were in contact with me after our flight landed and had the bus waiting for us.THIS ladies and gentlemen is why you rent from Hertz, customer service is amazing!
I cant give it any stars. Terrible customer service, rude manager, hard to understand rep, defective car (and they were going to rent it out after they reassigned us)! We told the couple we saw so many issues as they were putting their luggage in the trunk. AND we had to.pay extra for spouse to share driving. Terrible! Hertz is NOT number 1 in my book!
Arrived after regular hours. A sign was on the table directing us to take the hertz shuttle and did so. At the car yard office, got an upgrade n the courteous attendant checked my reservation. It was quick. The key is to reserve ahead of time. It was a pleasant experience.
Hertz makes it really easy to pick up now if you are a member of the Gold Star 🌟 program. Go to the lot, not the counter as long as you have a reservation and then pick your vehicle out from the designated row/s. Talk to attendant at the exit for one minute and youre on the road. Return is similarly easy, but one star deducted for the unfriendly attendant.
The staff is friendly and he tried to explain every thing clearly to you and let you understand the benefit you will probably have. The car is good even if it was not we expected. I like their pre-pay fuel policy. It saved us a lot of time and MONEY because we dropped off the car at another city.
MY wife rented twice at this Hertz location and both times had a horrible experience. First time she was informed that she would be charged for Gas even though she filled the tank. New policy from Hertz that charges you unless you inform them. Cost us another $ 20 -Second time they kept her waiting for over an hour because the reservation was in my name and they just couldnt figure out how to change the name.I am so done with over prices Hertz cars.Adios!
Dont expect to get the vehicle class that you reserve. I am a Presidents Circle member and reserved a Luxury Class Vehicle and was told that they didnt have a car for me, but I could get whatever they had left, and it was only 2:45 in the afternoon. This has happened too often at this location. Back to Avis I go, or I think Ill just fly into DFW or pay for an uber to DFW Airport for a better selection and better service anyday.
I like renting from Hertz but often cannot because they are too much more expensive than the others. My most recent experience - loved the car - NIssan Versa - hated the experience. Im a Gold Member. Had received my confirmation with my stall number. When I arrived it was pouring down rain and there were only about 5 cars parked under the cover. I had to get soaked getting to my car that was 2 rows over. Not good Hertz.
Great experience. I made a reservation with Priceline. Everything went exactly as I hoped. Only waited about 10 minutes total before I was waited on once got to the Hertz rental building. The car was exactly what I reserved at the price I pre-paid. The only extra was for tolls and that was added to my Credit card a week later which was clearly explained to me. The Hertz transport van was waiting for me right outside the Airport and I was at the Hertz car Rental location within 5 minutes. I will use Priceline again to reserve a car through Hertz. Saved about 60% off the cost that budget was quoting.

2021-11-19Yes I agree do not rent from hertz , this located is very unprofessional. Where do I start ? I make a reservation and pay online before I arrived, once I arrived here is terrible I accidentally put my husband name in reservation with my card. I ask her what can I do all she told me is you have to cancel it and we’re closing soon. They give me customer service number and they were close mine me it midnight. I ask they is they anything that you can do and is customer service open. The guy responded was I don’t know and kept me on the phone. Terrible experience I’m going back to enterprise they treats more than hertz would.

2022-03-10First time renting here as I usually land at DFW. Upon landing the counter had a sign for gold members to just go directly to the rental center. I waited outside for maybe one minute and was picked up by a very clean shuttle with comfortable seats and friendly driver. The rental center was very easy to navigate and my name was on the outside board. I grabbed a car and had no issues departing the gate. The car was very nice (nicer than what I get with other companies). The only issue I had was a stuck gas cap so upon return the lady was very helpful and just charged me for the fuel I used at market rate with no additional fees/markups. I would definitely rent at this location again.

2022-02-16Best place to get a ride.Dont forget to make an online reservation before you arrive. Everything will go smoothly. One more thing that I should mention is the car. If you book the car with sedan then you will get a free upgrade to SUV. This place is really awesome to get a good rental car in the town.

2022-02-13We rental exclusively from Hertz and we were here in early January 2022. SW Airlines rebooked our flight from the morning to a late night flight. We arrived to the location only to find two cars in the Gold lot... both were too small us but the counter guy was kind enough to let us pick a car from the 5 star section with no issues nor up-charge. Thank you Hertz!

2022-04-03Hertz was the only car rental place that allowed us to do a one way rental. We are very grateful for because we needed to make a trip from Texas to California. We easily reserved the rental online and we even received a discount for prepaying in advance. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a car rental!

2022-03-21I dont often write reviews but this deserves one. We came in close to midnight, and Toya knew exactly who we were, welcomed us to Dallas and let us know shed seen our flight was delayed and was ready to help us out! She was incredibly personable, took such great care of us and we could not have asked for an easier check-in process. What a way to be welcomed to Dallas!!

2022-05-21I was looking for a car on a short notice late on a Saturday night. Hamid was out of cars that night, but he was able to help me find a car first thing the next morning. He was also very honest and didnt try to up-sell me. What a good guy!

2022-06-25From the pickup with the shuttle to the customer service my experience with this Hertz was great. They were, fast, friendly, and very courteous. They were very professional and answered all of my questions. Recommend this company to anyone flying into Dallas Love Field…

2022-03-28I’ve always used hertz and never had an issue until I went to this location. The car was dirty and smelled like marijuana. Also, the car’s back left tire had an issue. Definitely wasn’t inspected after the last customer(s) dropped it off.

2022-03-13Terrible experience, they took my reservation for a late arriving flight (I called to talk to in person to confirm that it would not be a problem). After we landed my wife and our three young children waited in the cold for a shuttle that never came. Then we had to stand in the cold outside a locked office after walking a mile to the store since the shuttle never came. I finally just called a Lyft to pick us up since the customer service lines all said it was after hours and no one answered.Upon calling the next day to cancel they said they couldnt do anything at the location and Id have to call another number (and wait another 20 mins for a rep). Then the customer service line couldnt refund my points unless I called back on Monday since only the loyalty department (which doesnt work weekends) had that power.Just terrible service all around. And its not even over yet. They should have never taken the reservation when it obviously couldnt be fulfilled. But no one in the company cares enough to actually go the extra mile to help.
