They have always responded to our pets needs. The most recent event was an emergency. They worked us right in, went to work helping our dog and even charged it to the card no. from our last visit so we could get our dog, Finn home quickly and make him comfortable quickly. High praise, really professional staff, nice people.
Sought out a vet many years ago when I had a pet emergency and my current vet would not see my cat because they were closing shortly. (The cat ultimately died.) Dr. Foster & LTAH agreed to see my wounded cat on very short notice and personally followed up a couple of days later.Ive been with LTAH ever since. Their devotion to pets and their humans is unparalleled in my experience in our community. Office staff has been there for many, many years. They remember our pets and our names. The service is exemplary which is awesome but their commitment to animals is even more gratifying. Will be a client just as long as I have pets in my home!
What’s not to like about Lake Travis Animal Hospital? Been coming here for years. The vets are dedicated professionals who love animals. They handle your pets tenderly and knowledgeably. The staff is equally as professional and caring. Bringing an ailing pet through their doors will have you breathing a sigh of relief by the time you leave. You will know you are in good hands.
I have been taking my dogs to this practice for almost 20 years. I make the trip from Pale Face ranch out in Spicewood, because of the level of care I have had over the years. I see Dr. Foster most often. He is professional, real, and very thorough every time. I occasionally see Dr. Meyer as well who also gives my dogs excellent care as well. The staff is always pleasant, attentive, and kind to my dogs. I highly recommend the practice.
I have been using LTAH since 1996. Dr. Meyer is my vet, he is very kind and understanding and is a problem solver when it comes to getting to the root of what is causing a problem with my pet. He makes me feel comfortable in knowing he has my pets best interest and health first and foremost. I highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone looking for a reputable knowledgeable vet to take care of any problem your pet may have. They also follow up and contact you the next day to make sure your pet is OK. That is very reassuring. Kudos to them!!
From my first experience with this hospital, I found the entire staff supremely professional and caring. Since that time, I have shared the care of three dogs total, each with entirely different personalities and needs. All of the doctors are perceptive experts--I cant say enough good. Our last visit was with Dr. Owens. Not only did she field our varied needs efficiently but when our Belgian Shepherd did not respond to the first treatment for ear infection, Dr. Owens communicated an immediate alternative and even called in the prescription to accommodate my difficult schedule. I love this place and the remarkable caretakers that are associated with it! Thank you, LTAH!
Everyone at Lake Travis Animal Hospital is so nice and welcoming...and they love animals! Dr Meyer is a fantastic veterinarian and a friendly kind person, too! My sweet little dachshund actually wags her tail when she arrives! I love the care and follow up calls we get each time I take her in.
This is my local vet, and I love the people there. Super nice people, can usually get you in pretty quickly, and they obviously love animals. The location is great for the Hudson Bend area, and the prices arent too bad for a vet. My dog gets his glands done there for about $28-30. Plus, I love that they check back with you the next day to make sure all is well. I have recommended them to family that have used them when in town, and theyve also been happy with their results.
We love Lake Travis Animal Hospital! Dr. Meyer and Dr. Foster take such great care of our 4 dogs- -----we feel very grateful to have them so close by. They are sincere, efficient and clinically--they are truly spot on. These docs genuinely seem to care about our loved ones- ---and the staff is very responsive whenever we call and/or need to ask a question or get scheduled.... they have never steered us wrong. Thank you so much Lake Travis Animal Hospital!
Lake Travis Animal Hospital is the BEST! They have taken such good care of our furbabies through the years, helping us through difficult decisions and routine care with the greatest compassion for both humans and kitties. Both the doctors are super caring and have such good wisdom. And the nurses and staff are fantastic, too -- they know who I am without me having to tell them, and even ask about my parents elderly dog who is also a patient of theirs. (They even sent cookies home with me to give my dad when I dropped by there to pick up something and mentioned it was his birthday.) We are super blessed to have them in the area and wouldnt think of going anywhere else.
Best vet weve gone to in over the past 30 years! Dr. Meyers approach to his practice is what weve been looking for. Compassion about treating animals, caring, knowledgeable, and takes the more logical approach to diagnosing. We had to put one of our fur babies to sleep due to cancer. Dr. Meyer was so kind and gentle with our Mozart. Mozart went peacefully asleep with his head on my hands. We cant recommend him enough!
I cant say enough great things about the Doctors, techs and office staff at LTAH. They provide compassionate care and really take the time to explain all available care options. From the greeting upon entering the office to the follow up calls and e-mails, you can really feel the love! There are efficient options for quickly making appointments, ordering food or requesting refills online, via app or over the phone, and they work hard to fit you in for unexpected issues.
I had a new pup from the Austin Shelter that I needed to have checked out. They were very nice and quick. It was all done curbside. One thing that was a bit bothersome was the last of any information on price. It came out around what I expected for the care and medication, but price wasnt mentioned until they brought out the bill. Im sure its mostly due to the lack of interaction you can have during a pandemic, but just letting me know how much the meds are would have made this a 5 star review!
This was my first visit with my first dog in 10 years. The staff was friendly and helpful. We got into the exam room quickly and the doctor was punctual. He made me and my new puppy completely at our ease. He needed to take a blood sample for heartworms and my usually nervous puppy was not freaked out at all. Thank you. Weve found our vet home for years to come :)
I moved to a vet closer to home. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Teddy Bear shivers at vets. He had him calmed in minutes. Teddy even climbed on a chair to see over table when he moved over there. I was happy with the cost of service and the treatment. And the place is very clean and everyone professional but warm. My new Vet.
Fantastic experience! Easy to get a hold of, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great service, and low prices!Nice large, private parking lot. They get you right into a room so your pet doesnt get exposed to other animals. They actually LISTEN, and dont try to push services at you. They followed up with phone calls and emails to be sure that my cat handled his vaccinations well and that the trip hadnt unduly stressed him (car trips give him seizures unless he is medicated). The cost was half of what I paid at my last vet, and it covered more services. I was pleasantly shocked when I got the bill!
If I could give even more stars, I would! My dog gets VERY anxious when going to the vet and these wonderful folks were absolutely amazing. They also called the next day to check on Charlie(he had an ear infection) which was just wonderful. We have found our new vet! I recommend them with all my heart!
We were from out of town and one of my Schnauzers started having neck problems. I called first thing on a Monday morning and they were able to get me right in. They were extremely nice! I loved the staff and the doctors. The problem was diagnosed and we were on our way. Oscar was able to enjoy the rest of the vacation, pain free and happy! I was so impressed to receive a follow up call from them the next day to make sure he was doing ok! That is what I call excellent service! Thanks!!
Lake Travis Animal Hospital are amazing! They have brought back two of my beloved dogs from the brink - one in her dotage, which gave me several more happy months with her - and one as a youngster. (These were major, unforeseen illness related to internal organ issues). Dr Foster and Dr Meyer have a great partnership; caring professionals who consult with each other over complex problems. They have loved our dogs as we have. Their desk staff are second-to-none, always professional and supportive and Ms Kelly - Practice Mgr - is the most caring professional I know. I have no problems at all recommending this Veterinarian; I drive a long way to have them support my best friend/extended family.
Lake Travis Animal Hospital has been a true gift to us. We recently lost our last pet but the care that they provided over many years for all of our pets has been remarkable and gave us many more years with them than we could have hoped for. They understood that our dogs and cats were much more than just pets but were members of our family and treated them as such. Although it was hard to lose each of them over the years I can thank them for the many years they gave us by providing such care.
April 5th, 2021 - Lake Travis Animal Hospital JUST CANCELED MY DOGS PRESCRIPTION ! No warning, no phone call, no email -The WORST!UPDATE: We recently had our pets teeth cleaned. Dr. Owen is no longer there and we had Dr. Elizabeth DSa perform the teeth cleaning. After blood work and a slew of other stuff she said that all was ok to perform the teeth cleaning on my dogs. Evidently not. After spending close to $1900, one of my dogs is now on seizure medication for the rest of her life AND no one called to see how she is doing . They took no responsibility, swept this incident under the rug per se and told me they had no idea how this could have happened. Of course you have an idea. You are the doctor. No one has yet to call me to see how my dog is doing not even the owners. Shame on you.==========================================================
We have seen Dr. Foster for the past 5 years and he and his staff have been wonderful. We always get the correct diagnosis, proper care and great advice. He has even made house calls! Ive never been to another Vet that has done that or cared that much about what he does.Keep up the good work!
The best in Austin! We have been going to Dr. Foster for almost 10 years and only have wonderful things to say about him and his office. The staff is efficient and gets you into a room almost immediately. Dr foster is compassionate and does an excellent job of educating/explaining any diagnosis. After I moved out of the area I will admit I tried to find another vet closer to our new home... it wasnt long before we were back at LTAH. I will take the 45 minute drive to see them over the experiences I have recieved at other offices any day. If you are looking for a life long vet you can trust, I would highly recommend visiting Lake Travis Animal Hospital!
They let my cat die of a simple lung infection because I told them I wasnt rich and to please try to keep the costs as low as possible, they charged me over $800 in office fees, overnight care, fluid removal, x rays and tests, they didnt send me home with any antibiotics or aftercare instructions, she died 8 days later. DO NOT USE THIS VET
I had someone dump a five week-old puppy on me out of the blue at 7am one morning. Id lost one of my dogs just a few months prior, and I guess it was this persons ignorant attempt at... I guess being nice? Side note, do not surprise a person with a puppy you found being given away at degenerate dive-bar the night before. This is the closest vet to me, which was the only criterion I used to go there.Everyone here is incredibly cool, understanding of dealing with a too-young puppy, and they even have free K-Cup coffee... Which was amazing considering I was woken up to being given this puppy and I was there right as they opened. The only thing that seemed weird to me is when the vet ticked off a bare-minimum list of vaccines they were going to give her and looked at me a little surprised when I requested everything on the menu. He seemed genuinely shocked and happy when I explained that Im not the kind of person who skimps on my animals medical care and I want to make sure this little girl was taken care of. Even the support staff were kind, helpful, and wonderful. The only hiccup for me was when my older dog (thirteen years old) was not very happy about having an annoying baby around, and became super jealous and grumpy. I tried to make it work for a few days before I realised it was stressing the old man out and it wasnt fair to put him through this so late in his life. A few people I had told about the situation suggest incredibly stupid things, like giving her away on Craigs List. When I called the vet about it, they were incredibly understanding and helpful - which is deeply appreciated because it was tearing me up to have to let her go, not the least of it was that Id named her. They gave me a couple of contacts, including a very amazing one (which I wont disclose here) that ended up getting little Daisy (what I named the puppy) an better forever home than I could have imagined. Her new owners had two dogs exactly like her, one had passed a little while back, and they had been looking for an identical dog.I only dealt with this clinic for a week, but it was one of the most chaotic weeks Id had in a very long time, and they were over and beyond amazing.
We have a French Bulldog (our second). That said, we are all too well aware of almost every abnormal condition and malady that the breed faces and correspondingly aware of Veterinarians that proclaim to have experience with the breed and dont. If you are a Frenchie or Bulldog owner, you will likely not find more capable physicians than with LTAH. They are highly knowledgeable and take a measured approach toward treatment. In a world of reactionary medicine, its refreshing to see pragmatism accompanied by/with expertise. Would like to say one physician is our favorite, but all whom weve interacted with are exceptional.
My dog and I are in from out of town. I noticed she was not acting herself yesterday, but all the local vets were closed, so I called first thing this morning and they fit us into their schedule. We came in and everyone was super nice. They gave my dog a chew to calm her down while I filled out a quick page of paperwork. The doctor listened to my long, detailed story, ruled out everything I was concerned about to put me at ease, and was able to diagnose my dog pretty quickly. We got medicine, he answered all my questions, and we got right out. They said theyll be calling tonight and tomorrow to check in. Great hospital!
We have been seeing Dr. Foster and Dr. Meyer for 20 years. We have never had a bad experience in all the years we have been bringing our pets. They have provided excellent care and the office staff is great and very friendly. Our pets feel at ease and loved when we come in.
BEWARE!!!!!!!This animal hospital is just after your money. They could care less about your pet.I have three dogs and have been going to this animal hospital for many years. My dog was not eating and I went to Dr. Foster for an exam. I was charged $150.00 for an exam and blood work. Dr. Foster said my 19lb dog may have cancer and needs more tests. He suggested my dog to have an X-Ray. I called around for prices on X-Rays. I called the Manager of Lake Travis animal hospital and spoke to Kelly Oconnor. I explained my situation with having limited money. I explained that I found a price from Bee Cave Veterinarians clinic for less money can she match it. She said NO!I pleaded with her. She said NO! She said let me check with the Veterinarians. She called me back and said NO!I said let me get this correct. I have a dog that has been coming to you for over three years and now he has cancer. I have very limited money and you cannot match a local veterinarian’s price. And she still said NO. This has been my experience with this animal hospital.
No trained staff and highly over priced. 300 dollars for flea medicine and office visit. They also needed my help holding my 40 pound dog. Its one thing to over charge, but when I have to assist you in your task thats absurd. I took my other dog to a vet off 2222 and they charged 98 dollars for a full round of shots including the office visit.

2022-05-13This is the best vet practice I have EVER been to and I have had pets for the past thirty years. Many with numerous health issues, some that required surgery. Dr. Myers is outstanding. He listens, he spends time discussing any issues. He speaks in a way that you can understand. he is considerate of the pet, but also of the pet owner. He is a true country vet and he saved my dogs life by being gentle, but persistent. The very best staff...EXCELLENT!

2022-02-17I used to live across the street from Lake Travis Animal Hospital. Now I live 1:45 minutes away. I still drive round trip 3:30 minutes to have my cats seen by Dr. Meyer, because his diagnostic and think outside the box skills are exceptional. Anyone within the area is blessed to have him nearby and should not hesitate to have their pets seen and treated by him. And by the way, the staff is professional, accommodating and knowledgeable.

2022-04-04I am very grateful to Dr. Meyers attentiveness and time recently during a very difficult period in the life of Salem, our lady lab of 15 years. He and his staff are exceptional caregivers and treated her with care, compassion and dignity as we struggled with her declining health. Fortunately, Dr. Meyers accurate assessment equipped us with the information we needed to make the decision we made, and Im happy to report that nearly 3 weeks post-surgery she is doing very well and has new life. I highly recommend LTAH. Thank you!

2022-05-10My cat goes to Dr Craig Meyer. He is so knowledgeable about cats and really understands that they can be funny creatures (!). Dr Craig Meyer will always look to avoid spending money unnecessarily and wants to do whats right for your pet. He clearly has a lot of experience and yes, taking your pet to the vet isnt cheap but I feel like I get a top notch service at Lake Travis Animal Hospital and seems quite affordable given the quality of care.

2022-05-28Absolutely wonderful experience! Jenn greeted me immediately and within no time me and the doggies were in an examination room. She was very professional and answered all the questions that I had. As a dog breeder Ive had many encounters with animal hospitals that were subpar, but not this place. Im definitely making this my new hometown animal hospital. ♥️

2020-06-29Their staff is very caring and professional. Our dog started drooling excessively and we were concerned she had eaten something poisonous. They fit her into the schedule, held her for observation, and gave her excellent treatment. I am incredibly thankful for the doctors and staff. I will definitely be using them for all of our veterinary needs.

2020-11-16They are so friendly, the place is beautiful and clean... and it is just a great vet so far! We just moved here less than a month before our Rottweiler broke her leg. She was super nervous the first time she went in... now she gets excited to go in and see the people in there when she goes in to have her bandage changed!

2020-11-18I have been going to Lake Travis Animal Hospital for the past year. I take my older dog (chicken, bichonpoo) and puppy ( Mishkah, goldendoodle). By far the most classy and clean animal hospital Ive ever been to. I LOVE the staff, especially Kelly and Diane! They do such an amazing job that my dogs get excited when we pull up to their driveway. The doctors are amazing and personalize each and every visit. During the pandemic they took everything very serious but still let us speak to the doctors about my concerns! LTAH will always be my number one choice and I love referring my friends to them! They are family! I cant wait to add more animals to my family just so I can take them here!
