Hilton Garden Inn Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi
There is a reason why Hilton is one of the greatest hotel chains in the world and this location holds up to that standard. After I learned my reservation was arbitrarily cancelled without notice on July 3rd when arriving at the La Quinta North (apparently they decided to sell my room to someone who walked-in the door without notice to me), this Hilton Garden Inn gave my family a room in the middle of the night when the night auditor absolutely did not have to accommodate us. Thank you so much for pulling through in a clutch! And after reading the La Quinta Google reviews it looks like they actually did me a favor because the rooms were Hilton standard and apparently the La Quinta is really bad! I guess theres a reason why I usually choose Hilton....never again La Quinta. Fooled me once...!
Hotel itself is fine. But our trailer was stolen overnight, and items out of our truck bed were taken and the truck next to ours was broken into. No cameras in the parking lot and checking reviews this type of thing happens. Don’t think your vehicle is safe and be careful.
Positive: Everything was great especially during our breakfast the lady that took care of us she was very nice very polite and very attentive couldnt ask for anything better and a great price for the breakfast Negative: At about 5 a.m. there was loud banging as the elevator was next to us was broken in her room was right next to it I did not appreciate that so early in the morning
Both of my older sisters and their husbands stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn while visiting for Thanksgiving. They were all pleased with the hotel. The location was convenient. Exterior of the hotel was clean. Parking was not an issue for them. This hotel allowed pets, so that my eldest sister and her husband could bring their dog. That sure helped.
Positive: Staff was pleasant each time we walked by. Negative: Continental breakfast fee. $100 pet fee. Carpet already filthy before arrival so assume we¿re charged a nominal fee & no real cleaning after departure. Another hotel we visited charged $25 & it was on the beach w/ wood flooring. Never again Hilton
Please upgrade those uncomfortable metal sofa beds. Dont even want my kids sleeping on them hazard things!! PLEASE add a tipping option for room clean up and hotel staff services to the final hotel bill! Good stay over all and Thanksgiving manager reception was really nice and tasty 😋 as well!
I travel to CC once a quarter for two nights and have stayed at many different hotels on the southside This was my first stay at this location and will be my first choice for future visits to CC. The room was quiet, no loud AC or refrigerator, or road noise as the property is a couple hundred yards off the freeway. The shower had a decent shower head and good water pressure. The bed was comfortable and the coffee was good. The front desk staff was very friendly.
The room was very clean and nice. The beds were very comfortable and met our standards BUT be aware who you call when you set your reservation MISINFORMS you. We were told (on the phone) that we could check into our room at 12pm, but when we came at 12 the front desk told us to wait till 3pm which was a huge inconvenience. They also promised us free breakfast but once we got there we saw breakfast costs $10 PER PERSON. Finally, we were told on the phone they could provide us a cot bed for our extra guest, but when we got there they said they could not give us it for safety reasons. We were planning on using that extra bed so this really set us back. Overall it was very inconvient and unprofessional to be told one thing on the phone then show up and realize we were heavily misinformed. Make sure to call the front desk of the hotel before setting up a reservation because they might try and hit you with different guidelines.
Stayed here 2 nights and have to say that I really enjoyed my stay. The front desk staff were very friendly and the lobby area was well kept. I liked the little store area by the front desk. They had a nice assortment of beverages and snacks. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient for getting around town and there were restaurants and even a movie theater next to it. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here twice this week. Once on the way a d once on the way back from S Padre. The staff was wonderful. Alex the GM was friendly and attentive, and definitely made sure we had everything we needed. Zachery helped us reserve just the right room and was just a pleasure to talk to. Sandra and Rhae were the champs at breakfast service. Both of them were delightful and just so much fun to chat with. The pool is heated, with plenty of sun. The grill works great, but you need to start it with a lighter, which the front desk supplied. Overall, a great experience and accommodations
Beautiful hotel, very clean and nice... but when the sprinklers went off at 4 am they sprayed directly onto our rooms’ window. Talk about an adrenaline rush! I thought the world was ending. So did our 1, 4 & 6yo... so much for sleep. Definitely recommend the hotel, if you’re staying on an upper floor! We didn’t want to chance it that maintenance wouldn’t get around to handling the matter, checked out early & found another place for the remainder of our visit.
We stayed here with a party of four from North Carolina & Tennessee due to a death in the family. The hotel was wonderful. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The bar was nice. The pool was nice. My 4 yr old grandson enjoyed the pool after visiting his great grandma. Although it was a short stay every employee we encountered at this property was very nice & outstanding. Will definitely stay here next time we are in Corpus Christi & highly recommend this hotel. Hotel is also pet friendly!
Terrible customer service. Front desk workers were very rude. I had meetings going on over zoom and they’d interrupt me multiple times. I had a friend come and visit while we were there and they grabbed breakfast with me. The front desk lady came over and said it was for guests only and she’d call the cops if they were there again. I’ll never stay here again and highly advise anyone who will be working here to avoid it too
Front desk girl was so so nice. Very helpful and attentive , friendly .The room was a bit dirty. Saw a tag on the floor found an eyelash on the table by the lamp. On the wall there was a squished dead bug and my bed sheets had some black spots which looked like when you kill a bug and leave it there.... The only reason why I give 3 stars was because the front desk girl on oct 23 around 7pm work shift.
Carpet and tile in room were sticky and gross. The mattress on pull out couch was like a box spring. We could feel every spring in our back. We had to call down for linens and pillows for the sofa bed and when no one answered we walked to lobby to get them ourselves. I thought there would have been a door separating the bedroom from living room but there is not so we had them move us to a double queen room so we all could have a comfy mattress. This was not to the Hilton standards we are use to and we will not stay at this location again.
We arrived @ 10 pm on 01/25/2022, stayed for 3 nights. When i walked in, i questioned whether i was even in the correct place because there was music and the small open bar was hopping with ppl having a great time!Night check in gal was totally great and upbeat. So was the day checkout gal.Our room was clean and cozy. The queen size pillows were the softest n cuddliest weve ever experienced @ a hotel. (Weve been to aLOT of them thru the years). The beds were very comfy also.Outside temp was quite chilly, so we had to turn the heater on, but once we were ensconced in bed, we realized the heater was blowing only chilly air. By then we felt it was too late, so we hunkered under the covers and were fine. The next day, I called front desk and she immediately sent the maintenance man, who was absolutely great, in experience, personality and in caring about people. He figured out the problem and that it wasnt going to be a quick enough fix and took it upon himself to go down to the desk to arrange for us to move to the room next door. Offered to get a luggage cart or to just help. He had spent 10min making sure that heater was going to work consistantly, b4 moving us into that room.We were definately snug and cozy!!Every one of the hotel people we encountered were very caring and helpful.Theyre all very much appreciated by us.Id give 6☆ out of 5 if i could. LOLThe only thing we hadnt even thought ahead of time to check for, which we normally do, was if they had a continental breakfast. They did not. We always love to have one available. But they did offer a small, delicious looking buffet of choices for $10 per person.Thank you once again to all!!
The room was fine but no typical free breakfast. They had two servers waiting on everyone so it took forever to get breakfast...which was absolutely dismal. I figured that since we were paying for breakfast, it would be even better than your typical breakfast buffet. Not so.I didn’t know it was possible to make bad pancakes...it is here apparently! Eat elsewhere.
Staff here did outstanding. Was helped by Kayla, I accidentally left my wallet in the room and called the hotel she immediately went to the room and retrieved my belongings and had them in the mail right away to my next hotel. Nothing was missing or tampered with. There is nothing more scary then loosing your wallet while traveling. Greatly appreciated.
After trying a handful of other properties, this hotel has become our favorite place to stay when in Corpus to visit our daughter at TAMUCC. Close to campus, on SPID and in the middle of many restaurants, shopping, and a movie theater. Property is a step back from the highway, so none of the rooms hear traffic noise. Accomodations are always clean, and staff always friendly.
It was an okay stay with the exception of the cleanliness, and the customer service was not good either. Very informal and unprofessional individuals. Priced higher than what we actually got on our investment. Honestly paid close to $400 for a night, and it was not worth more than $200. We stay at Hilton Hotels all the time, so we expect a certain level of service, and this place did not have it.
Great stay! Check-in was a breeze and accommodating as was check-out. Room was very clean upon arrival. Best part was no interaction with desk or staff throughout my stay due to their check-in and check-out process. Will definitely stay again. They also have many first level rooms which is most accommodating during pandemic times.
There was nothing to criticize, it was clean, friendly, working gym and pool. I would give it a 4, since it is a very good hotel, but nothing special. The reason i give it a 5, because its average ratings of 4.0 is not deserving comparing to other hotels in the area. And honestly it exceeded my expectations of 4.0 rated hotel.
I usually prefer Hilton hotels. This one was not so good. The room had a smell that they attempted to cover with some fragrance. Gave it an unusual smell. The decor is pretty dated. They put a seal on the door after they clean it? Guess they have a problem with people sneaking in the rooms? I dunno. The seal just sticks back if you put it back. Biggest complaint Hilton’s offer breakfast. This location wanted to charge $5 for a crummy grab-and-go boxed breakfast. The gym was nice and clean though.
UGG !!!!! love the staff and property and stay often . Their cook rules and he’s a great chef with a big heart. My printer broke down the morning of a business presentation. I asked the front desk staff if possibly they could print 200 copies. I told the staff I was happy to buy a ream of paper and printer cartridge if that would help and/or pay whatever ( business office computers can’t access Gmail) I was told that they would print the flyers. I emailed the front desk with the info. That said I had breakfast and stopped at the front desk to pick up printed flyers. I was told that it was (not allowed) to print more than 20 copies by the assistant manager.Rather than notify me that this was not a option as so I could get them printed at Office Depot for kinko,s they sat on it and simply turned me away when I went to pick them up at front desk. They turned me awayI asked why did you say you would help me and then turn me away without a courtesy call as so I could get this done elsewhere?I’m sorry the assistant GM said to me.Unprofessional, no heart, they turned me away in a real pinch when I needed them most.10 year Hilton diamond member
Positive: Location and friendly staff Negative: Although I understand that the hotel is pet-friendly, the pets need to managed by their owners. One family had three HUGE dogs that barked all night long. They barked at all hours of the night and early morning. I¿m a heavy sleeper and I could not slee
This is a very nice hotel, but too many food amenities have been suspended with COVID-19 blamed. Restaurants are open and some other hotels, actually, most other hotels have complementary drinks and small food items or almost a full breakfast. The gym is very useful. The queen size beds are too firm with no soft mattress cover. This hotel is not entirely new. Many old or rusty parts are being used here.
Staff were super friendly, Joseph helped me upon check. He was very helpful and caring, my room was mistakenly booked as a king, Joseph made sure i got a roll away, even came to the room him self and brought a gift basket to make sure everything was fine. He moved us to another room the next day once a queen room became available. Overall my stay was good, pool didnt have towels, Staff were quick refill the towels once we reported it. Pool was great, wish this property had a hot tub. Would make a great addition!
Disappointed with Hilton at this property. Room did not get made up when asked, tried to have a nice breakfast and there were 3-4 dogs fighting and barking during our breakfast - I mean really going at it. Owners should have taken pets outside but did not. It was like eating breakfast at the zoo.
We checked in on Jan 16th with The Barrios unexpectedly and Monica was very attentive to our needs. Very respectful, courteous and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was nice to be greeted with a big smile as we walked in especially during this stressful covid 19. Great 👍 job Monica. Keep up the good work. There are not too many friendly faces like you. God bless . Mr and Mrs Hernandez .
HORRIBLE! Our first room had an unbearable mildew/mold smell and we had to be moved. The second room was adequate but not Hilton standards. Walls were thin, guests were noisy. We later were charged a $125 fee on our credit card. When we called to inquire what this erroneous charge was we were told it was for our pet. The lady said she was the supervisor and that all Hilton properties charge a pet fee. Not true. We have stayed at many Homewood Suites with no fee. If a hotel wants to charge a customer’s credit card for a “pet fee” they should make sure that is communicated through their employees and with signage at the front desk at a minimum. We will never book here again.
This place is the best stay ever. All the staff went above and beyond. Sara at the front desk is wonderful and always smiling. Sam at the bar is on top of her job. And that cook. Marissa she’s got some great talent and skills!!!!!! They made my stay one of the best ever. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. I will be returning soon and this is my go to place! Thanks again everyone for making me feel at home
Very clean, smelled great. Liquor seemed a little watered down but I was really glad they had a bar in the hotel! Great place for a long stay if needed . Pool was great for the kids & I & also had a gas grill for us to cook on if we decided to stay in the room. A touch of paradise surrounded by palm trees & it was a great location. I will be back here.
Excellent staff, had a wonderful stay. Lobby was nice and clean, however they should have the ac checked. Staff assured me that the ac was working. It felt 90 degrees inside the lobby. Room was clean, wish this hotel had paper view. Pool was very nice and clean. Will definitely return to this Hilton property.
My stay here was very enjoyable, the rooms were or decent quality, and the over all atmosphere was rather pleasant. But honestly what made my stay exceptional was the breakfast and the staff in the dining room. Although it was 5:30 in the morning the staff was friendly and full of energy! Amazing way to start the day.
My sisters and i spent the weekend June 11th through 13th 2021 for my birthday. I notice after coming from breakfast back to room, our beds where made up but the maids left thrash on floor, talk to front desk they explained due to covid they limit the time they spend in rooms, i understood. Later that evening i looked for gold earrings could not find so i said maybe i must have misplaced them. after flying home i notice the rest of my jewelry ( costume mind you) never the less it was mine, was missing also. it saddens me to no thieves are every where. my sister called the hotel spoke to someone and explain the problem. he replied did we report to lost and found . it was not lost it was stolen. my sister also noticed a necklace was missing when she returned home. we stayed in room 206. Not sure if i will return to that hotel again. if so i will be bringing hidden cameras to protect my stuff.
I don’t usually give bad reviews but want to share this one. I do not recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again. I have stayed here twice in the last 3 months. The first time was good with no problems but this last time was different. I know at hotels you park in their parking lot at you own risk. During my most recent stay someone broke into the bed of my truck which had a bed cover on it and stole $600 worth of coolers we were using for a fishing trip. When we mentioned this to the front desk they said there was really nothing they could do but what bothered me the most was when they said they do not have surveillance cameras. If a thief knows this and has successfully broken into one vehicle they will come back again and again knowing they probably won’t get caught and definitely not caught on camera. Beware when booking here because thefts have occurred and this is at the bottom of the list when it comes to CCPD. Also when we woke up each morning the hotel had a light smell of sewer which was unpleasant at 6:00am
We were first given a room with a broken bed, when I brought it to the front desks attention they simply said “if anything happens overnight just let us know tomorrow and we’ll see if maintenance can come out”. Not the response expected from a Hilton hotel. People running up and down the hallways all night with nobody telling them to stop. Room maintenance was nonexistent and didn’t get service one day out of the 4 we were there, not sure if that is COVID related or not. Overall fairly clean and spacious rooms.
Stayed there last week. There were bugs in the ice bin, hair in the tub, hair on the toilet seat, hair on the bed and the soap dish was not cleaned. I emailed the managers on Sunday about it. I’ve yet to hear back. I’d encourage you not to stay at this hotel. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else!
The bath was pretty torn up and our drain was disconnected from the plug, both were not that big of issues though. The room they gave us had an amazing view of staring at another roof/building, but not a big issue either. The big issues we had was that the floor above us had really heavy feet. I suspect its a combination of the infrastructure and the separation between the floors not soundproofing better, and the heavy footers. They kept at it until 11 or so, which we were thankful for because we were about to call the front desk for help. Our room included breakfast and the ladies that oversaw the operation were very nice. One checked you in and the other came around giving you coffee and taking empty plates. Unfortunately the breakfast was incredibly lackluster for us. The front desk was fairly accommodating but can be slow if there are other guests they are attending to or are on the phone. They never had more than 1 person attending the booth which I thought was weird. A mediocre experience, especially considering we paid 225+ over one night for labor day weekend.
The room was clean, and the staff was friendly, however, the staff did not enforce the guests to wear masks in the hotels common areas (check-in desk, elevators, etc.). I get that Texas is backwards when it comes to public health, but businesses have every right to enforce their own mandates regarding the health and safety of their guests/customers. Also, another guests vehicle had a break-in. Perhaps the hotel should consider on-site security.
Checked into room 341. Room had peanuts on floor, hair in shower and on floor, and finally multiple ants. I called the front desk and they gave us a new room. Entered new room and wiped down desk, counters and bed. Found bed backboard dirty. Then went to use the restroom and found toilet leaking water whenever water was flushed. Very disappointing as a Hilton Diamond Member. Staff was very nice.
A company I was working for booked this room for me. Non smoking room smelled heavily of smoke. Wifi was not working for 30 minutes after I got into my room. The clock had its alarm still enabled from a previous guest and woke me up 2 hours earlier than I wanted from my phone alarm. With a nearly empty breakfast room I waited over 20 minutes for an omelette so I ended up just grabbing a danish to get to work.On the plus side the lobby area looks nice
I have stayed here on multiple occasions. The rooms are typically very clean and have never noticed anything that screams out needing attention. This is a pet friendly hotel and that is a plus in my book. Great location near the mall and some of the very best restaurants in the area. The desk staff is nice and are willing to help. The morning breakfast group is awesome and quick, fast and in a hurry.
My vehicle was broken into at this property. Staff informed me they dont have cameras on property and I would have to wait for the manager to arrive in the morning to get an incident report. 2 hours later I was able to speak with a manager and he states they dont do reports for theft. Then he states well its corpus christi. Like thats an excuse for what happened
Love love love it. The hotel was very clean. Staff was amazing. Breakfast was the best Ive had at a hotel. So many choices. Hard-boiled eggs. Yogurt. Waffles. Pool is salt water.i wasnt disturbed by the noise of other guests. My only complaint would be we had to fix our reservations twice. We booked online and when we got the confirmation email the dates were wrong. We called and fixed. When we arrived the reservations still were not correct but he desk clerk accommodated us very easily. The pricewe paid for the room was double what we were quoted per night but like I said fantastic hotel. We will be back
Staff was fantastic, was here on a family trip and stayed with my family at this hotel. Breakfast was great, pool was a nice addition, it was also heated.Pros: Great location, Friendly staff, breakfastCons: Grill in pool area was broken, did not have any nobs to turn it on, and no sparker.Overall my stay was awesome,
Rooms are ok, wish the ac units were stronger in the room. Gym is very basic with a weight set, 2 treadmills, elliptical and bike. Thankfully they do have an exercise ball and adjustable bench along with towels and in room water. Breakfast is nice in that it is complimentary and you make your order. It arrives freshly cooked at the dining area. Make your waffle with a variety of toppings, fruit bar with many juices on ice. Pool was relatively clean and lots of seating. Great for a cool dip in a hot day. Beach is about 15-20 minutes away from the hotel.
The room I stayed in was Very clean, and I looked. For dust, cobwebs, hairs - anything. The place had obviously been well- cleaned. The two people who worked there that helped me could not have been nicer. I was here for only a few hours but they were very pleasant. Thank you!!!
Stayed here only because of outdoor pool. The pool is small and the lobby bar is closed during best time you would use the pool area. Breakfast is not included. The beds are ok. Our first front desk attendant was not friendly or helpful, other attendant was nicer and more knowledgeable. Would recommend staying at the Hyatt Place across the street better beds and includes a great breakfast, only downfall there is the pool is indoors.
When we first arrived we were put in a room with no air conditioning when we let hotel staff know they quickly put us in another room. The second room the water in shower was slow draining but we were so tired we just showered. We did let staff know about pproblem. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I went to the front and was going to buy water but staff gave it to me because of problem with room and in the morning was given breakfast for our troubles with rooms. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Over all good stay.
Location is fantastic. Well back from the road. The staff were professional, helpful and took care of us quickly. The desk associate knew the hotel, ammeneties offered and knew the area well. We did not eat at the restaurant but the breakfast smelled amazing. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Would stay again!
The staff was terrific, but the building itself was not. The entire hotel had a smell of mildew and the hotel was incredibly humid. So much so that everything felt damp and sticky. The AC system needs a definite upgrade or repair, and then I would be able to rate and the place much higher.
Checked into our room about 330 PM, it was very hot and stuffy in there. Turned the ac down to 66 and left the room for about 4 hours. Upon returning the room was still hot. I alert the front desk attendant and the ac. She proceeded to ask me if I knew how to work an ac. The way she asked me I felt very belittled. She tells me I need to adjust the temp on the wall controls and not the unit itself. I go back to the room to do so and the wall unit wont even come on. I return to the front desk to let them know. Maintenance follows me back to the room and tells us they can go ahead and replace the unit but the units they have on hand are old and may not work either. Mind you its now 9pm and I have small children that need to get to bed. They never once offered to move us to another room or apologized for what was happening. We decided to leave the room and find somewhere else to stay which wasnt easy being it was a holiday weekend. Thank you for ruining our Easter weekend in Corpus, Hilton Garden Inn! Oh and they still charged me the 137.00 too! 😡
Lovely hotel. Satisfactory service. Housekeeping didnt come and clean our rooms and claimed we left a Do Not Disturb sign on the door when it was on the floor inside our room the entire time. Im not a snob and not trying to sound like one but if Im staying at a hotel I dont expect to exchange my own towels and make my own bed. I would have stayed home if I wanted to do that.
Very nice property, little older than most garden inn properties that Ive Been too. However the service of all the staff members is excellent and exceeded my expectations. The front desk agent Justin was very helpful upon checkout, was also very help with informing me of Hiltons Price match guaranty and Hilton honors program. I will be back in December and will definitely chose this hotel again.
I absolutely loved my stay the last couple of days in Corpus Christi! My room was beyond immaculate! The restroom was my aspiration for wet I would hope would soon be in my own bathroom! Ha ha! I loved how everything was so spot on, and how the staff went above and beyond to keep everything clean and looking nice! I stayed from the fifth to the eighth, and I could not have had a more wonderful experience! The city is wonderful, and so was the hotel! I definitely recommend it if you ever find yourself in Corpus Christi
The hotel had a strong smell of parfume or something terrible. It also had bugs crawling around the door and no do not disturb sign. We had to ask the front desk for the sign the second day since we got in late. The room air conditioning was set to 62 degrees when we got in so it was cold for a little while before it got to a normal temp. I would recommend you stay at any other hotel in the area because this place was very very below average.
Not my favorite. Check in could have been better. The lady was informative but was misinformed on the pet policy. Location was great. Bed was comfortable. Room smelled a bit musty. All in all not my favorite hilton stay. Check out was better and they did fix the pet policy issue. Just didnt feel very welcome on the first day.
It was a very disappointing stay! I am a Hilton Honors member in good standing. However, I was not treated with any respect. Also, if you plan to go to your room in the afternoon through the lobby... Watch it! This property turns the lobby into a happy hour and makes you go through the gauntlet of drunks in order to pass through to your room. The dining area for breakfast was also very unsanitary and the breakfast staff put me through an interrogation before determining whether I could eat there or not. The only reason Im giving the property two stars is because it is a Hilton property and has a decent location.
Beautiful on the outside. 3rd floor room got sugar ants after I left some crackers out. Hotel restaurant/bar closes at 10am and doesnt reopen until 5 or 6pm. One Saturday we left hotel at 8am, didnt get back until 2:45 and housekeeping had barely begun cleaning our 3rd floor room. We told her to not worry about it and just got some fresh towels and cups from her. Let them know your schedule in the morning so they can have your room cleaned prior to your return.
The room and front reception was great! The only reason im rating it like this is because the lady waitress or kitchen helper confronted my kids in the morning while serving breakfast, and asked them if they were staying in the hotel in front of other guest. I have stayed in so much luxurious hotels and that lady DOES NOT have the right to be asking that especially kids. Dont know if i consider staying there again. Dist. Manager or Manager should reply back
Do not stay at this hotel, i was attacked by bedbugs an my skin now is infected . I have tried called front desk, manager, and they keep hanging the phone at me, they never had reply to my or apologize to me, I also tried to ask them for a corporate number and they had refused this number. It is terrible how my skin is now that I had to go to the doctor. I feel discriminated because I dont speak English and they are just not taking me serious, they just dont care at all. Please do yourself a favor and do no stay at this hotel. Not worth your money or health.
We came back to Chorpus Christi for the second year in a row partly for the beach and partly for this Garden Inn. The service is awesome here. The manager Dusty could not be more helpful. The rooms and pool are extremely nice and we feel safe taking our family here. The kitchen staff were so friendly and the food was very good. There is even an awesome steak restaurant right in the parking lot. The location is maybe 10 minutes from the beach. We will be back again.
I visit the city regularly for work and usually stay at this hotel whenever I can. Normally the experience lives up to my expectations. This time however, my room faintly smelled of cigarette smoke. And unfortunately, it was the only available room for the night. To the hotel staffs credit, they immediately rushed up a spray bottle full of air freshener (which I used liberally) and offered to credit me with additional points. (Later, they even comped me an ice cream chocolate bar.)Luckily the air freshener took just enough edge off the smell, so that my stay was salvaged. All in all, what could have been an unpleasant experience was made an overall pleasant experience by the wonderful, understanding, and friendly staff. And I will continue to return to this hotel whenever possible, but with the caveat that I no longer go back to that same room.
Staff couldn’t have been more courteous and friendly. Rooms were clean everyday of our 3 day stay in Corpus Christie. Joseph was amazing and very helpful not only about the hotel, but other stuff to do in town as well. Rooms are a little older, but very comfortable and clean. If you are in Corpus Christie, give these guys a try, you won’t be disappointed.
The worst Hilton experience Ive ever had. The room smelled like mildew and urine and the carpet was soaking wet. I appreciate clean carpets but leaving them wet is not acceptable. When I complained I was told well were sold out, I dont have an answer for you maintenance offered to bring me old towels to sop it up. Really? Really? Then he informed me of I wanted to cool the room I would have to turn the AC down to 65, otherwise it will actually activate the heat above that temperature! Most miserable 2 nights in my whole travel history
No complaints, great rate, clean room, easy access to everything in CC, housekeeping was very friendly (said hello in the halls and wrote notes on the post it pad in our room to have a great stay). If I had anything negative to say, it would be that the TV is slightly small for the room, but thats really a moot point. I would (and probably will) definitely stay here again.
Never Again!!! Room 213 was a nightmare!! Smelly, hair on tub and toilet on the first day. Disgusting!!! 2nd day we were out late after attending a family event and all night I was bitten on my arm couldn’t sleep then when I turned the lights on I saw at the bottom of the comforter BLOOD stains OMG. Not to mention the noises from the air conditioning. After complaining so much the first day. we walked out I just told them we had to leave. There was no way this nasty room could be corrected. Also had holes in the curtains. Sofa bed was so worn out you could feel the springs. Ridiculous. This room was prepaid so I couldn’t get my money back. I have asked to be reimbursed for at least one night. We will see??? Terrible Room!!! Would give zero if I could!!
We stayed her for Christmas because we are both from Corpus. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and attentive the staff was even though they were working on Christmas, which Im sure must be a bummer. Rooms were tidy and clean and with no funky smells. Quiet and a good nights sleep.
This is one of our favorite places to stay. They have recently remolded their dinning area. And it looks great. But was very disappointed to find out they changed their splinda to an equal substitute and it just isnt the same taste. Forget about saving the few extra pennies and bring back splenda please.
The front desk associates were nothing short of AMAZING! Kate went above and beyond making sure our stay was EXCELLENT. Upon check in, we discovered that the upgrade to my room was not in the system, and therefore I would not be getting one. No rooms were left. She offered to add points to my account. And advised that a roll away would be sent up. So here is our story. So every year I take my 6 grandkids on an end of summer trip. This year my Best Friend came along with her 3 grandkids. 9 kids total ranging in age from 1 1/2 to 13. NOISE LEVEL ON 1000. We had just checked in and were getting settled when the guests complaints began to roll in. I went to the front desk to see if we could be moved to another location, perhaps at the end of the hall way. Another young lady I think her name was Kaylie tried to find something to no avail. Kate came over to inquire if we had a complaint and I told her the situation, because I REALLY didnt want to disturb other guests who had paid for a pleasant experience as well. She assured me NOT to worry about disturbing the other guests and that she would take care of it. She instructed me to go and enjoy our vacation and if there was ANYTHING we needed to please let her know. Insert huge sigh of relief. Well, right before bedtime Kate called our room to check on us, before she left for the night. Ive NEVER had that done before and I have stayed in some places where I have paid a pretty penny. The hotel was also very nice, clean and fresh smelling. The rooms were well kept as well, although we never got a roll away. I would still return here again and again.
The staff needs better customer service, the pool closed early Saturday night, this morning we are told it isnt opening, breakfast that is advertised as free, is $5 per person and grab and go... This hotel doesnt live up to the Hilton name at all...I spoke to the general manager, she kept saying she wasnt going to argue and it is the way it is, when all I wanted was the website to reflect their amenities...
Rooms are comfortable and staff is very friendly and helpful. Had some issues with the room key, but Morgan at the front desk handled it right away. The location is great, from the movie theater next door to the multiple options of restaurants in the vicinity, very happy with this hotel.
I cant believe the Hilton used the coronavirus as an excuse to make all normal services and features unavailable. Everything you have access to at a hotel normally was closed, fitness center, business center, Continental breakfast. The only thing open was the pool. So I can go swim in a coronavirus soup with 15 other people. But I cant workout by myself, Or use a computer. And to top it off you tell me I can get a grab and go brown paper bag breakfast which has been sitting there for days from what the lady at the front desk said at $100 a night. I can understand things are different due to coronavirus. But DO NOT charge me full price but then offer 0 amenities.
So far, the maids havent come into our room to clean up or give us fresh towels. So we went to the front desk to get clean ones and they didnt even have enough towels for our family of 4 to have clean towels. The front desk workers have not been accommodating at all with this situation
Enjoy the stay but for it to be a Hilton nothing was upgraded they had very small 32-in screen TVs the bathrooms were small and they did not have USB connection on the lamp like most of them do it was on the clock we had ants in our sink, And our toilet kept stopping up
Stayed there during a tour in Texas.i was greeted by a totally professional customer service /front desk manager by the name of Morgan. she took care of my needs, locating a place, sending fax, whatever it was, it was prompt.the room was great, clean and very pleasant. the location fit my requirements. so all good - 10 out of 10.
Dusty Tracy was extremely rude to my wife and me. The hotel room smelled and she said take it up with Hilton . She kept saying over and over how professional she was, but, refused to listen to our complaints. The second night house keeping did not clean our room. Again Dusty was rude and condescending. My wife who happens to be a double amputee and I a cancer patient had to get the linens and make our own bed which had gotten wet because of my wife using an ice pack treatment. I suggested to Hilton corporate that she be fired. We are not the first complaint in this vein. Dusty Tracy is in competent.
The staff is friendly. This property is showing its age and rooms could definitely use a refresh. The bathroom had a musty/mildew smell, shower head was clogged and spraying all directions, tub drain plug was not attached properly, and shower tile was in overall poor shape (looked to be removed and replaced at some point). I love HGI’s, but this property needs a remodel. One other note is that I specifically asked upon checkin for a room that has no adjoining door (connecting interior door to another room). The clerk looked at a site map and assigned a room. When I arrived in the room it had an adjoining door. I didn’t feel like moving, so stayed in the assigned room. Just a minor annoyance.
Set back off the expressway so the traffic noice is at a minimum. This location does not have the adjustable beds which is a major plus. Rooms were clean, there normal restaurant and bar in the lobby. Decent location off of 37 with easy on and off. Couple restaurants in there parking lot which makes it easy for families.
It was a step BELOW a motel 6! Very DISAPPOINTING FOR A HILTON! 30 minutes more for a late checkout, pool CLOSED until 4pm Friday, not friendly or very helpful front desk, bed was HORRIBLE. I have issues with my back & asked for something/padding for under fitted sheet & that made it less painful. Overall, will NEVER STAY AT A HILTON GARDEN INN AGAIN! And it was our 32nd wedding anniversary, CAN NOT GET THAT BACK!
Pleased but I avoid this hotel and leave it for when others are booked. I stay at Hilton properties in a weekly basis and have used this one over ten times. Employees and cleaniness is excellent. Now why I avoid it... shower heads are an extreme version the water saver type making taking a shower dreadful. The water stream for the sinks are unreachable for a smaller person due to the faucets being little stubs and the gap is about 2 feet. The toilets are all for taller individuals. Keurig machines are not clean enough in the inside... (bring your own keurig cups theirs are ok but not good ) These are the things I personally look to have, other than those it offers the comfort a bigger hotel having a clean pool, restaurant and bar.
This place saved our trip!!! Originally, we were staying at Holiday Inn Marina. After changing rooms 3 times, we demanded a refund. So, at 3:00 AM, we found ourselves trying to find a place to stay. Every place we tried had no vacancies. Then, thankfully, we happened upon the Hilton Garden Inn. They had a room and the Sal & Joseph went above and beyond. Since it was already 3:00 AM, they didnt charge us for that night (other places were going to). Also, they gave us coupons for the buffet!Everyone was very courteous and helpful. We will be staying here from now on!
We took our family on a small vacation and to tell the truth it would of been a great time but we never got our room refreshed for any reason, no clean towels, no trash taken out, nothing was done at all and for us to pay so much per night I definitely will not be returning. The manager even had the audacity to note BN in the Hilton system that he/she called us to apologize... Yeah right that never happened!! A complete lie!!
CONS: Avoid this place. Our week visit sucked. The bed was bad, there were so many patch up fixes in the bathroom. There was also a spider in the bathroom and the toilet was clogged when we got in the room. The smoke detector is on the wall with wires hanging out of it. There is no heat option on the air unit. Its 37° outside and its freezing inside too. PROS: Staff and the lobby is nice. There is a Kuerig market in the room. We will not be staying at any other Hiltons again. Just stay at the Hyatt Place in front of this hotel.
Service is good, staff is great but the past time I stayed at this location there were multiple dogs in the room next to mine running around and barking. I asked the front desk if they allowed animals and was told yes at this location. Very disappointing for someone who has allergies and likes to get a good nights sleep.
Ive stayed here several times and its a solid hotel for business travel. The front desk staff are super friendly and helpful. The restaurant on-site is adequate for dinner. Service at breakfast is slow and confusing. The rooms are comfy and the hotel is near other restaurants and has easy access to SPID.
To say this Hilton is average would be a generous statement. The name Hilton use to indicate higher end/luxurious bed & breakfast accommodations but apparently this does not hold any truth at this particular hotel. After spending almost $270 to sleep on a substandard mattress youre then expected to pay additional fees for a very limited breakfast. Boo Hilton, boo
Hotel was clean, customer service is not the greatest. Today I called regarding my stay on July since my receipts were not emailed to me and wanted to follow up. I called at 5pm today 8/10/17 and the lady who answered said she was going to email me my receipts. My receipts have not been emailed and is 7 pm already. I have been waiting for them, I called to follow up to see if maybe she emailed the wrong email, she told me she has not since she is too busy to dedicate her time to me. She was completely rude, i asked to her to communicate me to her manager but she informed me her manager is not there, which i believe that to be a lie. I need my receipts as soon as possible for my expenses to be paid. the employees name is Morgan, I believe you need to hire people who are customer oriented and are able to handle a day without being rude to your customer,i have left a voicemail for the manager.
Smelly hotel rooms! The first hotel room they gave me smelled like mold. The next one they switched me out with had a heavy smoker stench. I am now in the third hotel room and there is also a heavy smell of smoke. Not a picky person, or one to post reviews, but I thought Id get on to pass on my experience.
So disappointed! Got here and the air-conditioner was out in the fitness room the treadmill wasn’t working and I was told they would give me a reduced rate and they did not honor that. Also we had three people in our room and they gave us one towel and we had to wait and we’re late to where we were going because we only had one towel and had to wait till they got us more towels.

2022-02-23Our stay was excellent because of the exceptional customer service the front desk young lady Monica displayed. She is friendly, sweet and extremely professional. She went beyond what is required to assure that our stay would be memorable. After driving most of the day, we were exhausted. We had no reservations. She informed us of what was available. We agreed and was registered fairly quickly and up in our room in no time. She informed us of our rewards and all of the services that were available. Kiddos to you Monica !Thank you for your hospitality and friendliness!

2022-06-15Great location and staff. Room are a good size. Beds are very comfortable. We were on the first floor and I could hear kids running on the floor above us. The walls are a bit thin, I could hear surround sound snoring from the rooms on either side of us.Hotel has great staff, a bar with happy hour specials and a restaurant. Great location near movie theater and several restaurants.

2022-04-212 star style comfort in a 5 star hotel. The mattresses were more like box springs, and Im really not that picky. But they were so bad. The shower head was a whole struggle to deal with. The staff is nice and the rooms are clean though. But when I stay at a $100 hotel I would love a some what comfortable bed and a nice shower. I wont be returning to this location.

2022-04-17We have stayed here before & had no issues. We choose to stay here again for that reason and being a Hilton member. However, this stay was far from good.1st red flag was not being able to change the date so we ended coming down, only Hilton that has not let me change reservation to another date. Once arrived, we requested a roll away and was told they dont have any? Then why does the app/online description say that you do.Asked for extra linen & they said you can come and get it and was given 1 blanket.Asked for a late check out as it once again said they do that online/app and was told they dont do that here?! Ive never stayed at a Hilton that didnt have that option.Went to go for a swim, and the pool was closed. I asked when it would be open and they said it was not going to be open for that day.Nothing we wanted to do or use or the reason why we used our Hilton membership worked or they had!!!!Had I known, we would have just stayed somewhere else more convenient.I didnt even mention the room and the noise. The walls are paper thin and housekeeping was SUPER loud all morning. To top it off our phone cord was nicely decorated with grape jelly.....disappointed in this Hilton of all the stays and years smh

2022-05-31Fantastic trip and stay. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and polite. They even helped us with an issue when our family event was delayed. This is our second time here with the same exceptional level of service. We are definitely returning!

2022-03-11Positive: Sound proofing...very quiet in the room and located off the highway far enough so you couldnt hear traffic. Close to many restaurants. Beds were very comfortable. Negative: The BAR and Restaurant in the lobby. Bartender told us about special pricing for her birthday and then switched from a $5 drink to a $15 drink when she gave me the check. At breakfast the next morning, the food was flavor-less and cold.

2022-01-25I always love staying at the Hilton. This one was designed really nice, very clean, the staff was better than exceptional and always helpful and friendly. Even the maids made it a point to say hello or goodbye from the rooms they were cleaning. Great job, great hotel.

2022-02-26If you can absolutely avoid this place, do so. The staff in the afternoon was so completely useless, they did more to not help you then want to help.I wad having an issue getting onto the internet, I asked the front desk for help. She looked at the screen and announced she couldnt do anything about it. I asked if maybe the manager could help, I heard the manager say, tell him something like its a system update. Nothing. No free coffee 8n the lobby, they want to charge $2.00 a cup. Hilton, youve become a shell of a company. You should be ashamed.

2022-02-11Fairly clean, however the hair dryer was missing, faucet installed incorrectly, and the place is generally run down. With that being said it is located right on the beach and the in-house restaurant “On The Border” had pretty good Tacos Al Carbon. I’m sure it’s popular with the spring break crowd.

2022-03-14Great location if you want to visit the shopping and other amenities. Not far from the beach either. The hotel looks like it has been well maintained and has almost everything. No hot tub.
