Hillside Village Shopping Center in other cities:
The security guard has chased us off multiple times, 9 pm the mall is closed! Mind you, the ice cream shop we just came out of barely closed at 9:00 and we havent even had time to finish eating our purchases. It was 9:07. There are other businesses in the shopping mall that stay open later than that. It would make sense if we were causing trouble or something but were not! Were two 40-something-year-old teachers enjoying a fro-yo!
I always have a relaxing time here. The spray fountains in the center make this perfect for a family outing. The kids bring their swimsuits and play in the water, the dads can sit on the side (drink water, watch sports on their phone, chat, read, etc.), and the moms can shop!!I also really like that they do a free summer fitness programs on Saturday mornings. There is popcorn, pretzels, frozen yogurt, and several different stores!
The quality of service rendered when you go into establishments is of great essence. Understanding how to extend a helping hand or offer assistance when you notice a customer who is looking for something speaks professionalism. Learning about your store and the products as well. Everytime I visited the store the workers always knew where I could locate an item I was looking for.I value being treated as a VIP every visit. I am a educator and I teach our student population to be respected and provide quality customer service. Because word of mouth goes along way for the quantity of service you will obtain for longevity of the establishment.I can’t express how disappointing it is to get home after working all day without the items I purchased would be very disappointing. I would definitely recommend this establishment to everyone. And they allow you to take all the time you need when purchasing your products.Thank you, for a wonderful experience and I look forward to next experience!Valued Customer,Michelle
A fight between two females broke out on the side with the water sprinklers with four by standers watching just as I walked out of Barnes and Noble.Me and another gentleman who looked like he was just sitting and trying to enjoy time with his wife were both considering breaking it up. The female getting hit was laying on the ground yelling while getting beat on by the dark skinned, short haired female. She stopped and walked away getting in the passenger seat and driving away.I think the police need to drive through or be on bikes occasionally through that shopping center. I think the shopping center is very nice and has many things that people would desire. It does need police presence though.
Hillside Village is a nice outdoor mall that has some of the more popular stores you see around. They have room for expansion, which is nice, and some stores you dont see often like Oshkosh. Be prepared for a little bit of walking if you come on a busy day. Parking isnt difficult, but sometimes where you do park can be a bit away from the store you want to go.
There are a bunch of stores in this outdoor shopping center. You can walk the entire set of buildings and have a lot of variety of stores. When I went shopping, there was plenty of parking. However, during the holiday season or on a weekend, I would shop early to avoid the crowds.I would go back shopping here.
Best sushi I have had in awhile!! We drove from Mesquite to try it out. Clean & neat presentation. Serving size was NOT stingy compared to other restaurants serving sushi. Would have given 5 stars but the restaurant itself needs updating. Overall, great sushi and cant wait to go back!
The absolute worst place to navigate for someone visiting for the first time! I was just trying to pick up an online order, and my navigation system got me so freaking lost it wasnt funny. I was sent down side streets that were dead ends, and finally asked a wonderful Cedar Hill police officer who took the time and led me to my destination.I totally will avoid ever returning to this mall. Any future online purchases will NOT be picked up here!!!
Very beautiful shopping centre, it has shoe, clothing, food, and all that you may need. The ambiance is enveloping, stores are organized and staff at the stores were very attentive. I enjoyed the experience...that is until I stepped into the most over-priced wing place ever Wing Bucket, really expensive for wings dogdge it if possible. But the whole experience shopping there was very pleasant. Highly recommend.
Super cute little town center type mall with TONNES of different kinds of stores. Driving through it can be a bit daunting because the roads all kinda circle around with only storefront parking. That also means that you better remember where you parked if youre planning on visiting multiple shops. Beautiful fountain right in the center. I think its a great place for spending a day out.
School clothes shopping on tax free weekend. It was busy but, all the stores we went into had friendly staff. Lots of young ones enjoying the sprinkler park. It was a good shopping experience. American eagle, JS boutique and Papaya had good deals on clothes for my daughter.
Stopped by Dillards to buy my dad a robe for Christmas. I felt like the customer service was lacking for meeting my expectations considering somewhat a pricey store. I had changed my mind about purchasing directly from the store and just use online since I had to mail the package. I was told this; that I needed the receiver information like their ID/DL, credit card information. In actuality they needed only the sender information... I was misinformed by several employees about that. I decided I will just order online myself instead of them doing it. While, returning the itemI brought up the conversation; I just bought this and needed it shipped. I didnt want to go to the USPS, FEDX and I will have tobuy a box. So, this particular lady listen, cared and got the job done 100%. The robe was shipped directly and got there before Christmas. Almost sure I wont be a returning customer.
-WOW! I didnt not expect this place to be hidding here. What a great surprise. Its a nice little mall tucked away, with a great amount of cheaper urban stores. They have everything you need. Food, snacks, stores, parks, barbers, and more food. The fountain area is definitely a big plus. Come here on nice hot day and let the kiddos cut loose. They have a good pretzel and a frozen yogurt place conveniently placed. You wont be disappointed.Biggest recommendation is to stay away on weekends and after school gets out. It gets jammed packed with highschoolers. They are animals around the small kids. So watch them carefully.
The Dillard’s at this location is horrible. Karen the store manager along with other managers in the accessory department have poor customer service. I wouldn’t think a store manager would speak to customers in a condescending and rude manner, as if they are incompetent. I honestly believe I was treated this way because I am Black. If you read other reviews by people of color, you will see I’m not the only one with a horrendous experience. Do yourself a favor and don’t stop by the Dillard’s if you want to enjoy your experience.
Pretty nice should do a better job of establishing itself on the Google maps though unless you live there hard to find in and outs. My kids live in ennis and I live in Arlington so sometimes when theyre at the mall I meet them there but its a pain thing to set directions there
Convenient for locals who need something quick and don’t have time to go to the mall. There’s a lot of vacant stores and the stores that are operating have limited assortments compared to mall locations. Stores like Childrens Place and Old Navy are literally trashy. I have a picture of 4ft of trash piled up next to the Old Navy cash register where customers wait and Childrens Place is a lawsuit waiting to happen: boxes on the floor and not being ADA or OSHA compliant in addition to the clothes thrown everywhere. If the City of Cedar Hill would start demanding even the most basic customer service standards from Hillside Village owners and businesses, they would do more business, stores would stay open and restaurants would survive. Take a page from Highland Park and Highland Park Village, not anything flies there.
I went to Menchies. I loved the homemade waffle cone that was made as I watched. I mixed a deep chocolate and snow vanilla and it was definitely tasty. They have a birthday club you can join by giving your phone number and you can get their delicious frozen yogurt on your b day. They have just about any topping you can think of too.😆
We came yesterday (Monday July 1) to let the kids play in the fountain. We had a wonderful time and the sitting areas were very nice. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING!! We got there before 10am and the trash was overflowing and USED poopoo toilet paper was everywhere! I have never seen a bathroom that bad. The trash cans around the fountain were overflowing so much that trash was blowing out and around. It was very disappointing to see such a nice place be so dirty :(
Places hear are great . The engineering of the access is horrible. The engineer should have been fired off of this design alone, and employed at something more appropriate for his skills such as a janitor. Sure if you live in the area and frequently shop here you will eventually get used to this mess. Ate at razoos for a great experience., friendly help and very good food.
Good shopping area for the family they have a variety of stores for kids adults and whatever likes you have we always go here because it’s close to home it’s not a very big shopping area I recommend this place for anybody that wants to get in and out although it does get a little crowded on the weekends and their parking is limited but other than that they have everything you could find sporting good‘s clothing apparel shoes They even have a water area for you kids to play in which I love about this place
I visited Carters today and normally I have a good experience, however, today I did not have a wonderful experience at Carters today. Stood in line behind a customer who went first, another customer comes in line on the other side of her. Instead of the representative acknowledging each customer who came first. She overlooked me and jumped to person who came last. Cecilia is always nice and I did not get to interact with her.
I still remember when this place was called Uptown Village. The events are still just as fun, though!!! Always be on the lookout for any musical night. It’s life changing and elating! You can camp out, dance, and sing. It’s wonderful! The shops are so convenient as well.
I love coming here even with the horrible traffic. There are a variety of store and even some places to eat. Across the street you have even more of a variety of places to shop. There’s even a Walmart across the street. This is a great location but gets extremely busy.

2022-06-18We love the Hillside Village. Everyone beware that the interactive splash pad fountain is OFF. I’m not sure if it’s permanent or not. I hope not because it was such a highlight in the summer since the mall is outdoor!

2018-01-17I have to say, this is a really nice, clean area to shop at. From Victorias Secret, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker, Rue 21, Champs, etc you have a great variety of stores to choose from. You have places to eat as well. The restrooms are super clean, which says a great deal, in my opinion. The issue I have is finding parking and the traffic when its full. Its a lot of twists and turns and can be such a slow pace. On another note, security is good here.

2018-09-24My favorite shopping place in Cedar Hill area. All branded and high end stores are located here. Peaceful atmosphere, clean area, beautiful landscape and fountains. Snacking and eating places are also available. Sometimes we go there just for ice cream or family fun besides shopping. A Must visit place. Give it a shot please.
