I personally ate the 8oz prime beef filet cooked Medium and it was PERFECT! Best steak I have ever had. The shinerbock glaze sauce was out of this world. The wedge salad was perfection. I could have eaten 10 more portions of the mixed vegetables. So good! I Will be making many more visits.
The fillet wife had was fine. I had the ribeye it was awful. It was cooked properly, but there was way too much fat and gristle, even for a ribeye. Both were served floating in a pool of balsamic vinegar which completely destroyed the taste of the steaks. Our service was excellent and the manager deducted $10 from our bills for the balsamic vinegar. the diced potatoes cooked to a crisp. Ambience was outstanding and the wine was excellent but a bit pricey. The waiter should have warned us about the balsamic vinegar.
It was the toughest steak I have ever had in my life. It was full of white ligaments throughout the cut. It was a shame because the flavor was really good. I do want to go back and try the lasagna or something more Italian. The mashed potatoes with the steak were really bad also.
Beautiful! This place was recommended to my better half after he was looking for somewhere romantic to take me for our anniversary and let me just say that I owe whomever told him about this place a giant hug. The atmosphere was stunning and cozy and the food was absolutely delicious. Our server made our experience unforgettable and her recommendations put us at ease regarding the menu. The wine was exactly what we wanted and the pasta was the best Ive had in a long while. I was so stuffed I couldnt even think about ordering dessert but next time Im definitely getting some tiramisu!
Great dinner here with my husband. The menu had a variety of options from pasta, fish, steak and dinner salads. I had trout and it was great. Tasty cooked perfectly. It came with spinach risotto and asparagus. My husband had blue beef tenderloin. He also lived his dinner. The tenderloin was cooked just as he liked Medium rare. Our waitress Izzy was very good. She was attentive, friendly and a sweet girl. I loved that she knew the menu and didnt have to run back to the kitchen to find out. The decor was beautiful. You felt like you were in Italy. Very nice! If I were from TX. Id definitely be back. I wish CT. would open a place like this. Try it out and ask for Izzy! Oh and the neopolitan nachos.... awesome!! Worth trying.
This was are second time here and this place is excellent. We will be stopping here every time were in town. Started with the nachos which tasted like pizza and was fantastic! For the main course I had the confetti spaghetti with Italian sausage and she had the mahi salad. Both were delicious and highly recommended. During this visit our server was Chris and he was very helpful and friendly. Much better service than our first visit several months ago.
A nice, cozy atmosphere for some good food. Wouldnt call it eye-opening Italian food but because we were starving after a day without eating, we gobbled down our food! Youd want to dress on the nicer side for this place (though we were in outdoor clothing). Dessert was good! Reasonably priced.
OMG! This place was fabulous. They had wonderful service and wonderful food. The ambience was to die for. For a while I felt like I was somewhere else that was beautiful to look at and had wonderful food. I highly suggest this place to anyone looking for somewhere special to dine.
The food was good, but no better than some chain Italian places. We were very confused why they gave us a side plate when you dont get any bread or a salad with your meal. We went for Italian and was surprised at the limited selection. Steaks forget it, they had market price, whos market? We were a little taken aback by how we were greeted because we didnt have reservations. Its a good restaurant, not a great one.
Staff and food are awesome. Went there for a business dinner and they know how to do it right. We had 3 people in town from Wisconsin that wanted to try the tomahawk steak that comes with 4 sides. For being a very large steak they said it was flavored and cooked very well. See the pic for the size. It does come on its own cutting board.
Fantastic atmosphere and incredible food. I really enjoyed the Mob Chicken (pictured). It is pan fried chicken topped with mob queso with ginger aioli sauce. Mixed grilled veggies and a spoonful of tasty mashed potatoes was just the right portion to leave full but not feeling miserable! Several other dishes ordered at our table looked incredible... Blackened Bayou Chicken, Lemon Butter Shrimp, and the filet steaks were all highly recommended.
My boyfriend and I were passing through Amarillo and stopped in here to grab a bite to eat. The atmosphere here is so relaxing and comfortable. Low lights and music being played so softly that you can actually enjoy dinner conversation. Its gorgeous on the inside. Go and look for yourself though. The food was delicious. Listen to the staffs recommendations first then grab a menu and dive in. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. It is safe to say that you will not regret ordering any of the food. The service was on point. Everyone was so polite and professional. Our waitress even gave us a complimentary hazelnut creme brulee because she figured out that we were celebrating our anniversary. The entire staff was incredible. Genuinely very nice people. They really made our experience at Macaroni Joes one to remember. Anytime we pass through Amarillo we will definitely be stopping here again.
We decided last minute to eat here (party of 5) and were treated rudely and like we were an inconvenience the whole time due to not having reservations.Id rather be turned away if the service was going to be that sub-par.The food was bland and we had to ask a couple times for salt/pepper and other basic condiments. Drinks were empty during most of our meal and we were only offered one refill. Not impressed.
My husband and I visited Amarillo for the first time to celebrate our Anniversary! The food was delicious, great service, and the atmosphere was romantic. We highly recommend Macaroni Joes to anyone seeking a romantic evening. Thank you again we will definitely be back.
This place was absolutely wonderful for the most part. I came in last week and loved the environment, food, and atmosphere of this place. My only complaint is my server Gage was noticeably high for my whole visit. His eyes were low and red, the way he was acting was off, and he spilled the wine while pouring it. I think for the price I paid for the food and service here this is beyond unacceptable.
Really good italian food. I had the blackened bayou and it was amazing the does have a bit of kick, I paired it with the catfish which was so good the seasoning was excellent. It had some cajun seasoning and lemon although the lemon was mostly subtle giving it a nice touch in between bites.
I am a writer. My new novel, The Reckoning of Rance, is currently out on Amazon and select stores across the nation. It was a book signing that brought me here, along with a date night to the little theater showing of Matilda. We made reservations early on and just by chance my tour coincided with my 39th wedding anniversary. We were sat in a beautiful place of the restaurant, where we enjoyed a private candle light setting, along with a glass of wine. We ordered the appetizer of Mob Queso, more wine, more conversation as we awaited our order, both getting the Cedar Salmon, perfectly cooked and so delicious. I want to thank the staff there for making our special time so beautiful. It is such a great place and I highly recommend it for your own special time. We will be back again.
Everything was great, except the Italian nachos were served cold. We questioned the waitress, who talked to the chef and came back with the answer that the chef changed it that day and it would be served cold going forward. So.... just a warning, dont order the nachos unless you like them cold. Weve decided we prefer warm nachos.
The atmosphere was pleasant, the dining room was nice and the service was good. Not too enthusiastic about the taste of the food. You would think a high quality restaurant like this they would have made a homemade cheesecake. Not sure why it took so long to get food out for my party group. The steam vegetables on my plate or ice cold. Sorry just being honest.
Our server Caitlin(not sure if Im spelling her name correctly) was phenomenal! She was so sweet and nice and even recommended me a drink when I didnt like my original drink due to me liking my cocktails on the sweeter side. The ribeye was so tasty! I would also go back for the mushroom risotto!
Personally my experience was subpar. The food (lasagna) was so much sauce that it drowned out anything else in the meal. The menu was extremely small for our large party (only 5 or 6 options.) The party room was relatively small, no AC was used and it was really cramped. The service from our waiter was great! No complaints there. Overall I say if youre looking for a place for large parties to eat I do not recommend this establishment. However, if youre looking for a place for 2-4 people then its fine. Personally for the premium I assume you pay I think a smaller locally owned authentic Italian restaurant would be better bang for your buck.
I guess I had imagined it wouldve been a little more posh, not quite as deconstructed feeling, in the decor. The food was pretty good, but my duck was kinda tough, had a little sinew. Her meat was ok too, but the side vegis were better than the entree on both. I might eat here again, but it felt like they were stretching beyond their ability. I gave 4 stars because it seems like the potential is there, and the service was pretty good.
Macaroni Joes has become my and my husbands go to date night occasion. The atmosphere is achieved through the decor - an artistic recreation of a rustic Tuscan village - and the intimate lighting. The menu descriptions are indisputably gourmet, yet the presentation has an accessably artistic eye-pleasing flair. Every menu item Ive had is delicious and satisfying. Save room for the Creme Brulee!
One of a kind dining experience with the quaint rooms and a cozy old italian feel to the place. The staff is noticeably seasoned for fine dining service with an excellent selection of main course, bar, and apps. The champagne and wine list are among the best you can find.
Was surprised it was so fancy seeing as the name seems a little misleading, my mistake though. The lady who seemed to be the manager seemed quite rude when we walked in but maybe she was having bad day. The restaurant is beautifully decorated but dim lighted. I hope the food is really good. The waiter/bartender is so nice! Very friendly. Sit at the bar because it’s a much more laid back atmosphere. Will say the breadsticks don’t come in a big proportion but they are delicious. Well I guess we’ll see how it goes. (The sweet tea is great)
Everything was very good. I would definitely recommend this place, especially for a special occasion.i ordered a 8oz prime Tenderloin it was cooked perfectly. Taylor was our server she was very friendly kind and had a very positive attitude next time I go there I will request her.
Really great atmosphere, plenty of parking. Had a group of 8 with reservations. Arrived 15 min. early, hostess said she would seat us in just a moment then came back and said I cant seat you until the time on your reservation which I thought was kinda weird, but once we were seated, the place is very nice, theyve done a great job of producing an Italian look and feel. (consequently, probably not the place to go if youre in a hurry) The service was great, our waitress was accurate, timely and friendly. All the food (12 oz ribeye, homemade lasagna, salmon) was very good. The chips and flaming queso were the best Ive ever had. It might be helpful to know that the lunch menu is not the same as supper, and not just pricing, but some dishes are not available Im sorry, thats only on our lunch menu. Overall, we really had a great time here.
I was just driving through Amarillo, and this place popped up in recommend places. It was pretty decent. The waitress went out of her way to make us lots of coffee (long road trip), and the food was delicious. I had the salmon, and wished it was cooked a little more thoroughly. Overall, a very positive experience.
We went here for a date night. We did not know to get reservations. However we sat in the bar and loved our waiter/bartender! The atmosphere was very romantic. The suggested entrees were amazing and the wine was great too. It was quiet, and the perfect date night dinner for us.
A lovely restaurant with unique delicious offerings. The duck was tender and cooked to perfection. My husband had the redfish... He highly recommends it as well. The Mob Queso is a must. The service was also great. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner! Thanks again for a great dining experience.
One of the fancier restaurants in town, excellent for small gatherings or business dinners. Excellent food and wine selection.Good for romantic dinners or to celebrate special occasions. Not my favorite place to eat in Amarillo but surely a good option for upscale dinner
Friday special Roast Beef is a must for us and we get there early at our table in the back room to order before they run out. It is a large portion so we split it and have plenty to eat. The atmosphere for us is very romantic as we have lived in Tuscany and this reminds us a wonderful time in our life. Service was as usual very good and friendly. Plenty of parking available.
I would give this one a 4-stars on the atmosphere of this place and 2-stars on the food, averaging out at 3-stars.It was recommended by my cousins as we were passing through, where we sat reminded me of an Italian patio with plants overhead and it was very quaint. The service was above average, too. Unfortunately, the lasagna was NOT something to rave about ... the sauce tasted canned and part of my portion was actually burned. Now, I like burned cheese as much as the next guy, but if you dont, you might want to steer clear.I thought the portion size was generous for the price, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food ... I didnt complain because I didnt want to ruin it for the rest. Maybe try the other options, but be wary of the lasagna ...
We stopped here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at how convenient it was to get into and out of from Rt 40. They seemed to have adequate parking as well, but it was mid-day on Monday so that might not be the best gauge if you go for dinner. My husband had the chicken caesar and I had the shrimp with lemon and butter pasta. He said it was very good, and I felt the same about my pasta. I will say that the sauce was not what I expected - it was much heavier than most butter and lemon sauces I have had due to the addition of cream and possibly cheese, but it was still very good. The bonus was we got out of there in about half an hour and for less than 30 bucks including tax and tip, quite the deal for a fairly upscale place!
I had a wonderful luncheon with 6 friends at Macaroni Joe’s last week. It accomadates alot of people because they have many small tastefully decorated rooms. Our waiter was fantastic and my Chicken Spaghetti was out of this world. They have a nice variety of desserts, but we passed because we were so full from devouring the great meal. Please go to Macaroni Joe’s and you will find it to be a most desirable experience
Traveling with celiac disease can be a nightmare, but Macaroni Joes has made Amarillo one of the easiest places for us to stay when were on the road. The staff seem knowledgeable and the food is great. While passing through town this week, we had such a great experience that we actually started planning a trip to Amarillo. Our server, Josh, was one of highlights of our visit. He did a great job AND he made our evening more enjoyable. (Not Josh Jesse.)
Its not an Olive Garden wannabe, its what Olive Garden wants to be. The menu had great variety, which is followed by tasty meals, and the appetizers are delicious, especially the shrimp stuffed with crab which was quite sweet and full of spice, not the spicy kind but tasty spice. It was very good
I just want to say MOB QUESO I cant eat there without having that. I proposed to my husband here. And the staff was amazing. I took the paper I needed up there before they were opened they had given me a piece that natch the menu and I took it back to them. They staged everything beautiful putting my letter in the wine list and serving it to him. Then they made us a gorgeous desert that said congratulations on the plate. I always loved to go there on a romantic date night and this topped the cake. The food is always amazing.
It doesnt take long for my wife to decide on Macaroni Joes for lunch. If you are longing for Italian flare and quality food choices in a cozy, romantic setting, then this is your destination. We had a wonderful, attentive waitress take our order and who, after taking our order, returned with a generous portion of home style bread along with a small plate of individually wrapped pads of real butter. Well, everyone knows you cant live on bread alone, but my wife sometimes gets pretty close.😊 (I make a fair amount of homemade bread, so I guess then, that it is my fault.)My wife ordered the Mango Tilapia and I ordered the Basil Salmon. Each dish comes with some nicely seasoned, freshly cooked, sliced squash as well as a flavorsome interpretation of mashed potatoes. Our waitress took good care of us even though there was a fairly busy lunch crowd. The decor is very nice and if you didnt know you were in Texas, you could allow yourself to dream, for the moment, that you are in seaside village in Italy.
RESERVATIONS REQUIRED! You have to have a reservation for the actual restaurant portion of the restaurant, but you can sit in the bar with full food menu without one. We sat in the bar area for our visit here. It was our first time and we were quite impressed! The food was cooked very well and the desert (the Josephine) was fantastic! Although the menu only offers regular tea, you can ask for the bar tender to make some simple syrup for sweet tea. Its really good! The only odd thing was that no form of macaroni was on the menu although it is the name of the restaurant.
My wife and I had our first date at Macaroni Joes 20 years ago. We ate there after our wedding and it is our go-to place for a special night out. Great pasta dishes and my wife especially enjoyed the pan-seared sea bass with mango-lime salsa and Parmesan grits. If youre a wine drinker, their selection will be sure to have something perfectly paired to your meal and tastes.
I have to say this place was much more than I bargained for. The ambience is great for date night and the food is on point! Prices arent outrageous and the wait staff is accommodating and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place for couples looking for a date place that wont hit their pocketbook too hard.
I would like to thank the staff and managers at Macaroni Joes for helping my siblings and me celebrate our moms 80th birthday. We were unable to be in Amarillo for her birthday, so we worked with Macaroni Joes who made it a really special evening! This is one of their favorite places, and the beautiful dessert with the candle was a lovely touch. Thank everyone for your help!
When you sit at your table in Macaroni Joes for about 5 to 10 minutes, you suddenly realize that you have forgotten you are in Amarillo, Texas! You feel like youre in some little Italian grotto and youre enjoying one of the best meals youve ever had! The atmosphere is simply gorgeous, the food is terrific, the wait staff is superb...way beyond any other restaurant in Amarillo. The prices arent just reasonable for what you get, theyre just plain reasonable. In my opinion, this is the finest restaurant in Texas and maybe even the entire Southwest Region of the country. But dont take my word for it. Go there yourself. It wont be long before you become a regular!
We made a 4:30 reservations . We arrived and were seated at a table by the door . Every time the door opened cold freezing air. We ask for another table and were told they were assigned. We come every valentines and have had corporate events. I ask for another table told no. We left called and spoke to Chris management who told us to bad nothing they could do . Wont be back .
With so many new mediocre restaurants opening in Amarillo over the past few months, its sure nice to return to this old favorite which still delivers the most consistent good food in this town... and has a great selection of wines and a real sommelier to help guide you.
Got Bayou Blackened chicken...was very tasty. Got some marinara for dipping the pizza crust bread (I think thats what it was...bland) and the marinara tasted worse than Chef Boyardee canned sauce...also no flavor. So overall very UNDERWHELMING. Our waitress, Sara, was A++.
Fabulous!!!!! Planned a special evening. Called & explained I was coming out of town....wanted a private setting & to not expect the table to be turned quickly. Chris was so gracious & everything was perfect. Server, Aaron was attentive yet acommodating. Food was over the top.DO NOT MISS the Quail Legs...Yummoh!

2022-04-12I have always loved Macaroni Joes. We considered it aspecial place to eat out.The atmosphere was most excellent. The service was amazing.Cleanliness lacked a bit, everything seemed dusty. The outside of the restaurant could really use some cleaning up and get rid of all those metal post that are literally rotting in the front door area. The lunch menu is extremely limited on choices (but with our nations crises I kind of understand) but when my food come out you could tell it was reheated and the center was barley warm. Please step up game.Love this place

2022-03-22Macaroni Joes is one of the most cleanest and beautiful places to take your family out to dinner, or for a very special occasion. Inside you will find yourself walking through a faux Tuscan village setting just breathtaking and beautiful!. This place offers you some of the most exquisite food and wine, with over 450 wines to choose from. The food is delicious and very presentable. We truly enjoyed our family time together and I assure you that you will too. I highly recommend Macaroni Joes. The staff members are so kind and friendly. They always have a smile on them when they greet you, and when they serve you. A 5 star restaurant.

2022-06-24We were stopping for the night in Amarillo. My wife found Macaroni Joes on line, so we ordered food for take away to eat in our hotel room. We were bushed. Boy, did we make the right choice! The food was amazing. We shared a Lemon Butter Shrimp pasta and a Confetti Spaghetti. We honestly couldnt decide which was better. That said, the jerk spice on the Confetti Spaghetti adds a totally fun flavor profile. If we lived in Amarillo, Macaroni Joes would be a mainstay for us. Given the crowd they had on a Thursday evening, I would surmise many locals feel the same.

2022-04-06Actually incredible. Some of the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. If you want the best food Amarillo has to offer visit here. Everything I ate was a treat and interesting on so many levels. This place will treat your tastebuds to a dance they can’t keep up with.

2022-06-29This is a quiet, quaint place. Very authentic food and wonderful, romantic atmosphere. Very knowledgeable staff. They know their stuff. We dont take our kids here. Its a husband/ wife getaway!
