Lopez Mexican Restaurant in other cities:
We tried this place for the first time today since it’s their 44th Anniversary and figured this place must be amazing being open this long! We get there before 6 pm and the place is already packed and we have to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Awesome we say to each other this place has to be delicious with this wait! The entire staff is very nice and attentive so we’re off to a good start. We sit and alas, to the anguish of our toddler, both T-Mobile and AT&T do not have service at the restaurant! The waitress apologizes as they have no Wi-Fi. Alright. We proceed to eat the salsa which is watery but has a good kick. The guacamole arrives and it is bland. Maybe the rest of the food will be better. Our beef fajitas for two arrives looking like fajitas for one. Again, no flavor. We ask for limes and shredded cheese to give it some taste and the cheese they give is shredded Velveeta. At this point we’re perplexed at the incredibly packed restaurant and all the people waiting both inside and outside to eat. The length of the wait and the number of diners does not match up to the quality of the food. Our toddler did enjoy her grilled cheese and fries so there was one happy person at the table. However, not worth the $70 spent. Excellent customer service but I’d rather have delicious food.
The place is beautiful. The service…the waitress seemed like she didn’t want to be there. I ordered steak fajitas and they were not flavorful and the server was so not caring, I had to flag her down to pay the bill. I never saw her after I ordered. Nice place for sure, but good and service severely lacking flavor.
We love their beef enchiladas with Chile gravy. Always ask for extra Granny. These are best hands Dow. The Chile gravy is superb. Unfortunate ly we went on June 25around lunchtime. Service was perfect but the Chile gravy was not the same. They seemed to be less thick and watered down. First time ever to be disappointed with food. Please tell me this a fluke day and the recipe hasnt changed. Travel from the North side of Katy just for this dish. Weve decided to give another chance but if it indeed changed Chile gravy recipe it will be our last visit, darnit. Thanks for the best service.
What in the world has happened to Lopez on Grand Parkway? This used to be a great Tex-Mex restaurant that served really delicious food. They’ve either gotten complacent or they just plain don’t care. The quality of their food has dropped to an all-time low and so has service. We stopped in Saturday afternoon around 3 pm. I ordered the chicken tacos and my husband ordered the chalupas. My three little chicken tacos with corn tortillas were filled with nothing but bits and crumbs of dried up chicken that tasted like leftovers that had been scrapped up from the grill. My husband’s plate was smothered in fresh shredded cheddar cheese, so much so you couldn’t even see the plate or food underneath for the cheese. After excavating through the three-mile-high mountain of cheese, there was the same dried up chicken bits and leftover crumbs mixed in with what were obviously canned refried beans and shredded lettuce. The presenration was awful! My husband managed to eat his food, but I sent my plate back and chose not to accept the manager’s offer to prepare something else, because I sensed that she was offended that I felt the food was sub par.I used to be a fan of this restaurant, but not anymore. If you‘re looking for good Mexican food keep looking, ‘cause this ain’t the place!
My favorite neighborhood restaurant. Drinks are strong. The enchiladas are AMAZING. Ive seen other plates come out of the kitchen, and everything looks delicious, but I cant order anything else. The cheese and chili sauce is my absolute fave! $3.95 margaritas for happy hour make this place irresistible.
Although its the second location, it still rings true to their original locations food and atmosphere. The food is always good. Amazing salsa. I love their fajitas and Margarita happy hour. The service is always fantastic. They have amazing Charro beans. All in all, 5 star because Lopez is amazing. Ive been going for 25 years.
I stopped in for lunch during the week and was helped out by Yadira who was bartending. She was amazing, highly recommend anyone who visits ask for her. Smiled the whole time I was there with every guest and coworker and had a very positive attitude. When asked for a drink suggestion she didnt just randomly blurt out the most expensive drink to sell me, she told me her favorite drink and why she recommended it for its flavor profile. The food was good and it came out quickly. Next visit I will most likely get all beef fajitas instead of mixed as I felt the beef had better flavor than the chicken. Rice and beans were on point so there were zero complaints from me. Convenient location, solid staff, little to no wait on the food and everything is priced fairly. For sure a location to visit if you are in the area.
Well my girlfriend and I went on our date night tonight... and we chose Lopez Mexican Restaurant.... first of all the service was excellent.. everything came out so fast.. I ordered a margarita it was so refreshing... but we both ordered the Lopez plate ... not only did we receive it quickly but the food was amazing and they gave you alot of it.... Thank you Lopez for making our date night so memorable...until next time signing off Two Peas.
Food was good. Ground beef enchiladas were much better than the recommended Fajita Chicken and the Fajita Beef enchiladas. Rolando was NOT a very good waiter. We had to keep asking over and over for stuff and our glasses stayed empty. Would go back again just want a different waiter.
I had heard great things about Lopez and was excited to try it. The atmosphere was great, and the hostesses were very helpful. However, thats where my praise ends. The server was not friendly, very impatient, and not helpful. And the food was not very good. To be fair, several at my table enjoyed their food, but a lot of us did not. It wasnt terrible, it just wasnt very good. For example, no salad at any decent restaurant should have shredded iceberg lettuce. Overall, it was an okay experience, just below what I was expecting.
Ive been eating at Lopez for a very long time since the restaurant was a little place in the shopping strip before they built the own place and now another new location in Richmond/Katy area. This new location is clean and model service and food are excellent as always with a very reasonable price. Great to see them become so successful and its great to have a Lopaz close by my house.
Ordered family meal of fajitas and enchiladas. Was kinda disappointed in the portion of beef/chicken fajitas it measured 4.5oz. Ordered charro beans but was sent refried. I didnt check until I got home, my fault. I would have gone back, but im an hour away. Enchiladas were good but fajitas need some seasoning. Ill try them again.
On March 26 there was a party and the clients brought two cakes to celebrate the clients birthday. When they brought the cake to the event, the two patales fell on the ground and they picked it up from the ground and served it that way. Yuck, the managers were Karmen and María. The waitress was Geo..
This place is a great place to feel rich, the deco is very nice the atmosphere is excellent, the service is awesome. The food is not the best I have tasted but I still enjoyed it, not to much selection in the menu but just enough not to confuse me on what I want to eat. Me and my wife had margaritas and after talking to the bar tender and sharing our preferences he offers to customize our margaritas to perfection, a big plus from the bar staff.. overall a great place to have dinner without the loud music or the crowded environment. Finally, the happy hour the best price in the area.. will be coming back for more.
Been to this location at least 3x now including tonight. Always great service and food. Restaurant is very clean and always busy. The only thing that I noticed this time around when received my bill that the server on the receipt listed was not the actual server who serviced us from beginning to end. I hope that this was an error but seriously doubt it because it was a womans name showing as server when the server was an awesome and attentive male server by the name of Caesar. Patrons...Please always make sure that your server is listed on your receipt before leaving a well deserved tip to your actual server. They earn this tip plus their 2.00 an HR rateManagement..do not allow someone else on your serving team to be given credit for a service they never even provided to begin with
Service was really great. Food was fresh, flavorful and served quickly. The service crew was very welcoming, efficient and frequently checked on whether everything was perfect in our dining experience. The restaurant was very spacious and had a very distinct modern Mexican ambiance.
Fantastic first time experience here. All the staff were amazing, but I ESPECIALLY want to shoutout Shelly, who wasnt actually our server but was constantly checking in on us and making sure we were good. (No shade to our server btw, he was also a lovely person!) Absolutely one of the best restaurant experiences Ive ever had!(The food of course was also lovely! Highly recommend the chile con queso to anyone who appreciates a little bit of spice.)
Really nice place with good food and excellent service. Try the frozen margaritas, theyre fantastic. Food was good, service was excellent, you could tell that the servers were smiling behind their masks. We were treated so nicely as they welcomed us and made sure we had a lovely dining experience. I think the place needs a little brightening up on the inside but other than decor issues the place is a must visit when in the Katy area
Outside... a nice building. Once inside we were greated by 3 energized employees who introduced themselves and their roles. The decor was very tasteful and remarkably clean. The homemade salsa was not heavy and had a nice spice to it. Our food was quickly served but exceptionally tasty. The waiter was polite, always smiling and stopped back often but was not intrusive. The restrooms were exceptionally clean and had a nice clean fragrance. We are staying downtown but would drive out here at anytime for this dining experience.Came back again while visiting Houston. Restrooms still spotless. Lunch took 6 minutes to our table. Staff was attentive and efficient. Food was OUTSTANDING!!
Maybe we’re just spoiled being from Austin/San Antonio but this was the most “meh” Tex Mex we’ve ever had. Just no flavor, like a frozen dinner…. :(And to wait an hour for it :(:( * 1 year later update, still frozen dinner quality and service worse than remembered. Salsa was better I think…
I would give this place FIVE stars if only they had tamales on the menu! My first time here and I was otherwise very impressed with the service, the speedy food delivery, the quality and the taste of the food and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The chips, salsa and optional queso we ordered was good. My entree choice was El Trio with a crispy ground beef taco, a beef enchilada and the guacamole salad. Everything was really good but the beef enchilada stood out as especially delicious! Well definitely be back when were in the neighborhood!
We came here after visiting Gallery Furniture and had an excellent experience. The food was delicious and the service was incredible. I do not remember our server’s name, but he was a wonderful young man. He told us some information about the art on the wall and that was nice. Even the security guard was welcoming! We stayed past when they close because my grandfather has a myriad of health issues and needs to sit for 30~ minutes after eating. They were incredibly accommodating and didn’t try and rush us out. I will recommend this place!
We have been going to the Lopez restaurant on Wilcrest Dr. since it first opened and consider it to be the Best Tex Mex Food in Houston. So for that location I rate it five star.Since they have a location on Grand Parkway that is closer to our home we occasionally go there. Like the original restaurant this one is noisy due to the hard surfaces of the décor. We are almost always seated immediately, but now there appears to be a shortage of trained staff. My usual the Lopez Dinner with charro beans substituted for the refried and extra onions on the enchiladas. On the whole the meal here is not bad, but is not up to the standard of the Original Lopez Restaurant on Wilcrest as the flavors are just a little off.In comparison the food is similar, but just not as good, service is especially lacking at the 99 location. The 99 location the wait staff takes the order, drops the food and is not seen until they deliver the check. We revisited the Wilcrest location last week and the service was excellent as usual and the food, hot fresh and consistently good.In the future we will drive further and continue going back to the original 5 star location. As far as the 99 location it appears they are in need of Mr. & Mrs. Lopezs expert management and help in the kitchen.
Still working out kinks. Hostesses need public relations training. Food was very good after long, under estimated wait time prior to arrival, by phone, 15-20 minutes, then waited 30 minutes upon arrival as told at check-in, only to wait an additional 30-40 minutes after checking up on wait time. Could have driven to Wilcrest location faster. Still recommend for good food. If youre in a hurry go to primary location off of 59 and Wilcrest. Limited menu, reccomend steak fajitas if you do decide to suffer through the hostesses and wait.
Those dang chips fill you up soon much. I love this place.12/2/21 - editing reviewSo I went back today with my parents and my kids and it was embarrassing.Someone brought us chips and salsa and took our drink order. Great.15 minutes go by and no one comes to ask us for our food order.I ask the chip guy for a server and he runs to find someone.Another 5 minutes go by and I ask thr chip guy again.10 minutes later a server comes.By this time one of my 5 year olds is superrr hungry.I always feed the kids first and then eat. Bad mistake. Cause after the kids food came out, again the server doesnt come by any more.I had to hint for thr chip guy and ask him to take my order. He said he cant and would call the server.Im literally trying to wave and hunt down my server.I was seconds away from going to the front and asking for a manager but just then the server comes and asks for the adults order.Arghhh frustration.
Wow! I LOVED my experience at Lopez! From the moment I walked in I could feel that EVERY single person was thankful that I was there and genuinely wanted me to have a wonderful experience. Genuine hospitality is unfortunately a rare experience in our world today, so it was so refreshing to experience it here! Thank you Lopez family and team for working so hard for excellence in every detail of your business and building something generational they will last.
The food here is really good. This was my first time visiting this location, I usually go to the one on Wilcrest. Both of them have great service and the food taste exactly the same. I like this location better, it seems more modern and opened. I will still continue to visit both establishment. Its been 20 years since the grand opening of the new building. The food was good then, and its better now.
Amazing restaurant from the excellent service to the delish food you really must visit this tucked away spot. Today we had the Chile con queso appetizer that was fantastic and filling so I hope to try something different each visit and we will definitely be back. Located just to the left side at Gallery furniture you can’t miss it.
The food at Lopez has become ultra-boring. Absolutely no flavor to anything now, as they seem to be catering to white-folks who like bland food. Lopez was always on the edge of boring, but they have gone all-out flat to accommodate the milk-toast habits of Richmond. I will not be returning, and highly suggest Pablos instead. Anywhere else really.
Frozen ritas were good and sopapillas. On the rocks had almost no flavor of lime or alcohol. Food is TexMex and pricey which is why I rated it a 3. I am biased. I know MEXICAN food and honestly do not care for Tex-Mex from 97% pf places. Their charros were not good. Tasted like tomatos. The beef fajitas were nothing special. The wait staff compares its food to Gringos...red flag. Other than that limited tequila selections, nice interior and staff. Will go back for drinks and chips.
First time visit for my wife and I at this location on Grand Parkway. Its been a year now with this pandemic and this Lopez restaurant does an excellent job keeping everyone safe. We go out a lot and noticed more and more restaurants are getting a little soft with their sanitation procedures. Not here. This is what we observed. An employee opens the door for you coming and going, hand sanitizer as you walk into the dining area, tables are spaced out, all employees were wearing masks AND gloves. Tables are first wiped down with a cloth dipped in water (maybe bleach and water?) and then they actually use a disposable sanitizer cloth to wipe off the table. Weve never seen this before. We were seated immediately and greeted by our waiter. We placed our drink orders along with some guacamole for starters. The guacamole was very creamy with no large chunks of avocado in it (I hate that). We both order the beef fajita tacos. Three stuffed full tacos for $17. Fair price. The beef was cut in cubes and had a nice flavor. We opt for charro beans instead of refried beans. The beans had a great flavor but there was more liquid than beans. Rice was good. The chips were ok, but not the best weve had. Salsa was very watery. Service was excellent and attentive for the entire meal. All the employees were nice and friendly. For the most part, we were please with this Lopez. Even with the few things we didnt like I still give them 5 stars. Good job management!
The staff was really nice & the restaurant was clean. The menu also seemed to have a lot of options. However, the quality of the food, particularly the fajita chicken and rice, was very poor, so much so that I couldn’t eat more than 1 fajita soft taco. The rice just tasted off and the chicken was flavorless and had an interesting texture/chewiness. I don’t think I’ll be back.
Super authentic Mexican food. I have eaten at almost every Mexican restaurant in Houston and neighboring cities. And they could very well have the best enchiladas anywhere. Very reasonably price. Their lunch specials are wonderful their house margarita is potent and a very fair price. Launch for you plus one with margaritas should not exceed $30. Servers are always very sweet. I recommend adding steak for heat it to your enchiladas it will change your life. I wish they were open Sundays. The enchiladas are so good I literally have not had. Else on the menu
I love this place!! It is one of the most handicapped accessible restaurants I have frequented!! I first became acquainted with the newly opened location when my mother moved to a newly opened assisted living facility lovely no facility nearby (I live out of town and my brother lives in Richmond). She has since relocated to a new living facility which is not as convenient, but we had occasion to visit again yesterday. They are just as gracious, attentive, and thoughtful as always and the food is great! Kudos to Lopez! Thank you!! Jeana Hearn
We love Lopez as a family we normally frequent the one in the Stafford area but this location albeit beautiful was not so friendly, we came right after my daughters high school graduation for dinner and yes we were a large group but we did not feel the friendliness. We had drinks with our dinner and the guy that took our order was rushing us to order he walked off before I could even tell him my drink order. I will continue visiting their other location much friendlier staff there makes you feel like family, not a quick sale.
I went to the original as a kid. Always loved it.I went to the new place across the street a few times. It’s good. Not amazing, but good.I went to the new place inside Gallery Furniture yesterday for lunch. Food was good. Tacos are like a tostada/taco hybrid. Hard to eat without a huge mess, but again, good. Two issues:The waiter apparently bathed in Axe body spray. We literally had to wait until he was gone for a moment to eat so we didn’t taste his cologne.Second issue, which seems small, but irked me. The menu says tacos $8.50. We both got the same thing. The waiter asks if we want cheese... on a taco? Of course we do!I got the bill, and our plates were $9.25 ea. I paid, and I tipped. On the way out I asked why the difference in menu/receipt price.... the girl at the counter asked if I had cheese... on my TACOS... she explained that that was the difference. Now look... I get that you have to pay for that really nice building, but at the cost of customers?I realize we are talking about $1.50 difference for 2 meals, but the PRINCIPLE of you hiding your prices and NEVER mentioning that there was a surcharge... for TACOS THAT SHOULD COME WITH CHEESE, will make me never eat there again.Too bad, it’s a nice place with decent food, but there are a babillion nice Mexican restaurants that don’t deceive their customers.
Ive eaten at the Lopez Mexican Restaurant on Wilcrest many times before. Ive seen this one many times while traveling down 99. We finally decided to stop and eat at this one.We were slightly disappointed. It was not a particularly busy afternoon. The service was pretty slow, the food was just warm and it just seemed off.The Wilcrest location has always impressed us. Not just with the hot, reliable high quality of the food but with the teamwork of the staff. Everybody there helps everybody and its made every trip there a success. We may try this one again but probably not.
First of all I dont understand why you would open up a restaurant to the public if it wasnt a hundred percent complete? There was a 50 minute wait and when we asked about our table they finally gave us one it was in the very back of the restaurant by the entrance to Gallery Furniture so every 30 seconds you had people walking in and out it was a horrible experience. The waitress that was helping everybody with their drinks was more of a waiter than our actual waiter. There was nowhere to sit while we were waiting for our table for 50 minutes. There was a limited menu as well. And this is well over three weeks that theyve been open. I like the old location better!
Had a party of about 30 on a Saturday night for a birthday party. There were families with young children in our party. Most people had 2-3 drinks and ordered food. Service was great until we ordered another drink and the manager came over and said our entire party could no longer order anymore drinks. We were aggravated and confused but just asked for our checks. 45 min later we still had no checks because they had no idea what anyone had ordered and could split the checks up. Which make me wonder how they could say we drank too much when they have no clue what we had. My wife and I personally had fajitas and 3 margaritas total. We just wanted to pay an leave which was apparently too difficult so they eventually threatened to call the police due to our aggravation and then just told us to leave without paying. Will never go back. Food was mediocre.
We enjoy Lopez restaurant as often as we can. The staff is always friendly and the food is always great! I think itd be a good change to their menu to have a-la-cart options already priced out. We tried to order items to go by the pound or volume and ended up ordering a few plates from their menu instead. In the end we needed to be able to let items sit a while before serving (guests ran later than expected) and cold items (guacamole & pico de gallo) were packaged with hot items (rice and beans) and it wasnt easy to refrigerate the cold and heat the hot. In the end the meal was great and everyone enjoyed it!
Excellent Restaurant & the food & the service is AWESOME!The Ower, is the most kindest individual, u will ever meet!We accidentally locked our car keys, within our car.And this loving, caring Owner of the restaurant, was kind enough 2 help us & have someone unlock our door.Ooh! What a blessing, he was 2 us, that day.Now each time, I visit his restaurant, I look forward, in talking & seeing him.Im truly, very grateful unto him and give him hugs, each time I see him.4 being such a kind, sweet & caring individual, unto us.I pray, that the Lord will 4ever keep his hands upon him.And bless him greatly & keep him safe always.4 showing such kindness, unto strangers, he just meet.May his business, prosper beyond his dreams.I Highly recommend this Restaurant, in every way!
Terrific Mexican food. Salsa was superb and a really spicy taste. Ordered chalupas and they are the best of class. Everything was super fresh. The cheese was a little sharp which was perfect for combination with the beans and cheese and lettuce and tomato combined with the extra fresh corn tortillas. I am surprised at how good this restaurant is. If you are visiting Gallery Furniture this is a perfect place to enjoy lunch or supper. Other dishes at our table were also excellent. Flautas and Mexican plate were also best of class.
Me and a group of friends dined hear tonight and it was honestly very disappointing. It was very obvious that one of our servers was new and the other server was very discombobulated resulting with a lot of forgotten drinks, refills, and even food. When the food did come out, visually it was unappetizing and underwhelming compared to the description on the menu and no matter how much I tried to put salt & pepper on my dish it was still very bland, but I will admit the rice was very good. We weren’t asked how was our food was or if we needed anything else until majority of us were finished. Then to top it we were basically kicked out of the restaurant by “security” in a very rude manner. Yes I admit we were still in the restaurant around 20 minutes after closing time but we were actually gathering our belongings to leave, so the way we were talked too was very unprofessional and upsetting. The only thing thing that was good about our experience here was the cake that we brought and being able to hangout with one another.
***Update***Since my first review, I ate my leftovers from this restaurant. Upon my second taste of the food, I dropped the rating from 3 stars down to 2 stars. I wont be returning to this restaurant.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Eh... The restaurant was okay. The first thing I noticed was the minimal decor and lack of color (Plain white walls.) I had lunch there, and if there were any specials, I missed them. I thought it was a bit pricey for the quality of food I received. My chile con queso puff consisted of a pre-made shell with Velvetta drizzled over it. (There were some bits of bell pepper mixed into the Velvetta. I guess that qualifies as queso.) The taco was also a pre-made shell and was just okay.My cheese enchilades were okay, with the same velvetta (mixed with a chili-type sauce.) The rice was a bit bland and unexciting. The re-fried beans were nothing special. This restaurant is not near my home, which is fine by me. There are plenty of better Mexican restaurants closer to home. I doubt I will ever return to Lopez Mexican Restaurant. I might if I ever decide to buy some boring-brown-furniture from Gallery Furniture.I will say that my server did an excellent job!
AVOID!! Go to Pablo’s Mexican Kitchen (1.5 miles from this place-literally down the street. AND SO WORTH IT!). This place is not only bland but food tastes like it was under the heat lamp for awhile. Brought the family here after hearing from friends but I think they were talking about the one in Houston. This place is terrible. Just no.
Good restaurant near the theater and Richmond area. Located in the Gallery Furniture, and used to be a different restaurant... Mexican food is good... Staff is overwhelmed and they rush you out a bit... Its ok if you have tickets to watch a movie, but there is a big rush. Not a big menu selection but fajitas and enchiladas are good... Coffee is good too.
Grand Opening was amazing! The restaurant and staff provided amazing hospitality, provided outstanding service, and amazing food! What more can you ask for. My family has always enjoyed Lopez on Wilcrest/59 and with the new location only 10 minutes away, we will be returning often. You guys have customers for life!
Was very disappointed in this restaurant. We have never eaten here before and will probably never come back. The waitress was excellent but the food was horrible. We ordered chicken fajitas and queso which both had absolutely no flavor. Very bland food and the chicken had a funny after taste. I ended up only eating the chips and salsa and a tortilla with sour cream only on it. Was still hungry when we left as I could not eat the other food . Will stick with Lupe Tortilla they never disappoint!!!!
Lopez @ Grand Parkway has declined in quality since they have reopened. The wait staff was not organized and we kept having two different waiters asking us the same questions, pushing us through our lunches. The meal was served with cold ground beef in both tacos. The only hot meal was the chimichanga and that was expected to be hot as it is deep fried. $60.00 later in a time when money is tight.
So happy they opened up this location! I have been going to Lopez since I was a little kid (when it was still in the strip center in sugar land). The new location did not disappoint. Still the same great food and the best salsa & margaritas. My family and I will definitely be regulars!!
Finally made it to Lopez. We had to wait a couple of months for the crowds to die down. Was greeted and seated immediately. Very nice staff. My husband had a burrito with fajita beef. I had the chalupas which were not chalupas-they we’re tostadas-the difference is in the type of tortilla. The margaritas were fine if not small, the prices were moderate. Anyway we’ll keep looking for good restaurants and may or may not come back here.
This place is always extremely packed and the food is just alright. It’s sort of “americanized” as some would say, but I don’t hate that. The service is usually great and I give it an extra star because of the dessert truck on the outside, that thing is cheap and delicious!
The hostesses were horrible. I walked in and about 6 of them were just standing and talking to each other at the front desk and proceeded to completely ignore us. They didn’t even ask how many people there were in our party, one of them just left the group and stared at us until we followed her. Didn’t even welcome us. The food was okay but the beans were kind of dry. The server was okay though
For those of us who have been going to the original Lopez for more years than we care to admit (1978 for us)...we know what an amazing restaurant this is. For those of you going to the new location for the first time and have some complaints...please be patient. I know the Lopez family well enough to know they will iron out all of the kinks. Just please give them time!! This is the one place I can take my whole family (12 of us)....have great food and the absolute best margaritas without having to break the bank. You will never meet a better family than the Lopez family!!!!!!! We Lopez regulars are a loyal bunch!!! We moved from Houston to Fulshear so couldn’t be happier the new location is closer to us!!!
Awesome as usual! Even the imaginary goofy make everybody scream into the night kovid hysteria cant keep Lopez down! The service was fast, they were friendly, good bar drinks filled, and the enchiladas were to die for! Highly recommended anytime you get a chance to go there covid or no covid.
This restaurant is beautiful!!! Ive never seen staff clean so thoroughly!!It was like you could eat off the floors!!This restaurant exceeded my expectations! The food taste the same as the Lopez off Wilcrest and 59 but it was the cleanliness of this restaurant that had me awestruck!!
Great place! Great food! GREAT BARTENDERS! My gf and i come regularly and sit at the bar and enjoy some delicious food like the paloma salad and the chicken verde enchiladas. Brie and Jill are always so accommodating and great! ESPECIALLY cause I like my special seasoning on my chips and my margaritas with malibu. So great!!! We love Lopezs!!!
Im definitely disappointed in the food served here. If Taco Bell can present a burrito served better than this place then we have a problem. Gallery Furniture should of kept the original restaurant. No comparison to Victors cantina. I sent my order back and left without eating.
Top Shelf Margarita was $11. I paid with a 20 and the bartender had the nerve to ask if I wanted change. Salsa was good and had a little heat, but was too watery for my liking. Quacamole was very good. Had the Pollo Qui Qui Ri Qui. Flavor was good but chicken was super dry. My wifes chicken fajitas were dry too. All in all not bad. Ive got 3 children and we couldve gotten out of there for under $50 if I didnt have 3 margaritas.
Best mexican restaurant in the whole katy Richmond area. Love the service and manager was very attentive to make sure NO ONE in the restaurant needed something. Food is a 10 out of 10. Tortillas are home made so thats a plus! Because I know youve dealt with smelly package flour tortillas from other mexican restaurants. The salsa isperfect, not too spicy and has the perfect taste. I reccomend getting Chile con queso and adding ground beef to it! Thanks Lopez I will definitely be coming back with my family. Ive also recommended you to my co workers!
I visit the wilcrest/59 location often. My Wife, Aunt, Son and I decided to try the new location. The food was exactly as I hoped for, just like the original location. Fantastic! Our waiter was attentive and engaged (4pm saturday). But the big selling point for all of us was that it is a lot more quiet than the wilcrest location. Go get you some Tex-Mex! (Yall can pay me in queso..)
First time coming herw ane i am blowned away! Food was really good! We ordered fajitas for 2 with steak and chicken and they were cooked to perfection! Flour tortillas are home made and are so authentic. Sraff were vert attentive and made sure we never needed anything!

Walked into low occupancy restaurant. With multiple open tables. Greeter said, Only two?. The greeter walked me and my spouse to rear of restaurant to a table on wall near kitchen. I asked for another table. The greeter walked me one table over. I selected a more desirable table. I thanked the greeter. Who turned saying You are welcome without addressing me directly. I asked for a manager who said he was sorry.
My husband and I came here tfor dinner o celebrate our wedding anniversary. ..big mistake!I was told by the hostess that it was 45 minutes wait! After an hour, I was told that it would be another 30 minutes . Well, more than an 1 and half hours wait.....! I think that I done with the Lopez Restaurant experience!!!
Laughing at the post complaining about 45 min wait. Must have been someone that has never been to Lopez. When you go to one of if not the best and most popular Mexican restaurants in Houston you go to enjoy the full experience of local, friendly, highly knowledgeable of what it takes to be a top notch business. There is a reason that they have been in business for over 40 years now. Every single employee from greeters at the front door to waiters bartenders cooks dishwashers and cleaning crew you cant ask for a better line up! Just know going to Lopez you will be treated like family. Just drive around the Wilcrest location you will see many Mexican resturants but Lopez will always have a full parking lot.So be ready to enjoy a supurb dining experience with terrific food and drinks. Congratulations to Lopez on the grand opening of another goldmine on highway 99 in Richmond.

2022-02-17Outside and inside are both really nice looking, staff is also very friendly! Best thing about the food was the drinks though, pretty good drinks at a fair price. The fajitas unfortunately were some of the most bland tasting fajitas that I can remember having.

2022-02-21Stop the presses ! This is my new most favorite Mexican restaurant ! We stopped off because we noticed it right next to Gallery Furniture on I-99. A great stroke of good luck for us. The food is delicious. Everything we ordered was so very tasty, really delicious. The portions are really generous. The service is courteous and efficient. The drinks cold and yummy. We had a really swell time and highly recommend it to you !!!

2021-06-01We were in the area and stopped in. There are two locations. This is the second one.The food is not highly seasoned, we each had our own salsa bowls and the employees were friendly. It is the first Tuesday in June, which means that Lopez is celebrating its anniversary all day by selling several of their dishes at the prices of when they first opened!

2022-08-06Someone needs to make a run to pu seasoning. They mustve run out when making our food. Pretty sure the shredded chicken was canned. I did give an extra star for the beef. It was the only thing seasoned, had flavor and was tender. Service was good.
