Great park. I’ve rated it 5 stars based on its location, price and general campground cleanliness. Paved sites would have made this place a 5+. The town of Alpine is very nice. All of our utilities at the park worked great. Good WiFi and good water pressure. Power voltage was within our EMS good range. The park has lots of pine trees. I’m still finding pine needles in my car and motorcoach. The days we were there they had a huge dirt truck delivering dirt to the back of the park. That guy must have drove by 50 times in 2 days. He was careful but still a little dusty and noisy. Otherwise it was a great stay.
Stayed here two nights in early November, 2021. Staff was friendly and accomodating, all sites are pull-trough, FHU and fairly large. Ours was very level. Best WiFi I can remember ever having in an RV park, and we were a long way from the office! Park is well maintained and was very quiet. A good value.
Were new to RV camping and LARV was our first experience outside state parks. The staff could not have been more helpful with getting us into our space and making sure we knew how everything worked. The restrooms were immaculate. There was a nice outdoor picnic table at every spot as well as Water, cable, electricity, and an outdoor lamp. Staff also had advice on where to eat, and what to see in the Big Bend area. Wonderful.
Lost Alaskan is such a wonderful campground. I cannot recommend it strongly enough.I was talking to the owner about the bathhouse. It is so clean, I asked if it is newly renovated. The answer - its over 20 years old, but it was acid-cleaned recently and it was spotless during my stay. This owner commitment shows throughout the park.I climbed a nearby hill above Sul Ross University and looking down on the town of Alpine, Lost Alaskan was clearly visible - it was identifiable by the pine trees that shade the site.If RVing in Alpine, your choice is clear, stay at the Lost Alaskan and you will be very happy.
Really nice people here and an amazing service. The place have a clean pool and even cleaner bathrooms if you need one outside of your RV. If you want to remember this place, theres a gift shop with a lot of cool stuff. And finally, but not less important, you will have the best neighbors ever!
Prices are great got a pull thru $34.00 a night. Check in was 12PM on Saturday May 6th. Electric both 50/30Amp, Water, Sewer, Cable, and free Wi-Fi. What else can you ask for. Showers for both Men and Women. Laundry room, outside patio near office, inside reading areas, and a outstanding dog run. I would stay again for sure. Lots of space to walk around. They have a pool and tent camping. Had a great time and met some outstanding people. Also Im a new RVer, had a great experience. Make the best of any situation, remember we can all spot the negatives but the positives makes better stories
Lost Alaskan is a nice place to spend a few days!! The view of the mountains is beautiful. The premium sites are great. There were a few things that were disappointing to us. we could not hang any lights on the trees or any stakes on the ground. Its understandable I know that every rv site has their rules. Not enough lighting in the evening. Other than that if you are passing through this would be the place to come in Alpine!! As always my pumpkin had a great time barking at everyone!!
Clean, neat, friendly staff who guided us to our site, told us of the local attractions and generally made us feel very welcome. Restrooms including the showers were very clean water pressure was very good and the water was good and hot. Even the passing train was quiet and considerate, amazing.
I would give this place 20 stars !!!!!! My husband and I traveled there for a week in 2012 on our way to Alaska for the summer! Upon arrival we had a problem with the hydraulic jacks on the motorhome and had to find the nearest place to get fixed. These people credit our weeks stay because it wadnt going to happen. Wonderful place and incredible peopke!!!!!
We stayed as part of an 15+ rig RV rally in Aug 2014 -- got great support, pricing, and accommodations from this park. Park is friendly, quiet, clean and well maintained; sites were level but could benefit from more shade trees. Nice rec room, laundry and clean showers. Will definitely stay here again.
Great place to camp with family. Very clean restrooms and showers. Very well maintained park. Pool and play ground are great. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful to any need you might have. This was our first trip to the Lost Alaskan but will definitely not be our last. We are already planning future trips.
We stayed at the Lost Alaskan RV Park in our RVIA certified Tiny Home. We really liked this RV Park! We also actually really liked the town of Alpine Texas which was kind of a pleasant surprise. We came here to see Big Bend National park but I can see coming back here for other things as well.We had a very nice site at the park and there are a lot of great pull through sites. Thank you so much for a great stay!
What a nice find. Great helpful staff and nice facility. Clean and well managed, the volunteer staff want to make your stay a good one. There are many full-timers here, but unlikensome other places that have long-term campers - this place doesnt allow them to have a bunch of junky stuff around their space. So you dont see all thatClean and hot showers, nice adult room where you can go watch the tele, charge your devices, stare at tu oir computer or just hang out.
Great park! Beautiful shaded sites - truly rare in West Texas - along with clean, well-equipped facilities and very friendly staff. Great location for exploring the Davis Mountains or before/after a sojourn southward to Big Bend NP. On top of that, the rates are very reasonable. Note that water is from underground faucets, not above-ground ones, so you cant easily just step out to the faucet to fill a bottle, etc if you arent hooking up to the water supply.
This park is RV heaven. Quiet, clean and beautiful, with lots of trees and grass. Air is fresh, and the mountain view cannot be beat. The pool is very well-kept, and the park is perfect for walking. Laundry is clean, showers are the best weve seen to date. Park staff is friendly and very helpful. Best of all, the visitors are as warm and friendly as they come. we had a starlit dinner with a group of laid-back, interesting tent dwellers (one young herpetologist taught us about vinegaroons while he played with one as if it was his pet), a very interesting chat with Neighbor Bill - a handsome older gentleman in a top hat and a fabulous motor home, and received a free movie from a Fandango fan visiting for their annual get-together. We even became friends with a charming local women who offered us excellent advice on route planning and who may join us in our adventures later. The town is special, with eclectic shops, great food (Reata for dinner (make reservations!), Judys Bread and Breakfast Bakery (OMG check out the artwork and make sure to speak with the radio personality/artist who buses tables!), and Thai-Way (its worth the wait but check the hours). Porters grocery stores have what you need and rate up there with the best, and the stone & jewelry shop next to Reatss has unusual stones, and almost everything else.We liked Marfa but we loved Alpine. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION
We stayed there in mid July. The weather was in the mid 80s with very low humidity. It even rain one afternoon. The park is very nice and the employees are professional and helpful. It was neat, very clean, lots of tall pines and easy to pull in and hook up. I would give them 10/10/10. It is nicely located for day (night) trips to: Marfa, Ft Davis, McDonald Observatory, Marathon, Presidio and Big Bend.
This is a great RV park. The staff is pleasant and very helpful. They guide you to your site and brief you on park rules. Each site is spacious and water pressure is great. The picnic table location is different. I would recommend this park to anyone visiting the Big Bend area.
Weve seen this park on a YouTube video and decided that we would stay here. When calling to reserve, Marlene who was the host at the time, was very courteous and extremely nice to my wife. We forgot to take into account the time difference, but Marlene and her husband were still at the office and escorted us to our space. They went out of their way to make our stay a good one. I wanted to rent a car, but there were none available in town. So Marlene and Sheryl Ubered us into town. They were so nice, like people used to be.Ive been considering moving to AlpineTexas to get out of California to retire; I would certainly consider The Lost Alaskan RV park in Alpine Texas a vacation destination and a reason to move here (as long as the inflow of liberals are kept to a minimum). We would definitely be returning here and recommending this park to our friends and family.Thank you Marlene, Sheryl and Marlenes husband (Sorry, names escape me), you were awesome.
5 Loud barking dogs all evening while we were trying to sit outside. Everyone that walked by was barked at especially when they were with their dogs. The same people had ducks in a cage. Not kidding. Appear to be permanent residents. This was on the A row with the premium sites. So much for premium sites. On the plus side nice sites and great location and park staff super nice.
Stayed here most recently March 2017. My favorite spot when Im in the Alpine area. Nice pull through sites, friendly staff, clean facilities, nice location convenient to explore Alpine or further afield. It is a commercial operation do sites are closer than a public campground, but the layout is reasonable.
Very friendly staff. We were there on Easter, the owners hosted a pot luck dinner, they furnished the Ham and Mashed Potatoes, campers were invited to come and bring whatever they wanted or not bring anything and enjoy the fellowship. After the dinner they had an Adult Easter Egg Hunt with eggs filled with candy and prizes. We had so much fun. The camp is beautiful, the only thing they lack and the suggestion I make is they need a hot tub, one that would be open year round.
The best place to park your RV in Alpine! The cleanest shower/bath rooms and laundry. You will find and the people who work there are great and very helpful. The owners are onsite and are immediately there if there is any issues or problems. Also, didnt have any issues with the flags that were flown at the entrance of the park. Its nice to see folks who arent afraid to show their beliefs to the world.
The only RV park around with a pool!!Great folksClean roomy parking spots, and lots of shade.Have been several times. And the bathrooms and showers were always clean.Downtown Alpine is 5 minutes away.Try the Reata restaurant, for supper, great food.Your not going to believe this, but try the Valero station on hgy 90, east side of Alpine. Lunch specials are awesome. We had green Chile enchiladas that were home made!!They do have cabins for rent and multiple tent sites.
Place is good , but. Managment old guy is really grumpy, this year prices on the roof , just weekly rates twice expensive that any on the area, cable ... 5 channels, water good if the connection works , electric connection jammed or dont work at all , this place its been on business for a long and still no upgrades
We stayed here as a base camp to explore Big Bend area, McDonald Observatory, Marfa lights, etc. Sites are flat and plenty big. Some shade trees. Had the basics we need (50 amp electric, water and sewer), wifi is decent for an RV park, and restrooms were clean. No complaints and will stay here again.
Ive been on a three month road trip and this is the best RV Park Ive stayed at. Ive been doing all tent camping so keep in mind I know nothing about the RV aspect. However, the staff was super friendly and helpful. The facilities were extremely clean and they give you mints when you check in!! Need I say more??
Clean restrooms, unlimited hot showers, quiet friendly park. Be aware of their rules which they read to you at check in. They are particular about their trees and grass and rightly so, for a park in the desert it is a standout. The park is convenient to the offerings of the Big Bend area of Texas including Sul Ross, Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, McDonald Observatory and the towns of Marathon, Marfa and Fort Davis. You cant go wrong here.
I am a biker with little tent.Ive done many many many many campings but I have to say... this was the best one:1. wifi everywhere2. showers where you dont have to push every 30 seconds for water3. little roof above tent4. cold swimming pool (good since you are in the desert)5. outlets next to the tent to charge gps, phone, battery, etc.6. good customer service

2022-06-27Nice park for west Texas. The pool is very chilly making it a great way to cool off from the summer heat. Pines are really nice especially if you can get under one of them. Internet was decent even when the park was full. Perfect spot to stay for exploring Alpine and beyond.

2022-03-19We arrived within an hour after office closing and our site information and directions are easy to find. After driving through dry Dusty Windy I-10 TX Highway the numerous pine trees on site were refreshing. There was a lovely dog park and the bathrooms were all clean and park well-maintained. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Great park for visiting the McDonald Observatory. Be sure to get your reservations for the star parties early!

2022-04-23The camp ground is fairly nice. We stayed there in late April and were very disappointed that the pool doesnt open until memorial day. It was very warn and a swim would have been refreshing. The employees were mostly nice. My husband was cooking breakfast outside and our dog pooped while he was doing this. An employee came by and was insistent that my husband clean it up immediately. He told the guy he would do it when he was done cooking. I found that very strange and gross that he wanted him to stop cooking to clean it up.

2022-03-22Great park. Level sites, clean, well managed. Great base from which to visit Ft Davis, McDonald Observatory and Big Bend. Love the murals all thru Alpine and they continue in the park. Nice services in town, too.

2022-04-13Nice place. Office is open 9-6. So if you arrive after that just find a spot and check-in in the morning. Tent spots have a cover over them but have 3 of gravel you will be sleeping on.

2021-09-07Outstanding RV park in Alpine. It is VERY family oriented and extremely quite in the evenings and night. The host are outstanding and willing to assist in any way possible. The lots are very level and flat. Cable and hook ups are easily done. Just be careful as this IS a desert area and goat heads are around. The dog park is small, but large enough for several K9s to play. Only thing to improve dog park would be water for tired pups. The park is located close enough to town, yet far enough away to enjoy the clear star filled nights.

2021-09-24Really liked this place. The hosts were super nice. The restrooms and laundry were spotless. 1 1/2 miles from from downtown Alpine a great place to hit restaurants, coffee shops, bars, hardware and grocery. A 1/2 hour from Marfa. Full hookups, wide spaces. We planned to only spend one night and went back a for a second. We are already planning another trip back there. Thank you!!
