Los Tapatios in other cities:
So I was totally stalked by multiple roaches at my table..I had to get my food to go. Dirty disgusting menus post covid 🤢 which is probably, why the roaches are bad..I can only imagine the cleanliness of the kitchen. Cocktail was good, chips and salsa good..But after the invasion of the ranches. I will not be going back.
Mas o menos, Bien servicio, la comida no mucho.Service was quick and accurate, they gave us a table right away.Drinks and food arrived quick too, however the food was meh, I ordered Arrachera & shrimp meat was chewy and eww, shrimp was ok.My daughter ordered beef milanesa and it was not good at all.
First time, great time! Great food!Food:App, chips and salsa, different salsa, never had anything like it. Spicy, creamy and lots of seasoning.Entree, I got a Burrito with Chille Rojo (Pork red sauce). Big & tasty and couldn’t resist ordering second.Service: Came in with a big crowd from a conference, they were swamped. They performed flawlessly. Got drinks and apps out quickly, took orders efficiently, kitchen out did itself!Friendly staff!Price: Reasonable, great food so it was worth it!Establishment: Dated but well taken care of, clean!I am so glad I came here for lunch.**** Please come and patron this great location!
Gave this place a try and let me first say The pasole was soooo damn good!! Lol I was not a big fan of the Barbacoa tacos but All of the food was steaming hot and fresh!! The salsa omggg! It was so fresh and it had a little kick to it🌶 definitely Not a big fan of the service...But check them out if you haven’t already, they did not disappoint!
This place is pretty good. Its been only my second time to visit but I wish I had found them sooner.I had a stuffed pineapple which was delicious. Its the first time I had seen something like this so I decided to order. It did not disappoint. The chips and salsa are great and if you get a drink to go, I had tea, it comes in a big cup.Definitely going to continue visiting and trying other dishes.
I tried their Menudo and I am one picky Pregnant Eater, AMAZING!! No grease, very clean and this was a SMALL! Everything was so fresh and came out very quickly. The ladies greeted us so politely and adjusted their Spanish to English, our waitress was the sweetest! I asked for a ton of things and she had a smile on her face the whole time. The other waitress was sweeping the floor and wiping down everything, tables, windows, front doors and organizing the cashier stand. I will definitely be enjoying more food here, the prices are to die for!! Bravo ladies, I was very impressed. 8/19/19
First our waitress could notunderstand me or my wife when we ordered cause I ask for unsweet tea and my wife asked for sweet tea but that brought her unsweet then I told her beef on the enchiladas and my told beef on the chimichanga then after a little bit as we was waiting she came back and asked me if I want a beef or chicken on the enchiladas what I told her beat and I want a chili riano on the side that she didnt understand that cuz she brought me some type of fried chillies so I didnt order that so she had to go get another waitress over there right or what I wanted they got that part right but well come out it was cold and cheese not even melt it was not even cook so I could not even eat it they said it will take off many but I still would not recommend this restaurant Ill give him a zero if I could is way too much money for the price of the food what it taste like it wasnt that great Im not going to go back
First time after driving past for ages , the waitresses had chips and salsa on our table faster than we could sit down I was very pleased. I had the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas They were very good. Next time I want to try the Carne Guisada. I should have tries this place sooner I am going back as soon as I can.
First time visitor. Entry into the restaurant is on the highway side of the building. Excellent service by attentive staff. I had the tacos al carbon with flour tortillas. The beef was tender and entire plate was reasonably presented. Hot sauce had hearty texture, which I prefer. Good value for money.
The service here is so sweet. The servers are bi-lingual and are very attentive. I had a plate of three different enchiladas y que ricos! The table hot sauce has nice pica and the chips are crisp and yummy 😋Oh! THE ICE TEA is the best I have ever had!!! Whoever made it on 03.18.21 KEEP DOING IT!
Okay restaurant...clean enough inside, the restroom was dirty, and not in service. No sign on door. The service was bad, considering its COVID-19, she wasnt the only waitress, and they were kinda busy, but not too busy. The food was alright, just like, I could have made at home, being the food was pretty basic. I know Ive had better, but still alright. Our party of 5, got fajitas (chicken and a steak), bean burrito, and a number 42. All were okay, kinda small proportions. The rice was too bland. Salsa was good, had a lil kick. Chips were kinda brown, from overcooking. Sorry, no photos were taken. I tried this restaurant, but not going to go back. I was in state visiting family. People can try, they just themselves, they may like the near blandness of Mexican/Spanish tastes, and if youre not that hungry.
The waiter was really nice and the food is very good with decent prices. Also if you live Flan this is the place. The owner helps cook the food and the wait was not long. I think the serving size is a good amount as well. You will not be disappointed. I will be going back.
I used to love this place but the last couple of times Ive been here with my husband Ive been very dissapointed with their food and service I have to wait for awhile to get the waiters attention and there food is either too dry or just doesnt taste right or not cooked all the way IDK if they switched cooks or what but it aint how it used to be 😕
Good authentic food. This visit bought a tray of rice for my party. It was made perfectly... last time I bought a tray in LA was sticky.. was perfectly cooked. If you cook rice... you understand.. under or overcooked is bad juju..Friendly place .. staff is friendly and food is well prepared and served!!!
Good food and good service. I went on a Wednesday evening. It was a little busy but we were able to get a table right away. The first table we tried to sit at had a bunch of crackers on the floor so we decided to sit at another one.We ordered the chicken fajita nachos and a bean, rice and cheese burrito to share. The food was really good, however my son wished the burrito was a little bigger. Also the nachos seemed to have more toppings than chips on the plate but we just used the rest of the chips left from the chips and salsa basket. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Overall a good experience. I will be back soon.
I went there for breakfast this morning. Upon entering the staff was not very welcoming, however the place was clean and looked nice. As I sat down I was not offered any menu, I had to get one myself. After ordering my meal I noticed how nice the staff was to other customers as they entered the establishment. However I am not of Hispanic decent and the staff definitely made sure I knew that with the way the greeted all the other customers. I ordered a meal and left. Once i got to work I discovered how horrible my food was. The breakfast I saw on other customers plate and the one I purchased were in no way similar. This was my first time but fortunately this is my last due to the lack of and the poor food I paid for.
The wife and I were looking for a place to enjoy a 24th anniversary dinner when we learned that our original planned visit to a different restaurant was not going to happen. What a pleasant surprise to have found this gem. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great value for really good food.
Food was below average and the place was over-priced. Ordered beef fajitas and the meat tasted more like pot roast than seasoned fajita beef. Their salsa was average, but a bit too salty. Nothing about the meal was that great. It was edible. All their menu items are a little over-priced too. Wont be eating there again.
Just had the 2nd bad experience with Los Tapatios, and my last. I will not return here again. They are ridiculous with call in orders. They have lost them twice. Probably not even writing them down. I have dined in here before, and the service is very slow, and their fountain drinks are always flat. They do not know how to properly run a food business. There are plenty of other Mexican food restaurants around this area. I seriously suggest any other one besides them.
We came here once and it was very average. Not a lot of flavor going on with the dishes. The usual flavorless rice and beans came along with our meals. The atmosphere is kind of cheap-feeling in there. Nothing to make me want to come back again. Theres definitely better mexican food in the area than this place.
Great authentic Mexican food, owner operated, fresh ingredients daily , great people fast service, food is great, lots to choose from, great for a quick lunch. Easy in and out big oarking area. Right off highway. Clean, friendly staff never had a bad meal here. Definitely worth a stop if in the area
Nice TexMex. Go here couple times each month for lunch. - Revised 07.12.19. For the past 5 years my wife and I have been coming here for lunch. Occasionally we have to order take-away due to our time constraints. Historically we have always been given a token of chips and salsa with our meals, whether or not we have a sit down meal, or take-away. Today however, there was a petty decision on their part to tell us that chips are not included on take-away orders, and if we wanted chips that would be extra. OK fine, keep your hand full of chips, but you also eliminate our repeat business for good. Adios!
Cute atmosphere inside, salsa and chips above average, a shrimp cocktail full to the brim not just on the rim, checked on often but did take a good while until food came (restaurant was full). Carne Quisada very tender and flavorful. A little pricey but overall good experience.
Excellent food. Great margaritas. The salsa is ok but the chips are a little heavy/salty. You do have to watch out because they will definitely upcharge you for any extras. For instance, my husband got an ice tea but didnt care for it so asked for a coke instead. Well they charged us for both and wouldnt budge.
Really like the fun, friendly service. Very casual atmosphere & easy to get in and out.Great food, fast and very tasty. One of my favorites, beside the delicious tacos is the Menudo!! Love that Los Tapatious offers menudo every day!Wife loves the Caldo De Res..Very tasty!Chips and Salsa are always plentiful..Shrimp cocktail and Margaritas are pretty awesome too...
I always pass this place coming from work and I decided to stop in and give this Mexican restaurant a try. First off you get a lil basket of chips and salsa. The chips where a small amount as if tho .....they only had enough for each guest . Than I ordered Chilaquiles with the green salsa . Ok so it comes to my table and I notice its the same chips ! The same ones they bring out the first time to you with the Salsa and chips the only difference is that they pour the green salsa and hot cheese all over it! Wow! It really seemed as tho someone was being lazy in the kitchen and well I wont be going back .
Weve been going to Los Tapatio restaurant for a few years. They are down the road (Hwy 67) from Costco and every couple of months we treat ourselves to lunch after Costco shopping. They have been consistent in the quality of their food. If youre looking for good Tex Mex you wont be disappointed.
I give one star I dont know if that matters to the owner, but the people whos working in that place are very very very unprofessional. They not even know how to take an order. Next time I am gonna revise everything before take an to go otder. Plus the food is not fresh. Everything is cold they just heat up in the microwave.
1st time coming, walked in, didnt know if I can sit myself or someone would sit me. There were only 4 tables being used and 2 waitresses at the register. After 1min of standing I got their attention and told me I could sit anywhere, and I did. 15min later, still no service from anyone. Walked out and left. Never again! It doesnt matter how good the food is if the service is bad.
Los Tapatios Restaurant is long time favorite of ours. The food is great and service is just as great. Authentic Mexican food with a touch of spice. Flavorful and filling, anything you choose will be filling. From the excellent Menudo to the Huevos Devorcado, both a personal favorite!
I would have given this place 5 stars, but as I reviewed my check when I got home I was surprised to learn that I was overcharged $ 5.24. I asked for Pico De Gallo in my Big Quesadilla was charged 1.99 was not told up front. Also, was not told upfront that extra servings of chips was 75 cents. AND, my husband and I got there 3 minutes before Happy Hour and they charged us full price for Frozen Margaritas. REALLY!!!!! Talk about nickle and dimeing you to death. The food was great though but this was a complete turn off for me.
This is not the Los Tapatios I usually go to, but it was close by. I went in for a to-go order and it took over 30 minutes to get it. Mind u there was nowhere to sit & wait so I had to stand up the whole time! The hostess must have felt sorry for such a long wait and offered me a drink. Despite the wait I was still willing to leave a tip, but the hostess refused to take it! Hmm...
Coffee was a little bit watered down and my wifes eggs were undercooked. My meal was alright but the water tasted like tap water. The salsa for the chips was cold out of the fridge and it tasted like it was left uncovered on a smelly fridge. Location is severely outdated outside and inside.
Went to eat tonight manager SHARON was VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, had to get up and wave her down to come to our table and she ignored us and ask her want to order some sopapillas she snap at us and said kitchen close. But the waiter came and said what did i want to order i told him sopapillas and he order them i told him forget it because SHARON kept saying kitchen close. Stated the customer is never right. VERY RUDE PERSON and she is the manager. She needs to grow up and have some training on how to treat the customers.
After the Waxahachie Location closed I was sad, It was by far the saddest closing I had ever Witnessed, And then our family found this, almost as great as the other location, good food, fast service, and pretty good food, my only complaint is that it felt less homey than the Waxahachie one, but that is expected due to this restaurants size by comparison, if you want goodTex-Mex, this is highly recommended!
The food was just ok not the best bet ok services was average i would have like to get some more chips bet i did not see the waitress untill my food came out than left i was trying to get the attention of anyone of the waitress to order tortillas bet whan thay finally came i was done eating never coming back.

2021-12-27Extremely clean dining area. Complementary chips and salsa (really good by the way). Attentive staff, great authentic meal and cocktails! You have to try a margarita if you dine in! It will make a good day better! I will definitely be back!I noticed they also serve breakfast on the menu and the lunch was so good I have to give their breakfast a try!

2022-03-28AMAZING FOOD!! Great experience from the beginning til it was time to pay. Our waitress Genesis was very sweet & attentive towards us and all her other tables. She kept coming around to make sure we were okay or needed anything. Prices are worth the taste of this delicious food. Very happy with our dinner tonight, compliments to the chefs! & thank you Genesis for making this a great experience as our first time here.

2022-02-05Went on a Saturday afternoon. It was a little crowded but we got seated right away. Service was great and food was delicious. I had the small menudo and two barbacoa tacos. Lots of meat and both were excellent.

2022-01-10We recently moved to a new area and wanted to try a new place for Mexican food. This was a super great choice! Very clean and helpful. The food came very fast and was delicious. Try it out!

2021-11-11On a whim, we decided to have lunch here. We noticed that each time we drive by here, there are always a lot of cars here, which is a great sign as the outside of the restaurant could use some upgrades. This is definitely what you would call “A Dive joint.”We were immediately sat down and given warm, fresh corn chips and delicious salsa. The drinks were large 32 oz cups with crushed ice. The menu contained all of the traditional Mexican dishes. My wife was pleasantly surprised when she learned they had fresh Posole, as many Mexican places do not.The food came out and everything was great. We are definitely returning and would highly recommend to friends and family.

2021-09-13One of the better Mexican restaurants in Cedar Hill. The pozole rojo & pozole verde are delicious and usually my go to choices. Today we also tried the chilaquiles and it didn’t disappoint.

2022-02-09This place is good. Been here a few times with my family. It’s always busy and you do have to wait a while to be seated. The customer service has been good so far. The food is also good but it depends on what you get. The only thing I would say that is not necessarily problem would be that when it’s a large party, even though everyone is paying separately they include the 18% tip on everyone’s bill and they don’t tell you that. So regardless If the service is good or bad you still end up automatically paying the 18%. Other than this, it’s a nice little place.

2022-01-06Im really disappointed because I just paid 40$ on a meal. One of them was $15 and they literally didn’t put any meat nor beans and rice…I honestly could have made this myself….this meal is called bistec a la Mexicana! Like this is not going to fill up a grown man and especially not for 15$ freaking dollars! I could have gone to chili’s and gotten more for less! They also forgot to include my flour tortillas for my tortilla soup I had ordered. It’s really not worth eating out no more and this was supposed to be a treat for me and my boyfriend. Not Returning here again anymore. Please don’t waste y’all’s times coming here and it’s always packed so I don’t understand the hype.

2021-09-09That’s what you get if you order to pick up , my 5 year old daughter didn’t had enough food , the pozole taste great but every time I order to pick up that’s what I get and if you told the ladies something about get a decent amount of the meat the get mad, I think the owner should be ashamed about the service they give you on cedar hill location , every time I go I get 4 to 5 orders of pozole I even give them a tip even for pick up order and last time I only had one order with a decent amount of food in the cup I guess I had to keep remaining the staff to learn how to serve food in a cup
