House of Pizza in other cities:
Limited dine-in is available now.Masks are still requested, and worn by some staff. All orders after 5:45 p.m. must be to go.The House Special Pizza was very tasty and delicious.Carrot cake was moist and tasty with prominent baking spices.Friendly, efficient, busy staff.
Excellent food Excellent service and the prices are still very reasonable for what you get. Glad to see that they are finally open for dine in as Ive been wanting to take my family for a while. A definite must if youve never been and I recommend the Anti-pasta salad w/Italian and the Hot Pastrami sub, those are my go-tos but everything on the menu is delicious.
House of Pizza on Piedras Street is the #1 restaurant in El Paso, the food is fantastic, the restaurant is super clean ,the owner and staff are very polite, respectful and courteous. My family and I have been eating here since it opened in the 70s.I highly recommend H.O.P. ,get a good for a meal for a low price .
Im going through all the reviews and one really stands out to me. I check out hrs of business, especially with covid. I have noticed that your hrs are still the same, which I totally respect. I was on my way to kikis last week and I did see some of your alls guest walking in assuming pick up. So I thought this week Id make the trip to hop from Socorro because I have been craving your alls pizza 🍕 it was 4:45 11/18/2021 and you were closed. All bared up. I already am disappointed that you started closing at 6 a few yrs ago and I understand covid but you replied to a guest your hours of business a month ago or a bit longer. Im confused. Should we call before we even think about making the drive. Yes I know that its take out only but I think I still had time, according to your response to a review and hrs posted.Just a little sad and disappointed 🙁
Love this place. If you love pizza, whether your visiting or your a local, this is the spot. If you wanna pass on the pizza, try their pastrami sandwich. However they do sell out occasionally on the sandwich. Hands down best pizza in El Paso. 2 locations out here. However, my advice is call before going. Sometimes they don’t even stay opened until their scheduled closing time. That’s why I’d take half a star away from them.
Holy son of a motherless goat! Food here is AMAZING! I hadnt tried this place out until today (4/17/21) and cheese and crackers, why did I wait so long?! *slaps forehead* Ordered the lasagna plate and a specialty pizza and WOW! My complaint is that there isnt one closer to me (far east) but totally worth the drive. Buuuuuuut one on the far east would be awesome. *wink wink; nudge nudge*
Best pizza in town! Fantastic lunch spot, they do have weird hours but its worth it. They dont hold back on toppings and the pizza is always extra cheesey! Their subs are also amazing and the lasagna is to die for! Their small sub pasta plates can easily feed 2. Love, love, love this place!
Love this place. Love their pizza. I ordered a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Always served hot by a delightful server with a good attitude. Ive had their pastrami sandwich and their pastas and salads. Im never disappointed. Their only shortcoming is they made a change to their schedule they shortened their hours til 6 instead of 8 and still closed Sunday and Monday.
We went to the Piedras location. The place is right next to an Alon Gas Station. If youre coming from the west side, youll easily see a huge wall of Our Lady of Guadalupe mural with the House of Pizza name from afar. There is available street parking surrounding the establishment, but easily gets filled up and so can still be challenging. The place has 3 dining sections, which I though is pretty huge for what it is. The place got busy fast shortly after we arrived. It was a late Saturday afternoon, so I dont know if it had something to do with that.We had a medium House Special Pizza, small Pepperoni Pizza and Lasagna. This place is often compared with the The Pizza Joint, and while I thought their pizza wasnt bad, I like the thin crust of The Pizza Joint better but I like how this place has more to offer other than pizza and I must say I definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients on our House Special Pizza. As for the lasagna, I thought it was a decent serving size and good---we all did. I would like to come back to try their Spaghetti with Meatballs and maybe one of their subs.Service was good. You take your order slip up to the counter once youre ready to pay. This place is CASH ONLY basis. For those who didnt know that, they have an ATM on site for your convenience. They close at 6 PM, so all orders by 545 PM are for take-out. I like to support local businesses and this one definitely deserves the patronage it is getting.
Wow first time here and I am extremely satisfied! Went with the whole gang so had a wide range to taste from. We had a house pizza, a pepperoni pizza, pepperoni and mushrooms pizza, a salad and a meatball sandwich. The salad was mostly ranch and lettuce but my goodness everything else was delicious. The crystal was nice and crispy not to thick. The sauce is very well done. My meatball sub was very good.i plan on going back again. Just know that it is cash only they do not take credit cards so as long as you have cash before it will be a great experience.
Always Excellent Service, and the friendly faces of the staff and owner, make this an AWESOME place to share a meal with friends and family. Not to mention the BEST PASTRAMI SANDWICH in the STATE OF TEXAS! I have been eating here for well over 20 years, and Im never disappointed! Love, love, love THE HOUSE OF PIZZA!
Its funny I lived a block away since they opened and never tried it. Years later I come back and take the family and can honestly say its one of best pizza places in town. Good service, good food. Pizza is delicious. Great pasta. Good service. Little hole in the wall waiting to be discovered.
Amazing food! My husband and I love ordering the house special pizza for a date night. It has incredible taste and the ingredients are on point. The pizza doesnt get soggy regardless of the amount of toppings which is always a plus. Other than thr pizza, Ive tried the lasagna and it is good; not mind blowing, but still good. The staff here are always in a good mood consequently the environment is very positive and welcoming. I recommend this place if youre looking for a good tasting pizza at a fair price!
I grew up in the NE and was in Chicago. Except for the new govt social controls on trans fat when cheese was real cheese (not damn plasticizers), this place reminds me of pizza back then. Delicious, served fast, good friendly service and a good restaurant atmosphere its great place for family and friends. Closed in July until August 2019, though for vacation which is cool. Ill be back there in August!
This place is pretty well known locally. The pizza is very good and well made. They dont cheat on the toppings. Very cheesy and meat and great ingredients. The spaghetti is also very delicious and hearty. The salads are also very filling and good. Really good ranch dressing! I always forget they dont take debit though. CASH ONLY! They do have an ATM inside which is weird because if you have an ATM, why not have a credit/debit card machine... So I had to walk to the 7-11 store down the street cause who wants to pay fees to take out your own money... Right! So pizza good, cash only not so good. Oh, and the service is really good! Theyre constantly asking if everything is ok... Like literally every 4 minutes....
Been a customer for over 30 years. Best pastrami sandwich anywhere. You better be hungry when ordering any large sandwich, they are a foot long and packed with plenty of meat. When you pick one up to take a bite you’ll swear they weigh 2 lbs. The large portion of the spaghetti and meatballs will feed 3. Paul the owner is from Boston, and his Pizza has that east coast style and taste, but unless you’ve actually tasted east coast pizza you don’t know what I’m talking about. The best way to describe it is, Pizza Hut is fake Pizza and until you’ve actually tasted an east coast pizza you haven’t tasted good pizza. Here you will taste not only good pizza but outstanding great pizza. I’m addicted to the pastrami sandwich here, I pick one up at least 3 times a week.
Im huge on pizza and only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was knowing how to cook from scratch myself and pizza being one of my favorite things to make its hard to find pizza thats just as good if not bettet than my own, but honestly it was Amazingly close. ***** ill put yall 5 stars down here tho good job excellent and wonderful pizza 🍕
I called them at 530 thursday but they did not answer the phone...I stopped by at 550..and was told by an employee that they stopped taking orders at 545...a lady comes up front and I am not exaggerating felt like I was being scolded and confronted...I tried telling her I was trying to call since 530 but wouldnt hear of it and continued her negative attitude....and just to say...I am not exaggerating this situation....its fine to be so popular ect....but if you abuse that by negative behavior on the part of the business...anybody can fail
2 OF MY 3 FAVOURITE P THINGS TO EAT..PIZZA AND PASTRAMI..WE ALL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE 3RD P IS..PASTA IS EXCELLENT BUT NOT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE!! NICE PLACE,NICE ATMOSPHERE AND REALLY GOOD FOOD!!IVE BEEN GETTING MY GRUB ON WITH A PASSION SINCE THE 80S...AND COUNTING!!
I use to visit with my friends from Channel 9 back when I use to work in El Paso in 1996-97, we loved going here for our weekly HOP NIGHTS. How I miss those friends and how I miss this place. Best Pizza in town. Hands down. Five Yummy faces 😋😋 😋😋😋 from me. A definite must when youre in El Chuco.💓 Even after all these years, I can still taste the pizza. Ill see you guys soon on my stop in December! 👐👍
We LOVE House of Pizza! Be prepared for the greasy and extra cheesy pizza pies. We never put toppings because the plain pies are so good. Theyre our runner-up for Grimaldis in our area for the best pizza. They have a thicker crust but because of how cheesy it is it balances it out. The people there are always so kind and we always get the best service. Its a real Mom & Pop Shop.
Bring cash or check.Go. Order anything. It’ll be delicious. The pizzas are thin and crispy, the lasagna is saucy and cheesy, the sandwiches are MEATY. Their salads can feed a family of four. Their prices are reasonable. Parking can be an issue, but worth hunting for it.
The pizza is great like everyone else is saying, but I made a critical mistake and went for a meatball sandwich the last time I visited. Not only did it take forever to get to me (my friends were halfway thru there meal) but its so plain in its taste I thought to myself Man I should have just gotten a Subway meatball sub instead. Im still giving this place a four star review for the pizza, but Ill never get anything else here again.
Not bad but expected a bit more after reading all the reviews. They only take cash so that was also a problem as I usually only carry a few bills on me. Not bad if Im in the area but wouldnt make the drive otherwise. One complaint was that the Pizza was extremely oily, way past what you would expect.
Pizza is delicious and subs were super tasty. However, service is slow and the place is dirty. I have not been here in a while and probably will not return. I recommend the food but perhaps take it to go. It may even taste better in a cleaner environment! I would love to hear other experiences.
I bought their specialty pizza. The largest one. 25 bucks. I am from Chicago (known for great pizza) and have traveled many places. I dont know how people can say their pizza is all that great. I was not impressed at all whatsoever. Plus I didnt want onions. I got tons of onions. I will never buy their pizza again.
I work at Austin and grateful that this place is so close. I can order over the phone and pick up fast. I am most impressed with the quality of the food but also impressed when I pick up because of the way things are packaged and how they think of everything. True gem!
The pizzas here are made to order, only incorporating the most simple and fresh ingredients. The pizza crust is fluffy and seasoned well. The marinara and cheese tastes similar to the recipe youd find in a pizzeria from Chicago or New York. Do not arrive just before closing time, because final orders are taken 30 minutes before closing. Have cash on hand. If you dont, there is a gas station next door and you can hop over to use the ATM. The staff was not very warm and welcoming, but their food is great, I can overlook only a few points for service quality.
I have always loved eating here because food is great but the other day come for a bite to eat just before 6pm and was unaware that their hours had changed because there was no notifications stating the change on the business during closing hours on prior days. Well, anyways I was turned away by the waitress saying that they close at 6pm (not 6pm yet) and she gave a paper saying Starting August 1st hours are 10am-6pm and went on to say that you can place your order but you cant dine in but can take it out. While there, 4 other parties of people arrived they too where turned away and given the same paper.
Pastrami subs are the top sellers, but the pizza is delicious. Unfortunately I compare their subs and pizza to all other pizza and subs and havent found one that tops them! The owners are also extremely great people, definitely a wonderful, family oriented restaurant!
If you crave them in the summer:**They CLOSE for vacation every year. They are closed from July 1 - August 6.**The rest of the year you can find...Great tasting pizza, lazagna/spaghetti, garlic bread, hot subs, salads, beer, good service, CASH ONLY (who has checks for pizza?), there is an ATM inside near their clean, spacy restrooms (womens at least). For me, it is worth the drive from the west side!
Service leaves alot to be desired. Our waitress had an attitude, when we asked her to give us a minute to look at menu, she gave us 20, until we asked another waitress to take our order. People walking in after us served first. Simple pizza lunch took over an hour. Management do something about your staff. They are there to service your customers, Im a friendly and timely manner. Ive heard the new Westside place is having same issues. Bad service comments travel fast...
I found about this place because I had to inspect it for work. At first, it seemed a little hole-in-the-wall-ish until I went to the kitchen area. It was absolutely spotless! I’ve never seen such a clean kitchen. Alright so I knew I had to come back because it actually smelled pretty good too. Not surprisingly, the pizza was scrumptious with excellent sauce and ingredients. My nose crinkled and I let out a Mmm with every bite. Bring your stretchy pants and cash or check - no CC accepted.
The pizza quality at this exact location is going down, I dont know whats going on with the people who make the pizza but they need need to step it up at this location. Only go here if you like super greasy pizza with the cheese falling off(in a bad way). House of pizza downtown has a higher quality pizza making staff, good luck!
Ordered a pizza for delivery st approx. 1000-1030, ETA was 1120pm, midnight called and representative stated Its simple do you want the pizza or not? An hour and a half with remaining 20 more minutes for delivery!!! NO THANKS!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! P.S. dont speak to customers like that!!!!
I had never been here before, food was good. My mother enjoyed it also. The only thing that bothered me was that our waitress brought us a to go container and the bill before I even asked for it. If its one thing that irks me is this exact thing. We were not ready to go! I will not return. Our visit was today, Sept 16th at 11am, dont remember the servers name, she was nice, she was anglo but I just cant stand it when this sort of thing happens. Will give my business to Ardovinos in North Hills instead.
Amazing service my food always taste amazing, even as leftovers the next day... food reasonable priced considered price, taste, and quality. I live in Austin, Tx and come out to El Paso to visit family and this is always a must goto before going back home! 10/10 would recommend to others.
Good food, okay service & pizza quality has gone down lately but this is the most important part. When they start to close, they have someone at the door letting people out. Its normal you when you close a restaurant. Thats fine but my family and i were sitting at the table when you walk right in. The thing is....she WAITS THERE. THE WHOOOOOOOOOOLE TIME. WATCHING YOU EAT. Kind of like they want you to hurry up and finish. Uggh, I thought I was over thinking it but my gut kept telling me why is she still standing there. People are still eating in the booths and she just.....stood her ground. I jus didnt like that she jus waits there, watching you; till you finish. Please dont sit by the entrance if you dont want HER.... to WATCH you eat.
Food deserves a 5. .. but servers deserve a 2. New girl made a simple mistake. ..but the veterans betated her in front of everyone and continues to talk to a neighboring table with unkind language. I told one of the ladies that unless the people at the table were the owners it was none of their business. Be kind and teach. .. mistakes happen. ..it will be the last time she makes that mistake.

2022-05-06Aloha; while in this area I had the hardest time finding a great pizza place. But this little whole in the wall was amazing. They had the best pastrami sandwhich, lasagna and pizza. You have to attempt to make it to this wonderful small place, with great smiling staff.

2022-04-27My family and I have been coming here for years. The pizzas are genuinely good. Not greasy, extra cheesy, fairly priced with a great selection of toppings. Most pizzas will run you about 13 to 14 dollars for a large single topping. They are so good I cannot encourage you try it enough! Seriously go!!!

2022-06-11A little cheaper prices and better service for the same menu just a little further down the road at a place called “Casa Pizza”Food is decent. A little overpriced for what it is but what really makes my review so low for this restaurant is the servers. They always seem to have an attitude that they do not want to be there and it’s very obvious. It feels as if they just want to be in the take out business. Also I dislike that they do not accept credit cards. This is shady since on their taxes they can falsify income.

2022-06-17I have been living in El Paso for 7 years and never heard from this place... And I have missed a lot. The pizza is good but I loved the lasagna. Next time I will try one of the hot subs.P.S. Do not forget to take cash

2022-06-12Best in town and they are always so sweet. As soon as I walk in the door she says Ms. Pierce is here then has my pizza ready to go, hands it to me with a smile on her face and tells me to say hi to my mom for her. Such a sweet lady.

2022-05-18Such a cute place, I ate a salad, being diabetic, but I heard from so many people the food is great. The pizzas & subs looked amazing. Only thing, you have to pay in cash only. 🤷♀️

2022-06-06The pizza wasnt bad, but definately not great, I have had much better. Add to that, they close their door to dine in customers at 530 and just stop letting people in even though they are open to 6. Its just worth it to go other places
