This is an honest family business with fair prices and quality work. There is no reason to look elsewhere for your watch or clock needs. I have had them replace batteries, take out links in a watch and have always been treated courteously and respectfully with prices that couldnt even be beat in a junky mall jewelry store.
Expertise and honesty. My 40 plus year Grandfather clock stopped working. I called Matter of Time and spoke to Mrs. Garza (husband and wife business). She gave me some tips to try to see if the clock would start working before scheduling a service call. I wasnt successful so I scheduled a home service call. Mr. Graza analyzed the problem and repaired it on the spot. My clock has been keeping time beautifully since.
My husband has a watch since our son was born, about 15 years. Frozen and was afraid watch was done for. Armando is awesome. Did not try to sell me anything but only had to replace battery! Will return when want another watch. Great selection. Go see them if you are tired of the big companies that care less!
Excellent service and courtesy. I have three more watches I am now eager to take to them. I have an expensive watch my wife gave me 21 years ago on our 25th Wedding Anniversary. I thought it had been ruined by a shopping mall hallway vendor who changed the battery for $10.00. The watch never ran again for seven years. On a whim, I took it to Matter of Time. They fixed it while I waited and showed me the common errors that shopping mall vendors make. My wife and I were absolutely elated and regretted that we had not done this sooner. My three other watches were inherited. I cant wait to see them run again.I am a retired Air Force general.
I am down in San Antonio for some training. The band on my watch broke while I was here. I had a similar problem back home. When I took that watch to a chain store it was going to cost almost $350 to fix due to the insurance and specialist blah blah blah. That was almost the cost of the watch. I took this watch in to Matter of Time. They very cordial, fixed the watch band in just a couple of minutes and it only cost $5. San Antonio is lucky to have a store like this. I would recommend taking all your time pieces here. I couldnt have asked for more reasonable prices or better service.
Last Saturday, 05-25-19, I went to Matter of Time to meet with the owner, Mary. I had inherited, 25 years ago, a Howard Miller clock from my father’s estate that had been in my family for over 30 years. When I went to change out the ‘3’ batteries recently, I accidentally flipped a switch inside the cover, not knowing that the switch turns off the clock. I had never paid attention to the switch in the first place. I saw the switch and thought that it was for the music, so I turned it to the off position. I could hear the ticking of the clock but the hands were not moving. I spoke to Mary and she told me to bring it in, but because of the clock’s age, she couldn’t guarantee she could do anything. So I thought, what do I have to lose. First thing we did was check the batteries. They were good. Then Mary saw the switch and put it on the ‘on’ position. The hands started moving. She told me that all I needed was ‘1’ battery, not ‘3’. The other ‘2’ batteries were for the music, which I did not care about, I just wanted the clock to work and it did. The switch was actually to turn off the clock but I thought that it was to turn the music off. I was so grateful and happy that Mary was so knowledgeable and honest. She made my day. My entire experience at her store will have me coming back. Thank you again, Mary.
I have not even been to your store yet but after reading all these wonderful reviews I cant wait to bring my time piece in for repairs. I have a feeling this is going to be my GO TO place from now on. I just love family owned businesses who take pride in their work and do it with integrity. I love all the Owner Replies also. Hope to see you soon!! :)
We had a Seth Thomas Mantel Clock that belonged to my wifes mother, that had been in storage for 15 years. It was a family heirloom. We stopped by to get an estimate and were told immediately that they were booked for a year and needed an appointment. The owner referred us to one of her technicians. The technician was immediately irritated and arrogant at every simple question. We described that the both the chimes and the clock worked and only the hourly strikes were not working. Upon hearing that he shockingly shoved his entire hand into the back of the clock and managed to get a chime to strike. He then said it would cost $650 to fix it and it was not worth it. After this inspection the time and the chimes no longer worked. We were concerned at this discovery and then took our precious clock to Austin, Texas to Murphys Clocks (which was highly rated). There owner looked at it and said they would do a thorough inspection. They called us and informed us that someone had bent the chimes. He informed us that one of the gears was discovered bent. While I cannot prove that Matter of Time damaged our clock during the inspection I would strongly urge anyone seeking repair of their clocks to look elsewhere. In the best case this Matter of Time is rude and harsh. Save yourself disappointment and heartache over your prized clocks. Repair rendered by this jerk most likely will result in damage.Perry Denning
Took my grandmothers cuckoo clock in without an appointment. Looked it over, fixed a couple of minor issues, and discussed some other more major. Left very happy with service received. Few days later I get a text message follow-up. Amazing experience here. Couldnt be happier.
Incredibly helpful and respectful place. Don’t make the same mistake I did and go here second. After a long failed first attempt at another place, I came right over here and was all fixed up all in about 30 minutes. I was amazed and wished I had gone here in the first place. Highly recommend and I will definitely be a returning customer. Thank you so much!

2022-08-22Mary and Armando are both experts and friendly. Mary has helped me on 3 separate occasions with my automatic wristwatch and Armando was able to fix what I was afraid was an irreparable issue. I thank them for their service and also recommend them strongly. They will do their best to help you, just remember it will take time for them to get the work done and they are a small shop so adjust your expectations, you should leave satisfied! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

2022-07-21I had brought in a 1954 Omega Seamaster that needed a cleaning and needed some parts replaced on it- the team here did a wonderful job on my watch - it’s been running beautifully for the past 6 months since I’ve picked it up - and I would highly recommend them for any watch servicing needed. They charged me a very reasonable price for the service and I will be back when I need other watches serviced! Great customer service

2021-12-16Impeccable, knowledgeable customer service. I literally drive 10 miles and pass numerous other businesses to use their services. When it comes to watches and clocks, these folks are virtual encyclopedias.I truly cannot speak highly enough concerning the quality of the work performed by Matter of Time. I highly recommend them.

2016-01-28This establishment has the best customer service around. I highly recommend them. I took in a new watch I purchased on-line. I needed some links taken out to get it to fit. Walked right in and was greeted promptly. The whole job took maybe 2 or 3 minutes and then a couple of fine adjustments and I was fixed up. Then the nice lady noticed that the watch I was wearing had a link that was loose. She fixed that right up also!! Pricing was just right also. Visit them and you will not be disappointed!!

2019-03-16Just purchased another watch from Mary and Armando today. A Citizen eco drive to add to my collection. They give great service and I have been coming here for several years. If you need to purchase a watch, clock or get service make this your first stop, you will not be disappointed.

2014-07-15These guys are amazing. I had an automatic skeleton watch that had a lot of sentimental value to me that had stopped working. I called about 12 different watch repair shops in 3 different cities and this place was the only place that seemed to even have a clue as to actually FIX that kind of watch. One place even told me they could change the battery and see what would happen, but that was it... yea... on an automatic watch. I would have loved to have seen that. Matter of Times watch repair expert took the watch and said he wasnt sure it could be fixed, but that he would try. He was able to repair my watch and it is working wonderfully. This place has the kind of customer service and expert skills that most big stores and chains just dont have. All they do is take your watch and send it back to the manufacturer 9/10 times anyway. I highly recommend this store.

2016-03-26I had a few name brand watches like Bulova, ESQ, Diesel and Guess that needed new batteries and discovered most places would not work on them. Fortunately, I found a great locally owned place operated by this wonderful couple who have a passion for making sure their customs items are well cared for with service that always bring customers back.If you are looking for a friendly and personal jewelry store that specialize in watch and clock repair…make sure you stop by “Matter of Time” Jewelry store…you will not be disappointed. They also have a great selection name brand watches that are currently on sale; However, I would not wait too long.

2014-01-14Took my watch in to get the battery replaced and the band fixed. Reasonably cheap and great customer service. He fixed the watch while I was there that took about 10-15 minutes and then had a nice conversation afterwards. Highly recommend to anybody needing repairs.

2019-06-09We owned a mantle clock that my wife’s grandfather brought in Europe in the 50s. When he passed away, we inherited the time piece. It hadn’t worked in many years and we searched we found Mondo’s and Mary’s shop. Because of the age of the clock, many internal parts had to be made from scratch by hand. We love this clock because it holds such sentimental value for us. So Thank You Matter Of Time. Thank you for restoring a piece of our family’s past.

2020-03-16I wear an old Seiko World Time. It was built in 1965 and came out of Nam in the 1970s. Anyway, it had been years since I had it serviced. They clean the crud and old oil out and timed it. It keeps better time than any of the Omegas or Rolexs Ive owned.
