I HIGHLY suggest people with kids that have disabilities NOT to come here because the manager is so unprofessional yesterday my mom tried to take my little brother who is autistic to see Vemon because he loves marvel & he was being a little loud because he was excited to see Vermont & I understand its a movie theater cant have someone loud but YOU DONT TELL A MOTHER WITH AN AUTISTIC KID TO TELL YOU`RE KID TO SHUT UP like there so many other way to say that not just that the attitude he had with my mother even after knowing he is autistic
I love going to this movie theater they make us feel like were family there is so sweet because theyre always carrying whenever we bring our children with us they always ask if we need anything they always try to help us anyway and its so nice I love to have this where were at is just a perfect home theater like it says
Weve been going to Hometown since we moved into town last year. Hometown is amazing! Ticket prices are affordable and the food and snacks are priced well. Going to the movies is something my family and I have been able to do more frequently now thanks to Hometown. I love coming the Monday after a release with my son because we usually have the whole theater to ourselves. The staff are sweet, friendly, and very helpful. Before we moved here it had been over 5 years since we had seen a movie in a movie theater, but thanks to Hometown Theaters has changed that. We try to go as much as possible and well even see movies multiple times.
This is a nice little theater. They show all the current movies that big theaters do. Their ticket price is also cheap. Matinee is $4.00 (just raised from $3.50 that we enjoyed for a few years) and after 6:00 pm is just $6.00 (kids are still just $4.00). It makes you feel better about being gouged for concessions. We watch about 95% of our movies here (we go to the movies A LOT) and never have any issues.
Love this theater! Its cheap and has a great small town feel. They also recently renovated all the theaters and the difference is AMAZING. Ive always loved this theater, but admittedly, the theaters themselves definitely needed improving and the building seemed kinda run down. The poster displays placed outside the building had their glass broken years ago, and most of the occasionally flashing bulbs were gone or broken, the seats were old and way over used, and though the screens and walls were in great condition, they looked as though they hadnt been renovated in over a decade. Now theres a fresh coat of paint in the halls and entrance, new(and comfy!) theater seats, new curved screens(as opposed to how the screens were previously flat up against the wall), new theater walls, new carpet, completely renovated bathrooms, pretty much everything is new or has been redone. If youve been to this theater before the renovation and were dissatisfied, I would recommend a revisit!Aside from the renovation, this theater has decent priced food and drinks, a couple games you can play before entering the theaters, and great staff. Most importantly to me, the theaters are almost never full, unlike other overpriced theaters that give you the exact same movie experience. The only time a theater is completely full is if youre there the first day/night it comes out.
This place is small but the service is great and the movie prices are always lower then the average theater which is awesome. Once I was here when a really bad storm broke out in the middle of our movie and the lights and movie cut out. They not only let us come back at a later day to rewatch the movie but they also gave us all of our concession snacks free of charge to make up for the power outage. I would definitely recommend this place. π
Great prices for decent screens/sound systems. Tuesdays prices are $3.50, all day long. Tub popcorn is $7.50, and it comes with free refills! Another plus, is the tubs are collectable, albeit plastic, container.*EDIT: Corrected to show more than one refill for popcorn.*
This movie theater really needs some upgrades and some TLC. The lobby is extremely tiny and the popcorn we purchased was stale and of course overpriced like all movie theaters. When we went to the theater to view the movie we bought tickets for, the whole room was warm and muggy. It was the first showing on a Sunday and the theater was just filthy. Drinks and popcorn were everywhere, so obviously no one cleaned the night before or the morning before the showing. The seats are also old and just uncomfortable. I went to this theater at its closer to where I live, however I will continue to take my movie viewing business to Austin were theres freezing cold air conditioning and non-stale popcorn and comfortable seats.
My wife and I have always loved this theater. The new renovations are great, the armrests fold up (depending on the screenroom), the picture quality and sound are state of the art, and its clean. The place is run by locals who know how reputations hold up in a small town, and they do it very well. Midnight releases happen at 7:00 the Thursday of a big release and the crowd at those showings are always enthusiastic as well as respectful. The only beef that Ive ever had is that the nachos are served with the chips in a bag. All things considered, I think that the presentation of the snacks is forgivable.
GREAT small town theater with a nice selection of movies from blockbusters, to family friendly, to sometimes more arty academy award films. The staff is friendly and the place is always clean if albeit a tiny bit run down. I wish theyd fix the gorgeous art deco chandelier, but overall their prices are good, seats are fine and sound and movie quality acceptable!
Its a small town cinema. The projectors are bright and sharp, the sound is clear and precise, the seats are comfortable. The floor slant keeps the people in front of you out of your line of sight. Basic concessions. They get movie specific items. We could have eaten popcorn out of a Chewbacca head if we choose. Prices are good. Youll get popular first run movies, run of the mill stuff.
Go down hill! Ive gone here several times recently with friends and we continually comment about how dirty it is. Easy place to get a seat for a top movie and nicely decorated. Price is right too, but clean it up! Also, I saw a mother in the ladies room trying to change her baby without a changing table present. Of course, they probably dont expect babies to go to the movie, but some do.
Its a nice little small town theater dont get me wrong and its got some of the cheapest movie tickets out there. especially for matinee times. 3.50 opposed to a theater like cinemark that charges over 6. but its a small theater. 5 theaters. the place is in serious need of a upgrade or at least a make over. many of the walls in the auditorium are layered in dust. the carpeting is sooo outdated walls have chipped paint and scratches and the seats themselvws are old and beyond uncomfortable. guess thats why they stay so cheapoverall its a nice place to go. they generally stay up to date on current films the film im seeing today was deadpool two which started late due ro technical difficulties with the projector another thing i guess that needs updatingid still recommend this theater to people lookin for a nice place to a see a film without the large crowds
I love my local Hometown Theater here in Lockhart, TX. I know that sometimes we have to drive out of town if this theater does not carry a movie we want to see, but you just dont get the same customer service as you do in this theater. We love talking to all the young adults that come through there for their summer jobs. The manager is very friendly yet holds to being very professional. Thank you for being of service to our entertainment needs!
We saw 1517 to Paris. Movie was great entertainment and good recreation of the facts of the three American servicemen who took down a Muslim terrorist with 300 round of ammo and an AK-47 preventing a massacre. It wasnt agenda driven or psychological just factual which I found refreshing.
The SOUND was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo LOUD ... it was impossible to enjoy...NOTE TO PROJECTIONIST............. I have an idea those SETTING??? are for a theater FULL OF HUMAN BODIES TO TAKE UP THOSE SOUND WAVES...TURN IT DOWN... there were 10 people in the theater.. the floors and seats VIBRATED... Come on... use your brains..

2022-03-05My favorite theater, Amazing its a place so small yet delivers the same great entertainment value as any big city movie theater. Prices for a movie ticket are great and affordable and just like how movie tickets used to be (food however is a bit more expensive). Its got its small town charm and have made it my go to place to enjoy new movies again and again.

2018-03-15Great price with hometown feel. Its 3.50 for a matinee and 5.50 for evening show. In other words the price is right. You get first show movies and you get to keep your arms and legs. The seats are properly arranged so that the other seats are not in you view. The concession is priced good. Some of the seats have a little wear and tear but theater is clean. It is also wheelchair friendly. I will be back!

2021-10-16Took my family to enjoy a night out. We went to the movies in Lockhart. The movie theater has a weird smell and feels muggy. My son is five years old and has autism. He was talking at the beginning of the movie. Someone complained. Then the manager/supervisor name Art. Came to us and told us that we need to SHUT UP my son. Make him be quiet. I took offense to the way he said I need to SHUT UP my son. I understand people are there to watch the movie. And would had left the theater with mymoney I paid. No problem. But the fact Art told me to SHUT UP my son. What kind of place of business speak to their customers that way.? I was flabbergasted. My son has autism!!! Lockhart movie theater need to train their employees how to speak to their customers. Thank you for ruining my family night!!! Shame on you!!!
