Lived here for less than a year, staff can be rude at times and they do what they feel like instead of what you need. try to give free stuff to make people like them, always under construction and people always leave trash in the hallways, say they “follow policy” but they really don’t, don’t depends on staff for anything especially opening your door when your locked out they completely forgot about me even tho i called them about 3 times
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!I had to move out cause my roommate was a danger to me and they told me the same thing. Even when i filed a police report, they refused to let me break my lease.Same old we are at 100%. Cant move you. Cant break your lease. Cant do anything about your roommate. They even stopped answering my pgone number and i had to call them from my google voice phone and they pick up right away. The builds are old and smell like mold. Theres been construction for more than a year that leaves trash everywhere. The contract is a joke that they only use to trap people. They say they strictly enforce it but as soon as you bring up something thats in there, they say they dont?DONT LIVE HERE. ALWAYS LIVE SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU CAN BREAK YOUR LEASE!!
This place think is right to get in my room (twice) move my things around without a warning. In October 2020 construction broke my window while they were working on remodeling the outside of the buildings. In March 2021, they decided to send the technician to replace my window without notice (or like they said, he arrived without letting them know). They didnt do the responsible thing of letting me know that they were coming. I believe they were unable to perform the job thats why they called me to let me know if I could move my computer away from the window. This took me by surprise since I wasnt expecting no one there. I feel like they invaded my privacy, however, that didnt stop them from getting inside once again to move my stuff even though I had agreed to move the computer.Be careful they said that they can go inside any room any time they want and thats scary (specially if you are a girl).
I helped my boyfriend pick this apartment because it was the nicest student living complex in the area and I was comfortable sending him here when he was 5.5 hours away.Pros: the inside of the apartment itself is nice with his kitchen and closet being surprisingly big. The fact that this apartment is furnished is really nice as well as having an included washer and dryer and the included utilities.Cons: I have never seen a company with a worse parking scheme. There are roughly 20 MARKED visitor parking spaces in front of the pool area. As a visitor to this property, when the visitor parking was full I didn’t know where else to park but figured parking anywhere would be okay considering the parking lot is nowhere near full (thanks COVID). Boy was I wrong, as my car was towed literally 20 minutes after I parked it for the night by a company I STRUGGLED to get it back from. Even though the towing company (RRRAPID BOOTING AND TOWING) is closed on Saturday and Sunday’s, they’re still rolling through this parking lot looking for their next cash cow, as they charge $295 to redeem your vehicle. Oh, and you have to call them and give them an hour of warning to get your vehicle back, 20 minutes away in McAllen. What an inconvenience when there’s almost no one in the parking lot here. Whatever I guess. Office staff was pretty rude when I called asking about the parking scheme so I could avoid getting towed in the futureTLDR: decent complex but terrible parking scheme especially for visitors.
Their CA Jesse is the most helpful and kind person! I went in for a tour with a couple of friends, and he made the experience so much better. He answered all our questions very precisely and he clearly knew what he was talking about. I would definitely recommend scheduling a tour with him, as he will make the process very smooth and provide you with the best customer service!
This place is horribly managed. It is run by kids who have potential to be lack the training they need to run the place efficiently and give good customer service, therefore, they have no idea what they’re doing. But what can you expect when it starts at the top? The main manager, Georgia, only cares about the money and not at all about the property. I can see why they go through general managers more often than a baby gets diaper changes. So glad my lease is about to end. I can’t wait to go somewhere where they’ll be more respectful and attentive to building/ tenant needs. This is NOT the definition of living legendary. For the price, I would imagine a much better experience.
My friends live here, and everytime I come to visit I love it so much! I had to see it for myself so I scheduled a tour and fell in love with the property. The staff is super friendly, and CA Jacklyn took the time to share her personal experience and I look forward to making memories here!🤩
Junk apartaments. The price is ridiculously high. They paint a pretty picture but the place is not maintained. The pool is gross for lack of better words. The units are not in good condition. Also if you value your car park it elsewhere. If its towed $300 dollars youre gonna pay. They have a contract with a towing company out of McAllen to literally come and pick up cars even on their own tenants. Not worth it.
I lived here for a year, when I moved in I took over another person lease, management told me I would be receiving $150 for her renewing. I was told by 2 managers, and confirmed it the day of signing. End of August came along and they told me I would not be receiving the $150. I would get mixed responses from the front office. Management is horrible. They are constantly hiring and letting go people, so information is not accurate, when giving information they are suppose to write a note in the account of the conversation, they do not. Most important, I had gone to complain about the living facility in my apartment, a women from corporate that owned the facility came down to visit, she was the rudest person I have ever met. She overheard the conversation I was having with another employee regarding the apartment I was living in, it was disgusting. She told me that I was an adult and could fix my issues as such, that they are not my parents to go fix my problems. I figured being their facility complex they would address this issue because it has been going on before I even moved in. Im sure no one would like to be treated like a child. I would even believe she would treat residence better considering we are paying to live there. Being from corporate I figured she would be at least polite to residence for choosing to live there. They say they have an officer patrolling the facility 24/7 the vehicle is usually parked on the side with no driver. Residents have party’s throughout the nights without regards for other people that live there. This is a community facility, it’s not only for college students. The gate malfunctions sometimes, non-residence get into the facility and jump the fence for the pool area. Visitors parking is always full with the same vehicles parked there all the time, usually residence are only suppose to have visitors for 3 days max.. that doesn’t happen. Residence have people visiting for more than 3 days. The apartment complex itself is nice, you have your own bathroom and room, for the 4 bedroom you share a kitchen, living room, and W/D.
Im currently leasing with the legends and have had three problems with my AC. I have been here for only a little bit over a week!! We have reached out to maintenance on multiple occasions and they take forever to assist our problems. Im paying money to be returning home almost every night because it is unbearably hot!!
I’ve only lived here for a few months, but as a full time student and full time worker, I love coming after a stressful day to such a homey atmosphere. My dog loves the dog park and looks forward to her morning play time. Hopefully I can call this place home for another year.
I was going to lease in here because at first I thought it was great to live there and I was excited but when I applied they never told me anything about the status of my guarantor and months later almost near to move in date they told me that I had to change guarantor, something that they should have told me months ago. And when I called I asked for the manager of all these but they always say he/she is not available and he/she cant help you either I mean what in the hell???? And they told me try to send him/her an email about whats happening but he/she aint going to help you. I mean their service and support are poor they are like a child. Also I said well you never told me I was approved or accepted to live here I want to back out from my lease because it says on the lease that when they dont approve or something is missing they denies or cancels the lease so I told them about it and they said that I had to pay and find someone to replace my place and I have a friend that used to live there and he was moving out and they told him the same stuff about looking for someone else. And he did as they said to him and all the time they denied the new people also asking my friend to pay for it. They just want your money dont recommend.
DO NOT PICK THIS PLACE!! Reasons: 1.) They will tow your family’s, friends, bf/gf car even when the parking lot is 70% empty. They will have to park in the front of the property and WALK to your building! They say that residents get “priority” parking and that’s why nobody can park there but the parking lot is EMPTY and it’s US, the residents who are constantly dealing with the inconvenience. They hired a tow company who patrols the parking lot towing any car without a sticker. Family & friends should be able to park INSIDE the property without getting towed and paying $400. 2.) No privacy! They will walk in your room while you’re not there whenever they want and snoop around almost like you live in a dorm. Don’t leave anything out that could get you in trouble because they WILL call police on you. Managment holds master keys that they use to go into rooms and they do not need your consent because it’s on the lease you signed. 3.) They have horrible maintenance service! The property is cheaply made and things are always falling apart, you can just look at the outside of the buildings and see they’re already starting to crack. One of the maintenance guys even got caught stealing from residents. 4.) They will harass you WEEKLY trying to get you to renew, they call you every 3 days and even go knock on your door as late as 8pm asking if you want to renew your lease. If you sign in August they will begin calling you to renew in October! 5.) MANAGMENT. The general manager is not qualified, caring, or sympathetic towards residents. She will NOT care about your concerns, opinion, or complaints. She is not a “people’s manager” she is just there to in force RULES. She has yet to make ANY changes despite the countless people who have gone and voiced their concerns and opinions. 6.) they claim to be pet friendly but they are far from that. Your pet must be 2 years old if not they are not allowed on the property. They have an “aggressive breed list” that they got from google and all those dogs are banned from the property. You will NOT feel at home here. If you’re a student join the UTRGV student page and search “legends” on the tool bar and see for yourself what others have to say. I am NOT the only one. There are countless people who regret moving in, DONT BE ONE OF THEM.
Enjoyed probably the first 3 months here but after that it was just gross. the water in the sink when hot turns to a murky white-ish color. SPIDERS!! all around the complex & even inside my apartment i’ve had the weirdest of looking bugs fall from the ceiling through the air compartment thing(don’t know what it’s called) . greedy towing company, small visitor section. please find somewhere else to live. not worth it. waiting for my lease to end
The apartments are really nice, but there are things that need fixing and the staff is welcoming, but they are as lost as the residence when it comes to questions about the study room doors after hours, the cable and internet going in and out. The washer and dryer are not fully functioning they just tell you to write a report for maintenance to get anything in the apartment fixed.
Summer I started... Legends Staff hasNot been able to fix a wifi problem within 5 days. Yet, they continue to post tik-toks or instagram photos. No email sent to address the residents of the problem either... where also not forgiving during the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, my trucks tires where slashed and management had no responsibility over it... no cameras are installed either to promote safety...Not Recommended at all.
Very incompetent management. if you enjoy your privacy to be invaded this is your place to be. money hungry and will find any way to charge you more. they entice people with a nice front, pool, lounge, etc but its trap make sure to read the addendum/lease papers and youll see how f***** up they can be. The maintenance snitches and when they come in for maintenance check they look for little things to report. I could go on...
I am a current resident moving out. There’s been multiple times where my family has come to visit me and seen people doing drugs. Always smells like weed and can never get any sleep due to parties going on! There must be no supervision or they must not care. Need new management ASAP. Not a good place to live I’m warning you!!
18 minutes on hold until someone answered, I was promised a room in the 1st floor in the 1st building, but I had to wait till the 1st to move in and I did, by the time it was the 1st that room we were promised it was taken I requested to be moved since December because it was difficult for my wife to go up and down the stairs and it didnt happen until recently and they charged, I cleaned out my apartment spotless and I go check the downstairs one and it got me so mad it was completely trashed I talked to the front people and they said theyd have maintenance clean it by the next day at noon. I showed up at 1:40pm and nothing it was just as dirty I called again and they sent somebody i stood there and I saw it took 30 minutes before someone showed up I left back to the upstairs and sat there and waited. I called again to see if it was ready at 4:45pm and it was ready but I still found trash that I cleaned up. Most of the door stoppers are broken, the shower clogs up like crazy, the stove was dirty and there was dirty everywhere. So far this is one of the most unsatisfying places I have ever stayed at.
I was visiting my boyfriend on a Sunday and I have seen a towing truck drive around for hours towing any vehicle without a parking sticker. This is absolutely wrong. Save yourself the trouble and do not move in. They should not treat their residents and guests/family of residents this way.
Not a really good place to live at! The staff is not knowledgable about what they do and what options are actually available for people. Little by little they make up random rules. If you want to make a payment they took away the option for echeck for me so now I have to be making money orders instead of just being able to pay it online!
I haven’t even moved in yet and they keep going back and forth with me. They haven’t told me how much I am going to pay, they are trying to charge a cancellation fee when they specifically told us we wouldn’t have to, they haven’t moved me to the 2 bedroom like they told us they would.
This place is so trash! Would not recommend to anyone at all. They do not allow you to have pets if they are under two years old. The management is horrible. They will tow your friends and family’s cars, who do not have a sticker, if they parked inside the legends property.
The facilities are comfortable and pleasant, what could improve is the attention to the resident, I understand that the management puts pressure on the workers to secure the re-contract but that does not give justification to the employees of harassing you with 6 daily calls asking if You are going to renew your contract. I repeat legends is a nice place and most of the time the staff is very supportive, but it is important to remember the line between work and going beyond.

2022-04-07I lived here for a year in two different rooms and it’s bad. the people that work here are shady and liars. i wouldn’t trust anything they say. they lie that the electricity is included in the rent but it is not. they also lied that my roommates renewed when they didn’t.also they towed my car when i parked in the visitors section because they changed the parking rules all of a sudden. no where was it posted, not their website or social medias. no texts or emails. they said there was a calendar which other tenants i know claimed to not see. i lived with some roommates that i didn’t feel comfortable around and they wouldn’t change my room unless i paid a fee. they don’t care much about the people that live here. it’s dirty and there’s spiders everywhere.also they charged me a lot of money when i moved out for leaving a chair and one little stain on the carpet.

2021-02-24Out of my time in this apartment complex, it has been nothing but downhill since moving in. I have many complaints from my stay, but I think the biggest issue that I came across was when my apartment was affected by Hurricane Hanna. I left for this duration, about a week, and when I returned our apartment was heavily affected to the point where conditions were unlivable (attached images below). Additionally, when I returned, the front door was unlocked. Let me repeat that again THE FRONT DOOR WAS UNLOCKED, meaning anyone had access to our apartment. Upon contacting maintenance this issue, they attempted to solve this issue with cleaning the carpet and scrubbing the walls. Although, with the extent of this problem, that will not solve the issue and will require the carpet to be replaced as well as the other side of the dry wall to be cleaned. Because I did not want to live in this condition, I contacted the front desk to request a spare apartment in which they denied. Frustrated with this issue, and nowhere else to live, I argued to transfer to a different apartment. At first they denied that they had no other apartment, and with threatening legal actions they eventually gave into giving me an apartment.I have much, MUCH more to say, but to keep things short, I have attached bullet points of all the problems I have come across during my stay here.-**FRONT DOOR LEFT UNLOCKED BY STAFF**-improper lease payment (charging more than documented)-improper management of water damages-denied initial request to move, had to threaten legal actions to beapproved-told they would clean the carpet, when the whole carpet neededreplacement due to heavy water damage-told maintenance would scrub the walls of mold, while the entire wallsthorough cleaning as the damages were severe-outdoor lighting not working-gate not working-improper covid guidelines-hosted party by pool with large crowd-loud neighbors, heavy music-charged for parking sticker replacement, despite being in car wreck (with proof)look, I dont consider myself a Karen that complains at every nitpick. I stay fairly reserved and mind my business, but at some point I have to draw the line. I payed about ~450 a month, as a college student, and throughout almost my entire stay it was always something frustrating. Even the basics like having functional parking lights was not prioritized.Note: I don NOT blame the staff for the problems here. They are hard working, and I am thankful for them working with me. However, the real problem stems with the higher ups, that seem to not understand the problems they are creating with tying up the power of the manager here.

2022-01-15Two words: LIARS & BETRAYERS. They do not take accountability of their OWN FAULTS/MISTAKES. They towed so many cars this morning ALL cause of their fault and they allowed it too. They had told us we could park in that specific area but “today the rules changed” according to them. YET, they failed to move a single finger to AT LEAST notify their tenants of the NEW CHANGE. Instead of protecting their tenants they just want $$$ but at the end they will lose even more money due to their disloyalty. Also, I bumped into another tenant in the same situation. She was all surprised her car had been towed when she had been parking in the same area for over A YEAR!!!You bring an issue to them and all they do is SOUND LIKE A BROKEN SPEAKER, repeating themselves over and over again. Seriously, best thing you can do is quit your job and go take an intensive course of COSTUMER SERVICE.

2021-07-20Living here was a big mistake. I moved into my apartment, only to find out it was infested with spiders/spiderwebs that were everywhere, even crawling on my bed! Since Legends has an exterminator go by every couple weeks, it was useless to even submit a work order. I only submitted one work order, and they sprayed my apartment for bugs, and it did nothing to fix the issue. So, after about 4 months of ME having to kill most of the spiders, everything was fine. Then starting in April, my AC stopped working. I stayed at my parents house until they could fix the AC properly, which was NEVER. It would get fixed and then suddenly stop working, over and over again. Maintenance even told me they didnt know why that was happening. Youd think they would install a new AC, but nope, so I had to keep calling maintenance every single time I went to my apartment to pick up stuff. The AC is a recurring problem thats been going on for 3 months & they dont seem to care to fix it properly. Then, I finally decided to move out early because I cant stand this place, and I woke up to a $70 charge for the stained carpet that was already in my apartment when I first moved in and I did mark it down on the “Inventory and Condition Form” they give us at move-in date. I was told to email the General Manager about all this, his name is Jesus, who then tells me he “can’t find the form in my records”? This very IMPORTANT form is somehow LOST. How coincidental. By them losing this form, people with no proof of the form, probably end up having to pay for all the damages. So shady. Thankfully, I took pictures of the form before I turned it in, and sent it to the GM, and then the charge got removed, only because I took a picture of the form. How unprofessional! Greedy place. What a waste of space, time, and money. A HUGE scam. I would never recommend this place to anyone. If you do stay here which I hope you don’t, please TAKE PICS of EVERYTHING, and of every FORM, so they cant try to scam you. Do not trust this place.Another thing that happened was that in Oct 2020, I noticed a car at my building had been vandalized, so I went to the front office to notify a staff member and thought since they have all of the residents license plate numbers, they would notify the owner of the vehicle. (The vehicle is also parked in resident spots only, so this person was a resident.) Later that night, a woman knocked on my door and asked if I saw anyone vandalize her car, etc. I told her no but I did notify the front office though, hoping they’d tell her right away. She told me they NEVER reached out to her about it! So no, they don’t care about their Legendary Residents. My last apartment complex would send out an email EVERY TIME to all residents, if ANYTHING like that ever happened, so people would BE AWARE of what’s going on and to be cautious! They didn’t care to even notify this lady or send out a message to all residents about the incident. It would be nice to know what’s going on in our community, not just sweep everything under the rug. So glad Im done with this place.

2021-12-24As a women don’t get an apartment here trust me , I bought a carpet for the front door because I was so excited on getting my first apartment and SOMEONE stoled it for no reason .. Then on top of that they matched me with a NOT so good roommate .. no independent what’s so ever, and I told the front office and they didn’t know what to do the POOL IS always green. The only great thing is the gym and study room! And when you pay your rent, a few days later they charger your more because of light and air conditioning but they said it include 🤮

2021-08-02Something I wished I wouldve done before leasing here to see the property for myself and not let the leasing agents show me around. I just let them show me the good things of the property. Immediately after moving in I noticed how dirty the stairs and hallways were. I would see trash everywhere. Also be careful where you step because people dont pick up after their pets. The garbage cans always seemed to be spilling out. Its of no importance to the management how the property looks on the outside. They do take the parking situation VERY SERIOUSLY. So be careful if you have guests over. Make sure they park in the visitors spots because the towing company is quick to tow cars without permit. Lastly since this place is close to UTRGV, theres a lot of college students so I would hear loud music going on during the night or loud noises. This place is convenient since it comes furnished and you only worry about one bill but for me that didnt make up for all the other things.

2021-09-16I think I held off posting this long enough. The realest thing about this place is the building. You can trust that a structure lies here. These people will never be on your side so keep documentation of EVERYTHING because they never will. Your Inventory and Conditions Form will somehow go missing, especially if theres a problem or something stained before you move-in.5-star reviews are a joke, and are only written by people that have never lived here or have never seen the face behind the mask. This place is horrific and those in charge of change could care less about the problems youll have here. The fact that theyll overcharge you on rent and theyll find any little thing to charge you when you moveout after scrubbing the place clean says a lot about them, but good luck.Dont forget to document everything and keep copies of forms. Youll regret it if you dont. Also, theyd rather say that they have no record of you living here than to own up to their faults. Again, good luck.

2021-03-05Just want to say that I was a little unsure at first but once was we got to legends we were greeted by one of their employees and were well taken care of. Frances(Laney) gave my husband and I a great tour of the complex and answered all our questions. We did mention some issues with previous reviews we had seen that made us unsure and she assured us that things had changed and that they have great priority for tenants. Totally worth looking into.

2021-03-31Worst place to live at! First of all, the apartment was given to us UNCLEANED, you might wake up to your car towed even if you have a sticker on it, front office is no help all they do is bash previous managers (unprofessional) they make it seem like it is so great. I called because I did not want to live here right at the beginning & they swore it would be different but it’s not!Take this review serious, DO NOT move in here! The hallways smell, I understand when ppl have pets but it is also maintenance’s job to do their part & they don’t. There literally ROACHES in my Apartment. Can’t wait till my lease is up to NEVER come back.
