My wife, daughter and I were heading to a concert at the event center and wanted to grab a bite to eat first. We are always up for trying something new and break away from the long list of normal chain restaurants. It was for sure a bar, that served food. Kinda like a BJ Brewhouse or similar to that. The food was good but not great. We ordered the loaded cheese fries and it had that disgusting carnival liquid cheese that seemed to have been watered down even more. Just not good. The other stuff was okay, but it all tasted like prepackaged, frozen and reheat type of stuff. The only only thing that wasnt was of course the fresh veggies and the bread for my sandwich...If I had a few drinks and was just needing some grub to eat while I drank, i would give them the same ranking. Just not my cup of tea.
I worked with one of the managers, Victoria, to plan a surprise birthday party for my MIL. Victoria helped me customize a menu for the party, kept in constant communication with me and everything worked out perfectly! The food was amazing (still thinking about that fried okra), the wine was great and the service was on point. Thank you to the Kellys team and management! We will absolutely be back 👏🏼👏🏼
I thought this place was OK! The service was quick and friendly, and the portion sizes were great. I enjoyed the laid back vibe and open seating outside. The main thing that detracted from my experience was the smell of cigarette smoke since patrons are allowed to smoke on the patio. I regret not reading the reviews before eating here, because there is a disturbing pattern in the race of the customers who received bad service and disrespectful review responses from the owner.
Nice bar and grill. Unfortunately a very rude waitress is costing them a bad review. Im sure they know whos she is, on shift now, red tattoo behind the ear. Shes quite proud of her attitude. Im not the type to request a refund so hopefully this review will get managements attention. Cheers.
Great food. Great service. EVERY time. We love Kellys. It doesnt hurt that they have an amazing draft beer selection and the amazing Briquet Chips appetizer. If you havent been to Kellys at the Village youre missing out on one of Allens best casual dining locations. Huge burgers. Tons of beer. Delicious salads, salmon, AND BBQ.
First time ever coming here, and let me just say I wish I found this place sooner (even though I lived in allen for 13 years now) everything from the waitstaff to the food was excellent, wr ordered the BBQ plate, Steak Fingers, and the breakfast tacos and it was all amazing. We’ll definitely come back.
For a brunch menu they played very loud music where you could barely hear yourself talk. It was obnoxious.😒🤷♂️ When we asked the waitress if they could please turn it down, she was a bit non plus And explain that some person had asked for the music to be turned up.😒 The egg white omelet I had was good. Quite frankly Im happy that I didnt have to pay for the service or for the meal and somebody else paid for it.🤷Your music was obnoxiously loud the whole time!.Your reaction to my review, annoyed you the owner. It compelled you to lecture me about the how the dynamic of your business works rather than being proactive. Thats arrogance. You should never let your ego, guide your response. Attitude is 99% of what youre in control of, Cheers!😹
Dry...on the menu there is Meat Loaf W/Pan Gravy, well when it gets to your table, we were informed, it doesnt really come with gravy...or was the gravy just reduced down because it was over cooked? Had to ask for a side of brown gravy, it was eh, should have used ketchup. Couldnt finish it, and I really tried, LOL. The chicken strip as well as the chicken sandwich were over cooked (will post pics). We had to take the breading off so our son could eat it. The chicken tenders our daughter only managed to eat one (she did say they had good ketchup). The chicken fried steak was actually pretty good. So yes dry overcooked food and over priced for what was served.Edit: I guess the response to the reivew was standard PR spin, as I did email with no response back...imagine that.
Went to a Celebration of Life for a fallen friend that was held at the private room at Kellys. Their staff was exceptionally helpful preparing the room, keeping food available and filling drink orders. It was a very good experience and kudos to Kellys and their staff.
Kellys has great food. The Chicken fried chicken was so delicious and it was a huge portion which was enough for two people. The onion rings were good. The mac & cheese is so creamy with lots of cheese and topped with bacon bits. The carrot cake will definitely bring me back. Overall great dining experience. Danielle was my server and she is awesome. #Kellys #DanielleIsAmazing #GreatStaff #GreatFood #ChickenFriedChicken #CarrotCakeIsDelicious #Kellys
This place is very good. Wait. No. Its awesome! The food is really tasty and the staff was very attentive.I had a very long day and I just needed a place to wind down. I had the shrimp and grits and some appetizers. Yes! The food was awesome!I cannot wait to come back here!Update: I added more photos of the burgers we ate. Both were delicious.
It was packed and the hostes was rude. And just because the hostess is 16 she shouldnt be rude. I thought maybe because it was packed thats why she was rude. But thats not the first time Ive been there they are always rude. Never ate there because everytime I go the hostess are rude. But thats ok because the owner thinks its ok for them to be rude.
We came here before an Allen Americans hockey game for a few beers and a quick bite. The food was tasty and the beer was good. The service was a little slow, I don’t know if it was because they were crowded before the game or not but they seemed short staffed. It was still a good visit and definitely a good place to hit for beers before a game. Definitely would come back
2 stars for the heavy pour on my Moscow mule. Zero stars for service. Ordered a mule and then apparently I turned into a ghost. No one acknowledged me again until I tossed my credit card to tab out. I wanted to order some food and more drinks and really get to know the place. Ive heard a lot about it and decided to try it out. This crew blew it. I wont be coming back. Im sure theyve got a good atmosphere and food. A great assortment of brew in tap. But hey, if you walk past someone at the bar 8 times and dont at least say, how you doing or need anything, you lose my business. Hope this isnt a trend or common practice. Maybe I should give them the benefit of doubt? Maybe not. Service 101 says acknowledge your customer. Just my thoughts
Nice atmosphere near the Allen Event Center. Great for a pre-game drink or dinner before an Allen Americans game. BBQ stuffed chili relleno is delicious. Brisket enchiladas are worth the trip. Brisket on the BBQ plate is occasionally dry, but the 58 beers on tap will fix that. Staff is relatively knowledgeable on the beer selection. A full bar is also available.
We needed a late night place to grab a bite, and Kellys seemed like a good option. We had never been there before. They had a sign on the door saying you had the choice of whether or not you wanted to wear a mask which was interesting, you dont see that often but its certainly up to the business. The environment and atmosphere was cool, kind of like a burgers and beers type place. Our server said there was something like 50 beers on tap so theres a lot to try. We got various items from the menu, the baskets of fries are huge and could easily be shared among like four people if they all just wanted a side of fries. But most meals come with some sort of side anyway. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and it wasnt quite what I was expecting. The menu had cheese, pulled pork, chicken, or steak enchiladas, and when you get an enchilada you expect the meat to be inside the tortilla with the cheese and whatever else, but instead it was three cheese enchiladas with a sliced chicken breast on top. So it seems like they have just a ton of cheese enchiladas and theyll add whatever meat to the top instead of making the enchiladas fresh and adding the meat to the inside. As the food sort of cooled off, the cheese became sort of firm on the inside so Im not sure these are freshly made but may have come from a frozen package? The chicken breast wasnt super high quality, it was pretty flat and sort of pale. Anyway, Im not sure tossing a sliced chicken breast on top was worth the extra $3 over just a regular cheese enchiladas. But it did come with a side of chips and queso which was cool. It still tasted fine but just sort of not what I was expecting ordering enchiladas. But the server was really friendly, the place was open late, the atmosphere was pretty cool like a sports bar, so this place has a lot of stuff going for it, and I think some of the burgers and stuff my friends got were great.
Drinks and sandwiches were very, very good and the service was excellent! But I probably wont order the french fries next time. Nice, friendly atmosphere. Somehow we (all 3 of us) missed the front door coming in, it is before the patio. And we hadnt even been drinking yet.
I used to love this place, but had a really bad experience on Fathers Day. We made reservations for brunch - were not told in advance that it was buffet only. The young lady that made the reservation was actually the very best part of the experience as she made room for us at a convenient time. The food however - was simply awful. ice cold buns for the sliders, gravy that had been extremely watered down - i guess to save money?....the list goes on and on - really disappointed. The food was so subpar for a place that usually serves a great dish. Will be awhile before we go back here.
The good: You seat yourself; Kellys has a large covered patio and inside a good mix of high-tops, regular tables, and booths. The beer menu is fantastic, lots of draft beer wed never tried before. The food menu has a nice variety of entrees, including some healthier options. The annoying: Maybe we arrived during a shift change, but we had three different servers, and they all screwed up our orders. One asked if I wanted my drink tall or short, I said tall. She brought me a short drink. At least I was charged appropriately. We asked for regular ranch with our appetizer instead of jalapeño, they brought jalapeño. Ordered a medium rare burger, it was well done. The food tasted good and we were really hungry, so just went with it.We still would have walked away feeling positive overall, except for our bill. My husband had ordered a beer the server wasnt familiar with, so when she brought his glass, she told us she had tried a sample and it was really good. Cool, nice endorsement. The bill amount looked about right, so gave her the card. Taking a closer look, though, she had charged us for the sample she decided to get! When we pointed it out, she said it was an oversight, and she had forgotten to split it off of our bill, we could just deduct the amount from her tip.The restaurant wasnt even half full while we were there, and there seemed to be lots of servers. So even though they were all friendly and brought our food quickly, we were disappointed by lack of attention to detail.
Service is excellent. The bartenders are all top-notch and theres a reason this place has so many regulars. Consistently good drinks and food that caters to both quality and quantity, you cant go wrong. If youre looking for a new bar/restaurant, this is a place that deserves a shot.
Honestly can’t give a review of the food. My wife & I were never seated. The hostesses were dry, off putting, & somewhat rude. The check in process was disorganized & confusing. The restaurant only appeared to be a little bit over half capacity but for some reason we were asked if we could “keep our visit at an hour in order to be seated?” We just walked out at that point. As an African American couple we did not feel very welcomed in this establishment. It should also be noted that none of the staff were wearing face masks. Judging by some of the colorful and rather eccentric responses to reviews by the owner, it doesn’t take alot to guess the culture of this establishment. Will not be attempting to go back any time soon.
Great venue. The wife ordered the turkey burger and the meat itself seemed like it either partially raw some type of turkey loaf rather than a burger. My wife couldnt make it more than a couple bites and then when I tried I actually began feeling physically ill after only a couple chews. I ordered the shrimp and grits. That dish was delicious however a bit too much cheese for my taste. The service was great and friendly. The wife doesnt want to go back after the experience with her turkey, but I think it is worth another visit for sure.
Not sure why all the good reviews, it was just “okay” for us. The fried pickles were wonderful so was the ranch but that’s about it. The atmosphere felt very judgmental if your Someone of color. (Also FREEZING COLD IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN)The meat WASNT cooked all the way so we ended up not eating. For $90 bucks it wasn’t worth it for us. We are a family of a particular taste... unfortunately this wasn’t up to par. Still left a nice tip but won’t be going back.
Always love coming here. There food is on point 👌 and their bartenders know how to make great drinks! 🙌🧉🍹🍺🍻🍷🍸Ive had items from both their brunch and dinner menus and Ive been pleasantly satisfied every time! Service is always friendly and helpful. I always feel welcomed and greeted. 🙋♂️🙋♀️💁♂️💁♀️Theyve stayed strong through this pandemic, and Im so glad they didnt go out of business. Its one of my favorites in the Allen/Fairview area!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Awesome place! I was wary when I saw it was a tavern, considering that I rarely drink, but that didnt matter at all. The service was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was fun but not overly loud or anything like that, and the food was divine. I had been craving a blue cheese wedge salad and theirs is really good. We were from out of town and if we get to come back, I will definitely come back to this place, as well. Great overall experience, would definitely recommend to anyone, drinker or not.
Good food and excellent service. The brisket and queso stuffed jalapenos were spot on. The chicken fried steak dinner was really good. The server was good at being available without being pushy. I was there for work and was dining alone. Im accustomed to sometimes being rushed on work trips when dining alone despite tipping as good or better than larger tables. The server did not pressure me and I appreciated it.
First time at this place. The breakfast tacos are AMAZING! I ate my order, and decided to get a 2nd order to bring home. I live far away. But will most likely be stopping by for to-go when Im in the area. Service was great too for the large party of about 20 people that we had.
We came here because I wanted a burger and found so much more! Craft beers, atmosphere, and wonderful food! We enjoyed it so much we brought our friend here for dinner the next night, too. My spouse had the brisket and I had the chicken fried chicken. Such a treat! We will be going back here when we return to Texas to visit family! Don’t forget the appetizers!
I love that they give their staff and people freedom to choose to wear a mask or not! Definitely how it should be everywhere! The queso and fried mushrooms were good but the reason for the 3 stars is my chicken fried steak on the outside was burnt and tasted like it and the mashed potatoes were cold! I also ordered cream corn and it wasn’t cream corn it’s more of a whole kernel corn in a watery liquid it was not good! My child’s chicken fingers on the outside were also burnt and he wouldn’t touch them!
I was surprised at the portion sizes. I got a salad and it was huge. Which was a plus plus for me. And it was delicious. My wife and I just ordered from them yesterday as well and it was good as well. My only complaint per se is that the meat in my sloppy joe was bland and relatively dry. I expected it to be saucy and flavorful. The sandwich wasn’t an entire dud though so if I could I’d give 3 1/2 but don’t feel bad about a 4.
Ordered delivery today. The chicken fried steak and sliders were decent, not great. The green beans were fresh, crispy and tasty! The okra was undercooked for my liking. I would have preferred that they were more crispy (maybe the fryer was not hot enough?). The mac and cheese side dish was tasty, but way overpriced for the serving size. To pay $7 for a 3-4 oz serving of noodles and cheese is a bit overpriced. I was expecting twice as much for a shareable side dish. The chocolate chip cookie was OK, but just average.
Eggs over poached to wear they are hard boiled, burnt over fried potatoes, grits that had sat too long and became like glue. Would’ve sent it back but our server didn’t come back for like twenty minutes even after we ordered a drink when we got the food. I watched it sit there at the bar with an inch of water at the top. They served it to us anyways. Also no one wears a mask and all the tables are so close you can touch the guests next to you. I should’ve left when I got there but was really hungry. I left that way as well. Also to the manager, don’t leave a response saying it is easy to overpoach eggs. Own it. Your chef sent that out knowing it was bad. Take some pride in your food.
When I order out from Here I have no issues, but for whatever reason when I come in I always have an issue. When I go to the bar I’m ignored and when I seat myself I’m walked by multiple times before someone thinks to stop to ask if I’ve been helped. EVERYTIME I come into the restaurant. I’m not sure why, but it literally just happened yet again today. Now that I know there’s another location I’ll try that one out. This is me saying it nicely, but I’m sure I know what the issue is.
Ive been here several times now. Ive had exceptional service each and every time. Always good food and very attentive. The biggest problem is getting a seat at times because they are very busy. Even at peak hours the staff here is better than most other places at their slow times. Never disappoints
Best, safest date place ever but not for a reason you’d expect. In addition to great food (get the brisket chips), drinks and service-as if that wasn’t reason enough-there’s a sign in the women’s bathroom that gives information for women that feel like if they are in a dangerous situation, they can go to the bar and order an angel shot and they’ll discreetly help you. I’ve never seen that before and I applaud and honor their commitment to safety and for going above and beyond.
The air about the place is somewhat of a superiority attitude, if you catch my drift...From the wait staff to the tenders of the bar. Mind yourself and dont step out of line. Prices are what they are. They do offer up some things that deserve recognition like good IPA, You get what you order and thats it. I WANT MORE!
We just finished up a rehearsal dinner at Kelly’s. Josh, Andrew and Tyler took care of our wedding party of 45 effortlessly. I messaged Josh on the way to Kelly’s to let him know we were on our way. The kitchen staff did wonderful and had the brisket chips out right after we arrived. I stressed I didn’t want a lot of waiting around or down time. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The waitstaff excelled. The food was served very quickly for the amount of people. We previously heard about Kellty’s at a wedding planning event Josh attended. We will be recommending them to all our friends and family. Thankful for such a stress free fun event! They take care of everything! Thanks to Shoshone, Andrew and Tyler for an amazing rehearsal dinner.
Very nice place, great menu, food is always great, and were not uncomfortable if were a little casually dressed when we go. Went for lunch, again, and wasnt let down. Food was great, service was great, no one rushed us to leave after we paid our bill. Always dependable for a great dining experience.#SweepstakesEntry
The food was not good and cold overpriced and the waitress was not good and the other waitresses were rude as well the kitchen needed cleaning due to the fact you could see inside of it as you pass by and the restroom could have used some cleaning as well really disappointed now i understand why they had tables available and everywhere else didnt. I only gave 2 stars because we was able to get a table
Worst food in the DFW area. Anticipating a delightful lunch with my family based off of the rave reviews, very disappointed. I knew I was in trouble when the chicken fried steak was described as a patty, thats partially my bad. We started with the Brisket and cheese that was undesirable to say the least, leftover scraps in a separated cheese sauce for nearly 14 dollars was a bad start but I still had high hopes, perhaps just a flub on this appetizer. When the chicken fried steak and ice cream scoop of mashed potatos arrived, the despair had set in, the moment I attempted to cut into the patty, all of the breading poofed up the rest of the breading. Likely sourcing the meat from the Wa*mart discount and almost expired bin, it was terrible, chewy and had a complete lack of seasoning. The prices this establishment charges makes you think wow those are high prices, must be great. Its not great, its terrible, Gordon Ramsay probably is in need of making this location his next save. Servers on the other hand were very nice.
This has been a continuous date night spot for my boyfriend and I. Everything we have had on the menu has been super delicious. Due to covid we hadnt gone back in a while but finally ordered it to go tonight. Great decision! Even after the ride home our the food was awesome!
Had a great meal and great service. Chicken fried steak was really good. Gravy was lacking and needed more. The mac n cheese and fries were both great sides and seasoned well. The adult grilled cheese sandwich with pulled pork was fantastic. Great flavor all around.1 down side is smoking is aloud on the patio. Bummer when dining outside
My husband and I’ve been ordering our favorite Chicken fried steak sliders with mashed potatoes and gravy on them for years. They’ve always been amazing, up until this pandemic. We order ALL of our meals to-go, and have noticed basically every single restaurant these days have really had to make major changes. Which, I totally get it. The ones who are open are lucky to be open period right now. So I shouldn’t be so critical. BUT... if they have to cut corners SO MUCH that it literally destroys the actual tastes of the menu items, then they have a serious issue on their hands. Our little Hawaiian buns are normally always so fresh, fluffy, sweet, & good. Not now. Omg. They’re so stale and hard, they’re like hockey pucks! Ewww. We always order without the pickle, as it always made the buns soggy. But this time my husband got confused and ordered the mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Big mistake. We got a teeny tiny little cup of a hard BALL of gross potatoes with a couple of drops of gravy? Definitely NOT near enough to put the sliders back together like the NORMAL ones USED to be like!Also- they used to put BIG HUGE & delicious fried onion rings in the meal. Boy have they skimped on those TOO!! Little bitty onion rings that aren’t even thoroughly cooked. Thick & goopy batter, with a thick & CRUNCHY onion inside.Talk about a huge disappointment. That makes every single meal we’ve had this past week, a huge wake up call for us. It should be for everyone else too, who’s reading this! What is going ON?! This is completely insane. I know it’s not just us either... I’ve had several friends say they’ve also noticed their fave restaurants have also gone to hell. Doesn’t matter if it’s a 5* steakhouse or a $5 burger house. It’s gonna taste “different” & NOT the same as it once was, pre-COVID! Sucks.
Not bad food, but for the price I would have liked better. I had BBQ, brisket an turkey. Gave the turkey to my dog, she liked it. Both wife and I didnt care for it. She got the fajita plate. She also said was alright. My boy got the chicken an waffles, was good but chicken dry. Drinks? Perfect. So want a place to have a few drinks and watch a game? Perfect. Enjoy.
Great food and rotating beer selections. The customer service here is top notch. Waitstaff can be hit or miss, but most of the time they are good. We once experienced a problem with our waiter who was very inattentive and out of it. Come to find out he had shown up late that day and already received one complaint from another table. Management fired him on the spot, offered to pay for our meal, AND gave us a gift card to use on our next visit. Talk about fixing a bad situation! Ive also had good experience here placing to-go orders and am very impressed with the packaging and overall attention to detail (including napkins, utensils, etc.). Try the brisket tacos. They are the best!
Kelly’s is My Favorite Restaurant every since going to the Original location which was in downtown Plano.I highly recommend the Cheese Fries with poblano peppers, Bacon and Queso served on a skillet 🤤The outside Patio was recently upgraded at this location and now has propane heaters 🔥.They also serve a decent size list of local Beer includingMy hometown 903 brewery.
Today was my first experience with this restaurant and I ordered a takeout due to the pandemic. Food was incredible and I cannot wait to visit the restaurant in person when the virus is over or at least safer to deal with. Portion size was more than enough and the taste was great!!! Highly recommend the food!
Wasnt expecting to enjoy this place so much, as figured it was a chain type pub. Also not sure why I ordered Mexican fajitas, but they were amazing!! Went with a large group on the patio and the service was terrific. Looking forward to returning next time Im over in that part of Allen.
Decided to splurge and have one of my favorite indulgences. So disappointed! I spent $50 on two BBQ Club sandwiches and two sodas, the rest was a tip for the workers. The sandwich had more fat than beef and the sausage wasn’t even warm and the fries were soggy. No BBQ sauce. Once I pulled the fat off there were three small pieces of beef. With so many businesses struggling during the COVID crisis, why would they risk offering such poor quality food in their to go orders. This was a really good place to eat.

2022-04-12Chilled out place, lot of outdoor and indoor seating. Nice drinks and decent food. Liked the idea for no reservations in patio so you c. Pick and choose your fav spot. Lot of friendly people to talk too. Severs are nice and attendant is sweet. Overall it’s a nice place to spend weeknights with some cool drinks in awesome weather.

2022-02-27Very impressed with the apps, drinks and entrees! We had the brisket potatoes for appetizer and southwestern burger. The burger didn’t make it to a photo, we devoured. Something about the bun, it was delicious. Plus I love that they’re open until 2am! Last call for dinner is 12:30am😉

2022-05-09We had a GREAT Mother’s Day dinner at Kelly’s. Super impressed with the service and kindness! We called to inquire about a table for 12, and the manager, Travis, was able to get us seated all together in a matter of minutes! The host was kind! Matt was our server and he was on top of everything. The food was great! My family had a great time with 3 generations celebrating Mother’s Day! I can’t put into words how impressed I am with the Kelly’s team! Thanks for our family Mother’s Day photo, Matt - you the real MVP.

2021-08-12I just randomly stopped here and I’d definitely come back more often if I lived in the area! The chicken Alfredo is 🔥🔥🔥. It’s seasoned just right! My girl had the Chicken Fried steak it was 🔥🔥🔥. The cornbread that came with her meal was great, the gravy was the right thickness. Highly recommend!

2022-06-16Bartenders were extremely rude! Sitting there talking to their friend while not greeting or acknowledging us. We finally got a drink and were told at 11:35 that they are closing. They also proceeded to clean up And ignore customers. Very rude to ask someone to leave when you’re open for business… especially when sitting and talking to their friend… I wish I could put a no star. Worst experience

2022-01-02Great place to eat. Went for brunch. They had 2.50 mimosas until 2pm. Portions are big so if you order a plate for yourself you most likely will not need an appetizer. Try the southwest burger. Also, the place seems to be dog friendly as we saw a dog in the back patio area. They even had a dog bowl for water.

2021-05-15This is one of my in-laws fav places to eat. We tend to go to the one in Frisco a lot, but we wanted somewhere close to home as we definitely wanted to eat out side as it was such a nice day, and it was my first time eating at this location. The food was really wonderful, I got the chicken fried steak (was so hungry forgot to take a pic), but it was delicious. My wife really enjoyed the burger she got! My daughter has allergies and we were happy to know this is one of the few places that doesnt use peanut oil for the fries, so she was able to eat the fries, kudos for the waitress for checking and not getting irritated when we asked. We did try some of the cocktails and I am not a fan. I tried the Pain Killer and it tasted super water down, didnt even taste anything other than OJ. Mother in law got the Trash Can Punch, and it tasted just like water down Power-aid, which was extremely disappointing. Quick side not, my wife did like the Raspberry Lemonade and said it tasted great. The outside dining location is really awesome. We are still wanting to stay outside, and my daughter LOVES being outside, so we figured it would offer some more time before she got restless. She was super surprised when the firetruck came by. The only thing we were not a fan of is they allowed smoking out there. Honestly was a bit shocked as it was the first time I have seen a place offer it in quite some time, and we missed the signs. Thankfully only one person was smoking near to us, and they left shortly after we got there.Other than that it is a cool place to come and grab a bite to eat.
