For the past 6 months, my aunt has lived next door to someone who works on machinery inside his apartment (3rd floor). The walls rattle and the floor shakes but the leasing office refuses to address the issue. This is 24-7, not just during the day. The neighbors on the other side and below him have complained but because he’s on subsidized housing (guaranteed money) the office refuses to take control of the issue. They do not care about the seniors who live here. It’s all about the money. Please don’t allow your parents, grandparents or elderly family members live here.

The initial process of applying for an apartment has truly been disappointing and a waste of time. My mother started her application at the end of November. In assisting my mother with trying to get into the apartment, we have dealt with three people and have been given false, misleading information by each person. The staff is not professional when it comes to ensuring that a future resident is informed clearly of what is required. To give a person false hope, youve been approved and actually walking through and viewing the apartment, then weeks later no, youre over the income level, sorry is not the way to do business. After learning today (1/4/2021) that my mother is not approved for the apartment as a result of unprofessional staff and having turned down other opportunities, we now have to start the process all over again.****Reply to Manager******-Carmen. I understand that the state has guidelines. Most communities have guidelines, make 3 times the rent or 2 times the rent. Or with HomeTowne At Matador Ranch, income restrictions to provide affordable rental rates for seniors.I dont understand why this was not disclosed up front. Our visit to the office with Viviana and Laurel, filling out the application, why was this not made clear to us? Did I miss this on your website? I dont understand why my mother called on 12/17/2020 and was told by Laurel, the new leasing agent, Oh, you got the apartment. Instead of admitting, the office needed all her paperwork and more time before a decision is made. Instead, was told the office needed a copy of her award letter. Hmm, something the office should have before telling a future resident she was approved. In her excitement, my mother sent a text message to her sister to tell her she got the apartment. 12/18/2020 I emailed the the award letter, Laurel replied to my email to thank me and said send the last 4 of my mothers payroll statements. Wait, more info the office does not have? Copies of the statements were emailed on 12/21/2020. Laurel called the same day to say the pay statements were not legible, could the originals be brought in. On Tuesday morning, 12/22/2020 my mother brought the copies in and handed them to you, Carmen. After making copies, you, Carmen, then asked my mother if she would like to see the apartment. On the walk over to the apartment, my mother was assured, by you Carmen, that she had the apartment. Upon seeing the apartment, my mother was disappointed that it had a shower and not a bathtub, something that she was assured of by Laurel. You, Carmen, made a phone call, to see if there was an apartment available with a bathroom. There was not. So my mother decided to wait and think about it. She was told by you, Carmen, that it , the apartment, would still be available. My mother called back the next day and decided she would take the apartment, she spoke with Viviana. On 12/30/2020 I spoke with Laurel to see about a possible move-in date. I was put on hold and then told by Laurel I will call you back on Tuesday since the corporate office is closed. Being anxious, my mother decided to call on Monday 1/4/2021 to see about the move in date and spoke with Viviana, who said oh, I was about to call you. Viviana then told her that she made $2,000 too much and could not move in. Wait what?So Carmen, I understand the guidelines. I understand that it takes time for things to be processed. I DO NOT understand why you and your staff that you manage, would give a future resident false and misleading information. It seems that the process was done in reverse, you tell the future reside you are approved, send us your paperwork, youre not approved. In her excitement she orders new pots and pans, towels. Because, after living with her daughter for two years to help out since losing her job, she helped support her daughter and her Autistic grandson, she was finally getting her own place. Help me understand why you and your staff would build someone up to turn around and disappoint them?

First, let my clarify, my intentions are to prepare you, if you want to move here, not to stop you from considering moving here. Yes, the application process is very time consuming, many edits. Its a tax credit, low income apartment. I never saw my apartment until signing the lease. I would never do that before I was on housing. New paint and carpet and surface cleaning. All the cosmetic affects, to fool someone, but no deep cleaning. I made my comments throughout the apartment and asked why it was not properly cleaned. I wiped the bedroom closet shelf and my hand was covered with dust. Their usual housecleaner was out, she said. Many issues. I finally told Viviana All what you are doing is making up excuses. I stopped looking at the details of the apartment as I was so upset. I was trapped!About to sign the lease, I brought up more unsatisfactory issues, (broken draw, etc.) hoping they would fix them all. Viviana exclaimed, Well, are you going to sign the lease or not? No offers to finish the apartment. No offers to come back to sign the lease after the cleaned and made the repairs. I am on housing. There is no way I could find another apartment before the end of the month. I did ask if they could do the repairs and cleaning before I moved in because of COVID. NOT.During the walk-thru, she told me if I ever had a mold problem, they will take care of it. I told them I am positive and allergic for mold, that I needed to move out of an ongoing situation. There is mold in this apartment! They did not clean it!!!I cleaned my old apartment upon move out so thoroughly they waived their mandatory $90 move out cleaning fee, only to move into this. I also paid rent to two places to get out of that environment. And I lost a month in my lease contract so now it expires in December, making it difficult to find another apartment during the holidays.I attempted to clean the mold in the guest bathroom to no avail. Earin came in and removed. I did not realize he was doing this while I was there, so Im breathing in all this crud and got very symptomatic for two days. Not good. One has to leave after scrubbing and spraying a professional cleaner. And they know Im allergic! The molded baseboard has been removed, not replaced. I attempted to clean it before he removed it, but it was mushy. I also asked Viviana if she could have their housecleaner come in and finish up. No, she is not allowed in the apartment afterwards. The stove top was very grimy, especially the knobs, as with the outside cupboards and other areas. Oven cleaner left on in all the corners, edges, basically they just did a quick wipe down. Many repairs have now been done, still more to finish. The only internet service is AT&T. 25 DL & 5UL. VERY SLOW, for my apartment. A neighbor at the other end has sufficient speed. AT&T said the wiring is getting old and the inside wiring will eventually need replacing by management and outside by AT&T. It took AT&T three visits, to do repairs and other issues, not having internet for a week. I got the two bedroom to seek remote jobs and the slow speed is limiting my options. The apartment walls are not that insulated, but the windows and doors are great. The utility closet has the water heater shelved above the dryer, so if you dont have a front loader, you have to bend down and reach underneath with a flashlight or stick-um light to apply the dryer settings. My refrigerator door opens opposite the kitchen direction. Big inconvenience. It is a nice, large refrigerator/freezer with an ice maker. Why did I move here? Being out of town made it very difficult to keep driving to Fort Worth. With Covid, very few apartments were responding to my numerous emails and phone calls, as with this apartment initially. And they still dont return all my phone calls or emails. The staff and maintenance are cordial. Grounds are OK, lots of dogs though, watch your step!

Its an active senior living complex, its quite, you have everything within a short driving distance ( grocery stores, dollar stores,Walmart, gas stations, etc.). For those that no longer drive, the city bus comes right to the front door of the office.
