Lux Hotel and Spa Trademark Collection by Wyndham in Arlington
Positive: This place got the job done for a good price! It wasnt gross, I didnt have any problems with the staff. I didnt take advantage of the many amenities (pool, gym, etc.), but I assume they were probably all fine. Negative: The room was clean ENOUGH, but there were food particles around the microwave (!) from a previous guest, the bathroom door hinges were rusty, and a few other things that made me less confident in the cleanliness considering the star rating of the place.
We checked In went up to our first room to find out our sheets were all stained I called front desk they moved me to my 2 room this room stinked like cigarettes and the bed had hairs went to our 3 room which was not any better.Honestly this experience was horrible and the customer service was poor I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL! false advertising as well says free breakfast and once you are there they say they don’t have it. To sum it up this was a horrible experience for our family did not expect this from a “high” rated hotel
Positive: accessible right off the highway responsible price Negative: The shower was clogged. Refrigerator froze everything. Also, found a pair of socks at the foot of bed under the tucked in blanket that did not belong to me or my partner leading me to believe the sheets were never changed from the previous guest.
Positive: Location to Globe Life Field Negative: Claims no longer serves breakfast due to COVID. It¿s June 2022, all other hotels have moved on from that excuse. How can you include Spa in your hotel name when it¿s closed? Beds are very small. Just an old hotel that I would NOT consider 3.5 st
Positive: The lobby was pretty Negative: The photos are very misleading for the rest of the hotel. The room we stayed in looked very clean, well lit and alluring online. In reality, it was dark and musty inside. The first room we got had a broken bed so we moved to an equally nasty room.
Love whirlpool tubs and the deluxe rooms have them!Room was in great condition overall, but before I left I noticed there was some peeling paint near the a/c. Other than that, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were great and had great local recommendations. The convenience store was helpful in the lobby. Restaurant only open on the weekend when I was there (Oct 2021).Parking was plentiful and felt secure.
Im not sure what is going on at this place but, there is no spa at this hotel and spa. They never had one and never will and besides, you get every bit of 10 channels on the TV when its working which is about 10% of the time I was there. And they need to take the words high speed out of their advertisement about internet availability.
Positive: It looks nice on the outside Negative: The room smelled like marijuana and there were bugs. They were not able to accommodate services with 1 extra blanket. Had to check out next morning and they said they would ¿refund for 1 night¿ but have yet to see refund.
We arrived late and the bar was jumping which was cool. I did not like the room that was originally assigned to me. It had a smell in it and the overall feel was not welcoming. I spoke with the manager at the front desk and he updated the room without question and apologized for the inconvenience. The lobby was very nice and the ambience in the lower level was awesome. I love the spa services offered there as well. I feel like the pool could use an upgrade and really hate I missed the wings...they stop serving before the bar closes, which is weird because thats usually when you need the food the most. Overall, it was a pretty good stay.
I would not recommend staying here. I am not sure the reason but there is a terrible smell once you get into the elevators which follows you into hallway. The room smelled as well at varying points. Bed was hard. There is no breakfast which would be helpful since there is nothing around this hotel within walking distance. My husband woke up on both days with multiple bites. Staff were pleasant. Has potential but really needs help.
Positive: The location & convenience & thats it!!!! Negative: I didnt like that I had to wait in the lobby for an hour to check in because the attendant was no where to be found, I didnt like the fact there was no chain locks on the doors, no iron or ironing board & when I asked for another room i was told no
I gave this hotel 1 star because they refunded my money back in the same day and the staff was nice but overall this hotel is just not it. Looks nothing like the website, the outside looks okay but the inside is terrible. Looks very old, smells terrible, stains were on the sheets. Room just didn’t look clean or smell clean. old TVs. The power went off just when I got in my room and that was my cue to get up and leave. No breakfast but charge just like a regular nice hotel would. More like a motel. Just go to La Quinta down the street.
Positive: Location. Lobby was nice Negative: someone else¿s mask on the floor - not under anything, but out in the open. There was a strange smell that I couldn¿t determine if it was urine or cleaning supplies, then a very strong (chocking strength) smell of air freshener. Two bar falling fro
Positive: Staff was very nice and a great location. Negative: This was in no way 3.5 star hotel. It has a nice outside look. But rooms are very old and dingy. There are horrible smells throughout hotel and really bad in elevators. They did have a restaurant, but only open two days a week! Great location!
The corridor and even the rooms had a humid smell and feel to it. The restaurant wasnt open, ever. The gym wasnt clean and it was disorganized. The equipment wasnt clean. In the gym, there was not a water cooler, there werent any towels, had to bring my own from the room. There was no place to eat around there, nestled between the train tracks and the highway so you cant walk anywhere. Only way I ate half way decent was uber eats or favor.
Positive: The hotel couldnt find my reservation, the manager went above and beyond to help me and fix the situation. Sam is everything that a hotel manager should be! Hotel is nice with great location to Six Flags Negative: The room smelled like smoke when we walked in and that tub.... super slippery and nothing to hold on to. These were the only two problems but the hotel is very nice and staff is wonderful. Would stay there again.
Positive: The staff did their best but could not provide a room to accommodate us until after 1am. It was miserable. Negative: This was a terrible experience!!! We checked into our hot and muggy room, turned on the air conditioner and unpacked our things and then went to the baseball game. Our room at 10:30pm was hot, damp, the air conditioner did NOT work, and the CLUB MUSIC SH
If I could give it ZERO stars, I would. The hotel is great if youre fond of cockroaches bigger than your big toe greeting you as you open the door to your room. And I would categorize the staff customer service as being indifferent, ineffective, and incompetent. The young lady at the desk very courteously asked upon our check-in if we needed transportation to the airport the next morning, to which we replied in the affirmative. It was an early flight, and we asked for an early ride. We repeated the time as we went up to the room (pre-cockroach), and she confirmed. The next morning, I called down to the desk to confirm the ride, and she (same young woman on a 12-hour shift) responded in the affirmative. But when we got to the lobby, no cab, no Uber. She told us no call had actually been made, and blamed it on her manager. We had to call the manager, whose card was at the desk, and ask her to come pick us up. She arranged for Uber, and we barely made our flight.Wouldnt go back to this dump if you paid me.
The room was dirty with hair in the bath tub and dirty towels. My friend grabbed a towel to shower with and there was dirt and lipstick stains on it. Door card readers worked when they wanted to, we had to scan the card multiple times before it would open. Several others staying in our hallway had the same issue. Tiles in the bathroom were wobbly and if you stepped on them water would come through the grout. Beds were comfortable but pillows were terrible. Room was pretty dingy for a “lux” hotel. Clearly outdated and could use some TLC. Got a room because it was close to the Rangers stadium. Fire alarm went off twice, construction or trains or something were loud outside. Would not come back.
Would give 3.5 stars. Looks better online than in person. Carpet made you feel like you were in a bowling alley/arcade/movie theater, rest of the building was super nice! No breakfast still. I stay in hotels 6days a week & Id say 95% of hotels offer some kind of breakfast.. Dont see any reason to have it still discontinued, other than the owner wants to save some money & knows they can get away with it under covid umbrella.
Positive: The room was spacious and clean. Negative: The shower was treacherous. You had to step up to get in and nothing to hold on to to get out. The floor of the shower was very slippery. In addition, Hotel location was not great. For couple travel, I would not recommend. For business, maybe.
It was a place to stay and close to the stadium. The hallways smelled horrible, front desk never answered the phones so if your toilet is broken or you need anything you will need to go to the front desk to get anything done. Enjoy your roommates in the room (spiders). The General Mgr Sam is the worst. I tried addressing my issues and he really didn’t care. Called multiple times for 2 weeks to see if he came to resolution for some kind of compensation and he never returned a call but left a message he spoke to me. (Never called me once). I’d spend a little extra and stay somewhere nicer. I’d comment on the pool but we weren’t able to use it.
The hotel itself is nice. Room was clean. The restaraunt was good. My problem is the maintenance. The toilet pressure is very low, there were a lot of cracks on the walls, my TV didnt work, and my shower curtain rod literally came off the wall from the weight of pulling the curtain open. Not the best impression. I think the price of the room is a bit high for what it is, but all in all not a terrible experience.
The lady working the front desk is who made our experience a good one! Very nice and welcoming! I didnt have enough points to stay 2 nights so on the second night, she let me keep the room for the discounted price I paid the night before. She did not have to do this, but I am very grateful for her generosity. The lady who cleaned rooms on the 4th floor yesterday was so sweet and we were satisfied with the way she seemed very happy to do whatever we wanted done in the room. Rooms are very nice and clean, well kept up! I will be coming back again. If you plan a trip to Six Flags over TX in Arlington. TX like we did, make sure to book a room here!
Lack of respect for women!! The manager treated me so poorly and the women working the front desk!!!! When my husband talked to him his tone changed completely! We will NEVER stay her again and will not recommend it to anybody! We travel A LOT and know what good hotel service is. This is not it!! We stayed at this hotel for a baseball tournament and we’re disappointed by the lack of professionalism. We arrived at 5 even though check in time is 3. My baby was asleep and when we walked in it was still being cleaned. We had to get all the baggage and go to another room. When the manager was told about this inconvenience , he was unsympathetic and said I could have left or waited in the lobby. I tried to explain that check in time was 3 and he said he can’t guarantee that and said I could have waited until midnight if the room wasn’t ready. He said that’s their policy he doesn’t have to post it or put it on the website. Then the hotel had no breakfast available and the restaurant is way over priced for the food. They try to make themselves to be an upscale hotel but that not true at all. The manager tried to compare it to the Marriot and Hilton. That’s a joke.
I have stayed here several times in the last few months while visiting my son in Arlington. The front desk staff is always very friendly, fast, efficient check-ins. Rooms are nice, plenty of room. They are always clean. They have a restaurant/bar on site with a dj on weekends. Very nice place and it doesnt get too loud to bother people in rooms. I love this place and will always recommend it to friends and family staying in the area.
Positive: The bar and restaurant was cracking it felt like a little club, for two ppl who was looking for that vibe without having to leave the hotel was a plus.the food though was over priced and the bar tender was very rude. Negative: For the price it is worth it however we did not stay two nights because there was a shooting down the block and we just decided to leave that area.
Charged more than what our reservations were booked for. Not by much still overcharged. We were there for 4 nights. On the first night we told the manager our toilet wasnt working right. He provided a plunger for us to use. Didnt correct the problem. Every morning we left for our day we reported that our toilet wasnt flushing properly and couldnt be used. Every night we got back late and it still didnt work. Finally got it fixed on our last night there. Also found dried blood on the comforter. Asked for a clean one. Received one that had yellow pee looking stains on it. Asked for the next 2 days for a clean comforter. Never received it. We used blankets from our own car.
The Hotel Is Close To ATT Stadium, Texas Rangers, and The Live! My problem that I had was the front desk wasn’t welcoming! The manager /owner a foreigner walked around all night looking and patrolling the place! It made me feel uncomfortable! They do have a nice bar to hang out and music ! We will not be staying here again! The front of the Hotel is nice but the room itself wasn’t as nice! Be careful check your bed ; it was an orange decorative blanket on the bed ; it had white stuff all over it ; apparently it didn’t get washed !!!!
It is a good option for a family stay. It is big and spacious and I was looking forward to the hot breakfast that is advertised on their website, but due to COVID it has been unfortunately cancelled until further notice. Our first room smelled GREAT, but the sink was clogged. The guy at the front desk on 10/30 at 10pm quickly took care of it and gave us a different room a few doors down the hall. We are very pleased with the customer service.
Would recommend to anyone and i’m actually disappointed for it to be so popular. room reminded me of motel 6. carpet nasty and old, hallways smelt like sewage and the rooms smelt like must, smoke and sewage. tub old and didn’t look clean. stain on the couch and not to mention the old ac unit. i had it on 54 and room still didn’t get cool, it was stuffy and humid. definitely not what they advertise online. lastly the old remote that barely worked. my total was 134.05 i gave the lady at the front desk 140.25 and she gave me back 5.95. explained to her it’s 6.20 (whole point of the quarter was to NOT GET LOOSE CHANGE) she refused to fix the issue and lastly they don’t have complimentary items. i spent 3.00 on a raggedy, bic razor.. NEVER AGAIN!
I’m so confused as to why the 4 stars. More like an upgraded Ramada inn and not in the nicest way. We had a $300 suit(so disappointed that my husband spent that here as a bday gift) with a hot tub area looked so sketchy when I turned on the bubbles the lights would flicker I got so scared I wouldn’t get back in because the walls look like they were falling apart!! Definitely with all that money can be used towards renovating!! Mirrors and lights coming from the 60s! Like come on $300 definitely not worth the penny!!!
Front desk agent was very courteous. As soon as we walked in to the room, it had a cigarette smell to it. Supposed to be a non smoking hotel, but it definitely smelt of smoke. Some areas of the room, restroom should be painted and kept up with a little better. Definitely lacks some small detail preventative maintenance. We also called the front desk several times on different days and no one ever picked up the calls. Very nice meeting space areas, very spacious.
Staff was friendly however the bar/restaurant is only open Friday and Saturday nights 6pm-10pm then at 10pm it turns into a night club. Prices at restaurant were pricey. No housekeeping while we were there for 3 days. The spa is temporarily closed. Not what we thought our experience would be. Basically an over priced super 8
Do not do it. Pool dingy, no breakfast, small tv in room, room smells and so does the elevator. Games in arcade are mostly broken. Looks nice on the outside but you may as well stay at the motel 6. Booked on Priceline no refunds Is the only reason I stayed. Overpriced never again.
Positive: I like that it¿s close to the venue, Globe Life Field. It was easy to get to. That was about it. Negative: I didn¿t like the mold, loose fixtures, terrible water pressure, moldy smelling room, and the fact that everything seemed wet when we got into the room. It was not good at all.
Do not stay here. The manger tried to kick me out of the bar for false amenities( poolside bar). He does appreciate women and was extremely disrespectful and rude after I confronted him and proved it was on the website. He didn’t want to listen to what I had to say and went to the person I was with to remove me when he had nothing to do with our conversation. Bartender was very apologetic because of his action. He was taking pictures of me and my company for no reason.
Hotel Lux is my go to hotel whenever I visit the Dallas/Arlington area.... Location, Location, Location: Near the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Six Flags, & popular restaurants/shopping.The staff is professional, the hotel is nice, & the amenities are really good for a 3-star rated hotel: Pool, Spa, Workout Center, Restaurant, & Lounge.... This hotel should be rated 4-stars!!I last visited the weekend of July 23rd, & my stay was really pleasurable!Thank you, Front Desk for going the extra mile!
Love love love it!!! Its so nice and the feel of the place is so glamouros and upper level. The pool is perfect with showers and air condition bathrooms outside where the pool is abundance of pears to relax in Sun Tanning stage 4 Life entertainment color changing lights up above a covered area and water jets that come out of the water at night and color changing lights inside the pool at night which is just really romantic and fun for both adults and kids I got a game room downstairs with lots of arcade games of pool table and air hockey several so machines a salon with a spa and sauna very quality stylist and employees at the salon definitely is set up for any type of occasion or get together very big place has a restaurant on the weekends breakfast on the weekends only that is the only thing I see that I can complain about is that they dont have breakfast every day in the restaurants that open every day outside of that the place is great very friendly very hospitable front desk plus theres a gift shop open 24 hours for any amenity that you might have forgot to bring me a few snacks plus they have Starbucks Coffee tips for $3 its really nice there really cute keepsakes and gifts to find in the gift shop as well nice laundromat and very spacious Hotel right read along with being next to all of the entertainment there in Arlington . highly recommend must stay at least one night great value for what you get to the rooms are beautiful about four pillows on the bed very plush and fluffy double pillow top mattresses as well as down pillows and down cover safe in the room to lock your valuables very respectful housekeeping if you say Do not disturb they they dont bug you if you want housekeeping they will clean your room immaculately whatever you choose wish I didnt have to leave.... I had left a review for the Baymont Hotel in Arlington just right down the road from this one they are two completely different sides of the spectrum on hotels completely one is China the other is America however you want to look at it. Like night and day just 2 opposites do not ever stay at the Baymont and I suggest to never leave the Lux okay. Enough said???

2022-03-17FYI - There is no spa. I really liked my jacuzzi suite. The jacuzzi tub was huge! The only issue was the water kept draining and I kept having to refill the tub (waste of water). The tub kept draining even though I had the stopper in it. Because of that the jacuzzi jets would spray into my face essentially making me feel like I was drowning. So, I had to soak in the tub without them on. Still a great room though.

2022-02-23Stayed for special occasion on a Tuesday in one of the king spa rooms. $195! The restaurant and bar were closed, which was not disclosed in any apps or website. No free cancelations. Room not very clean. Neither was the spa. Black mold and other surface areas. Very dusty lamps. Obviously, not cleaned and sanitized. Very disappointed!

2022-02-23Positive: The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet. The hotel was not luxurious, but not trashy. Fine for a one night stay or work. NOT A SPA HOTEL. Most of the staff was Nice, the woman that checked me in was COLD not helpful. Negative: I had to ask for a different room, the first was not cleaned properly and smelled of smoke. I really thought this was a spa hotel and wanted to enjoy the spa features, but it was just a regular hotel as far as I could tell. I was disappointed.

2022-05-22Absolute the worst hotel experience ever! How does this have 4 star overall review here is mind blowing.I was charged twice at the bar in which they refused to give refund stating it was a hold and would go away (it didnt, had to dispute through bank).Restaurant and bar employees lacked menu knowledge and experience.I back to my hotel 2am with AC not working properly, the person working front desk was incompetent and could not get the keys to work to move me to another room. Absolutely crazy! Ended up having to go to another hotel at 3 am. Of course they didnt give refund and had to dispute that aswell. This hotel is nice, just lacks qualified owner, manger and employees to run the place. Do NOT stay here!

2022-06-26Hotel is basically a dump. The room was not clean: stains on the bedsheets, bottle caps from beer still on the floor, floor was wet, etc etc. The hotel smelled terrible. The entire hotel smelled like funky mildew that they tried to cover up with some horrible scent (my 8 year old son said it smelled worse than dog pee). Customer service was poor as well. Also no cribs available - something available in most hotels these days. The only good things about this hotel was how close it was to Rangers Stadium/Six Flags and the room layout - with bunk beds for the kids in a side room.

2022-06-11Pretty disappointed overall. We were passing by and called to see if they had any rooms available. I was answered with a quick “we don’t have any” and hung up on. My wife checked on Expedia and they showed rooms available so she booked it. Room was decently clean, but didn’t feel clean enough to us to walk barefoot. There was coffee in the big breakfast area, but no breakfast. Doubt we will visit again.

2022-05-24Dont do it!!! Youll regret it! The first room (320) I checked Into had feces in the toilet and the whole floor smelt like weed. They moved to 115 and when I pulled the sheets back there was hair all over the sheets and stains. The remote was missing, the phone didnt work, the desk lamp didnt work and the corner lamp didnt work. I asked the girl at the front desk to provide me with new sheets and I had to go back to the front desk at 1am because she had forgotten about it!!! Nastiest 3.5 star hotel Ive ever stayed at. By far the worst experience Ive ever had with hotwire.com.

2022-04-17Positive: The location was perfect. Staff was efficient and checked us in quickly. Negative: Got off the elevator and could immediately smell smoke coming from one of the rooms. In the bathroom, there was a dirty wash cloth from the previous guest left on the shower curtain rod. The shower fixture needs to be fixed, water temperature inaccurate

2022-06-01Positive: Room was decent. Staff was nice. Never saw manager. Negative: No restaurant even though advertised as having breakfast. Manager supposedly rents out pool on weekends. Cops were everywhere Sunday night trying to get people off premises that weren¿t staying there. Took 30 minutes to get into parking lot. Pot smell

2022-03-07To start. Stains on bed sheets. Room keys did not work, also my taillights on my truck along with two others were stolen while my vehicle was packed directly in front of the front door. Front desk laughed when I told her what had happen. Refused to contact the manager or show the police the cameras. People do not care about their customers. Uber driver warned us that we shouldnt stay at this hotel when he dropped us off. Stay away.
