The hotel was clean and staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were quiet and we never heard our neighbors. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.A family member (with disability) found the toilet seat in their room was loose but the staff quickly remedied the loose seat and discounted the room, well above expectations. The only things I would like to see improved are:1) The pool was filthy and absolutely full of bugs. It needs to be cleaned more often and (at a minimum) have a net nearby so guests can clear out some of the insects between cleaning.2) The beds were stiff. This may be a preference for some other guests, but for me, it meant a sore back in the morning.3) Breakfast was not what I expected. I thought it would be more of a buffet situation. Instead they had a menu for each day of specific hot items (ex. Cheese Omelets on Thurs., Scrambled Eggs
Great hotel in Bay City. No complaints. Very clean, newer rooms, very nice mattress and multiple pillow choices that state firm or soft. A/C worked good and was quiet and didnt shut on and off. Service was great when you needed it. The breakfast is no longer self serve for health reasons, and someone is always there to serve you. Breakfast is adequate, a few choices are given. Would have liked the option for a waffle though. Overall great place.
I came in a day early for my dads memorial and they were able to get me my room. They were super nice and i enjoyed my stay so much I wanted to take the hotel with me feom the bed to the shower. When I left that morning I had a sympathy card from them. It was the sweetest thing ever. Ifi ever have to come back I will definitely stay here again and will stay at any of the Holiday Inn Expresses from now on when I travel.
I would give this place a -10! Staff is rude. Been here for 2 weeks and theyve only clean 1 time!! We have been doing it ourself! We have to vacuum ,make our beds and get towels . They dont leave extra trash liners so the trash can smells. The rooms need to be updated. It has the feel of a cheap crackhead motel! The breakfast is burnt EVERY morning! And no waffles!
The woman who checked us in, Linda, was amazing!! She is the best employee I’ve ever come in contact with. She was the sweetest most accommodating woman I’ve ever met. We checked in at 3am and she was amazing and made us feel so welcome. She went above and beyond her duties and I will always remember her. THANK YOU Limda!!! You are AMAZING!!!
This hotel is always clean and quiet. Front desk always provides anything needed, quickly and is friendly. We stay here frequently because it is so clean, and quiet. The pool is also very clean and well tended.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious clean and inviting. The bed was a little hard for my liking but overall I would highly recommend this hotel when staying in Bay City Tx.
Positive: NOTHING Negative: Reserved a room, paid for it, received a confirmation number for it, yet when I got to the hotel, they said I didn¿t have a reservation. Found out later the next day, they overbooked and gave my room away then cancelled my reservation. Terrible!
Positive: Staff were very attentive and tried to meet our needs ASAP. Negative: Breakfast choices limited towards end of the breakfast hours. Once they ran out of an item they wouldn¿t refill it. Everything was done in a efficient manner and that that we checked in last minute friendly faces as we walked in the door and as we walked out the doors.
This place is horrible. I made a reservation ($400) and a storm came through and knocked out the power. When I showed up to check in they told me they had evacuated all guest and no one was allowed on the property. Then they refused to refund my money. Stay away from this hotel!!
Been coming here weekly to be with the hubby while he works. Awesome place to stay! I have met almost all the staff and they are super friendly and helpful. The main reason we choose here instead of anywhere else is the BREAKFAST! Beds super comfy! Great stay!
From the moment we arrived till the check out time the staff and management made our stay very comfortable and pleasant. We were on the road and we called the front desk manager for an early check in and she was very pleasant and will to accommodate our needs. Everyone in our part was very happy with checking in early and the they let us check out a little bit later on our check out date.
Beds not comfy, doors slam hard waking you at all hours. staff was very friendly and attempted to be helpful but didnt know the answer or could not help. staff did not enforce the face mask rule posted on the door at hotel. heat / ac unit was super dusty dirty. ceiling and walls had water damage, stains and drywall peeling and cracking. floor was uneven. i will be staying elsware next time im there for work. im an ihg spire elite member and expected better than this.
I was pleased with the room upgrade. The beds and sofa bed were comfortable. My granddaughter and my sister’s granddaughter enjoyed having the sofa bed for themselves! It was a special treat for them. The desk staff was especially friendly to the girls and made a point to wish my granddaughter a happy birthday!
Appreciated the call to check and make sure reservation was correct.A few minor things when I got to my room were corrected very quickly and professionally. Not a fan of the “green” policy. Miss the personal bottles of shampoo, conditioner and skin moisturizer. Also miss the daily attention of the room, fresh towels and a made bed.
Generally this Hotel is top notch, hopefully this was just an anomaly. Checked in late got to room and TV remote did not work, towel situation seemed lite and minimal furthermore, no bathroom amenities like the normal face, skin, body wash and shampoo only what was in the bulk containers in shower. I know had I called down to the front desk this would have been handled however it was late and did not want to hassle with it.
We came in to Bay City for Thanksgiving to visit family. The hotel was super clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel is warm and inviting, felt fine sending my kids down to explore and get snacks from the front. The rooms were immaculate and the beds were great. Best sleep Ive had in a while. This is my new go to hotel.
From the moment of walking into the hotel it felt so fresh and new. I loved the interior and the warm welcome I received from the front desk personnel. My room was very spacious and my bed was so comfortable I did not want to leave. Breakfast was great, very clean and organized.
The front desk clerk Ariel was very accommodating and hospitable. The hotel has plenty of nearby stores for any last minute needs. There were also a good variety of restaurants in the area. Very clean hotel inside and out. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very well maintained.
Asked to have my room cleaned needed clean sheets bed linens etc. When we were walking out the manager himself came out and said yes we will have your room cleaned. We get back to our room and it had not been cleaned trash wasnt taken out we had no clean towels or bed linens. We had to go to front desk and get them ourselves. When I brought it up to the front desk attendant attention she said we would be refunded a nights stay per the manager. We were not refunded anything and the manager acted as if it was no big deal. I spent good money and expected great service. My stomach turned when they said they clean their rooms every 5 days. Really is your hotel that nasty.
Hotel was above average in general just lacked fresh or plentiful breakfast options compared to most Holiday Inns. But staff was friendly and rooms/facilities were clean.
Bathroom floor was visibly dirty upon arrival. Changed rooms but the second bathroom was not clean either - countertops needed to be cleaned. Staff was friendly and accommodating but hotel was not clean.
Ive rated everything 5 star. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and the beds and linen provided a very comfy rest. Pandemic safeguards were practiced making us feel safe. I rated the food 3 but it was restricted to packaged items due to above mentioned protocals. The sausage biscuits were delicious.
We loved our stay at Holiday inn. Everyone was super nice and very helpful. They helped us so much by allowing us to stay with our Boston Terrier, because we had to evacuate due to Hurricane Ida.
Had a most excellent stay as worked nites. The room very clean, bed extremely comfortable, Cant say enough aby the staff as most courteous, accommodating and professional. They made my stay MOST comfortable. By the way, the reason that the breakfast review was low was do to the limitations of variety
We stayed one night, came up to go fishing un Matagorta with my little one. Was able to get adjoining rooms for us and my parents. Clean, good hot breakfast options. Good hotel, good value.
Relaxing atmosphere and comfortable beds and pillows. Slept like a rock! Would definitely stay again. Breakfast was a bit lacking but everything else was spot on perfect!
Definitely stay here.This hotel provides a wonderful overall experience. For me a hotel must be quiet, comfortable and reasonably priced, and they provide them all.I called ahead and requested a room away from the elevator, ice machine and other people if possible. The friendly staff honored my needs, and I had a wonderful nights sleep every night of my stay.My room was very clean. Were talking under the toliet bowl rim clean. The corners were free of gunk, no dust to be seen, and the bed sheets were snowy white. The king sized bed was also very comfortable. When I entered the room it had a light scent of disinfectant and popouree, which was quite pleasant.The heater/AC unit ran quietly. I really appreciated that the shower head, in the walk-in shower, was set at well over six foot so that I could take a shower without having to constantly duck under it.Really wish that they had hot water, though. The water temperature was warm yet never got hot enough for me. The real disappointment was the towels. Not absorbent at all. It took two towels and a lot of frictional force to get dry.In this age of covid-19 I was surprised that they were serving breakfast at all. However they may want to reconsider as the eggs were bland, dry and cold. The bacon was overdone and cold as well.The pool looks inviting and the workout room is well appointed as well.Overall, this is a wonderful place to sleep and I highly recommend it.
Overall clean hotel and big room for family of 5 to spread out. 3 stations at breakfast were closed/out of order or not filled. They didn’t have towels at the pool either day we were there. All pool chairs were rotten and could not be sat upon.
The front desk clerk, Ariel was amazing. She went above and beyond my expectations. After arriving late. Ariel, called my room to check to see how my room was. I had some minor issues with some room cleanliness. Ariel apologized and offered me additional points for the inconvenience. She was very pleasant and professional. Its because of Ariel, that i will be back on my next business trip. Thank you Ariel, you ROCK!!!
Stayed here for a week and it was very clean, rooms were comfortable and staff was helpful in cleaning room and supplying new towels when needed. Would definitely recommend this hotel to someone.
Overall the stay was good. The hotel was very clean, rooms were spacious, TV was big, internet available, and the late night snacks for purchase at the front desk were a plus. The only issues we had was that the lobby smelled like smoke upon entering even thought it was a no smoking hotel and the continental breakfast was not very good. However, for a place to sleep and rest, it was quiet and comfortable.
This hotel did not have the room that we reserved when we arrived. It was reserved, confirmed and we even did the online check in. They said we could pay for two rooms at double the price instead of the suite we reserved to accommodate the five people staying. Staff wouldn’t call management, wouldn’t give us the two rooms for the same price as what we reserved. To top it off it was a holiday weekend and other hotels in the area were booked. Horrible customer service!!!
Positive: It was new and clean. Negative: They say they offer a hot breakfast but ran out of most hot items 30 minutes before breakfast was over. They used a server and you had to wait in line. She wasn¿t friendly. I imagine after covid this will improve.
I travel 6-7 hours at least twice a week working in protective services during our current COVID-19 pandemic, so needless to say, I was exhausted upon arrival. Seeing my state, staff was not only polite and inviting, but also helped accommodate me during my stay offering to put me in a quieter room and extend my check out time. The room, as always, was clean and precautionary note had been posted for the pandemic. Breakfast was a bit more thinner due to rules and regulations during this time, but still had a pleasing variety of fresh food. Great hotel, great staff, great stay.
Once again this hotel does not disappoint, the staff were very helpful with extra room items, and when we wanted to stay an extra night, the General Manager, Mr. Bustamante was very nice and let us stay in the same room, and extended our stay for a very reasonable rate. The pool is always clean and nice, and we thoroughly enjoyed one evening hanging out in the water, and relaxing after a long day The only thing i would suggest is someone check out the refrigerator in Room 216, it does not seem to be cooling as it should. Luckily we always have an ice chest with us, so our perishables were kept in it.Thank you again for a wonderful stay
We enjoyed our 1-night stay at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Hotel was clean and they followed all CDC protocol during the pandemic. We’ll be back for sure.
My family stayed here for two nights while visiting. The service exceeded my expectations. I was impressed by the hot breakfast served Saturday and Sunday morning. Saturday night, my daughter got sick and they accommodated us with new bedding and towels in a timely manor to help get everything cleaned up and didnt make us feel inconvenient at all, being that it was quite late. If I had to criticize anything, my only suggestion would be providing some kind of shade in the pool area. Overall our experience was wonderful and we will be staying again.
Positive: the room was spacious and the breakfast was amazing. Negative: the elevator was broken and we had to use the stairs between lobby and 4th floor several times.
We stayed one night to attend a funeral. The staff was very friendly. They helped with all our requests. The place is really clean and modern. We had one problem and it was taken care of immediately. One of the light bulbs in the lamps broke when we turned the light on. The staff was up there to clean the glass and replace the lamp within 5 minutes. Will stay here again
I would definately return to the hotel. It had everything that I needed: gym, computer access, morning coffee, refridgerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The staff was very nice and always helpful. It was in close proximity to stores, restaurants and only 35 minutes from the beach. The air conditioning worked great and the beds were comfortable.
Hotel lobby, rooms, and parking area was very clean. Parking lot well lit up at night. Comfortable bed and a good nights sleep!

We stayed here for a couple nights while out on a photoshoot. We were in and out all throughout the day and night and when we needed to sleep we had no problem! It was so comfortable and clean and a all around good experience. Be ready for the breakfast to be a little on the light side as the whole corona thing has the self serve breakfast shutdown. But they will serve you what ever you want that they have. Oh yeah and pool area is completely closed even just to sit outside and relax.
The Hotel was more than I expected. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean, beds comfortable..My room was quiet. No blankets in closet, but one was quickly brought up by the staff. Coffee maker and refrigerators in room. Breakfast after a quick look was the same free fare. I had coffee and toast. Overall I would stay there again..
Reserved a suite for one night stay room was extremely dirty. Staff was not wearing mask and neither were guest. Pulled the sleeper sofa out for my son to sleep on. Nothing but dirt underneath the sofa including food dust roaches. Only wished I had taken pictures so I could post. Im a long time customer of Holiday Inn this was the worst property I have ever stayed in. I will choose someone other Holiday Inn on my next trip.
I was very disappointed with the Holiday Inn Express Bay City because the bed was so hard and the bathroom was not cleaned adequately. There was a hair on a used soap in the shower. That was disgusting. The breakfast was limited. I expected to have a little more variety. The staff was extremely friendly though. I truly was impressed with the night worker at front desk. I wanted my husband to have a nice night away for his birthday and have a comfortable bed to sleep in after a hard work day and we did not have that so we will not be staying at this hotel again. I will continue to stay at Holiday Inn expresses. I have had wonderful experiences in the past.
New hotel, clean and modern. Staff was friendly and welcoming at check-in. Room was clean and comfortable. Cable, internet, and air conditioning worked great. Fridge and microwave in room is always a plus. Good selection of drinks and snacks in their little marketplace. The complimentary breakfast and coffee provided for a great start the next morning. This hotel was a great value and I would not think twice about staying here again.

Everything about this hotel was great. The room was spacious, the bed was clean and comfortable. The lighting was fine. Bathroom was super clean. Towels were clean and nice. The ONLY thing I didnt like, was that the room was TOO HUMID. I also dont think it was adjustable with the thermostat (pretty sure it wasnt though). The room was so humid that condensation from my water didnt even evaporate overnight.. Other than the humidity of the room, everything else was perfect! 9/10!! and I would definitely recommend Holiday Inn Bay City!

The staff was just so friendly and so calm. The evening crew goes above and beyond to satisfy their customers needs. Rooms were super clean and I was impressed from breakfast its not your usual scrambled eggs they had two different kinds of omelettes. Plus the others usual breakfast items.
Other than the mix up with my room type not being available even with a reservation several days in advance, my stay at the hotel was very pleasurable. The room was spacious and clean. The exterior if the hotel was well kept up, and the front desk staff did an amazing job with service recovery. The open lobby and modern setting and colors were very welcoming. This particular location was very quiet. We were here for a seminar in the area, so the location and the setting were convenient for us. Stores, restaurants all close by. Our husbands really enjoyed hanging out in the lobby with the location and set-up with the choice of seating and TV view. I really enjoyed the comfort of the room, and the staff. It is always nice to know each location is different, has its own personality but will be clean and comfortable.
Cleanliness was the first thing noticed when walking in the lobby and proceeded to the room. This is a big priority of mine since I have allergies. The soaps provided were very nice. It doesnt sound like a big deal but it made the stay all the more nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable! Overall I really liked that everything was done properly and no detail was left unaccounted for when considering customer satisfaction!
Well everything like I said was excellent at this hotel. The staff was very curtious,respectful and polite,also very manerable and proffesional. Everything was ver neat and organized to my likin. The tenants was very cordial as well as the staff. The parkin was very suitable. As for the amenities didnt get to use them but I checked thm out and they was very nice and clean. The rooms was like a condo to me,very spacious,clean and neat. The bed gave me the best sleep I had in months and oh my GOD the breakfast was to die for,very nutrional. This hotel would b the ideal place to live overall. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and associates to stay at in d future.
We reserved a suite with a sleeper sofa. Furniture in the room was really worn down a filthy. Pulled the sleeper sofa out there was food and dirt all over it. No way this couch has ever been cleaned. Underneath the couch had dead roaches. Stay away from this hotel they lost a long term customer. Spoke to the manager on duty and she did nothing about it.
This is a nice hotel. It is very clean in the rooms, but the hallways need more attention from housekeeping. The beds could be softer, but the sheets are crisp-not worn out like in some hotels, and the pillows are soft. I would have enjoyed an extra comforter. There was an extra in the room, but it was being used by my companion.The staff is courteous, and as usual, the cinnamon rolls are wonderful.
Overall my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bay City HIE. Perla, the lady at the front desk, was very courteous, and went out of her way to be accommodating for our stay. The room was a bit smaller than the previous one we had stayed in, but made up for it in price. We had no issues with anything in the room not functioning properly, which is a first for us and hotels. Maria, the lady who prepared breakfast, was on top of everything. She kept the breakfast bar stocked, and was very sweet to our son when he ran up to her to say hi. We really had next to no complaints, other than the fact that the WiFi does not seem to work on the first floor. 9/10 Would definitely stay here again (though maybe on the 3rd or 4th floor to get WiFi access).
I had to stay at this location at the spur of the moment. I chose the right property, and there were others to choose from nearby. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and bi-lingual. No problems there. Business center was easy to access. My room was so comfy, as was the bed. I was so tired from driving all week. The breakfast needs a little more work. Grits, and a better choice of pork product would be my suggestion.
Hotel stay. This visit was kind of unexpected. We did not have reservations. The young lady was very helpful at the front desk. The room was very clean and comfortable. The pool was great after a long drive. The evening young lady brought us extra towels to the room since they were out at the time we were going to the pool. Enjoyed the morning breakfast .All the employees were very nice.
We really enjoyed this property. It was very clean and in a great location in Bay City, Texas. It was only a few miles from my brothers beach property where we attended a small family reunion.
This being one of the newer hotels in the area; had a few growing pains. The staff was still learning the ropes and it showed a little. But overall the staff went out of the way to make sure the stay was enjoyable. The rooms were quiet and the breakfast was plentiful and well made. The common areas were always clean, like spotless. A really nice hotel with friendly staff.
The location was great for me. I think the price that I paid was with it for the room that I stayed in, I wouldn’t pay anymore for it. The hotel was very nice in the lobby, the bathroom appeared to have been updated. However, the rooms could use a makeover and the carpet needs to be replaced as well as in the hallway. There was a lot of noise as kids were running up and down the hallway all night and the guests across from me went in and out of their rooms all night long.
An excellent, simple hotel for staying in Bay City. Staff very friendly at check-in and for additional questions. Simple and clean breakfast area. I was satisfied with the breakfast choices; nothing fancy, but good variety. Rooms clean and comfortable with no unpleasant surprises. Pool and common areas were small, but I was not planning on spending much time at the hotel anyway. The common areas were clean and pleasant looking. Nearby convenience store in easy walking distance Department store close just in case. I would definitely come back.
I was really impressed with this IHG property that was in this modest small town in TX. Everything felt very new and pristine and I really like the contemporary decor of the lobby and guest room. Everything about this place felt good enough to be in a high tourist traffic area. The grounds are well maintained and inspires confidence in the safety and security of your surroundings. I enjoyed my stay here and had a great nights sleep.

Overall very good stay; convenient to town and stores. Previously stayed in nearby hotel, but they didn’t meet our expectations. Our 2nd time staying this location, last was in a (2) queen bedroom, this time tried the suite with (2) queen beds: very spacious, but needed more chairs and lamps, and a TV in sofa area with a moveable partition to separate the spaces. Bathroom layout good with a tub-shower and very good water valve controller.
Want to take a mid morning nap? No problem, the house keepers will gladly clean your room early. The air conditioner was nice and cold. We definitely enjoyed the lounge chair in iur room. The wifi connection was great and the television had lots of channels to choose from. My husband was happy about all the sport channels. We will definitely be coming back soon.
I have stayed over 50 times since January. Ive seen a mix of many workers, execs, and recreational visitors all present at same time. The management and staff all seem to be prepared, interested, and hardworking. The hotel clean and maintained. Booking is full much of the time, the truck stop next door is convenient, close to edge of town, for large equipment also. I never brought trailer to hotel, able to park day cab in car spot fine.Checkin was always fast and convenient even before I was a regular. People seem very nice. Although I dont consider myself high maintenance, believe this staff is prepared. The exercise room, laundry, pool(only in once) seemed to be well maintained. I will always stay here when in area. They always acknowledge ihg status too.

He was polite, cheerful and courteous. it was nice to see a young man enjoying help people with a smile each time we saw him. Had a family event and decided to wait until I arrived in town and then find a hotel. Stopped here and the staff was incredibly friendly. Rate was good so I booked the night. Room was really clean and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was great. I signed up for the Rewards program...which I usually never do.
The manager is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.We have been staying here since February 2020 due to having our home renovated and just because of the manager we would stay here again.Excellent maid service.Excellent and very helpful desk clerks and maintenance man.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming when we checked in and out. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were very nice and clean as well. Plenty of towels and wash cloths and there was even a hairdryer. We will definitely stay here every time we visit this area!
Short overnight stay to see a local band play in town. Hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I left pretty early so I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast. Maybe next time.

Needed a place at the last minute and was very pleased! Staff was able to get our group adjacent rooms, have us a great restaurant recommendation, and rooms were clean and spacious.
The hotel was clean! This is a huge concern of mine. The rooms have nice aminaties. The only thing lacking in my opinion is the breakfast. But I must say Ive always thought the contenital breakfast just didnt do the trick. Its filled with the cheapest of everything. I did forget my razor and shaving cream and they had in for no charge. The young lady that worked the front desk was very knowledgeable about the area, very helpful. Ill be back, Im sure.
From the minute our group walked in the door to register and check in to our rooms we were greeted and treated like royalty! Perla was the most friendly and considerate attendant I have ever experienced. I have stayed in many places all over the world and I have NEVER been treated this well EVER! She explained the business area, map of the property, amenities, and breakfast times to every person in our group. We had 4 separate rooms and each were immaculate and very luxurious. Perla went above making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
Overall was a good visit. Front desk ladies were nice and helpful. Only difference between this Holiday Inn and others that Ive been too is that there was no happy hour that the hotel offered and the wifi and cellular service was not very good for the lower floors. Also would be nice if ther was a laundry mat on every floor(just a suggestion).
We had a great stay. I dont have any complaints. The only things that would make it better would be to keep pool open to ger then 10 PM so that as a adult I could use the pool without little ones running around. I have NOTHING against children just to let everyone know lol. Also add actual fruit to breakfast not just a apple or orange. Please. Its like hotels are like well we have yogurt what else you want lol.
The room Was nice. But, having to leave my home due to hurricane Laura. And trying to relax, the breakfast was horrible just 2 small dried up sausage. And a nasty piece of freezer burnt egg. Noting else offered. Then being told by cleaning staff knocking on my door at9:40a it was time to check out.
It was a peaceful stay here. The breakfast served good quality food. The rooms were up to date. Plenty of parking. They just didnt have decaf coffee.
Ive stayed here a few times and its always so clean and fresh! The lady with white hair that works night shift, is amazing! Employees are so friendly and if you need anything they got you!!
Out of all the Holiday Inn I have ever stayed this was the worst. First of all.. we could get the TV to work right . It would come on but you couldnt change the channels. So we had to call the front desk. And the girl was really sweet and she came up to help us .. she had to fix the remote and tv.. she got it working for us. And she showed us how to work it .. but it is ridiculous how you have to stand to the side of the dresser aim the remote behind the TV to in order to change the channel.. we was in the room most of the days we were there but when we were it sucked have to change the channels like that.Second. The bed were so uncomfortable.. I couldnt sleep at all..Third the our room was so hot ..the AC wasnt cooling the room off at all .. it was horrible.. we were miserable
It was good the staff was friendly and kind. That makes it a lot easier to stay when the staff is friendly. Overall clean hotel no real issues to speak about.
The room was fresh smelling and very clean. Bathroom was very clean, with plenty of towels, shampoo and soap, brand new television with excellent picture. The bed was comfortable and pillows were the right fullness to support my head, but not hard. Just right.The breakfast area was very clean. The food choices were numerous. I require protein in the morning. There were eggs, sausage and sausage gravy, yogurt.
Horrible, horrible front desk service. As my son and I were leaving, I dropped the key card off and we started on the way out of the door. The attendant start yelling, and I do mean yelling loudly. She was yelling, wait, wait, your card is declined, your card is declined. Of course we go back and I tell her that I booked with Snaptravel and received the receipt. She continued to say very loudly that my card was declined. At this point my kid got out of there because he was so embarrassed. There were about 6 or so Conco employees eating breakfast listening to all this. I told her again that I had the receipt. I told her to give me the credit card number. She did and I immediately knew it was not mine. Turns out it was Snaptravels card that was being declined. She still insisted that I pay and I told her that Holiday Inn contracted with Snaptravel and that was between them because I already paid. My kid said lets never there again. I guarantee we wont!
We travel to Bay City several times a year, when we go on fishing trips out of Matagorda. This in the first time we have stayed at the Holiday In Express in Bay City and we will definitely be back. We stayed for 3 nights. The room was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of pillows. Nice TV with HBO. The AC was quiet and able to keep the room cool during a hot July day. The hotel felt secure and safe.. We liked it very much. I gave the reviews a score of 5 out of 5 for everything except sleep quality- which with at my age and all my aches and pains, I no longer get a 5 out of 5 anyplace.
Hotel was clean. Staff was courteous and friendly. Breakfast could have had a few more choices but overall not bad. Convenient to restaurants. Nice and quiet.
My wife and I spent one night at the facility while attending a family members birthday party. Facility was clean and convenient. Pillows were too soft for my preference. Desk and breakfast staff were very polite and friendly..
I stayed here while traveling for business. The staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and quite. The only negative if you want to call it that is the room I was in seemed a little bare. Walls were a little bare a light in a corner seemed to be missing a chair, etc. I assume they are still decorating the rooms. I will defiantly stay on my next trip and would recommend this hotel.
This is a nice hotel and the staff was great to me during my 6 week business stay. You can tell the hotel was slapped together in a hurry just looking at the craftsmanship. The rooms with king beds have a refrigerator thats is entirely too small for anyone staying for a length of time. Bathroom has mold on the ceiling already (new construction as of 09/2015). The Internet is subpar at best. High speed is not a word that should be in the description of this Internet service. and the WiFi password gets reset every Sunday so look forward to having to check on that over and over. Would not recommend for someone travelling on business for a length of time. However i Would recommend as a hotel for a few nights on a trip.
The pool was filthy and disgusting. The pump was never running the whole time I was there. My son is now complaining about his eyes hurting him and itching.There was no cellphone service on the first floor and the WiFi service was very slow quality.
Upon arrival at the hotel everything seemed great. We checked in and proceeded to our room. Upon entering I noticed an Ozone generator in the room. There was a faint odor but not much. The next morning you could really smell something wasnt wrong. The room really had a bad odor. We went ahead and checked out. Upon checking out I noticed they had charged my debit card twice. I talked to lady at the desk about it and she informed me they would have the charges reversed. I contacted my bank and they told me it will take 7 days for them to release payment. I am not very happy about the stay or the billing.
The employees were helpful and friendly. Rooms very clean and comfortable. My husband and I are both elderly and the walk in shower makes it easy to shower. Internet service wasnt great but it probably wasnt the hotel at fault.
Best place to stay in Baycity. Our family always enjoys our stay. Staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfy.
Overall a good property, well appointed.Arrived late, desk clerk was tied up with another guest elsewhere, but there was no indication of when the clerk would return or how to reach them.The room was good, breakfast did not really seem to vary, other than cinnamon rolls were always gone.
Nice rooms. Had cockroach carcass parts on my toilet lid when I checked in. Wouldve complained if I paid(company trip). My coworkers room smelled like a maid left a mean dump in his room, so I feel like I got the better deal. Overall not as bad as some places Ive stayed so far.....
The room was spacious clean and updated. The bedding was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and updated with all the essentials. The tv had the channels I wanted even the sports channels. The room was quiet and my stay was very relaxing.
The staff was rather surly and not very helpful. However the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the TV worked and the internet (although sketchy and not reliable) was working enough to suit me. Wed stay here again if we needed to. It was worth the money we spent. I would suggest the staff get some training on customer service, greeting and friendliness, learning basic answers as to how to access the internet, local restaurants and basic directions around town. ummm I dunno to everything is not appropriate answers for front desk staff.

I entered the lobby to a beautiful collection of artwork and furnishings. geometric design was striking. Very attractive though out the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My room was clean and comfortable and roomy. The experience was very nice. I will recommend this hotel for sure.
I loved the bed, it was so comfortable and the pillows were nice and comfortable. I asked the girl that checked me out, to find out what type of mattress that was, so I can buy one. She said she would find out for me. The girls at the desk are so friendly and nice, they always give me such good service, they are always pleasant.I will see you again soon! Great Service.

Due to inclement weather in gulf coast area, we were out of electricity from over 3 days, and we found this place was nice and comfy to stay. Will recommend this hotel and will come back to stay at this hotel.
Rooms were clean and beds, pillows comfortable. I love the new showers though our room this visit didnt have one of them. I must admit I was disappointed. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this hotel 2 weeks for work and I must say it was a pleasure. It helped my experience of not being at home more delightful. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. It was a joy waking up every morning going to breakfast and seeing smiling faces before your day starts. Diana Arana asked me every morning how did I sleep the night before. I may have gained some weight eating breakfast every morning because I dont get it in every morning when Im home but I did work out everyday in the gym. The workout equipment has personal TVs and they will give you complimentary earplugs. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again if I was back in Bay City for business or pleasure.
This is a very clean hotel with an attentive staff. I was checked in promptly and informed of the local channel that the Super Bowl was on. My room was comfortable and I slept great. Checkout was super fast.
We have stayed at this location many times. Always treated with respect. The staff is great especially Tammy at the front desk. She always has a smile and is very willing to help. Even went out of her way to bring me an answer to a question i had asked her earlier.

The water in the rooms was luke warm at best. I asked the staff to look into this and nothing was done. This was brought up three times and the issues was not addressed during the week and a half stay.
I checked in around 4:00PM the children in the room above my room running and jumping like they they outside very noisy. I called the hotel management around 8:00 P.M. the loud thumping and banging continued at least two more hours.This hotel on line was not pet friendly service animals only allowed there was dog in the lobby on the elevator the carpet in the room was spotted and dirty the tub bottom was pealing with uneven edegs Thank God we had shower slippers.
The swimming pool was extremely too small, the pool towels were extremely too small. The doors to the rooms slam extremely too loud, and the Chiefs veneer Furniture probably would look better if they had a bought it at Walmart. 😋 Overall the price wasnt bad but it was a really cheap hotel and I did not like it
We love staying here. This was our second time to book this hotel. It is conveniently located for us to travel to and from Matagorda, the breakfast is great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. After a long day on the beach, it is very nice to come back to the hotel, take a hot shower and get in the very clean and comfortable beds! I definitely recommend staying here and will most definitely be returning.
We work at Sweeny Texas every month or 2 for few days or few weeks. We all reside at this Hotel. Last stay was about 12 employees for 3 full weeks. My employees are always happy to be there
This was our first stay at this hotel since it opened a short time ago. We found that everything about the hotel was very nice. Our room was great, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was the usual for the chain. Overall, we would recommond folks considering this hotel in their plans when in this part of the country.

We were in Bay City for a family wedding. There were 14 of us that stayed there. The front desk staff was great. Linda helped us out more than once. She was very good and helpful. Give her a raise and definitely keep her.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff went above and beyond. Great breakfast with a lot of variety. Clean pool area. Well lit parking and pool area. Pearla, the manager is the best, as are the rest of the staff of this hotel.
The air conditioner/room thermostat worked wonderfully. The bed and room were spacious. Bathroom and shower were decently spacious. Everything was clean and staff couldnt have been nicer.

We booked and paid for 2 beds. At the counter she only has a king and didn’t adjust our rate. The room smelled like smoke, we walked away with smoke smelled bags and clothes .. it was horrible.When people would go to the front desk we watched them stand for 10 min waiting for someone to be at the desk. This happened to 4 customers. I finally had to say excuse me and the young lady would walk up..Horrible experience.

I would have rated this place 5 starts for professionalism, kindness, and service had it not been for the bad yogurt when I went to eat. No biggie, stuff happens. I went to inform the staff or find kitchen or desk assistance to inform them. I couldnt easily find the employees. I finally found the lady from staff hanging out and talking at the desk and had to stand there and wait for their social hour to finish. In the end I threw the yogurts out before I became more annoyed at being ignored as a guest since my previous experiences were good and the hotel was otherwise a clean, positive and happy experience.I do have to say though the staff I saw near my room (4th floor) were all kind. There were 2 in particular, the one whose name I managed to get was Lety (Hopefully spelled correctly) was very friendly , provided fast and thorough service in a professional yet very kind manner. All in all wasnt a bad stay and worth the price. Quiet and clean for a weekend stay. If we are ever traveling to Texas in this area again, we would consider staying here. Just remember to check the expiration dates
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. I stay at Holiday Inn Express frequently, and this hotel was very clean and comfortable, as usual. The breakfast area was large and comfortable with a good selection of food. The fitness center was above par for space and equipment. Dumbbell rack included.
I had a nice stay while in Bay City for business. Room was spacious, bathroom was clean, and breakfast was always nice and hot. This is a typical Holiday Inn Express, and it is consistent with the standards I expect from the chain.
The beds are made daily and I received new towels and had my trash taken out daily. I gave this hotel a 3 because while Ive been here Ive had to change rooms because my thermostat quit working altogether. Another reason is they changed the wifi password and did not tell me the new password. Im here for work so not having wifi sure does make it hard to work from my hotel room.
Stayed at Holiday inn express Bay City Texas from 12-29-2016 through 4-12-2017. This is a 3 1/2 month stay spending thousands of dollars and I am credited 0 points for my stay. I am hoping my request for points will be approved.This does not surprise me considering the low quality of customer service.During my stay I had several packages delivered to the hotel due to work needs, when I asked if a package arrived I would get a blank stare and they would point to a pile of packages telling me I could look through those and see. Every day I dug through other peoples deliveries until mine arrived.one day breakfast was not ready as per the scheduled time, I was told they changed the start time of breakfast. without advanced notice I was not able to make other arrangements for breakfast and went to work hungry.

This is hands down the best holiday Inn Express. They have popcorn, infused water, many coffee choices....they have a decent gym for a hotel....it is bright, clean and well lit. They have the dining room open so that can bring food in or play cards or whatever....the beds and pillows are always perfect. The only complaint is that i had trouble with the wifi until late
Pull out couch had no bedding. Front desk said it should be there but it wasn’t. When they brought it to the room there was no blanket Called again this time the blanket turned out to be a mattress pad. Had to call again and they finally got it right.
My wife celebrate our anniversary each year by spending a relaxing day at the beach at Matagorda and then spend the night in Bay City before heading home. Weve stayed in a different hotel each time, but this hotel topped them all and we will stay here again next year. Everything was great.
The shower was our favorite part. Love the new walkin showers. Makes it nice for us old folks.. Was missing my My pillow Ha! A bit spoiled there. But the beds and pillows were quite comfortable.
We spent 5 nights at the hotel during the Texas freeze - the staff was friendly and helpful; the power stayed on; the frozen water lines were mitigated with flush buckets - it feels like we survived the big freeze as a team.
We really enjoyed our stay here over the 4th of July weekend. It was relaxing, only 25 minutes to the beach and there was a fantastic fireworks show we could see from the hotel.
The staff has been great every time we have stayed. If we have encountered an issue they have been very helpful and very understanding. We have had to stay for several weeks now for work and this is definetly my preferred hotel in Bay City!

Hotels fairly good for Bay City Texas. Lot of service workers stay there rooms were a little bit outdated an air conditioners did not work as expected room also was a little musty are bed linens were clean and fresh everyday.

Nice hotel, however my room was lacking. I had no lamp in the seating (Sofa coach) area.. in the sleeping area there was a lamp hanging from the ceiling where you would expect to find a chair....no chair.. it was raining and I was unfortunate to be on the bottom floor right next to the drain spout so it was loud. Partly my fault because I didnt ask for a different room.
From the time I got there and checked in everything was easy and smooth. Beside the bed was total hookup for your phone charger, quiet and room temperature was very cool, just adjusted the temp a little but other than that it was great.
Excellent hotel!! One of the newest in the area. Rooms were clean and service was outstanding. I would stay here again if I had to come back to the area. Entertainment and restaurant venues are limited, but that doesnt reflect on the hotel.

There is one guy that works here most of the time that is the most professional and has always helped us out tremendously and gone out of his way to make sure we are comfortable and happy with our stay. He is the textbook on hotel hospitality!!! As for the new guy working the desk, dont take your training wheels off anytime soon. You almost cost your employer a star or 2 on ratings. Maybe Mcdonalds would be a better fit. Just saying...
We were greeted at the front check in, very nice employees. We were visiting relatives in the area and this place was great to relax, sleep and feel refreshed after some long months at work. Wi-Fi was great, we ran 2 tablets and a laptop with no problems !
Nice breakfast bar. Good internet. Convenient location. Only issue was that the room was designed for handicap access, and I did not care for the shower setup. Was told that no other rooms were available, so I could not change it.
Great hotel. The only thing I didnt like, they started a new program that you can skip daily room cleaning for 500 extra points. Im fine with re using towels and soap and all that, but they could at least take the trash out.
Beds are really comfy even the pull out couch was comfy for our 6&8 year olds. Hot free breakfast Im the morning and very friendly staff!
Newest hotel in Bay City. By far the cleanest hotel in Bay City. The water pressure is good but they could O with a better breakfast. Its the typical Holiday Inn powdered eggs but at least they offer breakfast. Very clean rooms and very friendly staff.
It was wonderful we got the king suite. Only reason it is 4 and not 5 stars, is because the maid opened our door the next morning hours before checkout. No knocking, no warning just opened it right up.
This is the second time we stay at this location and we have absolutely enjoyed it! The front desk receptionist took good care of us and made sure we had a pleasant stay. Well be definitely staying here the next time we return.
I dont remember the front desk guys name. He was a Asian gentleman. But he was very helpful and knowledgeable with impeccable manners. I see this guy not only moving up with the company but being a Manager if he isnt already. His impact will make Holiday Inn the only hotel I stay at when I stay in Bay City, TX.
The staff was wonderful and friendly. The Bed were wonderful!! Breakfast great. The one we did care for was internet service was slow. TV need upgrading. Very clean Place will stay again.

I stayed at this holiday in for two weeks in Bay City on business. The hotel looked new and clean. Room was great. Staff was great. And locations was five minutes from place of business. Would stay here again. Good hotel for good price.
Each time I come to Bay City , TX I stay at this property.I was extremely disappointed with the many stains on the carpet. The room was musty and smelly. A good carpet shampoo should have been used prior to releasing this room (103)
Only 1 washing machine worked.Laundry room was 60 degrees, heat malfunction.No Cell Phone reception in Hotel.Food sucks. Pool is dirty.Rain Gutter kept me awake all night when raining.Otherwise Hotel was OK.
My family was trying to get home after a long weekend out of town. I was too tired to drive so we pulled into the Holiday Inn! We loved our stay. Beds were so comfortable! I usually have a hard time sleeping but I feel asleep fast.

My stay in Bay City Texas was great. I always seem to locate an IHG hotel in the town in which I am working. If not, one that is close. Rooms are always nice and upgraded. The staff always recognizes you as a IHG club member. You are greeted with a smile. I will continue to stay at a IHG hotel.
Pros: solid, free breakfast convenient to town; quiet. Cons: on a recent stay, was greeted in my room by a roach, and the used, hairy washcloth had not been replaced from the previous occupant.

2022-01-15Stay frequently. Staff is polite, professional and helpful. Parking is easy and safe, hotel is clean, room is always ready, breakfast has nice assortment and what should be hot, is hot and what should be cold is cold. Most comfortable bed and pillows I’ve ever experienced. Big screen TVs, easy control AC thermostats…….and Ms Carla and staff pay close attention to detail. All at reasonable rates. Hard to beat.

2022-05-12Long time IHG member and holiday inn express frequenter. My last two experiences have made me move to a different preferred brand. My stay at the Bay City Holiday Inn Express was rough. We had scheduled adjoining rooms far in advance for a trip to the coast. We needed the adjoining rooms for the kids and this is why we picked this hotel. When we arrived the heat was stuck on in one of the rooms making it uninhabitable. 90 degrees and humid. The hotel staff was immediately notified. There was no one that could help or even attempt to help. No maintenance, no manager. This was the case for the entire weekend we stayed there. The only solution was to move us to separate rooms which we couldn’t do with young kids so we crammed into the one room with air. We made it work but I was still charged for the room we couldn’t use for 2 nights. I asked for a manager and there never was one on site. I left my cell phone and asked the manager to call but in a week no call. The other issue was cleanliness. It was filthy. The floor was sticky and one swipe with a towel showed it was black and gross. My only option is now to write a review and stay somewhere else from now on. Good bye HI express

2022-02-17Marla, The general manager, was great to work with. She called ahead of time to make sure we were coming and that our room was ready and took care of all of our requests. Our favorite front desk helper was a young lady from Columbia that we nicknamed B2. She has an outstanding personality and tremendous people skills for her position. Marla is very lucky to have an employee like her in todays world. We wish B2 good luck with college. I have one question for B2, how do you eat a quart of ice cream with a plastic spoon? Thank you very much to the Holiday inn staff for their hospitality.

2022-03-17Negative: The shower was very dingy and stained. I still had soap ring from last protein staying, and the floors were dirty and sticky. The beds are very uncomfortable. I usually love holiday inn but this one is a definite nope for future trips to this area.

2021-12-26I like this hotel everyone is really nice to me, theyre always greeting me when they see me, they are so polite. The rooms, hallways, pool, lobby, and outside land scaping is always clean. I recommend this hotel for nice visit to Baycity either for work or vacation, its conveniently located near the Matagorda Bay and palacios Texas where you can go fishing or swimming. 2021-10-21The review wsite not let me uoload pictures. The worst stay ever. The lady who checked us in was amazing. Unfortunately, she does not have the support of management. They left her to the wolves to handle all the complaints while management sat at home ans talked negatively about the guest ans dis nothing about it. Anyways, switched to 3 rooms with mold, mildew, putrid smell... Also, while waiting to complain to the kind lady There were several other guest complaints about towels, AC not working, towels not being replaced by housekeeping and more. Mr. Anderson was the manager we communicated with; he was very agressive whike speaking to us. He was the same with his employee... if it wasnt for her I think we would have had to sleep in our vehicle because everything was booked in the area and it was 9 PM. We never imagined we have an experience like that. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone for leisure or business. The place sucks... with the exception of the awesome guest service specialist. She handled each complaint with kindness ans professionalism.

2021-09-04Rooms were very clean and well supplied. The shower had loads of pressure and hot water. It was 100 degrees outside but the A/C in my room was fantastic. Very nice staff helped me check in a little early so I could get set for an online business meeting. Great experience staying here.

2021-07-07Positive: I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. I loved their fluffy pillows. They had breakfast as early as 5:30 which was great because I am an early riser. I will definitely be back. Negative: I did not like that there were only 2 adult towels in the bathroom. I realize we could ask for more but it wouldve been better if we had at least 4. That will not change my opinion about returning. It was a slight inconvenience that was easily remedied.

2021-08-14I good standard breakfast minus the sour milk that was still in date. Great beds, quiet, clean room. Nice soap.Nice staff. Clean work out area.Clean pool just small like your sitting in the parking lot. Could use more seating out there.
