Extended our stay and was glad to do so. We were there during a storm and they had many things to manage. Observed the staff giving consistent care and attention to every guest. Breakfast staff was like having a mom/grandmother seeing to the guests! Very personable and helpful.
The hotel was very professional and friendly. They were able to check me in quick with no hassle. The lobby was clean and they even had complimentary mask if you needed them. The room was clean adequate towels and toilet paper for me and my families stay. The complimentary breakfast was great. The best part for me was the fact that there was only one way into the hotel at the main entrance and after 10pm the doors locked unless you had a room key or called the front desk to check in. When traveling with 2 infants safety is my first concern. Overall the hotel was great and highly recommend
Overall the hotel was great. The staff was super nice and helpful. The room was good except for the bathroom. The tub was old and seams around the enclosure could be cleaned and redone. The vanity light was partially working and the towel rack was falling off the wall. Spending a bit more time focusing on the smaller details is all I can recommend.
I have stayed at this hotel many times for work. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Generally the hotel is very clean. On accasion when I have had an issue with a room they have done very well in correcting the situation or assigning me a new room. Great crew at the Alvin holiday inn.
If your in a pinch this place would work. Rooms smelled. The Market wasn’t stocked. Had room key supply issues. During a storm you had to take the stairs. Pool had a bunch of algae and wasn’t clean. Upside was the staff was friendly and attentive. I will pay the extra $30/ night to stay at a different hotel.
Stayed here for 4 nights in August. The hotel did a terrific job of meeting all our requests. Special thanks to the daytime front desk manager the w/o August 4 through August 8. She did a tremendous job for us. The breakfast staff also very accommodating as well as the housekeeping staff. Top notch stay. We look forward to our next visit.
This was a great hotel for us to stay the weekend while in Kemah sailing. The hotel followed all Covid protocols. The staff were all very polite and helpful including suggesting places to go out for dinner nearby. The women serving the breakfast were very helpful and service was very quick. They were always happy and upbeat. The room was very clean. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel in the future while we are sailing.
Much nicer than I expected. Loved that the room had many usb plug ins. Didn’t like that side doors could not be entered with a key from parking lot. I prefer the stairs but it wasn’t convenient. Staff was super friendly and accommodating and no issues except for my personal opinion on side doors! Would definitely stay again if I ever need to stay in Alvin TX.
We have come to most look forward to our stays at the remodeled Holiday Inns. We stayed at this location for the first time last weekend. The staff was great, the rooms are spacious, clean and well lit.Continental breakfast is a major importance to us as it saves us from having to eat at a restaurant 3 times a day. With the covid safety measures in place, it is visibly evident that the kitchen staff have alot of extra work on their hands. Mrs Alma, oh my gosh. She was so overly kind and attentive. She went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. She was so delightful, we were extremely happy to see her again the next day. We had a small trip to Louisiana planned for this weekend, however we made the unanimous conclusion to take our vacation closer to the Alvin area once again for the sole purpose of seeing Mrs Alma again! She is an absolutely wonderful soul, we look forward to seeing her again this weekend.
Great Stay. Staff was friendly and the breakfast ladies were phenomenal. They worked extremely hard the mornings I went down for breakfast. They made sure you were taken care of and got everything you needed. Super nice. A shortage of towels is the only thing I can knock on this hotel. Recommend for sure.
We booked a room for a quick trip to visit family in the area. Arrived at the hotel late, after check in and we get to the room, find the cleaning staff had missed trash hidden by the microwave. I contacted the desk who could not have been more apologetic and moved us to another room immediately making sure we were comfortable. It was just a small oversight (the rest of the room was very clean) but the front desk went above to make sure the accommodations were as we expected.
Alexis has maintained and managed this hotel in a professional manner since it opened. We have been visiting Danbury-for family and Galveston-for fishing since the early 2000’s. We have always stayed in Alvin at this Holiday Inn since the early 2000’s when it was newly built. We have quick access to everything and can come back to a peaceful, quiet, small community where we can get some sleep before the next day’s adventure. It has same level of cleanliness and the staff is attentive (George) and courteous. COVID precautions have altered how you receive your free breakfast, and the quality of the food and cleanliness are as good as before COVID. The Go-Go coffee is always hot and ready. The best kept secret when visiting the Gulf.
Great staff! Elevator works off and on during our stay. They need a new elevator. Need to open the breakfast area for guests to get their own meals. They can limit amount of guests in the food self serve area rather than have someone grabs it for you. It’s a busy hotel with lots of noises in the corridor. However, bed was great and comfortable.
The hotel is ok but didn’t know what government orders for military is. The lady had a attitude and didn’t want to be there that night working. The elevator didn’t work, we only get 2 towels and no extra. The curtain shade didn’t work, the breakfast room trash can was overflowing during breakfast and the coffee was out. Definitely not coming back to this location. We never had problems at other holiday inn except this one.
It was a lovely experience. Alma and Maricela did their thing serving food in the mornings. Shout out to the desk attendant Sunday, Jul 4, as she was diligent in making sure we had clean towels. There was a slight shortage due to when housekeeping is done. However, she kept me posted and as she promised, once the towels were finished she had towels sent to room 222. Amazing stay and if needed, will come back for sure!!
My family stayed in the Alvin area because my daughter was competing in a dance competition at a local High School. We drove in from North of Houston and arrived at the Hotel at approximately 1:00pm. Although we were early, we were able to check in without a problem. The front desk staff was courteous and very welcoming. The hotel was clean and all efforts had been made to provide a safe and socially distant/protected environment for guests travelling. Our room was clean and very comfortable, with all the necessities for an over-night stay. After a late night of dance competition we were able to eat a delicious breakfast before checking out and heading home. I am returning in a few weeks for another competition and will definitely be staying here again. Highly recommended!!
Although my husband and I stayed for just one night for one of our best friends wedding it was great. The room was the last one in the hall on 3rd floor. Super spacious king bedroom and super clean. I am an OCD type of person and I always check and sanitize the rooms myself with lysol before I touch anything. Exactly what I did regardless but I literally found no mess, hair or dust that typically most hotels have including the 5 star or e star room have. The staff was very friendly. They all wore face mask and enforced the social distancing. Would get another room at the exact hotel if we visit Alvin again.
Negative: Near train tracks, so you will hear some pass in the night. Security is very high, which can be good and bad when you are checking in. Middle coffee carafe was cold. Positive: Breakfast had a variety of choices. Room was nice and clean. Blackout curtains are great at night. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom amenities are a plus. Good value and reasonably priced.
I arrived to my room to find it not ready. The bed was not made and it was obvious that housekeeping was still working on it. I returned to the front desk to inform them of this. They scrambled around for quite awhile to find me another room. I went to the new room that they said was ready. When I came to this room the door was propped open but appeared to be ready. The bed was made and bathroom appeared clean. I noted that there was only one hand towel and one bath towel. This seemed odd but I could deal with it since I was alone. On my second night, I stopped by the front desk and requested fresh bath towel. The lady at the front desk said that I need to bring my dirty towel down to get a clean one. I explained that I only had 1 in my room to begin with. She was very short and grumpy with me about the issue. Stating that the hotel was short on towels. She finally reluctantly gave me 1 clean towel. I would have been more understanding to the issue if this was brought to my attention upon my check in and someone explained that there was an issue with towels.
Due to COVID, there were no housekeepers scheduled during our stay. We had to go to the front desk at 11:00pm for fresh towels. The wait for towels was over 10-15 minutes. Upon returning to our room to put the fresh towels in our bathroom, we found a gecko in the shower. My daughter and I caught the gecko and brought it to the front desk for them to release. Waiting on towels and catching critters at almost midnight is not my idea of relaxing.
My stay was amazing at this hotel in Alvin,Texas. The staff was super friendly, and the location was clean. I have two daughters so they enjoyed that the pool was open. We had evacuated for hurricane Ida and let me say this hotel made our experience so positive while we waited to return home. Thank you to everyone at the Holiday Inn Express in Alvin,TX
Overall experience was great. The room was very clean and also very comfortable. The breakfast was very good, at least to me. Biscuits and gravy with pork sausage patties along with a cinnamon roll and orange juice definitely hit the spot. The only thing I did N MGthe sink where whoever installed the sink lines left painters tape stuck to the wall in several different places. Other than those 2 very minor inconveniences, I loved it.
Im normally a fan of HI Express hotels, but this one wasnt my favorite, and I didnt get a good nights rest. Train noise at night, uncomfortable mattress, very bare decor and walls in room which made every noise echo - it made the neighbors seem louder than they were actually being. I know lots of bare surfaces and hard finishes are in, but I think hotels would do better to bring back big curtains, plush headboards, and other soft goods to help muffle the noise.
This is the only review I have ever done. The rooms were damp feeling and ac barley worked. My inlaws switched rooms because they couldnt take the damp non working ac unit to only find the next room cooler but everything damp. Bed, sheets, pillows everything had a damp mildew feel to it. No staff there to discuss the issues when we were there and at check out we were just ready to leave. Do not recommend.
Overall a great stay. Ac worked great, shower had a lot of pressure, the only bad thing is I had 4 guest on my reservation and only had 2 bath towels. I went to ask for towels and they said Im sorry we are at full occupancy and there arent any towels available......she did come back and offer me pool towels that are rough but we made do....a
Greeted upon arrival with Hold on.First room assignment was still dirty from previous guest.Reserved a room with two queen beds and a sleeper sofa; got a room with one king bed.Carpet was wet in the room, called front desk, got voicemail, no response. Was told by front desk at checkout, We dont get voicemail. Housekeeping staff and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful.
I have stayed at this property several times and the experience has always been good. However, this time I tried using some of the digital apps for Checking in and out. The Check-out app did not work at all. The Check-in app worked but never sent me notice that my room was ready. Also the cleaning service was already in my room while I was eating breakfast even though I had not checked out yet...surprising and disappointing. I mentioned this to the desk manager who said she would address this with the cleaning staff.
We stayed for few days. Rooms are OK somewhat old as molds were also in restroom. AC vents had molds which basically was the case in second room we saw. Decided to stay and cleaned myself. We reported to the front desk and Pamela (GM) acknowledged it and gave us one free night stay.
I have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express numerous times. The staff is fantastic! The hotel is clean. With the current Covid climate, I was very comfortable and felt safe. They implemented many safety details including hand sanitizer at every elevator station; and the staff wore masks. Breakfast was still served, though by the staff versus buffet. We were greeted Thursday evening by the manager, Kyle, who went above and beyond. Our nephew and family who are local did take out from the local BBQ (delicious by the way!) and brought to the hotel. Kyle allowed us to eat as a family in the closed off dining room. We felt so special! It was a fun family evening with no worries about safety. We enjoyed our stay and will return again....and again.
My crew and I were working nights at a local plant. We informed the staff that we would be working nights and sleeping days. They immediately worked around our schedule and allowed my crew to sleep when they needed to. The comfortable beds and black out curtains made it easy to sleep during the day. Everything was cleaned and ready for us when we arrived at the hotel first thing in the morning. It was well insulated and the noise was low so it was easy and comfortable to sleep the odd hours. The staff was very kind, and always smiling. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again when we are back in the area.
Checked into a room with a wet floor due to the AC. No solutions offered, no other room available, I HAD TO ask for towels to lay on the floor. Ice Cream wrapper on the floor, humidity in the room was horrible, the sheets and pillows were damp. The towel rack was hanging out of the wall and eventually fell in the toilet. Asked the next morning to be moved, still no rooms available. Compensated us for the first night and threatened to check us out if we insisted on being compensated for 2nd night, which the manager knew everything in the area was booked! The best thing about this hotel stay... leaving!
From the time we reserved over the phone this all was a great experience. As we arrived to time we walked in it all was good. Your staff were wonderful with every thing in informing us and taking care of us. Was even given an extra hour between our sons soccer game before we left. Can’t really say that I have stayed at any place better that this. Really enjoyed the stay with holiday inn express and your staff in Alvin. Thumbs up! Thanks for the stay Larry Garcia
Overall this hotel was very nice, the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and courteous. Our only issue was with the breakfast. There was a limited menue and it wasnt done buffet style. This caused lines to form and things to take longer than expected. The food quality was good, but again, limited in scope
Love the Holiday inn express in Alvin Tx Houston Areas. Great staff. Great M.G.T. Pam has made sure our stay has been enjoyable. And all the Briefest staff Alma and Marci have taken great care to make sure that Briefest has been hot and enjoyable. Made staff are very friendly and helpful.
We only stayed at the hotel for a few hours (while family showered) due to losing water and power at our house during the winter storm. Everything was great and the hotel staff were excellent. I know the shampoo, soap dispensers are to be “green” but during a global pandemic you may want to return (temporarily) to individual toiletries.
Our friends grandparents were celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary in one of the banquet rooms of the Holiday Inn Express Suites in Alvin, Texas. The hotel staff were extremely helpful with anything we asked. Highly recommend this location for a nice get away or whatever you may need.
Starting off, Kalen has accommodating to our needs. Nice, pleasant and understanding. Our original room was on the 2nd floor.1. Corner of room where pull out bed (our kids were supposed to sleep there. All four of us ended up on a queen bed) was caved in. Stepping on that area, the floor would move. Scarry.2. The refrigerator was not working. Previous to finding that out we went to stock up on cold items for our kids. They did store our items in the office refrigerator. Not convient for us but better than our food spoiling.3. The smoke detector was covered up.The night shift guy didnt have a care in the world to any issues or concerns we had. 😡Kalen was nice enought to move us to another room the following day. That roomWas decent..
The carpet in both our room were wet.by the AC units.Told staff and nothing was done about it.Carpets need to be clean, shampooed, in 205. you walk on the carpet and get in the shower your feet are blackRooms were not cleaned the whole time we stayed.I personally asked the cleaning personnel to clean the rooms twice and only one of the two rooms I had were cleaned.Towel rack in 203 was hanging from the wall.Had to request towels and toilet paper twice. Were told to come to the front lobby to get the items.I have stayed in this hotel several times in the past few years and have never encounter these issues. I will not come back. I spend a lot of money in travel and am a IHG rewards member to include a Holiday Inn Preferred Platinum Vacation Club member.
We had to evacuate because of Hurricane Laura, the evacuating experience was awful. But, Holiday Inn made the stay with them a bright spot in a terrible disaster. The hotel was clean, the rooms were much larger than we expected. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very good. We cannot say enough good things about this hotel.
I always enjoy staying at IHG properties. I kind of pleasure to stay at the Holiday inn Express in Alvin Texas just last week it have been remodeled in the past year or two and it looks beautiful. The bathrooms feel a lot bigger with a glass shower stall and I like how the shampoo and conditioner and body wash are mounted to the wall so you dont have to play with those tiny little bottles anymore. The color scheme of the room was just beautiful. And I cant say enough about how comfortable the beds are, its honestly like sleeping on a cloud. The rooms are very spacious and very nicely decorated. Try not to miss the cinnamon rolls in the morning!!
Dont stay here, we paid 300 for 2 nights horrible service. 1st morning they ran out eggs, 2nd night they gave me a double instead of the king suite I reserved they gave me a double and again no eggs, the lady said we dont pay for the breakfast because it is only complimentary we told her the only reason we booked was cause of the hot breakfast.
I just to stay at the Holiday Inn when I drove in from Fort Worth for my father‘s funeral. We had family come in and didn’t have any room so I picked the Holiday Inn to stay. I am forever grateful for this choice. The staff was wonderful they all knew the circumstances and they did their best to accommodate anything that I needed. I even had to extend my stay for one more night and the manager on duty was so awesome and let me know how deeply sorry she was for my devastating loss. She even remembered me at check out and again stated I was in her prayers. I am forever grateful for the holiday inn in Alvin for employing such wonderful employees
The room was spacious and nicely designed. Bed was comfortable. Tv channel options were really great. Price of the room was good. We got the King Suite. Breakfast was nice. They had pancakes which I love. Hotels usually serve waffles instead and I dont really care for waffles.
Got into the Hotel late about 11:30 PM , tired and been working 16 hours and ready to pass out. The front desk staff was very friendly and could tell I had had a rough day. They were very considerate and was prompt to get me in a room as quickly as possible. The room was already cooled down to a very comfortable temperature and as always the bed was comfortable and the pillows were great.?I got a really good night sleep. The Hotel was located next to a main Hwy and very busy for that time of night. The room was extremely quiet and it didn’t take long and I was out. Great night sleep!
After spending all day flying to attend a funeral, we arrived at the hotel at 11:00pm and we were greeted by James. His warm, attentive service was a great way to end a long trying day. He quickly and efficiently checked us in, found us an upgraded room that made our stay even more enjoyable. We stayed four nights and never once heard a door close or noise in the hallway. The staff were all wonderful and attentive. The hotel was very clean and never anything out of place. The hostesses that were in charge of breakfast were very impressive. Everything was always fully stocked and kept wiped down and clean. We had no complaints during our 4 night stay. Thank you for making an emotionally hard 4 days much easier to deal with. And no, we did not disclose the reason we were there and we were not Priority Club Members, so the service wasnt based on this. The service is just that good.
Breakfast was horrible. Even in the Covint environment, some individually wrapped sweet rolls, danish , toast, jelly, butter can be offered without viral transmission risks. The attendant had only one word in her vocabulary, Im sorry, Im sorry. Not her fault she was maxed out. Two attendants would have made a significant difference in customer service. The walk in shower was pleasant however the caulking and lack of attention to detail when it was installed was obvious.
Most importantly the room and the entire hotel was CLEAN and the beds are extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very nice but the water pressure could have been better. The room was spacious and enjoyable to relax in. The bar was fun but expensive, we chose to go elsewhere after we go the bill our first night. The fitness room is way too small. Unfortunately, the pool was being repaired during our stay.
The reception area and front desk were very clean. The front desk workers and sweet lady serving breakfast were also very friendly. Someone was always cleaning. The room, however was not as clean. The kleenex was in a wad at the top of the box because it was just pushed in. Once I started to pull some out, the color of kleenex changed. With all of the COVID precautions taking place right now, I don’t see that as sanitary. I also got an ugly view of mold/mildew when brushing my teeth. I know that it was the overflow but it can be cleaner than this. I would like to post pics but it is not letting me
This Holiday Inn Express is above average good. The decor is modern and tasteful. The beds are comfortable with big quality pillows. Breakfast was great and had options for guests with dietary restriction. The staff was kind and very helpful even when checking in late. The one problem was the bathroom and shower floor were somewhat slippery after showering.
The hotel and staff were nice. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The bathroom could have been cleaner - there was hair in the sink and gunk around the drain in the sink. The pool had a film around the edge and the hot tub had not been working for about 3 days at the time of our visit. There was a little issue of getting more towels for the room from the front desk. On a better note, the breakfast was very good and the dining room staff was very helpful and friendly.
The hotel, staff and breakfast were amazing.Only complaint would be our bathtub. I specifically asked for a tub not a shower. On the first night I went to take a bath and the stopper did not work. Used plastic bag to stop the drain. Requested for maintenance or to change rooms. Next day we were able to change rooms. Late that night I went to take a hot bath and relax but same problem again. The stopper did not work. So yes, I was a bit upset. Sunday at checkout, I did ask if they could possibly give me a discount for the room issues and I was told, well we can give you extra points. I am still upset about this situation. We will be returning the first wkend in April and I pray we have a room with a tub stopper that actually works.
The entire staff was amazing. Everyone was super helpful, friendly and professional. Any concerns I had were addressed. The facilities and room was very clean and well decorated. Obsessed with the beds and pillows, extremely comfortable (I even ordered a few pillows from their website). The breakfast was delicious every morning. They fed us so well we didn’t even have to eat lunch. Made sure we had plenty of towels while using the pool. Walmart is so conveniently located. I highly recommend this hotel. I was truly able to relax and enjoy my vacation.
We came for a long weekend and the hotel was one of the best we have stayed in. The hotel was well kept and maintained. The room was very clean, large, and comfortable. The service was very good and the breakfast had a good assortment of foods. The fitness center was clean and had several good pieces of equipment. The pool was very nice, clean, and a good temperature.
We enjoyed our two night stay very much. The hotel was very clean and the staff was really great! Every person we spoke to was beyond friendly and so willing to be helpful to us. Natasha at the front desk was the sweetest person and does her job beautifully! With the guest laundry being out of order, Natasha personally took my sons baseball uniform and washed and dried it for us so he would have it clean the next day. Wonderful customer service and a great place to stay!
We stayed one night. We checked in around 4p.. check in was lengthy staff member didnt know anything about ADA other than they had a room, she didnt know of room accommodations such as shower or tub? Rails or no rails? Disappointing to say the least but over we were able to check the room and ensure it was as accommodating as I need. It was! We proceed through our day plans and return around 11p. Just as we were relaxing the upper floor behins their party time. We called to have the disturbance midgated but it only grew worse and by 2a it was a full blown domestic violence case and it seemed like the front desk didnt do anything about it. The front desk phone was ringing off the hook, it seemed as if to be coming from the room adjoined to ours, with what im sure was complaints but finally the music stopped and the girls sobbing stopped around 5a. We were not happy as we had not really slept and had to drive 10hrs back home unrested..
I made the reservation a week in advance to attend a wedding. I was contacted by email to check in on Friday for our Saturday night stay. I did this. Arrived on Saturday at 2:30 and was told the room would be ready at 3:00. Arrived back at 3:00 and was sent to the room that had not been cleaned yet. Was told it would take 10 minutes to clean. Not very interested in staying in a room that is cleaned in 10 minutes! 20 minutes later if not longer, we were able to get in our room. We needed to be at the wedding at 4:00. Needless to say, we were late! We will not be staying at Holiday Inn Express again!
The staff here are great. Theyre wonderfully friendly and always around if you need anything. The room was clean, nice and comfortable. For whatever reason, probably availability, I had a handicapped room for this stay and it was much nicer and less obvious than other handicapped rooms Ive had in the past at other hotels. The pillows at this hotel are great (this was actually a colleagues advice to me, to stay at this hotel because of the comfy pillows), and they also have some extra amenities at their morning coffee station that I greatly enjoyed!
We stayed here for 3 nights during a recent visit to house hunt. The place was as close as we could get to our intended destination. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The young people at the front desk were all very nice and helpful! The breakfast was average. The room was very comfortable. The room had a strange scent, I am sure it was some cleaner they used because it was there each day after they straightened the room. It was not terrible, just different! We would stay here again!
We stayed here for our weekend vacation to Galveston. 30 minute drive to the island, no biggie, and it was affordable. Check in was painless - front desk staff very pleasant. They even took the time to print out directions to Kemah for us since we werent sure of the fastest route. We reserved a regular room with two queen beds. With our family of 5, it was a little tight, next time we will opt for a suite. That being said, the room was clean, beds were very comfortable, the set up was nice. The bathroom was clean as well, with the basic things provided - soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner, mouthwash. The tub drain leaked just a bit, but not enough that you couldnt enjoy your bath. The water was very hot - which is important to me LOL! The pool was of average size, the water was perfect temperature. The hot tub was not working during our stay, but its Texas - you dont really need a hot tub - its hot enough here LOL! The breakfast choices were average - cereals, bagels, danishes, bananas, toast, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and a pancake machine. The coffee was good. The second morning, we opted to go to a restaurant for breakfast, but that had been the plan all along (cant beat Ihop on the seawall). All in all, we would stay there again.
I had a great experience here at the hotel. The front desk people (Jay, Amber and Natasha) were very helpful and every time I would come and go they would greet me with a smile and ask how my day was. The room was very clean and comfortable and I loved the tub. Each morning I would enjoy their free hot breakfast and Elizabeth, the hostess, was always close by to offer her services. I was able to unwind, relax, and enjoy my stay. I will be back for another stay hopefully soon.
There was a wedding party in several rooms on my floor. They were all drunk, hollaring in the halls and slamming doors from midnight until 2 am. We switched rooms at 2 am. The next morning, we got up and went downstairs for breakfast. They were out of coffee. We were there for a funeral. We are in our 70s. We didnt get any rest. To top it off, no coffee. You would think someone would call the police for the drunk people in the hall. Also, the manager should have went to the store to get some coffee.
We had a late arrival and it was noted in our reservation. Upon arrival we weren’t allowed in due to what appeared to be strict COVID policies. Our room initially appeared clean although black mold was discovered in our bathroom. The next morning we had no water. We waited for hours for the water to return. The water came on but wasn’t hot. We had to call and advise the front desk of the water situation with little explanation or apology for our hours of waiting. The next morning we had no power for almost four hours. It became a joke as to what calamity would be next. A softball team was also at the hotel. None of them wore their masks and the kids ran up and down the halls. When bringing this to the managers attention she said she would contact the team. At the same time another guest came to the front desk to check out WITHOUT a mask. The manager did nothing other than comment under her breath. I wish our visit would’ve been better.
This is, by far, one of the best Holiday Inns where Ive been a guest. The staff is superb! You need it, theyre there for you. Their treatment of guests and especially Priority Club members is second to none. Maybe its just the type of clientele, but it is very quiet and restful. One of the few places I can count on to get a great nights sleep. The very comfortable beds definitely contribute to that. Why more hotels dont spend more on better mattresses, Ill never know. The rooms are spacious, very clean and with amenities many others dont have. Their snack store is well-stocked and has far more to choose from than other hotels. Location is very convenient, but highway access is a little strange until you get used to it. An absolutely great place to stay!
I usually stay once a month at this particular hotel. I have found the weekdays to be the best days. Weekend staff is less than satisfactory. Im not happy with the new upgrades of furniture and decor, either. I stay within the room a couple of days and prefer the comfort of the reading chair and lamp and desk with chair and lamp. It appears the newly redorated rooms do not have these items. Or, things are just up-in-the-air with renovations. Otherwise, I have received exceptional service and enjoyed a friendly and homey environment.
Everything about my room was just lovely. My only complaint is that it appeared the bathroom floor had not been cleaned as there were some marks that appeared to be a spilled drink which I cleaned with a tissue. It did make me wonder how clean everything else was in the bathroom although it appeared spotless everywhere else.Overall, I was actually most impressed. I would stay there again.
I have had a great experience at this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable, and housekeeping services have been good overall. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Its a great hotel, and I highly recommend it.Note: I meant to rate this hotel higher in my previous review. Im blind and thought the rating was set higher than it was.
I’ve stayed at the Alvin location a few times now and it has been a great experience each time. The beds/pillows are so comfortable and I always get a good nights rest. The linens and towels are always fresh and crisp. The lobby, halls and rooms are always clean and neat.
We were greeted nicely by the front staff, asked if we wanted points or welcome amenities. Told us which room we were in and breakfast hours. Room was cool when we got in and bathroom was clean. Air conditioner seemed to have a mind of its own sometimes. Didn’t seem like it would stay on all night.
Very nice hotel. Conveniently located. Staff was outstanding and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. My only negative comment is that I had asked for connecting rooms more than a week before my stay. On the day of arrival, I was told that connecting rooms were not available. Staff made it right by offering an upgrade at no cost. I was satisfied with that compromise. I recommend this hotel, and will stay here again when in the area.
First of all, there was no one at the front desk upon arrival and we waited for like 10 to 15 minutes before being helped. Then the elevator was nonfunctional and apparently that is a pretty regular occurrence and it has to be “reset”. Another problem we encountered was that the bathtub filled up while showering. That was disgusting. There were also not enough towels in the room for all of use to bathe when the room was for an occupancy of 4 but there were only two sets of everything. We had to call the front desk for more and climb the stairs to go get them. The young lady at the front desk seemed very frazzled because everything was happening on her shift and she was by herself but she kept apologizing and did her best to handle things as soon as she was physically capable of handling it.
My family of 6 lived here for 5 months after Hurricane Harvey, along with many other evacuees. Everything about the hotel, employees, and management is great. They do whatever it takes to resolve problems and make your stay comfortable. They are like a family. They hosted special lunches, Thanksgiving dinner, toys for our children at Christmas and always had a smile on. I highly recommend this hotel. One of the workers, Joy always made us smile. The manager is very diligent.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Alvin because it was a good hotel at a good price and relatively close to Galveston Island. We were not disappointed. Melissa, who I believe is the assistant GM, checked us in and was very nice. The bed was probably the most comfortable hotel bed Ive ever slept in, even the pillows were wonderful. The breakfast which is included was outstanding. We were very happy with all aspects of our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.
We always stay here when in town to see family. What was upsetting is the ac went out the first night we stayed and didnt work (until my spouse fixed it himself!) the next morning. We got no discount for it whatsoever. Rooms were all booked which is understandable. The front staff was nice enough to bring us a box fan but we were still pretty miserable. For us to have to pay full price during a holiday weekend and no AC isnt right. Hotels are not cheap.
We stayed 2 nights. No cleaning staff came after the first night. Would have been really nice to at least had our bed made. Speaking of the bed... WAY too soft and worn out. Laying in the bed rather than on the bed would be characterized as sleeping in a bowl with your butt at the bottom of the bowl and your legs and feet higher than your head. Very odd and uncomfortable. Not up to simply par with our previous stays at other Holiday Inn Express. We could have and should have spent a lot less for this level of experience. Disappointed.
We arrived for a two day stay. The initial room we were giving at check in, the TV did not work. The front desk clerk was accommodating and gave us a slightly larger room at the same price. Once arriving back at the hotel from our first day out, we came back to a room that had not been cleaned for the day. This was around 10 at night and was a really disappointing feeling coming to your room tired for the day to a dirty room. The night clerk offered to clean the room but instead we just took a change of towels. We were just ready to go to bed. We may just skip this one next time.
The room, bath, and public areas were clean and reasonably comfortable. (Why do hotels think the fatter the pillow the better?) The breakfast food was good and refilled quickly. We had an issue with the temperature in the room being uncomfortably cool and werent able to stop the under-window unit from going full blast. I went to the front desk and they came to reset it immediately.
The room was extremely small. I dont know if we were put in that one because we used points. I use a Walker and could barely get around. The tub had big chips out of it that showed its age. It didnt appear to be clean. We bring our own cleaning supplies when I have to use a tub, thank goodness. The a/c was loud and would run for a couple minutes the shut off then start up again. Kept us awake. I had asked for a handicapped accessible room. I guess one wasnt available. The property was full and you could not get near the breakfast area. The woman who checked us in was nice and welcoming.
This hotel was a good standard Holiday Inn property, with the quality and comfort Ive come to expect from these properties. Ive never written a review before, but I had to call out the free dinners that were offered here two out of the three nights I stayed. The first free dinner was a little sub-par (tacos, but no cheese!), but the second was actual Olive Garden salads, soups, and breadsticks. It was great to get such quality food from the hotel for free, from a real high(ish)-class restaurant! I had a great stay at this property, and would definitely return in the future if my travel plans take me this way again.
I stayed here for tow nights and had a very pleasant experience. The staff are extraordinarily polite and helpful and very nice breakfast servers were very treated guests as if they were in a nice private club. Room was better then most of five star hotels. The gym was well equipped and popular (crowded), but the pool was a bit short for serious lap swimming. Hotel for this qualities it was very reasonable rate. The very best Holiday inn Express that I have stayed.
The staff is very friendly and the hotel is extremely clean and beautiful. The pool is also really well maintained and clean. The room was very spacious and clean as well. For a complimentary breakfast they had a lot of variety. The next time I am in the area I will be staying here again! Great value!
I booked the room on my IHG app and booked 2 queen beds and at a higher price than the King room. When I checked in I was given a king room and told that I was stuck with it because they were completely booked. I’m not upset about the few extra dollars that the 2 queen room cost I’m more disappointed that I had to sleep on chase lounger type thing and that I was never contacted by the manager of the hotel so I could voice my concerns.
I had a great time during my visit, the employees felt like family members or fiends where I was able to share laughs and joke around with them. I travel a lot for work so I usually feel as though I miss out on things at home while Im away and the associates helped me out a lot with that. My room was cleaned everyday and bed was always made to perfection. There wasnt a bad moment during my stay and thats why it felt more like a home and not a hotel choice. Would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to or near Alvin, TX. Thanks again for a lovely stay and I will definitely be back.
We had just drove 10 hours to see our grandchildren. When we got to the hotel the front desk person had our name spelled wrong in the computer. After getting that straight when we got in our room the room was not clean. There was trash on the floor from the previous occupant , there was only one towel in the bathroom It was obvious that the room had not been cleaned. When we went to the front desk to tell them about the situation we were told that there were no more rooms available to us. The front desk person made a phone call when I told them I wanted our money back because we weren’t going to stay here amazingly enough another room came available. While I didn’t trust anything I. The room we were being issued for the night was actually clean we went ahead and chanced it. We decided not to sleep under the sheets because. I would not recommend this property to anyone else I will drive 30 miles out of my way to stay somewhere else before I stay here again
My friends and I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express in Alvin for a girls getaway in Galveston. We chose this location as it was only about 30 min from the island and so so much cheaper! This hotel has been newly renovated and stands out from other Holiday Inn Hotels I have visited, the amenities are amazing and decor of this hotel was outstanding. The rooms were clean and comfortable and gave us the opportunity to relax. The staff was extremely friendly and gave us many tips for our fun filled weekend. This hotel far exceeded all our expectations and we will surely be back for our next trip!
Great stay for an overnight. We were in town for a family wedding. Hotel was very nice, clean, modern. The room temp was very warm, thermostat didnt seem to adjust temp as it should have. Other guests in other rooms had the same complaint. I would bring a fan.Housekeeping staff was awesome! So friendly! Actually thanked us for staying with them as we left. Really made an impression. At the main desk Bill checked us in and Olivia checked us out. Both very accommodating.
We found the personnel and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. From our welcome as we checked in until our departure all of the personnel were friendly and helpful. We were extremely impressed with the breakfast-great room personnel. They were always attentive to our every need and always asked if they could do more to assist us. We had friends and relatives from many geographic areas there and all were pleased with their stay. Recommend this location and staff to all travelers.
I would recommend this hotel to stay in. It was actually a really great experience except for the fact that my room was not cleaned. There were no towels, there was no wiping off of tables or desk and the carpet was dirty it had not been vacuumed so it wasnt as easy to relax because the staff didnt clean the room properly. But when I went and I told the front desk they handle it so ,stay there!
The room was very comfortable, clean ,and the right size The tempeture was very comfortable not to cold and not to warm. The dinning room was clean, and the food was very good, and the choice was very good, and plenty of it. The staff was very nice and helpful when we needed anything. The fitness room always clean and the equetment was always working. We enjoyed our stay and the next time we are in the area we will be staying at your hotel.
Our stay at the Holiday Inn Express over the July 4th weekend was nice. There are many things that this property has going for it.The room we had was a nice, large, comfortable, and very clean room. The television was a nice sized flat screen with DirectTV, and that was a nice surprise. The cable service included a working guide and very quick response when you channel-surfed; something that is not found in to many hotel rooms. The beds are nice and comfortable with multiple pillow options. The room also included a refrigerator and microwave oven. The lobby has a little store in it where you can buy food and other sundries. The bathroom was nice and roomy and included amenities from Bath and Body Works. The towels we nice, big, thirsty towels that you do not see in too many hotels. The water pressure in the shower was in perfect working order and the adjustable showerhead actually adjusted into positions that you can find useful. The staff here was on their “A” game. We were greeted by Patrice who informed us that she was new, but she had a good handle on checking us in. Everyone else on the staff that we dealt with were just as friendly and professional.Their breakfast buffet in the beautifully-appointed “Great Room” featured a nice selection of sausage (both patties and links), biscuits and gravy, other types of breads, an automatic pancake machine that made a decent pancake, yogurts, cereals, and juices and coffee. This property has really great potential, however, there were some missteps during our visit. The pool was clean and sparkling, but the whirlpool had slimy fungus actively growing in it. First I thought it was just the color that they had chosen for the whirlpool (why green? I have no idea, but I could not believe that was fungus), but upon closer inspection – yep, green slime.I am hoping that the explanation is because it does not have a drain nor a skimmer and therefore cannot filter the water like the pool. And possibly all the rain they’ve had in this part of Texas lately is not helping keep the fungus problem under control.Something else we noticed during this visit was that the bathtub would not hold water for a bath. Even when you closed the drain, it still stayed open a little bit – just enough that you could not keep a filled tub. This was disappointing because the tub is one of those decent hotel tubs that you actually consider taking a bath in. The shape and size of it lends itself to that idea.Lastly, I must report that the wireless internet service that they offered (at least during our visit) was extremely slow and unreliable. I ended up having to turn on the mobile hotspot on my cellphone to get any type of reliable internet service.I hated including the negative items about our stay because I really like this place. The staff is great and the accommodations are comfortable. Hopefully the property can figure out the best course of action for the whirlpool and the internet service.I would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I have stayed here before, and are really impressed with the staff, the rooms, and overall atmosphere of this hotel. The owner is on-site most of the time, so any problem that cant be solved by the staff, he comes in with the answers. ie: our thermostat quit working, and all it needed were new batteries. He was there very quickly, and all was fine. The hotel also brings in meals several nights a week which saves us $30-40 each time. Its great to get together with other guests to find out where theyre from and just have a friendly conversation. BTW, well be back in September, 2016.
The experience was good. The shower head was horrible as it had a lot of calcium and other buildup on it. The water sprayed everywhere. The beds were hard and the pillows too soft for our liking. Breakfast was fine except the toaster was broken. Other than that I will continue to use IHG facilities as I seem to always have better service than other hotel chains.
This hotel was nice and very clean but there was no staff at the front desk ever. You had to ring a bell for assistance. Our A/C was out in our room for two nights and we were offered a dirty fan and a chance to move rooms in the middle of the night. We were not offered any compensation for our inconvenience. You can also hear people in the rooms above you walking around and it was loud in the hallways most all night. There needs to be better sound barriers for better sleep.
Friendly staff, great service and amazing breakfast options. My stay was comfortable and I would recommend this hotel over any other hotels in the area. All staff was courteous and willing to accommodate to any of my requests. Thank you Olivia, Patel, Jared and Alexus for making my stay a memorable one!P.S. Cant forget about the nice woman who made the amazing breakfasts after a long 12 hour night shift! Thank you!
Stayed in the hotel over Thanksgiving. Room was clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable and the front desk staff was very courteous. I only had one complaint... the smell! There was a very strong and foul odor emanating from the elevator....The smell was prevalent on every floor near the elevator and in the lobby as well. Made eating breakfast a little challenging. When queried, the front desk said they had been trying to locate the source of the stench for a week, but had no luck. The odor did seem to be dissipating before I left or I may have been getting used to it. Hopefully they will find the source of the odor. Otherwise, a very nice hotel with a good staff and I would stay again.
We stayed in the queen extended double suite. My family enjoyed the accommodations and we were able to move around freely without feeling cramped. There was available seating for my little ones to sit and play before our outings The room was exactly as pictured from the website. The hotel staff were friendly. We will be back!!
Very clean and pretty place for Alvin Tx.. I was really happy with the modern feel and layout of the room I stayed in.. The ceilings were like 15 ft tall and the direct tv package was very nice and easy to use. The bed was also really comfortable.. My only complaint is that the air conditioner in the room was fairly loud but not bad... Would stay again in a heartbeat.
We find this Holiday Inn Express to be an ideal distance to the Galveston Cruise Port. It takes approximately 30 - 40 mins to drive to the port on cruise day.Staff are friendly and helpful. We love the China Buffet for an evening meal, opposite Whataburger about 1.5 miles to the right when leaving hotel.Pool construction is currently under way at the hotel, and rooms are being refurbished. Work ends at 6.00 pm and we were not disturbed in any way. This is a clean, comfortable and friendly staffed hotel that we recommend without reservation, having stayed pre cruise several times.Love the spacious rooms!
We stayed here last minute and the room was nice! It was clean and the staff was very professional. The only reason this location did not receive 5 stars is the tbathroom tub had poor drainage. We had to turn the shower on and off in order for it to drain properly. This is nothing some drain-o would not be able to fix :-) If you are in the area, it is worth the stay.
The room we were issued was having some heat issues, I called front desk and we were promptly moved to another room. Beds were so comfortable and room was immaculate and the service was great. Everyone from check in to check out were so friendly. Breakfast was great. We will definitely stay there when we are in the area.
I stay there for weeks at a time and everyone is very helpful and friendly. I have never had a bad experience at this hotel. It is definitely my home away from home. Everyone remembers you and they are knowledgeable about who is staying at the hotel which makes me feel very safe. Had a guests to visit and they stopped them at the front and call me first before allowing anyone to my room. I appreciated this. I would recommend staying here to anyone that is looking for a nice hotel in Alvin.
I selected this hotel last minute when our tournament (Baseball team) got changed to a different location. The staff was able to get us several (8) rooms at a great rate. On Sunday, our boys had to end up playing very early and the staff even accommodated us with early breakfast and a late check-out time so we could shower them post games. WE will for sure be staying here in the future with tournaments in the area.
Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Heavy thunderstorms in the area and she held all Of our luggage til check in and let us check in a few hours early. We travel 2-3 times a month for baseball and this is by far the most comfortable bed! Hotel was under construction but ithat did not have any impact on our stay. Highly recommend this hotel.
This place is great. Not only are the facilities new and clean but the staff is super friendly and the management is engaged with their customers. Ive stayed here at least half a dozen times and will continue to stay here as long as I have business in Alvin.month later edit: the new girl Rachael is amazing. Super friendly and helpful. She reminds me of the smiling girl behind the front desk that is in just about every hotel commercial ever made.
Looked like any other Holiday Inn Express. Friendly staff, clean, good breakfast. The room was nice. Just had big cockroaches. I did not invite them. I did alert the staff and they were very concerned and said they will get their exterminator to take care of it as soon as possible. I was only there for one night so not sure if the issue was taken care of right away. The room was clean though as was the common area.
My family and I loved everything about this stay. The rooms were in exceptional condition, the bathrooms were spotless, the beds were clean, nice, and firm, and the entire staff was very friendly and informative. We will be staying here again when we head back down to the Houston area.
My stay was excellent! Clean hotel and very friendly staff but the first day I arrived it was already dark the lights on the outside of the hotel were still off and it was very dark. We passed the hotel 3 times before we figured out that the Holiday Inn Express was the big very dark building next to La Quinta. You might consider turning your outside lights on a little earlier. Otherwise everything else was excellent and would definitely recommend to someone else and I would stay there again. Thanks for a Great experience.
The facility is nice and clean. We reserved a room with two queen beds about three weeks before our stay. When we arrived we found that someone changed our room to a single king size bed the day of arrival. I was told that there was nothing they could do about the change they didn’t know why our room had been changed so we ended up with the room with the king size bed. I spoke with the manager the next day and was told that there would be a possibility we could get the room with two queen bed’s but she was not sure when. When we came to our room on the second day air bed had been made but the trash had not been emptied and we did not get any clean towels . When we checked out the next day I told the person at the front desk all of this and all they said was I’m sorry but he really didn’t sound all that sincere. All in all We were disappointed with our stay at this holiday inn m. I think some type of compensation could have been made for us .
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here and the friendly staff made it worth the trip. The room was exceptionally clean and the atmosphere was very inviting also. We really enjoyed ourselves and will do it again soon. Thanks a bunch for the experience it was well needed.
My mother is elderly and frail, but doesnt like to admit it. Melissa helped us find a room that my mother could be comfortable in, even though it meant changing rooms after we checked in. Best of all, she made my parents believe that it was perfectly ordinary; she never lost her smile. We will stay here every time we come to the Alvin area!
My extended family had about 15 to 20 rooms at this site as we gathered from across the state to celebrate my nephews wedding. The rehearsal dinner was hosted in the Great Room. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed using the Great Room to visit with family members multiple times during the weekend.Although the pool is a bit cool in October, the children enjoyed playing in the pool.
My stay was fine for the most part. Friendly and helpful staff, and a comfortable bed. But my room was near the elevator and it beeps loud enough that it woke me up multiple times every night. I would stay here again, but I would be more careful with my room selection.
We had a very nice experience at our recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Alvin. I had made a mistake when making my reservation and the front desk staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The hotel and our room were very clean and neat! We definitely appreciated the hot breakfast the next morning. We will definitely stay here again when traveling in this area!
I selected Holiday Inn to take advantage of a few points I collected as well as be close to my daughters dance competition. I made changes to my reservation from standard queen to a queen suite, a week before traveling. Melissa made the change verbally but never sent a confirmation. She also agreed to give me the suite for the same price, because if my Honors account and meeting the group rate deadline of Feb. 1st. Upon my arrival she claimed we never spoke of a change and did not have a suite. I was offered a queen and an air mattress. I traveled with my 77 year old mom and refused to put her or my pregnant daughter on an air mattress. Gratefully she was able to find a suite. I made my reservation with a valid credit card, but did not travel with the same card. When asked to keep the room charges on that card I was denied so my daughter had to pay for one night with cash and we were to pay the next night with cash my husband was to send via cash app to my daughter. When the remainder of the bill was not paid the next morning WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR ROOM when returning from the competition, without being contacted. What poor customer service. I am an educator and have been for over 25 years. I travel for educational conferences All the time. I have never had to pay my balance BEFORE checkout EVER! Especially when making a reservation with a valid credit card in my name. This was the first and last time I will be staying at this Holiday Inn. I am sure she will deny it all, but I have no reason to lie. #dishonestykillsme
Room and service was awesome. Breakfast was great. However at night there qere quite alot of guests staying in the main lobby playing some kind of games. They were yelling and laughing the entire might until around 330 am. I called the front desk and was told that they are regulars who come every Saturday night and so this. Then was asked, at 2am mind you, if i would like to pack all my stuff and get a room further from the lobby. This situation brought this hotel from 5 stars to a 3... Or more deserving a possible 2
My stay was for a wedding and it was perfect. I wasnt able to get the same rate as the wedding party since I was late in booking but the staff helped me out tremendously and was able to get me the best price possible. Exactly what I expected from a Holiday Inn. The room was clean, I was able to get plenty of sleep and I enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.
Room was excellent - large bathroom with great lighting.Hotel was under remodeling but there seemed to be quite a few things that were out of order and not up to HI Express standards. The hot tub had been closed in and removed, the guest laundry on the 2nd floor was out of order, the pool area was not well maintained, and the only working ice machine was by the front desk.
My family and I love it here. Our experience with the hotel has been amazing. We stay here once a week since the last two months however the last time we stayed the hotel didn’t have room on the 1st and 2nd floor. We end up staying on the 1st floor the experience was not the same. Beds were smaller and not as comfortable. Bathroom was smaller suggestion is stay away from 1st floors, highly recommend the suite on the 3rd floor and 2nd floor.
I was in town for a wedding weekend, and all of the guests stayed here. The manager saw to it that everything was perfect for the guests. She was professional, friendly and extremely helpful during the busy weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. The hotel was very clean and pretty too. It was a great gathering place!
Upon entering the facility, I was greeted by two beautiful young ladies at the front desk. It was a pleasant treat to see their smiling faces. The swimming pool needed some cleaning and the pool furniture needs to be replaced as it is old and worn past its time. This is a great place to stay in the Alvin area and is very convenient to access the highway with nearby restaurants and businesses.
The outdoor area needs maintenance attention. You could not print from the computers. A couple of out of order signs that had been there awhile. We could not control the A/C -- it went from very cold to very warm. Two workers in our room measuring for renovations -- they should never be allowed in a room that is occupied.Excellent food, well stocked breakfast items, very clean great room area. Internet is fast and quickly available.
I enjoyed this stay for the most part. Everything was comfortable with the room and the bed was excellent. The room was very clean. What I remember most about this hotel is a simple detail that just really annoys me. I stayed here on business. For what ever reason, I didnt review the bill carefully prior to leaving. A Toll Call charge was added to my bill. The call was a 1-866 phone number which is a toll free call. However, the hotel phone system must be programmed incorrectly. While the amount was small, I was still bothered by the charge and mad at myself for not asking about it at checkout. I called the hotel and the desk clerk stated that 1-866 numbers were in fact toll calls. This of course is not true. Anyway, as a loyal Holiday Inn customer (Platinum IHG member), I expected better customer service. While I wont not recommend this hotel.....just dont expect much from the staff and double check your hotel bill prior to departing.
I had a choice between Holiday inn and La Quinta, next time I will try LaQuinta. This is the first bad experience with holiday in express. The hotel looked new but smelled like dirty smelly socks! The room smelled as well! The doors slam all night and morning, jarring you awake. So close yo the highway you can hear the engines going by! It was miserable!
My stay at the Holiday Inn Express was great. The staff was courteous, the facility was exceptionally clean, the room was so comfortable. Breakfast was hot and there was a large variety of items. The entire hotel area was clean and well kept with lots of parking and easy access.
Very nice hotel, very friendly and accommodating staff. We had free pancakes every night up to midnight, was great, but I think that was just a promotional thing and not offered all the time. The breakfast was good as well with some decent variety thrown in. Good fitness room as well.
Property itself is a great place. However housekeeping service is poor to say the least. I stayed 3 nights, the first two were fine my room appeared to have been serviced. On my last night I had worked late and did not arrive until after 8pm, my room was the same as when I left that morning, trash bins had not been emptied, bed undone, bathroom not cleaned. I called and ask to speak to the night manager, the young lady that answered said she shows the room to have been turned over. I asked to speak to the manager upon checking out, however i was informed she was not in. I let them know about my room not being turned over the night before, the young man gave a a coupon for extra points and told me the manager would be calling me.I have yet to receive a call, I guess its not important to them.
All of the other hotels were completely booked and this hotel had one room left. I was very happy with this choice, room was clean and checking in was a breeze. The breakfast was hot and fresh, overall the staff was very courteous and attentive. I will definitely come back!
Ive stayed here before and they still keep it up. This has been a consistant 5 star hotel since they opened. Still looks new today. Same quality service and professionalism. Learned something new though. Monday,Tuesday and Thursday they serve pizza and beer free. Only 1 problem this time. The tv kept turning off and on every 5 minutes and no sleeep timer.

2022-04-26I had a group of 43 high school students and they were able to quickly get us checked in. I enjoyed hearing from many of the students about how awesome the rooms were. A few of them were able to use the fitness room in the small amount of free time I gave them, and were really impressed that they had actual weights and benches to use instead of just a couple of treadmills like you would see at many other hotels. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, the rooms were super clean and smelled fresh, and the breakfast was amazing. Cant wait to bring my kids back here next year.

2022-01-01I didnt stay here myself, but my mother in law stayed here for a week over the holidays. This review will cover my experience when I was there to pick her up and drop her off. The hotel itself was nice and clean. The housekeeping and maintenance staff are great, their hard work shows by the level of cleaniless I saw each day. The only issue I had was with the front desk staff. No matter what time of day or evening, not only was I ignored by whoever was behind the front desk, but my mother in law rarely was spoken to after the intial check in. This may not seem like an issue for some, but I believe anyone working in hospitality should at least show common courtesy and basic manners. Especially, greeting people as they walk in and responding when someone attempts to greet you. Other than that, if I ever need a hotel in Alvin, Id pick this one.

2021-10-26The room is comfortable and clean as far as we can tell though some would disagree. The bathroom has nice towels and washcloths as well as soaps and shampoo. The caulking around the shower could stand to be redone but not anything to bad. Breakfast is provided and is good in my opinion compared to other places we have stayed, the menu does vary a bit from day to day and I loved the pancakes, it is a self serve pancake machine you just push a button and in about a minute you get two buttermilk pancakes. The breakfast staff was nice and friendly as well as the hotel staff, Pamela is awesome at the front desk and highly recommended if you have any issues during your stay. Parking area is clean and well lit.

2022-04-29I messed up my reservation and Miss Angie at the front desk was able to find me a room in the hotel by getting a room ready that was being worked on previously they really made my trip with my kids wonderful. I was so happy I didnt have to change hotels in the middle of my trip. Ive love the fact that every time I stay at a Holiday inn Express the staff really goes above and beyond. But Miss Angie in Alvin Texas is it true Superstar!

2022-04-28So start with the room size for a King suite was way to small compare to the pictures from the website. The room was clean, the housekeeping staff were all very nice ladies. On the other hand, the personnel for the kitchen were very unprofessional. Sunday morning there was no food available at 9:25 AM, lobby was full of people some eating others waiting for food. I asked the person in charge if there would be more food, which I was told yes, however 3o minutes later there was still no food, by this time the other kitchen lady closed the doors to the kitchen. I will not be coming back. Im a Holiday Inn vacation club owner super disappointed with service, and room size for the amount of money I paid to stay.

2022-03-10I did not stay at the hotel this time. I stopped in to ask a question and Monique at the front desk was amazingly friendly, professional, and helpful. My daughter just moved to Alvin. When my wife and I have a visit with an overnight stay, we will most certainly stay at the Holiday Inn Express. Thank you, Monique!

2022-03-24Positive: Location Negative: We¿ve stayed here 16 times in the last 15 mo. This was the 2nd time the milk was spoiled. We always have to ask the breakfast attendant to warm up our coffee in the microwave. Every time she apologizes and says I keep telling my supervisor that the pot

2022-03-29The place stinks. Horrible service. Hard beds, hard pillows. Same breakfast everyday. Pure garbage. I wouldn’t want me worst enemy to stay here. I literally felt sick during my stay here. Beware for staying here.

2021-10-26Enjoyed our stay very much. Hotel could use some updating, but it is very clean. The staff, especially Sabrina at the front desk, is very helpful and safety conscious. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful, just wish they would leave it out a little longer.

2021-12-01Me and my wife have stayed at this hotel several times. We have family in the area and it is very convenient for us . There are several restaurants close by and a Walmart. The hotel is always clean and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was hot and very good.!
