Local feel, fair prices on card sales and trades. A little higher on buying card packs and hobby boxes than online, but happy to do it for the local business and passion of Kenny, the proprietor (who is always there).Kenny always gives my son a smile by chatting with him about his baseball games, his card collection, or anything in general. This shop reminds me of how card shops were when I was a kid. Its the only one like that in the Austin area.Truly a local gem. Kenny is amazing. Take your cards to him to trade, sell or get rated. My son would literally rather go to Kennys with me than any other father son activity. I love this place! Thanks, Kenny!
Great customer service. There’s other rooms in the back with lots of old unique collectible items. Since I’m mostly in the market for hockey cards there wasn’t a lot to choose from….that’s the only “bad” mark about this shop. I would still recommend definitely checking it out if you haven’t already.
I have been going to Kennys since 2017 when I started collecting sportcards again after a 20 year absence. Kenny has a heart of gold and always sells his cards at the best prices and even knocks off a few dollars. He doesnt charge tax and nickel and dime you like the other card shops. The store is HUGE with fantastic selection and constant new inventory coming in.He has card shows every month that are phenemenal and you can get great deals at. He loves kids and always gives my son something extra every visit. One time it was a graded rookie card worth more than $50.I never take time out of my day to sit down and write a review but when I saw what someone just posted, giving his shop a 1 star review because he sells retail boxes I had to respond. Kenny is everything that is RIGHT with the hobby. He is a diehard sports fan and truly loves all sports and sportcard collecting. He has had the shop forever including through the lean times. Now that the hobby is booming he has to keep up with demand which probably includes buying some retail boxes Im sure. Thats what the customers want. I know its what I want. Hes not making a killing at it, believe me.I wish every store was run like Kennys. I also wish I could give a higher score because his store deserves bonus points.
Kenny’s Collectibles is by far the best card store in Austin (and I’d venture to say the entire state of Texas). Kenny treats all customers (regardless of experience or purchase level) equal and he truly makes you feel important while you’re shopping. He offers a plethora of helpful advice and he’s such a kind guy. And to boot, the store is extremely well stocked across all major card sports (including basketball) - boxes, packs, singles et cetera. If you’re local to Austin or coming through town, I massively recommend a trip to Kenny’s Collectibles. I know I’ll be back many times over!
I saw the article the that was done bye some TV station. This is whats wrong with the hobby. Its virtually impossible to find sport cards in stores such as Walmart or Target and this guy is one of the reasons. He has 1000s of dollars of retail boxes on his shelves. Boxes of cards that were $20 dollars at Walmart hes selling for $150, and hes got tons. So either hes got a connection with the guys to stock the shelves or he pays people to stand in lines for him, either way its not right. Buyers be aware that all those packs and boxes can be bought for MUCH less on eBay, and many other places. Dont support someone thats ripping you off!!To your response... How do you get your retail boxes?
One of only 2 Sports Card shops in Austin, that Im aware of. Its a drive to get to unless you live near Downtown & South of that. Takes about 10-12mins from that area. If youre in central austin or further up north (like i am) itll be a 25-35min drive. But in my opinion, if youre a true collector, its definitely worth the trip. Kennys Collectibles had so much variety. The other card shop closer to me, rarely ever has any basketball or football boxes or single packs. Kenny had a GREAT selection!Kenny is a cool dude, definitely seems like a guy you can go in there & chat about cards & sports. Ill definitely be going back... maybe even a lot more if the other shop continues to not have much.
Absolutely The BEST card shop on the planet! Huge tables to sort thru any cards you want. They have INCREDIBLE prices and an AMAZING selection of memorabilia! HOT WHEELS, magazines, figurines, cards, and MUCH, MUCH, MORE! My sons asked to go, I had MORE fun then they did! Stellar customer service, made my sons feel important and special. I will NEVER buy cards elsewhere!
All l have to say about this place is that it’s awesome. l went there today for the first time and the customer service was great. The employee there was engaged and really nice. It’s a really clean and organized place with great prices. The employees and even a customer gave me free cards. Definitely recommend to anyone.
Kennys Collectibles has it all!!! I recently got back into the hobby and things sure have changed. Kenny is happy to answer any questions. Back room with chairs and tables is a cool place to relax and browse through cards. Brought my young son there and they made him feel at home. Also has an awesome room of wall to wall Hot Wheels. Good stuff, enjoy!
Kenny’s is my favorite place in Austin to go shopping. I’m a bit biased as a card collector but he has so much more in terms of memorabilia that you are sure to find something for any sports fan! There’s also a great selection of Hot Wheels, Barbies, and sports action figures to check out!
PLEASE if you love baseball, football, basketball, and hot wheels come down tho kennys cause he has it all!!!!! my brother, cousin, and me went to his place and he has the best prices not only in austin, but in san Antonio has well when were were adding up the final price which was around 30 dollars he made us only pay 20! please come here Kennys is great!
This is honestly the best sports cards store I have been to in my life. It is humongous and has multiple rooms full of cards. Kenny is nice and gives giant bags of free cards and packs to kids with good report cards! All the cards being sold individually are half the price that you would find on eBay or Amazon. My absolute favorite things there are grab bags. They are packs Kenny makes himself that are 10 dollars and give 5 -10 autograph and memorabilia cards and there are bags for each sports. I have gotten an Isaiah Thomas auto, a DeMar DeRozan auto, a Khris Middleton jersey auto, and much more! Absolutely recommend this place.
2/10/20Went in today. Walked around, looked for a bit. Stood patiently while the guy behind counter went : BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH , and never bothered to ask How can I help you . ? How are you today .? My names Kenny, whats yours . ? I guess he wasnt interested in a unknown customer who just wanted to come in an check out a new place and maybe buy something. Nooooooo ! After ten minutes of being invisible, I left...Your a Boring little man and your store smells like an old foot. ( Human urine too ).Sincerely yoursThe Ghost
Bought a Don Gross Bob Will Jim Proctor 1960s Topps. All look good on surface but on closer look they all look counterfeit .Pictures are extremely blurry. Cards are too smooth like printed in 2000s. Offset fake aging marks. No wonder they only wanted 1.50 each . Ill take my chances on eBay and garage sales .at least if someone sells you fake stuff on eBay you get your money back . Make sure you add up the dollar amount before you get to the counter or the girl will add an extra five dollars. Sad.
Lotta stuff tons of cards and hot wheels and collectables, but seeling stuff kinda sucks cuz they only pay about 30-40% of what eBay is selling them for instead of 50% of what for cards Beckett price guide says like in the past. So they could go and post the same card ur selling for 100$ that may in Beckett be 1000$ and then offer you 40$ which is a rip in the shorts.

2022-08-10Really need to update their website. Visited today because they have pictures of a full Barbie section on their website loaded with collector barbies. When I saw the same picture in google images it was dated 2020, so I assumed it wouldn’t be too different especially because of covid, so I didn’t think to call before going. They also don’t open til noon so I didn’t want to wait to call because I wanted to get there before the afternoon as this area gets busy since it’s close to the airport... The Barbie section tucked all the way in the back of the store through several other rooms (all of which still looked fairly close to how they were pictured online)... the Barbie wall online looked nothing like pictures. The picture had nearly 50+ collector Barbie dolls to choose from, today when I went there was maybe about 5. In the owners defense maybe it’s an older image and google has it incorrectly marked 2020, but in my defense that same image is still front and center on their website. It’s clear Barbie is not their main interest, and I don’t blame them it’s clearly more catered to sports fans, but I’m posting this review only so other Barbie fans won’t waste an hour driving like I did just to walk in and walk back out. If you’re here for Barbie avoid. If you are here for sports memorabilia, sports cards, or hot wheels this is definitely your store. They have a huge selection. The staff seemed nice and the store was very nice and quite busy in the front. It’s a shame I’m not a sports fan because this would be heaven.

2022-08-24Im an avid baseball card collector and decided to check this place out. If I could give this place zero stars I would.Firstly, its tiny with little space to even walk past someone. Lets get to the main point though.. its a total ripoff. The owner (Kenny) was selling hobby boxes for 90% more than their value, and hobby lite boxes with a markup of 40%.When I extended an offer of $85 for a hobby lite box and mentioned the market value, he proceeded to retort about how ebay sellers are crooks. Bro... the only crook here is you. Anyways, he was so offended at my offer for the product that he started cussing me out, so I walked out. He then ran after me, started hollering from 25 ft away, and flicked me off. Trailer trash.Highly recommend Card Traders of Austin if you want to chill and look at/buy cards.

2022-09-05I love Kenny’s collectibles such I fun place to go to! I love going through all the bins of cards laying around and picking up some hobby boxes! I have picked up a couple of PSA graded Astros cards and got them at good price! Will go back time and time again!Thank you Kenny

2022-07-09I found several cards that were supposedly graded by PSA and they weren’t even the right cards in the description but still priced way higher than if it was the supposed graded card. I brought this to Kenny’s “the owner” attention and he said that it was PSA’s fault for sending him the wrong card back…. I’m sorry but if I spent that kind of money to get an expensive card graded I would definitely make sure I got back what I sent in and I especially wouldn’t put it out on the counter for sale knowing or not that it wasn’t the correct card and leave the price the same as if though it was a common card that they sent back to me only worth a couple dollars instead of several hundred. Also I brought in a stack of cards for sale/trade with several Kobe Bryant and other high value rookies and he offered me $140 for the entire stack of cards knowing that they were worth at least 10X that much. To be honest I wouldn’t go back there and definitely wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else for anything. Everything in the entire place is way overpriced yet to the unsuspecting collector that’s just the cost of collecting. Collectors please be careful and do a little research before making any purchases wether collecting or investing your hard earned $$$. Brian

2022-07-27Small shop none of their sports memorabilia really impressed me so I sold them some football cards way below what they go for so if your looking for Top dollar buyers of your sports cards go elsewhere
