DO NOT choose this hotel. They pretty much change assistant managers every other day. The customer service is absolutely terrible. I made the mistake of listing them on my wedding invitations. I signed a contract for the shuttle service and hotel block. They then tell me that the shuttle will not be operating and then they have better rates on their website than the ones they offered me. When I called to ask if they could do a reduced rate for my guests from the online rate they said no. Erik supposedly manages other hotels as well but I’m assuming he does about a great of job as he does with this one, which really isn’t saying much. Save your time, the headache, and any other inconveniences by just choosing another hotel. HORRIBLE hotel service!!!
Each stay, I am greeted with smiling faces. The hotel is so lovely, modern, and clean from the parking lot all throughout the inside. The beds are so comfortable and I feel safe in this location. The rooms are perfectly designed. The breakfast offers a fine variety of choices and their coffee is superb!
This was a great hotel, however it kinda sucks that the workout room closed at 11. Also we booked with a wedding package deal and didnt recieve our gift bag. The service is decen the Breakfast is pretty much a let down. Still a nice place, feels safe. I like that the elevators operate in their own circuits so the wait time can be less. Also, unlike every hotel Ive ever been too, in different cities and states, they dont require a credit card to hold the reservation. They only asked if it would be a visa or Mastercard that I pay with. I found it weird, but also very enjoyable. It just kinda had me worried that my reservation wasnt secure, but in the end it was.
I had to stay for two nights and was there for business. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel was quiet. I would have not known others were present unless I saw them at breakfast or in the elevator. The exercise room was clean. This was a very relaxing business trip my husband and I both enjoyed.
We arrived quite late and upon arrival there was a Spanish speaking guest trying to check in. The lady at the front desk told her that she didn’t speak Spanish in a rude manner and failed to be professional. I stepped in to translate to be helpful. When the coworker arrived she saw there was more than one guest trying to check in, the lady told her coworker “Oh good, you speak Spanish. You can help this lady.” There’s ways to say things in a professional and courteous manner- she was not only disrespectful to us the guests but her coworker. I would also like to point out that towels were falling apart and the lounge chair in the room was very dirty. I am a spire member and an extremely disappointed in my stay.
We stayed here for a track meet and it was a perfect stay. Rooms are huge and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was served safely and with all the track kids staying there too they kept up with the demands. It in a good location right by the mall and nice area. Great place to stay !
When we choose a hotel for quick trips we tend to choose Holiday Inn Express. They are clean, comfortable and reliable. This one time we did not make reservations in advance. It was not a holiday weekend and no special events were in the area - there were not even many cars in the parking lot (not even the next morning). They obviously were not busy, but when we asked for a room at 4:15 in the afternoon they said they wouldn’t have one ready until 6pm, with no apology! ??? All available rooms were checked out of by 11am. They had over 5 hours to clean and they didn’t have one room prepared? This is why hotels have that gap between check out and check in, so they can get ready for the next round of guests. It was frustrating after traveling all day. ... Everything else was fine. ... Skipped their breakfast. We’ve had it before and would not recommend.
Got back to my room after dinner, laid in bed then felt something crawling on me. After taking a closer look the bed was inundated with tiny bugs crawling all over it. Called the front desk and was told I could come down for clean sheets if I wanted.Only after showing her a zoomed in video, which I would post if I could, of the bugs scurrying around on the bed did she offer to give me a different room.Im in town 1 week out of the month and this is the second time Ive had issues with cleanliness at this hotel.
If you plan on sleeping here I would recommend bringing your own pillows. The beds are incredibly hard and not comfortable at all. For 5 nights I stayed and every evening I sat in my car to watch tv instead of going up because it was just uncomfortable. Didn’t actually get to sleep each night until 1-2 in the morning because I just could not get comfortable. This is by far the worst holiday in express I’ve stayed in as far as comfort is concerned.
The hotel is located in a good area. I have stayed there numerous times over the years. However, this time the hotel appeared to be run down and dirty. The pool area was dirty and unkept. This is not how it had been in the past. Not sure what is going on but the hotels appearance in declining fast.
We have stayed at this Holiday Inn multiple times of the last couple of years and have watched it decline in quality and maintenance. If youre looking for a place to bring your litter of kids for the weekend to use the pool, then this place is perfect for you. However, the construction of the hotel is cheap so you hear every footstep and sound throughout the building. The front desk was unable to relocate us a higher floor so we slept very poorly during this stay. Cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms and hallways has degraded over time too. Mildew and hair were in our shower stall and the hallways were littered with wet towels and trash. Both treadmills in the gym were out of service and other things throughout the hotel showed signs of damage and wear. Overall, I cannot recommend this place any longer and we will not be staying at this place again.
Had a great time was very relaxing. The pool is nice and well kept and the beds are great. Great services at the desk and cleaning the rooms. Can use a remodel on the showers for the price of a room youd expect a better shower. And sad to say but no breakfast was offered due to covid-19. Would have been nice if the let you choose your food and head back to ypur room with said for to keep the social distace. Overall great place and will recomend as well as return to stay
I did not like the fact that cleaning was not done until after the 5th night. I can accept after the 3rd night, but any longer after that is not healthy for anyone. The hand soap is a solid bar which only makes a big mess without a soap dish. There should be additional towels up front if one is going to stay past 2 nights.
Our stay was not enjoyable. We planned on staying a month and asked the front desk to put us on the list for daily cleaning. They never came and after several times of asking the front desk and calling for house cleaning services we left. It was bad we were begging for a vaccum at 8pm at night and fresh towels because we figured by then the house keepers still weren’t coming for the day. Day after day of no cleaning services and when you have little kids that’s tough. Then some of the house keepers wouldn’t give you a vaccum and was told only they could use them. Not sure if they have a shortage of House keepers but I have never had to beg so much for House keeping. Also, every morning we would go down to eat Breakfast at 9am and most of the time we were told they were out of whatever they had for the day. Instead of making more food they would just say sorry it’s all gone. Not impressed with this place.
Ive stayed at this hotel many times and have never had problems. This time I was checked into a room that, upon entering, appeared to be occupied. Lights were on, bed was unmade, trash bin was full of fast food packaging. I was put into another room and everything seemed fine until I got in the shower the next morning. There was no shampoo and very little soap. On the subject of shampoo and soap, I really dont like the floral scents that have been in use for the last few months. Still, floral scents are better than nothing.
Worst Holiday Inn I’ve ever stayed at. The neighbors banging against the walls coupled with the kids playing tag upstairs mixed with music at a dance club volume coming from the pool area on a Wednesday night made for a terrible stay. Not to mention the staff offered no compensation and are not familiar with their own IHG system. Neither my points or stay is documented on day 2. Never again will I stay at this location.
This stay was excellent! What I liked most was upon arrival the front desk staff member was very personable, and sweet. She really made me feel welcomed. When I told her that I knew we had points, but wasn’t sure how to get to them, she went above and beyond, helping me reset my password on the app. Despite the internet not loading and working for us at that moment, she remained patient and never made me feel guilty for wanting to use my points. She was really what made the stay so great. We also really enjoyed the welcome bar of snacks. It was very helpful as it was late and we had forgotten to bring water. Thanks again on a job well done!
I drove to Edinburg from San Antonio and arrived at the hotel after 10 pm. I was greeted warmly and efficiently. My room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. I left early the next morning with my bill in hand. I had a great night’s sleep because the room was comfortable and extremely quiet. My only critical observation is that the water pressure in the shower was underwhelming. With that said, I still had a great stay. Thank you!
I have been staying in hotels for the last 6 months due to COVID. Hotel was very clean and staff was excellent. We checked with about 30 people and process was smooth. Rooms are still cleaned daily and most other hotels I stayed at during COVID would only clean if requested or once weekly. The only complaint I had was the internet which was not very fast and wifi cut out frequently.
The first room we were assigned had a little lizard in it, so we requested a room change. In the second room, the phone went off at 2 am and 4.45 am and when I tried to call the first desk to let them know I did not request a wake up call, the front desk couldn’t hear me. I mentioned it at the front desk the next morning, but that night the phone went off again at 2 am and I had to unplug it because once again the front desk couldn’t hear me. When I mentioned it to the person at the desk the following morning, she told me to unplug the phone!!
Positive: I hired an uber driver and Hotel employee went above and beyond to translate for me!The drivers GPS wasnt working and they ended up going the wrong way so I called the hotel and Hotel employee translated spanish from my phone so I knew what was going on Negative: No!
I have stayed (lived) at this hotel through COVID, Hurricanes, and normal business, and i TRY TO STAY HERE when i have an option. I enjoy the staff - they are fantastic, friendly, ready to help and smile. They even remember my name and go out of their way to help you have a good stay.
The rooms are great! Very clean, comfortable,,and spacious. The only problem we ran into is with the staff. We ran out of toilet paper and they took about 4 hours to bring it to our room. We had to remind them a few times. And for breakfast, the older lady serving our food made us feel very uncomfortable asking her for our food selections. She seemed bothered and frustrated every time we needed her service. Other than those few mishaps, our stay was good!
The stay was great and beds were comfy. Upon booking my stay it was mentioned food services may be limited. Nowhere did it say breakfast would not be served at all. Another hotel we stayed at offered a full breakfast with limited options but at least it was available. My 9 year old was pretty hungry so we had to venture out to feed him. I wish I would have been told up front upon booking there would be no continental breakfast.
The hotel is nice, looks pretty new. The mattress was comfortable, and the hotel smelled clean. The happy hour tamales were outstanding - they were hot and there were ample amounts. We didnt drink, but they had sodas available. Staff was nice and pleasant. Breakfast had a good variety. BUT, and this is the make or break for me, so I probably wont stay here again, is there is no bathtub. I soak at the end of the day, and had I known, I would not have stayed at this hotel. But, if you are into showers - it was nice.
Our overall experience was outstanding, from the moment we checked in the Staff greeted us with a welcome smile. We were offered water and cookies. We were allowed to inspect the area before deciding about checking in and the Staff offered a short tour. Once we entered our room, the smell of fresh cleanliness immediately freed us from all stress. The pool was relaxing and enjoyable during the warm sunset as the palm trees swayed in the wind. The atmosphere of family, food and fun were found at the near by BBQ pit area. Our adventure began with a splash in the Texas size pool, that was neatly stacked with a towels surrounded by plenty of garden Furniture. The overall facilities seemed to create a peacefulness shielded by safety.
This is my favorite South Texas Holiday Inn Express. It is new and the staff is very accommodating. My only request would be offering a limited individually packaged to go breakfast. I stayed at the HIE Cuero last week and they figured out how to offer that limited breakfast and they were in full compliance.
Very clean and modern hotel. The hotel is either brand new or newly renovated with unique features. Check in was quick and easy and I found when I arrived that my name was on a welcome board as guest of the day and I received a complimentary 2000 rewards points! They also have a happy hour each night with themed food options. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were all polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if Im in the area!
Weve stayed at many HolidayInn Express hotels and have had less than favorable experiences at most. I do not give reviews good or bad, but this hotel deserves my excellent review. The staff was professional and friendly. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was clean and the pool was cleaned every day.
Loved it! Excellent service, excellent facility. Extremely clean, super friendly staff, I couldnt have wished for a nicer stay. Honestly, I wanted to take the bed with me it was so comfortable lol. Its always a huge plus when I wake up well rested and without low back pain. If I ever find myself in the area again...I will definitely be staying here.
It was a brand new hotel so there wasn’t much to be disappointed about. Staff is friendly fairly knowledgeable and very attentive. Room was very nice clean and comfortable. Internet service could have been better but was adequate. Tried to use the business center, there were a few issues with the PCs I believe because children had been on them. The breakfast was sufficient, I prefer a waffle maker over the pancake machine, but that’s just a personal preference. Overall experience was good I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
IHG properties never disappoint me. Only complaint is sometimes in the valley in Texas its sometimes hard to get a room on short notice but for you as a company thats a good thing being booked to capacity. Sometimes I have to go alittle out of my way to get a room but I do it because it is worth the trip compared to some of the other chains.
The staff was exceptional with their personalities and willingness to cater to our needs- though you could tell that their willingness to do so lack as a result of training. The front desk clerk was an amazing girl who worked very hard, but when large groups sharing a room, or more than one person in line, she was overwhelmed- I do not think that it was as result of her at all. I feel as though there was not management presence to her assist her in these waves. It was obvious that the correct employees were hired, but that they did not have the support or direction that they needed. It was apparent that they all were working as hard and as best as though could. The location was nice, the amenities were great. In addition, we had paid the extra fees to receive the additional 5000 bonus points per night to our account which we did NOT receive. We were very disappointed about the lack of acknowledgement displayed for our ongoing IHG member status. I am guessing this too, was a result of training or follow up. I understand that training is difficult- but management follow up and positive reinforcement and aid- with eyes everywhere is essential in the hospitality industry.Other than that mentioned, the location was great. The overall was a good experience, and the amenities were substantial with the exception of the lack of a bar or restaurant (typical and to be expected in the HI Express locations)- which we knew of prior. I am sure the manager is wonderful and is in the position that they are in- but I would question his back-up and support- he cannot be at all locations- training each individual. We are always impressed overall with our experiences and the rooms are always consistent, the locations convenient and clean, and many locations are updated with reasonable prices. We choose to come back as a result. I am just expressing these concerns not complaints as it is hard to come by hard and devoted workers and minimize turnover- and I fear that the lack of support the staff has will eventually be the result.
This is a relatively new property that still looks brand new. Roomy and inviting, this HIE just feels like home. Staff are fabulous, the afternoon snacks (Delia’s Tamales yesterday) were great! Very comfortable bed and a great night of sleep. What else can you ask for? Great job and my compliments to the staff.
We stayed at a different hotel nearby and were not pleased. For our second and third nights in town, we stayed here and were extremely happy. The amenities were beyond what is normally seen at most hotels, even other Holiday Inns. This is new, very modern yet comfortable. We were impressed with the water fountains that had filtered water. The happy hour snacks and drinks available were of highquality and decent variety; we expected lower quality food but this was fresh and delicious! Charging tables in the lobby were a nice tech-friendly touch. The room was very clean. The beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows were provided. (Stayed in nonsmoking 2 queen room.) Modern desks and plenty of charging outlets for all our devices.Staff was welcoming and helpful. Check in was easy and quick, as was check out.Parking lot had plenty of free parking and we were not worried about our car, which contained moving boxes and suitcases with valuables. We came in a car and for business in the next town over, so we did not focus on how walkable the immediate surrounding area was.Overall, great experience at this modern, clean, new hotel! Would highly recommend!
This was truly the most miserable stay at a hotel we’ve ever had (we are IHG Rewards members and Holiday Inn regulars). So many five star reviews surprises me... the hotel itself is new and clean, but the experience was AWFUL. First of all, note that if you book a “suite” you are getting one big room with a little tiny 1/8 wall that separates the bed from the living area. If you’re traveling with kids (which we were), this equates to disaster. We specifically asked if these suites were two separate rooms (some Holiday Inn Expresses are, some are not) and were told they were at booking. I guess their definition of suite is different. As for the rooms, they are SPARTAN. There’s no closet, no curtains, no lamps, no clock, limited (and weird) lighting, two towels, no extra blankets or bedsheets for the pullout couch (which are usually found in a closet). I went down to the front desk to request these items. The woman at the desk literally gave me a stack of WET TOWELS. I asked, “Are these a little damp?” She said, “Yeah, they’re a little wet, but they are clean!” The bedding she provided turned out to be a single flat sheet and a thin, scratchy blanket. No mattress pad (gross), no top sheet, no comforter. She was kind enough to bring them up to the third floor herself, though, so I appreciated that. But the bedding was unacceptable. They should be providing pre-packed complete bedding sets in a zippered plastic pouch— that way the college student on duty doesn’t have to think too hard and give half of what is needed. (I did ask about what we received and she said, “yeah, it’s always like that.”)The worst part of the stay was the NOISE. A new hotel should have good sound mitigation, but we heard running, bumping, and jumping THE.WHOLE.NIGHT. It was MISERABLE. No one could sleep, the beds were uncomfortable, the room temperature was cool but insanely humid (how does that happen?!), and there was no fan in the bathroom to relieve humidity from showering. Bottom line, guys, I’d go somewhere else. There are other new, well-rated hotels in town that we could’ve picked from, and we chose this one. Big mistake. Try another one. Don’t risk it. Our whole next day was ruined from lack of rest and that’s just not what you need, whether you’re on vacation or business. Skip this one!
If I could give this hotel 10 starts I would! Amazing hotel and an even more amazing staff! This hotel is clean (really clean!), modern and COLD when you come in from a hot day! I cover multiple states and stay in lots of hotels, but this is by far one of the best experiences Ive had in a long long time! Keep up the great work! I have you saved on my list of favorites!
Management followed up with issues with payment. They were extremely patient and went above and beyond to contact me and alert me of the situation. All of the staff were friendly and courteous. The location was clean and had a nice fresh scent. The room was very modern and had all the amenities of home i.e. tv, sofa, fridge, microwave, coffee in the room, etc. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Lots to choose from. The Cinnabons are amazing. I highly recommend this property.
Good experience in this hotel. I love when hotels have liquid soap and not just the bar soap. Soap shampoo and conditioner mounted in the shower. Shower gets as hot or cold as you want. Room comfortable and can easily manipulate temperature. Bed and pillows super comfortable.
It was a nice stay and at a reasonable price. My husband did not like the smell of the sheets which made it slightly difficult for him to sleep. Traditionally this hotels serves breakfast but they weren’t at this time and we weren’t notified of this so it was slightly annoying during the stay. Overall it was a nice hotel and and nice room.
We stayed here while visiting family in the Valley. It was so nice that it became a mini vacation. Facilities were modern and clean, with fresh soft linens and beds. Staff was helpful and gracious. The breakfast was much better than we expected, with plenty of options. Definitely staying here again!
I am literally in aw of how amazing my stay was at this Holiday Inn. I was there for a business trip and was provided everything needed. My hotel room was huge and had extra amenities that I was not expecting. The gym was amazing, had all the equipment and machines necessary for a good workout! What really blew my mind was the hospitality. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the manager went out of his way to ask what additional fruit we were looking for, the next morning he had a tray of a variety of berries for us.They also provide complimentary happy hour from 5-7 m-th with wine and beer. It was great to come back from a long day to a glass of wine in the comfort of my bed.Not to mention... the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile was staying there at the same time as us. The hotel provided free oscar meyer wiener hot dogs and toppings to the guest one of the nights.I am incredibly pleased and recommend this hotel to anyone!!I will be looking forward to staying there, or chain hotels, again.
The staff was friendly and easy to deal with. The room was clean and the hotel was very nice. We really liked the area also stores were very close. We enjoyed the breakfast it had a very good variety. My only issues was we were not informed of the happy hour and we had just ordered pizza. We would have loved to enjoy the happy hour we found out because we went down to purchase some drinks. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and from now on plan to stay there when we travel to mcallen to visit family several times within the year.
Rooms we very spacious and different from other rooms. Check-in was quick and staff was friendly. Good size pool and breakfast was amazing. Ready made omelets and 1 touch pancakes. Different variety of breakfast foods to eat. Will come back and stay here again when we return.
I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express, everything was clean, comfortable and safe. Every time i was in my room, i did not want to leave because it was so nice and comfy. The bed and pillows were just right! The stay was great, would definitely come back and stay here.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel location. It was comfortable and cozy, clean and the staff as always are pleasant, attentive to your needs which I always appreciate. The only problem I had was just having trouble going to sleep on the last night of my stay because of loud noises coming from guest who was above my room around 1am -4am seems like they were stomping on floor and television was really loud for awhile. Usually I do not have this issue. Overall I would stay here again and do recommend this hotel to others!
Im an Architect and when it comes to hotel rooms, I may be a bit picker about the space than others -- and the Holiday Inn Express in Edinburg shocked me with its thoughtful design and high level of comfort. First off - the rooms can be darkened, the bed was so comfortable it felt like a new hybrid memory foam/pillow top, with just the right amount of comfort and support. The pillow selection was an added bonus. But it was the design of the luggage storage and work desk that had me snapping pictures for recreation in our soon to be remodeled home office/guest room. Breakfast was delish and the dining area offered a wide variety of seating choices to accommodate eating alone or with others. The staff are quality, helpful, and keep the hotel in top shape. This location opened my eyes to the affordable quality of Holiday Inn Express, and I will now be placing them at the top of my hotel search list!
Very nice and modern hotel, all the things that you expect from a quality hotel. I want to compliment the Hotel manager Omar, sorry I cant remember his last name. Omar was very helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us and was very attentive. I also saw Omar on one of the mornings that we were eating breakfast going back and forth making sure everything was in order in the breakfast area being that it was so busy that morning. The staff we inconterred was also very nice and helpful. The room was excellent and very modern, I was impressed that there was USB charging hook ups next to the bed side light switches and by the desk area. Overall I think I have found my hotel for when I travel to the Rio Grand Valley area.
This Hotel went above and beyond to accommodate my children and I. The gentleman Eric or Erik, was professional and well mannered. I am an IHG member and having been to many Holiday Inn hotels, this particular hotel was by far a 5-star review. I recommended this particular Holiday Inn to everyone!
This hotel is not only beautiful but the rooms are very spacious, including the bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Food offered was good and breakfast area was spacious enough to accommodate the guests present in the hotel at the time. Loved the fitness room and convenience of the business center. I would have like a little more variety of channels but the ones provided are the more popular ones and were satisfactory.
This was the second time we stayed at this location and were totally blown away by the friendliness and wonderful staff. The place was so clean. We continually saw the staff cleaning the floors, cleaning the elevator inside and out. The staff always stop to say hello. The business center is very nice and wifi is very good. Front desk staff were super friendly and the provided a happy hour each night and the food was from local businesses and delicious! Super great experience at this location!
When arriving the person at the front desk was not inviting. We were the memebers of the day, she could have cared less, it was cool for us. We got there at 4:15, our room wasnt ready until almost 5. We were offered waters after sitting in the entrance of the hotel. Room was clean and smelt good, missing extra sheets and vlanket for couch my son had to sleep on, called front desk, told to come get them, when my husband went downstairs she laughed and said oh we are out, like it was the funniest thing ever. That was strike 2! She needs to find another job with people skills. When my husband asked if they could take bedding from an empty room she said no, we cant do that.... spoke to the manager and he was so embarrassed, cant blame him! Rest of visit was great, rest of staff was amazing.
We had made special requests to the hotel asking for a 2 bedroom suite to accommodate our stay. We selected this upon checkout through an online service. Upon arrival the suite was not available and although we were told we would be upgraded the room that was provided to us was not different than a regular 2 bed room. This was unacceptable and the morning manager did not provide much of an option to accommodate our inconvenience. We checked in late and opted to accept the room due to it being too late for other arrangements. We have yet to receive any response from the online provider or the hotel on this matter.
Room was neat, clean, and quiet. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning was good. Complimentary water and cookies was a nice touch. The check-in staff was professional and polite. The breakfast buffet was basically nonexistent. There was no coffee, eggs, Cinnabons, and only one sausage patty available on the buffet at 9:00 on a Saturday morning. I brought it to staff attention, no action was taken. Our family had to get breakfast elsewhere.
Reasonable value for money. Staff always helpful.Room was reasonably large and bed and pillows comfortable.Fridge in room and tea and coffee making available, although did not think much of the choice of tea bags. I had to use my own. No normal black tea bags.Free parking.Breakfast was adequate but not great.
Was very satisfied was our stay. Beginning with our excellent first encounter with your front desk gentleman. His smile and warm senciear welcome to your Holiday Innmade me feel right at home. The room was fine,a bit on the small side. The only real concern that I had was in the breakfast selection. NO APPLE JUICE,NO BACON,NO SCRAMBLE EGGS.However you did have turkey sausages some kind of rubbery taco shaped eggs ...
I enjoyed staying here this is our go-to place when we visit Edinburg. Rooms and price are great my only issue is the floors in the rooms. The carpets are DIRTY. I have a small child that I can’t keep off the floor and his hands and feet are dirty within minutes. I don’t get it. Otherwise great place.
Arrived at hotel and was greeted by friendly front desk staff. Easy check in. Room was beautiful with some modern looking furniture and space saving layout. Room was also very spacious and lovely. Bathroom clean and stocked with towels. Pool was nice with some little ground fountains and some in pool fountains. At night the pool is lighted with different colors green and pink, which contrast nicely with the hotels signature blue light towers. Side note: this hotel does not have a hot tub outside. There was also a very spacious patio area that staff mentioned could be rented for parties. Law enforcement present in this area. Simple breakfast: chobani yogurt, milk, dry cereals, turkey sausage, pre-cooked eggs, oatmeal, pancake maker, cinammon rolls, pastries, juices, etc. Didnt use the gym... but it appeared very spacious with more equipment than small city hotels. Probably nicest hotel within this small city.
Had a good stay, big space in rooms. Clean and all the necessary amenities. This hotel looks new like it was recently built. The location is good close to major highways. 15 minutes from malls, shopping centers and restaurants. A convenient gas station right next door.
I would recommend this hotel since its in a nice location. The hotel is quite clean, rooms are clean, the amenities are really nice. They serve breakfast, and its not a continental breakfast, its quite decent. They have a social hour in the afternoon, and that is OK. It could be better, no soda fountain, other than wine and beer. Which Im not a fond of either one. That would be my any complain for the social hour. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. I would stay there again and I would recommend it.
The stay was excellent from the very beginning. From the time we called for reservation to the day we left the staff was very nice and met all our needs. Even when we asked fro late check out. Rooms were very nice, clean and very big. I would be making out next stay at a holiday inn express. Our whole family enjoyed the stay. The manger that runs that hotel do a a very good job managing.
The hotel is new, contemporary, clean, and as a first time guest, I thought Id made a wonderful choice. Unfortunately, my stay went downhill from there. The first night, I heard what I thought was heavy rain striking the picture window in my room; however, it had not rained, and the sound was repeated every night of my six night stay, making it difficult to sleep. In the bathroom was an inviting, large shower with sliding glass doors...that wouldnt stay closed. I had to stuff a towel between them to keep them from moving. Then there was the breakfast. The first morning, it was ample even though the promised pancake maker was out of order. The second day, the biscuits and cinnamon rolls were missing. The third day, there were no pancakes, no biscuits, no cinnamon rolls, and no bananas. By the fourth day, even the bread was stale. Id finally had enough and decided to speak with the manager. He informed me that the breakfast had dwindled because the restaurant food supplier had not delivered a scheduled order, but that happened on Friday and I was talking with him on Monday. Couldnt someone have gone to the grocery store to replenish supplies? He also said hed have maintenance check on the rain noise, but it did not abate. (Beware of room 103!) Finally, he admitted that theyd been having trouble with the shower doors since the hotel opened....six months previously! To be fair, he offered me another room, but Id already unpacked and settled in and didnt relish the thought of moving. The final straw, however, was that after being out all that day, I returned to a room that was still unmade and could not be because there was no one there to clean it. All in all, it was a frustrating and far-from-relaxing stay, which being comped for one night did not improve. Perhaps, with time and better management, things will get better. You just have to decide if you want to take that chance.
Me and my family used to be a regular at Comfort Inn down the road from this hotel. Until Comfort Inn house keeping isnt so good anymore. So we decided to try this hotel and it was a big difference! Awesome customer service and housekeeping is really awesome to!! The rooms are bigger than Comfort Inn! The breakfast here is awesome!!! Yes its a little pricier than some hotels but its worth it!! Remember you get what you pay for, so why not go the extra dollar and go with these guys!!
The stay was nice. Housekeeping and staff were nice. Only had 2 problems. Carpet in roomVery dirty needs to be shampooed my feet would be black from all the dirt just by walking across the room barefoot. Also had an issue with my laundry. Gave the front desk agent my pants in the afternoon for laundry service. She stated laundry had gone for the day but promised they would pick it up in the morning and have it back to me that evening. When I went to pick up my pants the next evening I was told that my laundry was not picked up and that I would have to wait another day. My flight was the next morning so I had to wash it myself the last minute costing me more with the added inconvenience.
I had an overall excellent experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. The pool was beautiful the rooms are quiet it was a great experience. The only thing I didnt like was the breakfast I didnt think it was that good. However, its not any worse than any other hotel of this caliber that offers a free breakfast. Free breakfast is never good at hotel.
Enjoyed our recent stay at this Holiday Inn Express. Our room was large and very clean. General Manager Omar O Perera was at front desk when we checked in. He was very courteous and professional. In fact all the staff was outstanding from front desk to lady in breakfast area. Everyone was helpful with a big smile on their face. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the valley. Thank you!
We were greeted with great customer service from the moment we arrived until the minute we left. The grounds are well kept and tropical. The lobby and everything in between is clean. The pool area is nice and refreshing. The breakfast choices were great and there was plenty to go around.
Excellent location. Near restaurants and shopping centers. Near movie theater. Close to the university. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, excellent WiFi and great pool. Afternoon Manager’s Reception is fun. Great food and adult beverages are available. Great way to relax and meet others staying at the hotel. Excellent staff.
Friendly staff, both front desk and housekeeping. Very attractive lobby and pool area. My room was clean, modern, and well laid out. Appreciated having a Keurig in my room as well as a microwave and refrigerator. Everything from the bedroom to the bathroom was extremely clean. Ill be staying here again, definitely. The nicest hotel in Edinburg Ive stayed in.
This is my first night at this Holiday Inn Express. Alberto checked me in. His smile shone right through his mask. The room was clean and organized. My room has two Queen beds, a chaise lounger, desk, closet, safe, refrigerator, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker, ironing board and an Iron. First thing I did was to make sure the A/C could be set to 65° for perfect sleeping temperature.Update: I spent three nights at this hotel. My first breakfast experience was horrible. I can understand this is due to Covid-19. But, the food should be edible. The so called Cheese Omelet was cold and the cheese looks rubbery. The sausage was hard like cardboard. Coffee was bearable, but you are only giving a small cup. I asked for two and was only able to drink one and a half before it got cold. I want to make sure you know I didnt eat this Cheese Omelet meal. I also didnt use the kiosk to tell them how I liked the food. It was my first breakfast and I didnt want to take any chances of any kind of negative Karma. This hotel was as clean as possible even though they didnt do daily cleaning of the elevators. You could tell by the elevator floor that they sprayed it down with something. Probably to sanitize it. They didnt record it on their daily log. The second and third night the people above me let their rug rat run up and down the room until way past 10pm. In the morning the whole family was stomping around early in the morning. During heck out there was a rug rat running around the hotel lobby. Probably the same one. Like I said no negative Karma. I only let housekeeping in my room after the second night. I can pretty much keep the room clean when I travel alone. They did have a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator in the rooms. The best thing was that I was able to set the A/C to 65 degrees while I slept. That is a major requirement for me. It was higher priced then other hotels in the area. I will most like stay at this same location due to my regular travel to Edinburg, unless I find a better place.
This location is by far one of the best ones in the RGV. We have family in that area and always stay at this hotel while visiting. The customer service is outstanding. Makes the family feel right at home! The rooms are very comfortable and the pool area is great for the kids! Plus the food is great. Highly recommend this hotel.
I enjoyed the space this room provided, but even more enjoyable was the walk-in shower. I enjoyed the new lay out that this hotel offers. I really enjoyed the breakfast area attendant as she was very attentive. I appreciated the offer for the various items: pancakes, orange juice, etc. It was a very nice change from the tradicional hotel room that seems to be the trend. I would definatly make reservations at this hotel next time my plans take me to this area.
Overall, my experience was a great one. I loved that the restrooms, lobby, and rooms were clean and organized. The suite was equipped with wooden hangers, ironing table, iron, make up removal, a bunch of comfortable towels and pillows.Early the next morning they had a variety of food items that were all tasty. My favorite where the turkey patties.I highly recommend this hotel
Everything was great. The check-in, the cleanliness, the quality of room and price paid was great. The one appetizer at the evening reception goin was good but breakfast is horrible. The sausage and omelets were super dry; maybe they should add water to the dishes to lock in moisture. The cinnabons had a glob of icing on top of it; the outside was warm but ice cold in the middle. Just stick with the bagels.
Hotel is new and very clean.. The rooms are spacious and modern. The outside pool is very nice and even has a grill and patio area if youre staying for an extended week or weekend trip. The weight/work out room is large and has all new machines, free weights to get a decent work out instead of trying to find a gym. This property is usually my first choice to book, be sure to book about a week ahead of time because this property usually sells out.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn for just one night, and the hotel manager picked me up from the airport AND drove me to my commitment early the next morning, all included with my stay at the hotel. The staff and management really went out of their way to make sure that my stay was wonderful. Everything was clean and neat, great exercise room, beautiful pool, and lots of tasty breakfast options. Would highly recommend!!
Comfortable, spacious bathroom and bedroom. Clean, comfy beds. Loved the room being able to stay dark with great window shades. The temperature of the room and the water pressure of the shower great. Will definitely stay here again. It is located across from shops and restaurants, very near the expressway. It is situated in a nice area of town.
Stayed during the first week of October 2015 on business. My department had many rooms at this hotel. The staff was polite and courteous and went out of their way to make sure my co workers needs were met. They cleaned the rooms at times convenient to the occupants and put out breakfast early for those that had to be at work early. The night we all arrived they had a complimentary snacks/dinner available in their breakfast area. Hotel is clean, new, and well maintained.
The Holiday Inn Express was an amazing experience. Although I only went for a social event, I had an opportunity to look at the rooms; very large and comfortable looking. The place was very clean, plus the service was great! Compementry water and cookies was also a huge plus! A great place to stay the night if I had to stay somewhere.
I have found the rooms clean and service excellent with a courteous staff. I enjoy the appearance of the lobby, entrance and decor of hotel. The breakfast are consistently good. I feel safe in this location. Rooms also have a small fridge and microwave which is handy
Staff were welcoming and friendly. Questions to ensure that you did not need anything. Quiet facility. Nice, clean appearance. Breakfast staff attentive and courteous. Adequate parking, well lit. Very easy check in and check out. Close to restaurants and shopping. Easy to locate.

2022-06-12Decided to come here on a whim and it did not disappoint! It was very clean and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The pool area was also very well maintained and was also very spacious. The only downside was are room was not ready on time however the free breakfast and location quickly made up for that.

2022-04-07The hotel is beautiful, both the lobby and the rooms. My room was very spacious and the bed/bedding was comfortable. There was supposed to be breakfast included, but no one ever showed up to actually make and serve the breakfast, so I feel like I lost some value to this. The very last day we had to leave before it opened, but I could smell the food being cooked. The other three days there was no breakfast at all. In case this happens to you, the gas station next door has several options for food. The guests above me were also super loud one night; I think there was a child running back and forth across the floor, over and over. I called the front desk after 20 minutes, but that didnt resolve it. I called the desk again 10 minutes after that, and then the noise stopped shortly after. So I appreciate that the staff resolved that issue. My keycard stopped working twice and I had to have it reset. I also feel they should ask to see my ID before resetting a key card, but they didnt, either time. One of my washcloths had a short, curly hair stuck in it from a previous use. It was kind of wedged inside the fibers so I can understand why it didnt come out in the wash, but still, theres a bit of a gross factor there. The two gentlemen working the front desk were super nice.Overall I would stay here again. The keycard and breakfast issues were small annoyances only. I just dont feel like I can rate it 5 stars when its not closer to perfect.

2022-06-14I asked for two queen beds and a roll in shower for disable son they had us in a room with a tub which I could not use so they moved us to a room with a rolling shower which was better but smaller beds for size this time The shower was a roll in but the shower handle to switch from showerhead to hand held was way too high I barely could reach it handicap people can’t reach that high up. I did not appreciate having to move from room to room with two handicap boys.

2022-01-07This is the hotel I book every time Im going out of town. Their rooms are clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is good and they do have great coffee. The blackout curtains are a must for me. And the wall thermostat keeps the room comfy.
