Lounge Here in Dallas
Lounge Here in other cities:
Last Friday, my husband and I tried to come in for dinner. But we were greeted by a rude and aggressive hostess. It started with her stopping me while I walking to bar to ask if we enter through the correct entrance. She stopped and said what are you doing? Are you going to bar? Very off putting, especially since she didnt announce who she was. Then she argued with me about me putting our names on the virtual waitlist, resulting in me showing her the text message and email confirmation. After those interactions we decided to leave. She made it very clear we were not welcomed.I emailed the restaurant directly but they didnt respond.
Unexpected gem. Nice atmosphere and great food. We started with the chicken confete. Had the burger and linguini for the mains and ended with the lemon ice box cake.Everything was paced well, and service was great. Water glasses were kept full. Our booth was right below the air vent so it was very cold and a very strong breeze all through the meal. The place, though fairly small and intimate, was only half full, yet surprisingly noisy.I would recommend going. As most restaurants have really cut back on quality, the plating, prep, and food quality here and high.
Reservations are highly suggested. This is the best kept neighborhood secret in Dallas. Only 15 tables and a small bar that produces amazing seasonal dishes. Great cocktail menu, full bar and thoughtful wine list....these people love great meals! I always have the fried chicken confit and pan fried Brussels. Each of us had a different entree- fried ribeye, halibut, shrimp& grits, confit. Our friends had not been here yet and could not stop raving....Lounge Here is the real deal
I think the neighborhood people keep this little gem a secret...not sure how Ive never heard of this place before. Great vibe and drinks. Theres only a dinky sign that says here at the entrance..walked in not knowing about this place. Walked out knowing I was going to have to come back.
We had the mussels and the ribeye chicken, both were delicious and cooked to perfection. One of their specialty drinks, The Serious Man had a clear squared ice cube they purchase especially for that drink. The ambience inside was perfect but they also have outside seating.
Swanky, intimate retro spot amongst the sea of concrete Austin lookalike bars in Dallas. Has a nice Mad Men feel, with incredible food & appetizers to boot. Reservations recommended, though walk-in seating is available, as well. Parking available in the back. 10/10 would recommend.
This is a fantastic little spot. Everything was equally original and delicious. All the way from the mysterious crystallized hot sauce on the pimento cheese dip to the savory and garlicky goodness of the cauliflower fried rice. Also, the drinks were on point and the liquor options seem expertly curated, though Im not an expert. Awesome experience and atmosphere, will be back soon.
I came in late Saturday, and though the kitchen closes, they still had some snack type foods. My deviled eggs and cheese and meat Board were good, but, more importantly, my waiter was very kind, energetic, and accommodating. The vibe is that if a classy 70/80s bar with music to match. Definitely a place I’ll try when the kitchen is open.
Killer hangout atmosphere near Little Forest Hills in East Dallas. Chill 60s mid-cent modern appointed lounge with better than expected fare. Its packed most of the time but service is excellent so never felt like it was too crowded. Eclectic crowd just like the locals so high people watching factor if thats your thing. If parking is a problem at night, consider parking just north at the Richardson Bike Mart and walking 20 yards.
Tasty food. Its gotten expensive! Ordered a margarita. Was charged 21$ + 3$ for margarita prep??? Ive had french meals that were less than this.Waitress was proficient but lacked all personality.Overall, was it worth 220$ plus tip for 4 people? For American food not so much. This place used to be great. Its now loud, over priced and just not that great of service.
So glad East Dallas has a trendy bar like Lounge Here. My wife and I visited for the first time last night and had a great experience. The atmosphere is chic and inviting and from the outside you would never expect the hidden gem you will find inside. We did drinks and dessert and enjoyed everything we tried. The Texas Sun was our favorite drink and the flourless chocolate cake was very tasty!
Im scared to even write this review because I feel like this is a secret that not everyone deserves to know about. 🤫Great drinks, incredible food and service beyond compare. Its one of those places that my husband is still talking about this morning - talking about how incredible each of those elements was. My favorite was the fried chicken confit. We will be back.
Off the beaten path. The hidden gem is located in Dallas Garland junction. You don’t need the code word to get in yet (it reminds me of the lounges in NYC) but it gets very busy fast and reservations are a definitely recommended.Very cool vibe, mid century modern design, NOT a big place at all, but very cozy and inviting. Good food and drinks. A must see and try.
Our first experience was 50/50. The selection of drinks was great and The Serious Man and Texas Sun were fabulous. We ordered the Chicken Fried Ribeye and the Halibut & Succotash. With high expectations and anticipation, we were extremely letdown by the ribeye. It honestly smelled and tasted like sewage. However, the Halibut & Succotash dish was AMAZING. 5 STARS for that entree. The flourless chocolate pie was phenomenal. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was great. While disappointed with the ribeye, the rest of our experience was great and would recommend Lounge Here.
Omg YES😍 AMAZING romantic vibe (went here for 1 year anniversary), top quality service by Miss Tara, and food out of this world! I’m vegan and enjoyed the best brussel sprouts EVER here as well as a delicious beyond burger! My significant other (not vegan lol) enjoyed the chicken fried steak with macaroni & cheese and asparagus. The atmosphere was so perfect. Please come here.❤️
One of the best hidden gems in the Lake Highlands, White Rock Lake area is the beautiful Lounge Here. From the moment you step through the doors you will feel like you’ve been transported to a wonderful world where Mid Century design stood still, with some of the coolest people you could hope to dine with. The staff makes you feel like a part of the family, if your first timer or regular! For those of you who are like me, and love sitting at the bar, the Lounge here bar is cozy and elegant with some of the best cocktails in the city. Come hungry, because the food is amazing! See you at the bar xoxo Lorenzo
Very cool decor and polite waitress, I did not find the food & drinks very appetizing though, maybe we went on an evening when a different cook & bartender was there. Seeing mexican employees made the place look low end as if they were trying to be high end on low quality help, I had the impression that they were trying to deceive customers with the nice decor & artful meals that looked like a chef made it just to charge high prices so they could cover the cost of the building they are in, real estate in that area is expensive. The layout of the place is not good for a romantic date, its too small & noisy to have a private conversation.
The food was amazing! We had the avocado toast, veggie burger, and forest wild mushroom pasta. Ive never had better food. They ensured that our water glasses were always filled too. The atmosphere was very cool and relaxed. We got there around 5:45 pm on Saturday and waited less than 10 minutes before we were seated. I think we had just beat the dinner rush. Parking was very limited as every spot had a sign in front of it that says parking only for the other businesses and cars will be towed. We ended up parking in one of those spots hoping that we wouldnt get towed. Everyone must have parked in those spots too. It looked like the lounge had maybe 2 spots specially for the whole place. We will definitely be back!
Here is definitely the cozy place to land after a long work week. Theres no better place to be but Here if you are looking for a great vibe that inspires relaxation and conversation, while offering a creative menu(including cocktails). Many thanks to the staff for making our dinner experience one for the books!
What a great place, we loved the ambience, the lightning was perfect and the the music just right. Our bartender came over to introduce himself and made us feel very welcome, he had some great food suggestions. Chicken fried ribeye was one of the best I ever had and the shrimp arugula salad was delicious as well. Well be back for sure!
Drinks are amazing, food is delicious, atmosphere is on point. But, parking is painful and if you only plan to enjoy happy hour drinks and appetizers with friends, you will be politely and repeatedly encouraged to leave whether there are empty tables or not. You can sit here and eat a meal here, but you can’t lounge here.
Fun themed bar/restaurant. Fun drinks but took awhile to get. Food is yummy. Everything is a bit pricey. They have a good whiskey selection. Clean and cool environment that gets a bit loud during peak hours. I love the decor. Good for groups of 7-8 if you can get a booth. Small bar but great for meeting people.
Great atmosphere. Intimate dining experience. The food was excellent. As it got later in the evening it became increasingly difficult to carry on a conversation without shouting. That may have been our position in the center of the room sitting in the awkwardly spaced tables for 2. The space seems more conducive for smallish groups gathering in the booths that line the walls.
I love this place. Very unique. Good drinks. Good food. However they are terrible at turning over tables. My wife and I waited over an hour for a table. Yes they were busy, however the problem seemed to be with bussing larger tables and allowing smaller groups to take advantage if them. We watched 3 or 4 tables sit idle for 20 minutes at a time while we continued to wait. They need to get better about this. It makes the restaurant almost inaccessible on the weekends.
For those of you who are unaware and have passed by this place thousands of times, this is a beautifully-decorated speakeasy that might be a little difficult to find, might be some trouble finding parking, but...its amazing food, great service and worth the trouble. Always a favorite.
A group of girlfriends and I came here for a birthday dinner. This place is a gem. You would not think anything from the outside but once you walk in you will be amazed. The food was incredible. The booth setup was perfect for sharing plates. The service was layback and formal. The atmosphere was perfect for girls night out, family dinner, or a date.
This place is great! It has a dark, clean, retro vibe. Theres booths that sit against the wall and face inward, that can seat 4-5. Larger booths in the corners that can seat 5-6. In the center there are tables for 2, and seating at the bar.Good beer selection, they have Strongbow cider which is my favorite.I had the jalapeno mac and cheese, which I liked. Its not spicy, but it has a spice taste like cumin or smoked paprika. It comes with crumbled bar chips on top.The cheese board was tasty and came with a spicy mustard and honey. The bar chips tasted like crunchier Ruffle Chips.Overall, I really enjoyed it.
Good food and drink selection. Downsides are the layout of the tables. In the half oval booths you cant hear the people directly across from you ans the others arent looking at each other unless you turn your head. I feels like a 1970s dining car on a train. Also I frequently saw people waiting in line to use the restroom while the other is empty. They should just make both rooms unisex to save time. They were clean though which is good.
So let me first start by saying this is an incredibly cool, excellent place to eat and have some amazing cocktails. My husband and I went for dinner yesterday evening and ordered salmon and grits and both ordered the House Zombie cocktail. We received the shrimp and grits, which are delicious but we were looking forward to the salmon. We ate the shrimp and grits which we had before and loved, but our waitress and our manager went out of their way to send over some amazing pieces of salmon! We were so blown away! The attention to making things right was incredibly professional to us. The House Zombies were so yummy! Love this place if I could give more stars I would.
Friend was in town and we usually try something new. In our search, this place was close to him, and seemed to have decent reviews.Upon arrival, I was initially turned off by the location and barely bones appearance. However, once you enter everything changes. Drinks were great, food was excellent, and me and the wifey agreed this would be a suitable date night place for our next adventure.Enjoy!
A gem in East Dallas. It’s a fun and nice atmosphere while being relaxed and pretty quiet. I’m an old soul so that fits me well rather than yelling at my friends in some Lower Greenville spots. It’s become one of my wife’s and my favorite spots now. Excellent cocktails for $10-12. Fairly reasonably priced liquor list. The Brussels sprouts and deviled eggs are awesome. I love their burger and my wife loves the shrimp and grits.
YALL! This restaurant is amazing. From the unique drinks to the wonderful atmosphere to the delicious food, this is a must visit place. The Brussels sprouts are the best Brussels sprouts Ive ever eaten. Dont be alarmed by the strip mall it is in, this is a classy restaurant with wonderful service and amazing food.
After hearing my neighbors rave about this place, here, I had to go. Suppose it was inevitable being so close to home. Perfect for a date night with my wife.First time we stopped by it was early, around 4:30ish. Low traffic, we had the place mostly by ourselves. Had a chance to talk to the manager that had opened the store. Friendly lady with energy!Found the owners are musical artists and never had opened a place like this. Impressive because I thought there would be a learning curve to this type of business. Though on second thought, from the wait staff the management, they simply hired the right people. Kudos for them and may their success continue!Competent and friendly staff. Great drinks and food. Here, here, its just a great place.Second time we came it was at night, very crowded. We had to walk a bit from our parking spot. One person who wrote a review here complained about the lack of parking and crowds. It always perplexes me people complaining about a place being too crowded because, quite frankly, if a place had great service and product, and you have that HERE, then its gonna attract a crowd. So I didnt mind the 30 second walk from the bike shop next door.Anyway, glad this place opened because its nice to have a down town style lounge near home.
Mid-century modern meets New Mexico vibe with a short but creative cocktail menu. Both of my drinks were well made and with unique ingredients I haven’t seen often in cocktails. For example, I had a drink with Shiso syrup, which is a japanese leaf that tastes similar tomint. They had live jazz playing when we went Sunday night. Highly recommend.
Stopped in with the intention to have dinner but ended up leaving after a couple drinks. Service was a bit slow and distracted, and the drinks were a bit too sweet for my taste, though still quite good. Though theyve made a noteworthy effort to transform the vibe inside, it still felt like I was in a bar in a strip mall. I cant speak to the food as I decided to move on elsewhere, but the menu looked admirable.
A hidden gem in East Dallas that transports diners to the old JFK Pan-Am terminal cocktail lounges. The mussels are fantastic and the chicken-fried rib-eye is moist & full of flavor. It is hard to impress my wife who is an executive sous chef here in Dallas and she gave it a gracious nod. A gracious nod is good!
This was the second time we dined at Lounge Here. The first time was for my wifes 40th birthday pre party. I was a little disappointed in the management and the experience overall this time. The waitstaff and the guy filling waters were great. We grabbed the last table and our friends came to meet us for yet another birthday celebration ( 41st ). We ordered a couple of appetizers and adult beverages. We were told rudely that we were in trouble by the manager for only ordering appetizers and drinks. Theres evidently a policy that if you dont order a big meal, you cant be seated. I understand success begets being busy, but Tim, I have to tell you... the Brussel Sprouts were burned, the mussels lacked a ton of flavor outside being spicy, and I think Ill avoid heading to the other side of the lake to have an overpriced meal and drinks...#Fail
Cant speak on the food or drinks but I can tell you about the vibe. The hostess was super sweet. But that was about it. We showed up at 6:15 and the place was basically empty. There were literally 8 different boths that had no customers. The hostess took us to the table for 2 that was in the center of the restaurant, I asked if we can sit at one of the booths since they were all open. She went to ask what appeared to be a head server or manager. The lady whispered in here ear what was obviously a no. So the sweet hostess came back and delivered the bad news. We sat down for about 1 minute, I looked at the pricey menu. If I am going to be giving your business $70+ for 4 drinks, cheese and meat, and other food, Id like to at least sit in the best seats especially if no one is using them. They came back talking about all those booths were reserved, yea...ok. They were hoping they would be fill. Their hope cost them money. Now I dont claim that my $70 will make or break there business but Id like to support local places with better customer service. We went down the street to Urban Wine Bistro and receieved 5 star service.
What to say thats worthy.... If you cant hold a conversation and cant appreciate a broad spectrum of music, go home. No TVs. Good food uniquely prepared. Well chosen beer & wine list. Craft-mixed drinks. I want to say intelligent people, but maybe aware is more appropriate (both sides of the bar). Dont tell everybody.
This might be hyperbolic, but I think this is the best restaurant in East Dallas... at least in far East Dallas. Wash their amazing burger (try the vegan patty - it will blow your mind) down with a local craft beer/expertly made cocktail and take in the retro, southwest vibes for a relaxing and 100% chill evening. Yes, this place is a little pricier than most (no Chilis/El Fenix pricing here), but I can guarantee you that the food, drinks, and service will have you sold by the end of your visit. Pro tip: go early or go late as this place gets crowded quickly. Weeknights are your best bet.
Vibe: incredible, it really is a cool place...we felt under-dressed upon waking in but later it was less intimidatingService: impeccable, genuine staff and easy on the eyes, very attentive A++++Food: it was good. A few tweaks it would be awesome. I mentioned to my cousin it seemed familiar (HG Supply) of which Im not a fan BUT who am I? Right? The veggie burger was excellent. Cheese board would be great if it was served with crostinis instead of Texas Toast and perhaps three cheeses intead of two. We ordered a lot, A LOT, of sides. Deviled eggs...delisch. Mac & cheese...good but would be excellent with perhaps a gruerye-type cheese. Cauliflower...Im not a big fennel fan but cousin thought it was most excellent.Overall, very good food, service on fleek, x10 wine selection, doesnt get better...duh. This place is a keeper. It draws peeps from my hood (HP) as I saw neighbors I chose to ignore (you know who you are) and people from my cousins hood (FH).And this area needs this place...cheers to the owners and staff; keep it up *****
Depending on what youre looking for, this is the best bar in Dallas. The cocktails are incredibly well thought out and varied (Get the zombie). The decor is 60s retro mod, a dark respite from the desert of Dallas summer. The food is great, I recommend the airline chicken. Also, if youre looking for what tiki drinks are supposed to be, come here and talk to Brad (bartender). His knowledge and passion really add to the experience. (If hes there ask for the Mai tai old man style with rumfire)
Loud which makes it hard to talk to friends at other end of large, comfy booth, but interesting menu items and adequate cocktail, beer and wine make up for it. We shared pimento cheese app, charcuterie board (amazing!) which featured a gorgonzola, interesting and delish tomato chutney and a pate which I normally wouldnt touch but curiousity got the best of me. My bravery did not disappoint!
I wish I had more money so I could eat and drink here every day. From top to bottom. The waitstaff, the bartenders, the food runners, the busses and barracks are a level of words that I do not possess. And they are all second to the menu. Thank you for your existence.
The daughter of a foreign dignitary walks in to a practically empty lounge, is asked to wait 20 minutes for seating then gets placed at an obscure table. She is slighted when asked for a different table while the hostess seats another couple exactly where she originally requested seating at the practically empty lounge. She’s black in a sea of white patrons. She also happens to be an editor for D Magazine. Maybe not the best night to be jerks. We intend to seek retribution for such rude and discriminatory conduct. Don’t go “Here”.
If you think so highly of yourself that you give framed self-portraits as gifts, you are HOME.Not only can you show off your ability to nobly pay off any greatly marked-up tabs after showing the total to your friends, but you can flex your low-test numale oiled-whisker stroking propensity as you identify the 1960’s-era muzak to an unwitting and unwilling crowd.Fedora and scarf required. Deodorant optional.
It a great concept looks freaking ridiculous inside reminds me of elvis jungle room it may have been inspired with the plant shadows to small wierd location and instead the septic like an awkward smell inside and in you... Ben a few time same smell... bugs me soooo bad bc smells dont bother me this one no bueno... everyone act like there no smel lol kinda a bummer I had the panko fried ribeye with duck fat gravy..... I wanted to love this place needs more hype and different location like deep ellum etc I know bc Im in the know and want the concept to blow up like brick and bones!

2021-12-28Lounge Here is a hidden restaurant/ bar on the east side of Dallas. The interior is R+D Kitchen meets West Texas- it’s one of the better restaurant design and builds I’ve been to in a while (I only took a pic of the outside patio, which is also cool). The cocktails are very good, I got a Manhattan and a New York Flip, with the latter stealing the show. The food was excellent and there was something on the menu for all four of us in our party. I got the Chicken Fried Steak and they executed it well. Definitely recommend as a date spot or place to grab late night drinks.

2022-03-26The atmosphere is fun and unique with fixtures and a layout not seen in many places; West Texas meets mid century. I had French onion soup which was decent and the crustini was good but there was really no cheese at all (French onion soup needs cheese), and the burger. Unfortunately, the burger lacked flavor entirely other than the bacon that was on it. Not sure how or why they arent seasoning this at all. They do have funky cocktails and craft beer, but the prices are too high for what it is (especially a $17 flavorless burger). I do think it creates an exclusive allure that people will pay more to be a part of.

2021-07-29First off, the food and drinks were great! But the service and space (its so loud!) were terrible. My husband and I shared the charcuterie app but were not told what the items were until midway through it. I had the chicken fried ribeye, which I enjoyed - the breading was very light. I snag some cauliflower rice from my husband and loved it, very garlicky! Definitely make reservations beforehand because this place gets packed. We barely saw our waitress and when we did, we got the vibe that she definitely hates her job. So in all, food makes up for the service.

2022-03-07Ive wanted to come for a while and finally had a chance to pay a visit. Youd never know it was there. The drinks were amazing and the staff was so friendly. Great vibes in the building. My only woe was parking was limited.

2021-09-04The service, food and drinks were awesome. The ambiance was perfect. The music was great! I am a light weight when it comes to drinking. The bartender created a sweet very light alcohol drink for me it was absolutely perfect. Thank you for and amazing experience. Our server was very attentive.

2022-04-12So kitschy and cool. Straight out of the 60’s. SMALL but PERFECT! Great bartenders that put so much thought into each cocktail but not stuffy or overpriced. Mad Men meets neighborhood dive. Worth checking out!

2022-04-30Beautiful, swanky vibe, friendly staff, and an INCREDIBLE burger. A great place to visit. The place is small and acoustics are pretty poor, so expect it to get very loud very quickly. If that doesnt bother you, youll be in for a special night.

2021-06-26Havent been here for food yet, but their drinks are always good! The atmosphere is really different from most bars. It has a relaxed, chill vibe.

2022-04-30The decor is amazing, menu looks fantastic (I just came here for drinks but I saw the food the staff were delivering) and the place is hard to find which is what makes it so charming. (Just trust Google Maps...there is almost no sign at all.) The biggest thing I struggled with was that it was so loud. Between the music and other tables talking, I couldnt hear my date who was just across the table from me. The place is dark and beautiful so you kind of expect there to be some piano jazz but it was just loud pop music like everywhere else that you had to shout over. I would definitely come back because its so close to me, but I would be careful that I dont care to chat too much about anything important with whomever I bring. Hopefully they can turn it down just a smidge so it feels more like background noise.

2022-03-15Really cool little place! My wife and I enjoy trying new spots for date night and this hidden restaurant was definitely a cool experience. The server felt a little rushed but she was still very nice, the food was great and the atmosphere was amazing. Would definitely come back!
