Lowes Market in other cities:
Banderas groceries supply store Lowes .Small Town small store good enough for me . Always had no problem shopping here . The staff is kind and respectful and helpful .Gets busy on weekends due to bike rallies or just weekend riders as well as out of Towners just strolling by . Bandera is a beautiful small but big town . To bad its not as quiet as it used to be . People moving on in
This store is filthy. Produce is hardly ever fresh and filled with fruit flies. I wont buy fresh food here anymore, Id rather starve. This store has got to go. Residents need to stand up to city and get a real store, HEB. Health and safety issues at this store are beyond ridiculous and posts that say otherwise are simply not true.
Very friendly and helpful staff, it was very busy but the shelves were still well stocked and the store was clean. Hats off to the staff for all wearing masks, some customers still think they are immune hope the enjoy their ventilator. Thanks Lowes for a good shopping experience.
We love this market, and the employees, and the products sold. But the last time I was there and shopping, we came outside to see the car was badly door dinged, and the person drove off that did it. The store has no cameras. Unfortunately we must never shop there without a spotter in the car to catch the low lifes that didnt have a decent upbringing.
No one that works at Lowes is wearing a mask. They have removed the plexiglass between the cashiers and the customers. With the Delta variant surging, this is extremely dangerous. I will be buying my groceries via curbside service at HEB from now on. I care about my health and the health of my neighbors. Its too bad that Lowes doesnt do the same.
Just recently the produce in this store is horrible! I use to brag to all my b&b guests that the produce was just as good as HEB and no need to drive to Kerrville. The past two weeks, I wouldnt buy any produce as it is too soft and mushy. I am specifically mentioning grapes, blueberries, spinach as I have been buying these items for years. Please find another good produce department buyer! If we are going to pay for the convenience, the produce needs to be good.
Ive lived in Bandera since 2013. Lowes Market is the only grocery store in town. They have made improvements in carrying products since last year, such as Boars Head and Praseks. Lowes Market is keeping up with the many visitors that come to town for Rodeos and other events. I hope they will pay their loyal employees well, too.
The cashiers are user-friendly, like youd expect from a small town. Prices same, sadly. Might be because of covid 19 or convenience, but the prices are higher here than I usually pay. Still worth, a little extra for having a good selection and fresh produce right in Bandera.
I had a great, experience, today, as always! Glenn the store manager is Awesome! My 3 favorite, Cashiers are: Irma, Daniel, and, Cynthia. And, Mike the man that cleans the floors, in the evening. Give him a pay raise! He deserves it. Hes a hard worker! I love the produce here. Sincerely, Jim, local, resident.😎🙂😎🙂
Great meat selection. If you catch things on sale the prices are good. Otherwise they can be pricey. Better tobacck prices than gas stations in town. Staff is increasingly friendly and helpful. Theyre open til 10 everyday which is awesome for a small town grocery store. Deli and bakery are meh at best though.
Small town grocery store. The employees are very nice and helpful. The food selection is what youd expect from a small town grocery store. The prices are higher in these small stores because they cant get pricing from the suppliers like the larger grocery stores can. Good for when you need to pick up times while in town. I only visited the deli once and it was not stocked at all. Hopefully it was just a bad day. I havent tried it again.
For a small town grocery they have a pretty decent selection of most anything you might be looking for. They are a little pricey, but thats to be expected. However, on occasion their sale prices meet or beat the big guys. Their produce and meat selections are generally nice and fresh.
Pickup what you need, fresh fruit, salads, pies (always tasty) cakes from the bakery. Small town prices but a lot easier than driving to Boerne or SA. Friendly folks and quick in and out. Unless its Friday afternoon. Subway in the store or just a few steps away is the deli counter with fresh meat and cheese and prepackaged salad.
The fruits and veggies seem to be from local farmers. Very good and fresh. All prices are usually a bit higher than other grocery stores in Boerne, Kerrville, Helotes or San Antonio. Weekly Ad prices are usually good though. Everyone is usually very friendly and helpful.
It is a grocery store, it has what most grocery stores have, plus mostly friendly employees & general supplies for the seasonal tourists, river-rats, game hunters (yes even ammo, in a locked cage).Good Deli.Subway subs shop on premises, which also has restrooms & WIFI. (June 2020)
I really do love this store. I go here so often to avoid going to that God-Aweful WalMart in Kerrville. They have wonderful sales and yes some of the merchandise is overpriced as with any small town store, I feel like they really do make up for it with their sales. The only complaint I have is the price of milk. I wont buy it there unless its on sale. When its not, its SO expensive. Its actually cheaper to buy it at a gas station. Other than that though, its great, the staff is great...very pleasant place to shop.
Most of the employees are very friendly. They do have most of what you might need, but their prices are way too high. However, it is the only game in town, so its up to you... pay the higher prices or drive 25 miles to a HEB then drive 25 miles back. The Subway is great, but dont let Chasity make your sandwich. Shes a miserable person and wants everyone else to be too. She doesnt put much of anything on the sandwiches and If you ask for more, she will tell you that it will cost double. Ask for someone else to make your sandwich, youll get a much better sandwich and pay the regular price.
For a teeny-tiny town, this grocery store delivers big. For the small size of the store, they carry a little bit of everything. Besides groceries, though can find a small section of hardware, car accessories, fishing and hunting necessities, pool gear, a small amount of clothing, hats, adult beverages, baked goods, wood, a few pieces of wooden furniture, you can rent movies from the box onsite, and they even have a Subway sandwich shop inside. Again, for a teeny-tiny town, this store was impressive.
Hum, not sure anyone would really need me to review this big box store but for whomever it would interest I Cant stand this Place. This place pisses me off highly, three visits and nothing in stock that we needed. We have to drive quite a distance to get there just to be told they dont carry the products anylonger.
I was very disappointed with the manager Steve as i didnt know i had forgotten my atm card until the order had finished being rang up. I was told by the cashier i had five minutes to pay for the items that totaled 160.00 or she would have to rering everything back to clear out the action. My wife left to go get the money from my daughter not 300 yds from Lowes. In this time two people from the cashiers both came to see why the cashier had shut down her register. I asked the cashier if she could cash out the regiester until my wife got back. The store was full with 4 or 6 people in each open line. The cashier asked Steve if she could do that and he would not let her. I have been a customer at Lowers for many years and even worked at the store as a refrigeration tech in past years. Meaning i was not some blow joe that they couldnt trust to pay the bill. The point is i trued to help the cashier to be able to opening up her line and Steve was the least bit concerned about all the customers by this time 5 to 8 people deep. The other issue is i wasnt going to run out on the stire as my wife was gone with the jeys and car to get the money. So i dont know if i will ever go back there shopping as Steve is the most unfriendly manager i have ever seen. Jim Capps pipe creek
They are way, way to expensive! Especially for the mostly elderly community. And the prices? They keep raising them to unreachable. They actually tried to sell a head of lettuce for $6.99! I guess it was rotting so they dropped to $3.99. gee... Thanks for caring Lowes
Expensive when compared to large grocery stores in the city, but nevertheless Lowes Market has the best selection in Bandera, or anywhere else that is less than 45-minutes drive from this location. Helpful, friendly staff, and a bakery that has great homemade-tasting pies!
I only purchase can goods and dry foods from here. The fresh vegetables and fruit section, while improved, is still lacking fresh items. I dont even walk by the meats. commercial grade at best. Employees are distant from customers and give off an uncaring vibe in their work ethic. This last comment is directed to the older heavy set white lady who works by the ciggs and Western Union. Try being happy a little. Your bitter attitude is hurting your health.
Not enough cashiers and some of the ones have no idea what to do , alot of employees walking around but never opened another register if you done have enough cross train employee or the manager go on a register stocking in the middle of the day is crazy every aisle was full of stock to do and some had no one working on them so you had to move the carts to get what you need ,my cashier was very nice , going back to HEB where the prices are lower , $
The prices are pretty horrendous....for example: a bag of dog food I normally pay $11.99 for is $17.99 at Lowes. The parking is horrible. The parking spaces are teeny tiny...and I drive a Mini Coop!!! Its common to see people take up two spaces just because the spaces are so small. Also, I just bought a gallon of Lowes brand milk. Expiration date is Sept 10th, but today on Sept 6th the milk is already way past spoiled, indicating it was temp abused at some point. Small town grocery stores are often overpriced and offer less quality for the convenience of not having to drive too far. In this case, I feel Lowes pushes that boundary. I think they can do better with some minor tweaks to operations.
Before I was an employee I was a customer...I love working there and shopping there...the customers experience I have is awesome and since we are a tourist town I get to meet people from all over the world..Lowes in Bandera,Texas is a clean store with friendly employees and a great boss Glenn Griffth!!

2022-04-04Decent local store. Friendly staff. Pretty good beer and wine selection and much cheaper than the liquor store across the street. Lost a star for raising prices for spring break. Very tight parking also

2022-06-26They are the best and only grocery store in Bandera(not counting the dollar stores). They are expensive, but usually have what you are looking for. The employees are nice to each other, you won’t find a lot of smiles or great customer service BUT they have groceries, lol.

2022-05-28I havent in Lowes in forever and imagine my surprise when I went in there and you could actually see! Besides the lighting, it appears that other changes are being made. Before, the aisles were so narrow that it was a bit difficult to navigate but they are changing that, thank God. Now, if they would only do something about the quality of their produce, most of it isnt fit to carry out of the store. The other thing that needs changing are the prices. That isnt exactly the high rent district up there but they seem to think so.

2022-06-09Local store that has made a lot of improvements. I would give a 5; I believe a greater attention to the produce department would be very beneficial for all.

2022-01-28Love coming here to shop local and staff is always great, but produce spoils very quickly and many times I have bought meat to eat and when I open the package at home the meat is spoiled inside. It’s disappointing when the package looks good, but then the meat is nothing but gray inside. So when I shop I just avoid meat and produce.

2022-07-10Under construction and still found time to assist customers. The staff was all smiles. Update: the construction is finished, from a consumers view, and the store is much better. Staff are still amazing! Wonderful hometown store.

2022-02-19The recent upgrades to Lowes Market in Bandera are most welcome. Real improvements in layout and products available make this a choice instead of last resort shopping. For most, much better than 45 miles round trip to HEB.
